Wedding Crashers:

”Ginny!!!” echoed a loud voice in the hall of the guild. Kaya was being playful running around with Jin and biting his leg or shoe from time to time. She would let go, run away and then come back at him. Jin was enjoying it too, laughing and playing with her. The two finally sat down at the tavern and ordered Jin’s special and some meat for Kaya. A familiar face greeted them there, ”Time flies when you’re having fun” said Sophie looking at him with her cold gaze. ”Ahem.. ah, yes it does indeed” he replied humbly, her gaze was powerful enough to scare Kaya in her chibi form. She hid in Jin’s lap as she noticed Sophie also sitting at the tavern.

”Here” said Sophie giving Jin a job request and a box. He didn’t ask questions and looked at the job request while he accepted the box. So he was supposed to go to a wedding wearing a dress, the dress must be the contents of the box. Was he going alone? He looked at Sophie, who understood that he probably was wondering that. ”There are three male suits in there” she said as she left the tavern and disappeared, probably off to do something important. ”So I need to find two more mages then? Who to take along” he thought as he put the box next to himself and started eating the cake that had just arrived.

He had quite a few friends now in the guild and he was sure that he would soon find two other guys to go along with.

Romulus sat at his favorite coffee shop in the heart of Rose Garden. The shop was almost devoid of life, save for the few people that were begrudgingly working on the day. Everyone had set out into the town en mass. There was to be a very large wedding, and the time for it was setting in quickly. Romulus had on a set of clothes that were a far cry from anything he would normally be wearing. He traded in his regular silk gi pants for a set of satin slacks. His black shirt with a single half sleeve for a black silk long sleeved shirt and a black satin vest. His sleeveless black trench coat was tossed aside in favor of a dove tailed, three button, black satin suit jacket, with a navy blue Black Rose emblem embroidered on to the left side of the breast. He finished off his outfit with a pair of all black aviator sunglasses, and a navy blue bow tie. Though these clothes were from from anything he had worn, Romulus had to admit that he enjoyed them more than he thought he would, and very well intended on keeping them for himself after this mission. he sipped on his regular order of black coffee that he put his own three packets of sugar into, with his hair smoothed out and parted to it's usual left side, covering one of his steely eyes.

He had arrived in the Black Rose Guild Hall late the night before and was confronted by Sophie herself. She had thrust a box into his hands and walked away. Romulus was surprised by her actions, but assumed she was just tired. Inside of the box was enough clothes to make three suits and two pieces of paper. One was a job request, and the other was a note from Kakuma herself, addressed solely to Romulus. The note was in no way complex, as the only words on it were, "You're going with friends. Dress nice," and a smiley face at the bottom. Romulus read through the job description then retired to the washroom to construct his outfit from the various pieces of clothing in the box. He had chosen the ones he liked, put them on, then returned the box to Sophie, with the job request on top, and the personal note in his jacket pocket. He then set off to find the first ship leaving towards a town he would have went to the next morning anyway. he hoped whoever the "friends" were that he was going with knew that he was the one that was going, and that they weren't disappointed with their unchosen partner.

Aether was within his room, re-reading over the books he had borrowed from the library after his chat with Kakuma, if he was to become part of the research and development team for Black Rose he had to work on something that could help the guild, but for now he had to start small. He had gathered all the materials needed for his idea, all he needed was a basic understanding of how to achieve it. Just as he was flipping the page the door opened and Sophie walked in, placing a box on his desk then leaving, giving Aether just enough incentive to look out from his book and gaze within the box. A suit along with a job request was held within, looking over the request he realised that wearing formal attire was part of the job, and with Aether being someone who barely goes out often this suit was most likely made for times like this.

The suit was comprised of a red vest with the Black Rose symbol sewn onto the pocket, long black pants, a long sleeved white shirt, and a red and black striped tie. Putting the suit on he read over the job request again, stating that three mages would be attending the wedding in order to protect the groom from being attacked by the bride’s ex-boyfriend. From the info given to him from the job request he took a guess that the ex-boyfriend was most likely the leader of a gang within the city. He had no idea at their numbers but if they were to attempt to crash the wedding most of the members would be within the assault.

”So he’s been bad mouthing and fighting the groom all this time? Well, he’s definitely sure to interrupt the wedding” thought Jin. By now, he had finished his beloved red velvet cake and had moved the box into his room with Kaya following him the entire way. He read the entire flyer just to make sure he didn’t miss out on some crucial detail. After making sure that nothing was left he looked at Kaya who had been staring at him with those curious eyes. ”So?” inquired the cute little sabertooth tiger, ”Yes yes, we’re going. Just let me change into these clothes I’m supposed to wear. We should probably get you something too”, he picked up the clothes and headed into the changing room. Kaya’s eyes widened as she began thinking of things she could wear. While she imagined herself in some bows and different kind of dresses, Jin emerged from the room.

He was wearing a completely black dress with a white colored full sleeved dress shirt. The tuxedo pants underneath were the same color as the coat: black. The tie he wore was of red color and he also had a red rose in his pocket and a black rose symbol stitched to the bottom end of his tie. ”So what are we getting for me?” inquired Kaya. ”I have the perfect little thing for you” Jin replied. He fetched a pink colored bow with the black rose symbol stitched on it and decorated it on her ear. Kaya was happy with that and the two set off to Rose Garden: the place where the wedding was supposed to be held.

Jin and Kaya were both unaware of the fact that two other mages were also going to be with them on this job. The three mages and one pet would probably end up meeting in Rose garden. Their task was to confront the boyfriend so it didn’t matter if they set off together or just met there later on.

Romulus finished his coffee at a nonchalant pace, waiting until he could hear the festivities starting in the streets outside of the humble cafe he was in. He then set out into the crowded streets to either find his team for this mission, or maybe even one or two of the main target's henchmen. Romulus needed a bit of excitement as he had a very bland past few days.

To make sure that he could move freely in this set of clothes he was unaccustomed to, Romulus found a bit of lattice work, and set off to climbing it. He was almost completely unnoticed because of the din and raw excitement pouring from the several crowds around the town. Once he made it to the inclined roof of the building he had chosen at random, he noted how well fitting his suit was and that he had no loss of movement that he could notice. He sat atop the peak, surveying the large crowds. Once he had spotted the main wedding area, where the actual ceremony was to take place, he started walking along rooftop after rooftop, until he was sitting facing the currently nonexistent audience seated in the public benches facing the alter. He was sure that from the crown of this roof he could see anything that was even the slightest bit out of the ordinary. He did wish that the job request would have came with a picture of the main target, or at least a description of the man. Regardless, Romulus sat there in waiting, slowly eating a white rice cake he had produced from his inside jacket pocket.

After Aether had changed into the suit he put his mask back on and looked up a map of the city within the Black Rose Library, memorizing it and the general location around where the wedding will be held he folded it up and placed it within his back pocket then began to head towards Rose Garden.

Upon arrival he stuck to the shadows, straying away from the large crowds as much as possible and turning into alleyways and small streets whenever he spotted a large group, altering his course towards the Rose Garden as he went, taking note of the map that he memorised even though some of it was a bit inaccurate. Eventually arriving at the entrance to the location of the wedding he looked around for his comrades, even though at the time he hadn’t been informed of who he was with he guessed at the very least that they would have the black rose insignia somewhere on their formalwear. After looking around for a bit some rice had fallen onto his shoulder from the roof of the building he was standing beside. Looking up he spotted a man in a suit consuming a rice cake, and if he knew anything about Black Rose in his interactions with them this had to be one of the members that he would be working with on this job. Moving into the nearby alley he began to climb up the side of the building, using bricks which had been outset as foot and handholds as he leapt from wall to wall before reaching the rooftop of the man with the rice cake, to which he assumed would have heard him climbing up.

”Now Kaya, we’re going to keep it hush hush okay?” said Jin as he instructed Kaya. The two had now arrived nearby and were moving along the alley ways stealthily. He could have just mingled with the crowd but Jin believed that served little purpose. The boyfriend wouldn’t just be in the crowd and he wanted to stop the guy before he managed to do anything. Marriage was a wonderful thing and since the job was entrusted to Black Rose, Jin wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. In order to do that, he needed to find the boyfriend, take out him and his goons and do it as quietly as possible. ”Okay okay” replied Kaya as she followed Jin closely.

After walking in the alley ways for some time, he noticed someone else moving in a similar manner as himself. Jin used his thermal vision to find out that this person was having a heat signature he was familiar with, ”Aethar?”. He had been on a job with Aethar, a job in which he and Aethar faced off against some bandits in the desert. He also noticed another familiar heat signature nearby. As Aethar climbed and headed for the roof top, so did Jin along with Kaya. All this time, Kaya had been obedient and hadn’t said a word or made a sound. Even though she acted rebellious, she was pretty obedient to Jin. Jin arrived at the roof top and noticed two familiar mages, ”Well hello there” said Jin, as he stood on a nearby rooftop; ”Hiya!” said Kaya greeting them as well.

Romulus was almost done with his meager meal when he heard climbing on the side of the building he was currently perched upon. He turned to see a tuft of hair cresting over the ledge. The tuft of hair was folowed by a strange man wearing a suit similar to Romulus' own, but the new man had a mask upon his face. The small Black Rose insignia on the vest tipped Romulus off that this was on of his allies on this mission. He made a mental note to ask the man his nane, and was just about to when he heard a very familiar voice offering a greeting behind him, and another greeting from a strangely feminine voice that he did not recognize.

Romulus turned his head to see Jin behind him with a small tiger accompanying him. I don't want think I'll ever get used to you greetings, Jin. And I've gotten more from you than anyone else," Romulus chuckled and focused a bit more in the tiger. " It appears our team is all assembled, but if I may pose a question to the youngest member present, who also happens to be the member I was not told about, what's your story, cub?" he questioned, as he turned his body from the masked man, the kneeling down to get as close to eye level as he could with the young looking tiger. He wore a cocky smirk from the very first word of his question, but he projected as much caring, kind nature, and genuine interest as he could with his steel blue eyes.

As Aether made his way over to the man he turned around to face Aether, which caused him to notice the Black Rose Insignia on the left breast of the man’s blue suit, no doubt making him one of the two others that would be aiding the newlyweds make sure their wedding goes off with little interruptions. Aether kept his one uncovered eye focused on the man in an attempt to figure out what sort of magic he would use since many of the mages he’s come across so far had some form of their magic adorned as part of their clothing or part of their person.

Whilst Aether was examining the newcomer he heard a pair of familiar voices from a rooftop over, ones that he hadn’t heard since he and some other members from Black Rose had ventured into the desert to put an end to a group of raiders. As he turned around to he saw whom the voices belonged. Okura Jin and his little, not-so-little-at-times, tiger cub Kaya had climbed up and were now jumping across from the rooftop of the building beside them to the rooftop that Aether and the blue suited man were standing upon. The unknown companion immediately turned towards the man and the cub with a grin on his face and crouched down to get on eye level with the tiny tiger. Aether smiled slightly at the sight then set his gaze back towards the entranceway of the ceremony in an attempt to spot any members of the ex-boyfriend’s group.

Jin nervously scratched the back of his head as a tiny sweat drop made its way down his face. He couldn't help but admit that he did have some weird impressions on Romulus. "Haha, I'm sure you'll get used to them eventually" he replied with a little laugh. It was afterwards, that it happened: a miracle. Jin never though that such a day would ever come, the little tiger cub with a bratty attitude was.. blushing. Was it the kind greeting that Romulus had extended to her? Oh wait, Romulus had just called her a cub; so that made her blush then? Kaya lifted herself up on her hind legs and grabbed Romulus face with her soft paws, "I'm Kaya, who are you?" she replied in a quite cute manner, she probably added a "nyaah" at the end, it wasn't audible though.

"Kaya, meet Romulus Lupin; a mage like me from our guild" she was still new so she didn't knew many mages. This was her first time meeting Romulus; however, she had met Aether before. "Masky!!!!" said Kaya, greeting him; "Masky? that's not even ... what kinda name? ... ah jeez". Jin couldn't help but feel awkward because of Kaya's childish behavior, he looked apologetically at Aether. Due to Kaya, everything was quite humorous and calm but then Jin noticed it. His expression suddenly turned serious when his heat sensing abilities caught the heat signature of a potential foe.

The man was moving towards the reception of the wedding ceremony, though he hadn't made it there yet. It would be best to take him down before he does so and that required swift and immediate movements. Among the three, Jin knew about Aether's portal abilities and he knew about that technique Romulus had once used to jump around. All three of them could make it there in time so there was no rush. However, this was a good vantage point and one of them should at least stay and keep watch. He stepped forward and Kaya quiet down as she noticed his expression, she let go of Romulus's face right after softly hitting on the head like saying, "I boop you now". She climbed on to Jin's leg and he lifted her up again, making her hold on to his shoulder. "I'll use my heat vision to keep watch, Aether you can get there right? I'll leave it to you. Romulus, stay close for now. The next foe I sense, you'll go take care of it. Once you've taken down the enemy, return because we have no way of communicating at a distance". Was he the most senior of the three? Nope, he was of equal rank to Aether; he had done more jobs though. So he had more experience and thus he wanted to take the initiative. Not that he was ordering them around, both of them were free to do as they pleased. It would be better if all of them did stick around in a team though.

Romulus giggled at the way the cub treated him. It reminded him a lot of how he used to treat the Den Mother. He just assumed all young animals were the same at that point, because he was little above an animal dueto his upbringing. He was also glad that Jin had introduced him, so that Romulus wouldn't have to. It allowed him to notice the small blush that formed on the the young tiger, who had introduced herself as Kaya. Romulus didn't put much thought into the blush, and rubbed the side of Kaya's head and behind her ear. Romulus turned his smirk into a smile, showing of his canines to the feline.That was when the young cat ran back to her owner. Romulus was afraid he had scarred the cub, but when he took a look at the face of the aforementioned owner, he saw a more storm look then he had worn previously. Jin told the third member of their three man team to go after a few potential threats that Jin had saw, and had asked that Romulus stay on the roof. Romulus stood back up and listened to Jin delegating out jobs. Romulus wasn't very happy being told to, in essence, to sit and stay. But he was the lowest ranking member present and he had upset Jin with his conduct on the last mission the two had done together. So Romulus did as he was told, without even expecting a treat. His treat would hopefully be getting to go after the next set of interlopers. Romulus was also aware that he would be more useful sitting and using his observation skills to aid Jin in the over watch role. That was the reason he climbed this building in the first place after all. Romulus switched into a more combat ready stance and put his senses out on full blast, all without saying a single word.

Grinning beneath his mask at the nickname that the cub gave him briefly looking over to the small cat before resuming his gaze back over to the crowd before noticing a small group that composed themselves differently from the crowd, keeping their hands within their pockets with a look on their faces which Aether was far too common with, a look which he was content on knocking off their faces. Jin had noticed something different about the men as well, his expression suddenly changing and stepping forward in order to get a vantage point before picking up his voice in an attempt to take the initiative towards this job.

Aether didn’t wish to resort to violence so soon but it would be a hassle later on if the men were to be at the ceremony. Nodding at the proposition of Jin’s he began to descend down from building slowly using the same way he used to get up and make his way through the crowd of people towards the three men which had now moved into a back alley after noticing that Aether had followed them. He didn’t wish to use his magic just yet as it would give away most of his abilities in case these men were to run off and tell their boss but he couldn’t simply stand by and wait for them to assault the groom during the ceremony.

Remaining cautious he allowed two of his tendrils to flow from his back and wrap around the inside of his sleeves in case the men were going to attempt an attack, needless to say they did, all three at once. The first and second collision he managed to block with his arms from both sides, the third assailant had gone for a direct punch to his gut whilst he was blocking the first two attacks but he managed to get his foot in the way beforehand and kick the attack off course and into the foe on his left. The surprise had knocked the wind out of the man as he began to crumple up on the ground beside Aether, grasping at his fist and his stomach. The man to his right was grasping at his fist also, clearly unaware at what Aether held beneath his sleeves but not clueless enough to attempt another attack, unlike the man, who had attempted to punch him head on whilst he was busy with his hands defending against two other assailants, who was now going in for another attack but Aether simply took a step towards the crumpled man and clotheslined the man who was attacking him, knocking him down before delivering a knockout blow to his stomach. The one man who had come out the least harmed was now kneeling beside his two friends on the ground before looking up into Aethers one eye and lipless mask as Aether’s elbow drove its way into his forehead.

Jin nodded in reply to Aether, ”so far so good” he said as he continued to scan the area for any other friends of the ex boyfriend. Soon his senses picked up the heat signature of the one they were supposed to keep away from the entire ceremony. ”Oh no, we probably should have looked for him first” he said to Romulus, pointing in the direction the foe was. It would be too reckless to send Romulus alone and since the key figure had been located there was no reason to stay at his current location anymore. Jin looked at Aether and pointed to him the direction where the ex boyfriend was, hoping that he would understand. ”We’ll need to pitch in everything, he is a mage after all” said Jin as he jumped from the roof top and began making his way from one roof to another with Kaya in his arms.

He was expecting that Romulus too would follow him quietly and not engage the enemy until they had surrounded him. Jin had a simple plan in mind, more like the classical approach to be taken when one is outnumbering the enemy. They were three; well, technically three and a half and there was only one foe. If they managed to surround the foe and keep him isolated while they engaged him. He left Kaya at one roof top and made his way to the other in a manner that Kaya was to the left and Jin was to the right of the foe. The ex boyfriend was still keeping to the alley ways and hadn’t been noticed by the ones attending the ceremony. This was the perfect time to stop him in his tracks before he managed to make a fuss, the mages were hired for this one sole purpose to keep this individual away from their clients. Jin hoped that his guild mates would understand his strategy even though he hadn’t verbally explained it to them.

Romulus looked at his teammate in awe, Aether had just defeated 3 enemies without even moving much. Romulus had to admit, he thought the idea of tentacle magic was a bit creepy, unnatural, and incredibly evil seeming, but he could not argue the results that it had just given. Not long after Aether showed a sign to show that his enemies were dispatched, Jin had noticed the main query.

Romulus listened as Jin kicked himself over sending Aether off, and not noticing the boyfriend earlier. Jin them told Romulus that they would all need to work together to deal with this new threat. Romulus watched Jin show some hand signals before he took off, but Romulus played them no mind. Romulus let a small smirk show as a wonderful idea came to mind. He knew he could not make this idea flow well at his normal speed, so he knew it was mandatory that he got his newest acquaintance informed of his idea.

He activated Wings of the Crow for the temporary movement boost he would need. Romulus had no doubt that he would need to use much speed in the fight itself, so he was not concerned with whether or not the spell would wear off in the middle of the confrontation. As his hair flared up around his head he jumped off of the building he was perched on. The slow glide towards Aether was only a few moments, but it seemed like an eternity. When Romulus arrived at Aether's location he immediately began to say his plan. "Aether, that is your name right? Jin found the boyfriend we are after. I have a plan. If I can get to him now, and I mean now, while he is still in the alley he is in, I can get him really distracted. I saw that Jin and Kaya got in position to put a pinser maneuver in action. So I think you need to do your best to get behind him unoticed and grab him. I have no doubts in your stealth abilities, but a distraction will make him a bit easier to grab. Which leads me to my point. I saw those tentacles of yours. If you use those to grab him and do as much damage as you can at the same time, the rest of us can probably finish him off. Hope you like the plan I'm taking off before I miss my shot," Romulus spat out quickly before jumping onto the roof of one of the buildings that were created the alley. From there he spotted the alley he knew his main target was in. He jumped into the crowded street below and walked quickly towards the entrance to the alleyway he was looming for.

When Romulus arrived, the target of the job wasn't very far from the mouth of the side path. Romulus made a deliberate show of noticing the man. He then almost shouted out, "Cousin?? Cousin is that you?? Oh of course it is!" At that point Romulus began to move towards the man and took him into a tight embrace. He hugged the stranger for a few seconds before backing off slightly, while still maintaining an extremely tight grip on the stranger's shoulders. Still nearly shouting, and making sure he talked enough that the other man couldn't speak, to make a deliberate effort of getting people to notice the two men in the alley, Romulus said, "Oh cousin Nico it has been far too long! Last time I got to see you was when I finally talked you into going bowling! Don't you remember the fun we had? But what are you doing here? Let me guess, here for the wedding? Oh of course you are! But I would have never guessed you to be the type to come to one of these things. Oh, don't tell me, ol' Nico is finally thinking about settling down isn't he? Well, cousin, when are we going to hear those wedding bells chiming for you??"

Aether had noticed a faint magic sense of a fourth magic user strolling the streets, heading in the general direction of the wedding and from a quick glance up at Jin he could tell the heat mage had also picked up on the magician, and with some hand signs he relayed that the man was the one attempting to disrupt the wedding. Nodding in response to the direction the man was coming from he began to move back into the alleyway when a shadow cast itself over him as the snow white comrade had descended over the bustling crowd that really didn’t pay him any mind and landed in the middle of the alley before quickly blurting out a plan to distract and pincer attack the target before jumping onto the nearby building.

Aether kept to the shadows, his one eye keeping its glare directed at the man. He didn’t seem like much, but his aura was that of a trained mage. Then suddenly an outburst arose amongst the crowd, and was quickly drawn to a nearby alleyway, it appeared that Romulus had sprung his trap. Keeping a close eye on the men Aether began to slip up onto the rooftops to get a top down view of the scenario taking place. Romulus was talking with the ex boyfriend about a wedding, something about not seeing eachother for a long time and other things to keep him distracted. No doubt that the man had sensed that Romulus was a mage and had become cautious as a result. If he attempted to leave Aether would jump down and block his path.

Jin hadn’t anticipated Romulus to alter the plan, it wasn’t bad though more like an improvement. The ex boyfriend seemed to be more of a skilled magician, at least that’s why Jin had sensed. So Romulus would be interpreted as a lesser threat which might make the ex lower his guard and at that moment, both Jin and Aether could make the move. Jin noticed that Aether had understood his hand gestures and was now also in position. Thanks to Romulus the ex boyfriend had been stopped in his tracks and was now dealing with a strange situation, this was the perfect time to strike. Hoping that Aether would be able to block the ex boyfriend’s path, Jin decided to jump in and initiate the attack. He looked at Kaya and told her to change her size right after they would jump. Kaya understood without having Jin to actually speak the instructions. ”If we time it just right, both Romulus and Aether will make sure that he doesn’t get away. We can stop him right here and finish this job, knocking him out should do the trick”.

Jin and Kaya simultaneously jumped from their positions and in mid air, Jin summoned two tall and muscular spirit warriors; both of them were carrying large clubs, each club was 7 feet in length. Kaya too altered her size in mid air and changed to her larger saber tooth form. All four of them landed around Romulus and the ex boyfriend suddenly appearing and surrounding them. Jin’s aim was to get in between Romulus and the ex boyfriend was fast as possible so he could make sure that Romulus didn’t take a serious hit. Using his speed boost, he rushed and attacked the wave mage from behind while Kaya moved in and attempted to swoop Romulus away in her paws. The two warriors moved in synch with Jin, attacking from different sides. The mage was caught off guard thanks to Romulus and he turned to face Jin, blocking Jin’s attack head on but the warriors managed to land two serious blows on his shoulders. ”Argh!” that sound confirmed that he did take some damage from those hits.

The ex boyfriend, pushed Jin back and turned to make a run for it. Kaya had already moved along with Romulus (provided Romulus had allowed her to take him) and was now blocking the path.

Romulus smiled when he saw Aether get into place. He knew at that moment that the plan would start any moment. But even with that information it was still a shock when a total of four figures descended into the alley instead of the two he was prepared to see. His shock was prolonged as when all four made it into the alley, instead of an immediate attack, that Romulus was ready to take part of the damage from, a now much larger Kaya was attempting to carry him away from the fight. Romulus initially resisted her attempts, but couldn't fight it when the cub put her jaws lightly on the back of his coat, and literally dragging him away from the target he was distracting. Romulus watched on as Jin and the two figures with him made a three pronged attack. The target of their mission had managed to block Jin's strike in a very direct manner, but two extremely large clubs cane down on his shoulders. Romulus was still Emotionally numb from the scenario of pure shock he was in, but he managed to notice the boyfriend beginning to cast a spell. As the magic circle appeared, Romulus had to make a snap decision. Romulus decided that if he were to let this unfold, there was a very high risk of Jin getting hurt. Romulus screamed out, "Howl of the Wolf!" and let the deep silver, swirling tunnel of wind loose in Jin's direction. The tunnel hit the back of the exboyfriend's leg, making it buckle and throwing his center of gravity of balance. This disruption made the wave mage cast his spell in a completely off target, with it it striking a wall. Romulus only hoped that Jin was prewarned enough to dodge the tunnel of wind that had continued past its intended target, as it had a chance of breaking Jin's leg if he didn't move quickly.

Aether kept a close eye on the situation as the pieces made their moves, he himself was moving along the edge of the rooftop to get a better angle as to what was to take place. Jin had made a successful attack on the target with the assistance of his warriors, forcing the wave mage to attempt to flee the area. Aether’s eyes quickly darted over to the now not so small Kaya who was dragging Romulus away from the fight, but it appeared that he had made a sudden decision to make an attack towards the escaping mage, and with the bumpy ride he was on it was no doubt that he could miss entirely or end up hitting Jin in the process. Activating his jump spell, Aether quickly teleported down to Jin’s side before Romulus’ spell was cast with palms facing the target and his comrade. Portals had formed in front of both palms just as Romulus’ howl had made its way down to his location, being dragged into the portal and flowing out of the other portal on his other palm to make sure it would hit the back of the fleeing mages leg and cause him to lose balance and fall over, along with sending his spell off course and harmlessly into one of the walls of the alleyway. Hastily moving in he let his tendrils flow from his back and use them to pin down the ex-boyfriend and restrict his arms and legs from moving. If he were to attempt to make an escape Aether was sure one of his companions would knock him back towards him to restrain him completely or just knock him out in general.

With Aether’s final attack their plan was completed, the ex boyfriend was stopped in his tracks. If it weren’t for Aether’s movements and the summoning of portals, Jin would have ended up badly injured. He might have been able to avoid some damage but at such a close range, it was impossible for him to avoid it completely. The two summoned warriors rushed to Aether’s side and helped him hold the ex boyfriend while he was tied up. Jin walked to Aether and patted on his shoulder: ”Thanks for the save”. His gaze then turned to Romulus, he didn’t want him feeling bad for almost injuring Jin. ”Next time a little warning would help but hey, we caught the guy.. haha”, a little laughter at the end just to lighten the mood. Having secured the ex boyfriend the two large summoned spirit warriors disappeared in a similar way to how they had appeared. Kaya shrunk back to her normal chibi size and climbed on Jin’s shoulder to rest, she instantly fell asleep.

The tied up ex boyfriend was then handed over to the local law enforcement. The group of mages then joined the wedding ceremony where they were welcomed by the bride and groom. Due to the entire scenario being finished in the alleys, there were no interruptions in the ceremony. The bride was beautiful, the groom was happy and the client was satisfied. After enjoying the food, the free booze and a wedding; the group headed back to the guild. They had grown as a team, they had formed and executed a plan almost perfectly. Sure, little mistakes happen but nothing too major happened. ”All in all, a good job well done if I say so myself”, he thought to himself as the ship they boarded got closer to their guild island.
