Holding them in a warm and tender embrace, Kuro took a deep breath. Their mana was tantalizing, enough so that even she couldn't help but want to take a tiny bite. Gulping away any nervousness the girl parted her lips slightly to bestow a kiss-

A mismatched pair of grey and red eyes slowly opened up in confusion. She had a brief moment of panic before realizing that she was in her room. A room that certainly did not feel like hers but at the very least she had a roof over her head. The panic settling the black haired girl sat up, releasing a pillow from her embrace only to send feathers flying through the air. "Ew..." She plucked a stray feather from her lips, "I took a bite of my pillow in my sleep...Again?" She groaned in embarrassment, how many times could she ask for a new pillow before they got suspicious? It wasn't like she could outright say "I've been kissing my pillow in my sleep and then accidentally biting it?" It was embarrassing and it wasn't something she was prone to before but ever since the demon Kiro had taken residence up in her body, it had become a bad habit because of-

    Hunger

Her stomach reminded her of it with an almost terrifying growl. One hand prodded at her stomach, "Come on!" She whined knowing full well what it was craving but she would deny it that. Her source of sustenance was mana but she still ate regular human food hoping that it would provide her nutrients. Which it didn't but Kuro still tried.... Slipping into a loose fitting shirt, and her usual eyepatch over her red eye, Kuro exited out of her room to search for food. Being mouse like in appearance and nature, Kuro slipped through the halls silently though she did appear rather lost.

It’s been a week and a half since he left Savage Skull to go on different jobs across the region. His return was unexpected as he took the secret tunnels rather than go to the entrance. Perhaps he was trying to avoid most of the guards and the guild members from seeing him as he emerges through the secret stone door; he looked around to make sure nobody sees him come in. The secret path he took was originally made for Harrigan to escape in case of siege and only a few members know of such route.

The halls were empty and nobody is around. He was carrying with him a sack of corpses of dead rats so to contribute to Sinali’s experiments. It is weird to see him with such sack of dead rodents and he’ll probably wait till dusk. In the meantime he stashed the sack in the utility closet and prayed that no one comes here before he returns. His suit caught a bit of scent of dead corpses and had to come to his temporary quarters to change but on the way he managed to bump into a little girl who recently joined the guild. They this year’s new arrival of members, hopefully the bump didn’t hurt the little one.

“!!! Oh, my pardons are you alright? Its my fault I didn’t see you on time.” Dubhlainn picked her up for her to stand up straight. “Your name is Kuro correct? What are you doing here in the boy’s dormitory? Were you looking for someone?” Kuro worse a black loose fitting shirt and her eye patch, her hair is riddled with patches of white that looked like as if her pillow exploded on her. Dubhlainn took liberty into removing a bit of the feathers on her hair at least. Judging from her appearance she just recently woken up.

Her mind so focused on controlling her stomach which in turn might control her inner demons, Kuro didn't realize where she was or that she was not alone. Walking into her fellow guild mate Kuro was knocked back to the floor like a rag-doll. "Mph!" She rubbed her forehead, feeling the small bruise already beginning to heal from the impact. Being a partial demon at the very least did have some benefits..."What'd I run into a wall?" The sound of a voice shot her theory down, and soon enough she was placed once more on her feet, forcing to stand up straighter than she had ever stood in years. Finally gaining the courage to look at whom she ran into Kuro's already pale features grew paler.

She had to tilt her head back just to look up at him, he stood nearly a foot taller than herself. Realizing that all she had done in the last few moments was stare, Kuro was quick to stammer out a response. "No I'm fine! No, it was my bad. I'm sorry." A slight dip of the head to show her sincerity, and her bad habit of taking the blame for everything was quickly coming out. "Yeah I'm Kuro...."Shiro, and Kiro as well but those two were luckily silent in her head. While, it seemed he at the least knew who she was, Kuro could not say the same and seemed rather awkward because of it. Most of her time at the guild was spent hiding away in her room or creeping about like a mouse so when it came to members she hardly knew a soul. Except for the guild-master and the man who had shown her around on her first day. Other than that Kuro kept her distance for good reason. "Boys dormitory?" She seemed confused until she glanced around. She wasn't particularly familiar with the layout of the guild and her lack of attention is probably what lead her to exactly where she did not want to be. "No, no I wasn't supposed to head here- and by no means was I coming here to meet anyone!" She stammered out somewhat flustered, she didn't want others to think that she strolled into the boys dormitory as she pleased because of her succubus nature. Though it made her briefly ponder if she had unconsciously began to wander there....Pushing that worrisome thought out of her head Kuro realized that something was touching her inky black locks of hair.

Before she could figure out how to explain herself, Kuro couldn't help but pause. He was picking feathers out of her hair? Scarlet dusted her cheeks and she quickly buried her face in her hands. Kuro was an awkward and easily embarrassed soul, an odd character to be in such a dark guild, but she wasn't exactly there out of her own desire. Another startling growl alerted Kuro once more of her hunger, and of course the rousing of her demons. "You wouldn't happen to know where any food might be?"

It was indeed hard to tell what Dubhlainn is feeling as of this moment since he always carried a stone faced expression. To Kuro he appeared intimidating but his action says otherwise. Judging from how she reacted, she was confused, probably had a lot of things going on in her mind which have lead her here. Well her strange nature has some charm as Dubhlainn would like to think of it, the part about her wearing an eye patch raises questions that Dubhlainn would like to ask but frankly reserve at a later date. Her face is covered by her frail hands, was Dubhlainn scarring her too much? He wouldn’t blame her if she’s afraid of everyone since all its members give off an eerie aura; sometimes it’s hard to tell whether they wanted to be friends or enemies. The one with the eye patch, that’s what the grunts have been gossiping these days, it was rumored she had something unique in her though Dubhlainn couldn’t tell what it is.

“You seek the eatery, shall I take you there?” A general question to help her but the real question that he wants to ask of her right now, he couldn’t ask her directly since she might agree to the answer already so he had to express his question in another way simply by offering his hand to her.

Is she afraid of Dubhlainn? If she did took his hand now it means she's not afraid, on the other hand if she didn't she still fears him all the same. Of course regardless of the outcome he'd direct her to the eatery.

The faintest of smiles had graced her lips when he offered to take her to where food might be. Her guard was up still but thus far the intimidating man had been nothing but kind, something that no other guild member had shown her up until this point. Still, words of warning rung in her ears for all she knew this could be some horrible trick. It wouldn't have been the first time that someone used a mask of kindness to hurt her...The offering of his hand had taken the partial demon aback. Her single grey eye glanced between the hand in question and the man whom it was attached to.

    Confused

She was terribly confused as to what to do, deep down she still thought this could be some terrible trick. However, it would be very rude to turn it down...Clearly, petrified and panicked, Kuro's manners won out over her fear. She placed a visibly shaking palm in his own, eyeing over how tiny her hand looked compared to his. "Thank you...."A quite mutter of courtesy. The mage waited for him to take the lead, feeling vaguely like a child getting lead by their parent. "Oh no....." She inwardly sighed hoping this wouldn't spark anymore rumors about her or her persona's. The rumors she had heard were just quiet mutterings, none of them would make sense if someone didn't know about what resided within her. There were various tales of her, of a quiet mouse like girl, of a woman with white hair and a deadly glare, and of a certain curvaceous vixen. None of them matched up and surely upon meeting Kuro only one of them seemed true but it was anything but. Her thought process soon slowed to a halt as a stunning realization came over her, her hunger was subsiding.

    "S-Sorry!"

Her hand tore itself away from his, and she put as much distance between them as possible. "I-I didn't mean to! It was an accident I swear!" She seemed frantic on the border of tears. Touch was a deadly thing when it came to Kuro or any of her other forms. Her body was her ultimate weapon, not just because her magic came from her body, but because any contact with her could result in a drain of mana. The other forms could control the drain of mana but Kuro was inexperienced and any sort of contact with her resulted in an unintentional drain of magic power. "I'm sorry!" She hadn't drained much but surely he must have felt the pull, and considering Kuro hardly ever ate it didn't take much mana to fill her.

At first she hesitated probably trying to decide whether to trust Dubhlainn or not but if Dubhlainn were to be asked that question, he wouldn’t trust himself either it’s hard to predict what’s on his mind and considering her appearance and age it’s natural for her to have fear. She was afraid of everyone and it was noted that she tends to hide in corners where she wouldn’t be noticed or looked down upon considering how frail she could be that is according to the grunts. His Chivalry and intentions were made clear but all that achieved at this point is confused her but she took his hand anyways. Did she take it because she doesn’t fear dubhlainn or was it really because she was so anxious of what would happen if she refused to shake hands? It is hard taking care of a mouse but a mouse when alone would be overall frightened of everything that moves, even a small drop of a pin could send it running.

Fear is something that she had to overcome at some point or she will never survive in the guild. Kuro wasn’t the only one worried about rumors, Dubhlainn earned some respect himself among the grunts and any sign of weakness could cause them to be arrogant. The moment he made contact with her hand was the moment when he knew something went wrong. He felt a bit light; he felt mana consumption on his body by the time he made contact with her hand. A portion of his mana was gone and contact with her hand must have something to do with it. It surprised them both and her reaction was enough to tell Dubhlainn that it wasn’t intentional and if it was she would have kept quiet about it. There were many oddities in Savage Skull, Kuro is no different though there was hatred between mages, respect between each other is and overall must or that is what he believes Savage Skull is and this little girl fear is her own way of respecting her fellow guild mates.

Upon having to separate touch, he examined his hand to see traces of his own mana on it. It was the first time this thing happened to him but was this an ability? If it is ability… its that of a Demi-human for that mages having to drain mana with just touch is not a common sight. Regardless Dubhlainn didn’t bother to ask why but assumed it was just her nature to do so and fear must be hindering her control over her magic.

“Let’s head to the eatery and get you out of the boy’s dormitory.” That was all he has said as he rested his hand on the back of her shoulder. He didn’t answer Kuro’s apology but it seems that it didn’t matter to Dubhlainn anyways. It would probably make Kuro nervous if he didn’t answer much so perhaps an assuring tone of voice will calm her down.

“I’m Dubhlainn.” He’s a man of few words though if he really didn’t accepted Kuro’s apology he would have left in annoyance besides she was a child that joined the guild out of her own volition knowing it might do her harm than good. He’d thought that she didn’t belong here but everyone always has a legitimate reason for joining. “If you’re hungry then I’ll treat you to a warm meal.”

With that both of them started to walk towards the eatery.

Her grey gaze was wide like a deer caught in head lights. Her body was visibly quaking in fear of what the other mage might do or so but no harsh words or actions were thrown her way. Instead he seemed almost confused as he inspected his hand, and the he did not acknowledge the little mishap. "E-Eh?" She blinked once and then twice making sure that she wasn't seeing things again. The hand upon her shoulder made her jolt and cast a nervous glance up towards the Knight. Gulping and giving a slight nod of her head Kuro allowed him to lead her towards the dining area. Truth be told she wasn't particularly hungry now but it wasn't like she wanted to explain her eating habits to him....

"You're going to choke down that pathetic excuse for food then?"

A purr in her head tinted with sleepiness. A voice that could only belong to Kiro, a being who had more than likely woken up because of Kuro's recent mana consumption. The dark haired girl could already see the succubus licking her lips, "The taste isn't half bad. I've had better but I'd prefer more just to make sure." Kuro's features paled as she walked, inwardly trying to argue with one of the demons that plagued her. Kuro was quiet before but she was even more so now; not to mention she seemed rather distracted. "We've been over this darling. Eating human food is just gonna undo the mana you just ate. That stuff is like poison!" The gluttonous succubus made a face of displeasure, a face in which only Kuro could see.

Her gaze flickered up from the floor once they reached their destination. "T-Thank you!" She muttered quietly, fidgeting slightly physically feeling a finger trail down her spine. It was very difficult to have conversations when an invisible entity could physically touch her just to mess with her. "I-I've got it from here....Dubhlainn.” His name sounded rather awkward on her tongue but it did show that she was paying some attention to him during the walk down. Perhaps if he left Kuro could get out of eating which would satisfy the succubus in her but if he stayed then there would be a few problems.

Dubhlainn was given a little insight and deduced that her abilities may have been one of the reasons why she joined Savage Skull but he can’t help but shake the feeling that Kuro here is a Demi-human of sorts, the question is what race of demi-human does her power refer to? Dubhlainn himself was generally called as such because he was fused with demi-human essence which embodies the darkest concepts of Demi-humans themselves however he doesn’t even know what mix of essences was he fused with. Having an ability to tell demi-human from human comes in handy at times since a part of the compounded essence allows him to tell the presence of such beings but it has been decades since he last encountered Demi-humans such as the Minotaur or the Harpy. He’s utterly confused whether it’s his senses kicking in or that he was just fatigued and worried of what will happen to the sack of rats he left.

He didn’t utter a word and only responded with a nod and a relaxed expression on his face. In fact he entered the eatery and decided to go with her together; completely unaware of the internal struggle Kuro is having right now. Allowing her to go first he can’t help but move his lips but no sound escaped from them.

    Demi-human….

A few of their fellow guildmates were present here like usual atmosphere. Dubhlainn had to keep a close eye on Kuro for any reaction. Her ability from earlier sparked his curiosity as he slowly reverted to his stone face expression. “Kuro did you make the right decision in joining this guild?” To be honest Dubhlainn really wanted to know her intentions but he rather not step to anything personal yet. He can’t directly tell her that he knows something about her or sensed something about her but he has to confirm it, otherwise there would be confusion.

Despite her words her guildmate did not turn around and head back as she had expected him to. "Maybe he's just waiting for me to go on ahead..."Nervously, she turned her back to him heading towards the aroma of food, her nose better than the average human's. Along with a decent sense of smell came fairly good hearing, and she could definitely hear the Knight's footsteps behind her. Features going pale, an almost terrified expression crossing her face, Kuro did her best to keep walking. Surely, he was going to leave her alone after she had grabbed some food? Grabbing only the bare minimum, a scroungy piece of bread and jam Kuro found that the Knight had yet to leave her side.

Glancing about to find some place to sit, a place that would be more or less hidden from the prying eyes of any fellow guild members, Kuro sighed nervously. She couldn't help but have a complex feeling like all eyes were on her making her nervous when in reality not many acknowledged her existence. Slipping towards an isolated table, Kuro glanced back once more to see if the Knight was still following, and unfortunately he was but this time he had posed a question. Setting her plate upon the table, the glass dish clattering against the wood from the way her hands were shaking, Kuro turned once more to face Dubhlainn. She mused over the question though her eye looked towards the ground of habit. "Well," She began unsure of it she should tell the truth or rather how she should word it, "I think I did. I didn't have much of a say in it but it was out of necessity." She muttered a shadow falling across her features as if the memory wasn't a very fond one, "I mean they never listen to what I have to say when it comes to making decisions so when it came to joining the guild...My opinion was ignored but I guess not many judge us here. At least that is what I had hoped." Instead of judging her for what she harbored within her, she had no doubt she was being judged for her meek personality rather than the two malicious demons.

Her fear is understandable probably because Dubhlainn’s intentions were unknown to her or it was the fact that he kept following Kuro. He’d thought that he’d at least interact with a handful of members; Kuro would be one of those chosen. Her words says it all but it was not clear that it was either a lie or truth because Kuro here looked like that she was obliged to answer, she must have been afraid of punishment or whatever it maybe worries her greatly which is why her hands are constantly shaking.

He took a small sip of coffee as he paid close attention to Kuro as she answered, she avoided eye contact with him, though he can’t tell whether she’s lying or not it was probably purely out of fear for him. Her words barely made any sense to him who was she referring to “us”? Does she have friends around here? It was uncertain because when she came, she was all by herself. His hand hovered across the table to slightly raise her chin as his eyes met hers, noticing her eye patch.

    “Kuro…” Dubhlainn spoke monotonously.

“Would you like to go on a quest with me tomorrow?” A direct proposal, unfortunately his question may bring confusion to her and to those eavesdropping on their conversation. Dubhlainn would simply want to get to know her a bit better as well as a chance for Kuro to open up a bit. It’s hard to tell his expression since he wore a stone face.

At the sound of her name her gaze snapped up towards the knight once more. "A-A quest?" She inquired a bit confused as to why he would ask her to go on such a thing. None of their other guildmates had so much as acknowledged her let alone ask her to go on a job with them. By no means was she prepared for the question and hadn't really prepared an answer for that. There were a lot of things that could potentially go wrong when it came to missions with her. For starters one of her persona's could easily take control of her body.... However, it wasn't as if she could keep them a secret forever.

    "I suppose I can."

She finally responded, a little determined. She didn't want to say no to the first guild mate who had ever paid her any attention. If she asked Shiro and Kiro nicely perhaps they'd leave her alone for the course of the mission! If they didn't well.....At least she tried right? "Tomorrow then!" She confirmed before taking her measly scraps of food and scurrying off like a mouse.
