    According to all that we have now, abilities, perks, stat boosts, etc. most mages possess some superhuman traits; (strength, speed, endurance, etc.) but I have been thinking about whether these superhuman traits should be active non-stop, or whether they should just be active when channeling magic. So that when a mage is not using any magic, their bodies revert to a more human and slightly more fragile state.

    What do you think?

    Wouldn't this affect the traditional duration/cooldown requirements? I believe everything that makes a Mage even more supernatural should have a cost, at least.

    The problem is no set limit of abilities here. Having a lot of smaller abilities is great but if you wanted a massive ability or wanted to make your ability more amplified than others you would have to have fewer abilities.

    Like in Erza's case in canon. Aside from her S-rank level abilities as a mage and bladesman abilities, which are all trained...she has that super human strength of hers that's superior to Natsu's. That's really her only special abilty.

    Where as dragon slayers have dragon force, the ability to eat an element, and superior senses. Natsu actually from past events doesn't seem to have any amplified level of strength so we can assume that's something he developed with his magic. Whereas Erza seemed to be strong physically from the get go. Just a theory and a thought at 6:30 in the morning on no sleep so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or forgetting something.

    It is an interesting idea but I think the change may have more of a negative effect on rp. Since most players justification for not dieing instantly when being hit by high ranked magic is that they have superhuman bodies. With this everyone would be turned into a grade A glass cannon. All fights would be OHKO. Because our magic is too powerful for our fragile little bodies.


    However I would like some kind of system that benefits the "glass cannon" character type. Because right now the big mp saving corner cut is to add superhuman strength to your magic so that you can beat stuff up without using magic. Which works wonders for a character's ability to fight long battles. But it leaves all the people who don't want to be Major Armstrong high and dry.

    Maybe characters who do not have superhuman strength/endurance/ect can get extra mp or increased spell power?
