It was a typical day for Althea, filled to the brim with lots of sleeping and, erm, more sleeping.  She was just kind of sitting directly in front of the Fairy Tail office building, being just out of the way as to not get into anyone’s way.  The ribbon wearing mage had the distinct appearance of some kind of squatter, which, let’s be honest, she is.  However, the young girl was absolutely bored out of her mind.  Who knew that vacationing could get so vacant?  I mean, don’t get me wrong, Althea absolutely loved being in the Fairy Tail guild hall, it’s just that there wasn’t much for her to do there anymore.  She was still reeling from the changing of guildmasters to a degree that she wasn’t even in the mood for inhaling juice.  What else did Althea do in her free time other than just bum around Fairy Tail?  Frankly, nothing in particular.  Recently the young girl had been craving for a break from doing mage work, but the moment she stops she’s forced to realise she has absolutely zero hobbies.  Well, she could always talk to someone…

Wait, did Althea even have any friends?

The blonde was struck dumbfounded, her blue gaze blankly scanning the guild hall.  She didn’t even know half of the people there, what the heck?  They were all in Fairy Tail, right?  She couldn’t even tell, and she’d been in the guild for a pretty long time by now.  It was actually kind of shocking that the person who wanted to get to know people didn’t know anyone other than those she went on jobs with.  And recently she had been choosing to fly solo more often than not, limiting her human interaction even further.  How did she lose sight of one of her driving motivations?  If she was confronted by someone she’d attempt to befriend them, but outside of those circumstances she kind of isolated herself.  At this point Althea’s complexion was beginning to worsen.  She wanted to talk to people, but how do you just start talking to people, like, wasn’t that weird?!?!

She was surprisingly socially inept.  However, the blonde’s saviour soon came, conveniently falling right onto her head.

“Ack!  What the-?”  Althea took the sheet of paper off her head inspecting it briefly.  Suddenly, she got to her feet, eyes shining with the amazing idea she had.  Pumpkin picking was a great friend activity, right?  Yeah, she’d totally ask someone to do this thing with her.  Without hesitating for a moment she burst into the guild hall.  “QUICK, SOMEONE, COME WITH ME.”

Winchas would greet the day as she always would. No matter Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter, no season would dent her spirit to have a fresh morning. It was barely sunrise, just like Winchas likes it. Getting off her bed, she readies herself for the day. Clothes to wear, hygiene to do, and a schedule to follow. However, as she approaches the calendar, she spots something wrong. Today was empty, in fact, too empty. Every other day has some plans, even if it was minor. No plans to improve her guns with some adjustments, no ideas for new blueprints she could do, not even a shopping trip planned. Her toes tap the floor as she pondered this empty space on her calendar. What could she fill the day with? There was much to do, as her calendar was packed with legible scribbles, but only today was empty. Should she perhaps move the schedule forward? Do what was planned tomorrow and accomplish it today? Winchas idled on it for a moment, then she had an idea hit her head. Today, she was going to do something someone else wants to do!

The answer to her problem however, brought in a new one. Who shall she extend her day to? The guild master? No too busy, she might be too annoying to him. One of the guild members? That was a more likely answer, but there was no use pondering in her room. Grabbing her things, she curls her hands into a fist and looks into the mirror, giving herself the face of readiness. "Okay me! Let's do this."

Descending into the guild hall, she looks around the lively hall. The colors were certainly matching the theme of the season. Autumn colors, bright yellows, deep oranges and maple reds dotted the hall. There were pumpkins for the spooky times. She could even see one of the one she carved out beside the wall that looks it has the freshest coat of paint, a quick reminder how she blew it up. She pats her tool belt, which were full of not just the simplest of tools, but the most explosive of weapons. Grabbing breakfast, she continues to ponder in her head what she could do for the day. There were so many to help out. Should she go for someone big and soft? Or maybe the quirky? Then her call was answered in the sudden chill of the wind, the doors slamming wide open to invite the colored winds. Turning around, she hears the plea of need. It clicks. There is someone in need, and she is going to fulfill it. Finishing up, she approaches, and greets the guild ace with a smile.

"Ah! Althea, how nice of you to appear," Winchas smiled, giving the short girl a quick hug and a gentle headpat. "Listen, I'm in need of someone too. How about we help each other? Come, tell big sis Winchas what you need!" Winchas smiled. Hopefully it was not something intense. After all, guild aces were much more stronger than she was, and it was a job she cannot handle, it would be incredibly disappointing.

Althea beamed as a member of Fairy Tail readily approached her.  And of all people it was Winchas, one of the many people she hadn’t really held a proper conversation with.  The blonde let herself indulge in the pleasant hug and head pat, a satisfied smile spreading across her features.  “Oh yeah, there was this pumpkin thing, and-”  The youth paused in the middle of her sentence.  She hadn’t realized it before due to Winchas’s gentle greeting, but she was in a rush, right?  Who knew if there would even be enough pumpkins left to harvest by now with everyone in the entire town looking for them now.  Truly, it was a race of the ages, and in order for this social interaction to be effective they needed to win that race!  And thus she didn’t have time to waste going around and conversing!  Words took waayy too much time to come out of her mouth, and she’d have to be thinking and using her brain as well!  Althea pursed her lips, reaching out to hastily grab the silver haired woman’s hand.  “No time, must RUN!  Hold on tight!”

Honestly, if Althea was confident in anything it was her speed.  Due to her tendency to get incredibly motion sick on any sorts of transportation, she needed to get from one place to another somehow.  And at the point that she was at her maximum speed far outpaced that of a train.  Of course, in this instance running through Magnolia while literally running nine hundred meters per second wouldn’t be such a great idea, but anyone would agree that she was going pretty darn fast.  It was only appropriate since Althea didn’t actually have any idea where a pumpkin patch was.  She was trying to pick up the scent of some, but at this time of year literally everything smelt like pumpkins.  So, she just ended up running around while looking for a farm to “borrow” some large orange produce from.

“Aha!”  The teen finally stopped in an area rather far removed from any real signs of civilization, releasing Winchas.  The farm funnily enough consisted of only pumpkins, a run down barn noticeable in the far distance.  With not a single person in sight, this site was just about perfect for the slayer’s intentions.  It kind of had this spooky atmosphere, but it was really convenient.  “After this we can do the thing you wanted, Winchas!”  Why she didn’t ask the mage whatever she had in mind before dragging her out to the middle of nowhere, even Althea had no idea.  But what she did have a good picture of was the black cloud beginning to form overhead.

Winchas was listening with a smile as she gave the younger ace sisterly affectionate before finding herself confused. There was a pause, a sudden cut in Althea's sentence. What could be so rushed about pumpkins? Maybe there was a shopping sale of Pumpkins for Halloween and Althea didn't want to miss out? Or perhaps Althea had a favourite pumpkin dish that she needed help to prepare? Questions ran through the gunsmith's head before finding herself whisked away like a reaper and his spirit.

How such a small girl was reaching such speeds was not much a marvel, but it was still a fascination. Winchas knew the more experienced mages were faster, but she never knew the scale of it. Now she was experiencing it, unprepared. She nearly lost her hat to the drift. Her eyes could see only blurs, yet everything felt slow. It was the illusion of speed. Flashes of orange, black and yellow sprinkled her view before turning into a ghastly green and purple. It was the stop she was worried about.

And when the stop came, Winchas found herself in lag shock. Her mind was blank, trying to register where she is. The engineer was quick to gain composure however, and she sighed, rubbing her aching shoulder. It was a miracle it was not torn off, but it did hurt and feels numb. No injuries luckily. The silver haired looks around the sinister looking place, dotted with large orange goodies ripe for the season picking.

"Right..." Winchas replied. Winchas wanted to help someone, and now here she was. Checking her gun for a second, she put it away as she finds a sign covered in gourd vines. Reading it made her question the idea of arriving here. It was not a welcoming sign. In deep red letters, it read "Keep Out!" and the paint smears to the side on the dot of the exclamation point, like blood from a dying hand writing its last words. "So? What do you need help with? I see plenty of pumpkins ready to be pick-"

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," An old, wise sounding voice, calls out to the two. A farmer, standing on a single leg, leaning against a crooked fence. His straw hat matches the dirty blond hair. They could not see his face however, the place being too dark to see. As he wiped with a dirty rag what looks like a bottle, he continues. "Many try to pick the fresh lot here only to never return." The man adjusts his overalls, and disappears when Winchas and Althea no longer face him. Confused, she readies her gun.

"Listen sweetie, you go pick the pumpkins you like! I'll go visit the barn and see if a farmer is willing to let us pick his goods okay?" Winchas hoped it was an agreed on plan, last thing they need was to steal pumpkins. Sure they could pay up but honest work like all these pumpkins is never bought with money.
