Job Description: During one of the elemental tides that transpired decades ago, many a ship had been sunk along with its people and cargo when a Water Elemental Lord decided to swallow all of Cedar up into the ocean. Though a team of mages took the Lord out before it could do so, many fishing boats, merchant vessels and military vessels had been sunk in the wake of the massive whirlpool the lord had created off the shore. For some reason or another, ever since that Elemental Tide begins with the bright eclipse, battered ships appear out in the distant ocean. As reports have been coming in of ghost ships attacking and sinking other vessels out in the cloud sea, they usually come accompanied with a thick fog and strange sounds from beneath the waves. While few survive these encounters, they all tell similarly frightening tales, which for the average mage makes it not worth taking on. While most leave it because it feels like just another ghost story, others refuse to take it because of the fact that these things take place out at sea, out of their comfort zone, thus making it a problem for the navy to deal with.
Enemies: Through some unseen, unknowable force down in the ocean's depths, the vessels and men who were sucked down into the whirlpool were given an option: Drown, or be changed forever to do his bidding. As such, an armada of ships inhabited by strange, mutated creatures was born to do the bidding of this lord of the depths. Attacking other ships, making them sink and offering them the same deal, every sinking ship increases the forces of this dark god. It is therefore your job to eradicate these minions of the depths, as well as utterly destroying the ships so no new forces can be marshaled.
