Start Your Engines! (Job/Solo)

Elvira arched her back, yawning wide in the light of the early morning sun as she leaned up against the motorcycle she was renting for her licensing test. It was a solid machine, one of the newer models powered by it's own independent magical energy, as opposed to that of the driver. Her eyes were starting to close again, getting up early enough to get into the Motor City DMV was proving more challenging than she'd imagined. Still, she'd been practicing for months and was determined to get this right.

A man with an angular, blocky, build that implied magical transformation walked quickly up to her carrying a clipboard.

"Good morning Ms. Arcade. My name is Mr. Kubrick and I'll be conducting your evaluation today. Shall we run down the checklist and make sure everything is functioning?" He said, looking in every direction but hers. She nodded and the pair began checking off items, making sure everything from the ethernano indicator to the tail lights were functioning correctly. Satisfied, he motioned to the bike.

"Climb aboard and let's take you on a nice easy route through the city."

"Sounds good." She said, mounting the machine and waiting for her instructor to slide on behind her. One of the fortunate things about doing this at the crack of dawn was there was little traffic to impede her as she followed her passenger's directions and pulled out onto the highway. However from that point forward things began going down hill rather quickly. The instructor, a rather talkitive gent, seemed more interested in pointing out various attractions Motor City had to offer than actually directing her.

"Which way now?" She shouted over the hum of the engines.

"Right over there!" He pointed, prompting Elvira to turn off. "Is where they make the best fish tacos on the east side!"

Elvira realized too late she had been falsely led into onto an unfinished road; Motor City's sometimes haphazard street construction meant that no sooner than she'd turned --she was faced with a series of winding, partially connected and half-finished roadways. The high speed limit on the highway also meant turning around or breaking wasn't an option at this point, leaving her no choice but to grit her teeth and jam the accelerator.

The bike rocketed ahead, prompting screams from the inattentive man behind her as she slid left and aimed straight at the construction ramp parked beside the wide gap in the raised roadway ahead. With a final burst of speed the cycle went rocketing over the chasm, just barely staying in control as she rapidly spun it to and fro through a series of incredibly tight turns, doing her best to allow the tire friction to slow them down safely as she navigated the impromptu obstacle course.

Finally the bike came to a stop, just in time for them to have made it safely back to the edge of the main highway.

"Where now?" She asked her shaking companion, who didn't respond. She decided to calmly turn around and head back down the main road, returning to the front of the DMV, disembarking with a cheerful smile.

"How'd I do?" She asked.

"Y-you p-p-pass." He said, still shaking as he disembarked and stumbled back inside.
