Going on a job... with the Guild Ace? There was pressure, and then there was the crushing weight of performance in front of the certified strongest wizard in Fairy Tail. What was he even supposed to do? It'd all happened so fast, the Old man begging for help, and Miss Everglade had been nearby to overhear. He supposed it was a blessing, as they could rescue the town much faster with her along, but... it formed a knot in his stomach. It was obvious that he'd just end up embarrassing himself.

He rested against a tree outside the small town. Calm down, Aven, she'll be here any minute, and you need to be on your game. This is your chance to prove yourself! They were meeting outside the town, to make a plan of attack. He already had several ideas, having observed the enemy's movements for a few hours, their regular patrols unruly and unprofessional. They had guns, but that was about it, he couldn't sense a drop of magic. Still, he'd defer to Rina's plan, whatever it was: she'd know much better than him what to do in this situation, all he could do was pay close attention and learn from her.

That's right, this was also his chance to learn more about how a real Wizard fights! Every second he missed of her fighting was a missed opportunity. He stood and shook the jitters out of his body, shifting the orb on top of his cane in anticipation. It was almost time!

Rina remembered earlier that day, on how she was just bored out of her mind. Doing paperwork for the guild wasn't as fun as she thought it would be, but no matter because she was able to eavesdrop on multiple amazing conversations. Such as the fact that one of the members were pregnant and another was...having an affair with their best friend. Rina wondered how much worse these secrets could get if she just kept listening. She didn't even want to think about the fact, so she decided that she had to take a little break from the spot and her work. As she walked up to the bar and got her usual apple juice, she listened to an old man speaking behind her. It seemed like he was requesting someone to do a job for him. It didn't sound too hard of a job for Rina but for the weaker source behind her, she knew that would be slight trouble. As she turned around, it seemed to be the guildmember she initiated, Aven. More things come after the next and it just creates a chain reaction that led them to the point in time that they were in now.

With a smile on her face, Rina walked towards the area Aven and her decided to meet. She looked for him but couldn't find him yet. It was odd not seeing him, but she realized something was wrong. As she looked towards the map she followed, she saw that the whole thing was upside down. Frantically she turned it around to see the actual direction of the area. As she ran towards it, she hoped that her guildmate wouldn't think badly about her.

It took maybe an hour or so for her to actually get to the spot she promised Aven they would meet at. She looked to see him in the distance as she waved out and screamed to him, "Hi!!!"

Thirty minutes later, Aven sighed. So, she wasn't punctual, that wasn't a glaring problem, though getting started before nightfall would definitely be best. Typically, watchmens' alertness raised at night, as would their response time to any attacks. When he finally caught sight of her, she performed a very boisterous greeting. His eyes widened slightly, hoping their adversaries hadn't heard. He waved silently with a smile, gesturing her over without a word. Was it possible that she really was just like a normal young girl, but with incredible magic power? It remained to be seen, but he expected to be wrong.

Once within a safe speaking range, Aven greeted her, starting with a briefing. "Hello, Miss Rina! I've been keeping a watch on their guard, there's a gap in their rotation a little to the east. If we slip in there on their next change, we should eat past without any trouble." Aven had heard from the old man, they had only one wizard to deal with, a fire user. "What are your thoughts? Personally, I think dispatching the Wizard first would be best."

Rina saw as her friend was on the hill near the village. It seemed to be an area that was mostly maintained with marble. She was astonished by how well the village could do so much with just one type of stone. Marble was beautiful in its many ways, which was why Rina couldn't help but look at it in awe. Aside from that though, Rina could see as Watchmen were scattered all around the area. Although some were hardly visible, she was able to center her senses onto the mages. They seemed to have holder magic, something she was familiar with due to her past magic. Their guns weren't as strong as she would expect but she knew they were probably skilled at what they do to keep the area cleared like this.

As she observed the area, she heard a voice coming from her partner. He seemed to come up with a plan, that was reasonable but one that was probably the riskiest out of them all. As she looked back at him, she said, "Your plan seems good so far but out of my experience it's not the best plan we have right now. For one, if they find out that we got their master, they would all gang up on us at once and I'm positive that that's a lot of people. Second, I was able to use my sensory abilities and pinpoint the locations of 5 people with magical weapons. I assumed that the weapons were guns because I used to have requip magic. It allowed me to have a better sense of weaponry and types of weaponry within Fiore. So, I assumed they were snipers or the most advanced watchmen of them. If I'm correct, then they would surely see us and pull an alarm making us vulnerable. My idea is to take out the snipers first and then close in on the wizard and take him out." Her eyes were focused and firm as she looked back out into the village. She knew that she had to make the best out of her position as an ace. She couldn't let someone in her guild make a rookie mistake and die. If they did that in the future, she would feel like she were to blame. She promised herself that she wouldn't let anyone on her watch die, like how her father did. She knew that she would go back to that depressive state, and she might not be able to fight it this time.

Aven nodded, that plan made sense. Underestimating their opponents could be fatal, it was much safer to take out the sentries. With a silent agreement, they split up, and start dispatching the snipers. Aven used his Inertia Circle to ascend the wall, methodically stunning his targets a quick strike of an empowered lightning circle on his Cane, before knocking them unconscious with a swift blow to the neck. He repeated this once more, quickly and silently, leaving the other three to Rina.

It was a small area, but it seemed they'd timed their assault just right, the bandits completely unsuspecting. Aven snuck in between the buildings, keeping an eye out for the entrance to the mine, where they were going to rendezvous. He was sure the Wizard was close, he could feel their presence.

Rina dashed towards the snipers with speed as she lunged at them with her spear. She made sure that the spear wasn't sharp so that it wouldn't kill them. She never wanted to see someone die again, so when she got the spear, she dulled it. As she jabbed them with the spear, they clenched their stomach as they fell to the ground. They seemed to be knocked out which seemed very good for Rina. What that meant, was that she could meet back up with Aven and fight the wizard leader.

As she walked through the door, she heard a booming voice from the wizard as he looked back with curiosity. He laughed a tiny bit as he said to Rina, "Hahaha, they sent you? Who would ever send a woman to fight me? This is just funny, hilarious even." As he laughed away, Rina dashed forward quickly as she jabbed the man in the stomach. He was knocked back into the wall behind him as Rina stood over him. She looked down towards him and said mockingly, "Wow, they sent me to fight you? I can't believe your so strong." As she stood over him, she looked at Aven and said to him, "Why don't you fight him. It will be a good way for me to see your magic and plus, this guy might have a fair chance to win. I'll just sit here and cheer you on!" The mage rolled his eyes as he sent a fireball towards her partner.

Aven's eyes widened as she let the weaker Wizard free, and Scorch loosed a fireball errantly straight at his chest. Aven began a quick calculation of the situation: he was effectively left to deal with Scorch alone, and from the looks of it, the Wizard used primarily Fire. Aven danced to the side, the flames licking his sleeve. That meant that he'd be employing area of effect attacks, rather than precision, and likely a good number of them. Inertia Circle would be useless, as it only effected objects with mass, not energy, which left him with Blink, Overcharge, and Lightning Circles to work with. In that case, the best plan of action would be to mark him with Tsae, then hit him with both an empowered Lightning Circle empowered Overcharge, then Overcharge him from a distance. The problem became, of course, that he could use that time to escape, so Aven devised a different plan.

Aven twirled his cane, causing three magic circles to appear at the orb on the end, one silver, one azure, and one yellow. The Silver shattered instantly, and the yellow began to pulse. Immediately after, his body morphed quickly, growing in size, musculature, and becoming a solid black, glowing Emerald etchings scattered along his then exposed torso and arms. Scorch' eyes widened considerably, and he immediately coated himself in flames, hucking another fireball. Aven dashed forward with incredible speed, passing straight through the fireball, taking the damage and catching Scorch off guard. Teeth gritted, Aven struck the fire wizard in the chest with the orb of his cane, the Circles on the end triggering and causing a a jumble of arcane and Lightning energy to flow into him, stunning him. Aven took the opportunity to hoist the wizard by the scruff and hurl him upwards in the ceiling, at the same time extending his hands and blasting him with two beams of dark energy. As the winded mage fell back down, face first, Aven caught him with a knee to the abdomen, specifically the solar plexus, to once again keep him winded, and followed up with a two handed smash to the back, sending Scorch onto the ground, where Aven blasted him twice again with the beams from his hands.

Aven stepped back, the burns inflicted by Scorch's flame coating slowly fading away as he reverted back into his normal form. Rolling his shoulders, Aven poked the wizard with his cane. Unconscious. He turned to Rina with a grin. "That should wrap up the hard part. Let's clean up the rest of the rabble, then blow this joint."
