The sound of music wafted through the empty tavern of the guild. Or at least mostly empty. There were a few people here and there. Some enjoying the music and others completely unconcious from intoxication. Yet it was not to these that the player of the music was paying attention. In truth, he was not really paying attention to anyone at all. He was merely standing in the room a cane at his lips playing tunes of such rare beauty they could make a stone statue weep. Or at least that was how it began. Soon after he began playing he dropped the cane down to the ground level and began to tap the ground rapidly to the same tune as he began to dance whilst drinking a drink of alcohol.

He smiled to himself and sat down on a chair still tapping his foot to a tune that now only he could hear. Rhythmic movements and music were almost built into his very nature. Or at least they were when he was not being serious. He had nothing to focus his attentions on recently as inspiration for new inventions had not been striking him and his company was expanding nicely. He had joined the guild as a diversion and to use its resources and members to help him further expand by eliminating competition and discovering rare resources. Of course, he hadn't told them all that. It was a fool who revealed all his cards straight away.

"Boredom is rather irritating." he said in his usual melodious almost hypnotic tones.

It was a rather good day for Tex, she had lured a guild mate to play a game of dice with her. The guild hall being located where it was didn't provide much and being a dark guild meant there were lots of people with statutes and money. Today's game with the man was dice and she was determined that he was going to try to cheat her, most people tried. The man had simply requested to use his own dice which Tex was fine with under the petenses that she got to use her own as well...poor fool accepted. The game today was fairly simple, who ever got the lowest number won, sapposivly a game of pure chance unless you were a cheat. Tex had three cup in front of her and simply gestured her hand for him to pick one. One was wooden, one was a thick plastic, and one was metal. The man grins smoking a cigar with confidence and then offered Tex a deal. "You can back out now" He said grinning like an idiot. Tex simply smiled "Please pick a cup." With that the man put his six dice in the wooden cup and shook it. as he shook the cup slamming it down. As he raised it they were all six were ones. Loaded dice were quite common at her table in the tavern but it didn't matter to much to her. People were gathered smirking around the table. Tex reached for the metal cup putting her dice in and an air of confusion went through the air as she put her normal dice in it and shook it. "You can't win..." he grunts bitterly. Tex said nothing but shook the cup rather violently then slammed it hard on the table making a loud bang then took a breath and smiled lifting it up. There were five ones and a pile of dust. The mans cigar fell out of his mouth and looked and Tex simply smile "Five ones looks like I win..." with that the man got up throwing his arms knocking all the dice stuff of the table across the room and stormed out. Tex sat there calm but smiling looking around gathering her dice then seeing the guild mate Felix who was looking bored and smiled "Felix would you be so kind as to get me that five by your feet." She would smiled unsure if it was a five or not though if she truly was lucky it was otherwise what kind of talent was it.

With a small gesture of his hand, as if conducting a band, the dice was caused to rise into the air without changing its direction or orientation and landed directly in front of her. Strangely, it appeared to be held in a small glass made of ice, which almost instantly faded away into vapor and then he himself walked over.

"A lucky guess that it turned out to actually be a five. Otherwise..." he said and shrugged. "...I wouldn't of known what to pick up at all. Well, without guessing anyway. So what did you win from our friend?" He helped reset the table whilst he awaited an answer. He suspected that the man had gone off without paying, but in truth he hadn't been paying that much attention. He didn't need to. He had foreseen many things about this evening and Tex winning another game of dice via her strange luck had been one of them. However, whether he paid or not had been a mix of many possible scenarios. Violence on his part, further cheating from both, demands for another game with higher stakes. Many possibilities.

"Though in truth a game of dice is not much of a challenge for luck, even with six dice. There are many possibilities, but they only result in three possibilities. You win, you lose or you draw. Then again most games are like that, but at least in others there is a chance to use other skills than raw luck." Games of chance were a good way to gain money if you had a good way of knowing that you'd win without being caught. Then again with his method of choice being caught was highly unlikely. Near impossible. In fact, you'd need luck perhaps even greater than Tex's in order to catch him out.

"Tex looked at the man as he leaned at her table which was a very ornate table that is very fancy compared to other tables in the tavern which is why it was hers, smiling at him briefly as he inquired about her payment from the man which made a smile go across her lips as she looked at the man as he finished. "Oh I assure you he payed me more then you know" She said giggle a little. The despair that man felt losing publicly again the const feeling of failure drew him in despair which made Tex beyond happy, It was better then money for her so it was never a problem when they walked off on her since she knew they'd be back.

She then looked at the man again "Would you care to play a game with me?" She said offering a deat at her table which was rare for her to do. Normally people demand to play her and just sit at her table, she makes them lose and leave so it was very rare to offered a seat at her table by her at least, But something was different about him...yes he might provide a game for her so she smiled hoping he accepted. Though if he didn't it was fine however she was rather curious about him regardless.

"You may even pick the game any game can be set up here" She said wanting him to take a seat. however for more reasons then just a game, She wanted knowledge and well this way was far more fun. " she then took her hand back and waited for him to sit or not to sit as she smiled again. At the very least he hoped that he'd dit down for a chat since there were no contenders for her to play against and she didn't feel like practicing her luck. She then justsmiled at him hoping he'd accept.

The possibilities went through his mind of what might happen if he decided to take the seat. Many games were possible to play with chance and it seemed a game like that would be ideal. He sat down calmly and looked at her with a slight smile on his face. "A game of cards seems more appropriate as it has some skill rather than raw luck." he said with that slightly melodic turn to his voice. It made a person want to listen and to some extent obey the voice though right now he wasn't using it for that purpose. It was just his words.  "Let us keep it simple and play the game I believe is called Hosenka Hold'Em." The game was exactly the same as the game Texas Hold'Em, but being a different world where Texas doesn't exist another name came forth and this was that name.

He pulled out a sealed deck of cards from his pocket and placed them on the table. "A sealed pack of cards. A completely ordinary deck. So no way of cheating from either of us wouldn't you agree?" he said placing the sealed pack down. "I will even let you open the packet and shuffle if you don't trust me." He paused and then his smile turned into a smirk. "Now the question is what are we putting down as the wager?"
