Private METHOD TO MY MADNESS ♦ job

Post by Guest 23rd September 2016, 2:51 pm

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ A Rank

Fingers traced the edges of a soul as she walked along, happy with the latest contract that she had just secured only days ago. It had gone further, however, and now she had stolen half of that one poor person’s soul. What had he wanted? Simply put, he had desired power, which was beyond common. In the end, that wish was usually one’s downfall. Nevertheless, she had not forced the fate on them, like any average Daemon would in one of their harsh contracts. Instead, she gave those she met a choice, and watching them juggle the options under the pressure of time was always amusing.

The soul in her hand was only half of one, really. She had broken it from its other half, the instant Taige had gone too far, and had provoked her already stifled anger to a violent outburst. The spirit had been happy to torture the young one, and by the end of it, make off with half of his soul. What did a soul look like? Simple- it was like an orb of light, with a blaze of a specific color ebbing off of it, almost as if it were a flame. Each color and the shame of the blaze could be unique to a certain soul or creature in general. Humans, specific demons, gods, angels, yokai, specific monsters… it all varied. Their souls each were different, and for a being who had consumed and collected souls into her own essence for so long, she knew the structure and their signatures quite well.

The one she held onto was very weak, and not even worth consuming or crushing. Preferably, she would dispose of it and allow it to wander as a lost soul. If that were done, it would perhaps have potential to be more entertaining in the future, possibly. Right now, the young blonde-haired human-shaped spirit had other ideas. She would give the half-soul away to someone as a gift. There were multiple choices of who to deliver the special little ‘present’ to, including her ‘children’. However, she could only pick one out of the three, but who really was worth giving the gift to? Who would entertain the Daemon mother the most?

For now, she would hold onto the soul. There was no more time to think of what use or potential that it might have, not with another thing calling to her mind. Her own soul was lucky enough to be split into many fragments, scattered about and ready for her to use at a moment’s notice. One of them she had embedded within the spirit of another- a young tanuki yokai who seemed to have enough potential to possibly entertain. So why not? However, that person was about to wander into dangerous territory; a plane which would prove to be the last place she should go. It was beneficial for the blonde girl, however, who now had a general idea of who she would give her miniscule gift of half a soul to. Better yet, entertainment and amusement would surely come, or so her precognition told her. All she had to do was push her consciousness back into the soul she had housed inside the simple tanuki, and from there, she could begin her little endeavor.

    ♦ ♦ ♦

There had always been rules regarding who could take jobs and who could not. Every single guild had them, and as much as Izayuki wanted to take on a ten or one hundred year job, she could not due to her rank and the strict laws binding all mages, even guildmasters, to only take on jobs they were capable of taking in regards to power. Thus, the Bakedanuki had to settle only on an S rank job, and thanks to the rules, she could not take it alone. Because of that, the Guild Master of Black Rose had decided to ask her Ace of Hearts, Jiyu Kazehime, to go along with her.

The tanuki yokai did not know the dog demon very well, but had trusted her enough to make her an ace, and watch her rather quickly ascend to becoming both A-rank and earlier on, a Rising Star of Iza’s own former position. Despite knowing the risks of being in Pergrande Kingdom, the two Black Rose mages had briskly made their way to the community. Upon arriving, Izayuki had hidden her tanuki features and tried to ensure that she appeared to be just another average human. With her skills, she hid her magic presence entirely, and simply walked alongside her other canine friend, wishing the best for them both, and ready to begin with little mission. It would not be long before they ran into their clients, and after that, the adventure would really begin.

Kazehime had intended to slow down for a little to make sure her growth in power was able to proceed at full potential, maybe enjoy life a small percentage more. Yet thing’s had still been hectic for the wind mage lately, even though she had chosen to try and take things easy this time around. Even when she tried to stay out of trouble? The nearly calico woman failed with hardly any chance at actually completing that desire, because the young mage was like a magnet for trouble and it was like an addiction to the girl in return. Even when she nearly died doing something, the canine was back for more the very next day, it was reckless and ridiculous, but she did it anyways. Marschal likely wasn’t happy with the danger she was almost constantly putting herself in, but nothing could be done for that, the drunken mage could not follow her all the time, and she had things to accomplish anyways. Perhaps that was a bit callous. Anyway’s, the rules were likely one of the few reasons the Ace had even made it this far in one piece, but now that she was this far along the track. The weak bodied mage had become a force to be reckoned with. While her physical form remained almost useless, the magic she possessed grew stronger by the day, much time spent honing her skills and ensuring she would stay as close to on top she could be. Even among the Aces of the guild she belonged to? Well she wanted Izayuki to be the only one in the Guild who was stronger than she was, and that was because the tanuki was technically the alpha and her inner dog could respect that, since it had pretty much always been that way.

Jiyu had accepted to do one of Iza’s tasks with her recently. Promptly after accepting she had wished she rejected, but she couldn’t back out once she told the female she would do it. The thing that made Kazehime frightened of this new job when she had never feared one before? In order to take this mission they had to traverse an area that was extremely anti-magic, and the mage was overflowing with it, alongside her inhuman features clearly marking her. Traveling to this country was pretty much as bad as facing a horde of demon slayers, and yet her guild-master had taken the task! Jiyu could barely breath as she thought of the complications ahead, and she certainly had gotten almost no sleep the night before they set out.

Izayuki was standing ready when she came down, and the Inu reminded herself that the tanuki had no way of knowing just how hard this might become on her. At least? She didn’t think the other female would have asked if she knew. Jiyu looked much different from normal, a long dress worn on her and cloak with hood positioned on her shoulders, hiding her demonic features from sight. Unlike the shifter before her, Jiyu would only be able to actually take a human form without assistance when her night of weakness came, and even now she was unaware of it. The wind user walked close to Iza, keeping her head down the whole time, trying her best not be noticed whatsoever. However here and there, children who are much more sensitive to the otherworldly and fantastical than adults, would glance at the shrouded woman, luckily each time they looked away thinking themselves wrong or such. “How much longer Iza?” the female bit down on her lip, taking another step closer, playing with her finger’s, thought the act could not be seen past her cloak. If she had to keep this up much longer? The canine youkai was not sure it she would survive, she wasn’t drawing attention, but just the knowledge of the brutality that faced them if they were discovered, it was enough to get to the teenager.

The pregrande kingdom, a place filled with warriors who opposed the usage of magic. They relied on strength rather than tricks to win a fight, which for the now shorter girl brought about a kinship level of respect, but only in the sense of fighting. The rest of their policies were foolish, they shouldn't restrict themselves, but instead be able to fight and live as they pleased, so long as they did so with honor. Most lacked said honor, however, this was a kingdom, after all, they attempted to stab each other in the back in order to increase their sense of false status, status should be earned not schemed. This is why the kingdom, at least in Sharp's eyes, fell by the wayside and she gained a detestable loathing for the nation as a whole, their warriors she would fight without a second thought in honorable combat, but the people, they were almost all filth. Living their lives while viewing that other forms of potential combat and self-improvement were worthless, was just unacceptable to her. Now the choice to actually fight with or without a handicap was fine, as the warriors trained under harsh conditions to match those who had magic, but the people who discarded magic for their lives, and instead schemed against their fellow man without much thought, they were the scum that deserved to be slaughtered in unhonorable combat. Why would I bring all of this up, well it's not just for filler, in reality, this is why Sharp was here she was trying to root out deceit in all of its forms, and thus mansion that supposedly existed within this kingdom, was no different.

Many in the cult had informed her about it, and now she viewed it as a job to take on. While she hadn't signed up proper, that didn't bother Sharp her duty was to her ethic's and principals not to another nation or laws. As Sharp arrived in the small town, she gazed around at some of the horrid states of it, and while it might not look horrid to the average eye, she saw oppression and struggle in the people's eyes, but from their own kingdom or if it was from the mansion, she had yet to know. This is why she was here, to figure out the main cause of their problems and to potentially seed some people within this kingdom for a potential take over later on. While that was a lofty goal, it could work at the end of the day, since oppression bred resentment, and through their own power, these people could become free once again to do as they willed. While her normally all magic body would be a massive problem for the country Sharp had learned how to hide her magical signature from those who weren't nearly as skilled as her, combine that with her cloak letting her change her clothes and she could slip by a surprising amount of defenses, still though she had to fight her urge to battle her way through them anyway as, even with purpose, she felt sneaking was dishonorable.

Arriving at the front of the mansion Sharp would try to inspect the place before going in proper, she didn't wish to just rush in foolishly and ruin any chance she had of a fair fight, and at the same time didn't wish to fall into the trap of the enemy within.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ A Rank

Sure, the Inu appeared to have some trouble concealing her features without shapeshifting. Once in a while, a kid would be suspicious, but would eventually move along on his or her merry way. "Not long, and don't say my name here. I'm sure they know the names of all of Earthland's major guilds and guildmasters," Izayuki whispered, before beginning to hum to herself again. It was a very old dance tune from decades ago that she had heard, but upbeat and fun and easy to hum and whistle to. As for the Ace of Heart's demon features showing, the Guild Master had quietly been attempting to use her own illusions to conceal any suspicion of her guildmate. It would not be apparent or evident to anyone, as the perception manipulation did not use any magic. It was a simple trick of the tanuki, and one that the yokai chose to keep subtle.

It was not long before they were safely arrived in the area of their client- an entire neighborhood living in fear of a certain building. For them to go out of their way to hide magic users to take care of their problems in a nation that hated and rejected magic altogether... they certainly were serious about this. The Guild Master of Black Rose had no reason to even ask the client of the whereabouts of their 'problem'. The Decrepit Mansion stood out like a sore thumb at the end of the street, with a giant yard shrouded in pale mists. The trees out in front of the structure seemed dead and withered, but somehow still had dry leaves rattling and sending out chilling sounds as the haunted breeze passed through them. Izayuki had no need to approach anyone to ask or to tell them they were here. The few people who dared be outside of their dwellings had already caught sight of the pink-haired mage and her cloaked friend. The Bakedanuki lowered her illusion, even if Jiyu had probably not needed it. It was better to be safe than sorry.

Strangely, out in front of the rotting mansion was a rather young-looking girl who bravely stood right before it. As Izayuki entered the main yard and radius of the Decrepit Mansion, she instantly noticed the sky was not the same as before. It was white, like paper, and empty, with mists surrounding most of what could be seen that was not close by. The Bakedanuki gazed back towards the pink-haired girl, a bit confused. Was she another mage here to help them? Izayuki knew better than to underestimate the young. Surely no average person would be this close to the haunted structure. "Who might you be?" the yokai asked in a casual tone, with a calm expression, before casting her pink eyes back towards the mansion. It was like a traffic accident; impossible to look away. Something was compelling about the place, but what could it be? It was almost as if the giant house was familiar, even if Izayuki had never seen it or anything like it before in her life. Just what was the mystery behind the peculiar place?

The children were seriously becoming an alarming entity to the canine, it seemed the further into this land they traveled, the more she would be side eyed. Of course? It was also not every day that you saw someone wearing an outfit that covered their whole body, concealing their face by keeping it down. Kazehime hoped that their reason for staring at her, was related to her outfit, instead of suspicion she might be inhumane and a mage. A small huff was the reply she managed to her Guildmaster, not a single word coming from her thin set lips, small steps becoming slightly faster, in the hopes they would arrive swifter. Hopefully once they were going on the mission? She would not be required to hide this way. Jiyu had once wanted to keep her youkai status hidden for everything that could discover it, but now  that she had grown comfortable with her life state, it felt weird to hide herself as if she was something evil, a being that shouldn’t exist. Even if her mother was dead and her father had fallen into the bottom of a bottle? They had loved her when they chose to have her, known she was half one species and half another, that was all she really needed, thought it had taken her time to realize it, past her own anger of her dromant blood being hidden from her. Kazehime bit her bottom lip as she tried to control her brain once more, breathing heavy as she tried to keep tabs on it, taking another step closer to Izayuki. Normally the female was better at stealth stuff, going around as if she was doing nothing wrong or such! However, in a place like this, she was just too frightened to think clearly. Without someone like Marschal whose mere presence was a security blanket for the scarred mage? Jiyu was clearly having a hard time trekking towards their objective. Too bad she didn’t know when to give up, being the stubborn dog she was.

A small hand reached out towards the color of darkness, the fabric coming closer, finger’s whitening as she clutched the ebony item tightly, her nails nearly digging into it as she tugged. Normally the wind mage tried not to show when she was afraid, her height already made her look weak and defenseless. However, now that they were standing in the courtyard, her stomach suddenly hit the ground, bile rising up her throat, body beginning to shake out of her control, body temperature spiking, her skin felt as if it was burning. Jiyu grabbed the sleeve of her guildmaster’s dark colored shirt, nearly tearing the item in her grasp, both of her eyes wide with fear she had no control over. Kazehime had this reaction once before, back when she went after Lilith, when the girl caused supernatural phenomenon, she recognized this malicious magnetic touch creeping up her body and trying to cover her mouth, attempting to suffocate her beneath it. “Be careful.” her voice was softer than normal, body visibly shaking as she looked down and stepped closer, to stand in the protect of Iza’s shadow, glancing up with timid eyes as she trembled. How was she suppose to inform her guildmaster of what was going on when they were suppose to be hiding their mage status?! The canine had a slightly flushed face from her body temperature rising, the electrical fields beginning to creep into her body, making her stomach churn and her other hand to shoot forward, using the other woman to ensure she did not fall over. One person as an audience didn’t matter! The Ace of hearts knew she had to tell Izayuki what was causing her sudden clingy behavior. “There’s something seriously wrong with this place.” a small little laugh came from the dog demoness as she danced several steps back, grinning sadistically as she looked at her companion and the stranger. “Of course, playing with paranormal activity or whatever is causing these electrical fields might end up fun~” suddenly her mentality on this place seemed to shift as she chuckled, head leaning back slightly as she hummed and swayed her body. By now, her body had been infected so to speak, the electrical fields of this place seeped into her body and it struggled to figure out how to handle the odd signals.

“It’s all very boring standing here, why don’t we go have some fun and play in the mansion, hmm?“
she cocked her hips to one side, finger’s laced in front of herself, chest pushed out as she gave them nearly puppy dog eyes, smiling sweetly. Nothing the wind mage was doing made sense now. “C’mon, we’re here, might as well go inside, we’re not learning anything besides the fact this place has whacky electrical fields by standing out here~” she attempted once more to get everyone to go inside, despite the fact she had been terrified of that building seconds ago, tail wagging enough it causes her dress and cloak to shift around, displaying that something was beneath them, ears twitching from their hidden place beneath her hood.

Couldn't Sharp just stand still in one location looking at a mysterious house for a few minutes in peace, she had to try and get her edge lord on if she ever wanted to stand next to Chaoris when he was in his weird get up with the skull mask. She didn't try to judge him, but at the same time do you know how intimidating a short body with cute pigtailed pink hair was? Not very, she was about as intimidating as a puppy, which was probably better for stealth, but not for the brutal nature of combat. She missed her older form, even if certain assets tended to get in her way during combat, at least she looked a bit scarier than she did now, then again she hadn't seen Chaoris really in a while only knew of his exploits so he might like it, or he wouldn't care and would just want to stab something. Probably the latter. Regardless, back on topic, now she couldn't try and be brooding like she was before, then again she was emotionally dead before so it was just being normal.

Turning to look towards the, now apparently, a group of others walking up to this mansion, Sharp didn't know what to think about them, one was being far more broody and fidgety than Sharp ever could be, and the other looked completely normal, and that was the alarming part. One wasn't just normal anywhere, she was hiding something, while the others emotions were running rampant. This was a most disturbing development, and they seemed to be dangerous in multiple ways. Sharp would draw her blade and try to battle both of them right now if she wasn't focused on the task at hand since they seemed like they would provide a good fight. One of them asked who Sharp was, while the other seemed to yell babble and wished to enter the mansion right away, or at least that's what Sharp gathered from it, the tone was off so it could have been a lie.

"I am one like I assume you are, here to take care of this mansion, though we may have different goals."

Again, with a higher tone she found that she wasn't nearly as somber or intimidating right now with her voice, hopefully, that meant that she wouldn't have as much difficulty dealing with them or appearing as too weird or distant, even if that was pretty impossible for her. Years of being emotionally dead tended to make you a bit socially awkward, even if you can understand them thoroughly.

"Are you here for the same goals as myself? The destruction of this place that weaves lies, if so I recommend you keep your friend under control, they are shaking, and potentially dangerous."

Moving her right hand up slightly to her hidden hilt of her energy blade, she was going to be prepared just in case this was going to turn into a right and proper fight. She doubted it, but she didn't want to take a cheap shot before a proper battle had gotten started, that would bring her shame.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ A Rank

As Izayuki walked, humming the happy tune to herself, she suddenly felt the weight from behind and her arm fall backwards into the air as Jiyu tugged on her dark colored long sleeved shirt. Pink eyes turned along with the head to peer at the dog demon, who cautioned to that she be careful. The Bakedanuki could notice the audible shakiness and fear in the Inugami's voice. Jiyu appeared to almost fall over before Izayuki could ask what was the matter. All the yokai heard was that there was something seriously wrong with the place, but could not anyone tell that? Something was quite obviously off about the Decrepit Mansion, and that was the main reason they were even there in the first place.

Only moments later, however, the Inugami began acting stranger than before, suddenly with no fear pulsing through her body and voice, but something else. Her voice was laced with a crazed sadism, and she pleaded now to not avoid the mansion, but instead, to go inside. Just what was going on with the dog demon? Izayuki noticed the shifting of her cloak where the Inu yokai’s tail was wagging and her ears twitching. Nothing made sense, and it definitely added even more suspicion to weigh on the guild master’s mind. She narrowed her eyes at the Ace of Hearts, but attempted to avert her attention to the smaller, pink-haired girl who had spoken. She would talk with the more formal and well-spoken childlike person before addressing her ace, who seemed to be slipping to some sort of insanity that was beginning to somewhat irritate the yokai.

“Yes, we both are here on a job to deal with this paranormal mansion. My name’s Izayuki,” the fully human-formed Bakedanuki said with a light smile, trying to be friendly and polite. She did not reveal any of her titles or positions, nor her guild. In such a strict and authoritarian nation, she had to be careful, and not walk into any tricks the local government had to weed out wizards to persecute. Anything could be a trap the capital set in Pergrande, even any jobs. This one seemed legit enough, however, so the guild master had chosen to try it anyways. If it turned out to be fake, she had ways of going about escaping. What wild animal did not, after all? “This is my friend, Jiyu. But…” Izayuki attempted to find the words, still eyeing the Inugami’s begging face. “Something’s off with this mansion, and it’s affecting her. But don’t you worry, I can keep her in check. Shall we go in?”

With those words, the Bakedanuki would begin walking down the gray-stoned paved path leading up to the gargantuan wooden structure. The Decrepit Mansion was eerie as it loomed over them, casting even more of a shade on the trio than the darkened skies did. Just what was up? They would soon find out.

The guild master was too happy about this whole thing, it was insane and ticked off the canine trudging beside her. If something was dangerous? It should be regarded as such, even if she most often regarded risky thing’s as some form of game, seemed to not take them seriously herself, it still ticked her off that Iza was treating this place so lightly. However nothing could be done about it, she was stuck trailing behind the tanuki as they got closer to this place and the other girl here. Jiyu really did not want to be doing this now, biting her bottom lip as they neared, the encounter started and everything started feeling weird. The discussion between them served as a distraction to allow her transition to complete, her own fear, the electrical interference and everything else combining to let something claw it’s way out of her, scratch to the surface and suffocate the normal behavior of her. She giggled once more, cocking her head towards both of them, ears twitching beneath her hood once more.

It would be than that her actions revealed pale lavender markings on her face, one cutting it in half, the other two sets of lines being in the area around her dual colored optics. Mostly? Only another youkai would know what those thick almost painted on looking symbols meant, the circle around her forehead, the line vanishing into her hair, the lavender surrounding her pale pink lips; Every single part of it was a sign that the woman they were dealing with, she had changed severely, this was not just some random decision to change personality, it was a true change in character. If one were to say it? Her soul was actually likely several connected to each other to form one, inhabiting the body with one dominant face in charge, and the other’s waiting beneath the surface. This lavender set that should have been calming? Was one of those beneath the surface, the soul of joy, right now they were not dealing with the same Jiyu who had set out on this mission with Izayuki, this was an entirely different from available to the ace of hearts. Yet this side of her seemed to retain all her memories, so it was highly likely the sorceress was unaware of her own shift in personality, or even that it was something which would take place regarding her existence. The guild master might need to have a talk with the little inugami before she became dangerous due to knowing absolutely nothing about herself. “Well you can be boring people and talk about it all you want~” her body swayed forward and one hand went for the door handle on the mansion, a smile spreading across her lips large, stretching the purple lines touching them. “I am going to do something truly fun and go on ahead!” apparently this side of her did not know what danger was, because it was not afraid of the mansion, up until moments ago the side of Jiyu normally in charge was frightened of this place, and her third face would likely be frightened as well, this one thought, she was just fucking daft! This Jiyu had no idea of fear expect for her base fears, none of which were a creepy mansion, and this version of her didn’t know how to do anything except be entirely delighted about everything. Quicker than anyone could stop her she moved to throw the door open, laughing joyfully as she did so, turning her head to smile back at them, body slipping into the portal, towards the mansion, warping to the inside of it. However it happened, one second she was at the door and the next she was not, there one second and gone the next, gone off to explore the place ahead of them. Only trouble could come from letting someone do such a thing alone, so the two of them should follow swiftly, or who knew what trouble Jiyu would cause inside the building.

She couldn’t see any of the shiny new stuff in the mansion, in fact Jiyu could not see anything whatsoever upon her entry! Instead she was met with fabric all around her, something that would have frightened, no scratch that, she was terrified, fighting in what she thought was some sack being used to carry her away. The truth? When she entered, the female ended up beneath her own cape, buried in the fabric, trashing around madly, rolling around there on the floor, a yowling sound breaking from her throat as she tried to escape.

OOC: Almost a month later I actually do something!

"Keep her in check? There is already a liability in this situation? Curious, you wish to proceed with a disadvantage into a place that you know nothing about, foolish. I shall only accompany because my destination is also inside, but know I shall not hold out a hand to assist if you prove... cowardly."

Sharp stated to the disguised tanuki, seemingly pondering on said thoughts for a long ass time that was totally not a month and due to the writer being a complete idiot and loser. In fact, he was probably the best ever at everything, except not because his punctuation is terrible and he needs grammar programs to be good at all. What does all of this have to do with entering a mansion? Nothing, nothing at all aside from ramblings. Truth be told Sharp didn't know what she really wished to do right now, she was here to solve this problem, but right now there were others who were also trying to solve the issue, but they seemed... off. This was more so than she was used to, they appeared to be hiding something, well one of them did the other had more of a twitch than the Tourette's guy, not to mention when she seemed to enter the mansion she vanished, or rather she didn't really vanish just... changed? This was the worrisome part of this place, it seemed to change people.

Turning to head inside Sharp didn't even give a motion to Iza as she went into the already opened doors, but as she entered the mansion she found that the ground seemed a lot closer and her normal blade at her hip was missing, in fact, everything was missing, she was naked right now. Well, frankly Sharp was always naked in some form or another because even under clothes one was in fact not wearing anything. That was circular logic to make this seem deeper than it was. With a tiny huff, Sharp had a bit of her energy manifest over her naughty parts and looked around. The atmosphere seemed very bleak and confusing, especially since she now was apparently bit sized. Guess Sharp would have to prove to this mansion that the fun size could kill.
