Out of battle: Sans is a very laid back skeleton, he tends to sleep on the job. He will find any way to be lazy, because he believes that no matter how hard he works he will be wasting it in the end. He enjoys making bad, skeletons-related puns. He was always told he was a good comedian. Sans has a tendency to drink ketchup for no reason at all he does not need to eat or drink but loves to drink it anyways. Even though he is a joker, he can be kind and reassuring, but becomes eerily serious. Sans is very smart for what he looks like, and is also very observant. Sans was always reading quantum physics books, and loved his workshop, Sans is heavily implied to come from a scientific background. He loves his family and friends. Even though he cares for his family and friends he hates to make promises. Overall sans is a nice kindhearted person but when his rage mode is activated out of battle do not get near him. It would feel like a dark evil presence is taking over his body. Overall Sans is a dark skeleton deep down, but out of that darkness he has a kind hearted skeleton, that loves to make others laugh, keep others happy, which in the end he is happy because he was able to do something he cares about.

In battle: Sans does not like conflict, he tries to get others to do it for him, when he is being lazy. He never fights serious unless he knows he can not win without being serious. Fighting is a joke to him he likes to aggravate his enemies with some of his jokes. When he fights serious his eye glows and his personality changes. Even in serious mode he still tells jokes but is more evil than funny. Sans is a joker but when he is serious he does not like to fool around as much as he would in non serious mode. when he is hit there is blood if he is cut even though he is a skeleton no one knows why. There is one mode That he was told by his brother before he died to never use unless he needed it and it was his rage mode. This mode made his eye glow in a blue fire, and his moves go faster because he has no other option. Just like out of battle the rage mode makes anyone feel a dark evil presence that is taking over. This mode is only able to come into battle if hes about to die or a close friend is hurt badly. The flame in his left eye is his magic that he was born with. While in rage mode he does not speak a word cause his body is filled with Determination. The will to fight is what makes his Rage mode a horrible form if he even fought like that he would never forgive himself for what he does. not only that he wont be able to move for a week or two.
