Job Description: A group of raiders called the Red Sand Bandits have swept through a series of villages leaving a wake of destruction and death from their raids. A group of survivors have posted a request to local guilds for the safe return of their families and friends and the apprehension of the local bandits.
The request comes from Chieftain of a warrior tribe called the Blue Sky Clan that resides in a foreign land. In a great desert city of Desierto the warrior tribe was called out on an expedition, their best soldiers left to deal with another clans uprising. When they returned to their tribe they found their village burned to the ground over half the population dead and the other half missing, The only clue to their whereabouts was the Red Sand Flag posted in the Chieftains destroyed house. The Blue Skies Clan has been feuding with the Red Sand Bandits for the past 100 years and now they hold their children and remaining citizens hostage. Put an end to the Red Sand Bandits tyranny once and for all and save the many victims from their grasp and the Blue Skies Clan will consider you an honorary member of their tribe.
Enemies:
Weak:5x Bandit Thugs, these guys are nasty rouge type foot soldiers for the Red Sand Bandits. Their Scimatars are dipped in scorpion venom and the bandits have claimed many lives their ability to wield them. They attack in flanks of two and the last waits for an opening to present it's self. Their combat is impressive for non magic soldiers. Each successful attack deals 2 D-ranks of damage and 1 D-Rank of damage per post if the poison is left untreated. 8 D-Ranked or 4 C-Ranked attacks should put them down for the count.
Normal:10x Bandit Gunners, the gunning squad of the Red Sand Bandits are a bit more intelligent than their bandit thug brothers. They each carry magic enhanced rifles and pistols and are well trained in their use. They like to draw their targets into traps by luring them into an area suitable for their snipers to safely pick off their targets from a great distance. Each magic shot deals C ranked damage and can come from up to a thousand feet from their snipers. 10 D-Rank hits or 5-C-Rank hits will knock them flat.
Strong:2x Bandit Brutes, the brutes are the worst of the worst when it comes to the Red Sand Bandits. They are the strongest warriors inside the band of criminals, they each are highly trained in the art of killing. Using many types of weapons dipped in lethal toxins they attack from a distance volleying poisoned projectile until they get up close. These 10 foot brutes are magicily augmented soldiers that have extremely tough exteriors and can lift well over human limits. The two brutes have massive curved long blades and can easily cleave through tough stone in a single swipe. Every successful attack deals 1 C-ranks of damage and 3 D-Rank of damage per post if the poison is left untreated. 20 D-Ranked or 10 C-Ranked attacks should knock them out cold.
Boss:The Red Sand Bandit Leader. This man is infamous known all across Desierto as a monstrous murdering thief. He is wanted for crimes against his nations leader, war crimes, pillaging, trafficking and selling of slaves, the murder of the Sultans second princess and many more crimes. He is 6 feet and dons an set of crimson red leather magical armor with pieces of metal patched over the chest and back. A long tan cloak drapes over the armor concealing an arsenal of weapons. The man wields Sound magic and can deal massive damage with his weapons poisonous combinations. Getting hit by his sound magic can disorient your character for two post,If he hits you twice while you're disoriented on your next post you will lose consciousness for 2 post. Every successful attack deals 1 C-ranks of damage and 2 C-Rank of damage per post if the poison is left untreated. 30 D-Ranked or 15 C-Ranked attacks should knock him out.Be wary of his Dire Falcon it can assist him in combat. It can deal 4 D-Ranks with it's claws and deal C-Rank Damage if it drops you from a great height. 10 D-Ranks of damage or 5 C-Ranks should put an end to the Dire Hawk.
Reward:15k Jewels for rescuing the citizens. If you capture the leader of the Red Sand Bandits and return all of the hostages you get 20k in Jewels and Double Experience.

It was a boring day in the guild hall of Eclipse Soul. Then again, Roxas wasn't necessarily a person you would call all that social. Despite his usual personality being very much unlike the current persona he was displaying, the older mage was not at all sure of what he wished to accomplish as of yet. Unlike various other people have suggested and done themselves, upon entry of the guild, Roxas did not make a scene to introduce himself. Instead, he simply walked in the guild hall and demanded a stamp. Having to deal with his awfully scary demeanor he was producing as of that given moment, a member quickly called for the aid of someone who had the ability to accept him into the guild, regardless of whether or not they were supposed to. Upon being stamped as an official member of the guild of redemption, Eclipse Soul itself, Roxas had decided upon making a name for himself. The goal of that would be to attract more meaning to the guild, but more stubbornly, to achieve fame himself. That's right. Regardless of the work, regardless of the time, regardless of how hard most may say it will be. Ignoring all that, Roxas would be a famed mage, one who would grant himself a title. But first, he had to earn his position. What better way to do so than to complete jobs? Even if they were pitiful and petty jobs, they were jobs no less. Now to find one.

I suppose it's time to get down to work...
Thanan strolled over to the job board, picking them apart one by one and reading over what they each do. After the disgrace of his last mission which he had been forced to give up on, he was desperate to prove to himself that he wasn't a failure.
How that bastard managed to get away from me, I'll never know.
He thought back to the way that the cloaked thief had managed to use the crowd to escape after stealing from that one merchant. Maybe one day he'll track that bastard down again, but until that day he had to live with his shortcomings.
He crunched a piece of paper in his hand without realizing it; the moment he did, he realized he was destroying a job paper.
Straightening it out again, he read it over. Details about some Red Sand Bandits. That sounded like a job he could get behind. His eyes, filled with passion, soon degraded to something more along the lines of disappointment when he read the requirements for the job.
"Shit, it's a C rank mission. Don't think they'd let it slide if I put this one under my belt just yet... but the pay's real nice, and these bandits don't sound like wussies..."
Standing there, the plant wizard was experiencing inner turmoil over this one simple piece of paper. He didn't want anyone to take it, but he wouldn't be allowed to take it on his own. He knew that much.
In the midst of this, he saw someone else approach; presumably an Eclipse Soul wizard as well. What else would he be doing here, anyway?
He looked... determined, Thanan could see that much.

"You. Want to make some money putting boots to asses? There's a good job here, on the condition that you let me come along for it."
He spoke in a commanding and straightforward tone. After all, why waste time with pleasantries? There was no reason to, in Thanan's book.

He had no idea what this job had happened to be, but a smile came from him. Finally, some acknowledgment! He would grab a copy of the request on the board, seeing as how it required two people from minimal rank, Roxas would only nod and say nothing more. Not caring for his comrade's intentions, he would stroll out, to head to Desertio where the job lied. Time to have fun!

Well, it shouldn't matter anyways. Upon finding all the beautiful seductresses, Roxas would only ask of one for information. This was to be his first words in quite some time. He was taken to the Chieftain of the clan, there being explained as to what the situation was. Thanan didn't care whether his partner was the sociable type or not. In many ways he preferred it when there was silence. More flow, less complaining, overall less hassle. Who needed companionship anyway? It was an overrated concept. All he sought after was the end of his goal, and socializing had no part in getting him there. It was a farce if he had ever heard of one.
He took as much information as he could from the situation, but overall tuned in only to the important parts. There were bandits. There were hostages. Defeat the bandits, save the hostages, capture the bandit leader if possible.
He cut the chieftain off mid-speech and waved a hand.
"I've got it, don't worry. The bandits won't comfortably sleep another night longer once this is all done."
He walked away from them and made his way out of the general area in search of the bandits' hideout. Not that he had much of an idea where he was going at the moment, but he knew that if he scouted for caves and trenches he would find something eventually.
Filthy bandit peasants. They deserve a proper hanging, all of them. Scum like them aren't punished hard enough by the Council. They're going to be in for an awakening, soon...
Smiling at his own sadistic thoughts, he came across a cave eventually, the way he had hoped to. Not even bothering to check if his partner was still following, he entered without hesitation or any sense of caution. Why have caution when you're confident enough to handle anything thrown your way, after all? It's not like there's anything bandits could throw at him, after all, that he hadn't already dealt with in the past.
As he descended further, he swore he could hear voices deeper within. Whether it was truly echoes of a conversation or merely the wind, he had to find out.

It seemed as though this man who still had not introduced himself by the name of Thanan (though this fact is still not yet known by Roxas) had already heard enough, beginning to advance to enemy turf. Since it was indeed his turn to lead in the ordeal, the very moment he left, Roxas nodded in the direction of the Chieftain, then following his comrade in this quest. Surely their opponent would be hard, but it was to be interesting as a job. Their goal was to defeat the enemy that were otherwise known as the Red Sand Bandits. Along with being given the name, the Chieftain had stopped Roxas alone before leaving, giving him some last minute information that would describe the ranks of the rogue bandits. The filthy beasts actually had a hierarchy, unlike many of their fellow beasts that Roxas had faced in the past. According to the information, there were many of them: teams of 5 grunt and basic bandits, teams of 10 gunners, teams of 2 brutes, and the boss himself. Quite interesting.
Basic descriptions of each one were added on the list, which provided useful to determine which would be which, though the numbers themselves probably gave it all away. Ignoring that fact, Roxas decided that enemies had to be seen. If Roxas didn't get some action going on, then he would eventually lose all motivation. And when the man loses his motivation, it would be horrible. He would've given up on the villagers and gone home. "Let's go."

As they continued to walk through the cave system, Thanan suddenly halted and raised his arm to signal the same for his teammate. Listening to the echoes of the cave, he suddenly heard a small burst of running followed by a loud bang.
Managing to roll away in time, a magical bullet impacted the wall near where his head was moments before, sending fragile rocks to the ground with a shatter.
He looked over to see a rugged man with steady hands on a rifle. He scoffed at his missed shot and prepared to reload. The moment he began to do so, as if by strategical cover, another dressed in similar desert garb hopped out from a nearby rock and fired a shot for Thanan as well.
"Take the one that just fired. I'm going after the other one."
Now the other one was further back, so he had to sprint to make it before the man could reload again.
As he raised his rifle to point at Thanan, the plant wizard raised his right arm and fired a bolt from his wrist-mounted crossbow. Due to him sprinting and aiming under pressure, the bolt only managed to fly directly by the man's head; this was more than enough to distract him and make him fire into the ceiling instead.
As the man covered his head to avoid falling debris, Thanan brought down a devastating knee directly into his jugular, sending him backwards. It was enough to knock him unconscious immediately. Thanan snickered.

Roxas was walking, being happily ignorant of the surroundings until he was paused by the hand of his friend in this mission, signaling that he should make no sudden movements. Of course, Roxas did as he was informatively told. As soon as had occurred, a bullet streaked across the air, thankfully not aiming for Roxas but his guild mate instead. If he had been the target, he would've died. But the guy simply rolled out of the way before giving instructions as to fight and how to fight them. Immediately, Thanan would streak across the battlefield before throwing a flurry of attacks into one of them, a defeat for sure. As for Roxas, he was too busy staring at Thanan to have reacted, in which case would the Equilibrium need the aid of his magic. As if almost instantaneous, he would appear in a flash besides his opponent, snapping his neck. Sure, a punch did D-Rank damage, but vitals were so much more effective. In an instant, that one was dead. But more were to come. And as it was true, three others shot bullets from within the cave. Using the dead man's body as a shield, he would further make his way to the three snipers before snapping their necks in a similar fashion.
That would mean they took out five in total of the ten. Though nothing happened for some time, so Roxas searched around to find no one else. This was truly going to be an annoying task.

As they continued further into the cave, Thanan could hear whispers of bloody murder surrounding them once more. Dastardly plots about what they were going to do once they had defeated the duo and detained them successfully. Sadistic things. Twisted things. Things that disgusted Thanan. The kind of things that made his blood boil, knowing that people like this existed out there in the real world.
All at once, five gunners sprang out from all directions. Two in front, one from behind and one on either side of Thanan and Roxas.
"It's you kind of people that really piss me off. The world would be better off if the lot of you just stopped breathing."
For a moment, a faint green light surrounded Thanan's body. A lively aura of sorts. It wasn't some all-powerful god magic being released, or some sort of demonic possession. Rather, it was like a small spark kindling an even greater flame. He put on his bird mask and prepared a sprinting stance as the bandits all prepared their weapons to fire.
"Vulnera Shift!"
And with that, he took off with a drastically increased speed towards the two bandits that stood blocking the way forward.
He raised his right arm to fire another crossbow bolt at the one on the left, while simultaneously firing his projectile Hangnail spell at the one on the left.
The crossbow bolt pierced the middle of the man on the right's chest, ripping through the fabric of his clothing in that specific spot.
Meanwhile, the one on the left took a Hangnail to his left thigh, causing him to cringe. The sudden pain from both caused them to cease fire and clutch at their wounds.
That was all the time it took for Thanan to grab each one by the throat and slam them into the hard stone ground, knocking them both unconscious. He then proceeded to grab the rifles of both unconscious bandits and fire both at the same time, at the bandits on either side of Roxas.
One toppled to the ground with a knee shot but was probably not out of the fight. The other shot missed, but spooked the rifleman into dropping his gun in shock from the close call.
Meanwhile, the one that was behind them was closing in on Roxas, unharmed from Thanan's assault...

With all five bandits appearing from no where and surrounding Roxas and Thanan, it was once again all thanks to Thanan's quick reactionary timing, as the moment he saw them come about, he forced a spell upon himself that increased his speed drastically. In a matter of seconds, two bandits were dead and another two were gravely injured, in no fighting condition whatsoever. However, Thanan's assault had no touched one lone bandit, who attempted for an attack to Roxas. It was child's play, so much so that Roxas didn't even turn. Swinging his leg backward, he would knock the sniper out of the man's hands and shoot bullets anywhere, piercing and giving a tattoo of another kind upon his body. Running out of ammunition would Roxas be forced to grab another rifle and shooting the two remaining pieces of trash on the side. Then again would he empty the bullets into the same body. Blood was painting the floor, splashing around as each bullet slowly and ravenously enters the body.
Finally, Roxas' assault was complete. Sure, it seemed to be a tad bit, even if just a bit, overboard. In fact, unlike most other legal mages, he holds no grudges or natural hate towards the dark mages of the world. But money was on the line here and as a result, would he not hold back. How else was a man to grab his breakfast. Alas, he traversed on, hoping that Thanan would be behind him, again able to react as he did. But more enemies approached as thunderous rumbling shook the cave.

But more enemies approached as thunderous rumbling shook the cave.

"They don't stop coming, do they?!"
As Thanan turned to look from where the foosteps were coming, he first expected another crowd of bandits to come swarming. However, that wasn't the case.
Instead the first thing to come running out was a small, humanoid being. He looked almost human, with the exception of two horns coming out of his head and resembling something more along the lines of a fairy.
He was in a panic, hopping drastically with surprisingly animated movements. He waved his hands in the air for help when he saw Thanan and Roxas.
"Oi! You there! What's with your bullshit, eh?! If you hadn't gone and got these asshats mad, I'd be scot-free on easy street right now!"
Making his way over to the duo with his stubby legs, he turned around to face the sound of the noise.
"What are you supposed to be? A fairy or something?"
The little creature popped a vein as he looked up at Thanan and kicked him in the shin.
"'Ey! Don't compare me to one of those frilly welterweights. I'm a Djinn. And a damn good one, too. BEHOLD!"
There was a puff of smoke, and when it cleared there was a sword in the Djinn's hand, scaled perfectly to his size. For a human it would be more like a dagger.
"That's... kind of pathetic." Thanan exclaimed with a smug look.
Their dialogue was cut short when a trio of riflemen appeared and aimed shots at the group once more. Before they could fire, Thanan grabbed the Djinn and somersaulted out of the way of the fire and behind a large rock. When it subsided, the Djinn pushed away from the plant mage.
"Enough of this running crap! Odds are more even now, so let's go on the offensive. Let me show you the power of Iblis, the Vagabond Djinn!"
Iblis ran out from the cover, and Thanan soon followed.
"If nothing else you can be used as a decoy!"
Thanan caught up to Iblis and kicked the Djinn like a soccer ball directly at the three bandits.
Sword in hand, Iblis began to spin 360 degrees like a top, and when he reached the group it was like knocking down bowling pins. The sheer force of the blade's impact cut the throats of all three, sending them bleeding to the ground.
Iblis gave a triumphant victory pose, but the fight wasn't over yet.
The rest of the enemies came in a hurry after hearing the screams of pain from their allies.
A total of seven rifles pointed forward, aiming straight ahead at them. They fired off in unison, and once more the duo succeeded in hiding behind cover.
Jumping into the battle once more, Thanan shot another crossbow bolt and caught the far left gunner in the eye, sending him crumpling to the floor violently grasping at his gruesome and bleeding eye. While the others were gawking at the sheer horror their friend had just undergone, Thanan took the opportunity to perform a sprinting dropkick at the one next to the eye bleeder, sending him into the ground. He crushed the man's throat with his foot for good measure, and then grabbed his rifle to block the attack from the next adjacent bandit.
They clashed, each using a rifle as a melee weapon, when cries of pain could be heard behind them. A moment's diversion was all it took for Thanan to perform a sweeping kick to the man's legs, sending him spiraling to the floor. As he looked on in terror, the last thing he saw was a rifle barrel aimed at his forehead. The last thing he heard was a bang.
And in truth, the cries of pain were from bandits opposite them. Iblis was hacking away mercilessly at the ankles of a pair of bandits, who attempted and failed to swipe the little Djinn away. They began to bleed so profusely after a while that they succumbed and fell to the ground. Iblis crushed both of their throats with the pommel of his longsword, and they were silenced forever.
There were two left, facing back to back at the two violent murderers before them and their guns loaded for another shot. One panicked and fired early at the Djinn, as Iblis ran up a wall and rebounded off of it. At the same time, forestry began to surround Thanan's left arm and he revved it up for a punch for the man's gut.
At nearly the same timing, Iblis' jump attack succeeded and sliced clean through one of the bandits' throats, while Thanan's Snapdragon Fist spell made a direct, crushing blow to the other bandit's ribs. The shock forced the man to pull the trigger, echoing a loud bang throughout the cave once more.
Covered in blood, Thanan and Iblis looked at each other and then turned to Roxas.
"...They don't give up."
Iblis' face was filled with regret for his bloodthirsty actions, but regardless he seemed to accept it as necessary to survive.
As if interrupting on cue, more footsteps from further down could be heard.

Strengths:
Speed: This spell makes good use of Thanan's speed, closing the gap for a quick and powerful hit.
Pseudo-Armor: For the post that this spell is used in, Snapdragon Fist can block attacks much the same way a weapon could. It can take up to 2 D rank spells, 4 D rank water spells or 1 D rank fire spell before being destroyed.
Armor Piercing: The thorns that surround the arm, enchanted by magic, are strong enough that they're capable of piercing at least partway through armor.
Weaknesses:
Fire: A single D rank fire spell is enough to destroy Snapdragon Fist and potentially the user as well, as it's linked to his arm.
Close Range: As it requires direct contact it may be hard to land the attack as opposed to a ranged one.
Faster Opponents: Relying on being faster than the target, should one be even faster than Thanan it would prove challenging to land this spell.
One Less Hand: For the post that the spell is used, Thanan cannot use his affected arm to do anything.

It was the most interesting scene of all that has yet to happen. It seemed even as only a D-Rank mage, Thanan had the ability to deal so much more damage that the rank itself gave him the ability to. This itself was proof that the letter ranking was only the outside of things, but what determined whether or not a job could be accomplished, that was experience itself that provided the results of whether or not one was trained to kill. Again, while Roxas was off dillydallying, his partner seemed to be uptight and aware of things, cleaning out the enemy of 10 again. But this time, they had outside assistance, from a little imp that named itself a Djinn. What a mystery, what a mystery. However, given the enemies they were to deal with yet not knowing the number of them, any comrade was fine and would have no complaints coming from the Equilibrium.
Thanan and his newly formed pet, so it would seem or as Roxas would personally call it. They continually moved themselves on the cavern, this time, two grunts of inhumane sized walking up to them. Again, this was child's play. Sure, their size had incredible structure and possibly defense to it all. But when facing a magical rifle that didn't exactly have much to it, even a grunt would have a hard time facing it. Standing at 20 meters, Roxas would spot them and immediately fire in their direction, each bullet piercing them and allowing him to know that it hit, boosting his confidence to fire more. Again, the whole thing would repeat to the right. Roxas proceeded on in the cavern, passing by the now dead bodies of the brutes. Child's play.
