    Earth Wyvern's Dynasty (finished)

Post by Alessia Pentacost on 25th August 2014, 7:59 am

    Magic

    Primary Magic: Earth Magic.
    Secondary Magic: N/ for now.
    Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Xing is a hybrid between human and Earth Wyverns, which grants her access to the same magic that Earth Wyvern's employ. It's what you'd expect from Earth magic, powerful and destructive when roused but also tough and sturdy, enabling the user both offensive attacks and defensive moves. However, as earth is independent and stands upon it's own feet, it has little in the way of supportive techniques, meaning it's better at allowing the user to fight by themselves than it is working as part of a team. Lastly, there is little in the way of buff moves for this magic, except it has the power to passively and actively boost the user's physical strength and defensive. To put it bluntly, the magic is purely physical, combining the user's physical abilities with magical support.

    Strengths:

    • AOE attacks: Xing's earth magic is very good at AOE attacks, often able to hit multiple enemies at once.
    • Not solely magic dependent: As Xing's magic uses both her talents in material arts, and actual magically ability, she doesn't become utterly useless when her spells are taken away from her.
    • Defensive and offensive: Xing's earth magic is able to both block damage, and deal damage granting it more use than a magic that focus on one or the other.
    • Physical strength increase: While earth magic has little in the way of support, it is able to boost it's wearers physical strength.
    • Status conditions: There are a few status conditions that this magic can inflict, and these are decreases in speed, agility and eye sight.

    Weaknesses:

    • Non-discriminate. When it comes to the magic's AOE moves, it does not differ between friend and enemy. It will damage anybody in the target range for AOE moves.
    • No supportive abilities: This magic has no supportive abilities outside of boosting physical strength and defence, meaning it can't heal, buff allies, neutralize debuffs or other status conditions.
    • Requires earth nearby: Many, but not every, spell used by this magic requires earth within a reasonable distance, after all you can't create an earthquake if you're in the sky now can you?
    • Demands physical ability: There is a lot of hard work and exercise required for the usage of this magic, and if you lack the strength and stamina for the magic, which is higher than average compared to other magic, then you'll be unable to use it.
    • Water magic: The spells that use stone, such as actual stones like pebbles or the like, are very weak to water based spells. Any water spell two or more ranks hire than a stone using spell of this magic, will be beaten by the water spell.
    • Earth based spells are can be easily blown away by wind based magic/damage.
    • Cool downs: Obviously, all spells have cool downs and a cool down is how long the spell takes to recover until it can be used again.

    Abilities/Powers:

    • Physical boost: This magic boosts the users strength and stamina by 15%
    • Boxing: As a part of this magic, Xing took up boxing and even developed her own unique way of using her tail for it.

    Name: Stone barrage
    Rank: D
    Type: Earth and offensive.
Description: Slamming her tail into the ground, Xing magically launches five pumpkin sized rocks into the air, and then using her tail she launches them at a single target. Lastly, the rocks move at about 15m/s. The spell is single target, unless of course you run in front of them. If people are within a foot's distance with the original target, they will also be hit by these rocks.

    Strengths:

    • Long range attack
    • Easy to cast
    • Can hit multiple targets, if the target is grouped together with other people.

    Weaknesses:

    • Horrible at close range: As the title says, this spell doesn't do much good if the target is right next to Xing.
    • Rocks can be blocked or deflected.
    • Water can erode and destroy the stones.
    • Physical contact with the ground is required.

The spell has a one post duration and three post cool down.

    Name: Fist of the earth
    Rank: D
    Type: Buff
Description: Resting her hands upon the ground, earth crawls up and attaches to Xing's fists. It turns them into more like large clumbs of earth and dirt, that due to how compact and heavy they are, can be used to bludgeon people into submission. This spell boosts any physical damage done by Xing's fists by 10%, as well as blocking a single D-rank spell with her fists.
    Strengths:

    • Boosts physical damage. This is good as Xing mostly uses her own magic to boost and compliment her physical abilities
    • The earthen fists can also be used to block, and absorb damage as well.
    • Earth, not stone, is able to absorb water so this spell gives Xing a chance to fight water magic users.

    Weaknesses:

    • No ranged attack. This spell is purely close range.
    • Weak against wind. Wind damage can easily break through the defence offered by these fists.
    • Physical contact with the earth is required, or the spell won't work.
    • The cool down. When on cool down, it greatly reduces Xing's close combat performance.

The fists last for three posts, and have a three post cool down.

    Name: Stone bulwark.
    Rank: D
    Type: Stone/earth and defensive.
Description: Banging her tail on the ground, Xing summons a seven foot tall wall that is three feet wide. The wall can absorb two physical attacks of the same rank, from any source, and two magical attack of the same rank. If the attack is water based or wind based, one attack of either, from any rank equal or higher, will destroy it instantly.
    Strengths:

    • The spell grants Xing a form of protection when she needs it.
    • It can protect more than one person at a time, and Xing as well so long as she bends behind it.
    • The speed at which the stone wall forms allows Xing to react to incoming attacks quickly.
      Weaknesses:

      • Weakness to water and wind. Water and wind damage will utterly bypass the wall and destroy it instantly.
      • Single direction. The wall only faces a single direction, so it can't block against attacks coming from other directions.
      • Ground contact. Xing needs to be in physical contact with the ground, or the spell won't work.
      • The cool down. If used at the wrong time, this spells cool down robs Xing over her primary defensive option.

It lasts for three posts and has a four post cool down.

      Name: Earthquake
      Rank: D
      Type: AOE
Description: Taking a deep breath and remaining motionless, Xing unleashes energy into the ground which causes a small earthquake to take place. It affects anything in a ten foot diameter, with her location upon the spell's activation as the centre. Anybody in this radius has there overall speed lowered by 15% percent, excluding Xing.
      Strengths:

      • Adaptable. The spell can be used in either an offensive or defensive manner, allowing Xing to either attack or retreat, and a few other uses.
      • Not affected by wind or water. As this spell only causes the ground to shake, it can't be damaged or weakened by damage from wind or water moves.
      • Doesn't affect Xing. The fact it doesn't affect Zing allows her to get the most value from this spell.

      Weaknesses:

      • No damage. This spell deals no damage, so it can't harm people without other stimuli.
      • It affects allies. The fact it also slows the speed of allies means it works best when Xing is outnumbered, or fighting by herself.
      • It requires being on the ground. If Xing isn't on the ground, this spell won't work.

It lasts for three posts and has a four post cool down.

Hey there Lunar, I'll be reviewing your magic application for you. There isn't all that much that needs editing from what I can see, so nice work so far. All edits that I request are written below in blue so that they stand out. If you've any questions in regards to any edits I've requested then please let me know and I'll happily speak with you about them.

Please let me know when this is ready for re-review =]

    Spoiler:
    Magic

Weaknesses: (What are the weaknesses of it. List all weaknesses possible, if the magic requires channeling -time- to use, able to hit self or allies, drains life if used, etc, list it. You must have at least one more weakness than strengths. Remember to separate them individually and bullet point them.) (You can remove this XD)

    • Non-discriminate. When it comes to the magic's AOE moves, it does not differ between friend and enemy. It will damage anybody in the target range for AOE moves.

Lastly, the rocks move at about 15m/s. The spell is single target, unless of course you run in front of them. If people are within a foot's distance with the original target, they will also be hit by these rocks.

(Could you state your durations and cooldowns at the end of your spells such as where this is written? It just makes it easier to find especially for mods when checking job completions or in PvP)

    Name: Fist of the earth
    Rank: D
Type: Offensive, kind of. (This would be a support or buff spell)
Description: Resting her hands upon the ground, earth crawls up and attaches to Xing's fists. It turns them into more like large clumbs of earth and dirt, that due to how compact and heavy they are, can be used to bludgeon people into submission. This spell boosts any physical damage done by Xing's fists by 10%, as well as absorbing 10% of physical attacks Xing blocks with her fists (Blocking 10% of a D-rank spell is like blocking 1% damage. I'd just say that they block one full D-rank spell). The fists last for three posts, and have a three post cool down.
