Leaning her head on the train window, Kariline watched the clouds move by; they were flying by faster than normal, like fluffy snowball being thrown in slow motion. How she wished that they could fly away instead of traveling on the ground. Flying has always been a passion of her's though, yearning for that freedom. Free from orders, expectations; Free from fear. Pulling herself away from the window she resumed the conversation with Talen. They were reviewing the ordered given to them by Zuo, their guildmaster. He had given them special orders to investigate rumors from the nation of Bosco.

"So what do we know so far?" she had asked Talen before picking up a piece of document. It had detailed information on the city of Bosco, and it's culture. They were a outstanding country, highly developed in tech and medicines, however they had no magical properties at all. They were constantly envious of Fiore, wanting the power and control that the magic council possessed. They even went as far as to name their higher up the ' Techno Council. ' Putting the paper down she checked to see if Talen was even paying attention. She sat there with her legs crossed, her boots casually unlaced, her normal attire on.

"These rumors what do they tell us exactly?" She could remember back to when they were sitting in Zuo's office a few hours ago, she had just returned from a bath, and her hair was even still wet. The master assured them it was important and of up most urgency. Sitting there in his non-comfy marble chairs they were given this job, and were told of the importance behind it. The magic council was scared from a neighborly invasion. But why them? Why Lamia Scale? There were sure to be plenty of other powerful wizards. Such as Alexander; a long time friend, who was found to be gone from Sabertooth. She had heard rumors he opened up his own guild, but of course she hasn't seen him in months.

Suddenly over the loudspeaker she heard an annoying high pitched voice that belonged to some hag. " We will be in contact with the border within a few moments." That would mean they would be checked into the border. However, this was going to be the part seeing as Bosco really didn't want any tech leaving it's borders. Kariline knew that they couldn't just openly discuss their plans with the Peacekeepers. They would have to come up with a story, and she had the perfect one in mind. They were going to play the typical couple, on vacation and visiting each neighboring country.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 8th May 2014, 5:01 pm

Talen sat across from Kariline, his eyes drifting open and closed. The methodical bouncing of the train had lulled him into a half awake half asleep state, and he was daydreaming about all of the things that he could do inside of Bosco. There where new restaurants to try, casinos that he and Melissa had yet to be kicked out of. Talen always liked to visit new places, however this time his excitement was tempered by the mission Zuo Cii had sent him and Kariline on. Apparently someone inside of Bosco was planing to invade Fiore somehow. Talen could not see reason for Bosco to do that, but on the off chance that someone was in fact planning to invade, it was up to Kariline and him to stop them.

Talen was jolted out of his daydreams when Kariline asked him what he thought the rumors that were in the documents Zuo had given them meant. Talen's eyes shot open and he rubbed them a bit. “Well,”  He said “like you said all we have are rumors. We don’t really have a place to start looking.”

There conversation was interrupted by an announcement over the load speakers, saying that they would be crossing over into Bosco soon. Talen straightened up and prepared for the Peacekeepers to inspect there paperwork. Although both he and Kariline had valid passports, they figure it would be best if they did not tell anyone why they were coming to Bosco. Neither of them know how far up the plot to invade might go so they could not trust anyone.

Soon the train came to a stop at a small station just inside of the Bosco border, and everyone was told to leave the train. Talen was amazed by all the people he saw exiting the train. They had stopped once or twice on the way here to pick up more people after he and Kariline had got onto the train, but he did not expect there to be so meany. Talen and Kariline got into one of the lines that were forming in the train station. They soon came to a portly, middle aged woman who looked extremely worn out. Her graying hair was in a bun that had a few stray hairs sticking out, and her steely grey eyes had slight bags under them. “Passports.” she said in a somewhat raspy voice. Talen handed the women both his and Karilines passports. She looked over them briefly before saying, “Reason for visit.” The women started to type on a device that Talen had never seen before. It looked like a smaller, slimmer typewriter without paper. After staring at the contraption for a second he said, “My girlfriend and I are visiting Bosco for some sight seeing. We hear that your cites are simply amazing, and the food is to die for.” Talen gave the women a brief smile when he finished. The smile was partially to help sell the act, but he also was laughing a little to  himself as he imagined how Melissa would react if he told her that he and Kariline were dating. “Length of visit.” the women said, sounding annoyed by Talen. “Only a few days.”

The women returned their passports and motioned for them to move along. They proceeded and found themselves once again in a line, this time in front of someone that appeared to be a part of the Peacekeepers. “It's your turn.” Talen said to Kariline in a slightly hushed tone.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Kari 8th May 2014, 7:08 pm

The train soon came to a stop, its wheel squealing to stop in time. Kariline stood up and stretched, they now had to convince the gates to let them in. This is going to be fun. Dragging her luggage bag off of the rack, she sighed. It was empty, as they did not really plan on staying longer than what is necessary. The bag was to make it look convincing. Stepping off of the train, they took their place in line; she gave Talen her passport, but only because she wasn't good at talking to people, especially other women. An ugly women at that, the lady looked like she lived in that box, never leaving it. Kariline did her best to smile and play her part as Talen convinced their reasoning. Her attention was taken by the equipment she used. She used her fingers to type across a platform, but the appearance reminded her of archive magic.

He did a brilliant job of acting, and a smile spread across her face as they gained access to the second gate, However this was the hard part. Here, Peacekeepers searched their physicals, and Kariline had her gloves on her. She couldn't afford for those to be taken, so she had to come up with something fast. Looking at the Peacekeepers ahead she had a genius idea come up. She walked slower and took off her vest and stuffing it into her bag. Under that she was wearing a button up black blouse that was skin tight, It allowed for easy movement and easy manipulation. She simply un-did a few of her buttons and pulled her hair in front of her. She slipped on her gauntlets, which at the time were inactivated, so they looked like bulky bracelets.

As it came to their turn in line they heard a big booming voice, " Set your bags onto the table, and set your arms on top of your head. " Doing as she was told she laid her bags onto the table and put her arms up on top of her head. By undoing her shirt her cleavage was enhanced as she placed her hands on her head. " From Fiore huh? Want to tell me your reasons for coming to Bosco?" the deep voice asked as he went through their stuff, which was not much. However there was one crucial fact she forgot. The paperwork on their mission, it was in her bag. Her eyes flashed to the bag as he picked it up, " Oh, my boyfriend and I are sight seeing, " She said with a girly giggle, the guard stopped and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Do you think you can show us around later?" She said giving him a wink, and a seductive voice. The man got a little flustered and put their stuff down quickly. " Proceed."

Kariline picked up her things and walked away, blowing the guard a kiss to seal the deal. They shouldn't be bothered anymore for some time. She buttoned up her top and put her vest back on. She had no expression on her face as she turned to Talen, " We need to think about our first step, we need to find out who would be organizing this. I really doubt the Techno Council has anything to do with it. My instincts tell me it is more of a underlying group." She pulled her hand up to her face, pondering for a moment, they needed to find the underground society, the typical land for thugs and whatnot. But where to start looking?

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 10th May 2014, 7:03 pm

After the two Lamia Scale members continued past the Peacekeeper, Talen could not help but laugh a little to himself. The fact that Kariline had used her body to get them past the Peacekeeper with such ease surprised Talen. He had seen the demon summoner, on multiple occasions, out drink meany of the other guild members, beat most of the other members at arm wrestling and even fought better then most of  them. He had never really thought of Kariline as a very girly person, and seeing her act that way was a little surprising to him.

As the two walked into the city, baggage in hand, they discussed their first move to uncover the plot to invade Fiore. Kariline believed that it was some underground group that was making the plans and they should start there. Talen was not entirely sure himself, but it seemed like as good place as any to start looking. Talen thought for a second before saying “Lets try and find one of the more shady bars around and see if we can overhear anything.”

Growing up, Talen had been raised by Melissa. She was a kind spirit, but not always the best moral compass. She would provide for Talen by any means she could. Normally that meant gambling, swindling and the like, but from time to time Melissa would “find” an item that would sell for a lot. She would find people who were buying such items by talking to loss lipped men in bars. Talen assumed that the same principle would apply here.

As the two summoners walked the streets, looking for a way to such a bar, Talen was amazed by the sights of this technological city. He couldn't feel any magical magical energy around him, but there were things that he could not explain without magic. Flying cars, signs that were projected in the air it was all amazing to Talen and he was having a hard time taking everything in.

The information that Zuo Cii had given them had said that in the lower levels of the city, laws was not as enforced. There were monster, illegal deals it was the part of the city that the more privileged members of society did not want to see. “According to the information Zuo Cii provided I believe that the best place to find one is in the lower parts of the city.”

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Kari 12th May 2014, 2:12 pm

Talen seemed amused by the fact that she used ' Feminine Charm' to get past the guards, yes it was a new thing for her, something she picked up by watching Lillitha attempt to seduce men. Kari knew she had 'Assets' but she just didn't know how to use them properly. Yet all this didn't matter, the way she used it worked and they were in Bosco, the high tech futuristic hell pit. She had heard plenty of stories from her father ( before he died ) about this country, mainly because he was an architect, and could not stand the designs of this country, while the magic council was all for. Rose Garden was even supposed to be a stepping stone to the future, however it never even got close.

Her eyes got wide as she peered up at the tall skyscrapers that towered over them, they could touch the clouds, that was if she could even see them. 30 miles outside of the city, they entered a hazy foggy like current, but looking at this, she knew this was the cause. With industry came the side effects. Turning towards Talen, " I think your right, Leaning over a railing, she could see the ground, almost like they were on a bridge. Flying cars buzzed under them, but even farther under that, was a scum hole. There were fire's and thug looking individuals. One of these people, looked out of the ordinary though, he was in a trench coat, and was followed by two looking tough guys. She smirked, " I bet he knows something, " She said as she pointed down at him.

The man had entered through a door and his guards were left as look outs, standing over any passerby's. " We need to get down there, " She said eye balling all the flying cars. If she could get her hands on one, she was sure she could figure it out. With a smirk she looked at her partner, and looked below them, " Do you trust me?" A simple question, but behind it was a brand new meaning. With that she lept over the railing and landed right on top of a hovering car.

The hunk of metal swerved with her thud, and she knew she had to move fast, positioning herself, she hung over the car ans swung into the opening; kicking the old driver out, the car began to fall instantly. It didn't feed off of magic, but rather hand controls. Curses, she should have observed them a bit more. She grabbed the stick and pulled it towards her. Instincts, she was driving off of instincts. It took a minute, and a couple of bumps along the way but she got the hang on it and parked next to her partner, " Hop in baby!" she said sarcastically while patting the seat next to her.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 13th May 2014, 3:45 am

“Do you trust me?” Talen thought to himself for a second before coming up with an answer. He had know Kariline longer then almost any other human. Her, Zhu Feng, Zuo Cii and Ren were the first Lamia Scale members that he had met, and he had lived in the guild hall longer then any other place. He trusted the members of Lamia Scale with his life. “Of course.”

Talen watched in a amazement as the Kariline jumped on top of one of the flying cars, kicked the driver out and pulled it up besides him. “Hop in baby!” Talen shook his head and got in the passenger seat beside Kariline. She drove the car to floor below and parked a little ways away from the door the man in the trench coat had entered.

The lower level of the city was much less grand then the great towers above. The buildings were rundown and crumbling, there was a dingy fog everywhere that made it a little difficult to breath, and there was an ominous presence that the Celestial Wizard could feel all around.  Talen walked until they were only a few feet away from the two thugs guarding the door the man in the trench coat had entered. Talen pulled Titan's Hammer from his the suit case that he had put it in to get it past security. Talen took a brief look around before taking his hammer and hit one of the guards in the side. The man clutched his side and let out a short shout of pain. Talen spun around and hit the brute in the head as he came full circle, knocking him out. As he fell to the ground, the other man pulled out a what appeared to be a baton, electricity crackling along its length, from his waist and swung at Talen with it. The summoner jumped back and attacked with his hammer, using a backhanded strike. The thug took a step back to dodge the attack before swinging at Talen once more. The baton grazed across Talen's arm as he jumped back. Talen felt like a bolt of lightning had hit him, the next thing he knew, the large man standing over him the  baton raised. Thinking fast Talen kicked the man's feet out from under him and watched as he fell to the ground. Talen grabbed his hammer and hit the man in the head, knocking him out as well.

Talen painted heavily as he got to his feet once more, his hammer resting on his foot. Talen looked around to see if anyone had gotten the Peacekeepers to break up the fight. To Talen's relief either no one seemed to cared that the large men were attacked, or they were to scared to tell anyone. Either way Talen was fine with it. He thought about breaking down the door so they could proceed, however he was still recovering from the electric baton. Talen gave a half bow and gestured to the door. “Ladies first.”

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Kari 13th May 2014, 11:37 am

The ride was alot of fun, weaving through traffic to get to the lower floor. She had only driven a car a few times, but the controls were so different. Kariline skidded to a stop a few buildings away and hopped out of the car, they rushed closer to the door, hiding behind a parked vehicle. After a peek over the vehicle, she glanced towards Talen, " Okay, what is the plan no-" He was gone. What? Where did he go? Kari popped her head over the car to watch as Talen snuck in to get a strike with his weapon. She had not been on a job with Talen in a long time, but his attitude towards fighting was different. He seemed more in tune, and wasn't relying on his spirits. Kari couldn't help but smile as he rushed in to take care of the problem.

The first one was taken out by surprise, but the second thug; He pulled out a long metal baton, and it seemed to surge with a blue electric like state. Kari grimaced, she wondered if Talen would be able to handle himself, she was generally worried about her partner. He got a few hits in with his hammer, and Kari on-looked with anticipation. Suddenly he got swiped with the baton and the pulse sent Talen to the ground. This was getting bad, so Kariline pulled herself up and over the car, she activated her gauntlets and was running to his aid, but when she got there, Talen was up and the brute was down. " Well then.. Nice Job." She said as he panted. She couldn't blame him for his lack of wind after that, taking on both of them by himself. Was this a usual for him now?

The woman smirked as he so 'graciously' offered her the option to go ahead. Kari walked up to the door and examined it. A metal door, that had some type of contraption hooked up to it. The thing reminded Kari of that archive magic the passport lady was using earlier. It didn't seem to have hinges like the doors she was used to, it almost appeared like it slid into itself. Well she guessed the only way to open it, was to break it, or melt it.

Concentrating, her ankle tattoo began to glow a green color, you couldn't see it while it was concealed by her boot, but the area around her left ankle, seemed to bubble. From that, a green ooze shaped it's self into Henich, her acid demon. Its long tongue drooled and dripped acid onto the ground that instantly started to corrode the earth. " Henich, i need you to use your breath attack on that door!" She ordered out. Unlike Celestial Spirits, Demon's will turn on you if they feel you are unworthy to command them, so you have to keep a tight leash, there is no friendship, or bonds to make with demons.

The bright green, bubbling, oozing demon barfed up a huge batch of acid, spitting it at the door. The acid ate through the door easily, wires and all. Metal is very corrosive, and the whole door melted nicely. It was even a big enough hole for Talen and Kari to step through. Henich bubbled and melted into the ground as Kari dismissed him, and she stepped through the hole, being careful not to touch the sides as there was some left over acid. " You coming?" She yelled back at Talen. Luckily it didn't open up into a huge room, but rather a longer corridor. Kari could still here voices towards the back, yet she couldn't make out what they were saying. They would have to get closer.

Post by Talen 15th May 2014, 12:50 pm

Even before Kariline had summoned her demon, Talen felt a shiver go down his spine. Even though Talen had no objection to her magic, Kariline's demons always creeped him out. He watched as green, bubbling acid poured out of her boot, and formed into her acid demon. Talen could feel a maleficent presence coming from the beast, and he was once again reminded why his spirits disliked kariline so much. Talen shook his head, again telling himself that he did not judge people by their magic, but by how they used it.

Talen watched as Kariline had Henich melt a decent sized hole through the door. “Effective,” Talen commented as he stepped through the remnants of the door. Talen watched as the acidic hound disappeared in a splash of sickly green acid.

Talen and Kariline found themselves in a long, dimly lit hallway, the light source above flickered and buzzed. Talen could hear voices at the far end of the hallway, but was unable to make out what they were saying. He silently walked down the hallway and found that it opened up into a large room lit by an overhead light similar to the one in the hallway, except that it kept the center of the room well lit. In the center of the room was a table with a few men and women around it. Talen could hear the familiar sound of playing cards being shuffled and could not stop a smile from coming to his lips. Talen crept back down the hallway and said in a low whisper, “There are a few people playing cards in the room. I am going to try and scare the rest away and catch Trench Coat.” Talen reached for his celestial spirit keys, selecting one that he felt was appropriate. “Gate of the Gambler, I open thee Melissa.” Melissa silently came out of the portal as to not alert the people in the other room. “Melissa, I need you to scare the people at the poker table away, except the man in a trench coat, we need him.”  “Can do.” Melissa said in a cheerful voice. The spirit looked back at Kariline and gave the other summoner an annoyed look, “Why is she here?” “Melissa!” Talen said in an irritated whisper, “Now is not the time.” “Fine.” she said before walking nonchalantly into the next room, pulling out her deck of cards.

“Hey” Melissa said in a casual tone, “Mind if I join?” “Who the hell are you?” one of the guys at the table asked. “Melissa.” She said in a mater of fact tone. She then pulled out a card and threw it at table. The card burst into flame in the air before it hit the table. When the card hit the table, it exploded knocking everyone to the ground. The men and women stared yelling discordantly, scrambling to there feet, and running for the hallway, the only way out. Talen watched them run out, keeping an eye out for Trench Coat man. As the man in question tried to run past Melissa, she grabbed him by the shoulder and through him back onto the ground. “Not you,” Melissa said with a smirk, “We want to talk to you.”

Lowering herself from view, and crouching down with Talen as he summoned his spirit she tried to listen in as much as she could, but was interrupted by Melissa. She was one of Talen's celestial spirits, and she had a horrible attitude towards Kari and her summons. Kariline understood they were protective, but this girl took it to the max. Gritting her teeth she just ignored the spirit, while once again it caused issues.

Waltzing into the room, she was immediately bombarded with questions, wanting an explanation of why they would infiltrate their hideout. She made great work by throwing an exploding card at the table, it didn't harm them, but they were scared of the Fiore Mages, as that stuff didn't happen in Bosco. People ran past Tal and Kari as they waited outside the door, all but the man in the trench coat, who they wanted to talk to.

" Who are you? What are you doing here? What do you want? And how did you get past the guards?" He all sputtered out at once. Coming around the door frame she walked up to him, yanked him up by his collar and pushed him back into a chair. Kariline wasn't nice about getting straight to the point; she grabbed a handful of his hair, and placed her foot on his right thigh as she kept him there in that chair. But what surprised her, was that there was fear in his eyes, so much as he was about to start crying. Thugs don't cry.

Ignoring his questions, as she had no intent to answer them; Kariline just got in his face, " Have you heard of a specific rumor to invade Fiore? " She said, her grip tightening up on his hair. The man tried to squirm and shake his head no but she kept it firm, " Come on! You know! Who here in the forsaken country would have the guts to attack the Magic Council?!" she was yelling at him now, and the man began to wail like a child.

" I swear! I'm not part of anything! I have no idea who you are talking about!" He said in between sobs, snot running from his nose. Kariline, in a frustrated manor, kicked him and the chair back, releasing the man so he would just fall. " This is a waste of time, lets just kill him," She said to Talen. She wasn't serious of course, its just an antic to scare him.

" Wait! " He cried out on his hands and knees, " I don't know who would do it, but there is a man with a gang who might know. " A smile crept across her face, a sadistic one at that, but it was all for show, " His name is Slim! Slim and company. I swear that is all i know! Please let me live!!" The man was pleading to Kari, on his hands and knees bowing. She didn't want all that, just a name, and now she got one.

" Where do i find him?" One last answer, and they would be on their way.

" 47th st, On the corner, in the ' Drunken Helm ' Its a bar."

    Perfect.

Post by Talen 24th May 2014, 10:50 pm

When Kariline had finished the interrogation, Melissa looked at Talen saying, “See, she was going to kill that guy! I told you she was a evil person.” “What the...? Melissa for the last time, be nice to Kariline.” “What?” Melissa said incredulously, “I'm just trying to...” before she could finish, Talen forced her gate to close, causing the women to disappear. Talen had not done this in quite some time, and he knew that it was extremely rude, and Artemis would probably lecture him for doing it, but Talen was tired of her always give Kariline a hard time. “Sorry about that,” Talen said with a sigh, “She is still convinced that you are evil because you use demons. I wish that her and the others would get over it.”

After a short ride in the flying car Kariline had “borrow”, the two mages found themselves in front of the bar known as 'Drunken Helm'. It was a little run down, the sign that projected a symbol in the shape of a knight's helmet was fuzzy and blinking at irregular intervals, some of the windows were cracked.

Talen walked up to the entrance of the bar, and opened the door, noting the tinkle of a bell as the door opened. The patrons of the bar glanced up at the two mages, giving the new commers suspicious looks, before returning to there drinks. Talen noticed that almost all of the people at the bar were members of the Peacekeepers, their black helmets sitting on the table next to them and their guns on their backs. Talen nervously looked around for a split second before once again resuming his normal, confident look. When Melissa had been teaching Talen how to survive on the streets, one of the most important lessons that she had taught him was that no matter how lost you are, if you look like you know where you are going, people will not bother you. As long ar he and Kariline looked like they knew what they were doing they should not get in to much trouble.

Talen walked straight to the bar and sat I one of the stools in front of the bar tender. The man had black greasy hair that was unkempt and fell t his shoulders. He gave the summoners a dirty look before saying “What do you want?” His voice sounded just as unhappy with the fact that the two of them here siting at his bar as as his face showed that he was. “Well,” Talen said “we are looking for someone.” “And who would that be?” “Slim,” Talen said casually, “Slim and company.”

The atmosphere in the bar immediately changed from one of mild annoyance to one of hostility. The Peacekeepers in the bar all put a hand on their guns. “And why would you want to find Slim?” Talen put a hand on his keys, preparing for the inevitable. “Well, we just had a few questions for him.” Talen heard clicking as the guns were raised. “well that's to bad for you.” A moment after saying this, the bartender ducked under the bar, and in the same moment the Peacekeepers in  the bar opened fire at the two mages. Thankfully for the two, Talen had been expecting something of this sort to happen and he immediately pulled out a key, saying “Gate of the Harpy, I open thee, Aello!” A dark feathered harpy came out of the doorway. She took her wings and flapped them in the direction of the Peacekeepers, causing a large concussive blast of wind to knock all of the bullets away from the summoners, and kncking most of the Peacekeepers off their feet. The harpy gave a Talen a flirtatious smile before saying, “How did you know that I wanted to be summoned in a bar full of men?” Talen just shook his head before saying, “Take them down gently, they are just doing their job.” Aello nodded and returned her focus t the few Peacekeepers who were still standing. “You say that as if you have already won,” one of those where still standing said with a smirk. The man was holding what appeared to be a long ropes in each hand, the end of each glowing slightly with a eery blue light. The man approached Talen and Kariline still smiling with an over abundance of confidence.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Kari 27th May 2014, 11:07 am

In annoyance with Melissa, Kariline just simple turned away with a grimace. She wasn't really going to kill him, and it hurt for Melissa to actually believe that. Well... Would she have? There was many things that Kari was, but a killer was not one of them. She just glanced at Talen as he forced her gate to close. Not saying anything to his apology she just overlooked it. It wasn't that she didn't accept it, it was just not his fault, he shouldn't apologize for it. " Talen, you act like Melissa has been the first to resent me for being what i am. " With that being as is, she followed Talen out of the room and back outside where they got into the car and drove down the street.

There is was, the bar, just like he said. She was wondering if this would really lead them in the right direction. Stepping into the building, a eerie quiet lurked over everyone, like they knew that Talen and Kari were coming and they were not from Bosco. Not saying anything, they both walked up to the bar.

Sitting down she was really tempted to order a drink, it had been a few days and all of this was getting her excited, but she just steadied herself and let Talen take the lead. But they found themselves in more than enough trouble when the whole place full or peacekeeper's turned on them. What?! They were supposed to help people! So why are they attacking these two? They had done nothing wrong.

They had opened fire on the two mages without even giving them the chance to surrender. Kari's eyes got wide and was about to have her lie flash in front of her, but suddenly from Talen a large bird like woman appeared and used her wings to create gusts to blow the bullets back and into some of the men. It was unbelievable! Talen was able to summon her so fast, not even Kari could summon one of her demons that quick.

Thankful for Talen and his quick hand she sighed, but knew this was not nearly over. She jumped to her feet and summoned Golem to her aid. Like Orthus, the ground shook beneath their feet, but instead of appearing from the ground, he collected from dirt and debris from beneath the metal flooring which had opened up.

Eyeing the leader figure among them, he had in his a hand a whip like weapon, and she could sense that he was more than he looked. Kari did her best to stay on her toes, and planned to her brunt force against him with her strongest summon. " Golem! " She yelled out and pointed at the man with a whip. This sent the large beat rolling and in a instant he unfloded and the scales on his back erupted, sending three men flying back. However, not the one's she wanted. The Peacekeeper with the whip just side stepped the flying projectile easily.

After seeing that, Kariline gritted her teeth, this was not going well.

Post by Talen 28th May 2014, 9:02 pm

Talen was impressed by the demon that Kariline had summoned. It was larger then any of his spirits, and from looks of it, was just as strong as Scorpio. He watched as Golem launched his earthen scales at the Peacekeepers. The normal guys were hit by the projectiles, however their leader simply side stepped the attack as if it was nothing. Talen was starting to worry, if this guy could dodge their heavy hitters, this fight was not going to end in their favor.

“Aello, take him out,” Talen said pointing at the whip wielding Peacekeeper. The harpy nodded and flapped her wings at the man, making another concussive air blast. Instead of dodging, the man simply braced himself and took the full force of the attack, not moving an inch. The man smiled and asked, “Is that really the best a Fiore mage can do?” How does he know where we are from? Talen thought to himself. Talen could feel himself starting to get frustrated, and he knew if that happened he would make mistakes, and that could be deadly.“Trust me, you haven't seen anything yet.”

Talen, once again, reached for his keys, selecting one of his older ones. “Gate of the Gorgon, I open thee,  Medusa!” The Gateway opened and Medusa slithered out, looking slightly nervous. Talen had not summoned Medusa in combat since his first mission with Kariline, but her power could win them the fight. “Medusa, freeze him!” Talen said pointing at the leader. Medusa looked at the man, and was about to freeze him in stone, but the man sent out one of his whips which wrapped around the gorgon's neck. “Medusa!!” She tried to pull the whip off, but to no avail. The man smiled and tightened his grip. Medusa silently attempted to scream, and a blue light started to be sucked from her through the whip. Talen felt both rage and despair fill him as one of his oldest friends suffered in front of him. Through his actions, one of his spirits was in pain. It was his fault, he had allowed her to be harmed, someone that he considered family.

Talen forced Medusa's gate closed and watched as the whip fell to the ground. He placed one hand around Titan's Hammer and the other clenched into a fist. Part of his mind, the logical part, told him that he should just run, but this man had hurt Medusa and he had to be punished. Talen pulled out his hammer and rushed the leader. “What are you doing?!” Aello shouted at Talen as he rushed forward.

The Peacekeeper raised an eyebrow at Talen as he came running forward, yelling angrily. Talen swong his hammer in an overhead strike at the man. He side stepped and lashed the summoner with his whip. When it his his skin, Talen felt his magical energy being drained. So that's what he does, Talen thought to himself, however it was too late, Talen was to close to the man, he wrapped his whip around Talen's waist and he soon found himself slipping into unconsciousness as the last of his Magical energy was drained.

Post by Kari 3rd June 2014, 11:52 am

In shock her eyes grew wide as The peacekeeper just side stepped her attack. Golem scanned over the Peackeeper with both of his heads, waiting for some kind of attack from him. Suddenly Talen sent the harpy after the man, who beat her wings furiously to send a high wind at the man. She could see fallen bodies being pushed back quickly, Yet the man stayed up strong and held his ground against her winds. Kariline gasped, how could this be, were soldiers in Bosco always like this? Also, how did they know Talen and Kari were from Fiore, were they being watched? Other countries had mages, why automatically assume they are from Fiore, unless they knew all along.

Her stomach clenched tightly and her palms got all sweaty, One would say she was afraid, which in turn was the truth; but she wasn't afraid for herself, but rather Fiore, and her friend Talen. She could see him summon out Medusa, his strongest summon. She had the most capability of all his celestial spirits, but she came at a great cost. She really couldn't afford for him to be frozen, as she couldn't carry him out of the bar, and more were soon to come no doubt. This was getting bad.

Talen ordered her, but just as she was about to look him in the eyes, the Peacekeeper wrapped his whips around her neck. Talen look horrified and closed her gate. He probably felt guilty about hurting the Serpent Woman. She looked at Talen and a ball grew in her throat. He was in emotional pain and was going to do something stupid. And he did.... Running towards the man he tried to strike him with Titan's Hammer, but was caught by the whips. Kariline watched as Talen fell to the ground; the whips must drain Magical Energy, how else would he succumb like that.

Her eyes teared up, why is it she was always useless to help her friends! She reached out, " Talen!" She yelled, and with that, Golem rolled closer but tucking himself in, and tried to run over the soilder. Suddenly she felt something grasp her wrist; It was a gloved hand and as she looked back she realized more Peacekeeper's snuck in from the back and got behind her. She tried to wriggle free as they attempted to put a bag over her head.

Yelling out, a powerful force erupted from her. It was built up magical energy and it unleashed itself with a powerful wave that pushed the men back hard. She stood there panting but soon felt the ropes of the whip around her torso. In a moment she fell to the ground and it all went hazy.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 5th June 2014, 3:24 pm

Talen blinked his eyes as he slowly came back into consciousness. As the room came into focus, he tried to remember what had happened. He was in Bosco... but why? There had been a fight, he had summoned Medusa then... the rest of the fight suddenly came to Talen, and his hand went flying to his waist. He was not surprised when he did not find his keys in their normal spot. Talen slammed his fist into the ground, angry at himself. If only I had kept my cool in that fight, Kariline and I would have thought of something to win, but instead he had done something incredibly stupid and gotten them both captured.

Talen sat up and took a look around his surroundings. He was in a dark cell that smelled of mold and decay. The floor, ceiling and walls were made of a dark gray stone that had something green growing on it. There was a large, solid looking metal door that presumably lead to the outside of the cell. There was a bench made of he same stone as the rest of the cell in one corner that had the same stuff growing on it. To Talen's left he saw Kariline, still unconscious.

Talen put a hand on his teammate's shoulder and gently shook her. "Wake up," Talen said in a quiet but firm voice. "I think we got captured." the second part Talen said in a slightly joking voice.

When Kariline was fully awake, Talen sighed and said, "I'm sorry about losing it in that fight. If I had stayed level headed we could have won that. I was just so... angry when he was hurting Medusa that I could not think straight." Talen clenched his fist once again. "and become of that we got captured and I lost my keys. Only a horrible Celestial Spirit mage does that."

For as long as Talen could remember, his spirits had been with him. If he ever needed them they were there. For the first time in many years he was without his family.

Talen sighed once more and took a seat on the stone bench. "So what's your plan to get us out?" Talen asked. He felt useless right now, he knew Kariline could still summon her demons, which would break them out quickly, but then again she may want to wait and see who had been captured.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Kari 9th June 2014, 10:48 am

Her legs ached as they pushed themselves farther, her hair rushing past her face. Kariline was running, but what was she running from. All she could see was darkness, and feel fear as a large aura creeped up on her. She had not felt this fear in a long time, but the only thing she was afraid of...
    Alakai.
At that moment she woke up with a gasp, shooting straight upright, Talen's touch had scared her, but it wasn't all his fault. She just rubbed her eyes and composed herself. She could feel the cold sweat and goosebumps over her body. She hated her nightmares, but there was no way she could help that. Looking around, his words soon took into effect. She remembered fainting, and that feeling of helplessness. With anger she clenched her fist and slammed it down hard onto the ground. Deep inside she wanted to fight, but giving up and falling away sounded less painful.
It wasn't just this situation, her whole life. It was like an endless hole she struggled to climb out of.

Kariline laid back, her hair falling around her on the cold ground. She raised her hand to open it up to the ceiling, almost like she was waiting for someone to grab onto it to pull her from this dark vortex. Kariline just sighed and let her hand to fall to her side. Maybe it was to late as she felt lost already.

" Do not blame yourself, we lost that fight when we entered the bar. We didn't stay secure and let out ambitions fall ahead of us. " She said as she let her arm fall across her face. " I understand why you feel bad, but you didn't lose your keys, they were stolen.." She remained silent for a moment. " How do you have this relationship with your celestial spirits" She peeked out from under her arm as she continued to lay there.

As she glanced around she couldn't help but notice how large the space was, and Talen with Kari were placed right in the middle of it. She wondered where exactly they were. It would be bad if they ended up dying down here, their friends would never know, and she thought about Naraca, what would he do? What would any of them do? Quincy, Naraca, Kihia, Zuo, Ren Ophelia, Aegiel, Kaligos, Kara, Lily, Kaeki, Cyrus... they were all friends and family, and she couldn't imagine going on without them. Maybe they felt the same.

She didn't have a plan quite yet, she wanted to wait, to see if she could get any information as to their whereabouts. If they were held in a prison it would be impossible to just walk out of Bosco.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 9th June 2014, 9:52 pm

Talen was a little taken aback when Kariline asked him about his past. He did not really talk it that much about it to others, preferring to talk about the present of future. "Well," Talen started "the first thing that I remember was finding Melissa's." Talen smiled to himself as he remembered the this fond memory. "It was sitting on the ground in an alleyway of Magnolia. I am not sure how I figured out how to summon her, but I did. She was confused as to how a child could summon her, but she was nice about it. She kept asking where my parents were, but according to her I just insisted that I was all alone." Talen put a hand subconsciously to his hip where he normally had his keys looking for the soothing, cool metal of his keys. "She felt bad for me, and decided to take care of me. Melissa spent the next few years looking after me. She would even use her own power to stay in the human world of about a week at a time until I was old enough to take care of myself. She was the one who taught me how to read, write and my magic." Talen could feel himself starting to get teary eyed just thinking about all of the stuff she done for him, just to get her key taken from him. "She made enough money to support me by..." Talen tried to find a good way of putting it, "any means necessary. She would gamble, hustle and swindle people to try and make enough jewels for me to have enough food."

Talen sat back against the stone wall and closed his eyes for a second. "Artemis was a different story. I found her key in a store a few years after Melissa. At first she wanted nothing to do with me. She thought that I was like all other humans. But after a some time I got her to open up a bit and I learned that she blamed humans for the destruction of much of Earthlands natural wonders. I told her that I would never do something like that, and that I would work with her to protect nature whenever possible." Talen smiled to himself. "From that day on she decided to watch over me like a mother. You see, Artemis knew Melissa in the spirit world, and she did not approve of the way that she was raising me. Melissa was more like my sister then a parent, and Artemis thought that I needed a parent. While Melissa had taught me more about survival and how to look after myself, Artemis taught me about responsibility and caring for others."

Talen leaned back against the wall and sighed as he continued his story. "Meduas I met a year after Artemis. Artemis said that she was Medusa's only friend in the spirit world because all of the spirits were afraid of her. I was afraid the first time that I summoned her, but shortly afterwords I realized that she was very sweet. I am the only human that she talks to, and Artemis is the only Spirit that she talks to."

Talen turned to look right at Kariline, "I do not remember human family, Artemis and the others are the only family I have ever know, and I los..." Talen cleared his throat before correcting himself, "they were stolen from me." Talen sat quietly for about a minuet before breaking he silence by asking, "So what about your family?" Talen knew that he could be in dangerous territory, but he thought he may as well ask.

Post by Kari 10th June 2014, 8:36 am

" I understand her concern for me now.. I am a threat to you and your existence. Being a Demon summoner is risky... But not all Demons are bad. My first contract, Ukobach. He found me in a burning forest and rescued me by absorbing the flames. " She gently rubbed the part of her wrist where her tattoo was for her Flame Demon. He was the only one that genuinely cared at all. The rest of her demons, she had control over. But she would not have a connection with them like Talen did with his Spirits.
Then came that dreaded topic. Her family...
" I had a mother, and a father, and even a brother. But something dark took them all away from me. " She said before hanging her head low, " I found my mommy and daddy pulled apart in their bedroom. My brother however, was consumed by darkness and left me. I was only 6."
She picked softly at the ground with one hand. " After that, i met Naraca, he was 12 i think, and he became an older sibling to me. "

Kari smiled, " After training, i then found myself walking up the steps to Lamia Scale, and who would have guessed that you all would become my new family." She just glanced at Talen and smiled, It was a while ago, but she remembered the first day they met each other, and they were pitted against each other in a hole! She never wanted those memories to go away, they masked the dark memories she had of her past.
"With Naraca in Lamia Scale, i couldn't ask for anything more... I know how you all look at me, like i'm mean and use my fists for talking. But i am not cruel, i would never take away a person's life. Because that person, belongs to a family somewhere, with a little girl waiting for her daddy to come home. " She tucked her knees up to her chest and she wrapped her arms around her knees.

Looking at the cell door, it was somewhat solid, minus a few bars over a window. The walls were all made of hard iron, so it was impossible to tell where they were, but they couldn't stay here any more. " Talen, you are strong, and you care for your spirits. They will forgive you, now lets go get those keys." She said before the tattoo on her left should began to glow. With a strike of red colored lightning, a flighty demon erupted. Luck, her rather, eccentric, and sadistic demon. " Luck i need you to break the door. "

With a wink, and one simple little touch, a red electric like magic covered the door, in a second it backed off, but the door still stood there. Kari just nodded before standing in front of it. One might say she was crazy but with just one push of a finger, it fell off the hinges.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 16th June 2014, 3:29 pm

Talen now understood why Kariline sometimes seemed a little harsh and cold. She had been through a lot, and at such a young age. Talen could not imagine what he would do if someone had done something like that to his spirits. When Kariline had her demon Luck touch the door, Talen wondered what exactly she was doing. He had seen her summon far stronger demons in the past, and this one seemed weak by comparison. However he understood what when Kariline simply pushed the door over. "Cool demon" Talen said with a short laugh.

Talen slowly stuck his head out of the doorway, and looked down both sides of the hallway. The cost was clear, and after thinking for a moment the summoner decided to go right. The hallway was slightly more well lit then cell because of the torches that were placed at regular intervals, however it was just as cold and damp and had the same mysterious green growths on the walls. After the two had been walking for some time, They came to a branch in the path. Talen looked down both, but they looked the same.

When Talen was still learning about Celestial Spirit Magic from Melissa, she had told him that after using a key for enough time, a mage could sense the location of their keys. Talen had never had a chance to test this because he had only ever lost a single key once before today. Talen closed his eyes and concentrated, trying to feel the magic that he used on a daily basis. he focused on the feeling of opening one of the gates. As he focused, Talen could feel something. It was a warm magic energy, it felt like all the good times he had shared with his spirits. With a smile Talen opened his eyes and said, "They are this way." As he pointed down the left hallway.

The two of them moved more quickly down the seemingly endless hallways now, Talen moved with complete confidence not hesitating at any turn. After about 10 minuets, Talen lead Kariline to a seemingly normal door. After a moment to confirm what he felt, Talen said, "They are in there. I am sure of it." Talen cautiously opened the door, and breathed a sigh of relief when their was no one inside. In the room their were some metal shelves, and on the shelves were there were some papers, some strange metal boxes, Kariline's gantlets, Talen's hammer, and last but not least, his keys!! Talen grabbed his keys and held them to his chest. "Sorry guys," Talen said in a quiet voice. He then put the keys back on his waist, and picked up Titan's Hammer. "So, what now?"

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Kari 23rd July 2014, 10:10 pm

As soon as she provided a way out, Talen had sprung to life, taking immediate action to locate their keys. Kariline however, was taking a look around. They appeared to be in a building, rather than a dirt hole. The walls were bolted metal and the air didn't have alot of humidity. they came to a closed door and he swore that he could feel his keys were inside. She just hoped they stored her gauntlets nearby, seeing as how she was pretty wiped from the battle still and needed some manner of defense.

Talen opened the door slowly and she really prayed there wasn't a guy behind it waiting with a weapon. She was weak in the knees and didn't feel up to getting stabbed. " Be careful Talen." But to her surprise, the room was empty and there on display was her gauntlets and his keys. She felt like the weight of the world rolled off her shoulders, it was so relieving she felt as is she could float away happy.

He handed her the gauntlets and she wrapped them over each wrist, that nice weight and the tight feel against her skin put a fire in her eyes. She wanted revenge, and to find her captures and lock them away for eternity. Looking around, she tried to spot anything useful, a map, a piece of paper, anything to tell her where they were. She narrowed her eyes, " I doubt we were held by real police. This place is too dirty, and doesn't seem like a cell where they would place international criminals." She placed her fingers to her lips, " Also, that attack was too.... pre-planned. Like they knew they were looking for us. "

She started to walk towards another door, opening it up, it led into a hallway and right to a path of stairs that led up, " What do you say to looking around for a bit. I'm sure our captures are around here somewhere. " She smiled, " They never did pull us in for questioning, what a shame..." she said with a smirk and a slight laugh as she proceeded into the poorly lit hallway.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 31st July 2014, 9:57 pm

Talen smiled when Kariline said that she wanted to find the people who had captured them, he felt the exact same way. They had hurt one of his spirits, imprisoned him and one of his team mates and had taken his keys. They were going to pay for that. This time, however, Talen was going to do his best to keep a level head, instead of attacking blindly like last time.

Talen followed Karline through the door, and into another hallway. at the end of the hallway was a staircase leading up to another level. The two summoners ascended the stairs and found themselves facing another door, this one larger and thicker then the last. Without thinking, Talen reached for the handle and opened the door.

The door lead out into a large, brightly lit room. In the room ten Peacekeepers were sitting about, reading, eating or just having conversations. When they heard the door opened, all of the peacekeepers looked towards the Lamia Scale members with confused expressions for a fraction of a second before one of them shouted, "The prisoners escaped, get them!" all of the peacekeepers jumped to their feet and pulled out guns, aiming them at Talen and Kariline.

Talen put a hand to his waist and pulled out one of his silver keys. He raised it and in a flash of light a doorway to the spirit world opened and Dionysus entered the human world. As always the spirit's entrances was accompanied by the a strong smell of wine, but it was a little stronger then normal today. The drunk laughed as he looked at the Peacekeepers. "They don't look s'bad," Dionysus said, slurring the words as he spoke, "This should take no time at all." Dionysus lifted his wine cup and took a long drink from it. Initially the Peacekeepers were surprised that the spirits had suddenly appeared, but they quickly regrouped and aimed their guns at the spirit. Dionysus looked at the guns and let lose a deep, rumbling laugh. He lifted his wine jug and throw its contents at the Peacekeepers. A spray of red wine came flying out and covered the Peacekeepers. Moments after the peacekeepers were hit with the wine, they started to wobble unsteadily on their feet. "There, that should help." Dionysus said with a grin, taking another drink. "They are not quiet as hammered as me, but still drunk." Talen smiled and nodded to Dionysus, "Thanks." Talen pulled Titan's hammer from his waist and prepared for the fight to come.

    OOC:
The Peacekeepers are now drunk for a post.

Post by Kari 8th August 2014, 9:03 am

OCC: Roger that Tal, And thank you Kira, Sorry bout how long it is taking, honestly, i didn't think it would be this bad. But with bout our rl issues, it got hard. Thanks a bunch and i hope to continue to make this a bad ass thread.

As Talen opened the door, Kariline was astonished to the amount of Peacekeeper's there were sitting in the room. Ten of them, just sitting and bullshitting like nothing was going to happen. No wonder it was so easy to escape, and they clearly underestimated the two Lamia Scale mages. At least Kariline could summon her demon's without a key or anything physical.
When the guards finally noticed their presence and took action, Talen had already summoned one of his spirits. The Spirit of.. spirits.... The large buffet of a man was staggering drunk when he flung his contents from his cup, it landed over the guards who then became intoxicated.

This was the perfect chance for them, the peacekeepers were stumbling over each other nearly. So what was the fastest way to take care of these guys. Burn them. She looked down at her wrist which glowed a bright red, almost like it was on fire, and smoke poured from her pours. It released into the air and with an instant flash, flames erupted in front of her. They took the shape of a mammal, and after a second; Ukobach had formed. His shoulders stood up to her waist and he was really a sight to see. The snarling demon drooled fire onto the floor which began to scorch the flooring.

The drunk peacekeepers went into a frenzy and tried to fire out at them, but their aim was terrible and Kariline had to duck behind a flipped table just to avoid fire. "Talen! Quick, Duck!!" She called out, the girl didn't want him to end up getting shot. The flame demon chuckled with a deep, grungy, bellowing hiccup as the bullets tickled him, by exploding within his hot body.

Quickly he lunged forward and tackled one peacekeeper, the flaming demon burning the man as he was trapped under the weight of Ukobach. The man screamed and tried to push the demon back but it didn't work, and the peacekeepers continued to shoot the demon, which did nothing to his hot ethereal body. With a loud snap, Ukobach gripped one of the guns that was held by another close Guard and yanked it away. The gun still firing, It was pulled from the man and tossed away, but the gun was pointed towards Kari's hiding place. The table, wasn't very thick and the bullet penetrated it. Kari pulled herself in and felt a burning sensation scrap over her arm. She hissed and touched it, blood poured through her fingers. "It's just a scratch!" She yelled out to her teammate. She didn't want him to do anything reckless anymore.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 2nd September 2014, 4:18 pm

After Dionysus used his wine to get all of the peace keepers drunk, Talen had thought that it would be easy to defeat the disoriented fighters, however now they were just shooting randomly instead of right at the two mages. The summoner heard his teammate shout for him to get behind cover, he glanced over and saw that she had knocked over a table and was using it as an improvised shield. He decided it was a good idea and tipped over a table with a little bit of effort, then crouched behind it. Dionysus was too drunk to care about the bullets flying past him and casually took another swig of wine. Unfortunately for the Peacekeepers, one of the stray bullets found its way into Dionysus hand, spilling some of his drink onto the floor. The spirit almost instantly changed from his normal cheerful self into a angry drunk, "I don't care who you are or what you are, you never spill another's drink!"

Talen thought back to his childhood, before he had Medusa's key, to one of the more rowdy bars that the Melissa had taken the young boy to. The two of them had narrowly avoided a bar fight when Talen had accidentally knocked over one of the other patrons drinks. She had warned him that the quickest way to make a drunk angry was to spill there alcohol. Dionysus's sudden change in behavior now seemed to prove this. The spirit ran forward, grabbing the nearest Peacekeeper and threw him to the ground, then jumped and landed on the man, knocking him out instantly.

Talen now saw Kariline summon her fire demon, and watched as it and Dionysus started to rampage threw the Peacekeepers. Just as everything seemed to be going well, Talen saw one of the Peacekeeper guns fire and hit Kariline. Talen clenched a fist as he felt anger filling him once more. He was prepared to jump out from behind the table, and take out every single Peacekeeper with his hammer, when he heard Kariline say that it was just a scratch. Talen sighed and let his hand relax. Calm down, Talen thought to himself, this is how you lost the last fight. Talen took a calming breath and looked back to the fight.

Dionysus grabbed another of the Peacekeepers and tossed him into a wall, then slammed his wine glass into his head, and the Peacekeeper crumpled to the ground. I need to relax and allow my spirits to fight and not get in the way.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Kari 5th September 2014, 9:01 am

Kariline bit her lip as bullets whizzed around both of the mages. This was bad, they had to take down those Peacekeepers and fast. Her arm blazed with heat as she tried to cup her hand around it. She was bleeding, but not bad enough to where she would pass out anytime soon. Maybe if she had something to cauterize the wound. She thought for a moment...
Talen's current spirit was a drunk, and a very angry one at that. Only a few moments earlier one of the misfired bullets had pierced his canister of alcohol.. which spilled it everywhere...

    THAT WAS IT!

Kariline jumped up, a little weary of flying bullets. "Ukobach, stand in the liquid!" She yelled out. The Demon nodded and instantly did what she had said. Kariline grinned as the liquid began to burn. It wasn't a slow burn, or something small. Alcohol was flammable, but celestial alcohol, that had to be some potent stuff...
Within seconds the whole bar was ablaze. Flames roared up to the ceiling, and any peacekeeper that stood within the liquid became charcoal. There were a few smarter men that had tumbled onto higher ground, trying to avoid getting burned alive, but it was a slow process. Flames still licked their feet and they did a funny little dance. The gun's were dropped and within seconds bullets stopped being fired.

To prevent any more damage to the building, Ukobach had absorbed the flames around them all. Mostly for Kari and Talen to come around front. He walked around Kariline just as she approached a table that a cowering Half Drunk Peacekeeper was perched on. " Y-You keep that thing away from me!" he yelled out. Kari grinned, she betted that she could get him to wet his pants, but that wasn't the important part.
With her hands on her hips she casually said, " He doesn't bite.. but his flames do." She said with a stern voice, " Tell me where we are and where we can find what we are looking for..."
Ukobach just looked at the man and growled. The effects from the alcohol could wear off any minute, and she didn't want to be here for that. There were still passed out bodies strewn about.  Only half of them were burnt to a crisp..

With a large sigh and a rather wimpy whine, the man pointed to the door, " There are the stairs that will take you to what you want to know. I wont tell you anything else." Suddenly he latched onto Kari, grabbing her shirt. " BUT YOU HAVE TO KILL ME! DO IT NOW!" His eyes quivered as he was peterfied by fear. Kariline was about to rip his hands away from her when he started crying. " They will find out and do much worse to me!"

Rather confused she removed his fingers from her chest slowly. " Don't get hasty. Your not dying anytime soon." she said as she started to make her way to the door.

Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam Empty Re: Finding the Truth || Kari and Talen's B rank exam

Post by Talen 22nd September 2014, 8:05 pm

Talen was glad that Melissa was not here to see Kariline threatening another person. The gambler would try and use this to, once again, try convince him that she was evil. Luckily it was Dionysus, and at the moment he was way to drunk to really care.

Talen decide to let Kariline do the interrogation without interrupting, she was better at it then him and he did not want to get in her way. Once the interrogation was over, Talen stood and looked to Dionysus, "That's all Dionysus, you can return to the spirit world now." with a wide smile the spirit nodded, then said, "Alright, you just need to take a drink first." Talen sighed when the spirit said this. He had hoped that Dionysus would forget about their contract, which said that before Dionysus returned to the spirit world, Talen had to take a drink of the spirit's powerful wine. Normally this would not be a problem, he like to drink, however this wine was very strong, and now was not a good time for him to be drunk.

With a sigh Talen nodded, he could not refuse to follow his side of the contract, in fact the idea had never even crossed his mind, but there was the chance that Dionysus would forget, and it they both "forgot" he would not be breaking his contract.

Dionysus handed his wine glass to Talen and smiled. Talen downed a large mouthful as quickly as he could, then smiled at the spirit, "Thanks for the help," the summoner said, "a pleasure as always!" With that Dionysus returned to the spirit world.

Talen shook his head, trying to clear his already foggy mind. He was already a little more then buzzed just from the one drink, and was trying his best to focus on the task at hand. They needed to find the people who had imprisoned them and figure out what exactly they were up to.

Talen turned unsteadily to the door that the man Kariline had interrogated had pointed to and walked up to it. When he reached the door the summoner unsteadily opened the it as quietly as he could, and glanced in. The door lead to what appeared to be a large factory, with metal and machinery from floor to ceiling. Talen shook his head to make sure that what he was seeing was not a hallucination.

Talen quickly looked from side to side making sure that no one was near, then motioned to Kariline, "It looks clear,"  he said in a quiet voice, motioning or Kariline to flow as he quietly stepped into the factory."
