Meeting of a Friend~ [Private; Sendo | Natsumi]

The female requip mage had arrived yet again into the guild hall. The guild hall seemed rather quiet this time, as there were not as many people bustling around, shouting, and drinking. Instead it looks as if her fellow members are worn out from their party, and it seems as if they had a hangover. She giggled to herself when she saw a man sleeping atop one of the tables in the guild, drool emitting from his mouth. Natsumi smiled at the few people who were conscious and able to comprehend her words and actions.

Natsumi took her regular seat on top of a heightened barstool, and started to engage in conversation with the bartender. They both talked about various things such as the weather and the guild. Natsumi seemed rather happy in that moment, but also a bit lost and lonely.

Sendo walked up to the door of the guild hall and sized it up. He hated being in crowds of people but for once this would have to be an exception he'd have to make. He didn't exactly have enough money for food to cover this month, so if he wanted to be able to eat he had to work. Plus maybe the work would be good and the pay as good as the work. He touched his hand to his shoulder that bore the mark of the guild. The girl who had told him to join a few days earlier seemed nice enough so he wondered why she was in a guild like this one. He had heard from others the stories about it and about how it was almost like a rehab for dark wizards. So he wondered what secrets she was holding onto that made her fit in, she didn't seem to him to be dark at all.

Sendo gently pulled his hat down to cover his eyes slightly and slowly pushed the door aside. He was surprised that the noise wasn't nearly as loud as he expected, then again it was the early morning hours and everyone seemed either passed out or heavily hung over. He never liked alcohol always figured it dulled the mind and senses too much. Then again as far as he knew he could have been a heavy alcoholic in his earlier life that was lost to him. As he walked in, near the empty bar he spotted the girl who had led him there the days previous and wondered if he should say hello. Since he was there to get a mission it was probably best he didn't since he didn't know her and he wanted to find a quick mission. Then again, the words ringing through his head, it may be nice to have a companion to take on a job and even out the work.

His thoughts danced around the subject as he made his way to the job request board, his two forefingers clasped on the brim of his hat gently anchoring it to cover his eyes in shadow and his coat flowing behind him as he let the door close. Most of the patrons and guild members didn't raise their heads to see him enter, and that was for the best. He preferred to just get in and get out quickly and quietly. He walked up to the request board and looked over the papers searching for a good job to do.

The conversation between the bartender and the awkward redhead began to slowly die, as he seemed to have better things to do and Natsumi seemed to have a little too much on her mind.

"Well, I have to go find a job, maybe the excitement of battle can ease my mind and hopefully set my mind straight, as it is a tad scattered at the moment." Natsumi said to the bartender, then he smiled at her and wished her the best of luck as she had gotten up and turned away, performing a small bow before walking to the request board.

Natsumi had halted in place. There was a man already up at the request board, and he looked rather familiar. Natsumi tried to think back to where she had met him, then she remembered, as she had to crane her neck back just to look up at his face which was halfway covered by a hat, that he was the random pedestrian that seemed lost as she was walking to the grocery store the other day. It seemed as if her persuasion for him to join Eclipse Soul had been a success.

Natsumi wanted to approach him, but she was not so sure as to whether he was the same man or not. She did not know why she was having doubts, as she had never seen another man that had been just a tad shorter than two feet taller than her. Her final decision was to approach him, so she stood up straight with her body erect and slowly walked up to him. He seemed too busy thumbing through the requests to notice her, so she decided to say something.

”Hello! I noticed that you are the man that I had persuaded into joining Eclipse Soul! I never got a chance to ask your name though. I’m Natsumi, and you are..?”

Natsumi scolded herself inside her mind, as she had realized that that had seemed like a rather outright introduction, so she attempted to calm down from her hyperactivity and waited patiently for his response.

As Sendo leafed through the job requests he could feel the floor creaking and bending, someone was moving towards him. His hand went instinctively to the trigger of his blade but he didn't turn around or let the person approaching see that he was prepared to counter attack. But after the person had stopped behind him, they stood there for a moment conflicted about something maybe? He wondered what had given them pause but waited patiently continuing to pretend looking through the jobs.

What came next wasn't exactly expected, but at the same time wasn't completely unexpected. A familiar female voice reached his ears and he let his tension go, it was that girl again. The one who had suggested he become a member of the guild days before. The one he saw lounging at the counter and had hoped not to disturb. He wondered why she seemed so overly excited to make his acquaintance, but at least she had the manners to say her name before asking his. He let out an inaudible sigh of relief and released the trigger on his sheathe, putting his palm on the end of the hilt. He spun around, letting his coat tails lick the air as he moved. Looking down at the girl he pushed his hat up over his eyes and smiled softly down at her.

"Ahh, its you again. So Natsumi was your name" He nodded slightly before continuing "Right, im... Well you can call me Sendo, its the only name I have really known for a time. I'm surprised you remembered me, we only spoke for a few minutes in passing the other day. What brings you here? Looking for a job as well?"

He looked down at her standing straight up, he wondered what it was like to see the world from a different angle like that. What was it like when he was a child growing up? What was that view point like, what was that life like?

The man had acknowledged her introduction, and had introduced himself as well. He told her that he had gone by the name of Sendo. Before she could speak again, he asked her what brought her here and if she was looking for a job as well. Natsumi smiled and nodded, then skimmed the board for a slight moment in search for any jobs of her rank that had seemed to take her interest.

As Natsumi had skimmed the board, it was noticeable that she was hesitating saying something, as her mouth had hung ajar. Natsumi took a deep breath, then spoke. ”Say, how about we do a job together? It would be nice to have a partner to work with and such.”

Natsumi asked while she looked up at the tall man with a half smile. She didn’t want to seem too happy, but then again she didn’t want to seem harsh, so she decided upon shooting him a warm, half smile.

The girl, Natsumi asked if they could do a job together. Not with the exact words, but in his mind her way of asking wasn't too far off. She was an odd one to be sure, she made a bunch of weird facial expressions up at him that resembled attempted smiles. He wondered why she would even try to attempt them, it wasn't difficult to see that she was excited to talk to someone else and to have a chance to bring them on a job with her. He wondered why she approached him to do jobs with and not another guild member. Oh well he thought, may as well go with her, at least it will make the work a little easier. Sendo smiled back at her and spoke while looking over at the job board.

"Alright, I guess that would make things easier since we can split the work, though I have to say its odd for you to be wanting to do jobs with me after only having known me for a few minutes".

The girl definitely was a scatter brain, but besides that he still couldn't see why she would be in a guild like this or have any relation to going bad at all. Then again looks can be deceiving so letting ones guard down wasn't ever an option. But from what he could gather so far, she was just a preppy girl who got overly excited and friendly when meeting new people. Not that its a bad trait, but still not a good one either. It never paid off for him to be too trusting of anyone, so for now he'll handle her with child's gloves and be careful.

Natsumi’s appearance began to brighten when he accepted the offer to be partners. She’s glad that she is able to meet new people and have interaction with others that share the same interests as her, which is magic. Natsumi beamed, all until he mentioned that it was odd for her to want to do a job with him after only knowing him for a few minutes. Then her face dropped, and she began to explain herself. She did not want to seem vulnerable or weak in any way shape or form.

”Well,” Natsumi said while breathing a slight sigh, ”I’m not in any way vulnerable if that’s what you think. I believe that certain people carry auras that give away their true personality, and I can sense a warm and gentle aura coming from you, but then again I can also sense a harsh aura coming from you. But, everybody is different depending on the situations in battle and the situations out of battle.”

Natsumi paused, then gazed at the request board and snatched the first paper she saw, then handed it to Sendo. ”We’ll get to see each other’s harsher side once we start working together, so I’m not too worried about it at the moment. I’m not even worried about it at all, but still. What are your opinions on this job?”

Sendo couldn't help but feel laughter welling up within him when she mentioned him being gentle. He kept his appearance calm and composed but all he could think about was how wrong she was about him. Also about how badly she misinterpreted what he had meant. He said what he did not because he thought she was weak but because he thought she seemed way too trusting of him after only knowing him for a few minutes. It wasn't natural for a person to be like that but whatever people are all different. Sendo took the paper from her and his smile went flat and emotionless.

"Be careful what you wish for, you may not like what you get in return..."

He quickly read over the job request and shrugged, it seemed like an ok job to him. A little bit of danger but what was life without a bit of risk added into it but just a boring collection of menial tasks. Sendo shrugged and started walking out with the job request, as he did he held it over his shoulder and called back to Natsumi.

"Hey you coming or what? Lets get this going"

He didn't stop his stride for a moment and continued walking, his coat flapping behind him. Sendo adjusted his hat as he opened the door wide and walked out knowing she would follow.

Sendo’s appearance changed from gentle to cold. He seemed as if he had had a sudden mood swing, just as Natsumi sometimes has. Natsumi had wondered why all of a sudden his mood had swung in the direction of evil. Maybe she was wrong about him. She wondered for a second, then she realized that he was already walking in the direction of the door, yelling behind himself, asking the awkward redhead if she was coming or not.

Even though he could not see Natsumi in that moment, she nodded her head yes, and ran to catch up with him, hoping that this wasn’t going to be for the worse.
