She thinks highly of her abilities and is very competitive, always comparing herself to others around her.  But this doesn’t make Althea feel insignificant, it helps Althea see that she has a long way to grow and motivates her to keep improving.  Due to her unshakable drive, Althea’s aura is both very vigorous and easy to read.

In battle, Althea is practically the same person as out of it.  She gives everything her all -- even if her heart isn’t truly in the battle.  She charges her enemy head on, but can still use tactics to succeed.  She excels at one on one combat and loathes having to plow through weaker enemies in order to reach stronger ones. Althea finds it an absolute bore and would rather just fight the strongest one first.  Althea doesn’t mind doing things by herself at all and sees adventuring with a group as some sort of fun thing to do with friends.

Althea is a confident yet daring person, not hesitating to face the newest problem and to do it with great nonchalance.  She voices any of her thoughts as they come to mind despite where she may be or who she's talking to, although Althea has a tendency to not put forward any valid reason when she does.  And often she doesn't, acting almost entirely on impulse and doing whatever she wants when she wants to do it.  The only points of time where she doesn't would be if she were attempting to preserve her humanity, stifling any of her more violent and apathetic impulses.  This may cause her to come off as even more uncaring than she already is in situations, making a delay between an event and Althea reacting to it.  Seeing as her natural instinct is to react to something with the same level of care as a wild animal, the young girl first stops herself from acting before even processing an event.  This leads to many blank stares at nothing, silent moments of no movement, and other odd, cold gestures that would otherwise be unexpressed by someone with a personality like Althea's.  But once boiled down to the basics, Althea is in fact a quiet, cold, and uncaring beast, she just happens to pursue humanity to a fault.

Personality:
Althea is a daring yet childlike person, always facing issues with unwavering nonchalance.  She voices any of her thoughts as they come to mind with no regard to where she may be or who she's speaking to.  But this is just one road bump to overcome when interacting with her because Althea tends to not put forward any valid reason for her words or actions.  And often she doesn't have a reason at all, acting entirely on impulse and doing whatever she wants whenever she wants to.  The only point of time where she doesn't deviate tasks would be if she were attempting to preserve her humanity.  In those cases, Althea would stifle any of her more violent and apathetic impulses, producing a delay between an event and Althea's reaction to it.  And when she finally does react, she'll do so in a short, concise manner.  This often causes her to come off as oblivious or just incredibly indifferent.  But seeing as her instinct is to respond with the same level of care as a wild animal, it's a necessary precaution.  This leads to many blank stares, silent moments of no movement, and other odd, cold gestures that wouldn't otherwise be expressed by someone with a personality like Althea's.  But once boiled down to the basics, Althea is in fact a quiet, cold, and uncaring person.  The only reason she behaves in a childlike, upbeat fashion is due to her pursuit of humanity.

She doesn't mind bending the rules to her advantage and has little to no respect for authority in the first place.  She just finds that abiding by laws is more convenient than going against them.  It helps that many enforced regulations are against being violent in any way, something that Althea doesn't want to do anyway.  And yet, she aims to become stronger as a mage and finds great joy in battle, both of which are paths that lead to physical conflicts.  So instead of just avoiding it completely, she tends to just prevent herself from getting completely into combat.  Amid combat, she's always ready to stop herself from committing a truly inhumane act.  This doesn't mean she doesn't kill people, Althea just refuses to go out of her way to do so for her enjoyment.  At her core, the young girl undoubtedly loves to revel in the suffering of others, but she simply denies herself from indulging in such things.  Thus, when Althea kills she attempts to do so with no real emotion or ill-will against anyone, it was just unfortunate that the situation called for such actions.  However, this distinction doesn't stop her from murdering when it isn't required.  So if someone fights Althea, that alone is reason enough for their life to end.

Althea is a rather straightforward person, and her capacity to lie is heavily dependant on the situation.  Sometimes she literally could not be bothered, but at times she doesn't hesitate to deceive others for her convenience.  She behaves in a childish, selfish manner, doing whatever she wants with minimal self-restraint.  However, she possesses just about no social awareness.  Maybe it's because she grew up away from society, but she can be so naive at times that it crosses over into the realm of stupidity.  The most everyday of situations could result in the youth pondering for an extensive period.  Following her internal line of logic is incredibly difficult, but she does have one.  That means she can potentially conclude chocolate is made through human sacrifices and give you a reason for believing so.

In battle, Althea is practically the same person as out of it.  She restrains herself from being too inhumane but doesn't hesitate before throwing hands.  She typically approaches her enemy head-on, but can still use tactics of her own making to succeed.  She does so by taking advantage of her surroundings, knowledge of her enemy, and any other possible factors.  The youth excels at one on one combat, yet doesn’t loathe having to plow through mass amounts of opponents.  Each one offers a different flair to battle, and as long as she isn’t acting purely on instinct she'll be fine.

Althea wouldn't mind having to work under or as a leader, after all it’s a commonplace occurrence in the world of magic.  She does what she needs to do as long as she retains her humanity without any problems.  Of course, if she doesn’t like her leader she would be naturally inclined to find an excuse to simply not do what they say, but those instances don’t happen often.  But, if she was in a leadership position, Althea would probably be able to manage somehow.  Nothing about her garners any form of respect, she acts on impulse, and she's clueless about many things.  However, when she's given a task, she will go to any lengths to complete it.

Likes:
♢ Combat || Althea loves to engage in fights with those around her.  It doesn't matter as long as the discrepancy of strength isn't too high.
♢ Blackberries || Althea enjoys any sort of fruit, but there is a special place in her heart for blackberries.  She doesn't need to eat, but she often finds herself craving them.
♢ Mountains || Althea loves the mountains and anything that reminds her of them: snow, fir trees, even a gust of some crisp, chilly air.  Having spent a large chunk of her life living in them, she has many good memories connected to them.

Dislikes:
♢ Unnecessary Suffering || People in pain for no good reason is something Althea could very well gain some sort of enjoyment from, but she chooses not to.  Humans possess "empathy", so when someone else feels bad, they do too, and no one likes that.  Therefore, it is only logical that Althea too would seek to prevent any unwarranted suffering.
♢ Hot Weather || Althea loathes the heat and would do almost anything to keep cool.  She could use magic to keep herself at a preferred temperature, but even looking at things that appear much too warm for her subsequently causes her to feel the same.
♢ Bothersome People || The range of those who annoy Althea is rather broad.  It may be someone who said just one thing that got on her nerves or a genuine maniac, but half of the time that proves to be no problem due to how malleable her opinions of others are.  However, if someone continues to inconvenience her, Althea may just deem them "not worth the effort".

Motivations:
♢ To Grow Stronger || Almost all of Althea’s actions are in pursuit of surpassing her limits.  And although that is her main drive, it isn't truly her wish.  However, she can't shake off her natural desire for growth.  Other than this one, Althea shouldn't have any desires in the first place.
♢ Friendship || Althea pursues new friendships in even the most questionable areas.  She wants to be around people and to feel the comradery with others.  This particular desire was simply derived from the previous owner of Clarity, but Althea still likes the idea of having friends despite not knowing what it means.
♢ Humanity || Althea's main priority is to maintain her humanity.  She has no idea how or when she decided to seek "compassion", but it was a long time ago.

Those who knew Althea from her former years as an energetic, happy-go-lucky young girl would likely be surprised by her current personality. In the past, she was excited by even the most mundane activities. But now, it’s unlikely to see her displaying any emotion other than dull indifference. Oftentimes, she still feels the same enthusiasm underneath the surface, but the levels at which she openly displays emotions have lowered dramatically. After residing in the land of aetherial spirits, the Aetherial Wastes, for a prolonged time, Althea responded by adopting a more closed-off and subdued demeanor. And in that mundane, lonely world where she had nothing but her thoughts for company, there wasn’t much to be happy about in the first place. The only purely positive change for her was the erasure of her at times indiscriminate love for suffering and gore. Due to the direct link she established with the Aetherial Wastes after being forcibly reverse summoned, she has enough aethernano to no longer be slowly driven mad.

Nowadays, Althea places little to no value on any forms of sentimentality, adopting an even more harsh, utilitarian approach than before. Additionally, she lacks any form of moral code, and she’d do whatever it takes to fulfill her self-interests. She is and always has been very single-minded, and she’d be willing to forsake relationships and pride for the sake of a single goal. To Althea, that level of selfishness and hyper-fixation is only natural; everyone’s main priority should always be their safety and desires. However, with the majority of her life having been spent in the wilderness or a wasteland, Althea is extremely unskilled in any social setting. She lacks compassion, fails to pick up on social cues, and is incapable of reading the room. The spirit just says what she’s thinking without much regard to those around her, and will at times take their words literally.

The battlefield is where Althea feels most in her element, its straightforward nature proving to be much easier for her than any interaction with another person. All she has to do is respond to her opponent’s action in a back-and-forth struggle for victory, and she’d do anything to win. When put under the jurisdiction of a leader, however, Althea has no qualms about working amongst others. Unless they give her a good reason to think so, running around on her own would be a much less effective solution than simply utilizing teamwork. And when she’s in a position to issue orders herself, Althea would coordinate the same way she fights. Her plans always boil down to going straight for the throat, mercilessly stomping out any hope for recovery, and immediately discarding any weak links in the operation.

Likes:
• Combat | As she returns to Earthland, a dimension full of variety and life, Althea is once again able to pit herself against others. Whether it be a fight for survival or just a fun spar, she enjoys measuring her and her opponent’s fighting prowess.
• Naps | Althea doesn’t need to sleep… but it’s nice to take breaks sometimes.
• Nature | As someone who grew up on the mountainside, Althea has grown to appreciate the natural beauty of the outdoors even more after her time in the Wastes.

Dislikes:
• Mundanity | Waking up and doing the same tiresome schedule every day is something Althea already has too much experience with.
• Weakness | Althea resents anyone or anything that can’t take care of themselves. She doesn’t consider the safety of others to be her responsibility and would be quick to discard any burdens if it came down to it.
• Curiosity | Why do some people feel the need to ask so many questions?  Either way, Althea isn’t keen on giving them too many answers.

Motivations:
• Contractors | The only thing stopping Althea from returning to the Aetherial Wastes is non-aethernano magic power. Seeing as she no longer produces ethernano herself, the spirit must rely on alternative magic sources and contracts to remain in this dimension. Even in a contract that provides no magic power, the magic-based “connection” it forms between Althea and Earthland would be essential in a worst-case scenario.
• Wandering | Earthland is wide, and there are still many things Althea has never seen or experienced. So, she wants to explore the world while trying to figure out what her place in it is.
• Strength | Althea deplores stagnation, and she desires the strength to accomplish any task she wishes.

Fears:
• Returning to the Aetherial Wastes | That dimension of voids and emptiness was like Althea’s personal hell. She ended up adapting to the suffocating loneliness, but would still do anything to never return. Being in a similarly isolating environment would also be terrifying to her, but to Althea, no void is quite as empty as the Wastes.
• Attachment | Bonds are intangible and can be severed far too easily, it’d be far less emotionally taxing for Althea to retain a distance from things she would otherwise care deeply for.
• Confined Spaces | The sensation of feeling “stuck” somewhere is bone-chilling for Althea.
