Grand Theft Auto Empty Grand Theft Auto

While the name Motor City appeared as banal as could be afforded, most people who had experienced life in that technological marvel of a place would definitely forget whoever had come up with such a name. It was said that if you were looking for any vehicle, automated, mind you, one could get it here. Which was what the cab driver was currently telling Nita, as his cab, an innovation that looked, for all intents and purposes like your average, garden variety automobile, but actually ran on water, drove down the busy roads of the expansive city. He was obviously trying to impress her with his knowledge of the place, but she wasn't too keen on listening to him show off. "I actually came here for a horse," the Pergrandian announced proudly, as though Motor City were a stable of some sort. The cab driver raised an eyebrow, wondering whether the young lady in his cab had actually been listening to him, or she was daft. He decided to pick the latter as her apparent malady.

"A horse? Seems like you're in the wrong city, girl," he said over his shoulder. "You'll probably be having to go to that hot, dry Desierto country to get a horse. Did someone tell you you could get a horse in Motor City? They were just befuddling your mind, blondie. But don't worry, if you stick with me, I'll make sure you don't get cheated."

Nita appeared the picture of innocent surprise. "Why are we saying anything about buying horses? I don't believe I made any mention of buying horses."

"Forgetting things now, are we?" the cab driver asked, now convinced his passenger was a stereotypical airhead. "Wasn't it you who said you came here to buy a horse?" Nita giggled in amusement. "No, silly. My mission in this city regards the wellbeing of a horse." The man scoffed. "What? You expect that you'll find a vet doctor here in Motor City? It's best if you let someone like me--" Nita interrupted him by bursting into laughter. "You're one of the most amusing cab drivers I have ever met. No one ever said anything about vets, you darling dunderhead. I want to get a tractor engine. My client's horse has been overworked since his tractor's engine got knocked.  So I came here to get an engine to relieve the poor horse. What else did you think I was talking about?" It was all a lie, though; Nita was not here to save the back of any beast of burden.

And the rest of the journey was spent with the cab driver foolishly trying to prove his intelligence with words, only to end up having Nita make him blunder in his understanding of her comments, which resulted in her laughing at him. By the time the cab arrived at the Garage, those who saw the vehicle arrive wondered why the driver was red in the face, and his passenger was looking tickled pink. He almost even drove off without collecting his pay. As the Pergrandian chuckled to herself, a man dressed in a full suit and sunglasses walked up to her. "Nita Fortune? The boss would like to see you." She looked the man up and down, "Well, you aren't looking bad yourself, but isn't it a little too hot to be wearing a tie?" There was a stony silence. "Lead the way, then," the Luminous Rose mage said with a laugh, falling in step behind him.

The man in the suit led her to where three other similarly dressed individuals stood around a very much shorter man (shorter than her even), who was dressed like them, except that everything he wore was all white. "Nita Fortune?" he asked. "You don't look anything like I expected. I thought a highly ranked mage would look more fearsome." She responded with a nonchalant shrug. "Same goes for you, Mr. Criceto. I was told you were a man of high standing, and I'm afraid I can jump over you, literally." There was a moment of silence, as one of the man's guards reached into his suit. But Mr. Criceto burst into laughter, nodding his head. "Touche!" he said waving his hand dismissively at the guard who had reached for whatever hidden device. Nita grinned and winked at the guard. He was as responsive as a pebble. "I like spirited people," Criceto was saying, as he began to walk. "This way, Ms. Fortune."

The Pergrandian followed him, the two of them flanked by the four bodyguards. "One of my best engineers came up with this neat engine idea. I'm no grease monkey, but hearing him describe it made even me interested in seeing the wonders of this engine. He's built it, and we're currently fitting it into a racecar, as there's going to be a major race tomorrow. This car will be driven with all my bets on it. With the things I have seen and heard about this engine, and the quality of my racer, this race is as good as won. However, I have realized that some elements do not want me to win this race, which would be rather unfortunate, were such a thing to happen. which is why I have spared no expense in acquiring the services of a powerful mage, such as yourself. Your job is to ensure that the engine is not stolen until tomorrow, when the race happens. And I will ensure you get your money; maybe even a bonus, if you impress me."

"I always aim to please, Mr. Criceto."

Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

“♪This might be the night that my dreams might let me know, all the stars are closer, all the stars are closer, all the stars are closer…♪”

One thing that Willow had discovered she absolutely loved was the music that Earthland offered. There was something about the way they fused different instruments together, weaved beats and notes into different sounds, new tones that felt so much like inventing to her. Plus the humans seemed to know just how to craft a melody, be it heavy and fast or slow and passionate. Of all the things she didn’t enjoy about Earthland -- and that list was numerous -- music was not one of them.

Nor was magic, though she hadn’t managed to acquire any yet. She was displeased at how primitive Earthland’s technology had progressed, though it was obvious that it had been a side effect of magic. With supernatural powers that could practically grant any wish a person could hope for, why bother advancing the sciences? There were a few ‘experts’ in the world that were attempting to push the scientific agenda forward and others that were seemingly just trying to mix both science and magic together. It was cute, for sapiens, but it wasn’t going to result in any kind of breakthrough in the near future. The general populace was happy with the status quo, which seemed to envelope distrust, political deception and war -- yet a few other aspects that Willow enjoyed seeing.

Though the Nazru were gone, from what she could tell, there was nothing keeping her from sowing the seeds of chaos that they had trained her for. Which is precisely what brought her to Motortown. A populated town made up of mechanics and tinkerers, it was a veritable heaven for one like Willow. When she had read about it on the posted note in the guild, she had instantly found herself drawn to it. The opportunity to see what Earthland could offer in terms of engineering and stealing a breakthrough piece of tech? It was a dream come true.

Willow walked down the street, bobbing her head to the music that played in her headphones. Truly she didn’t even need the headphones, as she could just program the music to play in her head but blending in was always an important tactic when scouting out a target. She hummed and mumbled along with the verses and sang out loud without reservation during the chorus. Her bright ocean blue hair was tied back in two long braids, bouncing against her lower thighs as she moved along. A pair of sunglasses, aviators to be precise, covered her eyes, reflecting the world back in its face. Her outfit was limited; a leather bikini top that showed off plenty of her midriff and tattooed arms. A pair of bright pink shorts, so short that they were practically boxers, clung tight to her hips. A single pink legging wrapped around her right leg, with loose, untied boots over her feet. She walked along like any punk kid would, both her singing and her outfit drawing eyes and attention from the crowd around her.

That was fine; so long as they were checking her out or wondering why she was singing aloud, they weren’t wondering about anything else. That’s why no one even thought twice as Willow opened her mouth, reached in and pulled out the wad of chewing gum that she had been vehemently snacking on. Placing it on her thumb, she placed her middle finger on the crease and then flicked the gum at the nearest building, apparently disposing of it. The wet substance smacked against the wall and stuck, forgotten and ignored by everyone else. Continuing to hum, Willow retreated into her mind and enacted her program, shocking the gum to life. The pasty substance suddenly extended thin, gooey arms and hurried up the wall like a spider retreating to its web. It located a crack in the exterior wall and pushed itself inside, sliding through the tight confines.

A moment later, a single, pink tendril emerged from the small hole in the wall within the building. Through the microscopic nanites inside the gum, Willow was able to view the entirety of the room. It looked to be a hanger of some sort or a vehicle port. There were several engineers moving about, working on different projects. But the thing that caught her eye was the automobile, clearly designed for speed racing.

She grinned as she kept walking; that must be where the engine was. With that noted, she locked the gum in its place so that she could keep a watchful eye over the dock. In the meantime, she had to get back to her equipment and find a decent watchtower in which to plan her next steps. On she went, continuing to hum and sing, as if she didn’t have a care in the world.

The group walked for a bit through the street of the busy city, Mr. Criceto seemingly unbothered by the picture that their group was cutting. Nita didn’t personally like it; being surrounded by four guards made it look like she was providing escort duties for the man or something. It was a horrible portrait, the type that was not permitted to exist. As a rule, Nita didn’t care about what was said about her, but professionals had standards, and she was sure she qualified as a professional mage, with her abilities and slowly rising reputation. And one of the standards that Nita could not allow to be violated was that she could not be assumed to be going out with a fellow *that* much shorter than she was, unless she was actually going out with him. ”If you’ll excuse me, ‘Friendly Looking Guy With the Stone Face’,” the Pergrandian said, pushing past the bodyguard in question so that she was outside Mr. Criceto’s human perimeter. ”There’s no need to act so uncomfortable like that,” Mr. Criceto said with a chuckle. ”While I don’t doubt your prowess as a mage, and your ability to take care of yourself, why not enjoy the services of my guards for a bit?”

”That wouldn’t do at all, walking in the center with you,” Nita replied, grabbing the forearm of one of the guards and clinging to him, ”I want people to think I’m dating this one. He looks like he could crack a coconut with his jaw.”The short man laughed and shook his head. At least he had a sense of humor. Nita couldn’t figure why bodyguards were all expected to be so serious and apparently unemotional. The thought of seeing a laughing bodyguard kicking butt while defending their client was more impressive, in the Pergrandian’s opinion, than having those faces with less physical expressions than the inside of a skillet. The group did not have long to walk, and they soon arrived at a rather large, spacious hangar, full of busy people running up and down and doing whatever it was that mechanics and engineers did. Nita had always been clueless about the more technological side of things, a feature of herself which she considered ironic, seeing as after Bosco, Pergrande was supposedly the most technologically advanced nation on the Ishgaran continent. Well, not everyone in Pergrande could be an engineer. And she was no longer in Pergrande, anyway.

From the behaviors and deferential attitudes of the people milling about in the hangar, it was obvious that Mr. Criceto was the owner of the place. And Nita had to hand it to the man; he seemed like the good-natured, charismatic sort. It was those kinds of people that Nita found quite dangerous, because for all Criceto’s laughter and smiles, he had mean bodyguards, and seemed rather comfortable with them, which meant that he either was used to them as people, or used to the rough life. Besides, the hat on his head, despite the fact that it fit him rather well, was the sort that many mob leaders in Fiorean historical cinemas seemed to favor. Criceto struck her as the kind of guy who would cut off your fingers with a cigar cutter, and be smiling while doing so. In any case, he seemed legit enough to not have even the slightest reputational smear on his name (yes, Nita had a habit of checking the backgrounds of those who requested her services on missions), and seemed to be well-spoken off by the folks in government, and those on the street. It was quite impressive to see that those that showed him deference in the hanger seemed to respond with more reverence than fear, and he acknowledged as many of them as he could. Maybe he wasn’t as evil as Nita imagined, but that hat….

After a little bit of walking into the hangar, the group arrived at a car. To call it impressive was an understatement. ”Well, look at her,” Mr. Criceto said proudly, indicating the vehicle with a dramatic sweep of his arm. ”Isn’t this baby a beauty?” Nita shrugged. ”Well, obviously not as pretty as me, that goes without saying, but I can see why you’re impressed.” Obviously, just by looking at the vehicle’s exterior alone, it was most definitely an expensive piece of work. ”Well, this is your ward. Keep my vehicle safe,” the short man said, affectionately rubbing the side of the car, as the workers around attached chains to a rectangular slab on which it stood. The chains were attached to a heavy-duty crane, which gently and slowly lifted the slab with the car on it, and trundled towards the other exit of the hangar. ”My engineers built this car to be as tough as it’s fast, a real technological marvel, if ever there was one. But I don’t want to have it driven about yet. My people say it is bad luck for a car which is to have its first race to be driven around on the day before the race,” the white-garbed man said, as he walked alongside the slowly moving crane. Nita had absolutely no idea where that superstition came from, but she was not going to complain. Everyone was free to believe what they wanted, as long as it didn’t harm others.

”Right,” she simply said, nodding once. As the crane emerged from the hangar, Nita noticed that there were rail tracks nearby. The car was going to be loaded onto a train, and transported to one of Criceto’s safe houses in the city, to wait until the morrow, when it would compete in its maiden race. And as the vehicle was loaded, as delicately as if it was an egg, onto the train, Nita had no idea that the car was being observed by inhuman eyes. ”So, does your car have a name?” the Pergrandian asked. People did love naming things of value to them, so it was expected that the vehicle would be no different. Criceto, however, looked surprised. ”Come to think of it, I haven’t named it.”

”You should.” After a bit of wrangling, a name was decided for it: the Criceto Comet. Mr. Criceto was initially not keen on the name, but everyone, including his bodyguards seemed to approve of it, so he shrugged. ”Well, I’ll see you tomorrow at the safe house, Ms. Fortune,” said the man, as Nita got onto the train that bore the Criceto Comet, and the train began to move. Only she and the train operator were the humans on board the train, which only consisted of two cabins: the engine, and the one which carried the precious cargo, now covered by a thick tarpaulin sheet.

Hopefully, there wouldn’t be any issues till the safe house was reached.

Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

Willow didn’t make it very far away when a new group entered the car port and boy, they were something else. There was a beauteous woman who had herself wrapped around a rather burly, hunky man near the front of the pack. A short, ill-dressed man stood in the middle, flanked by much more impressive specimens. Clearly this was the owner of the car and his bodyguards, though the woman seemed quite the conundrum. Turning on the audio over the music in her ears, Willow dipped down an alley, skipping for a few steps, at least until she was sure no one was going to glance down. Then quickly she bounced off the walls, freerunning her way over the gate near the middle of the valley. Flipping elegantly over the chainlink, she landed by a set of trash bins, where she had hid her equipment from sight.

All the while, she listened in on the discussion around the car. The man was clearly showing off the vehicle with all the pride of a papa bird; Willow could see through the nanites how he seemed to stare lovingly at the vehicle. The woman commented on the car not being as attractive as she was but was still impressed nonetheless. “Aw, so pretty and yet no regard for beauty,” Willow mused to herself. It was what came next that perked her ears; it seemed the car was meant to be the woman’s focus, as the man requested she keep it safe. So a group of burly men and this woman were the protective detail, was it? No, the men were probably for the owner -- that meant the woman was the sole guardian. Most likely a magic user of some kind, if she was here all on her lonesome.

A complication but one she could work around. So long as she didn’t have to engage the woman directly, it wouldn’t be too much trouble. Of course, on the flip side of things, having to do battle with a magic user could be a challenge. Decisions, decisions… she closed up the bag and pressed a button on the side of it, causing it to suddenly release an abrupt cloud of smoke. A moment later, a capsule of some sort clattered to the ground. Picking it up, Willow sprinted up the side of the building and once more bounced between both segments on the alley, allowing her to scale the height and get to the roof.

About that time, the owner was talking about the car. Interestingly enough, chains were being attached to the pallet that the car was on. A crane came over and lifted the vehicle up and began to transport it across the hanger, as the owner explained that driving a car before its designated race was bad luck. Willow giggled in amusement at the mental image of the poor bastard wailing when he discovered that his treasured vehicle had been stolen. She commanded the gum to slide out of the hole and follow the group, curious to where the car was being taken to. After a moment of darkness and then staring at the boring side of a building, the gum managed to curl a single strand around the corner and found the group and the vehicle before a train.

A fast moving metal caravan from the looks of it. Worse, it wasn’t a long set of cabled cars; only two that made up the compartment for the driver and guard and then another for the precious cargo itself. She frowned; there was no way she was keeping up with a vehicle of that speed, let alone without being spotted. She couldn’t even properly attach her nanites without arousing suspicion at this point. No, it was time for a new strategy. As she ran along the rooftop, she heard the unmistakable sound of an engine revving. Glancing down, she noticed a man sitting upon a two-wheel vehicle of some sorts. A quick tactical scan with her eyes gave her some very intriguing and useful details. Sliding the visual of the train preparing to leave in the corner of her vision, she bounded over several rooftops until she was just above the bike. Leaping down, she landed with an ungraceful thud on the back seat on the bike. The man spun around in surprise, staring at her wide-eyed. “Heya!” she said with a wave. “I’m gonna need this vehicle of yours.”

With an impressive flexibility, she put one leg down on the ground and spun the other up and around, clocking the man in the side of the head. He tumbled off the bike as Willow came back to her normal position, then scooting herself forward to the rider’s main seat. She grabbed onto the handles and gave them a quick jerk, sending her screeching forward. Whooping loudly, she swerved around an approaching car and got control of the bike, grinning widely as she reigned it in. Her visual showed that the train was already on its way, the transport now heading to the safe house that the man had mentioned. She ran a quick calculation to where the rails would lead and revved the engine once more, blustering out of Motor City like a bat out of hell. She made sure she was going as quickly as possible, wanting to get ahead of the train. She spied in the distance, once more running a quick set of calculations in her head. She’d need some kind of satellite system set up in the near future; she hated having to do all the extra legwork.

Once she was plenty far ahead, she swerved off road and towards the rails. She slowed down as she approached them, taking a quick glance down the way to see if she could see lights yet. With no indication of the train within sight, she then hopped off the bike, backflipping over herself and letting the vehicle lose control. It jerked to the right and then bounced several times, splintering the chassis and sending metal fragments all over the ground. And just like she planned it, it hit the metal rail and bounced up before swiftly crashing back down, nearly splitting in half on top of one of the rails.

Willow grinned as she reached into the left side of her leather top and withdrew a small, disc like device. She threw it towards the bike before she took off to the closest bush. The device bounced a few times before activated, lighting up and crafting a perfect, holographic body. It stood with its arms spread out, its default state without any additional programming. It looked as basic a person as one could be, with simple brown hair and brown eyes and no other special features. As Willow slid into the foliage, she sent a command to the device. The holographic image solidified, looking as real as a person, and then crumpled over the bike, looking like the tragic victim of a terrible accident. With all of that in place, Willow lay in wait, prepared to strike when the moment was ripe.

Grand Theft Auto Empty Re: Grand Theft Auto

Post by Fraag 27th March 2022, 5:57 pm

As the train began its journey to Mr. Criceto’s safe house, the Pergrandian mage could not help but begin running probable scenarios in which the car would be stolen. It was very unlikely to be attacked at the hangar, on the close environs, as it was very likely that he vehicle’s owner would be able to summon help as quickly as possible. If it was going to be attacked at the safe house, then whoever was doing the attacking would have to bring a good deal of  cavalry to bust the place and steal the Comet. Which meant that a not so large scale attack would be best done during transit, especially as it seemed, for all intents and purposes, that the car was not being guarded by an adequate number of personnel during the period within which it was being transported to the safe house. Of course, it was not so logical to expect an attack on the rails, given the train’s present speed, but that was all the more reason to be vigilant. After all, ambushes worked best when they were unexpected. The fact that it was getting late in the day meant that visibility would soon become an included undesirable factor, and while Nita was sure she could hold her own well in a fight that required the ability to navigate without eyesight, proper lighting was always optimal.

The light mage turned and looked at where the sun sunk quite low on the horizon. Although she had said nothing, the train operator seemed to correctly infer what she was thinking, as he said, ”Don’t worry about sundown, ma’am. We’ll be at the safe house before it gets dark.”. Nita turned and looked at the young man. He was somewhere within her age bracket, maybe even older than she was, but he had chosen to always refer to her using that title. It made her feel old, but she had decided to give up on persuading him to stop referring to her as “ma’am”, when he had mentioned that she was likely very powerful, for Mr. Criceto to have entrusted the task of protecting the Comet to her alone, and as a result, even if she was younger than he was, he had to show his respect somehow. In the Pergrandian’s opinion, that was still a little bit weird, but weird and respectful was always better than normal and rude. ”And I don’t think there should be any worry while we’re on the rails, unless we’re up against someone or something that can destroy rail tracks, or derail a huge bulky mass moving at high speed.”

”While I hate to rain on your parade, ” Nita answered, ”simple explosives should be able to make an awful mess of the rails. And I don’t know, if I had to, I could probably derail this train. I haven’t thought about how I can do that, anyway, so don’t ask me for details,” she finished with a laugh. The young man, however, did not seem amused in the slightest, his eyes growing wide with wonder as he stared at her. ”Wow! Are you serious? You’re incredible, ma’am!” Again with the honorific. But still, it was nice to hear someone being impressed by her. Nevertheless, her father had always said that humility was a good virtue to exercise, and she had never really felt she had worked to get her powers, with the way she had come across them. In truth, it wasn’t everyone who tried to get strong that was able to achieve that dream, and this was something she would never forget. ”Nah, I’m probably not as amazing as you’re imagining, but I do get by….”

And almost at the same time, as the train rounded a bend, they could see in the evening, something on the rails. The light had not dwindled enough to make distant things imperceptible, and from what lay before them, it seemed to have been an accident on the rails. ”Is that—is that someone on the rails?!” the train operator said in alarm, as he reached for the emergency brakes. ”Don’t!” Nita yelled, springing from her seat and grabbing his hand. He gave her an incredulous look, most likely shocked that someone who was expected to be a light mage was comfortable with having a probably injured person get run over by the oncoming train. ”But whoever’s there might be alive…” he protested. ”I know,” Nita replied gently. ”But have you thought that this might also be an ambush? While I would feel very conflicted if I had to choose between saving the fellow on the tracks, and protecting your boss’s car, I think we should be able to do both, so set your heart at ease, and let me do what I can. If you must know, one of my key values is the preservation of human life, and I won’t let anything further happen to whoever’s out there.” The worried expression on the man’s face melted into relief, and he nodded. ”Alright, ma’am.”

Nita smiled and clapped him on the shoulder. ”Good man. I’m going up to the roof to get a better look, and see what I can do to save that person.” With that, she held up her hand, and a black card with a heart design instantly materialized in her hand and imploded, seemingly sucking the mage into itself as it winked out from existence. A dull thud informed the train operator that Nita was now on the roof, as she squinted at the image on the tracks not so far off now. She would have to time this right. A human life was in the balance. A card appeared in her hand, and then disappeared in a little flash of light, replaced by a coiled golden whip. ”Wild Cards: Canasta!” She held out her left hand, and a number of cards appeared in the air around her, and she waited. The spell range was not incredible, compared to a number of other spells she knew, but if she timed this right, there wouldn’t be a problem. One of the cards in front of her suddenly darted out as the train neared the fallen figure, and Nita swung her whip, its lash entering one of the cards near her and emerging much further, from the card which had darted close to the figure on the rails. Wrapping round whatever was on the rails, the whip dragged the mass back into the portal, and as it emerged from the card near Nita, in a split second the Pergrandian recognized the bike carcass and dodged it, whereas she would have caught it if it had been a human body. Alarm bells began to ring in her head as the twisted bike tumbled into the bushes beside the rail tracks.

”Expect an ambush!” Nita yelled, keeping her Canasta cards and the whip in her hand at the ready. The fun had begun.

Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

The trap was set but there was absolutely no guarantee it would work. Maybe the blonde woman wasn’t the empathic type and would choose to run over the accident site for the sake of protecting her cargo. Worse yet, they could not see it until it was too late and wind up hitting the motorcycle and causing a big accident. Then the engine could be damaged and that would be such a pain in the ass. She had plenty of other options and routes she could go by but she wouldn’t be able to enact them until things were in motion. As she hunkered in the bushes, she popped a few tablets out from her leather top, bringing them up to her face to read over the little notes she had added onto them. Deciding on what she preferred, she kept two out and stored the rest back. She would need a means to quickly and efficiently ghosthack the car and if it ran similar to other automotives on Earthland, that made it rather simple. But she would most likely still need something to deal with the woman.

As the train approached, there was no sign of it slowing down. Willow sat in cover, quiet as death, staring through the thicket as the locomotive bore down on the crash site. If they just ran over the motorcycle and fake body, she’d have something in mind for that. Unhooking a small rounded device from her belt, she flipped it on, her finger hovering just above a larger, red button on its face. Then the blonde woman appeared on top of the engine, materializing from nothing like she had just emerged from a black hole. That was surprising and awesome and yet it continued to get even more so as the woman pulled something up and then took hold of a golden whip. “Hot stuff’s got moves,” she mumbled to herself with a grin. The woman yelled something similar to a chant and then a series of floating cards appeared all around her, hovering through invisible, magical tethers.

Then as they came upon the wreck, one of the cards shot forward and the dungeon mistress (as she would hence be called) uncoiled her whip and lashed it forward. The end of the whip traveled through one of the near cards and reappeared from the farther one, bringing her reach well upon the motorcycle. It wrapped around the destroyed vehicle and pulled it both through the card towards her. Willow had to suppress the overwhelming sensation to hoot in amazement, thoroughly invigorated by the woman’s panache, wit and tactical thinking, along with her brilliant use of magic. The smoking husk emerged by Nita and she easily dodged out of the way of it.

But Willow’s fake body had been jostled in the yank, causing it to twist slightly to the side and out of the way of the tracks. The woman, even as she yelled out a warning to the driver of the train, seemed far more focused on the area in front and on either side. Willow giggled as she hit the button on her device, her body sucked into a small temporal rip. The fake body glimmered and then opened up a portal from its core, shooting Willow out from it. She landed on the tarp on top of the car, catching herself in a half crouch. Grabbing a portion of the sheet, she pulled back, ripping it just enough to see the brilliant sheen of the car’s veneer. Both tablets, spread between her fingers, were activated, as Willow slammed one down on the car’s surface and the other transformed into a rocket launcher.

“Thanks for the fun, sugah,” she called to Nita, giving the woman a wink as she lined up the rocket and fired, unleashing a guided missile. The legal mage would no doubt realize that she was not the target but the train and its driver were. The car, now connected to Willow’s internal computer, revved to life. Now, with hopefully a moment bought by her explosive distraction, Willow pulled out her blaster and started to disintegrate the chains holding the car in place so that it could burst free from its constraints and race back across the flatland.

A sound of something heavy landing alerted Nita to the fact that she and the train operator weren’t the only ones on the train now. Of course, the young Pergrandian was now absolutely sure of the fact that their carriage was under attack, although at present she could not say for certain just what sort of abilities were being used to assault the moving train. As the blonde mage turned to see the intruder, she saw a young woman like herself, petite with rather long, light blue hair, and an outfit that Nita would have to be careful to wear, if she was going on a mission. The perks of having a body such as hers. There was something that worried Nita, though. While the girl seemed to get good grades in the looks department, there was something in her pink eyes that reminded Nita of the word, ‘unhinged’. Oh, and she had a rocket launcher in her hand. That was absolutely normal. It was in the rule book for those who were trying to get on a train while it was in motion: have a rocket launcher. Bonus points for if said person was trying to steal a car from the train.

[color:0fb1= #ffbbff]”Thank you-- wait, what?!” Nita said, eyes widening in alarm as she took note of where the young woman was aiming. It was getting old, but that trick always seemed to work: when a light mage was involved, it was best to get innocents involved, in order to get them out of the way.  As the blue haired woman aimed down the sights of the missile dispenser, Nita thought to herself that there was a stroke of luck on her side: she had not dispelled the Canasta spell. Well, she was often lucky; one did not bear the name Ms. Fortune and not have some seasons of four leaved clover goodness. Since the sexy hoodlum was aiming at her, she would probably not see anything else, unless she had extra senses like Nita had, and even then, Nita did get surprised from time to time, especially when she wasn’t paying adequate attention. Quickly directing one of her Canasta cards towards the car, Nita jammed it where the glass of the window of the passenger’s side met the door, even as she directed another card some distance off the rail tracks. And then she flipped backward, placing one hand on the edge of the train’s roof and using it as a pivot to swing herself, legs first, into the train. Even as her legs were entering the train, she wrapped them around the surprised train operator, and teleported, just as the launched missile smashed into the engine carriage, disconnecting it from the carriage which held the car, and sending it tumbling off into the shrubbery growing beside the tracks. The carriage with the Criceto Comet was stable enough, although, as it was no longer connected to the engine, it slowed to a grinding halt. Whoever this girl was, she seemed to know her job quite well, but she also did seem to be quite a few cards short of a full deck.

[color:0fb1= #ffbbff]”Are you alright?” Nita asked the stunned train operator. He nodded, still in the process of getting his wits about him. Quickly, the Pergrandian held up her hand, and a black card formed in it, which she pressed into the hand of the train operator. [color:0fb1= #ffbbff]”I’m going to need information on how to get to the safe house. And tell your boss sorry for me; it seems his car will have to be driven before the race.” All this time would probably have given the thieving girl enough time to undo all the car’s restraints; while the success of the mission counted, Nita wanted to be sure she was leaving safe people behind. And since that put more pressure on her ability to fulfil her mission’s requirements, as it did today, the onus fell on her to learn how to keep people safe, and end up carrying out the mission requirements at the same time. It was sometimes difficult being one of the good guys, but the realization that people were able to live because she was around did mean a lot to her. That in itself was thanks enough. In the meantime, there was some correction to be done.

As Nita lifted her head, the Criceto Comet would be already in motion, as its thief had decided to use it, expectedly, as a getaway vehicle from the scene of the crime. While Nita had a failsafe plan, the plan would only be successful if the car didn’t leave the spell’s distance limit. And seeing that this was a rather speedy vehicle, the Pergrandian knew she had very little time to react, or she would have to chase the car. Personally, Nita suspected that if she had to chase the vehicle, she would be able to catch up to it, but she was not in the mood to put that assumption to the test. Maybe she would ask to race the vehicle, when this mission had been successfully completed, and the client was happy. For now, she had more important issues to deal with. Issue number one was that the Canasta card was on the outside of the car, which meant that Nita would appear outside the car, unless psycho gal decided to roll down the windows, and Nita wasn’t sure she would. This meant that the Pergrandian would have to cast another spell immediately her teleport was successful. Could she do it?  There was one way to find out.

With a whoosh, Nita teleported, even as the car was making good its escape. No sooner had she appeared than she deactivated the Canasta even as she pulled another card. And she and the card vanished into thin air, only for her to reappear in the passenger’s seat, her eyes scanning the dashboard as she arrived, and taking note of a few things. She exhaled loudly, and then would say, if the fruitcake was in the vehicle with her, ”hi!” The fact that the girl had activated the car’s engine without using keys most likely meant that the girl was a user of technology. Nita wasn’t too familiar with the workings of technology, but she would see how the stuff fared against her magic.

Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

Willow was more than a little pleased with herself. The chances of her pulling off anything remotely to what she had done had been minimal and miniscule at best. But once again her technology had proven its superiority and defied the odds. The blonde mage was stunned at the sight of the missile launcher, so much so that she barely could register the gratitude handed down to her from Willow. The sound of the missile rushing out from the tube, the sharp hiss and whistle of smoke and fire, thrilled her to the bone and she had to forcibly make herself continue the rest of her plan without being distracted. Opting not to watch the other woman and focusing entirely on freeing the car and making her getaway, Willow pulled out her firearm and dissolved the chainlinks and locks holding the car securely to the carriage. When the last one melted away into ash, she programmed the car in her head to slam on the gas. And just as the missile detonated, the Criceto Comet was rushing out from its pedestal, landing on the rails for the train and quickly heading in the opposite direction.

Willow finally turned her attention back to the train, grinning from ear to ear as she watched the flaming engine burst off the rails and tumble into the wilderness beyond. If the woman and driver made it, there wasn’t any sign of them from her place standing upon the front of the car. Even if they did, it would be nearly impossible for her to catch up unless her magic allowed her to fly at a high rate of speed. Giggling, Willow spun the dial on her firearm and then lowered it to aim at the top panel that she stood upon. As she pulled the trigger, a focused but only moderately strong laser shot out from the end, ripping through the flimsy covering. Willow twirled in place and then leapt to the side like a graceful, albeit dangerous, ballerina. She’d timed it perfectly that the moment she jumped, she had turned off her weapon and cut off the flow of focus on the hood. Now with a perfect circle cut into the protective covering, Willow bent down and pried off the metal fragment she had cut loose, idly tossing it over her shoulder. It tumbled onto the ground and landed flat against earth, lost and forgotten at the moment by all parties.

Kneeling down, Willow’s eyes lit up in amazement at the sight of the engine before her. Turning her vision to xray, she soaked up every intricate detail of the engine as it ran at full tilt, her sensors analyzing and recording the data at a rapid rate. The only thing that distracted her was the sudden rush of air, an unknown whoosh ripping nearby. Frowning slightly, she lifted her gaze to find the blonde mage sitting on the passenger side of the car, having animated herself into the seat. With her xray vision still activated, Willow got a lot more content from the woman than before. After a moment she deactivated it and stood up, grinning. “Well color me surprised, goldy. You’re a lot more crafty than I gave you credit for. It’s almost a shame we’re on opposite sides of things rather than snuggling up and getting to know one another.”

But alas. Willow spun the dial on her weapon once more and pointed it at Nita. “Nonetheless, I’m gonna need you to exit the vehicle. Finders keepers, losers weepers -- you know the whole shebang. And I’d rather not have to put any holes in that fine body of yours if I don’t have to. So how ‘bout you tell your boss that a dashingly beautiful rogue managed to get away with the car and call it a day? Hell, I’ll even tell you where I’ll dump the car so he can have it back. I’m only here for the engine.”

”Why thank you kindly,” Nita replied with a smile to the grinning Willow, who in the next minute pointed her weapon at the Pergrandian mage. Being the ever so dramatic person that she was, Nita held up her hands when she saw the weapon leveled at her, a look of innocent surprise on her freckled face. Of course, she did have a number of ways by which she could respond to an attack made against her, but perhaps it was safest to not try to invite attacks, as the whole purpose of this mission was to see that the Criceto Comet was ready and in good shape for tomorrow’s race. If Willow fired at her, the windshield would end up suffering, even if Nita avoided the blast. That Willow was interested in the engine alone was a little bit troublesome. If the blue-haired rascal needed the entire car in good shape, she might be careful of being reckless with it. Since it was only the engine she needed, however, Willow would definitely not care what happened to the rest of the vehicle.  Nita could already see a hole in the hood. That wasn’t good. The blonde mage didn’t really know much about vehicles and tech, but she was sure that if the hoods of cars were meant to have holes in them, their designers would surely have designed hoods that came with holes.

”Okay, now how do I put this, love?” Nita replied, still keeping her hands up. ”If we’re going to talk about finders keepers, I found the car first, so you’re supposed to be the weeper here, am I right? And while I feel very much honored that you almost considered it a shame that we can’t be snuggle buddies, I prefer my snuggle buddies with beards and chiseled jawlines and deep voices and all what not. So…” A card appeared in her hand, and in the instant that it appeared, both Nita and the card were gone, and Willow would discover that the blonde mage was standing behind her, on the hood of the moving car.

”Boo!”Nita said in Willow’s ear, as she quickly tried to grab her opponent’s gun-holding arm. If she succeeded, she would attempt to twist it such that the eccentric engineer would not be able to point it at her, and not be able to hit the Criceto Comet either, if the rogue was willing to attempt pulling the trigger to distract Nita. She could already tell that she was facing someone with not too many scruples (probably none at all, actually), but Nita was not inclined to start off with exceeding violence.

”Now then, your offer to tell me where you’ll dump the car is mighty generous of you, hon, but I’m going to have to turn down that offer. You see, professionals have standards, so they say. If I were to let you run along with that engine, what would my employers say? I’ve got a growing reputation to feed, and what’s to be said if word is on the street that a gal can’t hold a job? Now, since we both seem to be agreed on the lack of interest in putting holes in little old me, how about we do this instead?” Saying so, , and Willow would feel mild discomfort as well. ”Firstly, why don’t we stop pointing dangerous things at people? It’s rude, and someone could get hurt. Also, why don’t we have you stop whatever weird shenanigans you’re using to move the car, and let me take it to its intended destination, so that my dear client can use it in his race tomorrow? And I’ll tell the cops that this dashingly beautiful rogue isn’t all that bad, so they’ll go easy on you. Because yes, I intend to have you arrested for interfering with my business. Did you know that at some point in my life I wanted to be a cop? But there were uniform issues, so down the drain went my dream. But as they say, once you have it, it always stays with you. Now behave, Pumpkin Pie, or Mama will have to spank you. And she doesn’t spank softly. Oh, I love your outfit, by the way. I don’t know if I’m bold enough to wear it out on a rough night out with the girls, though. But I think handcuffs will become a more permanent fixture on my work clothes.”

Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

The blonde mage had her hands up the moment the firearm was aimed at her, a sign that she was, at least, amenable to the firepower Willow packed. And she looked as innocent as a pyriad in a maunchasaur nest, though that was most likely just to try and buy herself time. That was fine for Willow; she had no problem seeing exactly what this woman was capable of. She made her offer to let the blonde mage have the car back; a far better deal than any other crook might have considered. After all, an empty husk didn’t mean much to the tech savvy Willow. But as Nita put it, she had been the first to happen upon the vehicle so, by Willow’s own logic, she should have superior rights over the vehicle. And sadly, it seemed the blonde mage favored people of the masculine type. Willow’s grin widened and she was about to make a snarky, if not playful remark when the woman suddenly produced a card and… disappeared.

Willow looked surprised. But she didn’t have a whole lot of time to consider the disappearance and where she could have gone before the woman provided the answer by saying one word into her ear. Willow attempted to spin around, weapon at the ready, but Nita was there and on guard, slithering her arm underneath Willow’s and putting her in a lock. And boy was the blonde mage strong. Willow gave a small jerk with her arm to test just how much of a grip Nita had and she was completely secure and locked in. Damn, that was impressive. With nowhere to run at the moment, and frankly, she was curious to see what the other woman had to say, Willow was forced to stand there on the hood as Nita declined her offer, stating that her professional career was just beginning and it would be quite the blemish to fail so extraordinarily in her current job.

With that, Nita offered a counter and gave Willow a slight twist, causing her arm to become quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately for Nita, she was most likely about to be just as uncomfortable when Willow gave out a small and shuddered moan -- a tiny one that wasn’t too over the top but significant and noticeable. It had been quite some time since someone had handled her so roughly, far too long even. And knowing just how strong and domineering Nita was in her current position was doing everything right for Willow. But she bit her lower lip, silencing herself for the moment as Nita continued with her own offer. Stop the car, return it to her and Nita would put in a good word with the policing force that she had every intention of contacting. She even mused over the fact that she had once wanted to be a cop but the uniform wouldn’t have worked out. Then she insisted that Willow behave or that she would receive a dutiful, hard spanking. Oh she was feisty.

Willow giggled as Nita complimented her outfit, admitting that she probably couldn’t find the boldness to wear it out herself. “Oh I think you’re quite bold, mama,” Willow said back to her, using her own nickname. “You say that you prefer men but here you are, all close and intimate with me. You’re gonna give a girl the wrong impression and besides, even pasta is straight until it gets wet.” She twisted her head just enough to look over her shoulder at Nita, her gaze flirtatious and impish. She gently released the gun from her steadfast grip, letting it twirl upside down by the hair trigger harmlessly, a sign that she was relenting to Nita’s demands. “But as much as I’m very interested in having you spank me while in cuffs, I’m afraid I’m not the jailbird type. I’m more of the you-should-watch-where-the-car-is-driving type.”

Counting that that provided an ample enough opening, even a fraction of a second, Willow’s free arm would snap down to her belt, grab one of the devices hanging there and snap it onto the closest piece of clothing she could reach of Nita’s. The device would activate, jagged teeth latching onto the fabric as glowing red eyes lit up and it began to tick. “Oopsie!” she exclaimed. “Well now we got ourselves a pickle. That nifty little bomb there has a blast radius of about two miles. Big enough payload to blow you, me and this fancy car skyhigh. So to counter your counter; let me have the engine and I won’t detonate this entire area. Fair warning tho; trying that teleport thing you have could set it off early. I don’t honestly know, I don’t know much about your magic.”

Willow grinned. “I’ll take that spanking too, mama.”

Nita was surprised, and admittedly a little worried at Willow's response to having her arm twisted uncomfortably. The sound that had escaped the blue-haired girl's lips may have been due to pain, but it seemed much more improper than that. Still, the Pergrandian decided not to quickly jump to any assumptions, and put that out of her mind for the time being. With someone as dangerously sly as Willow had shown herself to be, allowing one's self to be taken off guard was definitely not in the best interests of whoever was trying to apprehend the tech-savvy criminal. As of yet, the Luminous Rose mage could not tell what other technological tricks the mischievous young woman had up her proverbial sleeves, seeing as there were no literal sleeves to hide anything under. Though Nita was sure she was most likely stronger than the cute fruit cake, she was also quite aware of how resourcefulness and intelligence could upend odds that seemed stacked against the smart one. Unfortunately for the Pergrandian, she still had a lot to learn when it came to the more risqué side of things, despite her dressing style, and whether Willow was aware of this or not, the anarchist had temporarily gained the advantage with her words.

”Wha—what?!” the blonde mage stammered, her cheeks heating up at the innuendo laden adage. ”What’s that even supposed to mean?” Nita managed to ask, trying not to meet the tech thief’s gaze. ”I know little to nothing about cooking pasta, so there.” Yeah, that was a big lie; not only was she a rather practiced cook, Nita was also sure that she had an idea of what Willow was talking about, but she had to concentrate. Such dirty things were not supposed to be said so casually. Discipline was surely in order, although it did seem somewhat disturbing that the blue-haired scamp didn’t seem too averse to being handcuffed and spanked. Perhaps she would make the girl see the error of her ways, when the punishment came. It did appear, though, that the girl had resigned herself to being taken in by Nita, though the former didn’t seem interested in going to jail. There was something about the whole ‘not being a jailbird’ thing that made the Pergrandian suspect she had walked into a trap, though.

    ”Ah?”

The strange device latched to her left shoulder gave off an ominous repeating beep, even as Nita released the rogue in alarm. While it was latched only to the fabric of her jacket (and so removing it would not cause any direct damage to her, as her skin had not been broken by this device), Nita suspected that attempting to rip off the device would cause it to explode, and the two mile wide radius didn’t sound particularly pleasant; the Pergrandian was sure that she could probably manage herself if she was alone, but the car was certainly not to be damaged further. In any case, the blue-haired criminal’s maneuver did give Nita an insight into how probably sane the girl was, seeing that she would probably be caught in the two mile blast as well, but didn’t seem to care. ”Are you out of your mind?!” the Luminous Rose mage asked in surprise and mild irritation, as her mind worked on how to deal with the device. It was very likely Willow could cause the item to detonate at will, so Nita had to think fast. Her hand strayed to the zipper of her jacket, her face revealing her unease at whatever she was about to do. Then she ripped her jacket clean off of her body, even as she called, ”Suit of Clubs: Full House!” A myriad of cards swirled into being and wrapped around the jacket, as Nita pulled her hand away from it. There was a dull boom as the device that had been latched to her jacket exploded, although the explosion was quietly contained by the Full House shield. ”Wild Card: Sybil Flourish!” As the cards dissipated, Nita was already forming another card, which she dropped, said card rapidly expanding until it swallowed the moving car whole, leaving the two women in the air, moving due to the momentum previously afforded them by the speeding car. Grabbing the card which housed the captured car, the blonde mage did a graceful flip and landed on her feet. Come to think of it, she was now dressed more like Willow. She scowled. ”So what are you going to do next?” the light mage asked, walking slowly towards Willow, ”latch another one of them devices on my shorts? And yes, I believe you’re about to get that mommy’s spanking you so properly deserve. Now stop being a naughty girl and don’t try to run; you’ll only prolong the inevitable and probably get us both dirty and hot.”

Wait, that last part did not come out right. It had been meant literally, but Nita suspected something lewd could be contrived from the statement. She hoped her quarry would be too worried about the apparently impending jail time to respond adequately.

This poor woman. It was quite clear that no one had spoken so frankly to her before, at least not in the way that Willow was. Her confident demeanor seemed to crack, her words stammered rather than perfectly eloquent or practiced. It was music to Willow’s ears; hearing the unsure, chaotic tears open up in an otherwise perfect sheen. Nita demanded to know what the Xocili meant by her words, despite knowing exactly what she was clearly hinting at. And then she was quick to explain that she had no knowledge of how to cook pasta, earning a giggle out of Willow. “Aw sugah, I never said anythin’ about cooking. So I have a feeling you know exactly what I mean,” Willow gave the girl a flirty look, despite her predicament. Anything she could do to unsettle Nita’s stance, her perfected facade. That and there was little denying that there was a very genuine attraction to the more powerful blonde, unhelped by the fact that Nita was clearly superior in strength.

But Willow was more than a match in wits. Nita was quick on her feet but she thought like all law-abiding citizens did. Willow had the benefit of thinking in the chaos and it was her momentary distraction that gave her ample opportunity to snap her explosive onto Nita’s jacket. In her surprise, the blonde mage released Willow, allowing the Xocili to leap to the opposing side of the car hood, planting her feet squarely against the windshield. All Nita could exclaim at the explanation of the bomb was demanding to know if Willow was well within her mental faculties. “Oh always. I spend too much time in there and it can get scary,” she said, tapping a finger against her temple. But rather than taking further advantage of the situation, she decided to watch and see how Nita handled the explosive. In an instant, she had unzipped her jacket, seemingly embarrassed by the action, and then yelled out some kind of chant. Her cards returned in force, wrapping around the discarded jacket and entrapping it. It caused just enough agitation to the bomb to make it go critical and a muffled explosion rocked the cards, though they remained in place and kept the flames from hurting them or the car.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, she then cast yet another spell, producing another card and dropping it. It swiftly expanded and swallowed up the car until it disappeared from under their feet. And she was calling Willow dangerous; she just ripped out their ride from under them. This woman was bold; Willow liked bold. As she began to fall, she rotated her firearm back into her palm and spun the dial on it. Then, rotating her body forward, she fired into the ground, the shockwave from the blast sending her further into the air but also working to slow her down. She pulled her limbs close, twisting head over rear in a contained, spiraling flip. When she came back down, she rolled her legs over her head so that she was backrolling and then performed a back handspring, landing on her feet several yards away from Nita.

She chuckled as she raised her gun-bearing arm up, resting it almost casually near her shoulder. Nita asked what her plan was next, wondering if she would attempt to latch another bomb on her pants. “If it’ll help me get them off ya, I might. I like where your head’s at, blondy,” Willow responded with another wink. Nita insisted that the spanking was coming and berated her as a naughty girl, stating that attempting to run would only make them both dirty and hot. Willow gave an amusing, thrilled groan. “Every word out of your mouth, mama, is so tantalizing. You sure you ain’t looking to experiment? You’ve got the car now so there’s nothin’ keeping me here, save maybe trying to wrestle it from your hands. And by everything you’re saying, you sound like you wouldn’t mind a tumble with naughty ol’ me.”

Losing the engine was a pain but she’d, at least, had the time to scan it. Rebuilding it would take some time and effort but she could afford that, so long as she didn’t wind up in a position keeping her from her tools. But now she was wondering just how far she could push this mage woman. Would she actually spank her?

Only one way to find out. With a spin of the dial on her firearm, she leveled it and fired off several shots in Nita’s direction. If they hit, they would definitely smart but they were hardly lethal. Even as she did that, Willow pulled yet another bomb from her hip and tossed it in front of her. Its mouth opened up and it began to spin wildly as pitch black smoke erupted from its core, expanding the plume outwards. Switching her vision over to thermal, Willow casually moved into the smog and continued to fire at Nita, hoping to draw her in.

Nita had to admit, for all the highly insane inclinations of this blue haired nut job, she did seem to be an interesting sort of person... that was, when she was not being so lewd, which seemed to be almost all, if not all, the time. "I can't believe a part of me is enjoying this altercation just a little, cavorting with such untoward members of society" Nita mused silently to herself, feeling a bit of embarrassment for deriving some pleasure from the wild and free nature of the tech rogue. The stealing and blowing things up were no-nos, and that was why she wouldn't just let Willow off the hook. If she was embarrassed, Maria was positively delighted. "Did you just say, 'just a little', Nita dear?" her alter ego chuckled. "My my, the good guys aren't supposed to be lying. Seems like there isn't just one naughty girl that needs punishment."

"Shut your face!" Nita answered mentally, very grateful that Willow was not privy to the discussion going on in her head. Still, it was easy to have slip ups when one was not fully concentrating on the matters at hand, due to having an argument with a gloating mental associate. "Feel free to come and try tagging me again with your bombs..." Nita said idle-mindedly before catching herself. She was not supposed to make things worse. In any case, Willow was sort of right, in the sense that Nita would not mind a wrestling match, but most certainly in the way Willow meant it. Combat appealed to the Pergrandian, but she was beginning to doubt she would be able to fight Willow hand-to-hand, without the crazy rogue seeing the combat round as something else. The groan Willow had let out was proof of it.

As Willow brought her weapon to bear on the Pergrandian, Nita responded by evading the shots successfully. The rogue deployed another device, this one emitting a huge blanket of black smoke in order to remove the advantage of sight from the light mage. Unfortunately, that was not going to work. Nita's Aspect of Knowledge allowed her to detect things and react to them without the use of her physical senses, and the light mage didn't skip a beat as she weaved around the fired bullets, closing the distance between herself and Willow. When she reached an appropriate distance, the Luminous Rose mage lunged, reaching out to grab at Willow. "Gotcha!" she exclaimed, as she tried to lay hands on the naughty scamp. If she succeeded, she would attempt to lock Willow in a full nelson wrestling hold, in order to immobilize the latter's hands.

Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

Nita seemed to be having some mental discussions with herself, maybe planning out her next steps or trying to think of a tactic to knock Willow off guard. That or the Xocili was, in fact, getting in her head as successfully as she hoped she was. Willow watched with a delightfully smug and impish grin as Nita wrestled with herself mentally. After a back and forth battle that the Xocili was completely ignorant of, Nita insisted that Willow try to tag her once more with a bomb. The blue-haired machinist giggled wickedly. “Well I do love a challenge!” she declared as she brought her weapon up and began her assault.

The blonde mage proved just how swift and graceful she was, weaving between Willow’s shots with practiced ease. In fact, it was safe to say that the mage’s speed would be a long term problem. Willow already knew that Nita was stronger than her but no doubt her speed was just as refined. As she deployed her smoke, testing to see if she could gain the upperhand by clouding Nita’s senses, the mage continued to dip and move without falter. This was not a battle that Willow was going to win, that much was obvious. The blonde had keener senses and far more strength than the Xocili. All she had as an advantage was her unpredictability. Luckily for her, that was often what allowed Willow the chance to get the upper hand.

Watching her, Willow waited until just before Nita lunged at her. If she allowed her to grab her again, there would be no escape; both of her arms would be out of commission. She had a few ideas of what she could do to make it tougher for Nita but she wanted to avoid that for as long as possible. For the moment, the mage was opting to not use her magic and was engaging her on equal, if somewhat skewed footing. The moment Nita lunged, Willow’s pushed off her back feet and launched herself at Nita in kind. Instead of looking for a grab though, the Xocili fell to her knees and slid beneath the outstretched arms of the mage. As she did, she raised one hand to her mouth and then blew a kiss to the blonde woman. And the moment she was past her arms, Willow popped up and attempted to reach behind her, having used her other hand to detach her second to last explosive, and tried to attach it not to Nita’s pants but what remained of her top.

Taking off in a sprint, Willow circled around Nita, bringing her firearm up once more and firing off pot shots. All the while she was giggling maniacally, enjoying the battle, despite how limited her advantage was. Win or lose, it would be clear to Nita that Willow was having an absolute blast, her quarry forgotten and her attention fully on the blonde Luminous Rose mage. “All this flirting and I didn’t even get your name. I’m gonna need something to moan out later!” Willow called out to Nita, her gun blasting off shot after shot.

Nita was surprised, for the umpteenth time that night, but rather impressed at the nut job's unpredictability, when the latter launched herself at the Pergrandian, instead of trying to run away. Nita chose not to redirect her arms to attempt another grab at Willow when the dark mage slid beneath her reaching arms. "Ooh, I like this one; this has turned out to be much more exciting than I expected," Maria laughed in her head. "It's rather obvious, from your lack of interest in apprehending her swiftly, that you're enjoying this too, much more than a decent and good member of society, which you profess yourself to be, should." Nita did not grace the gloating Primordial with an answer. She was beginning to wonder exactly how Maria wanted the outcome of this encounter to turn out.

Willow's blown kiss was responded to with a raised eyebrow by Nita, the Pergrandian immediately expecting something... improper to follow. And she was right. Except that instead of aiming to fulfil the challenge that she had professed her love for, the tech-savvy thief had opted to submit the light mage to a possibly much more embarrassing option. "Logically, the little scamp's stratagem has merit..." Maria commented in glee. "Oh, I forgot, you're little too. Do you know you're about an inch shorter than she is?" Nita ignored her again, more focused on the 'danger' at hand. "Goodness! Behave now!!" she said in alarm, as a wall of cards sprang up at the last moment, and Willow's device latched onto one of them, which shot skyward immediately. While Nita was fond of calling the names of her spells, there was no time to announce her use of the Suit of Diamonds: Piquet Deck, as her state of duress did not allow her to.

"Wait, Maria, are you trying to distract me?!" Nita finally asked the voice in her head. There was some silence, then Maria replied, "Me? No. Why?" But their shared mental space meant that neither could lie to the other, and Nita had sensed Maria's disappointment at her being able to respond to the strange bomb thing in time. "Just whose side are you on? And after I bothered to give you a name. This is the height of ingratitude!"

"Stop sounding as if I'm trying to kill you or something." Maria sounded defensive. "Besides in a battle between the innocent maiden and the sexually charged rogue, everyone roots for the rogue. If you want me to root for you, you'll have to stop being so prudish. Or, better yet, let me out to handle your fruit cake friend." Nita refused, even as she began weaving Willow's bullets again. "So that you'll do with her things so shameful I won't be able to look myself in the mirror again?" It was Maria's turn to vehemently protest her innocence.

"Eh? Flirting?" Nita asked, staring at Willow in affected surprise, though she couldn't help her cheeks coloring slightly at the last sentence. "I'm sure you've got it all wrong, but proper etiquette demands that when an introduction is requested, then an introduction must be had, in most cases. So I shall oblige you, though I must ask that you desist from using my name in such an unholy manner as you intend. I am Nita Fortune, but you may refer to me as the Black Maria. And in turn, you must tell me your name. I would personally love to be involved in preparing the police report against you, your biggest crime being your offense to my virtuous sensibilities." Maria scoffed in Nita's head. "And while we're introducing ourselves, Suit of Spades: Royal Flush!" A number of cards appeared round the Pergrandian, and two whirled towards Willow, aiming to sever her belt, on which Nita had noticed she carried most of her gadgets. "We need to stop you from playing with all those dangerous toys. And your belt could serve the secondary function of me using it to tie you up well and good."

    Willow Banner
Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

Oh she was good. She was really good, especially in the situation where she wanted to keep her modesty above all else. No sooner had Willow shot her arm up in an impish attempt to force the woman out of her top than the bomb latched onto a set of cards that Nita had summoned from the ether. The spiraling pieces of paper shot up into the sky, bringing the following explosion far enough away from both of them to protect both health and formality. That was too bad but was yet another testament to how willful and witty her blonde opponent was.

Now with some distance to gain, the Xocili rifled out several shots at Nita as she took off in a sprint, doing her best to keep the advantage for her long range. Nita continued to weave between the blasts easily, displaying that despite how her morals and modesty had been shaken, she was still more than capable of fighting unabated. She refuted the idea that they were flirting -- they totally were though -- and insisted that since Willow had asked for a name, proper etiquette required she provide one, though she adamantly insisted that it not be used in any derogatory manner. She presented herself as Nita Fortune, though she asked that she be called Black Maria and insisted she receive a name in return as payment. “Oh no sugah, I never said anythin’ about telling you my name. You want me to give you that, you’re gonna have to earn that. This is all merely foreplay and while a girl does enjoy a long build up, I’m gonna need you to bring your A game if you want more answers out of me.”

Her small monologue provided an opening for Nita, who introduced a spell into the mix by summoning up a storm of cards and sending two of them towards Willow. The Xocili made an attempt to flip over the incoming objects but her computing ability had no way of predicting their angle or trajectory with the assistance of supernatural powers. One of the cards managed to hit true, slicing through her belt even as she was midair. She frowned as she landed from her flip, her belt hitting the ground several feet away from her. There was only one bomb left on it but that would still be helpful. But if she made a move towards it, no doubt Nita was prepared to counter her.

Unfolding the tab tucked in her bra would provide the rest of her arsenal but without a place to store it and draw from it, it would be essentially useless. She did still have one last decoy tab… She smirked as she twisted her body and once more took off running, now heading directly towards Nita. She brought up her gun and fired several shots at Nita, her aim still focused on slowing Nita down, despite how wiry her opponent was. As she came in close, she reached into her top and withdrew a tab, making sure to hold it up enough for the blonde mage to see. Then she threw it at her own feet, the tab exploding in a puff of smoke and launching Willow into the air, once more flipping over herself as she gave Nita a small wiggle of her eyebrows.

The t-posing decoy stood in place, unimpressive and showing no signs of hostility. The danger was still in Willow but as the Xocili somersaulted through the air, she spun the dial on her firearm once more. With a pull of the trigger, she disappeared into a wormhole… only to come shooting out from the center of the decoy. With any luck, Nita would still be standing in place, trying to comprehend what the hell was happening. Whether her back was to the decoy or her front, Willow’s entire body rocketed towards her and the Xocili did her best to similarly tackle the woman to the ground. If it was Nita’s front, she would quickly pin her arms down on the ground above her head, an attempt to keep her from moving or fighting back. She may have been stronger but Willow put the full weight of her body down as she straddled Nita, her metal skeleton adding far more poundage than a normal human being. If it was Nita’s back, she would still attempt to pin the woman’s arms but rather than above her head, she would try to pull them behind her back. She would grin. “Look who is tied up now, mama,” she whispered seductively. “So where’s this fall on your proper etiquette chart? Because I’m bettin’ whatever money you all use on this planet that I’ve got you all hot and bothered. Bet you’re wondering if this blue-haired babe is this good at fighting, what else could she be good at?”

She giggled before she let out a breathy, pleasure-filled moan of Nita’s name. “How’s that for unholy?”

Nita raised an eyebrow in disapproval when Willow refused to reciprocate in the introduction spat and tell the Pergrandian who she was. Of course, that did go against proper etiquette and manners, but Nita supposed it was too much to ask for everyone to have manners. Well, it wasn't like she was in her best behavior at all times, so that breach of etiquette would be overlooked. "Dear me, something really ought to be done about the way you think," the light mage said, shaking her head disapprovingly. "Well, you did say previously that it is scary in your head, hence the consistent vacation of your mental sanity. So I shall try not to blame you. You'll have to do with me calling you 'Fruity Loops' or something then, dear. And I'm really wondering if I should 'bring my A game'. I don't think you've got what it takes to take me."

"I hope you know that there was something horribly improper about your last sentence," Maria pointed out with a smug tone. Nita ignored her again, as she kept her eyes on Willow, her body posture easily giving away that she was ready to attempt an interception if Willow attempted going for her belt, which lay on the ground. Willow nevertheless charged, firing off a number of shots which Nita simply avoided with as limited motion as possible, while idly wondering what next trick she would try. It came in the form of some strange tab; Nita's eyes followed the tab, even as she expertly dodged the projectiles being fired by the dark mage, without looking at Willow's gun, nor the bullets as they flew. It blew up in a puff of smoke, sending Willow into the air. As the rogue performed a smooth somersault over the Luminous Rose mage, Nita followed her trajectory with a curious expression, taking her focus from the strange inert form before her. And then Willow vanished from where she was still sailing through the air, and reappeared out of the decoy, heading straight for Nita. The Pergrandian's eyes widened in surprise, only for her to snap her head back to face the decoy, as Willow launched out of it. What was she trying to do?

As the blue-haired rogue grabbed her hands, the blonde mage's eyes widened in clear surprise. For someone of Willow's size, the scamp was rather heavy; was she human at all? Maybe augmented with robotic parts; she'd watched movies of such human-machine amalgamations, and had even met the Fairy Tail guild leader, who boasted an artificial arm. She had no idea such technology was that rampant, though. Nita squirmed gently, her eyes still wide with surprise, although there was some discomfort present too. "Um, pray love, what are you doing?" she asked. Willow was right, though, her present position was not proper at all. "I'm not all hot and bothered as you suggest, seeing as my excessive lack of clothing and the evening breeze are quite sufficient to keep my temperature at relatively cool levels." Her cheeks were reddening, though. "And I did ask you to not call my name like that. It's so obscene. Have you no shame? And I've got twigs in my hair. Or worse. Let me go this instant!" There was a pause. "So, what do you want to do to me?" the Pergrandian asked, as if surrendering to her fate.

She would quietly wait for an answer, before her next move. Unless Willow had telekinesis or extra arms, the scamp's own hands were immobilized from pinning Nita's to the ground. If Willow tried to make any moves to get into an advantageous position, Nita would not wait for the answer. Her next move was simple, but effective. She pushed off the ground with her right foot, tearing her hands away from Willow's as her body pivoted to her left, her hips serving as the fulcrum of rotation. Despite Willow's heavier frame, Nita's physical strength was light years beyond what she was capable of, and it was her habit to appear all dainty and harmless, until her opponent made a blunder. In Willow's case, the blunder was going for close quarter combat with the Pergrandian, who was quite capable in both armed and unarmed combat. The act of pushing off the ground would flip the bodies of the two mages, allowing Nita to be the one on top. The blonde maiden made sure she did not let the scamp out of her grasp, as Willow was way too slippery to just be allowed any leeway. Pinning the rogue's hands in an identical manner to the way hers were pinned just seconds ago, Nita further cemented her advantage by wrapping her legs around Willow's, in a grapevine leglock. "Now is this A game enough for you, hon?" Nita cooed mockingly. "Don't struggle, or I shall hope, for your sake, that you're flexible enough to do a good split."

    Willow Banner
Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

Fruit Loops wasn’t exactly the most pleasant of nicknames, though it wasn’t inaccurate either. Willow had admitted her own insanity to the woman and Nita had taken the news about as well as anyone could, considering the circumstances. But she insisted that Willow wanted nothing to do with her full effort, as it would be far too much for the Xocili to handle. Willow grinned. “Maybe not but that don’t make it any less fun, now does it?” Willow was severely outmatched and Nita had been playing the entire time. Even if she used just a fraction of her magic, the Xocili would be back on the disadvantage. But Willow wasn’t here to win; she was here to have fun and see if she could wiggle out an escape.

With her belt gone, she’d lost her explosive tactics. So instead she charged, rushing towards Nita at full speed before throwing her tab down and unleashing her dummy. The blonde mage followed Willow’s trajectory rather than paying any mind to the inert dummy, giving the Xocili the perfect opening to teleport back to her distraction and emerge from it. Poor Nita turned just in time to find herself sprawled upon, with Willow straddling her midsection and holding her arms to the ground. She grinned wildly as she looked down at the confused Luminous Rose mage, who insisted she wasn’t bothered by the position, as the air was cool enough to prevent her from feeling overheated. She was dodging the more delicious parts of the question, which only served to tickle Willow further. “Excessive? Blondie, you look hot in what you’re wearing. You should put the girls on display more often,” Willow complimented the woman. “And life is too short to have shame. I’m all about living in the moment and having a good time and looking good while doing it. You should be proud of me -- of anyone! -- moaning your name like that. You’re strong and beautiful and you deserve to be worshiped and pleasured. You can’t tell me you don’t think about it; I saw you clinging to that man’s arm when you were in the shop. You like the attention; you just need to broaden your horizons, lower your inhibitions.”

Willow was nothing if not honest. Deception was a key tool in her arsenal but with that speciality came an understanding of how well the truth could impact as a weapon. As the Xocili saw it, she was just helping to open Nita’s eyes a little bit. She seemed like a woman comfortable in her own flesh and bones but had been brought up to believe one singular path. Willow believed all paths were viable and sought to help others see that as well. As Nita asked what Willow wanted to do, she smiled and leaned in a bit, eyeing up the blonde mage with clear desire. “Well, a lot of things,” she admitted softly, almost sweetly. “But more importantly, I want you to want me to do them to you. And something tells me you’re just a bit curious to what I can do…” Willow smirked and continued to lean in, as if she was going in to kiss the woman.

That proved to be her downfall. One moment she was on top and the next, Nita had found her strength and somehow managed to push off the ground. The Xocili could not hide her surprise as she tilted through the air, the blonde mage rolling over to take the dominant position. She hit the ground with a hard grunt and then her hands were the ones being pinned back and her legs were wrapped up by Nita’s. She looked down between their bodies and as she looked up at the blonde mage, there was little denying the fires of arousal in her gaze. Nita taunted her and insisted she remain passive unless she wanted to be put into a compromising, albeit painful position. “Mmm I wouldn’t mind you splitting me,” she cooed back to her superior. She leaned up as much as she could, closing the distances between their faces. “I’m pretty limber so maybe I’ll struggle just a little,” she said softly, giving a few half-hearted tugs on the hands holding her down, if only to tease the blonde mage. “So now the question is; what do you want to do to me?” Willow asked with a small grin. “Not what you should do, not what morales or upbringing teaches you…”

“What do you want to do to me?”

Despite the fact that Willow was a dark mage, Nita had to confess that she did not mind the admiration she had gotten from her crazy opponent. Yes, that was one of her failings, the ready acceptance of compliments, even if some of them were flattery. "This is a disgrace," Maria gloated amusedly. "You know, you're supposed to be one of the good guys. I thought the followers of the light were supposed to be humble and self effacing." "Whose side are you on?" Nita shot back mentally. "And I hope you know that due to the fact that we share the same soul and the same body, you, Maria, are also a follower of the light. So stop being so judgmental. Besides, you're as much of a sucker for praise as I am, if not even more so." Audibly, her response to Willow's compliments were a bashful "well, my lack of clothing wasn't excessive until your little trick back there. But I am honored you think so highly of me. Thank you." There was absolutely no sarcasm in her voice. "The clinging, though? I was just being dramatic."

But it was true, Nita didn't mind the attention, even if it did seem like a vain thing to want. She was not particularly sure, anyway, what Willow meant by broadening her horizons, but she was not ready to lowering her inhibitions. It seemed tantamount to letting go of her values, and in many cases, the path into evil was a slow and gradual crawl, not the plunging from a precipice that many seemed to imagine it to be. She didn't know what to think about having another woman moaning her name, though. That was a rather... questionable topic to consider, and Maria was most certainly not going to be any help at all, if the Pergrandian decided to do some thinking on the subject. "Did I mention I'm more into guys?"

Suffice to say, Nita was very pleased that her maneuver to get on top of her opponent had proved very effective. Now that she was back with the upper hand, she considered what Willow had said about wanting Willow to do whatever it was Willow wanted to do to her. She quickly assured Maria that the details of the doing were absolutely unnecessary, when the latter had tried to present clarifying elaboration on the subject. What had struck Nita was the fact that Willow, for all her craziness and evil tendencies, was capable of respecting another's wishes and feelings. Somewhat similar to the more dangerous Medeia. What Nita could not figure was why these people were so selective with whom they chose to be cordial and pleasant to. And then she realized that the issue was simply in their fundamental beliefs. No matter how heroic, everyone was capable of evil. No matter how twisted, some level of rectitude could still be performed by the callous. And that was why, the Pergrandian affirmed silently, she was strong: because most people didn't listen unless they were forced to, and Nita's task was to make them listen, and then try to show them the error of their ways. Perhaps this was what Arcanos had called her to do.

"You're being naughty again," the Pergrandian gently chided, at Willow's encouragement for the splitting. "I shall value your dignity and ignore your request. As for what I want to do to you, what I really want to do to you..." there was a pause as she gave it a thought. "Well, I wouldn't mind a wrestling match, but one with a purely martial motive, thank you very kindly," she continued. A wrestling match with someone like Willow could quickly turn into something that would make the Pergrandian blush for the rest of her life. "But most importantly, I would very much like to explain to you in a way that you would understand how your actions have put lives in danger, and it is something I am afraid I can never be comfortable with. To sit you down, talk to you maybe over a drink, and get you to understand that a selfish pursuit of power will only make things worse, not just for everyone else, but eventually for you as well." The Pergrandian's face saddened. "It's merely wishful thinking, though. Something I came to understand a very long time ago."

    Willow Banner
Right or wrong, it's very pleasant to break something from time to time.

“I just tell it like it is, blondy. And I respect strength and beauty. Hell, I’ll even go as far as to admit that strong, controlling people are generally my thing. If you can beat me up, hold me down -- I’m gonna be into you. That or you’ll be in me; depends on what the person likes.” She flashed Nita a flirty little smirk, even as the blonde mage admitted that her hanging onto the bodyguard’s arm was just for the sake of being dramatic. “Ah see? We got things in common. As you can probably see, I’m a bit of a drama nut myself. It’s so much more fun, isn’t it?”

Willow was far too caught up in her own steam to even fathom that Nita could be preparing to mount a counterattack. As she leaned in close to the Luminous Rose mage, Nita expressed that she was more into males than females. “More into? That means there’s some wiggle room. Means I can see about wiggling myself in--” But before she could finish, Nita acted, pushing herself and Willow into the air and flipping the script, as it were. Now as the one pinned down by the exuberant blonde mage, Willow couldn’t help but be impressed and turned on. Nita was clearly not one to give up on her stance; be it physical, emotional or, apparently, philosophically. But Willow put forth the question that she’d been asked, wondering what it was that Nita would desire to do. She didn’t want the heroic speech about arresting her or trying to sway her to the side of the just; she wanted to know what the deep, dark, almost barbaric part of Nita felt in that moment. Willow wanted to break through the mold of teachings and education that had turned Nita into, well, a bit of an uptight woman. She’d been needling her since the moment they engaged one another, testing her armor of morality to see if there were cracks. Nita had managed to resist the Xocili thus far but her compliments, her insinuations, had made an impact. It was just time to see how much damage she had done.

At first, Nita intrigued Willow by stating that she wouldn’t mind a wrestling match, though she wished the motive behind it to be far less sensuous than Willow had hinted at. But continuing on, Nita couldn’t help but fall back into her practices; wanting to reeducate the Xocili into understanding how dangerous her path had been, how she had endangered lives, how her drive for power would make things worse, blah, blah, blah. Willow openly rolled her eyes at the wishes, her head dropping with a thud against the ground. Nita rounded out her thoughts by admitting that she knew that wouldn’t happen, having learned the harsh lesson that some people couldn’t be saved. “Damn right, blondy,” Willow said with a small scoff. “These heroic intentions of yours? Killin’ my lady boner over here. You’re too pent up, too rigid. I keep hoping there’s an animal buried down in there, wanting to get out and have a little fun. But you’re too stuck in your ways. But I see you like a well cooked Savarian steak. It’s going to take some time to really get you perfect. And I got all the time in the world. I’ll get to your juicy center, Black Maria. And you’ll enjoy it when I do.”

Shooting up, Willow moved in quickly to plant a kiss right on Nita’s mouth, holding it with a surprising amount of passion. At the same time, she flicked the dial on her weapon twice and then pulled the trigger. In a split second of time, Willow disappeared and in her stead, the t-posing decoy appeared. It took her place exactly, held down much like Willow had been. Over where the decoy had been, Willow appeared, already reaching into her top and pulling out another tab. She tossed it to the ground and out of the smoke appeared… a cannon. It was an almost over-the-top circus cannon and Willow was sticking out of its end. “Willow, by the way. Remember it well and good, blondy. I expect to be in a fantasy or two.” The Xocili flashed a wink at the Pergrandian just as the cannon exploded, launching Willow into the open sky, attempting to make a hasty and explosive escape!

Grand Theft Auto Empty Re: Grand Theft Auto

Nita was disappointed, but not at all surprised by Willow's dismissive response to her virtuous speech. That Willow considered her as rigid was a little bit amusing to the Pergrandian. True, she was a lot more sexually reserved than someone who rocked her kind of wardrobe was expected by society to be. But Willow had absolutely no idea what she was like before she had gotten fused with Maria. Whichever the case, there was surely something wrong with abandoning all sort of restraint in the pursuit of an endeavor, no matter how just or necessary it was. For something as debatable as sexuality, Nita was even less inclined to throw away any sort of inhibitions. That wasn't her style.

Nita was about to retort, when Willow pushed up and lip locked her. The Pergrandian gave a muffled gasp, and tried to pull away, releasing her hold on the tech-savvy rogue, as her face burned with embarrassment. That gave Willow all the space and time to replace herself with the inert decoy. Nita leaped to her feet, running the back of her hand across her lips, as Willow produced another device, this one a comically gigantic cannon. "What on earth are you--?" She paused as Willow began to speak. She had finally revealed her name. "Oh Willow," Nita said with a sigh, "but *you* might not enjoy it." And then the cannon launched the thief off into the night sky. Nita pulled a card, but sensed unwillingness from Maria.

"She's fleeing because she knows she's beaten. Let her be. We have a vehicle to deliver, and I'm sure Mr. Criceto will be processing bricks from his jolly old rectum by now. If your client dies of a heart attack, what will people say about you?"

"I can't believe you like that criminal," Nita said with some irritation, although the card dissipated into nothing. "I'm not human; I am beyond your pathetic emotions," that was a lie, "but yes, she is a breath of fresh air, when she is not pointing her explosive toys at innocent people. And before you start vomiting blood from outrage, no I'm just as disinterested as you are in shagging her."

"What a vulgar person you are!" Nita chided in scandalized disapproval. "It's you humans that are so interested in gonads and exchanging body fluids and biological immortality, not me." Nita covered her face with her hands, glad Willow wasn't there to see her. "Please stop." Maria was having too much fun to obey. "You do know you're at fault though, right?" the Primordial continued mockingly. "Instead of just acting calm and controlling yourself, you just kept indirectly begging her to continue. Don't you know, and you should be ashamed of yourself that I'm schooling you on human behavior, that the innocent villager girl motif you keep pulling is just begging for it."

"Begging for what?" Nita asked with annoyance. "Oh, I don't know, the attack of Fruity Loops' tongue on your epiglottis?"

"Don't ever speak to me again."

"Oh you know you don't mean that, love."
