    “This is a terrible idea.”

    "I agree.”

“Now ya both need to relax, especially you Van; yours is coming after this.”

Of all the inevitable things to happen in the world, this had been the last thing on Mythal -- or Vandrad’s -- mind’s. Given they were only a few weeks out from a very traumatic and sequence of events involving Mercury’s people, her enslavers and then the Dread Masters, it felt too soon to partake in something so frivolous and, frankly, dumb.  Yet here they were, standing outside the guild hall of Lusty Titans, staring up at the well lit and loud structure with a mixture of annoyance, mild disgust and enthusiasm, the last bit being for Gren’s sake.

Mythal and Serilda had been engaged for almost two years at that point. While a long engagement hadn’t been in their plans, events had transpired on several different occasions, alongside their duties and responsibilities as heads of the Rune Knights, that had kept them from nailing down an official date for their wedding. It wasn’t much of a bother to Mythal; he was ready to get married whenever they could but he didn’t feel any pressure to hurry things up. Serilda’s family was fine with how things were going, as far as he understood, and were actually more than happy to have the twins to focus their attention on. With everything else that had happened in such a short amount of time, any kind of wedding-related topics had been the farthest thing from his mind, let alone anything involving a ‘bachelor’ party.

The Rune Knight Director didn’t have many male friends to start with. He’d been close with Markus for some time but the other Fairy Tail wizard had disappeared some time ago, with nary a trace or a reason for his departure. Since then, Mythal had played things rather close to the chest, at least in terms of making connections with people. He was satisfied with the amount of arm-length provided to him from his position, not allowing anyone within the Rune Knights to get too close or too friendly. Wren was, perhaps, the only one that he had connected with. Unfortunately Gren had learned about that particular connection and made sure to invite the young Rune Knight lad along as well. But upon learning that he had no best man nor plans for anything close to a bachelor party, Gren immediately began making plans for him, much to his chagrin.

Whatever the plans were, neither Mythal nor Vandrad had been made aware of them and they had come together really quickly. It seemed Serilda’s own bachelorette party was being put together for the same night and the two of them were whisked away from one another and told to get dressed in ‘their fanciest outfits’. Mythal didn’t have a whole lot of selection when it came to that so it was left to Gren to dress him. Put in a gray vest with red dressing, a light gray sleeveless shirt and a pair of slacks, Mythal looked more like a punk rock brat than anything else. He did his best to protest to the whole ordeal but his adoptive father was quick to shut him down and order him around.

When they arrived at Hosenka, they found Vandrad waiting outside. He was dressed to impress as well; with a white overcoat that acted more like a cape than anything else and a clean-cut stone gray sweater. He even had a pair of sunglasses that completed the look The former prince looked about as disinterested in the night as Mythal but, just like the Rune Knight, there wasn’t much he could do to escape.

“And you had to choose here of all places?” the Director asked, looking back at Gren.

The former Knight grinned. Gren hadn’t gone to any extravagant level of dressing up, putting on a clean white dress shirt with a red tie and some brown slacks. But he’d certainly taken the time to primp his beard and hair. “Of course. Ruzatz is the perfect guy for this kinda stuff. Besides, he is one of your friends.”

“Yes but Lusty Titans is a bit… uh… promiscuous,” Mythal tried to reason.

“Well I ain’t sure what kind of party you think you were gettin’ but that’s what a bachelor party is, son. Cuttin’ wild and free for one last night. But don’t worry; I ain’t gonna let you get into anythin’ too crazy. Think of this more like a guy’s bondin’ night, huh?”

A guys bonding night. Fantastic. Sighing dramatically, Mythal felt the heavy hand of his adoptive father on his back and soon he and Vandrad were being led up the short stone staircase to the front door. After planting his two sons in front of the barrier, the former Knight reached forward and rapped his knuckles against the frame. Only a moment later the door swung open, revealing the Prime Sin of Lust Ruzatz. Dressed in a full red suit and wiping off some lipstick from his cheek, his smile widened into a full grin at the party gathered before him. “Our main cast has arrived!” he exclaimed jubilantly before waving them in. “Come on in, boys. We’ve got one hell of a night planned for you!”

She was invited? To a bachelor party? What in the world was a bachelor party? The brown eyed witch glanced towards her closet and then towards Nanny, who was resting on the witch's bed. “Well… it’s a party, right? That’s what the invitation said. I should probably dress nicely. Right?” She honestly had no clue how one should dress for one of these things. Of course Nelson had helped out the little witch, especially after he had his sister come to crocus and she bought Wren a bunch of new clothes that the witch had no clue how to properly wear. She quickly grabbed something she felt was comfortable, grabbed her broom, and looked to Nanny. “You stay here, watch the apartment for me~!” She giggles before she zipped out of the room and through the storefront of Nelson’s Apothecary. As soon as the little witch was free of the building, she sat herself on the broom and opened a map. She needed to find Hosenka, just a bit west of Crocus. Her broom could take her there in a jiffy. Of course as she flew, she wondered what all would be at this ‘bachelor’ party that she was going to.

It didn’t take her too terribly long to get towards Hosenka and find this ‘Lusty Titans’ guild… She landed quickly and adjusted her yellow oversized jacket over her white t-shirt that had red on the trim and tucked into a pair of high waisted bootcut pants that buttoned up on the sides. She even donned on a nice pair of white low-heeled loafers. To keep some of her hair back, she sported a blue headband. As she saw Mythal, she smiled and adjusted her glasses before snapping her fingers to send her broom up in the sky so no one could find it. “Director!” She called out as she waved her hand up to make sure he looked at her as she came jogging over towards the group. She saw the other people she hadn’t met, and smiled at them, though one of the faces she was at least familiar with. Should she officially… introduce herself? Her eyes went towards the building that they were at, and blinked at it as she was still confused about what in the world it was.

A Night of Whimsy and Trouble Empty Re: A Night of Whimsy and Trouble

Post by Sir Leonard 27th February 2022, 5:52 am

It was quite refreshing that Leo was invited to a bachelor's party these days. What's more, it from a person he had recently had the pleasure of meeting. Mythal Ragnos of the Rune Knights sent the old man an invitation to a party through means he did not know. Just that there was a letter waiting for him on the table, and Lina was unaware of how it came to be there as well. And once a man had reached a certain age where he is attending funerals, memorials more than anything else, the celebration of new life or love from new friends is a welcome change of pace.

Although, particularly elegant clothing wasn't in Leo's wardrobe, despite having spent a lot of time with a rather elegant Alicia though to be honest, they enjoyed less than elegant activities which involved weaponry of some sort. No, he only had the black suit and tie he had been given for another event he had attended previously and looked to be enough in his eyes. It was stylish and elegant after all. He had looked like a proper gentleman in it before, and he did again once he had it on. The sleek black coat and tie was once again paired with black slacks and underneath the coat he had the simple silk buttoned-up shirt he would always wear when visiting Lina at school.

The little girl wanted to come as always, but alas she could not. This was meant to be a gathering of the groom-to-be's closest male friends, a tradition she did not fully understand but gave in anyways once her father had promised she could have a party similar to it when she gets married someday.... In the very distant future...

A vehicle would take Leo to the train station which he would use to get to Hosenka quickly. The rather uneventful commute was ended by a sudden realization that he does not know what to do in these kinds of things. Sure, he had been to a wedding before, but not a bachelor party. Or rather, he believed that the ones he attended before would be different from the one he is going to attend now. "Perhaps it's best I should observe..." he thought to himself as he made the walk towards the entrance of Hosenka where other male figures in rather mesmerizing outfits were standing just at the foot of a stone staircase.

"That must be them..." he thought, gripping the two gifts he had with him securely in his hands. The left held a case holding 3 bottles of finely aged and fermented wines made from sugar cane, rice, and coconut while the left held a classic delicacy of his making. An original recipe cheesecake that the residents of Magnolia from back then had nicknamed the Leocake.

As he made his way to the same steps, a petite man? person? came down from the sky. He only assumed it was a man because from the looks of it, he was headed to the same establishment as Mythal and the rest of his other guests were. As such, he simply followed him in. From the door, the smaller man had already introduced himself with a loud greeting. Which certainly alert them to his presence as well seeing as despite standing from a respectable distance, he could still be seen as the man really can't cover anyone who's behind them.

Ruzatz was looking dapper but that was hardly a surprise; the man didn’t need an occasion to dress up nor really to dress down. Smiling from ear to ear, he waved the trio in first before his eyes set on the young woman and older, rugged gentlemen that came up after. “And here are two more of our guests! Evening; I’m Ruzatz, the guildmaster of the Lusty Titans and a very dear friend of Mythal’s. Thank you for coming!”

The Rune Knight Director turned to find both Wren and Leo standing behind him, each a stark contrast to the other. Wren looked rather semi-casual, with a yellow jacket on top of a white t-shirt and polka-dotted pants. The look was… well, it was on the more effeminate side, at least with the shoes, but Mythal was hardly the man to judge anyone for what they liked to wear. Leo had come dressed to the nines; looking far more professional than the rest of the lot. “Wren, Leo… you guys got invited too?” the Rune Knight asked, surprised but certainly not displeased to see the pair. He’d practically formed a tight bond with Leonard from their first mission, the two of them complementing one another in terms of strategy and power. Wren had been one of if not the only Rune Knight that Mythal had spent a majority of time with besides Serilda, having gotten to know the young Rune Knight rather well on the few jobs they took on with one another.

“Well I dunno if ya knew Mythal, but you ain’t much in the way of friends. I had to ask Serilda and other people who you had even talked about more than once. Wren and Sir Leonard were two of them,” Gren explained before he stepped forward and offered his hand to both of them in turn. “Nice to meet ‘ya. I’m Gren, Mythal’s adoptive father. I’m glad to see ya managed to make it. I’ve heard good things about ya both.” Gren had been conflicted over inviting a young lady such as Wren but choosing not to make any judgment calls and allowing Wren the opportunity to turn it down seemed the best option. After all, she was someone that Mythal got along with and could call a friend. The only other person was: “I tried to get a hold of… Aeron, I think it was, but I couldn’t get her contact information. And based on the little that Seri told me, she probably would have been reluctant to come anyways.”

“Yeah, she might have.” No doubt she would be just as mortified as Mythal was. He walked over to Wren and Leo, putting a hand on both of their shoulders. “Thanks for comin’. Nice to know Vandrad and I won’t be the only ones sufferin’. That’s Gren’s other son, Vandrad du Wolff, though I imagine you’ve met him by now, Leo. He’s part ‘a Fairy Tail as well.”

“Everyone, everyone -- we have all night to catch up and reminisce! Let’s get our last two guests out from the cold and head on in,” Ruzatz said, sweeping up behind the group and closing the door. “We don’t want to leave our previous arrivals feeling abandoned, do we?”

“Wait, other arrivals? Ya mean this isn’t it?” Mythal asked, surprised.

The guildmaster grinned. “Come now, Mythal; you don’t think I’d shoot for anything but a large party, would you?”

That was concerning. With the doors shut, it seemed that their fates had been sealed and there was no escaping now. The foyer had two sets of door and two hallways on either side, along with a rather rotund elevator door in the middle of the far wall. Though Mythal was prepared to be led down one of the hallways, Ruzatz brought them to the elevator and opened its doors, gesturing for them to enter. Now perplexed, all the Rune Knight Director could do was get on board the contraption with the rest of the party. “I promise this ain’t my usual kinda scene,” he told Leo and Wren.

The elevator brought them up two floors before sliding open. Revealed beyond was an intimate but spacious room that had comfortable looking seats, a long, stocked bar, a few tables and a center u-shaped bar, equipped with chairs, a glowing platform and an obvious stripper pole. Several people were already sitting down with drinks in hand; Branwen, Mythal’s ‘uncle’, Dakvid, another officer in the Rune Knights, the men from the Sinclair family, Bartrand, Vandrad’s cousin and Chishan and Dorian, former members of the now defuncts Order of Souls. A rousing cheer erupted from most of the group as they spotted Mythal, cheering the man of the hour.

“Oh please kill me,” Mythal muttered.

“Barely even started, son,” Gren teased him before giving him a gentle push inward.

The people involved would make their introductions to both Wren and Leonard before offering to let them head over to the bar and get a drink from the tender there. As they did, a man came out from behind a draped doorway, heading right towards the stripper pole in the middle. For a moment, Mythal was sure the man was going to start gyrating on the pole and putting on a show that clearly was coming. But as he stepped onto the stage, the pole ascended up into the ceiling and the man brought forth a suitcase. When opened on the bar, it showed a series of cards and chips generally connected to poker.

“The drinks are on the house, the food will be out shortly and our dealer is now setting up the cards for our game of poker!” Ruzatz announced jovially. “Let Mythal’s stag party commence!”

The little witch blinked as she saw another person coming up with presents and grimaced a bit, thinking that she should have brought a gift as well… It would be okay, right? Not having one? No one said anything yet at least! Ruzatz introduced himself, and Wren smiled at him, being polite at least. “Evening! I’m Wren! It’s nice to meet you all.” She was also introducing herself for the others who didn’t know her or her name. As Mythal asked if she was invited too, she tilted her head and reached into her pocket of her jacket for the invite, pulling it out and smiling at the Director. “Yup! Though, I’ve never been to a bachelor party before… or really have those back in Sailkia… so I don’t know how these go.” She scratched her cheek a bit before adjusting her glasses, brown eyes avoiding others to not look at any potential judgemental looks for confessing so easily there.

As she was approached to shake the man's hand, her attention went up to him and she smiled while she reached her hand up to his, shaking it briefly. Gren and Mythal briefly talked about another female? She would have liked another female here… but beggars can’t be choosers. Wren blinked out of her thoughts and looked up to Mythal when he put his hand on her and Leonard’s shoulders, smiling at him at first, till he mentioned them ‘suffering’? One could swear they might have seen physical question marks floating from her head with how confused she was right then. The confusion didn’t last long as she was officially introduced to Vandrad, and she waved briefly.

She let herself be led into the building and onto the elevator, unsure of what to expect from this place, especially when the elevator opened its doors to the new location. She smiled and introduced herself to those who introduced themselves to her. She was offered a drink and Wren instantly started to feel frazzled a bit. She ended up ordering a strawberry piña colada and sipped on it softly as she looked around the area. As it was announced that they were going to play poker, Wren glanced away. Could she get out of playing poker? She honestly didn’t know how to play… the most she could do was probably Go Fish. Mythal said that this wasn’t his usual scene, and it definitely wasn’t hers either.

The arrival of both himself and the other person as announced Ruzatz was a shock to Mythal and he  approached both he and the other person who looked like a man. Apparently their presence was unexpected, following the question he posed on them both. As he tried to recall, parties like these often involved the groom not knowing about it which he found weird. If you're throwing a party for the person, wouldn't people ask what would he like in it? However, that was besides the point, and he took it upon himself to make sure his friend would have a good time. "Surprise, my good friend." he said gently, chuckling at the end. Indeed Mythal was a good friend. A person he respected, especially after the brief but meaningful moment they shared. It was amazing how much one mission can reveal about a person and of course, the down time right after, making him both proud and honored to have been invited to such, seeing as from the comment he had overheard that he doesn't have lot of candidates for inviting to such a night that supposedly should happen only once in a man's lifetime.

Gren, Mythal's adoptive father introduced himself to them and Wren (as he has now learned the name of the person with the yellow coat). Unfortunately, Leo couldn't shake Gren's hand due to the gifts he carried however, he made sure to respond politely so as not to seem rude. "Thank you for having us, I'd shake your hand however there are full. Please, accept my gifts for the groom-to-be." he said, lifting both his hands to shine a brighter light to the items he carried.

With the pleasantries out of the way, Mythal took the two newcomers aside for his honest feelings. He looked at him with a gentle smile as he expressed himself. "Suffering seems to be the appropriate word. Not my kind of gathering either." he said softly, chuckling at the end of his sentence, seeing the humor on it all. Indeed the establishment already looked exuberant, what more the party itself? And Leo has been used to letting things go past him, as it was time for younger people to shape the world, he had been content to sitting in some corner somewhere. That was a party to him already.  "But we have your back, lad." he continued, assuring him that he'd still enjoy himself all the same. Further, Mythal also said that Vandrad was here. And though he doesn't know him on an personal level, seeing as they have yet to interact, Leo had an idea from observing everyone that came through their doors since he returned. "Yes, Vandrad's a good man. Very strong, and capable. He was instrumental when a dark guild Magnolia for the nth time. Though I have yet to interact with him directly." he replied.

Ruzatz then came to let them in the very fabulous building, commenting about the other guests that are still to be met and that it was time to start the festivities. As they were lead in, Leo moved the box of cake on top of the wines he had so he could give his friend a gentle pat in the back as they moved. He then quickly held the cake with his hand once more. The interior of the building looked majestic. A sense of royalty was hinted at every inch of it as Leo looked around. At the end of the hall, they went inside the elevator where they would be taken to the venue during which Mythal assured them once more that this wasn't his idea. He simply chuckled at it, as it was simply fine for Leo. At least this could be a moment he could share with his friends.

As the elevator's doors opened, to reveal a grand room fit for grand parties, Leo however, didn't care for much of it. Immediately he looked for a bar, and true enough he found one. And proceeded there as soon as it was appropriate. "Come find me by the bar if you need a break from all this." he whispered to Wren and Mythal, and in the short moment after, he would already be found with a drink on his hand as he watched Ruzatz announced the commencement of Mythal's stag party.

“Well you are in for a treat, Wren. Ruzatz has planned several different pastimes, though none of them are too scandalous, I think,” Gren spoke to Wren as she admitted that she had never been to a bachelor party or had even heard of them before. “Don’t be worried ‘bout nothin’. Ya don’t have to take part in anythin’ ya don’t want to.”

“Oh we have plenty of festivities. I want to make sure everyone has the chance to have a good time and enjoy themselves, especially the main man himself,” the Prime Sin explained, flashing a grin at Mythal.

As they boarded the elevator, Vandrad took a step forward Leo. "Leonard Dragonbane, correct? I recall your rousing speech during Elysium’s attack. You inspired quite a number of our fellow guildmates. I was impressed, though I was focused on other tasks at the time.” Vandrad had had his hands full with the dragon attacking Magnolia and then with Thana causing further damage to the dilapidated remains of Fairy Tail. But he could recall the words coming from Leonard in response to the apparent broadcast from one of Elysium’s members.

As they arrived at the private room, plenty of people that Mythal had met were already within the confines. They gave a raucous cheer when he and the rest of the group arrived and the Rune Knight Director was suddenly under a barrage of greetings and well wishes. As the platform was cleared and the dealer approached and began setting up, Ruzatz announced that the poker game would start soon. “Through that door is a bowling alley, if people wish to knock down some pins. Across the way is another room with something called ‘laser tag’. Apparently they use lacrimas within fake firearms to shoot nonlethal lasers that then light up a special magical vest? Crazy what people came up with. If there is anything anyone wants or needs, let me know and I’ll be sure to find a way to get it.”

“How ‘bout a way outta here?” Mythal mumbled as he freed himself from the arms of several people. Vandrad had moved over to the bar and gotten a drink next to Leonard while Wren had found himself a drink and was looking around, about as lost as he was. Several of the group sat down at the platform to play cards and a few moved through the other doors to explore the other options that Ruzatz had talked about. But surprisingly, Mythal wasn’t… being as hounded or ordered to move anywhere. Considering how he’d been given no choice in the matters of having a party, he’d half expected to pulled around and sat in places for the group’s amusement. “Though this ain’t so bad right now…”

“Well of course not,” Ruzatz spoke up, having overheard Mythal. He wrapped an arm around the Director’s shoulder as they both approached the bar where Wren and Leo had gathered. “This is a celebration about you. And all of us know that you aren’t exactly the.. Socialite like the rest of us might be. Hence why I provided several options for everyone. This is your night and you can spend it however you want without issue. If you just want to sit and drink and talk with people, that’s just fine too.”

Huh. That was surprising. “Well, thanks Ruzatz. That’s uh… awfully considerate of ya,” Mythal said as he picked up a drink from the bar. They’d made him a scotch; no surprise that Ruzatz knew exactly what he liked.

“It’s not a problem. The only thing you don’t have a choice in is the show.”

    Mythal blinked. “Show? What show?”

But Ruzatz was already gone, having moved on to the next group. The Director blinked a few more times, curious but unable to wrap his head around what that meant. Since nothing seemed to be happening just yet, he decided to let it go, assuming that Ruzatz would, undoubtedly, reveal his hand at some point. “Thanks for comin’, guys. Leo, you can put the gifts down on the bar, really. Relax; at least one of us has to try,” Mythal said with a chuckle.

He spent the next several minutes just talking with Vandrad, Leo and Wren, far more comfortable with the small group there then partaking in any of the events at the moment. Frankly, it seemed pretty chill and relaxed for the most part and Mythal was just starting to think that perhaps the party wasn’t the worst thing that could happen. With his back turned, he didn’t see that the dealer had closed up shop on the platform, with the players watching as the ceiling where the pole was stored started opening up again. The riff of an attention-grabbing guitar gave everyone pause as Ruzatz hopped up on the platform. “Ladies and gentlemen…” he started, confusing Mythal. What ladies was he talking about? “The food is about to be brought out and the festivities are going to continue. But I would like to bring all of your attention here to center stage for two of the sexiest women on the planet. They heard all about Mythal’s engagement and now they are here to celebrate with the rest of you. I humbly introduce my two wives; Monica and Agatha!” And with that, he gestured towards the ceiling, where another platform was beginning to descend…

“This is going to be amazing.”

Mercury quite literally could not contain her glee. It was fair to say that she enjoyed catching people by surprise, and she was about to have quite the surprise for just about everyone. Hell, not even Ruzatz knew she was there tonight. None of them were supposed to be. Vandrad had made it very clear that since it was a bachelor party that meant it was a “boy’s night”, which was just a challenge as far as she was concerned. The Silver Wolf Ace had done a bit of research into these bachelor and bachelorette parties ever since Vandrad’s mother had mentioned that Mercury and Vandrad should have them now that they were officially engaged, and given everything she had read about how they typically went down she was more than a little excited to participate.

But of course, she had not been invited. Not that that was going to stop her. Mythal and Serilda were quite close to the leaders of the Lusty Titans guild so it was not a surprise in the least to learn that Ruzatz had offered to host the event in Hosenka. And given that Mercury was best friends with one of the demon lord’s wives, that meant that she was even more aware of the planned festivities than everyone else that had been invited that night. In fact, not even Ruzatz knew that Mercury was planning on making an appearance.

Agatha giggled to herself. Ruzatz’ first wife hadn’t been involved with roping Mercury into the party, but as soon as Monica had told her the change in plans the red head hadn’t hesitated to hop on board. And so the three women had gathered, Monica having snuck Mercury inside shortly after Ruzatz was already distracted with his company for the night, leaving the three of them to get ready upstairs in one of the guild’s changing rooms. “You’re sure this isn’t going to stir any waves with Vandrad, right? I mean, they are brothers.”

Mercury flapped a hand dismissively as she finished her makeup. “Nah, he knows what I’m about. The only one he’s going to be disappointed with is himself when he realizes that he really should have expected this.” With a grin, she walked to the other side of the room to start getting into her outfit, making sure to slap Monica audibly on the ass as she passed by.

Before long it was time for the real fun to begin. The three women set themselves up on the descending stage as they heard Ruzatz below them providing his grand introduction for his two wives, Monica and Agatha. The three women shared a quick cheshire grin with one another as the music started and soon they were being lowered back down into the room upon the self same pole platform that had risen out of the way into the ceiling at the start of the party.

At the bottom of the pole was Monica, a taller woman with long brown hair that was shaved to the scalp on either side. She was covered head to toe in a myriad of tattoos, and was clad in what amounted to little more than a white bikini. As the pole continued to lower itself into the room it revealed Agatha just above her. The woman was on the shorter side, but had curves for days and was outrageously attractive – the kind of woman that walked into a room and caused nearly all other activity to stop upon notice of her arrival, though here in the confines of the guild that she ran with her husband pretty much everyone inside was accustomed to seeing her around. She was dressed up very much like a sexy librarian or teacher, with a black top that plunged low in front, a tight pair of jeans, and a pair of glasses that she didn’t really need.

And then, revealed above Agatha while the pole made the final portion of its trip down to the floor, was Mercury. “Did someone call for housekeeping?” The lavender haired Xocili was dressed in a full blown maid outfit complete with a feather duster in hand, and there was no mistaking how pleased she was with herself as the stage completed its transition and the three women slid down the pole to reach the ground. Mercury gave Ruzatz a wink and then blew Gren a sultry kiss before the three women got started dancing with one another in a rather provocative fashion, both with and without the use of the pole. However, the only stayed on the stage long enough to tease before all three of them stepped down and made their way over to Mythal, crowding around him and giving him some due diligence as the celebrated groom.

Though that didn’t stop Mercury from paying attention to some of the others in the room. Even as she participated in the dance around Mythal, Mercury’s emerald eyes wandered over to Wren and she flashed the other woman a flirty smile, giving Wren a once-over glance before pointing a well manicured finger at her.

    “You’re next, cutie pie.”

Black Hats, Black Cats, Double Bubbles, Toils, and Troubles.

As the little witch is informed by Gren that she didn’t have to worry about participating in some activities she didn’t want to, she tilted her head to the right a tick. “O-okay? Thank you for letting me know!” She honestly didn’t understand what that meant. Was there going to be some dangerous games going on here? Like spike ball? Or darts?! She hoped not…

Before being introduced to Vandrad, Leo was saying something about suffering being the word for the event as well as Mythal, but she simply smiled as she nodded after Leo also said they had Mythals back. Of course she did! He was her Director, but still a good guy to her. “If it’s too much, we can probably just find a way out of here and continue the party somewhere else however you want to do it?” She shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t know if that was possible for parties like this honestly. In the building, Wren nodded to Leo as he fled to the bar, wondering when she’d have to take a break from a party to escape somewhere away from it all? The offer was there regardless, so she wouldn’t reject it.

After poker was being advertised in the current room, other activities in the adjacent rooms were also being called out for others to disperse a bit. The redheaded witch honestly felt a little curious about the bowling alley part of the place and was contemplating on going there… but she didn’t want to go alone… she spotted Mythal near Leo, and made her way over to the bar, setting the pina colada on the bar so she could climb into the seat, swinging her legs a little bit as she grasped the drink in both of her hands again and sipped on it happily. Maybe she should have let Nanny come too. Ruzatz had come over and was talking to Mythal, and she observed around the area a bit, but her ears picked up that there was a show going on here, and she was curious now.

While it was just the group of four at the bar, Wren smiled sweetly to the group and occasionally piped up in the conversations. She was feeling rather mellow as she let herself sip most of the drink, already working on a second glass. She continued to enjoy the time at the bar till the guitar got hers, and pretty much everyone else’s, attention. At the mention of ‘Ladies', Wren started to perk up a little bit. There was more than just her here? She blinked as the poles began to lower down to the platforms.

Her brown eyes watched as three women descended from the pole and raised an eyebrow slightly at the music. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the tattoos of the first woman, honestly admiring them. Maybe she should get some? Some spells would be great as tattoos on her body. Though, the fact that she had more boobs on her than Wren did on her own body made her pout some as she started sucking down the rest of her pina colada rather angrily, wanting another near immediately after she set the empty glass on the bar counter. Of course the coldness of the drink made her shake her head briefly from the rush of cold from the drink. She hated having no chest. And it didn’t help that the second female was even boobier than the first. Her cheeks puffed up as she grabbed the third glass of pina colada.

Another person came down the pole and Wren pouted unhappily as they also had more of a chest than her. She was always a little jealous of other women. It made her realize how much of the gene pool she didn’t cast her straws in. She takes a deep breath and lets herself get some control of her emotions as she watches the three women dance before they start coming to the bar and dancing around Mythal. She blinked widely as she didn’t realize what was going on till they were there. Her face turned a little pink as she glanced away from them, hoping if she did so she wouldn’t be noticed at all. Feeling eyes on her, Wren dared to look at whomever was looking at her. Something about the look that she was given, made her feel nervous as she gave an equally nervous grin to the comment said to her.

“Next?” She kept a light blush on her cheeks as she blinked, then looked around to be sure that the lavender haired woman was actually talking to her. She then shook her head as she held up one of her hands. “I-I think I’m good.” She grabbed hold of her drink again and held it close to her as she sipped it once again. Gren said she didn’t have to participate in things if she didn’t want to. That should do it, right?

A Night of Whimsy and Trouble Empty Re: A Night of Whimsy and Trouble

Post by Sir Leonard 30th April 2022, 12:08 pm

"Nice to meet you, son." Leo said as he calmly greeted Vandrad when he approached the old man. "Pep-talk for the kids, you did most of the work." he added, with a chuckle at the end and waving his hand dismissably . Indeed those words would have meant little if the people weren't inspired by it, and he was simply completely at peace because it did what it had to do. He thinks little of himself these days, content with letting the world move as he watched. His time was done, he would keep telling himself, it was their time now. "Let's hope for a fun night, Vandrad." he said as he stepped out of the elevator.

At the bar where Leo hurriedly went to, he would find himself joined by Vandrad and Wren. He was happy to share the moment with someone and a few moments, after Mythal himself who was brought over by the host of the night explaining to them that Mythals' preference for social interaction was considered after all and nodded upon hearing this. It was his still his party and it would appear this little group they have is already a party to Leo. The host then explained that there would be a show that mandated his attendance and the old man was more than interested to see what it was but not so interested that it would make him leave the bar. He patted the groom-to-be's shoulder and set his gifts down by the edge of the bar before taking his glass and drinking from it. "We'll be enjoying the view from here, lad." he replied jokingly.

"So how did you fine gentlemen all know each other and the people of this fine guild? And what can you tell me about the woman you're marrying, Mythal?"he asked, a few minutes after Ruzatz had left them to set up the show no doubt. He had hoped to provide a few more minutes of quiet before the storm. He did so by pouring them a glass of the wine he had brought. He would offer a comment and compliments to the two more taller men while getting to know the relatively fabulous dressed Wren. "Anything you can tell me about yourself, young man?" he asked. And as he awaited the response, he had offered their group his cake as well. "You guys should try this cake. I bake on the side, and I'm really proud of this one." he said. Opening the box that contained a glistening gold and white creamy cheesecake, with a concentration of blueberries at its center. He had been chatty than he normally is. He believed it to be proper etiquette at a party such at this where he knew no one.

However, not long after introducing the cake, it would appear that it would be time to introduce the "show" as well, as he faced Mythal and the rest of the group as he sat by the edge of the bar, he saw the stage being cleared and the man with a guitar approaching. Now something interesting was about to happen, and he couldn't help but smirk. He slowly leaned at the bar and exclaimed, "Looks like the show's about to start." And soon after the guitar was strummed and everyone's attention was obtained.

Ruzatz had explained that there would be a show featuring his two beautiful wives. And indeed they were. Leo was particularly attracted to the shorter woman at the middle  of the pole and then by the one with a maid outfit at the top of the same pole that descended upon the stage. He slowly clapped for their magnificent entrance. He noticed that three were headed for the groom, as expected of a stag party, so he tried to make himself scarce as much as he could without moving too much. As such, he just decided to inch a bit towards Vandrad's back as if hiding behind him which would have been an appropriate assessment. He wished for no part in it as he was, at the very least, seeing a woman in a sense that they just see each other more often than he would his other friends.

He had seen that the one in the maid outfit was teasing Wren, and the young lad thought this was something he could refuse. It was fun seeing him blush a bit from the woman's comment and thought it somehow rude that he didn't want to. So he took it upon himself to quite literally nudge him 'in the right direction'. Slowly and discretely, he waved his hand just an inch above his thigh and a black mist surrounded it. The same black mist was found behind Wren albeit in a smaller, fainter quality. From that smaller mist there slowly emerged a dagger born of his pocket space of requip weapon. He twirled his finger slowly and made the pommel touch and push Wren's back towards the one in the maid outfit. "It's not nice to refuse a lady, Wren." he whispered to himself before chuckling and taking a sip of his wine afterwards.

    DARK

Overall, it was a… party. Both Mythal and Vandrad weren’t necessarily the kind to go out and take part in rambunctious festivities as it was, let alone a stag party. The Rune Knight Director was only really partial to Serilda and Vandrad only showed Mercury the least amount of attention as required. Neither one of them would ever take it upon themselves to go to a strip club or, frankly, plan an evening at the guild they were currently within, though Mythal was a bit more flexible in that case considering his past with Ruzatz and Agatha. But seeing friendly faces and the environment not being too raunchy or crazy actually things… easier.

Wren and Leo both offered Mythal the opportunity to escape if things go too much. He chuckled and shook his head. “In comparison to the rest of the world, this is hardly the end of it. And it would be rude to disappear, I guess.” At the end of the day, Mythal couldn’t help but feel happy; knowing he had friends and family that wanted to spend time and celebrate him and his upcoming marriage was a bright spot he didn’t have a whole lot of in his history. It was hard to complain and give too much grief when Ruzatz had put so much planning and effort into formulating the perfect event for him. “Thanks for comin’ though. It uh… means a lot,” he said to both Wren and Leo. In spite of it all, it was nice to be among the two people he could call friends that weren’t directly or indirectly related to him.

Leo took it upon himself to ask about everyone, wanting to know how people knew one another. “Well, Vandrad is my adoptive brother, Gren my adoptive father. He took me in after… a whole lotta bullshit. Ruzatz I met because of… well, more bullshit, but he and his wife, Agatha, have been extremely helpful and good friends. Branwen over there is a former Rune Knight commander and has basically been my uncle. Dakvid is a current Rune Knight officer, Chishan is a complicated matter but he’s a friend from when I was much younger and Dorian is a friend of his. I thought I saw-”

“Mythal!” A boisterous yell of came from behind him as Bartrand threw himself into the mix, wrapping an arm over Mythal and Vandrad’s shoulders. “Hey everyone; I’m Bartrand; you can call me Bart. What’s up, big man? You excited for the wedding and all?”

"Bartrand, what in the hell are you doing here?” Vandrad asked, pushing his cousin’s arm off of his shoulders.

“Didn’t Merc tell you? I’m taking a sabbatical from the island and slumming it in Fiore for a few months! After I got the invitation from Gren-the-man right here, I felt there was no time like the present. So here I am! You get to show your cousin around the kingdom you’ve been part of for the better part of two years now.” Bartrand was a rambunctious, energetic teenager, just barely into his twenties and full of life. He grinned as he gave his cousin a playful punch on the shoulder. “Plus I was hoping to see Monica again. She was a spitfire. She did this thing--”

"That’s enough of that. Mythal, I believe Leonard asked about Serilda. It would be improper not to answer him,” Vandrad cut off the younger man’s clear intention to ramble off a very inappropriate story.

“Oh! Right. Well I’m sure you’ve heard of her, she’s the Field Marshall of the Rune Knights. She’s… I dunno, what can I say? She’s the light in my life. I’d been in a dark place for a long time -- almost my entire life up until I met her. And she brought me back, made me a better person, a better man. I wouldn’t be here now without her.” A man of few words, this was perhaps one of the few times Mythal had really opened up about how he felt and how bad his lot in life had been. It was clear, from the tone of his words and the small, genuine smile on his face, that Serilda had truly impacted his fate in a positive manner, bringing hope to one that hadn’t had any.

“Dude,” Bartrand said, nodding affirmatively. He reached over and gave the Rune Knight Director’s shoulder a clap with his hand. “That was beautiful.” It was a genuine compliment from the younger man.

Vandrad remained relatively quiet for most of the conversation, satisfied to stand there with his arms crossed and just listen. But movement from nearby drew his attention, his eyes sliding to stare from the corners as the poker dealer cleaned up his space. Ruzatz, also, looked like he was preparing something; an impish grin on his face and a playful spark in his eye. He’d mentioned a show earlier so he could only imagine that meant that Agatha and Monica would be making an appearance in some way or fashion. That was… complicated, at least with Agatha. Being the only other woman that he felt any kind of overt attraction to and one that he felt an empathic bond to make things strange for the former prince. But he rationalized it in his head that, with the party being for Mythal, he was probably, mostly, safe from any direct interaction.

And yet something felt off. He couldn’t explain it but his senses were warning him, alerting him, trying to signal some kind of awareness that wasn’t quite solidified. It didn’t feel like danger, per se; it wasn’t an alarm for an imminent attack. But more along the lines of something or rather someone that wasn’t meant to be there. Yet his magical senses didn’t detect anything wrong… but perhaps that was the wrong sensory ward to be utilizing? As Ruzatz took the stage and began the introduction for the next part of the evening, he felt a twisting in his stomach. And for the briefest of moments, a fluttering of familiar, wicked intent. No…

"She’s here,” he said aloud in realization, his eyes widening. How could she have known? How did she find out? He’d told her what was happening but not where. As the platform began to descend, it only took a cursory glance to see the three pairs of legs poking out from the hole in the ceiling. All the damned confirmation he needed.

Down came Agatha, Monica… and Mercury. All three were dressed in different outfits; scantily clad garments meant to invoke excitement from the viewing parties, no doubt. Ruzatz took one quick look up and noticed Mercury along with his wives and the shiteating grin on his face only grew wider. “And another time-honored guest of the Lusty Titans, Mercury Arseneault!” he finalized the introduction by involving the party crasher.

Mythal’s eyes went wide and quickly snapped over to Vandrad and Gren. His adoptive brother looked annoyed to hell but his father was overwhelmed with joy and amusement. “Did- Was this supposed to happen?”

“Well I figured Ruzatz would bring out Agatha and Monica at some point but I wasn’t expectin’ Mercury!” Gren said with a laugh.

"Damnable woman. How did she get here? How does she always know?” Vandrad cursed, scowling.

“Who the hell cares? Look at them go!” Bartrand said, pointing at the trio as they began to dance. It drew the attention of most everyone in the room, the three women dancing with one another, utilizing the pole and without. But it didn’t take them long to move onto the honored guest; Mythal. As the Director tried to, slightly, protest, he was unable to escape as Gren put a hand on his back, securing him in his spot and letting the ladies give him the show they intended to put on.

Mercury, as per usual, kept her attention on everyone while still managing to put all her focus on her actions. She laid her gaze on Wren and informed the young Rune Knight that he was next. He attempted to dismiss the invitation but it seemed Leo was feeling saucy, summoning the pommel of a knife and gently urging the young Knight towards Mercury. Gren spotted this and laughed, flashing a grin at Leo. “Don’t worry, Wren. I promise you she doesn’t bite unless you ask her to.”

"You just couldn’t leave well enough alone, could you?” Vandrad asked Mercury. "You just had to crash yet another party?”

“Hey, when you’ve got a speciality, use it!” Bartrand exclaimed excitedly. As Vandrad turned to chastise the younger man, he found his cousin bent over and dancing evocatively in front of Monica, seemingly throwing his rear end back in a manner that usually the woman would do in a dance.

The second wife of Ruzatz grinned as she smacked his ass. "That’s right, hot stuff, throw that ass back for me.”

Vandrad sighed. Was there anyone in a deeper circle of hell than he was right now?

Cunning is the art of concealing our own defects
    and discovering other peoples' weaknesses.
Mercury could practically taste the sour look on Vandrad’s face, and all it did was incite her rebelliousness further. Her fiance scowled where he sat by his father, even as Gren and Ruzatz both beamed with delight over her unexpected entrance with the other two ladies. Even Bartrand was there, looking about as excited as a young man in his early twenties should be for a strip show. Mythal looked like he was in a mixture of confusion and shock. It was obvious by the smirk on Mercury’s face that she was, in fact, quite proud of herself and her little entrance, as she always was.

The trio went down to start dancing around the groom to be, causing the poor director to be even more stunned at the unexpected and wild turn of events. Even as Bartrand threw himself on the opposite side of Monica to join in the fun, Agatha took front and center in front of (and on top of)  Mythal, smiling down at him with a look that was somehow both virtuous and naughty. “Don’t worry, hun. We ran this by Serilda, and she said to have fun. She also said something about.. Payback for the woman that kissed her on a cargo ship of slaves you guys liberated a number of years ago?” Agatha clearly didn’t have the full story on that as she relayed the words with confused amusement, but surely Mythal would recall what Serilda was referencing: The third job the two of them had ever done with one another, where he had stood by and watched with shameless amusement as a woman had put Serilda on the spot and thanked her by laying a large kiss on the noblewoman’s lips.

Meanwhile, Mercury was having the time of her life, to the surprise of none that knew her. She gave Wren a good eyeing, promising the young woman that she was next on the dancing block. It drew quite the pink blush out of the other woman, and Mercury didn’t need her internal radars to know that Wren was more than a little nervous about the proposition. Thankfully, it seemed the Silver Wolf ace would have an unexpected wingman in the form of a tall, handsome man with long white hair and about as much muscle as Vandrad and Gren. He whipped out a small knife and used the pommel of it to nudge the small woman over toward Mercury, much to both Mercury and Gren’s amusement.

Mythal’s adoptive father spoke up with a laugh, promising that Mercury only bit when asked, causing her to grin. “He would know. He asks quite frequently.” She shot a wink at Gren before pulling away from Mythal to take Wren by the hand, emerald eyes looking down at the other woman with a flirty and suggestive glance as she tried to coax the woman into dancing to the beat of the music, pulling her closer and swaying her hips near Wren’s without coming into contact with her just yet. Mercury was hoping to get the nervous woman to relax and open up a bit, but she didn’t want her to feel cornered or forced into anything either.

And that was when Vandrad spoke up, chasting Mercury about her appearance at the stag party and huffing about her crashing yet another party. Mercury rolled her eyes and grinned at Wren. “You hear that grumbling? He’s such a killjoy. You’d think a man would be a little more happy to see his own fiance.” Only then did she flick her impish gaze over to Vandrad, giving her own future husband a teasing look. “Did you really think I didn’t know where this party was going to be? Monica is my best friend and Ruzatz is hosting the party. I knew where it was going to be before Big Daddy over there even sent out the invitations. Besides, it’s only crashing if I didn’t get an invitation, which I got. …It was from Monica and Agatha, but it still counts.”

“Either way, you know that the harder you try to keep me away from something, the more likely I am to go poking my nose around. And don’t think you’re off the hook either, mister. You told me the reason I wasn’t allowed to come was because it was a ‘men only’ affair. If that’s true…” She spun Wren around until the small redheaded woman was facing the other men in the room, her back up against Mercury’s front as the Silver Wolf ace practically put the Rune Knight on display. “Then how did this lovely lady get an invite, hm?”
