“THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A COINCIDENCE- YOUR THOUGHTS CREATE YOUR REALITY. BUT YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT. YET, YOU STILL LIVE A LIFE THAT YOU DREAD. THAT IS BECAUSE, WHEN YOU VISUALIZE YOUR DREAM LIFE, YOU UNCONSCIOUSLY BELIEVE THAT IT IS UNREALISTIC- BUT IT IS NOT,”

♢ Echoing through the mind of the raven-haired potion crafter as she would slowly make her way up the mountain-trail within a thick snowstorm, a deep voice would lecture her telepathically about the way to live a life of prosperity- it would speak of coincidence and manifestation, something Angel felt like she would hear her companion speak of more and more with each passing day. In her hands would sit a large humanoid skull draped in a flowing silk cloth. The body of the entity that would speak to the girl within the stillness of her mind, his voice and true form would remain tucked away for the world to never be able to see. It was better that way, not just for the little alchemist but for anyone that was to run into her upon her adventures. Allowing the fragile thoughts of just what the dark voice would ramble on about, she would begin to look down at her black stockings and platform boots as they would sink through the snow that lined the edge of the mountain, the sound of wooden wheels treading through the white-colored mush drowning out any deep breaths she would take in the cold. Behind the gothic girl would roll a large traveling cart covered in plant life on all sides, which would be detailed with stained glass windows of purple and olive colors- inside one would be able to sneak a glimpse of a loft bed over a bunch of different pots of plants and potion brewing stands, staying surprisingly in place for the terrain they would tread across. Her fingers would rub against the cloaked forehead of the skull as she would keep her eyes on the path, looking out for her surroundings.

“That’s.. easy for you to say, being how many lives you- you’ve said you’ve lived before,” the girl of violet eyes would softly speak as she would pull her fluffy black cardigan up around her shoulders, walking beside the traveling cart that would appear to be pulled by nothingness, “if I’m being honest, I.. I’m surprised I never thought of, well.. looking for a guild to join before- I guess I just let m- my lack of magic make it seem like it wasn’t for me..”

“YOUR MAGIC IS IN YOUR MIND, MY DEAR- IT’S IN THE POTIONS YOU’VE ALWAYS HAD A KNACK FOR, AND YOUR DESIRE TO HAVE POTENTIAL. AND, YOU’RE NEVER ALONE WHEN YOU HAVE ME~,” the deep voice would speak deeply yet endearingly, a faint purple glow from the bottom of the covering peeking out before fading once more. It was the voice that led the potionmaker to make the trek up these mountain ranges- she had never been in a mage guild before, not even before that terrible incident that happened so long ago. Hopefully today that would change; she would seem to be seeking out the domain of Silver Wolf, those that were deemed as treasure hunters and gatherers of magical artifacts. Though she did not have prior experience in these fields, curiosity caused the feeling of black moths to flutter around her chilly stomach. Perhaps she would be able to provide assistance to their causes some other way or another- she was desperate to jazz up her life from wandering around in an attempt to sell the potions and other remedies that she would create. Angel wanted to feel even more of a change than the change her life took months before her journey into the mountains, but this time, she wanted the change to be something good. Something that would free her from the grasp that was the dread of becoming stagnant, even as a wanderer.

Pulling her black beret up to the top of her head, the strands of her black hair that would flutter throughout the mountainous winds would appear to stay a bit stiller than usual, the green highlights on the tips the only vibrance within her black attire. Her eyes would be unable to find a building in the endless expanse of snow and frosted trees- hopefully she was close to her destination, her legs were so tired.. and she was so cold. It was so cold.

"FOR MAD SCIENCE!! THIS IS EXHILARATING. SO, GET EXCITED, YOU GUYS."

It had been some time since Faustein’s latest adventure which was essentially a summons that called him out to a certain village called Kolleran located somewhere outside Clover Town, the reason being to assist the garrison of Rune Knights there who had been charged with the investigation of the tragedy that had occurred there recently, namely the massive damage done to the village by unknown attackers and all the consequences therein. So, Faustein had answered the summons and once there, he had proceeded to work with the volunteers to resolve the matter, thankfully to some successful degree. Since then, Faustein had returned to his home base in Magnolia Town, aka his mansion that also held his main mad science research lab and doubled as his main residence and got back to the grind of his daily routine thenceforth. Thus, time had marched on for him since then once again, but little did he know that he was about to have another rather intriguing encounter soon enough, this encounter beginning most unremarkably with a standard summons notification from his newly joined guild, Silver Wolf, being pushed to his iLac and arousing him in the usual manner.

    Urgh…what…now? Must they…really…call me in…to work…so early? Five…more min…utes…

He murmured under his breath as he was aroused by none other than the distinctive ringtone that he had programmed to be played by his iLac whenever some important wizarding work called him to somewhere, especially if it was guild related business. That ringtone was, of course, none other than that of the “Voices of War” special DLC he had acquired way back for being a dedicated player of the famous iLac app mobile game called “Oda Nobuna’s Ambition”. However, work was work, so despite the vehement protests he was getting from his body, Faustein dragged himself off the state-of-the-art smart table which he had crashed and fallen asleep at after having pulled several weeks of serial all-nighters for his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research…again…as per usual. Then, he shuffled about his lab which was perfectly isolated deep within the basement of his mansion, hidden behind several layers of insanely complex magical barriers to prevent detection of the structure from the outside, and finally managed to get himself into work-ready form, aka dressed in his physician-scientist’s outfit and with all his various pieces of gear affixed to his body and/or outfit from head to toe.

Alright, now that I am all set…coff…no, caffeine…yes, that is what I need right now…to complete my psychosomatic bootup process…

Musing thus silently, he injected a hyper-concentrated shot of caffeine from his personal storage into his body and while it would certainly have killed a normal person on the spot, it did not do so to him because…well, he was a true cyborg…with a lich overlord’s heart installed inside him among other things…which made him effectively completely invulnerable to most mundane death sources. Anyway, that served to send a powerful charge through his entire body which served its intended purpose, aka to bootup his body and mind completely and thus, he was ready to face the day and whatever challenges he may face in it. After all that, he activated his S.P.A.T.E which was his personal train and rode it all the way to Terra Ignis and the local area there which was the location of the Silver Wolf guild hall.

While he was passing through that area, however, he spotted a lone girl in the distance who seemed to be struggling with the cold climate there and who also had a lot of luggage to haul with her to wherever she was going at present. So, he called out to her after activating the custom-built voice amplifier module installed in his larynx

You look like you could use some assistance, miss. Would you care for a lift, perhaps?

Thus, his voice was revealed to be a rich, baritone, and melodious voice which rang out through the area, being audible over the howling of the winds which were whipping through said area and chilling everything there to the bone. Then, he made sure to keep his SHG-IV aka his smart holographic glasses on his face to obscure his striking crimson red eyes from view, at least for the time being and fell silent, waiting to behold the girl’s response and reaction to his invitation.

Tightly holding onto the bundle of cloth that covered up the skull that rested in between her arms, Angel would almost fall over as she would continue to slowly walk up the snow-covered path, her black cardigan fluttering in the winds. The traveling cart that treaded through down the trail behind her would seem to move more steadily than its owner- it was difficult for her to walk in the snow while wearing platform boots, and the barrage of snow felt so frigid. However, to the gothic girl's avail, the loud sound of a vehicle of sorts would begin to make its way closer and closer from a distance.. it was as if they were headed in the same direction as the potion-crafter, slowing down upon potentially noticing the large amounts of belongings that would follow her on her adventures up the mountain. Gasping as she would begin to feel the anxieties of socialization, she would allow the traveling cart to stop rolling behind her as she would stop in her tracks, holding onto the front of the cart where one would be able to pull it. Raising her arms up to the side of the wandering potion cart, Angel would slip the concealed item bundled in silk into one of the crevices that lined the side, seemingly whispering something to the item as it would remain secure and hidden from vision. A figure would seem to emerge from the edge of the vehicle accompanied by a rich voice, which would echo through the snowstorm and appear to make the girl slightly shiver.. or maybe it was just the cold. It was freezing! But they would seem to invite the eccentric in appearance girl onto the train, as if they had seen just how hard it was for her to trudge through the snow- they probably did.

"U- um, I mean, i... it's been hard, I don't usually come this far into the mountains, yeah," she would call out to the man that would stand a bit farther away from her on the horizon, his gaze concealed by a pair of rather shiny glasses. Almost succumbing to the harsh winds that would bridge the gap between the two, the girl would waver side to side and almost fall over; she would seem to gasp as she would grab onto the side of the cart once again, attempting to pull it closer to the steampunk train that was now nearby. "I'm so- so cold, and it looks soo warm in there, ah!" If you d- don't mind, I.. think I will accept," she would nervously call out to the man as she would successfully cause the wheels of the traveling cart to pull through the snow and winds that flowed in-between the pair, "umm.. I do... have a lot of stuff I'm bringing with me, it- it's.. all my stuff." Looking up at the stranger with a still look, if he were to notice her face within the thick snowfall she would appear to don extremely dark eyebags upon her immensely pale face, which would only appear darker complimenting her black attire. She would seem to shiver greatly while standing in-place close to the train, standing near the cart that carried all of her belongings- she would begin to think about just how she would be able to pull all of it up herself without the help of the voice, which had stayed silent within the cracks of the traveling home coated in plants and stained glass. It would most likely be best for her to wait for him to help her get it up on the train, as it was his train, after all.

    "I.. WILL BE WATCHING HIM,"

The deep voice that haunted the girl's dark clouds that cloaked her mind would call out to her telepathically, his voice unable to be heard by anyone other than Angel- her face would remain still as she would look at Faustein, pretending as if she did not hear a single word that the voice of the skeleton had said to her. "I'm.. looking for the guildhall of.. Si- Silver Wolf, is- is that on the way to where you're going..?" she would try to ask, attempting to make her voice a bit louder than the train and the snowstorm, "oh, and.. t- thank you, for your generosity, s- sir..! I don't really.. have any cool gadgets or s- stable enough magic to help me get through harsh climates, so.. I appreciate it, tha- thank you." Pulling down the puffy sleeves of her cardigan as she would clasp her hands together to thankfully bow toward the man, she would continue to shake from the cold as she would await his instructions to load her belongings and herself into the steampunk train, her eyes appearing to struggle to maintain a comfortable contact between his gaze and hers- her heart was racing rapidly due to how nervous she was feeling. Not only was she meeting a stranger for the first time, but he was offering to help her during one of her many struggle moments.. it was slightly embarrassing, but the thought of warming up in his train felt so comforting to her soul, making a pale blush appear under the shadowy splotches under her violet optics.

Craving a smoke, the girl would awkwardly look around the edges of the train as she would twiddle her thumbs, her long black hair flowing gracefully through the hailing snow- though she had yet to introduce herself, it would potentially not be difficult to deduce her interests and personality by the face she presented to others, being the shy plant grandma that she was. The plants that grew and remained secured on the sides of her traveling cart looked to be well kept, and within the stained glass windows one would be able to witness a variety of potion and plant-related equipment- if he were to look inside the colored windows Faustein would most likely be able to see that and know that she most likely would not possess many skills other than creating potions and having a super-green thumb. It was her passion, something death could not even take from her- if all went well she would be able to share these gifts with the guild she would be seeking out on this day, even if being social would be hard! Angel needed a change just like that, and hopefully bearing the mark of the wolves would suffice in all the right ways.

"FOR MAD SCIENCE!! THIS IS EXHILARATING. SO, GET EXCITED, YOU GUYS."

Faustein called out to the girl in reply while examining her with the zoom function of his SHG-IV

I see, then I shall assist you in loading your belongings into my train and help you board it as well.

With that, he jumped down from his steampunk magic train and then headed over to the girl and upon arrival, he called forth his hyper-dimensional storage and from inside, he brought out a temperature resistance enchanted, thick woolen shawl, wrapping it around the girl’s shoulders.

Here, this should help tide you over until we reach my train. Now then, let us be off, shall we? We can talk more once you are warmed up inside it.

With that, he fell silent and then gently lifted the girl’s cart with all her belongings in it onto his shoulder and stabilized it with one arm, making sure to not drop any of it by holding it horizontally with his arm underneath, and thanks to his body being that of a true cyborg instead of a mere human, he was able to do so effortlessly due to the superhuman strength it afforded him. He also ensured to elongate and enlarge the arm he was using to carry her cart with the use of his magic so that he could hold her cart and her belongings properly and not have his movement be encumbered by it.

Then, he started marching through the snow towards his train after gesturing for the girl to follow him. It did not take long for them to reach it and once they did, he used his magic again to elongate and enlarge his lower limbs, causing his height to increase dramatically right before the girl’s eyes. Once the height increase was complete, his torso was above the level of the boarding platform of his train, so he carefully extended his arm that was holding the cart steady atop it into the train’s interior with his magic once more and set it down inside. Then, he withdrew his elongated arm back to its default human-size length, and afterwards turned to the girl and remarked

Now it is your turn to board the train. Would you like me to assist you with that? Or can you climb aboard on your own, miss? I have no qualms about assisting you so do not hesitate to ask for my assistance in this regard either.

He asked and then fell silent, wondering what the girl’s reactions would be to seeing the brief display of his magic that he had engaged in just then.
