In Progress Alone with Him [Prada/Dela]

Post by Louie 14th September 2020, 5:22 pm

Fiore always held platforms for trouble if you were looking hard enough. Illegal sex rings, fight clubs, illegal guilds, criminals in hiding—they all existed, and many of them did so in plain sight. If you wanted it enough, if you thrived in the desire to be part of it, you'd eventually find it.

It was a dark, misty night in Oak Town. The world on top was peaceful and quiet, everyone retiring to their homes with an eased conscious. However, this was only an illusion. For towns, Oak and others, the night was the prime time for mischief, and for Oak Town especially, trouble was rising in the criminal underworld.

    . . .  . . .  . . .

"Ladieeess and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Silk Road, the only underground auction to buy your true desires! We have the best of the best! We have items you couldn't even find on the Motor City black market! One of kind wonders! Artifacts of unspeakable power! All can be yours for the rrrright price!~" an invisible, charismatic man announced over the loudspeakers with the same energy of some "MC" in a boxing ring. There was a large stage and a podium towards the edge, numerous spotlights shining down on it from above and display cases full of many oddities littered the scene. In the background was an auditorium of people wearing masquerade masks, all decadently fashioned in tuxedos and dresses. They were all primarily middle-aged and older men, their mistresses, and older women who had some money to their name—but they were all indulging in the same criminal activity together.

Among them was a man who, unlike the rest of the crowd, wasn't wearing any sort of mask at all. He fashioned himself dapperly in white like the rest of them, if not more, but made no efforts in veiling himself behind something like a mask. His ruby lion-eyes, bold and ravenous like so, were in full view, his silver-blonde hair draped over one side of his face and neatly slid back on the other. He didn't applaud when he was supposed to after every announcement, and he didn't bid on anything that clearly caught his interest. He sat somewhere in the middle of the seated crowd, legs folded over each other, elbow planted into the armrest as he leaned on his hand with a casual interest in what he was seeing. He smiled when he liked something and didn't emote at all when nothing of interest came up. Finally, something of special came up. Something that widened his eyes fractionally...

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I have here a rare and exotic Great Dragon Egg! Found deep into the Unknown Lands, you won't find something like this ever again! It's one of a kind! All Great Dragons are nearly extinct now, folks! This egg, if given the time and temperature, will hatch and be yours to keep! It's amazing! It's fresh! It's—"

    "—Mine, merci."

It was the man from before, sitting in the crowd like he was window-shopping, stepping onto the stage with a confidence that made him seem like he was hosting the auction himself. There was a look of shock and disbelief among the crowd and the announcer who was now at the podium. It was none other than Prada

"W-Well now! If it isn't Prada of the underground, infamous for "attending" auctions like these! You want it that bad, huh? What's your bid?" the announcer grinned, pinching and twisting the ends of his thin, curly mustache. Prada walked up to the egg as large, burly security guards inched their way over to him from the steps and back of the stage. He looked at it with a sort of conviction in his eyes, like he were about to take it home right that second.

    "Nothing."

    "Pardon?"

"You heard me—nothing. I mean..." Prada looked at him and stroked his chin with a certain arrogance, his hand gingerly caressing the egg, "...why should I bid on something that's mine now?"

"Well, Prada, that isn't how it works here. I don't know what other auctions you've attended in the past, but here on the Silk Road, if you ain't got the jewel, you ain't getting the prize," the announcer scoffed apprehensively,
    "Security!"

In the instant the announcer summoned them all in unison, large, shaded men marched onto the stage with their big, callused hands, ready to grab Prada as he reached for the egg. Three of them closed in, all surrounding the silver-blonde, but then something started to happen. The second their feet were too close for his comfort, they all turned to... gold. Like golden statues, they froze in place as the very essence of their material bodies congealed into a magnificent, metallic substance. After that, everyone stopped, staring at the stage in horror.

"Believe me, I have the jewel. In fact, I'm sure the toilet I piss in is worth more than you twelvefold," Prada began to circle around the egg, avoiding the golden statues as he did, "Well, actually, I'm not sure—I know. And besides, you really should feel grateful that I'm here to begin with. The fact that I'm even considering accepting these items are, alone, the best thing that will ever happen to you—"

    "Call the Rune K—!!"

"—Don't interrupt me, môle. Do you know who you're talking to? Didn't your parents ever teach you to not speak unless spoken to, especially when someone like me is addressing you? Idiote."

"?!" the announcer looked pale, looking down at his arm as it froze in place, golden and hard, "M-My-M... my... arm...! What... what did you do to my—"

"Now then, I don't particularly like dragons, but I know someone who does... hm..."

The crowd filling the auditorium fled from the scene in swarms, screaming and pushing as they left in terror. Even the security guards fortunate enough to avoid Prada's goldmake attempted to escape, dragging the announcer away with them. Prada seemed completely unconcerned by this, alone with his new prize. Or, so he thought.

In Progress Re: Alone with Him [Prada/Dela]

Post by Dela 10th October 2020, 5:17 am

Despite her reputation around HQ, one of the Rune Knight's laziest members was doing exactly what was expected of her, which she did more than people realized. Being in the Spec Ops branch lent itself nicely to her secretive ways, and while she admittedly used the resources more for her own devices than she did in the interest of her employers, she did still go out of her way to do her job when she had enough information to do so. In this case, in her normal wandering and information gathering, she'd come across several leads here and there about a certain brazen dark mage. His name was Prada. He was a menace. He didn't really try to conceal his dealings, yet the Rune Knights could never get near him. Though Dela rarely volunteered her extensive knowledge on most goings on in Fiore to the RK unless she was pressed, this particular whisper was too crisp and clear to leave alone.

It took time, though. Once Dela put her mind to something and committed, she was a force to be reckoned with. Her specialty was to infiltrate places no lawman should be within one thousand meters of, other than to raid it. It was like watching a chameleon at play, the way she could transform herself into whatever role she needed to play to get into the place she needed to be. One would think such a thing would be easier for someone of plain looks and with not her striking blonde hair and tropical oceanic blues, but it was almost as if her blonde hair was a veil. There were a ton of blondes all over the world, and the pale hair had the tendency to attract the eye and imagination, but not be so notable that her face would be committed to memory. She was just another cute blonde, one of many. In fact, she was one of a matching set to further diminish her uniqueness, not than anyone had seen Elle. With the right outfit, right persona, right accent, right researched backstory, Dela could become anyone and darn near get in anywhere. Why, she got into the Rune Knights immediately after quitting a dark guild with no problem at all, did she not?

If her information about Prada was correct, and it was, then she could predict his next location. Not many law enforcement officers had even heard of the Silk Road, let alone knew where it was. For this operation, Dela had to do the long con. A month and a half before the auction, she settled her sights on an older mob boss who had recently lost his arm candy girlfriend to his upstart son. Capitalizing on his dented ego, once more her flaxen hair caught the eye of a prideful, rich scumbag who didn't want to be that pathetic old man who wasn't getting any even though he could certainly afford it. It was pathetically easy to fill the bimbo void in his life and just be shown off to other wrinkly old friends, other than for his...more pointed expectations. Lucky for her, most men tune out in health class and literally cannot fathom how the female reproductive system works without intense terror and avoidance, so being on her monthly for a month straight raised no flags other than the one of horny frustration and surprisingly patient hope that her promises of "later" would be worth it. Her promises were about to run out in more ways than one.

She'd been seated in the masked crowd, bosoms pressed up against the chunky arm of her temporary sugar daddy as she laughed at every unfunny joke and begged for overpriced snacks. He'd dressed her up in a slinky black number to offset his gleaming white suit. True to his perverted ways and general obsession with her body, what little it did cover was so tight it might as well been her painted skin. From the way he had her dripping in gold and diamonds, she wondered if she was the intended payment for items that caught his eye, but no, he just liked his women as superficial and flashy as possible.

Her eyes scanned for her target, and sure enough, he stood out like a bedazzled sore thumb. No mask. Brazen as an unbroken stud. She smirked in satisfaction, but the hard part of the job had only just begun. It was one thing to spot him, but entirely another to initiate a takedown. Dela wasn't a combat mage of any substance. Sneaking, bargaining, deep undercover work, information brokering, all those she could do. But when the stuff hit the fan, it was time for her to get outta dodge. She had a team of Rune Knights expertly hidden outside. Normally she'd be wired for communication, but the Silk Road cut no corners. Somehow, someway, she needed to get close enough to plant a tracker on him which would light up as soon as he stepped foot out of here. Then her job was done. If it was fumbled from there, it was hardly her fault.

The auction progressed and then suddenly got spicy. The goldmake wasn't a surprise, but apparently it was to the security. She watched as people died right before their eyes, but she hardly batted one single glued, gaudy eyelash. In the chaos and screams of escaping criminals, no one would hear her, but Dela snickered as the MC tried to call for the Rune Knights. It always amused her how criminals would call for the law to the scene of their own crimes when they felt threatened. The very people they defied, hated, and killed were suddenly the only people they could trust to save their sorry hides, even at the expense of some potential jail time. It was also ironic that there was already a Rune Knight here, hanging back and watching, waiting for her moment to get close.

Her date wanted to run too, of course, but there was a reason she picked him. His sex drive overrode any sense of self-preservation he had. All she had to do was turn to him, smoosh her cleavage up a little extra, and pour on some waterworks and charm. "But, Daadddyyyyy!" she wailed in a high pitched whine, tugging on his arm to get him to stay back. "I really, really wanted that egg! You aren't gonna let this little s*** take it from the big, bad Hercule Bladdstone, are you? If I don't have it, I just don't think I'll be in the mood tonight, Daddy! I'll be soooo disappointed, my little heart can have nothing else!  Please!" she begged, fluffing his ego and speaking to his smaller, dumber head. He was tempted but hesitating. Now for the kicker. "Jimmeson wouldn't back down..."

Oooh noo, his son wasn't stealing another one of his toys! Not one that was finally about to put out if he could just get her this dragon egg! Besides, heck yeah he was Hercule Bladdstone, the richest mob boss in Shirotsume! Taking her hand, he puffed out his chest and stalked his way up toward the stage. "Just who do you really think you are?" he asked, taking the thick cigar from his lips for just such an occasion. These were serious talks, after all, and he was falsely secure in his own bodyguards who faithfully came up behind him, despite the golden statue reminders. "I'm buying my woman that item. You can't just waltz in here and take whatever you please for free! Even among us crimelords, there's order and decency to uphold," he chastised Prada.

Knowing this would go horribly, Dela slipped her hand from his and clacked her way out of the immediate danger zone. She observed Prada, wondering if he could read her face. The expression she had there was one that any mob bimbo would have. Disloyalty. The look of approval a woman like the one she was playing could give a vastly superior option. Prada had more jewel, more power, and unquestioningly better looks. If he said the word, she'd jump at the opportunity to be on his arm and in his bed. The ditziness of her character would be oblivious to the danger (no one would kill a pretty, easy woman, riiiight) and mask her clearly absent fear of death. Dela stepped toward the egg and wrapped her affectionate hands around it, planting a clear, discreet tracker on it as she did so. Not waiting for him to gild her, she picked it up and came to stand at his side. "Who cares about rules? Let's go," she said to Prada with a smile, betraying her old man for the new one. Shooting her shot. If she could just get Prada to bite or at least revel in Hercule's wounded hissy fit, she'd get a tracker on him and could get out of here before she was killed...again. It was always a risky gamble, but with her situation, there were very few situations where the worst case scenario for everyone else wasn't just another way out for her.

I don't chase ; I attract. What belongs to me will come to me.

Even when so clearly outmatched, some poor fools still sought to contend with perfection like Prada. It was quite silly, really. What good was pride if you had no substance to be proud about? Why boast about your riches when there is someone richer than you? Why build an ego off of achievements when there is someone who has done those things and then some? In other words, why challenge someone like Prada?

It seemed that the pitiful little announcer wasn't the only one who had complaints about how the Silk Road was unfolding tonight, as a rather chunky man—a self-proclaimed crime lord—stepped up onto the stage, lecturing him about this and that. With him was this terribly dressed blonde bimbo who looked more like an accessory than a human being. If there's anything Prada hated as much as dissidence, it was a terrible fashion sense. There were also a few of his large bodyguards that came up with him, but it's not like it really mattered. Just more statues for the stage, he supposed, but Prada was sure that they knew that when they stepped foot on this stage.

"I know exactly who I am, but the unfortunate part is that it seems like you don't," Prada brushed his hair back, revealing a mildly offended expression on his foxy, masculine features, "I can waltz in here and take whatever I please, and I will. It's not rocket science—I'm just taking things that should belong to me."

Prada was easy to provoke and easier to analyze. He wasn't a liar, and almost everything he said was a reflection of the truth as he saw it. For a man as vile as him, he was especially transparent about his intentions, but the issue wasn't his wit or intelligence—it was simply his resources and power. He was a multimillionaire as Louie Calvin Klein, and he didn't shy away from using his income to fuel hobbies like this. He has entire institutions and flocks of people backing his every move, even if it only meant concealing the connection between Prada and Louie Calvin Klein. He bought convenient little gadgets that aided in his heists, even if they were only nifty little teleportation lacrimas. There were no tricks, there was no hidden motive—there was only a bold man who did things boldly, and was powerful enough to have his way, a luxury that some villains simply could not afford.

Prada spoke down to Hercule as if he were explaining the difference between a continent and a country. He knew that many of the world's fodder couldn't immediately understand his birthright to the world and its riches, but it wasn't any less baffling or offensive whenever he had to put them down for it. Why was it so difficult to understand? The difference in their power, financial or otherwise, was so incredible, that it was always baffling that he even had contenders to begin with. There were people like Vandrad, who angered him most of all, but at least he'd have more satisfaction in silencing that vulgar ape than a fatass hog like this guy. He never liked getting his hands dirty, especially with fat garbage.

It was then that Hercule's bimbo girlfriend appeared next to Prada, with an air about as predictable as any girl he's seen with sugar daddies. Being a multimillionaire himself, he had had his fair share of gold diggers, and everyone had either been incredibly intelligent and intentionally superficial, or just dumb and greedy. If she was anything like the latter, she probably wouldn't have stood here right now. Was she hoping to switch over to him?

Oh, and there it was, the infamous 'switch' as Prada coined it. Crafty or crackbrained, it was... what was it? He had been thinking of the word 'offensive' a lot lately, and 'baffling' too. But this was both of those things, and then a little funny. Why did this girl think that she was good enough for his money and even worse...

"Who gave you permission speak to me, chienne?" Prada's eyes narrowed fractionally as they instantly fixed on the dressed-up girl, a golden spear materializing into his hands in a blink of an eye, and with unfaltering resolve, Prada aimed the blade of the spear to the girl's sternum, attempting to lodge in straight through her. "Tell me. Who? It certainly wasn't me, and if it wasn't me, then why are you speaking? Pigs don't talk to me."

"I did, of course, Tête de noeud," she sassed, eyeing the spear just in time. Dying here on the platform wouldn't have been a bad way to get out of further trouble, but she hadn't planted that tracker on him yet. If he ditched the egg quickly, then this would be a rather large waste of her time, and if there was anything the lazy girl hated more, it was wasted effort when she did decide to spend it. Instead of a graceful backbend out of the way like most spies would do, she avoided the jab with a knee-jerk fall, landing right on her butt with the egg still clutched tightly. She wasn't ready to give up her game yet. Sure, the Minstrelois slip up had just jumped out of her, drawn out by just how truly dickheaded this man was and the shock of such a quick kill attempt, but bimbos could be sassy and know a few Minstrelois insults, right? "Eeeey! Watch it with that thing! You almost impaled me," she gasped in dim misunderstanding, letting out a laugh as if she thought it was an accident. "Save the spear-poking for later, yeah? Geez," Dela smiled, getting back to her feet with a wobble.

Holding the egg out like a shield, she hoped he'd reach out for it. She'd strike then, as a last effort to get the tracker on him before calling off this whole thing. Out of all the bad character traits in Prada's file, they'd missed his hurry to off anyone he encountered that was the least bit of a minor inconvenience and his immunity to pretty girls. What a brat. Dela knew she was already being far too hopeful that she'd get another chance unless she could entice him somehow. "Aren't you interested in me at all? Just this egg? That seems awfully boring to only take stuff and not the women throwing themselves at you, you know? I hope I didn't get all gussied up for no reason," she said, stepping closer. "Take me and the egg and whatever else. I can't stand the sight of that old guy who's been pawing me all day. I'm sure we'd have a good time, if even for a day, somewhere nice."

    Alone with Him [Prada/Dela] Y9OxwMH

I don't chase ; I attract. What belongs to me will come to me.

For a moment, Prada didn't say anything. He just watched this woman step closer to him, comfortable in her own skin as she approached. Anyone who had any value for their own life would've made a B-line for the nearest exit by now, and most gold diggers preferred the thought of digging for jewel more than the idea of digging their graves. But even the kind who were more calculated and intelligent about their motives surely knew where to draw a line, so why hasn't she? There was no point in sucking up to the rich and powerful if you weren't alive to celebrate those spoils, so what was she trying to say or do that was worth risking her life over? Was it the egg? Maybe this really was a last resort to preserving her own life, instead of begging for it or running away. Whichever the case, the curious question brought a mildly interested smile to Prada's condescending features.

"For a no good nobody like you, even I must applaud your performance. Perhaps if you had decided to pursue acting instead of whatever it is you're trying to do now, you wouldn't have to die tonight," Prada closed his eyes and shook his head, pulling the spear back and swiping it out to his side as if to make a statement of a ceasefire. It was long and golden, beautiful in all of its intricate and complex designs that weaved through the precious metal. For a moment, the auditorium was silent, and the air was still. For a few seconds, it truly did seem like a man as proud and arrogant as Prada succumbed to this bimbo's enticing temptations, but more than proud and arrogant, he wasn't a liar.

"What?! Old guy?! You bi—?!!" Hercule ground his teeth together as he overheard the bimbo's betrayal underneath the spotlight. The crime lord was so angry that his face began to turn red, but that wasn't all that turned red. Seemingly out of nowhere, and large wound cut his neck open, a slice so clean and thin that it looked like a paper cut wrapping around half of his neck. In a cruel mixture of shock and horror, Hercule slowly cupped his hand over the wound as blood gushed outward, spilling through the gaps in his fingers as the contents of his artery spilled out onto the floor. His suit quickly became soiled, and the stench of iron filled the room. "H-Ho-How... when did... you..." he mumbled as he began to wobble, struggling to stand up straight. No more than five seconds passed before he dropped to the ground face-first as the wound continued to bleed. It was funny how he could be so red one minute, and then be drained of all life and color the next. Prada didn't even look at him, but it was a little amusing.

After murdering Hercule without batting an eye, the bimbo was finally alone with him. He'd drop his spear, and it'd deconstruct into pure mana before it hit the ground. When Prada first started doing these heists, his magical ability was manageable, to say the least. Your average sorcerer could probably stand a chance if they caught up with him in time. But now, he had reached a level where he could make clean shots so quickly that even if you didn't blink, you'd likely miss it. His speed was on another level, and his power was on the level of some Wizard Saints. If there wasn't anyone strong enough to obstruct his path soon, it wouldn't be long before Fiore would find their next Warlord, especially with a personality like his.

"But before that, I've been wondering about this for a long time now. Where I come from, there's a clear pecking order that everyone follows regardless of age, sex, religion... that whole thing. The only thing that mattered was what others could do for you. Friendship is political, attending funerals was a great way to exchange business cards, and if you were really so out of luck, maybe you could live out the rest of your days in security by marrying off one of your daughters to some CEO's son. Makes sense, right? Even the foulest of creatures wants the best for themselves..." Prada continued on, looking down at the woman with his quizzical smirk. He began walking backward for a moment, and at the snap of his fingers, a golden throne-looking seat manifested behind him from a quickly-conjured magic circle. He carefully avoided the corpse of Hercule and sat in his seat, folding his legs over one another and leaning on his armrest with interest. But no sooner had he created his throne had he crafted something else. With impossibly awesome speed, five other magic circle manifested around the woman, and from them burst out a golden chain from each. They'd briskly attempt to immobilize her, trying to coil around her wrists, ankles, and neck as Prada continued on with his monologue. "By the time I turned fourteen, I was already building up successful companies and leading projects that would build the future for my legacy. Men who could easily be my Grandfather couldn't look me in the eye when they met me, and I had secured my rightful place on top of that pecking order. Everything was as it should be... but it was different when I came here. To Fiore."

Suddenly the smile faded from his face, and he looked a little disinterested as his lionlike eyes drifted off somewhere. He began to recall his days leading up to here, and how his arrival in this third-world country sowed the seeds for his motives now. It was like a slideshow—how his shoes were soiled after exiting this horse-drawn carriage, and how the first person he met with was his older cousin Beaux, working a job that didn't suit him after disappearing off of the face of Earthland for a while. How he joined Fairy Tail for business reasons and stayed long enough to meet insufferable pigs like Vandrad, but also... tolerable girls, like Nessa, and how the very thought of her made him feel warm inside. There was Aeluri, and Lady Twilight, and so much more that happened. It was... quite a vacation.

"You fools don't believe in respect. You think... that it's the burden of those clearly superior to you to earn it, rather for you to fulfill your obligation to give it. How does that make sense? Anything I piss on is worth more than you'll ever be able to earn, just by the virtue that I pissed on it... but you pigs are so prideful and insolent that you'll throw away your lives just to prove a point," Prada chuckled, his usual haughtiness returning to his face as he looked at the woman he was hoping to chain down. He looked like he was having a good time, explaining all of this. "It's unnatural. Even bacteria want to survive, but you lot will die just because you cannot cope with the reality that you are simply less than. At first I thought it to be incredibly offensive, and I still do... but now I kind of see the humor in it, oui?"

Prada was a beautiful man. He had beautiful silvery-white hair, sharp eyes, and a body crafted from a Goddess of Beauty herself. He made beautiful things with his magic, and nearly every travesty and massacre he'd leave in his endless pursuit of material things was undebatably gorgeous. He didn't dirty things, so he did all of his victims a service by turning them into golden statues, where the world could behold their final faces frozen into the metal mold. He lived his life honesty and extravagantly, and he seemed so easy to understand. There was even something frighteningly alluring about the wicked smirk on his face now.

"Without fear, danger could be sitting right in front of you, and you'd never know it. It goes against your nature as beasts to ignore it, and by the time you listen, it's too late," Prada leaned forward, a sort of sick humor twinkling in his eyes. He truly believed what he was saying. "Honnêtement! You should be thanking me. Before I kill you, you'll have the honor of seeing how things ought to be! I'm kind of like your savior, yeah? Pfftha!"

In Progress Re: Alone with Him [Prada/Dela]

Post by Dela 9th February 2021, 4:43 am

What was it with bad guys monologuing? She was freakin standing there with an egg that costed more than what she'd have in her entire life in her hands, offering herself to him and...he starts just jabbering away. Trying to keep her bright, bimbo eyes from returning to their cynical selves and rolling back into her head took a level of control that only a seasoned infiltrator would have, but it was only barely enough. This Prada guy was a piece of work indeed. Yeah, yeah, no good nobody, right, she was gonna die. Mhm, heard it all before. Couldn't there be a villain didn't have an inflated sense of self for a change? Did they all have to be narcissists and/or psychopaths? At this point, she'd give up pizza for a week just to run into a bad guy that wasn't utterly hatable, that maybe did his super-villainy stuff because he had a sick wife or kid, or just had self-esteem issues and murderous plunder made him feel like he was worth something...mix it up a little....

Then Prada broke his speech earlier than she anticipated. The motion was so fast that she'd missed it, but then it was all too clear. When she'd said she couldn't stand Hercule anymore, she hadn't really been considering what that would imply. Empty horror filled her as she realized she might have gotten him killed, though logic and reasoning told her he was doomed anyway. It still felt like her fault, and from several different angles, it was. If she hadn't been Hercule's date and pushed her luck trying to get trackers on things, he probably would have escaped with the rest of the underground auction attendees. The man was gross, old, and a total skeeze, but...watching him die like that wasn't easy for her, someone who was supposed to serve and protect. Dela had seen some things in her long life, many of which were highly unpleasant, but this one was just so senseless and gory that she had to avert her eyes.

Now they were alone and he was materializing a throne. Ah, there was the rest of the monologue. Dela zoned out a little, mulling over her own plan of action. Prada was stronger than her sources had revealed, so at this point, it looked like death was her best option. The others in her operation should hopefully be pulling out since she'd given them a time limit. If she wasn't either dead or out of there in ten minutes, it was safe to assume she'd failed at least part of it and they should save themselves. Dela wasn't a big fan of collateral damage on her missions. While she had the benefit of a lot more detail than most, it wasn't always 100% reliable. Like now.

Where was he in the monologue? Right, the glory days of his youth. The Rune Knight simply watched as the magic circles and chains appeared around her. She didn't even flinch. It was too fast, plus she wasn't a very combat-focused operative. Nothing she had in her very limited arsenal would help her in any way, so the best she could do was hold still as she was wrapped up and held still. "I mean, really, I clearly wasn't trying to run," she muttered under her breath, letting her assumed persona melt off of her. He went on. Something about respect. Something about piss...what was it with narcissists and piss? Where they dogs, feeling like they wanted to hike their legs and just shower anything they did or didn't like in pee to show superiority or dominance? Now that she thought about it, it probably had something to do with guys and their dicks. There'd been quite a few predictably narcissist women she'd taken down in these types of operations, but they never touted that stuff they squatted and peed on was worth any more or less than anything else.

Feeling as if her eyes would roll so far back that they came back around again if she listened to him any more, Dela sighed heavily and silently thanked whatever was up in the heavens he finally shut up. "God, I thought that was never gonna end," she said, her voice distinctly different. Gone was the purposefully vapid, nasally tone, and instead her slightly deadpan one replaced it. "Please, save me if you have any more of whatever you were gobbing on about and I will definitely thank you with my last breath. I'll truly be honored if the way things ought to be is silent," Dela said, staring him right in the eyes with a bored expression. "One of these days, I'm going to monologue too. Equal opportunity monologuing for the hero, the villain, and the innocent bystander. Everyone gets to go on a tangent about how they want everyone to really feel about them and why their pasts justify it, and then by the time everyone is done boredom is so palpable that the killer has fallen asleep and everyone gets to die another day."

Yeah, he wasn't bad looking, but it was his personality that made him repulsive. She wondered if he knew that. And she didn't just mean the whole killing people and stealing whatever crap, but his actual personality, the one who thought it looked cool to make a throne of gold to sit on while he declared everyone around him were filthy nobody pig bacteria beasts. "Wait, am I a filthy nobody, pig, bacteria, or beast? You gotta pick one for consistency's sake," she critiqued, looking thoughtful. "Maybe you should write these things down and rehearse beforehand, to make sure your degrading comes off as somewhat thoughtful."
