The sound of high heels clicked and clacked against the cobblestone of Dragonbane Avenue, leading the path to a rather quaint looking building. Albertina eyed it up and down, hesitating for a moment. Not that it wasn't satisfactory, but she had hoped her future employers would have a dash more style. Regardless of the slight tint of disappointment brewing within her gut, appearances weren't what mattered most at this point in time. Although becoming a guild wizard was all she had dreamed of since she was a child, the prospect began to shake her at the knees and blow at her fingers, making them tremble as if they were tiny leaves on a worn down tree. Her decision on choosing this guild had been nothing less than pure circumstance.
The guild name enticed her especially. In her childhood, Albertina had been raised on stories and fairy tales- literature based around heroes who would defend the defenceless and avenge those who had been wronged. The name Fairy Tail seemed almost like a sign from the heavens, a big, flashy and pointy arrow, directed straight at the somewhat less than charming guild hall she now stood in front of. To find something that would stick to these values was all she sought, but without the uptight, watchful eye of the Magic Council constantly looming about her head. It wasn't as if she was seeking out mischief -or even malice-, however, sometimes justice and good deeds carried onto the end called for a rougher hand than the law might allow. Fortunately enough, a well-reputed guild with just that kind of name laid unexpectedly close to home. Fairy Tail was exactly what she was looking for.
Now more reassured than less, after having mentally revised her entire plan of action, Albertina stepped towards the door, slamming one knock after the other. It took a couple of seconds to realize that she most likely hadn't even needed to do that, and that the door could simply be opened.
With a push to the door, heavier than she had anticipated, Albertina stepped inside, letting the door slam behind her. She didn't flinch at the sound this time, her thoughts firmly centered on one goal. That goal in mind, she began to look around, searching for someone who could possibly help her get admitted to the guild.
The inside of the building looked cozy enough, on either side of her a counter, although Albertina wasn't sure yet what one of them was for. The other seemed like a bar, plain and simple. She had heard rumors about the Fairy Tail alcohol consumption levels, and had always wondered what it might be like to get drunk. She knew that once she got past this, she would get the chance to try, but for now it wasn't relevant. Deeper in, her eyes spotted a charming courtyard, which definitely seemed more to Albertina's tastes. Unfortunately, none of the scenery had given her a clue of where to go.
As confident as she felt on the inside, on the outside, Albertina appeared as little less than a baby chick, gawking around in all directions and taking in the new sights, without any real clue of what she was doing. Despite her attempts, she really hadn't kept up with any of the news about the guild, as her idea to join had been very spontaneous. She searched for anyone who seemed to stand out, but without knowing who to ask, there was a lack of options. Finally, she let out a sigh of defeat.
    "Hey, how do I join?"
