Beaux should have known that being back to front with Iris would lead to anything other than being productive. His mistake was realized as he felt arms wrap around him from behind. While he loved the embrace, he was painfully aware of the presence of the cake lady. She cleared her throat, indicating that they were most certainly not allowed to stand here and feel each other up.“R-right.”
Beaux turned to look at the cake and tools. “The big piping bag is in front of your right hand. If you want to grab-”
the words seemed to fall out of his mouth and mind as he felt Iris’ lips on the back of his neck. The feeling sent a shudder through his body. Being a very sensual person, stuff like this drove Beaux wild. Iris knew that well.“Alright, move your hand forward and squeeze the bag to get some frosting out. Make sure you grip it right and don't squeeze too hard.”
Beaux was trying to power through the very distracting touches Iris was giving him. “Then under your left hand is a frosting knife. Just try to spread the frosting around.”
Despite his best efforts, trying to get Iris to focus was like asking a hyperactive dog to sit still for more than a minute. No matter how detailed his instructions were, the cake was barely decorated and a mess was being made. There was no way they’d get the cake decorated at this rate.
Cold frosting on his neck nearly startled Beaux clear out of the sweater. He stood stunned, face turning red, as Iris’ tongue grazed his skin, licking up the icing. Knowing the cake lady was right there made the angelic man squirm. He wanted to melt into the floor. “Iris,”
he choked out, a pleading tone to his voice. The frosting on his neck was definitely not a mistake if he knew anything about the violet-haired man. He was making Beaux flustered on purpose.
Several more minutes ensued of Beaux stammering instructions while stubbornly pretending Iris wasn’t tormenting him intentionally. He was frustrated in more ways than one, but there was nothing he could do about it now. Reprimanding wasn’t his style, especially not in front of a stranger.“Time’s up!”
the lady called out, waving her hand for them to put down the frosting and tools. Beaux let out a shaky sigh, leaning back against Iris and taking a look at their creation. Red frosting was smeared all over the cake in no particular pattern with pieces of cake peeking through. A few haphazard blobs of pink frosting were splattered on the top. It was no masterpiece, but the fact that they got frosting on there at all was a small victory in itself.“Interesting technique,”
the cake lady joked. She picked up a knife and cut a slice out of the cake and placed it on a plate before putting the rest in the glass case with the rest of the decorated cakes. “A souvenir for you two!”
Once the two men were free from the large sweater, she handed Beaux the plate, accompanied by two pink plastic forks and a heart-shaped napkin.“Thanks for playing, have a nice afternoon!”
the lady gave them a wave, then made herself busy cleaning up the frosting before the next participant arrived. She seemed eager to get them out of the booth to free herself of having to watch the near-erotic mess that was Beaux and Iris’ teamwork.“Let’s find something else to do,”
Beaux suggested, hoping for a distraction. He took a bite of the cake and looked around to see what other activities there were. Along the walkway they were on, he saw a wooden booth with a large sign above it. Red lips covered the sign, which read ‘Kissing Booth’
in bold lettering.“A kissing booth?”
Beaux observed it curiously. “They had one of those at a school dance when I was younger, but I never participated.”
Turning to Iris, he nodded towards the booth. “Have you ever tried one?”
