There was no time to waste and as the black haired teenager entered the village, her eyes couldn’t help but be drawn to the large platform in the centre of the place. It was decorated in the colours of the Rune Knights, a fact that caused Elara to cringe. She didn’t think much of them at the best of times and in a way, that was part of the reason why she’d agreed to take on this job in the first place. To her, they were little more than her parents, trying to hold her and in their case, everyone else down. Today though, things would start to change and she could get her new career as a wandering mage off to a good start. Her mission? To kill the leader of the group of knights that were trying to rally support for their cause. The same old self righteous garbage no doubt and as Elara found a nice vantage point of the whole scene, she couldn’t help but smile a little. It felt so good to be free after living for so long in fear and the summoner was more than ready to live for herself.
She’d been told by her employer that it was vital that she waited until the speech was in full flow before actually committing the crime and so there was little else for her to do but wait. Elara didn’t mind that too much and it did give her time to plan her escape from the place once the deed was done. No doubt that would be the hard part and she reckoned that quite a few of her spirits would get a chance to shine before the day was done. As for the kill itself? There was only one spirit that she was going to use, her hunter and most stealthy of spirits, Rengar. She was always thirsty for blood and Elara would make sure that she’d get her full. She’d made so many spirit allies in the short time since she’d left her home and by now they were almost like an army in size. Each one loyal to her and her alone which was a lovely change of pace. Even the ones who didn’t agree with her methods were at least loyal enough to do as she wished anyway.
Taking Rengar’s key in hand, Elara would peep out from her vantage point and watch the platform below, where a couple of knights were starting to get everything ready. They seemed far too busy to pay any mind to anything other than their own jobs and honestly, the guards didn’t look that great anyway. Just a small force that she was pretty sure that she could deal with if things went awry. Still, taking a few more lives didn’t bother her all that much, as long as she got her well earned pay and a chance to stick it to the law. Two birds with one stone really, a fact that brought her a sense of joy.
