Although she wasn't exactly the type one would presume to be a bodyguard, Seika had completed many a protective mission in the past. Whether that consisted of shielding an ally while they rampaged around a public area was a whole other matter entirely. Either way, she was interested from the moment the job was posted on Elysium's guild board. Tugging at her bond mate's tail, Seika pointed at the slip. "Aphi! Look! It has "Cat" in the name!" Okay, so it was possible that she wasn't intrigued because of the aspect of protecting scared customers, suppliers, and the property itself.

Said feline did not seem amused by her friend's observation. "Yes, Seika," Aphelia yawned before slinking away, heading back for the stairs that led up to the quarters of guild members. "Aphi! Come back! Cmon, I wanna do this job. Feels like we haven't done a job in foreverrr," the girl whined, ignoring the snarl of the feline as she was picked up and carried back over to the job board. "Put me back down, you imbecile," Aphelia hissed, both of them ignoring the fact that if she actually so desired, she could completely teleport away. "Nuh uh! We're gonna do this job! Aphi! It'll be fun! There's cats involved!" She was fairly set on the mission, despite having read only a few words of its description. Aphelia rolled her eyes, but as she was swooshed around by Seika, she studied the board again. "Okay, we can do it, but don't be surprised if there are less cats than you expect," she finally agreed. They did need to make money and eat anyway, since not going on mission for a little while had begun to have its consequences.

When Seika arrived at the venue where she was supposed to meet someone named "Agil," she stared at the place with confusion. "Aphi? Are you sure you teleported us into the right city? Maybe this is a different Black Cat Lounge," she suggested gently. The feline smacked her across the face with a paw before jumping down from her arms and trotting up to the front entrance. "It's the right place, stupid," she said, and Seika huffed before stomping forwards. "Okay, well, I'm sure this place is cool anyway!" The mage couldn't stay angry for very long; it was just nice to get out and about again. Inside, she glanced around. To be completely honest, Seika wasn't really sure where to find this employer of hers, or even her job partner. After all, that Agil had informed her after she'd accepted the job, that she would be having a colleague on this mission, since two mages were better than one.

As Asami overturned her jewel pouch and hung her head as more air than jewel fell into her palm. “Hmm, I’m going to need more jewel than this if I’m going to continue on my journey.” She approached the job board in town and looked over the jobs however one stuck out above all the others; The Black Cat Lounge needed wizards to help with some trouble from another bar. “Sounds dangerous… but I do need the jewel” She pulled the job off the board and made her way towards the Black Cat Lounge following the directions of passers-by.

As she approached the Black Cat Lounge and entered the bar, she had a sudden feeling of dread. Ori always talked to clients when they accepted jobs in the past What was she supposed to say? Will they test her strength before accepting her to take the job?

Asami found herself stood in front of the young man behind the bar washing glasses and froze. “What can I get ya?” After a few moments Asami blurted out “Hi I’m Asami I’m here to speak with Agil about the job!”  “Sit down, your partner should be here soon.” Partner? Did he say partner? At least the job won’t be so dangerous now with another wizard at her side. She made her way to a table by the door and sat to wait. Before long she saw a young girl enter the door nearby.

It seemed that at this time of day, there weren't very many people around. In fact, one of the only people who Seika could feel a hint of magic from, thanks to her sensory, was a beautifully dressed woman with curly hair and dark eyes. She made her way over to the table, which was actually rather close by. "Hi! My name is Taneda Akies, but everyone just calls me Seika! Are you my, um, partner for this mission?" Even though she asked, she felt rather confident about that fact. Despite, well... to be completely honest, the mage was not accustomed to having random partners. Usually, she only worked with either Aphelia or her guild mates. However, the girl was always, always open to meeting new people! With this in mind, she gave the woman a bright smile and was about to slide into a seat across from her new friend when suddenly a man emerged from a door behind the counter, exuding a presence that commanded her attention. A little bit hesitatingly, Seika paid him attention as he stepped up to the two of them.

Introducing himself as Agil, he seemed to have a no nonsense sort of attitude. Seika didn't mind that, although she was a bit miffed that there wouldn't be much time for introductions. It looked like she would have to get to know her partner better along the way. Agil ushered them out of the club with a bit of a stern expression? It was difficult for Seika to place, but... it seemed almost worried? If so, that was sweet, to worry about their safety! Now that the girl was on that track of thinking, she decided to turn to her partner and hold up her hands, glowing faintly with golden light. "Can I cast a shield around you?" She asked, figuring it would be better to ask permission first. If the woman agreed, the Seika would gently lay an enormous bubble over her person, which would sink into her skin and vanish, leaving no trace but protecting from any damage up to a decent amount. "Okay, so! We have to find um, a bar called the Demons' Den." That was an odd name for a bar, but Seika guessed it wouldn't be too hard to find, since it had to be nearby, right? She was about to pull out her phone and search for the address, when Aphelia nudged her mentally through their bond link. Just track the posters, the feline insisted silently.

At that, Seika lifted her head up and examined the side of the building that housed the Black Cat Lounge. "Um, right, so they vandalized these, didn't they?" She studied the painted over ads and postings that said the times the establishment were open. "You wouldn't happen to know how we can find the Demons' Den, would you?" Seika asked, just in case her partner had a better way.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Post by Tuppen 23rd June 2020, 11:38 am

Asami watched as the girl approached her, her glasses covered her soft looking eyes and she appeared to be followed by a strange cat. As the girl introduced herself as Seika, Asami realised this must be her partner. Asami went to reply to her introduction, a man, presumably Agil approached the table they were at and explained the job further to the pair. Asami worried that she may come off as rude from not introducing herself to Seika straight away but they were then hurried out of the Black Cat Lounge by Agil, her first job without Ori had begun.

Asami accepted Seikas offer to shield her as the magic surrounded her. After Seika cast the shield so easily she was very impressed, when Asami was that age she still struggled moving the earth around her. ”Thank you, I’m afraid I don’t have anything like that to offer. My magic tends to create a bit of a mess. Um.. I’m Asami, Asami Rayve. Sorry for not introducing myself earlier.” While Asami sheepishly glanced toward the ground she thought how kind it was that Seika would shield her preemptively.

In response to Seikas statement Asami attempted a bit of a joke to break the ice. “Demons Den sounds scary right? I don’t know who would want to spend their time in a place like that.” Asami chuckled to herself and smiled down at Seika. Asami pondered how they might get the harrasment to stop, she knew she wasn’t great with convincing people to change their mind so failing that a fight would be almost guaranteed to happen. Though she knew that Seika was a wizard like herself she couldn’t help but worry for her if a fight broke out.

Asami nodded in reponse to Seika and looked at the vandalism Seika noted, now the lack of directional signs to the Black Cat Lounge made sense. “My best idea would be to ask around if anyone knows where the Demons’ Den might be.” As Asami looked around for anyone that might be able to guide them she noticed a rough man in the distance swaying from side to side, he then stopped and ripped down a poster advertising the Black Cat Lounge. “Or maybe he knows?” pointing towards him “We could ask him or even follow him? What do you think?

When her partner, who she now knew to be Asami, made what seemed to be a joke, Seika laughed uncontrollably before she was smacked across the head by Aphelia, who had since jumped on her shoulder. Stop making weird noises, idiot, the cat told her through the mind link, and Seika coughed before reeling herself to a stop. "Asami! Nice to meet you then! You're really funny," she told the other female, eyes sparkling. When they began to try and discuss ways to track down the location of the Demons' Den, Seika had been a bit troubled. After realizing she forgot her iLac at home, she wasn't entirely certain that she would be able to perform a tracking spell. That fiasco once... luckily, it looked like Asami had thought of something? Seika followed the movement of her arm as she pointed towards a rather large man, with unkempt clothing and features. "Uhm... hm, him? Okay!" Seika clapped at the idea. Asami was so smart! With her new plan in mind, she gave the other mage a thumbs up and then skipped off towards the stranger, who was busily tearing apart the posters Agil or some other staff had probably put up.

"Excuse me, Mister! Do you know where I can find the Demons' Den?" Seika waved to him when he turned to face her, a bright smile across her face. He stared with expressionless eyes for a moment before he turned away, muttering something about stupid... something. She couldn't quite catch it. Shrugging, she reached out to touch his shoulder and try to turn him back to face her gently. As soon as her fingers were an inch away, though, he grabbed her outstretched appendage by the wrist and flipped her into the wall with a low thump. Her sweater absorbed most of the damage, magically sealing it away and cushioning the impact, but it still knocked some of the breath out of her. Emitting a low sound of surprise, Seika blinked up at him, seeing him turn his back away and begin to slink off. Aphelia had leaped off of her the moment she had been tossed against the side of the Black Cat Lounge, and now she was busily staring in the stranger's direction and hissing almost inaudibly. Seika rubbed her shoulder with a wince before pulling herself up again and turning back in Asami's direction. "Okay, um, I guess we're following him!" She would try to grab the woman's hand, if she let her, and then dash after the man who was slowly disappearing from sight. Otherwise, Seika would just follow on her own and let Asami travel however she wanted, without being dragged.

As it turned out, he had... a pack? A group? When the mages finally wheeled to a stop, he had led them straight to a gathering of uh, similar people. Thugs, Aphelia provided helpfully in her mind. Right, thugs. They were mostly taller than Seika, but she thought she spotted a couple that might have almost been her same height? She would count that as a victory! From the several meters away that the group was, they probably couldn't hear either of the mages, but Seika cast a small illusion over herself and Asami anyway. Aphelia could disguise herself however she liked, and the peachy haired girl knew by now not to mess with the feline's appearance. The illusion, if Asami let it take (she could dispel it just by flaring her power ever so gently) would simply make it harder for enemies to spot them, disturbing the light around their silhouettes. Seika finished counting the thugs and would turn to Asami. "I think there's eleven of them, maybe twelve. I can't tell if um, that's a person behind that crate or just a shadow..." she trailed off contemplatively. Their job was just to stop the vandalizers, so they didn't actually have to confront anyone inside the Demons' Den or anything. Just deal with these people outside hanging around the area, the ones who were ripping down posters and scaring off customers.

Seika did think she might have seen a few more shadows in the corner of the area where the thugs were, but she couldn't be sure. It might have easily been her mind playing tricks on her as it was creeping further into the evening.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Post by Tuppen 24th June 2020, 11:59 am

As Asami’s partner turned and approached the man Asami’s cheeks turned red and a smile formed on her face. Asami sighed from relief, she thinks I’m funny, I’ve managed to not mess up being normal! Her mind flashed to Ori’s disappearance, maybe I hadn’t done something wrong after all?

The image before her snapped her out of her thoughts however as she watched Seika be attacked by the man. Asami felt rage, at herself for letting her partner get hurt and at the attacker for hurting her. Asami’s body charged down toward her friend, one fist clenched. “Sorry! Are you ok-AY?!” Her other hand grabbed by Seika as she was dragged along. Right! Mind on the job, calm down Asami.

The man’s destination, didn’t seem too far away as the pair rounded the corner of a dim street and saw a group of rowdy men stood by a lit building showing the words ‘Demons’ Den.’ The rest of the street was getting darker by the second, the wizards would need to get this job done soon. A fight in the dark would be much more dangerous and unpredictable. Her partner had cast another spell over Asami who then felt like an awful ally being unable to offer anything in return for a second time. Seika had pointed out the number of figures outside the bar, even spotting some Asami hadn’t noticed such as the figure near the crate. Asami decided she wouldn’t let Seika go first this time, she reminded herself again that Seika was a wizard too but Asami didn’t want to see her new friend hurt. “I’m going to try and talk with them, see if we can convince them to leave the Black Cat Lounge alone.

Asami moved cautiously toward the entrance of the bar, scanning around her for any potential assailants. Her eyes narrowed as she saw a familiar face, the one that led them to the Demons’ Den. Moving toward the man and the 3 others at his flanks, Asami had lost all thoughts of her surroundings. “Excuse me, I’ve a few words to say to you.” Seeing the man attempting to ignore her she grabbed at the collar of his shirt pulling him towards her. “We’re here to ask you and whoever else is harassing and vandalising the Black Cat Lounge to stop.” Asami stumbled back as the man pushed her away claiming he hadn’t done anything they could prove slurring his words as he spoke. Suddenly her surroundings came back into view, she saw a man on either side of her and realised she was almost surrounded, a handful of them even raising improvised weapons. This was going to turn bad very fast and all because she couldn’t control her anger. She began getting a sense of the earth around her in preparation for a fight.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Post by Ran 24th June 2020, 12:51 pm

Seika glanced in Asami's direction as she heard words float through the air. Ah- she was going to talk to them? "Mhm, okay!" She nodded and gave a verbal sign of agreement, just in case the other mage had already turned away to go and attempt to directly address them. Judging by the way that thug had tossed her around before, she felt like it might not work out so well. But she had already shielded Asami, and preemptively cast a spell that would heal in the case of any damage, so... that was about all she could do right now. That, and hope that Asami wouldn't get hurt or anything because of her fault and not stopping her. However, it would be nice if they agreed to leave the Black Cat Lounge alone just because of a conversation. After all, Agil wasn't paying for the vandalizers to be killed. He just wanted his establishment protected. A promise to stop would do, since they could return again, Seika supposed, if the promise was broken. Scaring them off would be the best option, since they wouldn't want to return in that case, of their own will. Seika pulled herself out of her thoughts and watched carefully, preparing a spell in case anything went wrong. At her side, Aphelia slunk through the fence and began to flank the group of men, unwilling to wait for either of the mages to make a move. The feline was already sure of how this would go, and for those reasons, she began to lay down invisible spells that were traps and could easily be sprung should fighting ensue. And boy, Aphelia felt sure it would. The two did pay close attention to the conversation as Asami suddenly began to move a bit differently, losing the caution that she had so far displayed.

Oh! Apparently, she had spotted the man who had thrown Seika into the wall. It was painful to watch when he ignored her, but as soon as she grabbed him, Seika made a move to go forwards. She began to move quietly, but swiftly, towards the scene, her hands glowing ever so slightly with magic. When Asami asked them to stop with their messing around of the Black Cat Lounge, the mage and her bond mate listened keenly for the response. It wasn't a positive one. Seika threw out her hands, a golden light flying out as the man pushed Asami away. Obviously, a great many of the thugs were drunk, but a few seemed to be on high alert, immediately getting to their feet and beginning to surround Asami. Seika's spell fell around the other mage, colliding with the guys who had drawn too close and knocking them away with a pulse of energy. Anyone who touched it was dazed, their energy drawn out of them and their bodies dealt a solid knock of force. From what she could see, only three were unconscious from that, but most of them had backed away, unsure of getting near. Within a minute, though, the golden light dispersed, leaving only the invisible shields and spells Seika had cast on the mage earlier- still, there was no visible deterrent for the opponents to feel intimidated by. Some were aiming weapons, now, and Seika raised her voice. "Look out!" Behind Asami, a man had a lead pipe raised and was about to try and bring it down on top of the girl in a heavy blow.

Suddenly, Aphelia's voice echoed through their link, breaking Seika's attention away from the human thugs. We have a problem, the feline informed her, and Seika slipped through the fence, phasing through by turning her body momentarily to light and energy. Now on the side of the thugs, her body shimmered lightly before dimming and nearly dissolving into the shadows, courtesy of the illusions she had cast earlier that adapted to the amount of light in the area. Once Seika was fully to the side of the group, she found a horrifying sight. There were three orcs, hulking around in the corner. Even though none had made a move to act yet, they seemed to be intrigued by the fight that was taking place. Aphelia showed Seika in a sudden flash of images that apparently, she had caught sight of giant clubs earlier that leaned against a nearby wall and were presumably their weapons. These weren't anywhere to be seen now, but Seika believed in the presence of them. It was good to be cautious. She decided to deal with them preemptively, since once the human thugs were all down, they would have to make sure the orcs weren't an issue. It would be nice to make certain they couldn't intervene in the middle and cause problems for Asami, as well. With a flash of golden light, Seika blinded the orcs. Two of them immediately began to move, in a slow, fumbling manner, grabbing their clubs. The other didn't budge whatsoever and instead looked to be either thinking or sensing the area. She hadn't heard of orcs ever having magic, but just in case, she inhaled a breath and then sent a stream of bubbles flying from between her lips, contacting that orc in the head. When it didn't seem to take at first, she sent another flurry of bubbles to assault him around the eyes, finally resulting in a slumped over orc. Usually enemies were immobilized from just one attack, but even though it had taken longer for the orc to go down, it seemed like it would be unconscious for a while.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Post by Tuppen 29th June 2020, 3:49 pm

Asami stood there unsure how to take on her opponents. As she came up with a plan of action the hairs on the back of her neck stood up, a wave of surrounding her. The job never mentioned that any of them were wizards. Asami felt truly scared, but as the spell activated and 3 assailants were knocked away a wave of relief washed over her and her mind cleared. Of course! I’m not alone on this one, Thanks for the assist Seika. This seemed to have frightened the rest of them from attacking, at least for a little while.

Asami heard Seika’s call just a moment too late, feeling the lead pipe strike the back of her head as she crouched to the ground below her. Despite being hit with such force she didn’t experience much pain, suddenly she felt the magic shield around her disappear. I have to be careful I won’t get another close call like that again. As Asami crouched she placed her closed fists to the ground using her go to hand to hand magic. Four green magic circles appeared below Asami’s fists and feet as the earth below molded itself around them to form a barrier of earth. Asami pounced backward and upward towards the aggressor bringing her fist up backwards. For a split second she saw the regret in the man's eyes as her Brutal Fist magic connected with his chin from below. The unconscious body ascended a full metre before falling to the ground. The lead pipe he was wielding clattered to the ground nearby.

Her attention now turned towards an attacker from her side, Asami threw her right leg into the air aiming for this new attacker. Her earth covered foot striking him in the chest as she heard a distinct cracking sound, his rib had been broken by her kick. One more down and the odds of this fight were starting to look better, the only attacker within striking range now was the man they were originally tailing, now holding the lead pipe of the man who struck her head. She charged him but despite his intoxication he still swung the weapon around with practised control. Bringing the pipe to her chest, halting her in her tracks. Asami felt the wind knocked out of her and as she attempted to retreat backwards he hit again across the side of her face leaving a cut below her right eye. After this she managed to roll backwards out of his range and three two fists in his direction, hitting only air. At the pinnacle of her attacks however her fists of earth flew from her hands, taking the man by surprise striking into his head twice. The first hit made him stumble back as the second connected squarely in his face knocking him to the ground and out cold. As the fists collided with their target, they crumbled to the ground along with the earth surrounding her feet as her Brutal Fist magic wore off.

Seika appeared to be fighting some enemies down an alleyway that Asami couldn’t see from her position. Counting the remaining combatants there were six left plus the ones in the alleyway and three were heading in Seika’s direction. Determined to repay the assistance that her partner had given her, Asami created a magic circle on the ground below herself raising her left hand as a football sized mound of earth ascended from the ground and upon reaching eye level her right hand collided with earth sending it hurtling through the air at one of the attackers moving toward Seika. As her Rock Throw magic hit the target in the side he was swept off his feet and with a thud hit an outside wall of the Demons’ Den, he managed to land on his feet but after a moment of swaying collapsed to the ground. “Seika! Two coming up behind you!” That was all she was able to do for her ally at this time seeing the last three opponents converging on her armed with broken bottles and one wielding a plank of wood she realised she had lost some sight in her right eye as the attack from earlier was swelling up.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Post by Ran 30th June 2020, 8:04 am

From somewhere in the area, Seika heard a cry of her name. Immediately, the mage whirled around, her eyes seeking out the source of the sound. She cursed her inability to tell exactly where it had come from. Over there, Aphelia's magic prodded the girl's eyes towards where Asami was fighting. Two behind her? Spinning back to check, she saw nothing there- Idiot! A broken bottle crashed down on Seika's shoulder, off to the side and a little behind her. Blinking in surprise, the mage stared at the man, who stared at the now even more broken bottle in his hand. "Um, I have a magic shield, so that won't work" she told him plainly, before flicking a handful of bubbles in his direction that blinded him and boiled away the flesh on his face painfully. The other Asami had been speaking about had yet to strike, and was currently staring at her with wariness, apparently unwilling to get any closer. The girl waved at him and flashed him a smile. Maybe if she was nice, he wouldn't attack! However, he seemed to be even more perturbed by her actions and suddenly turned tail and ran away. Pouting, Seika wondered if her smile really was that ugly. He obviously didn't want to be friends or anything like that.

There were still those ogres to take care of. Strictly speaking, they weren't really ogres, but instead... some other creature that the mage had forgotten the name of. Orcs, Seika. Right! That was it, orcs! Wow, Aphelia was so helpful. Seika loved Aphelia so much. Oh, right, the orcs. Better get on those. Staring at the nearest orc, the girl tried to give it at threatening glare but was unsuccessful in doing anything except making it a bit more confused as to why she was holding off on attacking. Finally, Seika actually made a move, throwing a handful of- chips??- at the orc's face. Aphelia mourned the loss of food as the girl took advantage of his extremely brief distraction to lunge at him, her skin glowing slightly. As soon as her fingers touched his skin, he hissed and backed away, the area still sizzling slightly as it continued to burn. Unsure of whether to touch it and wipe of- whatever she had smeared on it?- or to power through, the orc continued to take foot steps away, not ready to rush in and be burned. While he was trying to consider his options, Seika had already sent out a flurry of bubbles that hit him in the neck, shoving their way through and messing up what was going on there with the mini explosions of bubbles popping. He passed out, bleeding heavily and possibly going to die.

Unlike the human attacker from earlier, this second orc did not seem interested in running away just because of what had happened to his comrade. On the contrary, he hefted his club before charging towards her and bringing it down in a giant swing. Surprised at his speed, she barely managed to look up as he forced the weapon down on her head. Fortunately for herself, Seika already had shields up, and they absorbed the force of the blow before sending the energy careening back into his hand and up his arm with magic. Howling in pain, he pulled away, dropping the weapon as he clutched at the extremity. Seika just blinked at him, unconcerned, as Aphelia rolled her eyes. Idiot, she said yet again, and the girl glanced at her with betrayal. "You keep calling me an idiot! I thought I was doing well!" The feline snorted. Goes to show how much of an idiot you are, the cat said, before conceding, I actually was talking about that meat head, but you are an idiot too, don't worry. Still feeling petulant, Seika ignored her bond mate for now and glanced over to see how Asami was faring. She seemed to be a bit injured, so the mage sent a stream of sparks and light towards her, which would attempt to dissipate in the air around her, flowing into her wounds and mending any damage.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Post by Tuppen 30th June 2020, 6:07 pm

As the vision in her right eye was reduced Asami wasn’t sure how she should proceed, maybe fall back and stay on the retreat, waiting for an opening or perhaps Seika might defeat the goons approaching her and be able to assist. Her thoughts took too long however when one of the attackers on her right holding a broken bottle pushed forward swinging for her chest. She just managed to get out of the way but it wasn’t enough as her right forearm was sliced leaving an open wound and blood leaking out. Another attack came from above Asami as the wooden plank swung down towards her head, barely blocked by her crossed forearms. A scream of pain escaped from Asami as her arm wound was struck by the plank. This time seeing the attacker from the right coming up she rolled to her left ending up crouched in front of the attacker from her left. Her right leg swung low attempting to knock him off his feet. Asami smirked there’s the opening I was waiting for! Her Eyes widened as her leg failed to connect with her attackers legs, seeing him jumping above her outstretched leg lunging the broken bottle at her throat. She pushed from the ground with all four limbs attempting desperately to get out of the way of the attack. She felt another burst of pain come from her right arm as it began to tremble from the shock and pain. As her assailants attack missed she rose to her feet, her head was feeling faint now and she could feel the effects of losing so much blood.

Asami was quickly surrounded once again but she felt a wave of magic come over her and the pain in her arm and face began to fade. As her vision began to recover she knew now was the time to make sure this fight was over. Asami’s hands reached out to her sides and magic circles appeared on the ground below them she crossed her arms across her body as the earth below covered her in a hard shell. This didn’t appear to deter her opponents as the wooden plank struck hard into her left side, Asami didn’t even flinch. Using this opportunity to disarm her opponent she locked the plank in between her left arm and her body, pulling the weapon towards her. What she didn’t expect was the grip the man had on the plank as he came with the weapon, straight into a headbutt from Asami, as the hardened shell of earth collided with his head he fell straight to the ground. Wielding her new weapon Asami once again went for the leg sweep this time connecting, before her target had a chance to react the plank came down upon his back slamming him to the ground once again as splinters flew from both halves of the now broken wooden plank.

Turning to the last combatant she saw the fear in his eyes as a fight that seemed an easy victory against a wounded opponent had reversed within a matter of seconds. The shattering of glass sounded out as the broken bottle held as a weapon was dropped by the last man. He turned to flee seeing the mess of his friends lay out unmoving throughout the street, but as his feet went to move he found he went nowhere, now lifted in the air by the mound of earth that resembled a humanoid figure. Asami carried him towards where Seika was stood so that if she had anything to add she was able to. “Now, when your friends wake up, tell them that the vandalism, harassment and scaring of customers of the Black Cat Lounge stops now, or we will be back.” The earth protecting her crumbled to the ground as Asami dropped the man to the floor nearby Seika allowing the girl to speak with him herself after which she would instruct him to leave, expecting him to run.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Seika had forgotten about a crucial detail. Just because the second orc had dropped his weapon did not mean that he was... dropped? That he had been dropped. That he was down for the count! Something like that was an unlucky mistake, because when she turned her attention to Asami, the orc saw an opening. Lunging at her with its non damaged arm, the orc sent Seika flying across the area, crashing into a nearby metal fence. Despite the force of the blow, her shields had still protected her, but it was enough to knock her away like a rag doll. A little bit dazed from the sudden movement, Seika blinked as she slowly got to her feet. "That wasn't very nice," she commented, waving her finger at the creature scoldingly. "I was going to be nice to you until you did that! And, um, I am nice! Right Aphi?" The mage turned to her bond mate expectantly, wanting confirmation. In return, the cat glared at her in disgust. No, you're not, idiot. At that, Seika gasped dramatically before falling over in mourning. "Nooo! Aphi, you're supposed to agree with everything I say!" By now the ogre- er, orc, whoops- was looking more confused but also less frightened with every single second that passed by. He reached down and picked up his club. Meanwhile, Aphelia and Seika were still busily arguing.

When a heavy swing came down towards Seika's head, the orc expected it to hit and send the girl slamming into the ground or maybe again into the fence. He was in for a surprise when this time, it bounced back again, forcing his arm back with such force that it tore it apart. Yowling in even more pain than before, the orc shuddered and turned to run away when a stream of sparks from Aphelia impacted him in the side of his head, and his jaw, knocking him out cold. Seika got to her feet properly and pouted at the sight of the orc. "He was so mean! Anyway, where's Asami?" Just then, she saw her new friend approaching, surrounded by a lot of um... what looked like dirt? Seika rubbed her eyes in case they were hallucinating again. They did that sometimes! "Hi Asami! Ohh, that's one of the bad guys," she nodded sagely as the other mage dropped him on the ground. "Yeah, don't do bad stuff anymore! It's bad, Mister," Seika scolded him, waving her hands to emphasize her point. "Very bad! Um... if you do it again, then we'll do bad things to you! So there!" From there on, Seika became distracted by Asami. "Asami, are you okay? Did the mean people hurt you?"

That wasn’t exactly the intimidating threat Asami was expecting from her partner but the wreckage in front of the Demons’ Den would probably serve as a good enough reminder regardless. Asami tracked the quivering man with her eyes until he rounded a corner making sure he wouldn’t try anything else. Asami’s head hung low as she breathed a long relieved sigh. With the adrenaline now gone from her system she started feeling strange sensation in her right forearm, turning it to face her she saw the wound while still painful had been sealed. Responding to Seika’s question Asami looked at her with a smile on her face. “I’m going to be alright now, thanks to you. You really saved me back there. They got a nasty hit here.” Asami held her arm out to Seika where the previous wound was sealed and some blood still lingered on her forearm. “More importantly are you alright? I got so caught up in the fighting and lost sight of you for most of it.” She scanned her partner for any visible wounds but saw nothing critical, not that she would’ve been able to do anything about it anyway.

Asami looked once again at the now pot hole filled street. “I did say my magic causes a mess.” She attempted to use her magic to fill in what she could. By the end the holes were still there but people were much less likely to hurt themselves badly if they got caught in one. The strain put on her from the excessive use of her magic to move such a large amount of earth left her panting with her hands at her sides. "Well.. I guess we.. should.. get going..” The sensation in her head returned as she began to feel faint once again and dropped to her knees. “I should probably take it easy for a bit.” Realising how this might look to her friend she quickly added. “I’ll be alright, sorry if I worried you.” Asami spent a moment resting on the floor. “You’re really strong did you know?”

I did it. I did a job without you Ori, I don’t know why you left but I’m strong enough to look after myself so there! Asami filled with loneliness. I’m sorry Ori, I just miss you. Noticing she was still on the floor she got to her feet and if Seika hadn’t gone on ahead would say “Sorry, just thinking. Lets go hand in this job!” As she returned to her usual upbeat self. Otherwise running ahead to catch up to Seika if she had gone ahead without her.

Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami) Empty Re: Lucky Black Cat Lounge! (Seika, Asami)

Post by Ran 4th July 2020, 10:35 am

Seika beamed at her new friend. She had helped! That was the best thing to hear. "I'm glad that you're going to be fine!" Her fingers itched to wash away the blood on Asami's arm with a bit of magic, but she decided not to focus on that. Instead, smiling brightly at the other mage, she answered her question. "I'm perfectly alright! Thanks Asami!" Due to the nature of her magic, it had a lot of defensive elements. If Seika were to get hurt, she would probably die in like, one little smack. For that reason, it was important for her to avoid damage altogether, or to heal it extremely quickly and get out of that situation before anything else could happen. But, she was grateful that she could tell Asami that she was uninjured! The girl didn't want her new friend to worry at all.

Glancing in the same direction as Asami was looking, Seika stifled a laugh at the sight. Though she wasn't able to hold quite all of it in, as a few giggles slipped out. "Asami!" She finally said the other female's name, thinking she was done with the burst of amusement that had overtaken her. Unfortunately, as soon as she opened her mouth, an out pour of laughter exploded from her mouth, like from a dam that had been removed. "It looks good, don't worry!" Seika tried to reassure her friend, after realizing that she had filled in the holes. They weren't like, looking dangerous or anything, and really, they added character to the road! The mage liked them.

"Um hm, yeah, let's get going- wait, Asami? Are you okay?" She dropped to her knees next to the other girl, her eyes bright with concern. With how the other mage was acting, it seemed like she was tired. Maybe that was an understatement. Exhausted? Seika waved her hands frantically over the girl, hovering in the air a little ways away. "Yeah, take it easy for a bit!" She echoed, wondering if she should try to heal the other. But, maybe she didn't want healing; either way, Seika didn't want to mess with it if it was some side effect of that rocky magic. Just let her rest for a minute, Aphelia told her bond mate through their link. Seika nodded slightly, still staring at Asami, as if to make sure nothing worse was happening. After a few minutes, it seemed like she got back up. Ah... what was this?? Seika blinked in confusion. "Ah... thank you, Asami! I think you're really strong too, so... thank you for doing this mission with me!" She bowed her head respectfully to the older girl.

"Yes, let's go!" Seika would head back with the other girl, a bright smile on her face. She was so glad to have met the other as a job partner for this mission. Hopefully they could stay friends or work together another time soon. All that was left was to turn in the work that they had done, and tell it to Agil- it was just like Asami had said. With any luck, the vandalizers would never return. They had seemed scared, but, after a while of thinking, sometimes people made decisions they wouldn't have otherwise thought they could have the courage to do.
