Personality:  Life has been very easy for Akemi. Her family history is long and complicated but the short of it is that two generations ago her family split into two branches. Her grandfather received the estate, the money and the power, while the other side went to a temple or something. She was never certain and honestly to this day does not care. Being the oldest of three, she is first in line for the Kageyama family estate. With money unquestionably old, she is free to do as she pleases until her parents do something annoying like die. Until that time, she is free to do as she pleases.

Having never had to worry or want, she is used to getting literally everything that she asks for. As such, when it was revealed that she had the gift of magic, she demanded to be trained in the family secret arts which combines the summoning of ancient beings of imprisoned light and darkness along with the cruelty of sheer savagery. A ninja without morals or a samurai without bonds, the Kageyama family secret arts is forbidden for use except under the most dire of circumstances.

So of course she uses it whenever the hell she wants. After her master met an untimely demise (due to being murdered by her) she was left with a series of scrolls which would unlock additional skills of the magics she had learned the basics of. With nothing else to do but use them, she now ventures out to own the world she sees as hers. Maybe she’ll become an assassin. Maybe she’ll bully some kids. She really does not care. An important note: Throughout the world as she travels now, she wears a small glamour which masks her true appearance. Thus, she will not instantly be recognized as the Kageyama heir, letting her travel and play as she likes.

Likes:
• Weapons: If there is one thing that Akemi has trained herself in it is the usage and history of most weapons. With some study she can analyze the age and country of origin of most weapons. She’s also capable of identifying and spotting forgeries of ceremonial weapons, again, with some analysis.
  
  
• Harm: To say she is something of a masochist or that she’s a sadist is a little tame. She is a mixture of both, seeing pain as a way to convey any kind of emotion without restraint. If she is ever required to talk about feelings, it will be through hurting.
  
  
• Desserts: She’s a sucker for desserts, and demands the best of anything sweet that she eats. However in truth, she will settle for packaged convenience store brownies as long as no one sees her eating them.

• Pacifists: The weakest warrior is miles better than the strongest coward in her opinion. Someone willing to put their money where their mouth is and put their life on the line gets a modicum of respect. • Waiting: As mentioned before, she is the eldest child of a family that comes from old money. As such, to wait for anything is nonsense and will not be tolerated. If the things she wants are not brought to her on the silverest of platters, she reacts quickly and violently.

While she can write off mistakes or small errors occasionally, she personally feels that when it is time to shine, she had better. Therefore anything she is to be good at, she wants to be *great* at. • Independence: A motivation not acknowledged by Akemi relates to the other two motivations, which is her secret desire to be known as Akemi Kageyama, rather than Akemi of the Kageyama family. Personality:  In a world where those that can use magic, even the weakest kind, anyone who cannot is always going to be at a disadvantage. With a lineage of great mages going back generations, Kotomi Kadenkouji never felt as though she had the option of failure. Learning of her family’s importance at a young age, she stuck to a self-imposed pressure to be as talented as the rest of her bloodline. However, Kotomi never had the general skill with magic despite having the technical ability to produce it. She instead developed several workarounds for the type of magic she produces. Though a little untraditional, her style of magic nonetheless made her family proud. She became an above average student of particular note throughout her stay at Kingsley, although some of her unorthodox methods made it a bit difficult for her to attain favor in the eyes of all of her instructors. However, this was enough for that she grew into her own motto: If you can produce the same results, no one will care how you did it.

This is not to say that Kotomi is embittered by the events of her high school or was somehow brought low by the harsh realities of life. She is an optimistic, some would even call naive young woman. She believes that there are days of absolute right and absolute wrong, and the days will inevitably involve bloodshed. However she is aware of the murky middle and simply tries to keep herself away that area as much as possible.

Although she is off on her own now, fighting for the sake of her own notability and sense of right or wrong, she has never forgotten the importance of her family. Everything that she does bears the Kadenkouji name, and as her family is of importance in the magical community, she works hard to ensure that nothing she does brings dishonor to that family name.

Overall, however, Kotomi Ain’t That Deep Fam. She is a young, coltish woman who enjoys fighting mostly for the joy of it, and is willing to work as a mage in order to make her way through life, make a little coin and hopefully show that she’s capable of making a difference on her own.

Thus, a sucker punch (whether a physical punch or any other initial, off guard strike) is a coward’s move.
