    Code:
    Job: Break the Siege!
    Rank: D
Player Requirements: A minimum of two wizards of any rank.
    Solo Word Count: 500 Words
    Group Word Count: 1000 Words
Job Requirements: You must defeat the thirty bandits holding the small village of Quanny under siege.
Job Location: Small Village near the Ancient Ruins

Job Description: As you are walking along one day, you see a lowly looking man walking out of the town's law enforcement agency with a withdrawn and sad look on his face. You write it off as something minor, like he couldn't pay a ticket he owned, but as soon as you turn away, he looks up and sees you. The man is immediately stricken in awe by your majesty and power and hobbles over to you. The man proceeds to be for almost an hour for you to help him. After you finally give in and ask him what he wants, he then tells you about his village, Quanny Village, that is by the Ancient Ruins. He tells you that a large group of bandits has taken over his peaceful village and are using the citizens to excavate dangerous portions of the Ancient Ruins. He pleads for you to deal with the bandits. If you choose to agree, he will thank you and immediately take you to the village.

    Enemies:
Weak: Thieves. There are twelve of these individuals in total around the village. They can be found looting graves, homes, or anything that might seem to hold some value. They travel in pairs. They do not do much physical damage, however, they are quite fast and good at dodging. And they can whistle like nobodies business. They do not use magic. They attack with daggers.

Normal: Marauders. There are twelve of these individuals scattered around the village. There tends to be one Marauder with every pair of thieves, as the slow and clumsy Marauders who deal heavy melee damage use the thieves as their support so to speak. The thieves keep their target busy and the Marauder comes in for the kill. They do not use magic. They attack with powerful bronze knuckles.

Strong: Gunslingers. There are five of these individuals scattered around the village. They tend to go out on their own, but they're stronger than their counterparts in the fact that they are smarter. Ambushing them is difficult, and they use their Gun Magic to help them keep their enemies at bay. Their techniques consist of three spells:

Stun Shot: They shoot a single energy bullet at you, aiming for a critical spot on your body. If it lands, you will receive mild D-Rank damage, but be slightly disoriented for a post.

Gatling Shot: They shoot out ten energy bullets at you. If a bullet lands, you will receive mild D-Rank damage but the spot will sting for two posts.

Sniper Shot: They aim for your head this time, shooting once. If the attack lands, you will receive normal D-Rank damage, and will bleed a little for a post.

These enemies are very weak physically.

Boss:[/u] Scourge. Scourge is a C-Rank Fire Wizard. He is capable of throwing flames up to thirty feet away from his body, coat his body in flames for one post, and imbue his physical attacks with fire, leaving first degree burn damage. He is weak against water-based magics. If you do not want to fight him, he will take bribes, or simple shows of power will deter him as well. He is not nearly as smart as his gunslingers, but he is clever.

Note: You can only finish this mission if all thirty bandits are defeated. If you beat all the weak-rank bandits and roll the dice and still get weak-rank rolls, you can combine rolls to equal the rank of the bandit you are fighting.

Reward: Become the hero(es) of Quanny Village and will receive 5,000 jewel.

Quanny was a long way from the valley, and Sarah could feel the trip taking its toll on her when she arrived. The village was small, and didn't look like it had much in terms of places to sleep. "Okay, so all we have to do is chase out the guys that are giving you trouble, right? That doesn't seem like too much of an issue." Looking around, she could see that the village was in terrible condition, and felt for the people. She wanted to do this, not just for the reward, but also for them. The more she focused on that feeling, the less tired she felt. "One day, when I'm stronger, I'd like to change the world so that things like this don't happen." Sure, she was being naive, but she was determined to make it happen. She didn't want to see people being enslaved for any reason, and was all the more eager to get started on the job. She wanted to teach the people responsible for the scene in front of her that they couldn't do this and expect to get away with it. At least, not while she was alive. How could she see this, and not do anything about it? She couldn't. "I swear, on my honor as a member of the Aurora guild, that the people who did this will pay. They'll learn that they can't get away with pulling stuff like this." Sarah pumped her fist, and gave off a 100 watt smile, showing that she was ready to get started.

Break the Siege Empty Re: Break the Siege

Shane could see why the bandits had chosen Quanny as their base of operations. The small village was too far from the nearest town or city, and on foot, it had taken them more than an hour to arrive. It was evident enough from the job poster that the surrounding towns were not interested at all in the village and the disasters they carried. His blood stirred slightly as he thought of the injustice, but the silver-haired mage kept his calm. He still needed to figure out why the bandits had taken over this place. The client had mentioned using the villagers to excavate from the Ancient Ruins but hadn’t mentioned what.

Shane watched approvingly as Sarah voiced out. Her words displayed her conviction. And that very conviction was similar to the principles that he lived by.

“Then I guess you will find me supporting you from behind as you work towards that goal, Sarah,” Shane said with a smile, before looking up at the sky. It was already near evening. Turning back to the client, who had trudged back to the village with them, Shane asked, “Do the villagers get back after dark?”

The client, a man named Pony, shook his head bitterly.

“No… The bandits have forced them to camp in the ruins itself,” Shawry Pony said.

“Then bring us somewhere we can eat and rest for a little. We will strike near midnight.”

Shawry Pony nodded again and led the way to his house. He was a bachelor, in his early thirties. As the only one who had been away during the bandit raid, Pony was the only one left in the village.

“Please wait here while I prepare something for you guys,” the man said as he disappeared into the small kitchen.

Taking a look at the small house, Shane walked over to the round dining table and sat down on one of the stools.

Sarah followed Shane and the client to the client's home. She sat across from Shane, wondering how he could be so calm at a time like this. However, instead of causing a scene, she channeled her anger inward. When the client served the food, Sarah thanked him and started asking some questions of her own. "So, what about the bandits themselves? Do they also stay in the ruins?"

"No, they stay in town, and are usually keeping an eye out at night. Their boss is currently residing in our Elder's villa. He's a mage calling himself Scourge. He uses magic to burn those who resist, then he has his toughs beat them into compliance."

Having heard this, Sarah knew exactly what had to happen. She finished her meal, nodded to Shane, and pumped her fist once more on her way out the door. She couldn't wait for morning, she wanted to settle this now, and that was exactly what she was going to do as she marched towards the Elder's villa. The thugs seemed to be away from here as she entered and came face to face with Scourge.

"Oh, did the boys send you? They definitely know what I like."

Sarah didn't say a word as she walked right up to him, and hit him in the face with a right straight before settling into her fighting stance, and following up with a left hook.

"You... you bitch! Do you know who I am?! I run this operation!"

    "You talk too much."

She hit him with a liver punch, and followed with an uppercut, which grazed Scourge as he finally started to realize that he needed to dodge. Sarah barely avoided taking one of his spells at close range, but up close and personal was exactly where she fought her hardest. She hit him again with her liver punch, and followed with a left hook, which he narrowly avoided by backing up.

"Idiot, it will take more than simple brute force to take me down."

"Really? Because the way I see it, that's all I really need."

Once again, she was being naive, but it was full for the fire.

"Funny thing is, I do actually have a little magic."

Saying so, she raised her hand towards the sky, and a flame descended onto herself and Scourge.

"So, are you ready to give up? Because I can do this all day."

Scourge spat in Sarah's face, before punching her in the stomach, with his hand wrapped in flames.

"Don't kid yourself. You're not strong enough to take me by yourself."

Sarah smirked and hit him with several liver punches, finishing him off with a right hook. She tied him up, and threw him over her shoulder, wincing in pain as she touched her stomach. "Well, Luna's not going to be happy about that."

Break the Siege Empty Re: Break the Siege

Post by Shane Stern 24th February 2019, 8:06 pm

Before he could even finish his meal, Sarah had already run out the door, leaving Shane staring dumbly at her receding figure. Swallowing whatever was in his mouth, Shane let out a huge sigh with a shake of his head. The traces of a wry smile adorned his mouth. He put down the eating utensils on the table, and with a nod to the client, chased after Sarah.

“Wow, this girl can really give me a heart attack,” Shane said out loud. He saw her enter the village elder’s home and watched in amazement as no one obstructed her entrance. She entered just like, slamming the door behind her. And that was the trigger that got all the other bandits running towards the villa. Shane face-palmed, sighing again at the impetus of the young girl. He knew she could handle the leader of the bandits. So it was up to him to clear out the trash.

With a brandish of his arms, Shane held them out as wind began to circle around his arms in huge gusts. The moment the bandits came near, ignoring the ominous wind brewing with Shane in the center, the Demon Slayer spun around with his arms outstretched. The wind around his arms extended themselves outwards and spun along with him, forming a short-lived hurricane that swept up all of the bandits and tossed them away.

When the wind finally settled, there was no one left standing. The conscious ones, a large portion of them, were on either leaning against walls or fences, or lying on the ground, groaning and moaning. The unluckier ones were completely knocked out, unfortunate cases who had banged their heads when they fell.

Shane then went over to lean by the entrance of the elder’s house and wait for Sarah to come out with her prize. The trip here had taken more effort than the job itself.
