The chaos mage watched with an apathetic gaze as the Fallen God Slayer was assaulted by his magic. He could sense the internal struggle, and feel his magic threatening to take the life of the other mage. Suddenly however, he watched as slowly the other man realized what must be done. All at once he watched his magic die down, folding in on itself and dimming until all at once it was consumed by the other mage.

Markus raised an eyebrow as the force driven mage looks at him, the man was fully enveloped in the power. It was impressive looking at a power so much like Markus’ own force, yet so distinctly different. He could feel the power radiating from the mage and watched as he man struggled to move. Suddenly however, within the blink of an eyes Markus watched as the man vanished from view, moving as such a speed he was suddenly next to the large perpetrator of this attack. Immediately the chaos mage raised his hand and summoned a barrier around the four mages, front of the guild hall, and the remaining army. Solid black in color it would hide all within from prying eyes. Markus knew well how hard it was to control what was to follow. He would stand passively, unmoving, as the sequence of events continued.

He gave a deep sigh the destruction would be expensive to replace, but better than lives. However, what was to follow needed to be kept from the citizens of Magnolia. No one needed to see a Fairy Tail mage act as such, and even more so the chaos mage knew Mythal would have questions. Markus watched as the Fallen God slayer slowly returned to normal, shadows leaving his body in a very physical and noticeable way. Markus however kept the barrier up… he probably should have done that much sooner.

Looking about the chaotic nature of his gaze would die down, the light in his eyes would fade, and the tightness of his muscles would loosen. His wings vanished but the shredded remains of his shadow robes remained loosely on his body. The blood on his chest and arms would slowly fade as his body healed itself. Looking about he noticed a few cuts and scrapes on Serilda, and quite a bit of damage to the Fallen God Slayer. Waving his hand through the air a pulse of chaotic energy would surge forward overcoming all allies within.

Unlike his normal magic, this took much more concentration but as the magic swept over the group his allies would find their wounds closing, and their stamina restored as his magic healed their bodies. Markus himself was back to his full essence, his wounds having closes completely between his last use of magic and his bodies natural inclination to heal itself. For a brief second Markus looked towards Nessa, but he said nothing unsure how to address what she would have seen. In the end, he looked away without saying a thing.

Only then did the chaos mage walk forward and place his hand upon the shoulder of the Fallen God slayer. When he spoke all traces of Chaos, or the other female voice would have vanished. “That my friend was Slayer Force. Remember what it felt like… the first time is always the worse.” Markus’ hand would glow slightly and when he removed it a slight hand shaped impression would be left. Mythal would feel a cold chill, but the rest of his wounds would heal as Markus reverted the damage, he caused the man with his attack.

Turning to the other mages Markus addressed the two females. “Apologies. Are you both okay?” He asked passively, his voice without emotion but his exhaustion obvious. Glancing at Serilda and Mythal, as the only two still undressed, he gestured towards the barrier. “That will not last long, if you want to regain some modesty? Then we can talk…” Markus himself was dressed only in a now ragged black cloak. To be honest he did not care, but the guild did have a reputation to uphold.

Nessa had just about managed to hold her magic in place. Feeling the earth manipulated by her Varja, crushed under the force of Mythals blows as they rippled into Santa mercilessly. All she could do was continue to hold Santa in place, making sure he could not run nor escape the attacks. She heard the crack, wincing at the unpleasant sound. There was no doubt, Santa was done. She watched as Mythal returned to normal, she took a steady breath, that had been intense to witness. She spun the Varja in her palm, and the earth she had manipulated slowly returned to normal. She turned to the buildings that had been damaged during the fight. She felt the intense wave of magic fall over her, as she slowly piece by piece, rebuilt the buildings back to the state they originally were. She could feel Markus's magic healing her, the bruising that had begun to appear on her body quickly faded under the clothes she wore. Once satisfied that the area around them had returned to the state it had been when they had started. Nessa allowed her Varja to return to Valhalla. She turned to Tiphane and Lucinda. "Thank you, girls, I mean it, you were a big help." She said to them softly. Lucinda giggled, "Anytime gurl, that was a hell of a lot of fun, don't be a stranger okay?" She chirped happily; then her body would twist into a spiral of flames before vanishing completely as the Fire Valkyrie returned to Valhalla. Tiphanae, however, didn't look as pleased; she stepped up to Nessa.

"Nessa Lux..." she began, concern in her eyes, Nessa looked away. "It happened again didn't it?" Nessa knew she was going to ask that. Nessa couldn't meet her gaze; she felt shame fill her as she nodded. It almost happened. This underlying darkness buried inside her, the thing she had been ignoring for a while now. She hadn't quite brought herself to deal with it yet. The fact it had been quiet for a while, had led her to the hope that she got a control over it. But that wasn't true, she sensed it. With her, it only grew more powerful, feeding off her. If it hadn't been for Arielle, who knew what she would have done. Maybe turned on them again, maybe even turned on her guildmates. Tiphanae could see the turmoil in the girl's expression, sighing, she decided not to push the matter. "We shall discuss is another time." She said softly, the air around her picked up, like a small whirlwind it surrounded Tiphanae. The Valkyrie disappeared into it, and as the wind settled once more. She was gone, having joined her sister in Valhalla.

Nessa would sigh, moving over to the pile of clothes Tiphanae had brought; she scooped them up. Heading over to Serilda, she offered the girl something to wear. She would then turn to Mythal, offering him something too. Although she would avoid looking at him as she did so, the last thing she needed right now was to see her mentee's bits and bobs. She turned away, regardless of whether they accepted or not. She turned to Markus; fortunately he was sort of covered now, so he didn't need anything to wear. She caught his question and looked away. Was she okay? Yeah, sort of, she was healthy. But that didn't make up for all the other stuff she was feeling. There had been that voice again, that female voice in Markus. The one that had spoken to her when they were dealing with the Clockwork beasts. Something about it, made her feel uneasy. Plus there was the fact; she had been humiliated, completely exposed to the group, including Markus in a way she never expected she would have to deal with. And to add salt to the wound, she had almost lost it, once again.

She would hand the bundle to Markus, "Consider them a replacement for what you lost today." She said, before walking past him. "I'm heading inside," There was an unspoken invitation that followed it. She didn't want to be outside anymore; she was tired and a little more emotional than she'd like to be. She pushed open the door and heading over to the bar, Arielle and Sebastian quickly followed after her. She sighed, despite of her history with alcohol, she would order. "Can I get a rum and cola?" She slid onto and barstool, and waited to see if the others would join her or not.

"Character counts most when duty calls."

Before she did anything else, Serilda looked around for her hound. The wolf came trotting over to Serilda proudly with a gnarled, dead elf in her jaws around its neck. Her muzzle was coated with blood, but with the battle clearly over Xiuhcoatl only wagged her tail energetically like this had all been nothing more than a training simulation. Serilda coaxed the animal to drop the mangled corpse and checked her over for any injuries. Even as she did this, she felt a pulsation of magic as her wounds began to heal. A quick glance up told her it had been Markus who had provided the medical aid.

Once she was sure that Xiuh was fine -- and, of course, once she had softly adorned the animal with quiet words of affection and affirmation -- Serilda stood and faced the others. Despite the fact that the danger was over, she still carried herself for all the world like she was wearing clothing. It certainly wasn’t idea, and the proper young woman in her was screaming to get herself into some clothing, but it would not do for her to tremble and squirm about it. Doing so would besmirch her noble name much more than composed nudity would, so she masked her insecurities behind an even expression while listening to the two Slayers speak to one another.

“I am fine, thank you,” she told Markus kindly when he asked. He motioned toward the barrier that temporarily kept them out of view of the public, and Serilda noticed the pile of clothes that one of Nessa’s celestial creatures had brought. She nodded in affirmation, but before going over to the clothes she walked over to Mythal.

Standing close to him like she barely even noticed he was naked, Serilda’s blue eyes caught his crimson ones and searched them for a moment, her free hand reaching up and gently resting on his shoulder. “You okay?” she asked him quietly, though not necessarily so low that the other two wouldn’t be able to hear. Whatever that Slayer Force thing was, it had obviously been intense. As per her usual theme, she seemed far more interested in making sure that he and Xiuh were taken care of before seeing to her own needs.

Once she’d received an affirmation one way or another, she’d ultimately make her way over to the pile of garments that had been brought for them and pulled out a pair of pants, a top, and a pair of sandals that all appeared to be relatively her size. Setting down her holy scimitar, she calmly dressed herself. Serilda was quite thankful to have clothes on again, despite how cool her mannerisms seemed, so she turned to Nessa once she was clothed. “Thank you for these,” she told the other woman gratefully. “I’ll be sure to give them to Mythal later, so he can return them to you.”

When Nessa made to move them all inside, Serilda collected her sword and gave her friend another glance to make sure he’d gotten everything he needed before following them in. Xiuh trotted happily at her heels until they got to the bar, where she took a seat next to the other woman -- after a curious glance around the interior of the guildhall, of course. The wolf laid down comfortably on the ground by her feet. When the person attending the bar asked if she wanted anything, Serilda said, “Any kind of red wine you have would be wonderful, thank you. Might I also trouble you for some water and food for my hound..?”

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

Mythal had never felt this level of magical power before.

It was astounding; no, that wasn’t the right word. It was terrifying. All at once, his own magical pool inside of him had shot up into levels he had never dared dream. He felt connected to every part of him like he had never been before, aware of his surroundings, aware of the darkness that surrounded them on all sides. It was a palpable organism that he could almost reach out and touch, grab at with his fingers and manipulate as he wished. Yet he hadn’t; choosing instead to compile all of his own internal magic into one hell of an attack. He’d used that spell only once before but it hadn’t felt like that. Nothing ever had.

The God Slayer took a couple of leveling, relaxing breaths to ease his anxiety. When his skin began to crawl, he jerked and looked down at the location, surprised to find his wounds beginning to mend. It took a moment for his magical senses to right themselves and sense that it was merely Markus’ own magic tending to him. He looked down at his hands, turning them over and noticing the blood knuckles in place of his normal flesh. Was it his blood? Was it Santa’s? He didn’t even really know, though there was a slight stinging sensation over them, meaning his skin was knitting together.

He very nearly spin and swung at Markus, if only because he was still on edge. His head jerked to see the other wizard, his eyes wide as he listened to the man’s explanation. Slayer Force; what the hell was that? He’d never heard of such a thing, nor had he ever evoked such a powerful ability from himself before. Apparently his reaction wasn’t without cause; Markus said it was always terrible the first time. He scoffed, as if to say ‘no kidding’. There was a coldness that resonated throughout his shoulder as Markus pulled his hand away, more of his injuries healing at a higher rate.

Being naked was the farthest thing from his mind at the moment. His panicked breathing had seemingly settled down as Serilda came over to him. His eyes immediately registered her, the crimson orbs dilating as he met her cool blue gems. “Yeah I… think so,” he said, finally breaking his daze to look down at himself. At this point, the only suffrage he felt was the aches from some of the hits he took – and even those were beginning to wane. Now that his mind could wrap around the idea, he was starting to settle down to his normal self. He flexed his hands and they attempted to slip into his pockets… only to find that there were none.

    Right. He was naked.

Nessa offered them replacement clothes for what they had lost and he was more than happy to take them. This was just a bit too much exposure than he was used to. He took the pants and sandals and put them on quickly. The top… wasn’t going to quite fit him so he grabbed a jacket and draped that over his shoulders, leaving his chest bare for the most part. He followed the rest of them inside, taking a moment to look back from where they had come. Then finally he entered the building.

He didn’t even pretend he was going dry tonight. He walked right behind the bar and grabbed the closest bottle from the high shelf. He snatched a glass and poured out the liquid into it, right to the brim. He waved away the person tending bar, letting them know he had the four of them. It was clear he knew his way around the Fairy Tail bar by now, as he grabbed and mixed the drink for Nessa and slid it to her and very neatly followed up with a wine glass filled with red wine for Serilda. If Markus asked for anything, he would pour it out for him as well. Once they were all set, he leaned against the bar from the inside and set his gaze on Markus. “So… Slayer Force. The hell is that?”

Markus cocked his head, with his enhanced senses he could hear the conversation, the quite voices of his companion and her summon. Looking into space the chaos mage was listening without looking as Nessa spoke with her Valkyrie. Something about a recurring issue,  Markus thought he could hear some concern from the Valkyries voice. Looking slightly towards the two, even from Markus’ position, he could see a tightness to her shoulders, even if he could not see her face. Whatever it was she did not want to dwell upon it, and when the winged female let it drop, Markus decided it was time for him to find something else to do.

He watched passively, patting Hela upon her shoulders as the other two mages spoke to one another. In the end Markus turned away, he was not one for such social awkwardness, in truth he would rather be fighting naked again, much less awkward than the social situation that was to follow.

Taking a breath as he realized Nessa was headed towards him and glanced in her direction. She did not answer his question, and looked away from him. When she handled him the bundle he would look into her eyes, there was much he wanted to say. In the end he merely nodded. “Thank you,” He said, truly meaning the words he spoke. He ended up putting on a black tunic, it was older design and sleeveless, perhaps something you would see on a northerner. He actually liked it, if he was being honest. As she walked away, stating her intentions to head inside. He sighed and followed.

In the end, he was glad they were okay, despite the embracement no one was damaged, and none of the citizens were harmed. It was a strange attack, and had no were near the power needed to take on a guild. As he sat with the other mages, he reached over the bar and grabbed a glass, placing it right next to Mythals. “Same please.” He said simply, his voice passive and his tone simple. Hela sat herself at his feet, usually she would have already returned to his shadow, however the other wolf had her attention.

As Mythals eyes fell upon him, Markus looked back at the other slayer. Then he spoke Markus first took a drink, looking at the other mages within range. He did not enjoy talking about himself, and no other person, not even Nessa, really knew what his magic entailed. This conversation was going to involve far more than he wished to speak about.

“Slayer Force… It is, hard to explain. You, like me were touched by another being. Something… powerful.” He said starting out. “It can be a Dragon… a God… or something else. In the end, it does not matter what the power comes from. Besides, you already know this.” He only spoke about slayers because he was unsure of the other two mages knowledge, though him and Mythal had already learned of the others abilities. “Those with the ability of a Slayer can use that magic to enter a special state of heightened power. You must consume elements of the being your magic is bound to, but if you take enough into yourself it activates this power, and floods your body with magic. You will find your mana reserves are depleted at a rapid pace, but… as you saw you are capable of… powerful things.”

For a brief moment Markus looked towards Nessa. He wondered if she would associate his display of strength that day as his own force, when he had consumed one of her own spells, one which was changed by his magic. Looking back towards Mythal he spoke again. “That is pretty much all there is to it, unfortunately I am not an expert on magic theory.”

He then addressed the entire group, his voice passive if not guarded. “Any questions?”, he already had a pretty good idea of what kinds of questions to expect, but he would keep to himself until asked.

Nessa heard the footsteps behind her, and after sliding onto the barstool, she would watch idly as she was joined by the others. Serilda slid into the seat next to her, Markus would join them on this side of the bar. They seemed to accept her offering of clothes, which was a relief. At least now the four of them maintain there dignity, and it took away the discomfort of looking at them all whilst they were naked. If only she could have prevented it from happening in the first place, Nessa had never dreamed that she would be force to expose herself in such a way, not to any of them. Now, Serilda, Mythal and Markus had all seen her in a manner that made her feel a little vulnerable. Just anothing thing to add to her unnease. Plus, it wasn't just there, there were other factors too. There had been onlookers outside when it happened. Who knew how much was seen. In her head Nessa was already compiling a list of things to do. First of all she would need to call Sorano and tell her what happened. She wasn't sure how the young Guild Master was going to react to that, being naked outside the guild wasn't exactly appropriate behaviour for guildmembers. She couldn't imagine how it would make Fairy Tail look, there reputation had been clawed back a great deal as of recently. Especially after the success of the Fairy Festival, she couldn't imagine how this could be spun positively for them. But then again they hadn't been naked by choice, they had been handling some bizarre threat. Nessa would need to write up a report no doubt, it would probably be worth trying to find out if there were any other incidents. Then there was the checking of any lacrima camera's in the air, she was sure Fairy Tail probably had their own. She need to collect whatever footage of them she could, and destroy it. Before Sorceror Magazine managed to get  hold of it, the last thing she needed was her naked figure plastered all of the most popular magazine in Fiore. How would her father react? No, she would handle this quickly and discreetly. For her sake and the guilds.

Mythal seemed to decide against joining them where they were sat and instead decided to move behind the bar, taking it upon himself to pour the drinks. She understood, he probably felt the need to do something normal after that ordeal. There was a moment of awkward silence, where not much was said aside from what people wanted to drink. The guild was relatively quite today, aside from the staff, and the wisps. Not much was going on, which only seemed to add to the strangeness of the moment they were in. Glass of rum and cola now in front of her, Nessa curled her fingers around the glass, before picking it up and bringing it to her lips. Taking a sip, it was sweet and sugary flavour of the cola combined with the slightly harder tang from the rum. She put the glass down, resisting the urge to knock it back whole, she didn't intend to become silly as she had before. She just needed this to steady herself, to remove the heat of humiliation she still felt. Something to help her push those feelings away, so she could focus once more on what was actually important.

Mythal addressed it first, asking about Slayer force. Her immediately reaction, was to look at Markus. Nessa hadn't heard nor seen Slayer Force before, at least she didn't think she had. She had seen Dragon Force, because of Arcadia. She could only assume that the nature of it was simular. She would listen as Markus went on to explain the nature of, saying nothing as he talked about the way Slayers worked. Nessa had to admit, although she had some understanding about Slayers. Having it cleared up for her was useful. She saw his glanced at him, consuming someone's magic. Was that what that was? But if that was the case, didn't Markus use Shadow? How could Shadow be allowed to consume light? She wanted to ask, but now didn't seem the time, they were addressing Mythal's concerns right now. So she kept quiet.

"Character counts most when duty calls."

Somehow, Serilda was not surprised to see that Mythal had at least made himself at home enough in their guild to be able to just work behind the bar without the regular staff caring. As they all descended into the common area, he walked right into the back and nabbed a bottle off the top shelf, pouring its contents into a glass all the way to the top. Serilda raised a brow slightly but said nothing. This truly was the first time she’d ever see him pour a glass for himself outside of moderation -- and outside of battle, which was a totally different thing for him -- despite his claim that he was a drunk.

But frankly, he’d earned a tall drink… even if it was a very tall drink. He poured her some wine, already knowing that kinds she preferred, and then got drinks for the others. As he did, Mythal asked Markus about Slayer Force and Serilda listened with quiet interest to the explanation that followed. During this time, someone did kindly bring some water and food for Xiuh, who happily partook of both before laying back down -- closer to Hela, this time, so she could sniff the other wolf and further make her acquaintance.

Serilda, being one to look people in the eyes when talking with them, did not miss the quick glance Markus gave the two women. She had seen that look before in Mythal, who similarly did not enjoy talking about his magic to too many people. The only reason Serilda herself had found out about it was because he’d invoked a spell on one of their first jobs that actually used a more traditional verbal incantation and gave away his magic style.

It seemed that Markus used a similar magic, and because of that he was able to coach Mythal a bit on aspects of it that her friend wasn’t really aware of yet. Serilda didn’t show any signs of surprise through most of it, as she was already fully aware of how Mythal attained his powers, but she did listen with interest. It was a fairly simple explanation, one that didn’t really need too much expanding upon.

She hummed thoughtfully and sipped from the wine glass. “So it essentially puts your magic into overdrive.” Serilda pondered the implications for a moment, swirling the wine in the glass a bit to aerate it and let it breathe. “I can definitely see the convenience and usefulness of it, but it also sounds pretty risky if it eats through your reserves so quickly…”

The woman kept her voice discreetly low, knowing Mythal didn’t really enjoy talking about his magic and sensing that Markus was the same. She had no way of knowing, of course, that this conversation would wind up being more than a little relevant to herself one day soon -- otherwise she may have had more questions. For now she simply voiced her thoughts on it and left it there, curious to see what Mythal would make of it.

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

Markus seemed privy to the same alcoholic tastes as Mythal, offering his own glass and requesting the same of him. The God Slayer brought the bottle over and poured him a hefty amount as well before returning it back to the shelf. Then it was time to get some answers and it seemed Markus was the only one who could provide them. The explanation was swift and fairly easy to understand – he had taken Faera’s magic for himself decades ago and, as such, he had made it his own. He could consume magic that was similar to his; yet another fact he knew, having had plenty of shadow and dark attacks aimed at him over the years. But apparently by consuming vast amounts of the element, it would activate the power he had just been slave to minutes ago. It was like kicking his abilities and strengths to new heights, rapidly pushing him to levels he normally wouldn’t achieve alone. The drawback for it was that his magical reserves were drained quickly and in almost entirety. It was like opening a faucet to full blow – the strength of the stream was impressive but it quickly drained the core of the flowing element.

It was simple and yet complicated, all at the same time. Activating new levels was one thing but it had changed him. His skin had been pitch black along runic symbols appearing on his body. It was less a boost in power and almost a full blown transformation. He’d heard of a few creatures that were capable of changing their forms to increase their power but him being human seemed less than likely to be something he could achieve. Yet tonight had proven him wrong. Serilda commented on the information, stating that while the power was impressive, the exchange could make its utilization risky, at best. “Definitely not somethin’ you want to activate on a whim,” he said with a raise of his glass, bringing it back to his lips and swallowing the liquid down.

He leaned against the bar, his head shaking from side to side slowly. “For years I’ve lived with this damn magic and never once did I think to research it,” he said, scoffing at the thought. “I rarely used it when I traveled, havin’ only really dipped into it once I joined the monastery. Even then, I used it more like a battery for my fists than anythin’ else.” He raised his hand slowly, looking it over carefully before squeezing it shut into a fist. He raised his eyes to Markus. “I guess I should say thanks for the crash course,” he quipped as he raised his glass once more to the man, cheering him.

After knocking back another mouthful of the alcohol, he sighed. “Well this certainly ain’t the way I wanted this night to go. Just my luck when I try to do anythin’ polite or modest for myself.”

Markus had kept a watchful eye on the group as he spoke, he was not usually the center of such attention, in fact on almost every occasion he had avoided the idea entirely, talking about his magic, his life… hell, just talking in general was generally avoided by the chaos mage.

Taking a breath his eyes slid over Nessa who had remained quiet, looking back at him as he spoke. He however did not keep her gaze long, as Serilda spoke he would turn to her. “Yes, that is the essence of the force. Though its name varies, it is all the same… mostly. Dragons call it ‘Dragon Force’, Demon name the power ‘Demon Force’, and so on. My magic does not quite fit within those categories, hence why I just refer to it as ‘Slayer Force’. It is certainly as, if not more, dangerous than it is useful. However, I felt within the safty of Magnolia, against an enemy that couldn’t do much more than embarrass us, that it was a safe risk.” Markus said, his voice passive and emotionless, as if his choice was logical and he held no regrets. The truth was, he did not regret his decision, although Mythals force had certainly be more… spectacular, than the others the chaos mage had seen, it is a necessary ability all slayers should know how to tap into.

Markus would slide his gaze to Mythal as the other slayer spoke. Markus kept his gaze and brought his drink to his lips listening. “No,” The chaos mage said with a small grin, “at least, not till you have perfect mastery over your magical essence and can gage correctly when to let go of the power.” Markus finished. When Mythal went on to speak about research Markus would nod. The truth was, Markus had his abilities for years, and used them regularly. Yet, it was not until Aporia had made herself known that he had learned of even a portion of what they were capable of. He still could remember his first introduction to such power, when his mind had almost killed him. When, somehow, Sorano had shown herself in his dreams, and calmed his rage, his fear. The chaos mage had still not thanked the guild master, and in fact he was not entirely sure if it was really her, or a figment of his deranged mind.

When the other man thanked him, Markus would only offer a slight nod, lift his glass, and hold his gaze for just a moment longer than would be required. Truth was, he knew the strain the man might be going through. If the man needed anything or wished to train more. Markus was here. Though, he felt no need to voice such talk out loud. After all, what girl wanted to hear that the men actually tried. Markus once more found himself adopting a false smile as Mythal spoke up.

“Guess we should know better, eh…” The chaos mage would look down for a brief moment. “Guess some people are not meant to go good. Though, that does not mean we can not salvage at least some of this meeting.” Markus said downing the rest of his glass and placing it in front of Mythal, waiting for a refill.

Nessa listened quietly as the conversation went on. In the meantime, Sebastian climbed up onto the counter. Plopping himself down next to her, he would lean over and sniff her drink. Wrinkling his nose, he decided against it. "Yo Fists-of-fury, can I get a glass of milk?" He asked Mythal nonchalantly, earning an eye roll from Nessa. It seemed that the strange atmosphere that lingered around her at the moment didn't really affect the exceeds mood. In fact, if anything he seemed rather perky. Most likely due to the fact, he'd actually got to partake in a fight today. He had been arguing with Nessa for the longest time about her hesitation on taking him along to jobs she considered 'dangerous'. Which was why she had brought him out today in the first place because this little 'get-together' wasn't supposed to be dangerous. If anything, it should have been 'risk-free'. Yet here they were, having fought out a horde of Christmas Monsters. This wasn't a turn out she would have predicted on a day like today.

Nessa would glance between each of them as they spoke, Serilda seemed to summarise it pretty well. Earning a break down from Markus about the different types of 'forces'. As Mythal spoke about how he hadn't sought to research the magic before using it, Nessa brought her drink to her lips. She really didn't know what to say at this moment. How could she help in this situation? Her magic was completely different and her knowledge about other magic she had only learned through her experience as a Fairy Tail mage. It seemed better to let Markus explain, seeing as this actually seemed to be his area of expertise more than anything.  She would stay quiet until the conversation moved on to a different topic or at least something she could contribute to.

At least that had been her intention.

But as Mythal made her last remark about his lack of luck in attempting to do something polite. Nessa swallowed her sip, she was about to say something, but Markus spoke. Bringing her glass down, her eyes narrowing as she listened to his words. Some people are not meant to go good. Something about that comment brought her back to a conversation they had four months ago. That first job she had ever done with Markus when he had killed those Fairy Hunters. She felt annoyance rise to the surface, fueled by th unsettled feelings she felt. Had he really not changed in all this time he'd been gone? Did he really still think this way?

"What..." She began, her tone sounded less than pleased, she turned her gaze to him. "Are you actually serious right now? I'm sorry, did I get hit on the head a little too hard out there or did we just stop an attack from a bunch of monsters that could have seriously harmed or killed the members of the public?" She snapped sharply; she knew she might be being a little harsher than necessary. But this had come from Markus, and that bothered her.

"Ness-" Sebastian began, knowing full well that the girl was about to go on a tangent, only to be interrupted abruptly by the Starlight Maiden.

"You know, yes it sucks that today didn't go as smoothly as we planned, but sometimes as a mage that's how it goes. I personally feel like we've gained a lot out of today, we aided in the protection in the people of Magnolia, and quite frankly I think we did a pretty good job. There's no lasting damage to the area and you!" She turned her gaze from Markus to Mythal, continuing her rant without even pausing for breath. "And at least now you know this element to your magic you didn't previously know about. So how about enough of this moping around feeling awkward cause honestly I'm over it. We came here to have a nice day right, so now we're past this little hiccup, how about we do just that? Mythal, grab the Tequila, and pour four shots." She ordered in a firm tone. Turning in her chair, she would turn her gaze to Serilda, her hard expression relaxing into a smile. She would take a breath, sighing, she relaxed slightly before addressing the Sabertooth mage.

"Okay, let's carry on with what we were supposed to be doing. Which was getting to know each other right? So, Serilda you and Mythal know each other well right. Have you been friends for a long time?" She asked, attempting to steer the subject into a much more neutral direction. Not only that, she actually really did want to get to know the girl Mythal brought along. So far she seemed really nice, and actually pretty solid job partner too. Nessa just hoped somehow they might be able to salvage today, even if it meant getting a little alcohol involved. It would be fine, she was pretty close to home. Which meant the likelihood of her ended up in a hotel again was slim, plus Sebastian was here. He would keep her out of trouble, hopefully.

"Character counts most when duty calls."

Serilda smirked a little at Mythal’s sarcastic comment about the evening falling apart during one of the few times he’d actually tried to do something sociable. It was a cynical comment, but an amusing one -- which was generally the man’s humor. She’d grown used to it by now. Markus made his own reply following up with it, and Serilda honestly didn’t think much about it until Nessa spoke up.

The young woman had not been amused by the comments, which made Serilda wonder if she had taken them as cynical jokes when they weren’t intended to be such. Nessa chastised both men right then and there, barreling right past her Exceed’s attempt to calm her down. The noblewoman could only watch with controlled but wide eyed bewilderment at the display, getting the feeling that perhaps there had been more to Markus’ comment than she had originally read. Nessa had seemed to take it personally and wasn’t going to stand for the mentality.

Ultimately, Serilda tried to busy herself by looking just about anywhere but the three of them and awkwardly taking another sip or three from the glass of wine in her hand. She was a visitor here, and none of this was really her business, so she just tried her best not to get caught up in it. By the end of the chastising, Nessa instructed Mythal to pour each of them a shot of tequila. Serilda’s mouth was full of wine at the time and she quickly swallowed it in an attempt to decline the shot, since she didn’t really drink much hard liquor, but then the attention got turned back to her quicker than she was prepared for.

She choked a little on the drink in surprise, mostly covering it up though she wasn’t able to perfectly hide having been caught off guard by such a quick topic change after a rather uncomfortable moment. At the very least she suppressed her need to cough, calming her throat enough to at least swallow the wine with some dignity so she could answer.

“We know each other well enough, I suppose,” was the first comment that left her mouth. As soon as she said it she realized it was a bit of a vague comment that could be taken as a disinterest in the friendship, so she cleared it up in answering Nessa’s second question. “We’ve really only known one another for a couple months. We were hired by the same client to work a small job a while back, and then were assigned another job in Desierto together later by the Magic Council. They liked the results we got so they kept assigning us to the same jobs. Eventually we figured it was just easier to start doing other jobs together as well, since we already knew we could rely on one another.”

Serilda didn’t really get into the details of the fact that she and Mythal had not gotten along at all for their first few jobs, nor that their friendship had very nearly fallen apart not too long ago from a bad mixture of stress and miscommunication. If it came up later, or if Mythal brought it up, then that was fine but for now it didn’t really seem like an appropriate thing to mention. Nor was would it be appropriate to mention the methods the two of them had utilized to, erm… hash out their differences when they’d had them. So she left such comments out as well, making no indication with her tone or her body language to suggest that she and Mythal had slept together on numerous occasions already by this point.

“What about you?” she asked politely, turning the question back on the three of them. Or well, at least on Markus and Nessa, though Mythal might choose to speak up in response anyway. “I was a bit surprised when he invited me to come meet some of his guildmates. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if he had any other friends.” Serilda shot Mythal a slight, teasing smirk, a twinkle of mirth in her eyes. It wasn’t exactly a secret that he wasn’t the most social creature in the world, and honestly all three of them had probably been shocked at the proposal of this meeting. “How long have the two of you been with Fairy Tail?”

    Re: After Christmas Special

Post by Mythal Ragnos Yesterday at 8:21 pm

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

Fists of fury – that was a new one.

Mythal stared at the Exceed for a solid moment before he snorted a half-laugh and shook his head in amusement. But that didn’t stop him from bending down and reaching into the mini-fridge beneath the bar, pulling out a glass jug of milk. As Markus continued to explain the intricacies of the magic he had accessed only a bit ago, the God Slayer poured the cat a glass of milk and passed it over to him. “Careful not to go too crazy,” he remarked to Sebastian teasingly before he settled his gaze back on the group before him. It was right about then that Markus was commenting about the fact that some people couldn’t ‘go good’. It had been a follow up about his cynical joke and, though he wasn’t sure if it was meant to stay within the same thread, he still scoffed a laugh.

But apparently both of their words had incensed Nessa. Her harsh, virulent gaze turned to the Chaos wizard first, her tone as sharp as a knife as she tore his thought process to shreds and left it bleeding on the ground. Based solely on how offended she had gotten, Mythal had only assumed this had something deeper to do with them. He knew very little of their past beyond the fact that there was some of past there. He stared with raised brows as the Starlight Maiden went at him and was about to take another sip from his drink when her attention turned to him.

Though she didn’t necessarily get mad at him for anything he had said in particular, she was clearly done with the downtrodden attitude they brought to the table. She explained, in full detail, just exactly what they had accomplished and gained that night. Protecting the town, saving innocent lives, more information about themselves – it was practically a storybook ending when one stopped to think about it. And at the end of it all, she demanded that four shots be poured of tequila for all of them and then turned her attention to Serilda, now taking the part of quizzer.

Rightfully, he should have just gone ahead and done as she ordered without so much as a sound. But the mixture of her words, tone and the sudden near-choking of Serilda broke him apart and soon he was laughing. It would probably be an odd thing to see from the group of them, as he was almost always fairly evenly emotional and yet here he was, cackling like he’d heard the best damn joke in his life. As he eventually calmed down into a chuckle, he shook his head. “Sorry, just… it doesn’t even surprise me that you yellin’ at us is all positive things rather than tryin’ to make us feel bad. It’s just so… Nessa,” he said in amusement, though it certainly wasn’t meant to be an insult. In fact, it seemed to wipe away the serious air around him and made him a little bit lighter – though perhaps that had something to do with the booze too.

As he gathered the shot glasses and the tequila, Serilda gave a very short and minimally detailed explanation of their history. It was better that way – explaining more of the, er, intimate intricacies would only have made things complicated and misunderstood. As the Voidmage remarked about him lacking friends, he simply rolled his eyes dramatically at her – though he also flashed a tiny smirk. He poured the four shots and divvied them up, making sure the one he put in front of Serilda stayed in front of her. “Mom ordered – can’t turn it down now,” he teased her right back, flashing a look and a small smile at Nessa before he held up the glass.

And then did something even more unconventional for his person. “Nessa’s right. We did good tonight. So let’s drink to that,” he said, offering up the cheers to them all before he pounded the shot.
