Avoidance, it was both a curse she bore and a blessing she reveled in. Whenever things got to be too much for her, Jiyu was exceptionally good at throwing herself into some form of work, which made it seem to others as if she was some reliable hard worker. The truth behind how many jobs she took was less than glamorous, she just wanted to avoid her own head and it worked wonderfully. If she was fighting beasts and saving cities she didn't have to think about what a pitiful lair she was, but of course, the work in itself was just another lie atop a tower. When someone lied enough, that fib became who they were to the entire world, even themselves to a degree and that was what had happened to Jiyu before the entire lie came crashing down around her several months before, luckily it was only her it had fallen apart for. If her guild-mates found out that Jiyu Kazehime didn't even exist legally outside of the guild? She had no idea how they would take that, she didn't want to let everything she had built slip through her fingers just because it was built on top of her stupidity. Even if she had found this life through being foolish? What she had gathered was anything but fool's errands and she would fight to keep everything. Eventually, she was going to lose, no one could keep that fight up forever, having two lives in their head and believing both.

This town had been just another stop on her mission to keep running from the truth that she was nothing but expertly crafted lies and secrets. Jiyu had intended on passing right through for another place higher on the mountain where she could freely practice her magic without the new limiter she had created, but that was before the attacks. On the first night she arrived in the town, something had come out of the surrounding woods and she had barely managed to help them fight it off the last few nights, unwilling to risk damaging the town by unleashing her magical strength. Under the advice of the blue haired girl, the nearby lord had put out a job request to the black rose guild, including the information that one of their guild-mates had already taken the job. Calling for back up while not admitting she was too cowardly to just fight the monster, too afraid of taking out part of the mountain in the crossfire.

Noon sun shone through the trees of the forest near a restaurant situated on the outer skirts of the village. "Ma'm, are you ready to order?" aqua optics switched up to see the waitress looking at her somewhat skittishly which was understandable she had black markings on her face, claws, canine ears and her tail nearly overflowed from beneath the table she had her legs tucked under. Jiyu was one of those who was easily picked out for not being human, and even beyond that the way she dressed could be off-putting as well, considering it portrayed the kind of confidence few people possessed. On top of everything? If she lost control of her emotions, bad things tended to start happening around her and she could never control herself. A real walking hazard zone who simply played for the good guys. "Not yet, I'm waiting for someone." she had sent a letter to the guild stating that whoever took that job should meet her at this quaint little restaurant today. Provided some way to make contact and also let her ensure she was not going out with someone who had not taken care of themsleves first.

Much had happened as of late.  However it wasn't keeping Oras from doing his guild duties.  Part of that was making sure the guild took on jobs actively.  In order to keep their cover secure, they needed to keep up a good reputation among the public.  The less suspicious they were to the magic counsel, the army, and even the local guards and citizens in the town their guild rested in, the better.  They couldn't make themselves seem perfect however, as perfection was impossible.  Even the fools of the world understood at least that much, and thus any supposed perfect group was either trying to gain attention, or trying to cover up something that wasn't exactly legal.  Such as an underground mafia aiming to gain more influence and control so they could overthrow and replace the magic counsel with another group who were better suited and with better morals.  Most importantly however, a group that wasn't corrupt and manipulative as the current counsel, seeing as how they were using the guild's for their own warfare against innocent countries.  He wished he could be more useful to the guild, but after being utterly destroyed by the God of blood...  He shook his head.  He was powerless.  Not only was he not skilled, smart or strong enough, but his tactics were utterly useless.  The god automatically saw through his illusions, which he wasn't even sure how the man had done so.  He could ignore Oras' ability to slow his opponent's down, which was one of his main advantages.  And it only took two strikes from the god to bring Oras to the brink of death.  Luckily he hadn't died and the guild was thus still repairable, but the result crushed Oras' confidence in himself and his magic.  He needed a new method...

For the moment however, he needed to focus on the objectives he had been given from a town in the mountains known as Shirotsume.  He looked at the job assignment yet again.  He was to meet up with someone in the inn of the town, and fight off some monsters that were assaulting the town during the night hours.  He was supposed to meet someone in the inn but Oras wasn't sure who that individual was.  The only information he was given was that this person was in the same guild he was in currently:  The Black Rose.  That narrowed it down greatly but not enough, as there were in fact quite a lot of members.  Especially now since they were starting to get even more members than before.  Even more so there was a difference between a member who knew about the mafia and was a part of it, and a member who was excluded.  At any rate, Oras wasn't sure who it was he was meeting...  More so this could be a trap for someone who had it in for black rose members.  He had to be very careful this time around, especially since he may be meeting a new member of the guild.  He hadn't been interacting with them too much, only a handful.  And by handful he meant only two individuals at all.  Sassi and Izayuki.  He'd been too busy with trying to figure out what his soul meant to be able to do much.  He had been meaning to investigate the assassin, but she hadn't been active as of late so he hadn't had much of a chance to.  At any rate, he was now keeping busy by completing jobs and assignments, so that the guild could keep it's good reputation, important as it is.

Oras soon reached the town and walked onto the street.  People glanced at him but only for a moment before ignoring him entirely.  People tended to do that a lot since he wore a mask most of the time.  There were however, exceptions now than before.  Oras would not wear a mask in the guild hall, and not when he was alone with another guild member.  Oras made his way through the town, looking for the inn he was supposed to meet a guild member in.  As he walked through the town people would see the job request in his hand, and would start mentioning it to others.  This reversed the effect his mask normally had on people, and instead began drawing attention to him.  Of course it would but he didn't mind it too much.  He didn't care about attention like most people did.  Oras just kept walking for the inn.  Eventually he found it and made his way inside.  His eyes scanned the room as he walked, never stopping for a second.  He almost missed his guild mate entirely, and even when he did he didn't notice her.  The reason being was that she was at a table, with the table blocking his view of her guild symbol.  He stopped beside the wall, a frown on his face under the mask.  He used his illusion magic to get a view from every angle of the room and, to his surprise, he saw the tattoo on the girl's stomach...  Why would someone.  He turned around to get a look at her.  Her clothing was easily describable as skimpy.  He heard rumors of a wizard who wore little clothing so he was making the connection that this was her:  Jiyu her name was according to the rumors that is.  Interesting.

He walked over and sat down opposite to her.  When the waitress came to ask him what he'd like to have he only requested water before he looked at her.
     "So you're Jiyu I'm assuming?"

The voice of her guild-mate came from behind some sort of mask which was a bit 'concerning' in a sense, showed that he didn't trust her in spite of being guild-mates. However, it was nowhere near as concerning as it once had been, she barely cared. What was a little mask? If someone tried to look into her they would quickly find she didn't even exist, there was no Jiyu Kazehime anywhere on any records except for when she joined Black Rose, it was like that was the day she came into existence. Heck! If one tried to track her past by word of mouth that would also be difficult as many of her past associates through her time as a runaway had sworn silence they had ever even heard her name. Jiyu existed to runaway and yet somehow that same alias had found her way into a position where she was relied on by others and respected. Somehow, she managed to even hide that she existed to never confront her own problems.

"Assumption Correct." her charming voice was soft as she cut her large eyed gaze up to the male, having to turn her head somewhat due to having the limited range of a canine. As was often the case? Jiyu first noticed how tall he was compared to her, considering the low position of the table she sat at, her head only even came up to his stomach because of her fluffy ears. The only person she had met apart from some children who were not taller, was her Sakura when in that doll body. "Should order something to eat, we're going to be here a while." it was very early in the afternoon having barely struck twelve, so they had plenty of time until night fell. Of course, the wind user did not intend to wait for her opponent to come greet her like she had the previous nights, it was just getting too dangerous for the village. The risk of some innocents getting caught in the crossfire was simply far too high to chance a confrontation with that shadowy monster within the confines of the village again. She barely managed to protect everyone with her limiter in place the last few nights.

The waitress returned with his water very swiftly, which interrupted any further explaining she seemed to be willing to do at that exact moment. "Are you two ready to order?" the canine instantly handed her menu back when it was given to her with a curt smile. "You can bring me anything so long as it's not poisonous to dogs or made on anything toxic to dogs is made on." She didn't so much care what she got this time and the waitress would know what those items on the menu were. Being what she was? Even the smallest bit of a toxic substance could be enough to end her until she could generate another body. "Don't keep the young lady waiting long, pick something~" the wind mage chuckled her comment out playfully as she switched her attention back to the male, pulling her tail a little closer to make sure he didn't accidentally touch it.

Just Another Classical Monster Story;; Oras/Jiyu Empty Re: Just Another Classical Monster Story;; Oras/Jiyu

Post by Oras Auro 18th July 2018, 1:07 pm

The girl confirmed Oras' suspicions that she was in fact Jiyu.  At least she was open about it and not..  Oras just realized something.  He'd seen her before, when they were adding new members to the guild.  She was the one who popped out of nowhere onto the table.  Yet, something about her was off this time.  The last time he saw her she was extremely energetic, hyper and such.  Enough to be on the table and such.  Yet here she seemed, rather serious.  Oras couldn't help but wonder if she put up an act around the others, or rather in public, or if something had happened recently.  He wondered if she would be willing to talk about it, or if it was something she would rather keep to herself.  People usually had secrets they would rather not speak about to others after all, so it wasn't too out of the ordinary.  Still, it was enough to get his attention.  Either way the canine, or rather half canine humanoid was here, and was the guild mate he had come to meet up with in regards to the job assignment.  He wasn't sure what her magic was, so they should probably discuss that so that the two of them didn't get in each other's way when in combat.  Hopefully their magic would work well with each other, despite Oras' being designed mainly to defend himself and disorientate those around him.  Still there was a chance.

When Jiyu suggested to him to get something to eat, he thought for a moment before coming to his conclusion.
"I'll take my food to the rooms then.  I'm not too hungry at the moment anyways so it doesn't matter if it's delayed a little," he said.  He didn't explain to her why he was making this decision, mainly because Izayuki's reaction made it seem to him as if him wearing a mask to keep people from seeing his emotions, where he was looking, and for the simple comfort of no one knowing who he truly was to be a rather amusing yet annoying aspect entirely.  It was made even worse when they found out that no mask could hide Oras' soul signature, which meant that he couldn't use it to hide.  He could however, keep it for the first two reasons, no matter how useless Izayuki believed the attempt to be.  Oras felt the mask would be useful in the middle of battle anyhow, so he could easily keep it for that reason alone.  At this point the mask was a simple comfort for him in the presence of strangers.  He didn't trust people and he grew up trying to hide himself from the world, so even if he was going to get rid of the mask for good.  It wasn't an easy thing to do.  He was beginning the process by removing his mask when inside the guild hall, despite how uncomfortable it was.  It was a small step but it was a start.

The waitress asked them what they would like to order, and didn't seem fazed by her apparent half dog appearance, or the request for food that wasn't harmful to dogs in any way.  When she asked Oras he asked for a simple dish and nothing more.  Oras was used to traveling on the road as a nomad.  He didn't eat much, and most of what he ate was what he could find or hunt on the road, or provisions he picked up in towns.  Thus what he ordered would be similar to those provisions he typically picked up.  When the waitress walked away he turned to Jiyu as if it was normal for him to order food for his room, and for the food to be extremely simple.
"Alright so there wasn't much detail in the job request.  What exactly are we facing here?  Do we know anything about the monster's sizes, strengths, weaknesses, specialties?"

Almost every single thing the scantily clad woman did? Was some sort of front, she couldn't even be honest with herself so it was practically impossible for her to be honest with anyone else. Something had happened but it had not been the origin of her wishy-washy behavior, she had always been like that, it simply accented it to the point of making it far more noticeable than it once was in the past. Jiyu didn't talk to anyone about it unless she was utterly broken, the girl had never made any habit of revealing her weakness to anyone. Likely something she adapted from Lucius. While she seemed like an open book most of the time? It was simply another way to protect herself, often people believed those who commanded attention and strode around not caring, truly had nothing to hide because someone with true secrets would be foolish to behave that way! For nearly a complete decade the method had worked wonders for her, keeping everyone off the fact she didn't go a single day without lying.

"Room." she made the statement as if she was annoyed with the idea of it, averting her gaze and looking out the window. "I only ordered one, as I figured it would be more of a place to bandage wounds if anything happened." and for her to avoid interacting if they ended their discussions involving the mission before he was actually ready to leave for it. Jiyu did not like the idea of being alone with some man even if that man was a guild-mate. "Considering everything it may actually be wise to discuss this in there." the female made the comment seeming as if she was trying to interact with him while pretending he didn't even exist, pretend she was talking to air instead of another person. Normally, Jiyu went to a decent extent of trouble to avoid seeming as if she had an aversion to men, but this was a guild-mate, one day he was going to find out it was fairly unavoidable. Why should she trouble to hide the fact when the male was eventually going to learn it regardless? It would be a waste of time.

Before long, the canine found herself sat in the moderately sized room with the masked male, her own form sat against one corner near the door. "This thing started showing up a few nights ago." she extended her right arm the fingers of her left-hand lifting to touch the unattached sleeve on her right arm causing something much like a hologram to appear. At even a light inspection? Someone could easily see it was a small model of the town, one she could navigate and maneuver with her fingertips.  "I was staying with an old weaver on the outskirts of town, just passing through, recovering from a wound I had received on my last mission." that wound had healed easily clearly as no sign remained, her finger simply pointing to what appeared to be the weaver's house on the hologram. "The first night was nothing much, children were scared and some more susceptible adults were all spooked by the noise and the occasional shadow of something and it was only the outskirts that experienced anything." with that comment she pressed a button and low rumbling sound filled the room, apparently she had recorded the sound of the creature on her sleeve as well. "At first, everyone believed it was simply passing by and no one cared what it was." that had changed quickly and her grimace showed as much, fingers swiping to the next 'scene' on her hologram. "The third night, I had to fend it off when it attacked." she swiped the hologram disabling it and returning that arm to her side.

With the basic debriefing over? They could move on to the second portion of this conversation. "This next part you have to keep secret, its the reason I wanted this to be a guild-mate." she didn't have time to wait for someone who already knew, otherwise she would have. Jiyu took a breath and looked directly at the male "Due to my impaired vision I couldn't see what it was, never got close enough. I can track it, I did catch its scent and sound, but I have no idea what we're going after." she had fought that create most of the night until it fled in the morning but she had never once gotten any glimpse of it. "Whatever this is, can see me before I can get close enough to hunt it properly, so that's where you come in, hopefully, you'll be able to see it, allowing us the edge we need to beat it." she was an excellent hunter but this was something that played in a field she couldn't compete alone, vision, by bringing in a second party she hoped that the game would even out. "All I need is for it to not see me, I only need one good shot." with that comment she picked up her bow from the corner, slinging her quiver over her shoulder. Jiyu was ready to track the beast whenever her guild-mate was. "And we have to go soon, each night we've fought this thing has been learning, our opponent knows I'm nearly blind and it's been devising ways to deceive my hearing, if it gets too good at that I won't be able to make the kill shot." when she had to fire at the distance she was being forced to, all three of her strong senses, smell, hearing and her bond with the wind had to be perfect to allow her to hit the mark. "I'd like to take it out with as little collateral as possible." thus why she was prefering her bow as the weapon of choice, if she could just get that single clean shot, there would be no collateral.

Just Another Classical Monster Story;; Oras/Jiyu Empty Re: Just Another Classical Monster Story;; Oras/Jiyu

Post by Oras Auro 3rd August 2018, 5:24 am

OOC- I'm sorry for not posting earlier, I've had a lot going on recently

Oras listened as she corrected him, stating how she had only ordered one room. He didn't see why that was a problem as he could just as easily rent a room at any point he'd like, or even set up a tent outside if he had to. Hell he'd even sleep in a tree if that's what it took. That was his life before joining a guild after all. Renting a room in the inn when visiting towns, and sleeping in a tent or a place higher up if need be when it was nightfall mid trip between places. Oras was a nomad before all of this, and was accustomed to hunting for his own food, creating a suitable sleeping section, defending himself. He was a survivalist, not a pathetic human who needed the comforts of a home to survive. However there was something else he had noticed. She seemed annoyed.. Not because she failed to order two rooms, but from what it looked like because she didn't want to. He could even feel the annoyance emanating off of her.. Literally, thanks to the ability he had thanks to his unnatural soul. While he could control it, there were times where it brushed against others by accident. He had also noticed that she was deliberately trying not to look at him. Well then, he thought. Oras sighed. "So you're going to be one of those people is it? Look, I don't know if you have something against me, against men, or against people in general. I don't know, and while I'd like to know I won't press you for information. I won't tell you what to do in your normal life, but here and now I want you to listen: We are working together on this mission. That means we need to cooperate, communicate, and play to each other's strengths. I had this issue with another wizard a while before and I'm not having the same stupid event happen repeatedly. If you don't want to work with me you find someone else. Otherwise, regardless of your feelings, you will communicate with me and we will work together. I don't care what rank you are, what your magic is, or what sort of life you've been raised in. If those conditions aren't met then we won't be working together. Understand?" He wasn't attempting to disrespect her in any way. However he had a tendency to be.... Blunt. Especially when wearing his mask. And her personal feelings affecting their work like this was something he woudln't have. He didn't mind people hating him, but if they were going to work with him but not, then he'd rather just do the job by himself.

He followed Jiyu into the room she had rented and when they walked in, closed the door, and only then, he would take his mask off. He listened to her explain after pulling up what appeared to be a projection of a three dimensional map of the town. Explaining how she had been staying the night in order to recover from a wound of some sort, and described how the creature was making noises and sounds that disturbed the kids, but the adults waved it off believing it would pass by. Typical Oras thought. They always assume nothing will go wrong, and thus are always vulnerable to an attack of any sort. It was pretty much the only thing Oras actually stood firmly on: The innocent shall not be harmed. But it was difficult to prevent the innocent from being injured when they were being complete and absolute morons. Oras mentally sighed but continued to listen to Jiyu. She removed the projection after explaining how she was forced to fend it off on the third night, probably despite her injury. When she mentioned the second part being a secret that he must not share with anyone else he used his magic to ensure they would not be heard by anyone and nodded, leaning against the wall.
"You have my word. I'm good with secrets."

After hearing what she had to say.. That she had impaired vision and needed his help setting the beast up for a clean shot. He thought carefully in silence for a moment, his strategic mind ablaze and at work. This worked out in the end, as Oras needed to change his magic, but until he did it worked as a utility and support magic, not really geared towards offensive abilities. He thought about what they could do before he looked back at Jiyu. "My magic is primarily illusions so I can probably lure it into a trap. I can alter the light in the area to project images, control sound waves to create voices, sounds, etc. And I can also control the world around me via heightened telekinesis. If I know the molecular structure of the object, I can control and alter it. Normally I use this in combat to create a battlefield where my opponent can't determine what is real or not, however I didn't realize how utterly useless it would be against individuals like... Gods. Or Yokai for that matter," he said as he recalled his near death, and literal death a few days back. "However I feel my magic would be perfectly suited for this instance. I can lure it into a trap and you land the finishing blow. Did you have a strategy in mind, or do you want to leave the lure and trap portion of the job up to me?"

The problem with mission partners staying in different locations? Was how vulnerable it left someone, from her life she knew the danger's of both isolation and the dangers of trusting the wrong person. However isolation and being caught alone was the greater risk when it came to a unit working together against a common enemy. If one of them didn't rouse quickly enough, happened to be out for a walk elsewhere or any variety of things that could happen if they separated, it could attack and she could miss the dwindling shot she had at taking it out, minus blowing half the mountain away. Pompous asshole, assuming her reasoning for not wanting to get too close to him and for being slightly annoyed. Of course, that was what men did, get the smallest big of information and assume they knew everything or had some sort of right to all the details, that their opinion mattered more even if they were outranked and outclassed, they somehow always had every right to whatever woman they were looking at.

"Do not assume the kind of person I am, no one really knows anything about me." her comment was sneered, aqua optics leered crossly at him from the side, not facing him fully, still avoiding looking at him however she could. How could anyone even Astrid or Lucius know her completely, when she kept an entire half of her life hidden no matter who she was talking to. The boy had nothing to base his assumptions on expect the brief window he was seeing and making judgments based on such quick info was always dangerous. "I've worked with many other's before, simply because I've been working on my own for a while of my own preference and prefer to be on my guard around certain people especially considering my healing state, does not mean I'm rusty on teamwork." indeed she had not worked purposefully with someone else for a while until now, it had all been pure chance or she had been completely on her own. After finding out about the truth behind so many things, had lived so many lies, and knowing she had darker secrets to uncover? The wind sorceress had needed to be on her own for some time, under the very careful eye of her relative who was the only person who could hope to contain how wild her magic had gone.

"Illusions should work just fine, it's smart but it hasn't seemed to be immune to any sort of deception, cheap diversion tricks are how I've kept it from storming back into the village." setting up traps to make it sound like hunting parties were out, or make another part of the forest more appealing than the village. "So if you can set something up before it see's you, then you should be able to maintain control. This things eyesight is the biggest danger on it." indeed, if this thing did not have good enough eyesight to see her before she could get within death shot range, she would be able to hunt it herself. "Based on scent and sound, We could be dealing with a hybrid, some mutant or an experiment that went wrong, keep that in mind." If it really was a science project out of control, mutant or such? The beast could have abilities they had no clue about, she had never really let it close enough to her to find out.

"If your all ready to go, I'll take the first portion of tracking, as I said after we get so close, you have to take over otherwise it will see us first." she just hoped a humans eyesight was enough to get close enough that he could trap the creature long enough for her to make a single clean shot. She didn't know what they were going after, but she knew enough to track it and that they had to be cautious because something was abnormal about their quarry. With bow and quiver secured to her back, the canine was ready to go off tracking this beast the second Oras spoke up that he was ready to head out. Hopefully, he could keep up with her, it was very unpleasent if she had to slow to match another's pace while she hunted, but it was an essential part of pack hunting.

Oras watched calmly as she reacted rather negatively, sneering at him and his conclusion. His conclusion that she disliked either him, men or people in general. However she really couldn't be upset with his statement, as she gave every single sign that she did in fact dislike something about him. And yet, there was something she had said.. The first thing she mentioned actually, that stood out to him. No one really knows anything about me. The reason this stood out was that it implied, well everyone. And seeing as how he was a guild member, he could only come to the thought that she implied the guild as well. This, of course, raised a concern in his mind.. What was she hiding? Just a personality? A history? Something she'd done or was doing? Was she a double agent? He couldn't think about this now, but he wanted to look into her later. Izayuki had, after all, given him permission to investigate any member of the guild he felt he should investigate. For now... "If you don't want people to assume anything, you should be careful how you interact with others. The reason I had come to the conclusion that you dislike either me, men, or people in general was because you were giving off every single sign and vibe in that sense. I'm not the type of person to wait things out or wait for things to smooth out. I would much prefer to handle a situation or problem then move onto the next." And this was true. It was also true to his blunt behavior. He didn't feel the need to waste his time unless it was really worth it. And now that she was telling him she could handle it they would move onto the discussion again.

She explained how the beast wasn't that clever, and thus illusions should work perfectly. When she mentioned how if he could set up the trap before it saw or heard him he shook his head.
"That's not a problem seeing as how I can control the sound waves around me. That and I can alter light and how it reflects off of objects to create false illusions or make myself invisible. And I can use my telekinesis to keep any scent of mine from drifting towards the beast, so being detected won't be a problem for me unless it has some ability neither of us are aware of." When she told him what she believed the creature could possibly be he nodded in understanding. Mutant monster, experiment, chimera. It could be anything. For all he knew it could be a supernatural creature. The thought of that reminded him of Nazo, when he and Izayuki went to try and find out what was up with his soul. The same soul that couldn't make up it's mind on how strong he was, or even what he was. When she mentioned how she'd take the first half of the tracking and let him take the lead when they were close enough he nodded. It made sense seeing as how she had heightened, well senses. "We have a bit of time before the sun sets, but I'm ready to leave at a moment's notice. You say the word and we can start the hunt." From what he'd been hearing, Oras wondered if he could take this monster on all by himself...

Jiyu having an actual negative reaction to something? Was actually an event that Versus should pray he never got the privilege of seeing! When the wind user actually grew upset over something, her response tended to be based on sharp violence and carried out with intense swiftness. The woman was actually shockingly not prone to having truly negative reacts since most of her negativity was stored in another part of herself. Inugami indeed were made to be simply malicious revenge spirits who could be contracted for drastic prices. However? The goddess was not purely canine when she died, her human father's blood had still been running through her veins and that was why she could be much calmer than most other's of her species. No matter how long she had been dead, she was not pure revenge spirit, she had more to her, though if one woke her rage, even Jiyu couldn't remember she had ever been anything more than revenge.

"Boy, the quicker you learn that assumptions are dangerous things only fools make decisions or actions on, the better off you'll be." of course, he didn't need to know that she was one of those foolish people who acted often on impulse without every little scrap of info, Jiyu was quick but far from meticulous. "Trying to solve everything quick like that is not efficient as you'd believe." she knew that well enough herself, the quick way out was often the worst possible way, it had taken her years to learn it but these days she knew it well. If she had waited for another solution? She would still have family. "You miss things, mistakes get made, and you're always the one who will pay for them in the end if a cost arises." she had lost the chance at happiness she had, wrecked other peoples lives, all for a quick reverie away from what she had been going through. If she stayed around? In retrospect, she had so many other options, and her life would have been so much better.

At least he seemed as if he could get the job done, as much of an ass as he seemed to be, getting this done was what mattered. When lives were at risk? Concerning herself over how quick to judge and inexperienced her partner happened to be, was the farthest thing from her mind. "Than we won't be waiting." with the comment she pushed the door to their room opened, and headed out of it, glancing back once even though he already knew she could not see him. Apparently, she was more than adjusted to pretending she could see what everyone was doing in order to hide how blind she was, mask something she considered weakness considering how much of the world was sight based.

Oras cocked an eyebrow at her reaction. This woman wasn't only a liar, she was hypocritical as well. She had no self control and was lashing out at anything that offended her. Which according to what Oras had been seeing and hearing, could legitimately be anything. She was a literal walking time bomb. Anything could set her off. While most people would just say "this is why you don't have any friends" and walk away, Oras wanted to get to the bottom of it. If it was just her attitude he may have just left, but it was the lies that caught his attention. It was his job to investigate, not only enemies and information, but the members of their guild as well. Especially if they were lying to him or the guild in general. If this guild was supposed to be a strong family or organization that worked together, why then was she hiding something? "Think about what you're saying before you actually say it," he told her. "as you're doing the very thing you are telling me not to do right now. In other words, being a hypocrite. I'm done with this argument either way. You refuse to listen to me, reason or logic and we have a job that needs to be completed. From what I heard I could probably take on this job by myself, so you need to choose now: Either keep arguing a pointless debate and I go do the job myself. Or we cease this childish feud and focus on the job that lies in front of us."

When she told him they should go ahead and leave now he nodded and stood up. Hopefully she'd keep her unreasonable and illogical thoughts to herself on this trip and they could get it done quickly... So that he could begin his investigations and find out what it was she had been hiding all this time. He didn't trust her one bit, but it was clear that while she couldn't be trusted on the whole, she wouldn't do anything physical to a guild mate. It seemed that may be a line she wouldn't cross. When she opened the door he slipped the mask on and followed her closely. He saw her turn to look at him which didn't make any sense seeing as how she told him about her poor eyesight. So why on earth would she do something like that? Was it possible she was just trying to pretend that she could see everyone's actions despite that? Give everyone the thought that she knew all or something? That was so pathetic it was sad in his mind. What the hell was going on with this woman? What are you hiding Jiyu?

His cocked brow was almost the last straw for her, this man was so disgusting, expecting to be given more than he was willing to give first. He had started all this simply because she had been withdrawn and very cautious of him when he first arrived, the same way she would be for any other man she did not know, especially if they were wearing a mask. Heck anyone would have that reaction to someone with a mask, hers had just been a pinch more pronounced due to her understandable distaste for men, which he not even taken a second to try to understand before making it personal. Was the only thing men wanted to do take things from people who didn't want to give them first? Was it some sort of sick game that got them off! Jiyu was never about to be the one to give in first, the one to bow or curtsey to appease someone else, she could care less about other people. That was a lie, she cared too much. Why else had she blocked herself off so well, she hadn't wanted anyone involved in something she knew was dangerous, not wanted to see anyone hurt or remember that anyone ever had been. She lived her life as a masquerade with certain demands because it was the best way to protect the place she had grown to care about and herself. Jiyu couldn't take much more right now, not when she barely even knew who she was anymore, it was impossible to bear much more. She would be the one in control.

"Try taking your own advice." her voice was cold, eyes narrowed as she slipped her bow back into its place on her quiver and unhooked the device from its body, removing her armor. "You're standing here demanding things while at the same time showing yourself unwilling to give the same," telling her not to argue while he refused to drop it first? Not to mention anything else in the conversation before, this man didn't know the first thing about working with someone else or communication and cooperation, even Lucius who was an assassin who hated people knew far more than this boy about playing nice. "Have fun on your own." she was not going to appease him by shutting up and going with him as if he had the least bit of control over her. Jiyu would never be controlled by someone else, she had been bound and controlled before, it had taken her everything she had at the time to get back up and even then she had needed help, she was never going to be that weak again. She had to deal with the cost of actions she had made, and it was high time this man learned his behavior had consequences. Jiyu was already willing to accept the fact she'd later have to intervene and afterward treat any wounds the creature gave him. Needing to punch herself in the gut later on? Was worth teaching this despicable man his lesson now.

She went the other way completely ignoring and not even seeming to hear anything if he said anything else, tossing her equipment back into the room to further add to the ideal. While anyone who knew her long enough would know that she would never actually abandon someone to do a job on their own? He didn't, and she fully intended to use that, he had no idea she could keep tabs on him with her wind vision, no idea she wasn't actually walking away due to his behavior. No idea she was actually heading out of the inn to fetch supplies for the next few days, already predicting she may need some first aid supplies, and a few days of food so she could stay and treat him after he foolishly went off on his own.
