Sorano needed a break. It was all good and well that she was getting money from little personal requests to solve disputes throughout the nearby cities – it helped build her reputation and earned her money, but she was tired of it all. It was time to go out and get a taste of something else, maybe try one of the jobs she’d done in the past – big, dramatic things like fighting hordes of monsters or something. She’d been terrified when doing them in the past, but now the concept felt to her like a refreshing breath of fresh air that was seriously needed. Pulling on her more action-suitable gear and attaching the straps that were needed for Hoshi’s flight abilities, the guild master pushed open the door of her Fairy Hills dormitory. “Hoshi, I’m thinking of going out and grabbing a job from the board. Would you be willing to come along?”

The tabby exceed popped up from the couch on which she’d been napping, surprised at the sudden request. They hadn’t been out on a regular job for a bit, so it wasn’t really expected. “Really? Like, those fight the monster or stop the mage sort of things? I’m surprised, Sorano. Wasn’t expecting you to pick one back up for a while.” Even so, the exceed was already running her pink tongue over the tufts of fur on her paws, wiping it over her face and ears in that feline manner. Within a matter of seconds, Hoshi too was flying out the door, white wings having burst from her back in a flicker of magical energy. Her magical prowess was fairly weak, but Hoshi’s Aera abilities were indispensable to Sorano in jobs that involved fighting.

They took the elevator down, waving at the fairy who operated the front desk and crossing the street to the guild hall. Despite the size having been downgraded from the magnificent castle-like hall that Fairy Tail had possessed before exile, the technology and magical components of the building had definitely improved. Upon entering through the awkwardly old-fashioned door, a modern reception and job desk stood proudly at the side of the lobby, holograms floating above it with jobs that could be printed out for a mage to take. Another fairy, visible only to the mages of this particular guild would add more to the floating panels as they came in, removing the ones that were claimed. “Good morning,” said Sorano, her tongue struggling to twist into the intricate language of fey creatures. Even with her magic-powered language abilities, pronunciation was not something so easily mastered. Receiving a cordial nod from the tiny creature, the guild master would scan over the available options.

“Hey Sorano, let’s take this one. We haven’t been over to Talonia for a while, and I wanna check out the stores there.” Hoshi’s voice pulled her attention to a panel she had selected, detailing a manageable job on the outskirts of the guildless magic city. Unlike Rose Garden, Talonia was where it was more likely to find mercenaries and practical magical items, being full of guildless mages and magic traders who conducted business there. Despite not being so grand as the flowering, glowing Rose Garden, the items offered there were far more applicable to a professional mage’s life. A shopping trip was due sometime soon anyways, so Sorano would shrug, pushing the panel over to the printing machine. Sliding into the machine, a sheet of paper was dispensed with the information on it. Sorano picked it up and slipped it into her satchel.

“Go by train, right?” Hoshi nodded in agreement – she should save her Aera for the job itself, and the train station wasn’t far.

The lights and announcement for Talonia came on, jerking the two Fairy mages out of their thoughts. “Ah, we’re here already. Let’s get this over with!” Hoshi’s enthusiastic tone propelled them out of the station, and moving on the way towards their destination. An underground ancient temple on the outskirts of Talonia… Of course, guildless mages had their gods as well, and even places like Talonia would have ancient historical sites. What was unexpected on the form would be not that, but the sheer size. A temple that went down miles into the earth’s crust? What sort of place was this? Sorano would just have to figure out once they got there.

Of course Sorano and Hoshi weren't the only ones going to the temple in Talonia, Over in Rose Garden. Caelum Pendragon and her partner Bastet were looking over the jobs. The Sky Dragon Slayer was really wondering what job she was needing to go on, since shes really been on jobs that centered on bounties and or stopping crime, so a monster one she hadn't done in so long and she loved to actually fight monsters and mythical beings.

"Funny enough Bastet i wanna do a job with a lot of monsters and treasures you know...must be the dragon in me" she joked about her dragon heritage to her companion as the cat goddess chuckled and sipped her milk...yes it was milk she liked it. "Yeaaaaaah it has to be, i mean you all are Treasure Hoarders...you nearly took my arm off for a few jewel" she laughed as Caelum protested stating that she took her jewel and it was a chase. "Either way id say lets take this one, ive not been to Talonia before and this won is talking about monsters and mages...win win id say" Bastet nodded and turned in for accepting the job, they were also told though that some one from Fairy Tail would be joining them on the mission, "I didn't know Fairies had tails really? Thats new to me"

Still either way the two went and bought some provisions such as some food and water to take with them on the trip, as they knew this ruin was stated to be in the desert, that meant that they needed all the water they could carry, and eh might as well buy some for the Fairy Tail peep too. After they got their supplies the Dragonslayer opted for the train...thank god she was the sky one, cause they had least effected motion sickness but still, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didnt...this was one of those times that it didnt work AT ALL! Luckily though, this train was the same one that Sorano and Hoshi was riding seems like fate possibly has a funny sense of humor.

Well as the fate would be more cruel to Caelum, after it dropped the Fairy Tail individuals off in Talonia but Caelums motion sickness was preventing her from getting off the Train even though Bastet was trying to pull her off but soon the train pulled off making it ten times worse for the Cat Goddess to try and get Caelum off the train. "Oh damn it really! The one time you motion sickness had to act up Caelum" all you could hear is an audible groan from a pale white dragonslayer with motion sickness acting up, even so Bastet was able to get her up on her back as she looked at the notice for the job as she looked at the location and nodded as she held the paper up to teleport them out of the train...and soon re-materialized above Sorano and Hoshi and fall right down at them letting out an audible yell as they fell.

The girl’s feet tapped smartly against the stone-paved road, eyes scanning over the shop fronts of Talonia. As always, the place was busy, mages clad in dark cloaks, usually travelling by themselves. Guildless mages were probably some of the best mercenaries one could get – they lacked alignments, and as such were less likely to disappoint you with loyalties, or codes and rules. Perhaps the guild master herself could take lessons from this particular class of the profession – Fairy Tail was a business-oriented guild after all, and they were generally considered mercenaries. Unfortunately, they probably lacked some of the advantages of the mages in Talonia… Stopping by a potion cart, Sorano took a moment to sift through the bottles and packets, eyed suspiciously by the owner. “You ain’t from around here, are ya?”

The woman’s gruff, nasally voice shook the letter mage from her thoughts, the girl looking up to meet her eyes. It probably made sense – the girl was clad in a crisp white shirt, a few assorted straps and buckles scattered across her arms and torso for the holding of tools, and a cleanly ironed skirt that would be extremely impractical for your typical mercenary. Her very appearance was far too professional for a place such as this, not to mention her carefully honed magical signature would mark her an instant outsider. Perhaps she should have chosen clothes that allowed her to blend in better? “Ah, yeah, not really. Just here for shopping.” She responded as casually as she could, looking to avoid any potential conflicts. Guild mages weren’t well trusted around here, from what she’d remembered, but whether being in an independent guild would change that or not, she did not know.

“Hmmph. Don’t get many as small as you are around here.” Sorano nodded easily, checking over some of the magical teas on sale before moving away. The woman would continue muttering quietly as she moved on, though the letter mage had learned to generally ignore these things. It didn’t do to be offended by someone else’s comments, particularly when they were a mere stranger on the street. It wasn’t like she could feel the hatred that came with being offended at all, after all. Being emotionless had its few perks.

Continuing down the street, the letter mage slowly moved out of the shopping district, moving out towards a few hills on the outskirts of the city. According to the charm on her bracelet that was locating their proper position right now, they should get to the temple fairly soon. Slowly looking around at her surroundings, the letter mage frowned at the soft beeping of the item that announced that they had arrived at their destination – not a single trace of any temple existed on the hill they currently tread upon. The wind blew gently over the spring sky, and the grasses upon the hill, speckled innocently with wildflowers didn’t seem to hide any secrets from her, either. How odd. The girl’s dark eyes would scan over the area before widening in surprise at a sudden disruption of the energy in the plant life around her drew her attention to the ground beneath her feet. Hmm? What was this?

The letter mage bent down, grasping at an invisible handle that seemed to be rooted there with a cautious tug. There it was. So it really was underground after all, and well-hidden at that. Whatever was going on here, it certainly wasn’t something that was meant to be disrupted – should be interesting to see what she and the mage who should arrive soon would stumble upon. Before attempting to enter through the disguised stairwell she had unearthed, the letter mage sent her sensory abilities through the earth, trying to find some indication of what they might face. Nothing? How intriguing. Looking over at Hoshi, she would open her mouth to speak when a sudden whooshing noise sounded above them, dropping a green-haired girl from the sky?

“What in the--?” Sorano shoved Hoshi aside, moving with her to dodge the sudden appearance of this intrusive mage, jumping up quickly to direct a knife in their direction. Was this some sort of enemy this early on into the job? She didn’t look the part, from what she saw – bright green hair, and a lower-ranking magical signature than her own. ”Excuse me, but who are you?”

As they came through the magical transportation that Bastet had chimed in for them, Caelum and herself were now laying flat on the sandy floor in front of of the two, kinda...well an inconvenience for all involved as Caelum was still getting over her motion sickness as she laid there grumbling a bit "er...hurk...did...did we make it off the demon train....??" the weary Dragon Slayer asked her cat goddess companion who stood up and dusted herself off "yeah...we did and next time..oh" she turned and say the script mage as she blinked slightly "my bad miss umm...anyways did we make it to Talonia? We were supposed to meet an individual to do a job about something to do with some sentient rocks and such?? ....are you them??"

She looked to her as she stretched a bit trying to get un-cramped and such as Caelum soon stood up and coughed slightly and held herself up by a nearby wall with a still sickly looking face as she looked around a bit "Wait...why are we in some basement?? i thought the monsters were suppose to be in some ruins and such??" she was still a bit out of it but she really thought they would be outside of the city more so, not in the way of the cramped up basement really, but in a way who knew it could be a secret passage or it could lead out to somewhere larger or maybe possibly further down too which truthfully that would probably be a nice surprise considering that this place to Caelum so far was nothing but sand and markets well there is more stuff but so far just those two things...but she kinda felt a bit strange..kinda like her magical energies were somewhat were flowing better, just what type of place was this? Was there really something there oooor was she just that stupid and not realizing that it was natural for this place to do that....probably that since shes never came to Talonia before at all.

"Heh...anyways...nice to meet you im Caelum, the one you met first is Bastet its nice to meet you....whats your name??" she asked looking at the script mage and...talking cat? Well you know its not the strangest thing shes seen...i mean come on she has a cat goddess as a companion for ancestors sake and before then she had to literally fight her before she would agree to be her companion but at least they got along now even though like now-a-days the most they would argue about is whose gonna get the last piece of fish after they cooked it really that and who can beat the others behind in spars and video games...those are actually pretty funny to see through other peoples eyes.

    Post by ivyleaf33 25th May 2018, 11:04 am

STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK YOUR BONES, BUT YOU'VE GOT NO CHANCE AGAINST WORDS.

The green-haired female’s aura was a mess, seeming to be disoriented. It wouldn’t surprise Sorano if that were indeed the case, as falling down form a random portal in the middle of nowhere would render herself rather overwhelmed as well. Mumbling something incoherent about a demon train, the letter mage’s eyebrows would spike up in interest. A demon train? Did that have to do with what was going on here on this particular job? How interesting… While she still could not be certain as to whether these newcomers were friends or foes, their confused state would suggest that perhaps they were neither, and instead merely mages who had miscast a spell. The possibility also did remain that something relating to this particular job could have caused this random release of the two figures into the area. A summoning power maybe?

Either way, her questions were soon to be answered as the black-haired woman, radiating a rather inhuman aura stood up, speaking quickly to the green-haired one before turning and blinking over at Sorano. The nonchalant way in which she spoke, looking as if the situation was one most natural, she apologized quickly then asked a question that served to pique Sorano’s interest even more. Meeting an individual to do a job about sentient rocks? How odd – could it be that this duo were the ones sent to perform this job with the Fairies?

“I’d suppose we are. I don’t believe there’s any other mages around here, are there?” The letter mage extended her aura around herself even as Hoshi’s wings brought her higher up to survey the area. No sign of any other possible helpful entities were apparent, or at least, no sign of any detectable ones were. Finding no particular interest in their setting, Sorano instead directed her attention towards these two mysterious mages. The green-haired one seemed weak and sickly, pushing herself off from the ground in a wobbly and uncertain movement that caused the girl to wonder if she was portal-sick or something. She herself experienced similar symptoms when traveling through portals, though not on as severe a scale as the verdette was.

“Wait…why are we in some basement?”
A basement? Sorano wasn’t sure if she’d describe the underground temple area as a basement, exactly. The musty smell and dirt walls were not much similar to modern basements today, clogged to the brim with water pipes and magical heaters and the like. Almost comforting, in a strange way. She would wait for Caelum to slowly get used to her surroundings, gazing around and sort of doing a mental check of her situation. As disoriented as she seemed, it could take a bit of time to adjust. Sensing surprise and perplexity from her aura, Sorano extended her own senses once more, feeling at the energy of the place. How…odd. It felt as though her magical energy had somehow been sharpened, feeling more alert and energetic than before she’d come down here. “Hoshi, do you feel the increase of ethernanos in here?” Asking the tabby feline, Hoshi responded by closing her eyes, the energies of nature around her pulling data from the air. “Yeah…I feel it. Kinda weird…?” Ruffling her fur slightly, the exceed blinked amber eyes at the letter mage.

Yet before they could try and figure out the source, a voice roe up from the verdette, who seemed to have recovered. “Nice to meet you, I’m Caelum, the one you first met is Bastet,” she introduced the two, asking for their names in response. Wait a moment, Caelum? As in, Caelum Pendragon of the current Rising Stars lineup? Blinking her eyes in faint surprise, Sorano did a double take at the mage. Caelum Pendragon, or the Seventh Rising Star of Fiore was a perfect legal mage according to the Magic Council as shown by her current position, meaning the Fairy couldn’t let her guard down. Although she was in Black Rose…

The Roses and Fairies had indeed formed an alliance on the basis of a mutual dislike of the Magical Council, so Caelum should be fairly trustworthy, right? Well, better safe than sorry. “Ah, Caelum Pendragon, Rising Star of Black Rose? I was wondering where I had seen you before – must have been in the Sorceror’s Magazine.” She dipped her head cordially to the other mage in a polite movement, even as her gaze and tone remained cold and emotionless. “My name is Sorano Granon, and my exceed companion is Hoshi. We are of a mercenary guild here for the job.” Perhaps she would be recognized, as the newest Wizard Saint. It would be understandable if she wasn’t, due to her rather recent assignment of the position.

“So the situation is of abnormal weather activity that seems to be stemming from this underground temple. Residents suspect it may be due to the unrest of the gods, so we are to somehow appease them. We will have to move through the temple to somehow find them and either defeat or appease them to an extent that they will cease their tampering with the world above.” Sorano was immediately down to business, laying out the basic details of the job. “Shall we get going, or are you still feeling sick?”

Post by Caelum Pendragon 29th June 2018, 1:21 pm

Caelum listened to this Sorano girl and Hoshi talk, she blinked as she heard the details of their job being laid down basically like a business proposition to her, this of course though made her chuckle quite a bit before she stretched sighed contently a bit. "Actually... i feel fine now" she said taking a deep breath of air as she started to feel better having the air fill her lungs up to capacity, even if it was old and musty air, the air she tasted was pure and fresh as she was the sky dragon slayer after all.

She soon walked over and patted Sorano on the head as she smirked look dont be so business with this job, you gotta remember something, yes we are mages and our safety does matter but if you cant treat the jobs like business, you have to put your heart and soul behind it, trust me i learned that early on and its helped me out tremendously, i try and teach my daughter that as well. she smiled more before walking forward and looking around the area, so this was technically a temple now huh? Bastets magic really was something.

Bastet who was standing beside Sorano as she chuckled and looked at the two as Caelum walked forward a bit "Don't worry, Caelum acts like that all the time, she looks after her fellow mages to make sure they have fun and actually get home safe, so trust me when i say that she actually does care and does take this job very seriously ok Sorano-chan?" Bastets words were true, the moon cat companion of Caelum wouldnt lie really about what she said especially to a fellow mage.

Caelum though was looking around the area as she was surveying the place, she could tell that there is kinda an ancient feel of the place but something was up, something though didnt feel right, she knew that Sorano told her that there was these...gods apparently, though she purposely said it out loud for all to hear, which Bastet, being a moon goddess would agree with, "Wow...some gods they had here...they would mess up the weather, mess up peoples lives for what? cause they got a thorn in their side or a complex that they gotta be able to do something like this to make them feel better? maybe i should have a few words with these gods to see what their deal is" she chuckled as she cracked her knuckles as she was ready to go on down to see where these gods slept at and give them a wake up call they couldnt forget really. "Hey Sorano! You Hoshi and Bastet come on, lets go wake up these gods ok" she smirked inviting them on.

Nodding in satisfaction as the stranger announced her state of wellbeing, Sorano waited for the verdette to stretch and accustom herself to the underground environment. The area seemed fairly plain at the moment, crusty stone temple walls marked with paths of greenery and moss. A slide of her booted foot on the ground proved the slippery texture of the algae-like growth, and her hair hanging heavy and damp over her neck was an obvious sign of humidity. The air was stuffy and uncomfortable, indicative of rather tropical conditions - something that could be troublesome to the mages. Fiore had few locations of tropical nature, and as such, the fairy mages were unnacustommed to the environment.

The stranger, on the other hand seemed perfectly at ease, gulping a deep, comfortable breath of air. Had she an ability that eased her condition within the temple? Ah well, it wasn't necessary to ask at the moment. Perhaps Sorano could inquire of the topic a while later, being abruptly jerked from her thoughts at Caelum's brisk approach. A firm pat generously applied to the letter mage's head evoked a quick snicker from Hoshi as the slayer's mage delivered a brisk lecture.

Ah...if only she knew of the youth's condition. Being incapable of emotion, putting "heart and soul" into a task was unfortunately not an option at this point. Even so, the girl nodded along dutifully until the woman stepped aside to survey the area. Bastet's comment would be acknowledged by Sorano with a calm nod, and a light peal of laughter from the tabby exceed. "It's fine, Bastet, I mean Sorano's gotta open up and let herself enjoy life eventually, right?" With a lighthearted wink, Hoshi alighted softly on her companion's head gently and let her wings disappear in a flicker of light.

"Come on, we should get going, 'kay?"
The feline tapped the letter mage's head lightly with a paw and Sorano stepped after Caelum obediently.

Walking down a damp hallway, the guild master calmly surveyed the carvings that adorned the walls on either side. Fearsome natural disasters, mighty gods, and tiny humans fleeing their thunderous footsteps were depicted in astonishing detail. While the plant growth suggested otherwise, the art looked to have been done recently. What exactly had changed here recently? Walking along quietly, the came to the end of the hallway, the narrow corridor expanding into a wide courtyard filled with towering statues. "Interesting..." Moving forward to observe the careful handiwork, Sorano crouched gently only to be suddenly pulled backwards in a rough move from Hoshi. Something had burst from within the statue, exploding out through the monstrous gapping mouth of the stone god.

Caelum blinked as she saw the monster burst from the statue as she blinked and pulled out her sword and smiled as you could audibly hear the click of a gun as it fired from her sword, The Red Queen, as it launched all 12 explosive bullets from her gunblade as it hit the monster forcing it away from Sorano and Hoshi, the monster skidded to a halt as it turned and it looked at the Sky Dragon slayer as she smirked and sheathed her sword and pulled up her fists clenching them tightly as she chuckled with a mischievous smirk on her face.

Bastet was near to Sorano and Hoshi as she smiled and looked at the two Fairytail mages as she held up her hands and with that two swords of light, but it was moonlight, thing was Bastet was the goddess of the moon as she smiled and then rushed at this monster, which was to be a rock elemental, as she launched herself and stabbed into the rocky surface of the elemental as it shook her side to side as Caelum rushed in as she had wind like claws on her arms as she started slashing at the monster keeping its attention so that Sorano and Hoshi can join in on the excitement of fighting a monster and truth be told pissing off a deity in its own temple, Caelum never had much respect for them... well besides Bastet, mainly cause most of them have a high and mighty attitude and she wanted to just slap the hell out of them or dropkick them out a window really

"Hey Sorano why not give us a hand and join in on this hahah!" he laughed as she started slicing at the rock monster, noted that she was more powerful against those that were made of earth or rock creatures really, and you could see the claws were chipping away at the creatures body of rock as she then would attempt to jump up at the monster but was smacked down to the ground as she oofed and bounced away but growled sliding as she rushed and jumped at the creature and drop kicked the being at a wall near Sorano as Bastet jumped off leaving the swords to impale the creature further but it still was fighting as it growled more and pulled itself out of the wall which had a bit of an indent from the impact from Caelums dropkick "Sorano Hoshi! its next to you take it by surprise! this is your chance!" the moon goddess said acknowledging Soranos position to the monster having a very good flanking position that could prove very good to defeating this creature.

Instantly, Caelum went to work with a bang as she launched a volley of bullets from her gunblade. It quickly threw the creature away from them, its rock body crashing against the ground for a moment before turning back, Caelum smirking back at it with confidence in her every stance. Bastet smiled cheerfully next to the Fairy mages, and extracted two swords of moonlight to fight. Moonlight-based magic, huh? The cat woman charged quickly forward, stabbing into the elemental before Caelum reached in for an attack as well.

At the suddenly exclaimed comment from Caelum, Sorano nodded as well, joining in the battle after a moment’s observation. The slayer mage’s powerful moves chipped away steadily at the monster, and punted the creature into the wall before it shoved itself off back at them. This move would leave its rocky flank open to the duo to attack. In a quick move, a burst of powerful heat shot out from the letter mage’s fingers as she wove a word through the air, flames hurtling itself into the rock elemental. Sorano’s magic and abilities were designed in order to take care of an opponent quickly in fewer moves instead of with successive melee attacks, and it showed as the creature grew more and more brittle and dry, larger bits already fractured by Caelum’s attacks falling off cleanly. However, instead of stopping after a minor attack, the flames roared up to engulf several statues around the area, stone heads crashing to the ground in a great clatter. By the time the flames ceased, the elemental was a skeleton of its former self and was easily taken care of with a couple of hard knocks from the girl’s knives. What had happened there?

“Alright, let’s keep going, but we should probably be careful.” The emotionless mage looked back up, eyes cold as always before angling her head up ahead once more. More statues lined the courtyard, and she contemplated what should be done next. “Based on my attack from before, the attacks and magic I cast seems to be far more powerful than normal. Might want to be careful about that.” Edging down through the rubble that filled the courtyard, she placed her bracelet on the stones, testing its information.

Caelum didnt really even realize that her attacks had done way more damage then what they usually normally did, that would make sense why they were able to tank that golem like monster of stone so quickly. "Huh....strange, now that you mention it, my attacks seemed to be doing more then what they usually did now since we got down here, i wonder why?"She watched as Sorano walked over placing her necklace down and checking the area. Well the dragon slayer would too also check the area, but on her own way too, she would take a good hefty deep breath through her mouth and you could see a swirl of air entering through her lips and into her lungs before stopping and soon she exhaled and it felt like electricity was charging through her system.

WHOOOOOAZAH! What a charge! that felt like i had inhaled a lightning bolt...i wonder what is making the magic more intense here?" Caelum felt tingles shiver all down her spine and down to her toes, and it felt so good to her. Bastet on the other hand was checking the area with her cat like reflexes jumping up on the exposed ledges of the floors above the courtyard that they were in as she looked around and waved her hands through the air as she literally could feel the energy concentrate on her finger tips "Hey Sorano.....? up here on the ledges im seeing multiple doors, do you think theres multiples rooms with monsters and goodies here??" her feline nature showing through a bit as she was excited at the notion of treasures abound for her and the group.

Speaking of which, Caelum went back to the broken body of the golem as she started rummaging through the broken remains of what was their opponent. She lift multiple pieces of the Golem as she tilted her head and huffed disappointed "well...that was a bust and a half, no need to check the golems body, this thing doesnt even have any crystals at all on its body or in it" She then made her way over to Sorano and as she was doing this ritual like thing she soon peeked over her shoulder and then said "Ok then...whats this suppose to do? it just seems like an ordinary necklace and such, whats it suppose to help us with that we couldnt normally do??" she asked with a bit of interest piqued in her voice as magical items and creatures really those were the things in this world that truly fascinated her and her daughter Shizuka so to learn more about a magical item well why not learn it now and use that knowledge for later, that would make the most sense.

As the gem slid against the rock of one of the statues, Sorano slowed her steps, letting the artificial voice speak into her mind. “Magically enhanced stone, hollow, and created around a thousand and thirty years ago.” Chirping out monotone facts into the letter mage’s ears through her matching earrings, she frowned, listening on. “A statue of Tessera, a dormant elemental god.” Hearing nothing of too much interest, the letter mage would sigh and lift her wrist up to the air. As the bracelet’s gem sparkled faintly in the dim temple light, it began reciting data about the air quality. “Twice the amount of elemental energy than the average Earthland levels. The air is easily volatile if magic is utilized.” As the voice started on the boring facts of the exact percentages the air possessed of each type of element, Sorano reached up to tweak the gem in her earring, turning the voice off.

Turning around to find that Caelum had inhaled a huge breath of the magically enhanced air, she looked up to observe the doors that the slayer mage had pointed out. “Ah…yes, perhaps we could indeed explore up there.”

Already, Hoshi’s wings brought her soaring up with Bastet to peer through the hallways and doors with cautious movements. Far less daring than Bastet, the tabby only fluttered tentatively. “Ooh, that might be cool Bastet, but…won’t monsters be awfully dangerous?” The tabby frowned at the thought, swooping back down to where Sorano stood. From the letter mage’s observations, these two seemed very much like mercenaries – always looking for something of value. That was good then – those who cared about wealth were easier people to understand. After all, the letter mage herself ran a guild full of mercenaries. These were familiar mindsets to her, and thus comforting in a strange way.

“Actually, the gems relay basic information about the nature of whatever it talks. As far as what I’ve gleaned, it appears that the air has double the amount of elemental ethernanos than normal. The statue was also of a dormant god by the name of Tessera. Perhaps that is the one who has caused us so much trouble?” Sorano tilted her head to the side in thought, then let Hoshi carry her up to one of the higher levels. “Let’s explore up here like you suggested. Maybe we’ll find some clues as to what’s going on, or even find this Tessera.” The letter mage’s shoes tapped softly on the stone ground of the temple, the hallway leading into darkness the further they went. Out of curiosity, the girl would push gently against a door, only to blink in surprise as a whirl of fire and wind shot out at her. The girl managed to deal with the surprise with her buckler shield, tucking down and rolling to the side before throwing her fingers through the air, summoning a barrage of water bullets at the elementals.

Caelum would see the elementals attack Sorano with their attacks as she blocked them with her buckler before she blasted them back with her magics. Bastet was actually near to the mage as she sent out her own magic attacks of moon like beams flying quickly at them in a quick succession, as some pierced through the exteriors of these elementals leaving some holes through them as some roared in pain and anger before sending more attacks their way, only for the fire to dissipate and the air attacks be held still as Caelum held up her hand keeping them at bay as she smiled as her eyes dilated a bit, like the dragon slayer that she was, the extra magical energy in the air almost felt like ice coursing through her veins. As she took in a deeper breath, eyes turning a bit different, kinda pinkish in tint as her cheeks swelled up before she unleashed her Sky Dragon Roar in a more enhanced way and more powerful too, the force almost felt like a tornado vibrating the hallway entirely as some rocks from the ceiling to the floor as the elementals were caught up in the vortex being tosses and thrashed about as they were sent through one of the adjacent walls breaking and shattering the brick wall that unbeknownst to them lead into another room that was much larger then the hall that they were in, the room the elementals landed in though looked quite a bit different then the rest of the place from what they saw, there seemed to be objects and carvings on the walls and even some type of storage chests there too, if anything, if these elementals were taken out quickly they could enjoy the spoils of there fight or if anything possibly even find some good knowledge to help them out, either way it was a good score, albeit lucky, still though a damn good find.

out of the 10 elementals that were there, a good 4 of them dissipated from the collision while the others laid there in a daze and stunned state as Caelum stood back with Sorano as she smiled feeling like an electrically charged outlet after that attack, she then placed her hand on Soranos shoulder as she motioned to her wanting her to have some fun to and taking out these elementals "Go on and have some fun, we take these guys out and check that room, there may be some things in there leading to some type of clues to stopping whats going on here" she noted to the mage as she stood back and stretched letting her know that she would have her back in case anything went wrong with the elementals there as well as an opportunity to recharge a little bit of energy after that last big attack she just did.

Elements in Disarray [Job/Caelum] Empty Re: Elements in Disarray [Job/Caelum]

    Post by ivyleaf33 17th September 2018, 6:42 am

Caelum and Bastet quickly went to work, bodies moving gracefully as if created to fight. It was an ease of movement that the awkward teen would probably never be able to achieve, looking on with a gently tilted head as she observed their movement briefly before joining in as well. With roars of magic and anguish from the elementals, the place had become a state of organized chaos. Once more with curiosity in her eyes, Sorano eyed Caelum as she sucked in a gulp of the enhanced air, unleashing a great roar of energy, tornado spinning down the halls of the temple. Bracing themselves against the vortex, Sorano and Hoshi would commence a slow, careful movement only when the roaring and crashing died down, peering through the smoke of the debris to peer into a much larger room ahead.

Objects filled the space, carvings decorating the walls that were lined with strange-looking storage chests. It could be assumed that the Rose mages were interested in possible loot from the area, judging by the cloud of sentiment wavering about Caelum in waves of auric energy. However, such riches was not what the bookworm mage was looking for, and she entered carefully, in an almost reverent manner. Still minding her steps carefully due to the presence of stunned-looking elementals, Sorano let her eyes trace the carvings, her magic rushing to translate the intricate words written on the walls.

As her mind pieced together the structure of the ancient language, the letter mage nodded absentmindedly at the green-haired mage’s comments, letting her senses roam the area. Despite being of a higher magical ranking than Caelum, Sorano was certainly thankful for her help. While she was more than capable of handling combat herself, the woman’s quick, easy fighting left plenty more energy and time for the letter mage to put into investigation.

Letting dark, cold eyes wash over the mosaics of great, godly feats, a story would slowly be put into place of a fearsome, jealous god that was impossible to appease. Its terrible reign would strike fear into the hearts of villagers, until a temple was built and offerings brought constantly to appease its appetite for attention. However, as Sorano thought back to all the gods she’d read about, Tessera had never once been called to her attention before. Essentially, so great and jealous a god had eventually been forgotten? How ironic. Perhaps that was the source of its anger.

The letter mage returned to her partners, giving a brief summary of her discoveries. “The Tessera god was apparently a very powerful and jealous being who demanded great offerings from his people. From what I know, however, it would be considered a forgotten god, providing a motivation for why the weather is now changing so drastically. Gods don’t like to be forgotten, not jealous ones.”

Outside the room Caelum and Bastet were keeping an eye out as they quickly dispatched the elementals that were stunned sending them back to their rightful plane of exsistance then their own. As they did so Caelum listened to Sorano as she went on to tell the group that it was a jealous god and it was super pissed off and now it was taking its anger out on the local area, this got a irritated sounding tsk from her as she crossed her arms and started looking at the material on the all, not really understanding it herself before looking into some of the chests finding scrolls and and more etchings as she grew irritated looking at them before she just slammed the lids and stepped out of the room and leaned against the wall.

"Of course a god gets mad when its forgotten...but being a god doesnt give it the right to make human lives miserable and practically almost unliveable, that takes it right of being a god away and if i have to ill clock it so hard that itll go back to sleep for a hundred more years or beat it until it said it was sorry" Caelum said as she looked back at Sorano before stepping back into the room and pulling out some scrolls and some of the etchings, "where the wall is busted maybe this can help you figure out how we can stop this thing, unless you wanna go with the tride and true beat it up style, which you have no objections from me with that one." the green haired dragon slayer laughed saying as she handed the fair tail mage those items as Bastet was sealing off the room as she held up her hands before a projection of light emanated around the room making a barrier like light shield as she made sure it covered every gap and hole possible so nothing could get in and disturb the group "Just say the word and ill drop the shield and we can head to the next area of this...strange place really" she shook her head and rubbed her temples before she went and sat down on one of the nearby chests to try and rest a little bit while they were figuring out a game plan where as Caelum was helping the other mage by giving her as much material she needed with the scrolls and etchings provided and anything else that Sorano might need to help them figure out how to stop this Tessera god being entity thing whatever the hell it was, sounded like just a pissed off demon trying to get its way really to Caelum by this point.

Looking irritated by the motives of the god, as Sorano had just helpfully explained, Caelum stalked outside the room, leaning against the mildewed wall. It seemed that the slayer mage was not the most patient of creatures, evidently pissed at what she considered to be the God’s selfish and childish reasoning. With a rather dramatic statement, she ended her brief tirade and returned to the letter mage’s side, pulling out some of the scrolls and etchings. Sorano took them wordlessly, nodding halfheartedly to Caelum’s voice. Meanwhile, Bastet raised her hands, creating a barrier of light to ensure the group would be well-protected – certainly a smart tactic that drew no complaint from the Fairy Tail mage.

    “Thanks, Bastet!”
Hoshi chirped up in place of her master’s silence, alighting on one of the chests to watch Sorano work her magic. The letter mage was truly the most at home when surrounded by piles and piles of texts, the many letters and languages dotting the pages more precious to her than any gemstone. While Caelum’s suggestion of simply finding the god and beating it up was certainly an effective way to go about this, Sorano did enjoy the prospect of having to spend a little bit longer here, immersed in material. There would be plenty of time for beating up self-centered monsters later, anyways.

“From the texts here, it appears that Tessera was known for having an uncontrollable temper. There’s several myths and legends written here about them, and most of their defeats seemed to have stemmed from rage so strong they could not think straight. However, Tessera’s physical prowess seems to hold almost no weaknesses. Being a multi-elemental god, they are resistant to many forms of elemental magic.” The letter mage’s eyes seemed to dilate as they digested page after page of information, trying to gather the most data she could get. “Based on the blueprints of the temple I’ve found, the throne room is located two floors below, in a grand chamber that should be impossible to miss. It would logically be where we can find Tessera.” In one smooth motion, Sorano pushed herself up from her knelt position on the floor, slipping the scrolls and blueprint into one of the mirrors she carried around. “Alright, I suppose we know where our next destination is now?”

The letter mage glanced about her one more time before approaching the edge of the barrier, flashing an emotionless ok-hand sign at the cat goddess. “Thank you, Miss Bastet.”
