    Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on Tue 07 Aug 2018, 2:52 pm

    Job Details:

The skies were especially gloomy this afternoon, no sun to be seen, omninous clouds threatened to pour down on Nessa. She genuinely hoped that the weather would remain dry though, she wasn't exactly dressed for rain. She was trekking along the cursed lands, her white trainers covered in dirt as she made her way to her destination. Hair tied back in it's usually ponytail, white band and rose in place. She wore a white long-sleeved top, and little denim shorts. Something easy for her to fight in, but didn't provide much warmth. Fortunately her magic took care of that much. Dresses were obviously cuter, but even Nessa had the sense to be practical, she couldn't exactly tell what would happen. At least if she had full mobility, that was something. Her favourite white satchel was bouncing on her shoulder, it's contents rattling loudly. Filled with all sorts of useful bits and bobs, flasks of water, bandages and so on. Enough for both her and the mystery mage that she had yet to meet.

Having fully recovered from the intense toll on her body that had been caused by the Valkyrie contract, Nessa felt as if she was finally ready to take on another job. She was eager to test out her new magic, so much so that she had trained with the girls a little already. However even a little training was not as effective as full blown combat. She was intrigued to see how well they would work together on a real mission. The job that had caught her eye had been somewhat peculiar. Sightings of mechanical creatures appearing around towns, causing havoc for the village folk. She often dealt with more mammalian monsters or lower class bandits. Facing such an odd creature would prove to be a new challenge for Nessa, Mechanical beings are like robots right? She thought to herself densely, as she travelled towards the Lycan woods. Having been dropped off on the outskirts of the cursed lands, she was now making her way on foot.

The job had been a little higher than her capabilities, as frustrating as that had been to learn. All it meant was that she had needed to send out the request for a mage to join her. Using the guilds facilities, a request had been sent and fortunately it had been accepted quite quickly. Although she had forgotten to ask back at the guild who it was that would be joining her. Just excited to be doing the job in the first place. Supposedly it was someone from The West Fiore Trading Company, Nessa's mind wandered, barely paying attention to her surrounding. Her mind filled with the wonderings of whom might be joining her. Questions rolling out one after the other; Man or Woman? Magical Type? Would they be nice? Could they become friends? Admittedly, the Starlight maiden hoped so. She always enjoyed meeting new people, since joining Fairy Tail she had so many new friends. Then again, there was also the possibility they wouldn't get along at all. Which would prove for a long and tiresome mission. Oh well, either way, I get to practice my new magic. She thought happily, no letting the niggling doubts get to her.

She arrived at the edge of the Lycan woods, she sighed, last time she was here she had taken on a Wood Vulcan in order to rescue a missing girl. That had been one hell of a difficult job for her, she wondered if she would manage okay this time. She was glad at the very least that she wasn't on her own. It occurred to her that seeing as the outskirts of the Lycan woods were so vast, it might take some time for her companion to find her. She opened her palm, a little ball of light appearing, she decided to help her fellow mage find her. Ordering her Starlight Guide to find the person who would be taking on this job with her, and lead them to her. The little floating ball of light shot off, beginning it's search. Nessa leaned against a tree, she waited, continuing to daydream in the process.

Johann sighed, staring into the square mirror on the wall before him, one hand on his neck as he turned his head from side to side, gazing at his own reflection. How could something like this even happen in the first place ? Well, Mars knew the answer, but it wasn't like he was gonna spill the secret to the now not-so-old-man. Johann's body had not just been deaged, Mars had also taken the irreversible liberties to perform some "adjustments", and as a result, the life of Johann, the Vice President of the West Fiore Trading Company, had been turned around completely in just a single day. There had not just been physical adjustments, like the removal of scars, the gunshot scar on the left side of his chest he had sustained in one of his first missions as a mage having vanished overnight, but also mental adjustments, thought it seemed like this aspect had been much more unpredictable, even for the self proclaimed demonic lord of war that had been sealed inside Jo, with side effects that had already been ... noticeable, to say the least, but would remain unexplored in entirety still, at least for the time being. Though, as one would assume, having the own personality, the own being altered by a being of immense, enigmatic powers in no more than a single day was quite the shock, and the Vice President still wasn't sure how to deal with this at all. Was this even still him ? Mars had assured that at least the mental changes had been made unconsciously when Ruvel, Jo's fellow Vice President, had tried to play with a matter he understood nothing about, modifying the runic seal on his chest without first considering the long term consequences for the cage that had Mars safely locked away and limited his influence over Johann to a minimum, instead of fixing the partially damaged cage removing it entirely, causing Mars to be instead locked to the old man as a vessel. Apparently, from the way the demon had explained it, their souls had merged. Just like that. And as things stood ... he couldn't exactly change that fact ... at all. He was neither powerful enough to lock away one of the 7 divine seals, nor was his understanding of runesmithing nearly advanced enough to even attempt such a feat on his own. He would need an entire guild worth of mages versed in the art to maybe, maybe get some results. But ... as far as he knew, there was no such thing here in Fiore, a guild specializing on runery, and so, he had but one option left: Live with the fact that how he looked like and who he was had forever been changed.

And not all these changes were positive, either. It was obvious. Where he had had a distinct preference for etiquette and formality before it had been replaced with a stoic, indifferent behaviour. Where there had been respect for the structures of authority before ... he could now care less. Perhaps it could be considered thinking more efficiently, outside of the mundane limiters of concepts such as compassion or morals, but at the same time ... thinking without feeling could be more than dangerous. One thing the mage was sure of, however. He had to get out. Right now. He needed time, he needed space. Somewhere far away from the West Fiore Trading Company on Tolgalen. A little venture to sort his thoughts. A little time he could use to find himself again. And there was but one way he knew that would help him do exactly that.

A short trip, a teleportation spell and a bit of time later Johann von Weiss, dressed in his white West Fiore Trading Company suit with the guild pin on his chest, the white, silken runed gloves on his hands and the azure rapier by his side found himself in the Cursed Lands, getting closer to the location the job had specified. To be honest, he hadn't even looked at the details of the job, his sole focus had been getting out of the guildhall as fast as possible and having an excuse to actually do so, signing up on the first thing he could get his hands on. Correspondingly to that fact he, although it maybe wouldn't be the best to admit, knew little of what to expect. He was confident that he, especially now that Mars had also modified is magical capabilities, could take on any thread coming his way, though ... sometimes raw, unrefined violence wouldn't be the answer. He sighed. Maybe he had acted with too much haste ? It was too late to turn back now, anyway. But ... he also had to find this assigned job partner of his, which could've proven somewhat difficult, even with his extremely heightened senses due to just the sheer vastness and nature of the Cursed Lands, had it not been for a peculiar little ball of floating light. At first Johann assumed it was hostile, these were the Cursed Lands, after all, and will-o-wisps were not unheard of, his hand rushing to the blade at his side, but at second glance the thing seemed nice, almost playful, or maybe that was just his imagination, floating away as soon as it had spotted him in a certain direction, the silver haired male deciding to take the chance.

And sure enough, the light had lead him to ... well, someone. He could neither confirm nor deny that the young girl, maybe around her twenties or so, was in fact the mage he was looking for, and so the best approach in this situation was to simply inquire with the person in question. "Good day, young Miss. Johann von Weiss, Vice President of the West Fiore Trading Company. I'm supposed to meet a fellow mage here in the area and, uhm, would that perhaps be you ?", Jo having trouble to keep up the more well mannered approach this time. Where he would have had no trouble with this in the past ... now it just seemed so redundant to him. "And I'm Mars, Second Se-", a giggling, distorted voice rang from the same mouth that had introduced the VP just moments before, quickly interrupted by the man speaking up with his own voice "And I'm accompanied by a friend of mine, Mars, who due to unfortunate circumstances seems to be locked inside this body and should know better when to speak and when to keep to himself.", Jo spoke harshly. "Tseehehe, but where would be the fun in that ?". Jo sighed once again. He just hoped the girl wouldn't be turned away by this rather ... strange sight, lest he would have to complete a job alone.

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on Wed 08 Aug 2018, 5:46 am

As Nessa stared off into space, awaiting the arrival of her companion. Her right hand rose up, gently fiddling with the little blue crystal that hung around her neck. She sighed deeply, her eyes transfixed on nothing, she continued to day dream for a little while. Her delicate features gazing on blankly, almost like she was in a trance. If it wasn't for the twiddling of her necklace, a passing individual might think she was asleep with her eyes open. It was only when the soft sound of footsteps reached her ears, did she blink the daydream away. Glancing over in the direction of the sound, she spotted her little Starlight Guide floating in the air, heading towards her. Following the ball of her light was a man in his late twenties. With silver hair, not that different in tone to her own. As a lover of clothes, Nessa couldn't help but glance over what he was wearing. The man was dressed in a very professional looking suit, dressed mainly in white. Completed with white gloves and some type of magnificent sword at his side. He kind of reminded her a bit of a knight, maybe he was one, she considered.

The closer he got, the more she had to raise her chin to look at him, he was very much taller than her. This only seem to magnify his presence in her eyes, although he didn't seem hostile or displeased, there was still something about him. Her instincts were telling her she was in the presence of a powerful person, someone much stronger than herself. She offered the gentleman her signature friendly smile, listening as he greeted her. She hadn't doubted that this was her companion, her guide had never led her wrong before. If for some reasons it couldn't get to it's target, she would sense it. It was just how the spell worked. She nodded eagerly at his question, holding out her hand in the offer of a friendly shake. It was a bit formal, she was much more of a hugging type of girl, but that would have definitely been too much. The Starlight guide floated around above her head, dancing about happily as she spoke.

"Yes, that would be me. Pleasure to meet you Mr Weiss, I'm Nessa Cordelia Lux of Fairy Tail." She replied politely, lowering her hand at this point, regardless of whether he had shook it or not. She was surprised to be standing in front of such an important sounding person, Vice President, that had to be a big role right? She suddenly felt just a tad self conscious, she hadn't really dressed to impress. However it was too late to go home and change, she would just have to suck it up. She was greeted by a second voice from him, slightly different, distorted. She blinked in surprise as it seemed two people were talking through the man. Although the secondary voice had taken her by surprise, she wouldn't go as far as to say that it bothered her. After all, everyone had their little quirks, including her. She took a moment before acknowledgement the reasoning he gave her, smiling once more. "Well nice to meet you Mars," She offered additionally.

She looked up the little ball of light. As she did, it floated down so it was a little away from her face. "Can you show us where to go?" Her voice was soft and sweet, as though addressing an old friend. This question was directed at the light, the ball seemed to bounce up and down for a moment, before darting off into the trees. Staying close enough so they could still see it. She looked back at Johann, "Shall we head off?" She asked before she began walking into the forest. Now that they had met up, they had to go and find these 'mechanical beings' and deal with them. The woods were as creepy as always, eerily quiet and host to only the darkest of creatures. She couldn't help the little chill she felt as she made her way through them, she wasn't really good with creepy places. Especially the kind of settings you would find in ghosts stories, should an apparition appear, Johann would witness her scream like a banshee before passing out completely. But that's not going to happen! She told herself, pushing away any thoughts of ghosts and ghouls. She really didn't need to freak herself out before the mission had even started. She didn't wanted to look like a coward in front of her fellow mage, that would be embarrassing for both her and her guild. She looked over at him as they walked along the woods, seeing no reason as to why they should travel in silence she allowed her thoughts to become spoke queries.

"So Mr Weiss, If I'm honest, I'm not really familiar with the workings of other guilds. Vice President, what does that entail exactly?" The question was mainly one to sate her curiosity on how important this guy really was. She wondered if it was an serious as the position of an Ace, although he seemed completely different to the Aces she was used to. With Rina's perky nature and Mura's chilled one, they seemed a lot less naturally intimidating than this guy. However she was very much willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, for all she knew, the guy could be a big softie.

Occasionally she would glance forward at the guide, in case it stopped or made any sudden turns. She had no worries about the spells ability to maintain itself, it was completely harmless and required so little magic that if it were to be attacked. The ball would just vanish and  reappear, there were only three reasons it might disappear completely. The first was if it had completed it's task and was no longer required, the second was that if Nessa ordered it to, and the third was that if for some reason Nessa were to fall unconscious. If none of those things occurred, the ball of light would remain, endlessly floating around.

Extending his own hand, the man shook the girls, "Heyo, Nessa. Just Johann is fine.", followed by nothing but another chuckle from Mars. The demon seemed pleased with his own introduction. "So, you're a Fairy Tail mage, hm ? Gotta say ... I'm not too terribly familiar with your guild, but I met some of your fellow mages before, so with that, nice to meet you" "Tssehehe ...". Johann already knew that this mission would become a feat, not due to the girl that called herself Nessa, but for Mars and his constant presence. It was truly a pain ... but it looked like the Vice President had to get comfortable with the demon, there wasn't really anything he could do about him, after all ... at least for the time being. "So this little ball of light is a companion of sorts to you ? Seems useful", Jo asked as Nessa talked to it, the thing reacting in the same playful manner before starting to float in another direction, responding "Right behind you, lead the way", following the Fairy Tail mage who, in turn, was following her light. It was now he took a first good look at their surroundings. Dark, as if in eternal twilight, befitting of a place called the "Cursed Lands", though not entirely convincing, either. It didn't really feel too threatening to the mage, but he wasn't exactly sure if that was Mars' doing, the merging having changed his sense of perception or if it was simply his nature. Slowly making their way into the woods, their surroundings, however, changed. The temperature dropped, the already dark environment got darker and the whole place had a rather eerie atmosphere about it. Jo didn't know if it was just his gut, or his heightened senses, but he could feel something was going wrong here, and that ancient magic was at work ...

Wondering to himself as he stared into the distance, daydreaming almost as he was lost in thoughts, the sudden sound of the girl's voice ripping him from this state "O-oh, yeah, I forget, The West Fiore Trading Company isn't really a legal guild per se, hm. Well ... Vice President essentially means second in command after the CEO of the WFTC, who leads Tolgalen. If the West Fiore Trading Company was a guild ... I guess it would be comparable to a position as a guild ace ? I share this position with my colleagues, Ruvel and Sol, though. As for what I do ... you could say the position is more paperwork than anything ...", he gave the girl a smile, "... but you gotta get out from time to time as well, don't you ? That's why I'm here. I hope that answers your question.", in fact quite happy that his job partner would show interest in what he had, over the course of the recent year, adopted as his family. Smiling weakly as he reminisced the time he had spent with his fellow guildmates he kept walking ... until, a little while later, a sudden, yet defined sound reached his ears. The grinding of gears. "Nessa. Stop for a second", he froze immediately, hoping the girl would to the same as he listened, closed his eyes, and activated his special sensory. Every breath, every tiny bit of movement within a good distance of him he could sense, envision, and locate. "Looks like we found something. There's a structure a good 100m east of here, behind those trees.", pointing in the direction, "Also, it seems like surrounding this structure are various ... constructs, I guess. They seem to be made of metal, though that is all I can sense from here.", he explained, eyes still closed before opening them again, revealing that they had turned completely black, his pupils the only thing retaining colour, glowing in a deep, crimson hue before the change slowly receded. "Finaaaally some action", a contrived yawn from Mars ringing through the back of his head as he turned to the girl. "So, any particular way you want to approach this ?", asking before determining the next course of action. If she already had a plan ... he of course wouldn't hold her back and join her in her endeavour.

Nessa appreciated the small courtesy of shaking her hand, it wasn't much but he could have easily rejected her. She nodded as he instructed her to refer to him as Johann, pleased with the familiarity. Calling someone Mister, Miss or Sir just felt so cold to her. "Oh really? Who have you met so far?" She asked, wondering if they had any mutual acquaintances. She was still pretty new, so there were a fair few fairy tail mages she didn't really know. But she felt for the most part, she had integrated herself quite well.

As he questioned her about Starlight Guide, she glanced over to it, an amused look on her face. "I mean, technically it's a spell but... I guess it's a little weird. But I kind of consider my magic as a living being, when I use it. I just.... I feel like it's got a life of it's own you know." She explained, it was strange but the gift that was he magic had been one that descending through her family for a long time. They had always treated it as alive, even if outsiders just saw it as element. Nessa loved and respected the magic greatly, and was always thankful to it when it got her out of a dangerous situation. She was just a little quirky like that.

The two of them proceeded to walk through woods, Nessa watched her footing carefully. Avoiding catching them on any rocks or branches. She had a tendency to fall over a lot, which although she was used to. For someone reason she really didn't want to fall in front of Johann, he just seemed so composed. To fall in front of someone like him, it just felt like it would be a greater humiliation than normal. She listened to his explanation of his role, looking at him in awe as he broke it down for her. So her suspicion had been right, he was an ace. It explained a lot, why his energy felt that way. Just so much more than what she was used to. She wondered what it would be like when he used his magic and noted to do her best not to get in his way.

"I see, that's really impressive. You must be very important to your guild, I'm sure they appreciate your efforts greatly." She told him, feeling like where she to work under such a man she would feel the same. He seemed like a decent enough guy and he clearly worked hard to benefit his guild.

Upon his sudden order to stop, she became instantly still. Straightening her spine, she tried to move as little as possible. Wondering what was going on, it was then a small sound reached her ears. What is that... She frowned, trying to place the noise. Machinery...? She thought, glancing around. It was then that Johann began to talk, explaining what they had discovered. She looked in the direction he was talking of, she couldn't quite see what he was talking about. But she felt that she should trust his word. Starlight guide stopped floating ahead, she sent a little order to it and it dissipated, returning to the sky. It wasn't necessary anymore, it seemed they had arrived at the location of their target.

As he questioned her ideas, she bit her lip considering her options, the thing is it was dark and her magic wasn't exactly inconspicuous. "My primary magic doesn't really have an element of surprise to it. It's pretty bright, so enemies tend to spot it before it gets to them. Plus we don't really know what we're up against, It'll be hard to gage what spell to use until I'm closer." She admitted to him, not happy about her disadvantage, she thought for a moment. Then an idea came to mind, she smiled, pleased to remember she had something else she could now use. Or rather, someone else.

The Norse symbol on the back of her back began to glow, lighting up the hair that covered it. Nessa's eyes began to change, her irises disappearing, becoming completely white. She spoke, and like when Mars spoke her voice had changed. As though several women were speaking at once. "Tiphanae."  There was a sudden breeze that filled the area, gushing through the trees hard enough to whip her hair off her back. The wind began to spin in front of them, the air become distorted from sight. As it settled down, a beautiful woman stood there, with long fair hair and angelic wings. Suited in various pieces of armour and a long sword at her hilt. The wind settled once more and Nessa returned to normal. She looked over at Tiphanae, as the Valykrie offered her a warm smile. "It is good to see you, Nessa Lux, how may I assist you?"

Nessa quickly explained the details of the job to Tiphanae, rushing through it just enough so the basics were covered. Once she finished Tiphanae glanced over at Johann, she took him in. "I assume this is not a foe."  Nessa shook her head,

"No, this is Johann, he's here to help." She told the Valkyrie, Tiphanae eyes seemed to rake over the man, a small mischievous smirk on her lips. "He's strong, strong and handsome. Careful Nessa Lux, you don't want to add another point to that triangle of yours."  She said to the girl with a teasing wink, Nessa face turned beetroot, she stomped her foot.

"There is NO triangle." She barked defensively,  "Look forget about that, can you fly above us and keep an eye out. Try to stay hidden though, I'll call for you when the time calls." Tiphanae's smirk never faltered, she nodded, before flapping her strong white wings and shooting upwards. Disappearing into the cover of the trees. Nessa sighed, these Valkyries and their obsession with romance... She thought. She looked at Johann apologetically, "Sorry about that. I let you lead, and follow with Tiph. I'll try to save using my primary magic until we're basically on the targets." She told him, hoping this was acceptable.

    Re: Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Johann on Fri 10 Aug 2018, 9:19 pm

When Nessa shook his hand Johann gave a friendly smile. At least his job partner turned out to be ... surprisingly agreeable. Thinking about some of the other mages he had had to deal with in the past ... well, everyone has their own charm ... in a way. Answering the girl's next question, he took a second to think, unsure if he had missed any mages in his head who hadn't introduced themselves as members of the famous legal guild, Fairy Tail, when he'd met them, but ... well, as it stood, he could only think of two. "Well, for one there would be Althea, who wore your guild mark. A most ... unique person, indeed. Then also someone who called themselves Aven Alveron, whom I couldn't help but admire for his brilliant use of magic ... but, in honesty, not counting you, that's about it", Johann laughed a little nervously, not sure if that was what the girl wanted to hear or if she even knew those people at all.

After that, when the topic shifted to the girl's magic, Johann couldn't help but smirk. It was truly ironic, he couldn't have found better words for himself. "Yeah, I can very much understand how it is when your magic seems to have a life on its own. I was born without magic, you see, and, well, it seems that all magic I possess at current comes from Mars.", the demon chuckled. Well, she didn't have to know it was a demon, and, to be honest, the lord of war wasn't really something that could be considered a curse or a blessing. Perhaps something in between those two states ? Jo had never really thought about it too much ... maybe because he didn't know that Mars had been there for most of his life ? Or maybe due to the fusion that had happened between the two he now had come to realize just how important the other entity inside him actually was ? He wasn't sure ... in any case, he wouldn't waste too much time thinking about it when he had a job to do and a fellow mage to assist.

A short bit of walk and conversation later, Johann was a little startled by Nessa's reply to his explanation. He had never really thought about what he meant to the guild, only what the guild meant to him "H-huh ? I-I mean, I'm sure ... I'm sure they do, heh", scratching the back of his head with a raised hand. Well, Cirven and Ruvel most definitely appreciated how they could load off their paperwork on his desk when the opportunity presented itself ... No, it certainly must've been more than that, he figured. He wouldn't be a Vice President otherwise ... right ? "T-thank you for the kind words", Jo laughed nervously. He truly did appreciate it. In times like these ... he sure could use them.

Another little while later, after Johann had asked about a plan, he listened carefully now that things seemed to have gotten a little more serious. "Uhm, I don't really know if my magic has a natural element of surprise to it or not either, but ... one thing, if this turns into a fight, it seems I have no choice but to either hand control over to Mars and he'll become the dominant personality or we'll share this body as equals. Just a fair warning, he's ... an odd soul, to say the least." Johann spoke with serious and somewhat distant voice. He hadn't used these newfound powers of his too much other than the whole recent incident in Minstrel, so he didn't really know what to expect and figured it would only be adequate to inform Nessa. But ... even though the girl had said that she commanded what the Vice President would think was light, she suddenly flashed with magical energy, speaking what appeared to be a name with a voice that indeed wasn't too far from Mars using Johann as a medium. And sure enough, just a moment later Johann's semi long, Silver hair was blown to a side as a strong breeze, a gust suddenly hit him, coalescing into a tangible form to form ... a woman ? Clad in armour, a sword by her side and wings on her back, her appearance being accompanied by a not very subtle whistle from Mars, "Well isn't she a beauty, hm, old man ?", ringing through the back of Jo's head. Johann only response was a sigh. "So not just a caster, but a summoner as well, hm ? Quite impressive, I must admit" Johann said with a friendly tone while giving the new arrival a short bow. He had seen the complexity and intricacy of summoning magic himself, Ruvel, his fellow VP, commanding it nigh perfectly.

But ... what was the rest about ? A triangle ? The VP definitely found himself lost at the sudden outburst of emotion from the Fairy Tail mage, but it wasn't really his business and if the girl would be uncomfortable talking about it he wouldn't really push the matter. It wasn't his place to know, anyway. The summon though would most certainly add to their strength, and that he would care about. Seeing her fly up, Johann gave Nessa a nod. "Alright. I guess I do have an advantage over whatever constructs these would be in sheer speed, at least it's likely.", Johann almost chuckled. He was known as the local speed demon in the WFTC. "I'll throw myself in the fray and create a distraction that you guys can use to advance. Before we storm off though ...", Johann raised a hand to about shoulder height, removing a glove briefly to reveal the runed hand beneath, the skin almost looking like a good portion of it had been covered by tattoos of blank ink scripture. A moment later, the runes briefly flashed with light and glow, sending out a soft, subtle, almost gentle wave of magic around the VP that rushed to his own and Nessa's form, forming around their right wrists what appeared like a bracelet of runes that glowed in 10 different, vibrant colours. "This you can use to infuse your magic with any of the runes' elements. I need not explain how it works or which elements to use, you simply need to focus on your magic, and you will know. It will provide you with great magical strength. So, guess that means ...", Johann turned towards the source of the noise, the smell of oil and rust, Mars cackling excitedly, his voice echoing through the VP's very being, humming gleefully almost "...Now we're going to waaaar, now we're going to waaaar, tssehehe...", the rune mage drawing his rapier "... see you over there. Mars, you know what to do.", from his mouth echoing the other voice "Won't have to tell me twice".

The air around Johann flickered for a second, booming with magical power before his form exploded into a stream of wind, Johann's body vanishing in a burst of extreme speed that instantly broke the sound barrier with a characteristic, audible crack. Reappearing in a burst of force, Johann blinked, his eyes seeing for the first time what had produced those sounds and smells from earlier. A shifting mass of machines, a few dozens, possibly, what appeared like artificially constructed avians dwelling on the ground while a few machines that almost resembled jellyfish in their build were floating, seemingly stationary, surrounding the structure he had sensed earlier. Now that he could get a good look, it was much more impressive than he had anticipated. An arc of clean, entirely black stone, the space within flashing with blue energy and sparks. Johann could tell what this was, for he used a similar method to travel to his "mansion", a dimensional gateway. The situation seemed worse than anticipated. Whatever this was ... it had come from the other side of this portal, most likely, and they probably wouldn't be too friendly either. Just as the VP finished these thoughts, the machines seemingly sprung to life, the attention turning to the new threat. So those were guards, huh ? Either way, didn't matter too much to either Mars or the VP. "Your turn, demon. Show them what you can do. Suscitatio", Johann spoke the command sharply as his eyes once more turned black, the pupils again shining with bright crimson colour, the runes that normally limited their presence to only the left side of his body digging across his skin, the scripture spreading, burning across all visible flesh before taking the same glow as the VP's eyes, "Showtime".

From the runes on the man's body it looked like liquid metal started to leak out, quickly shifting, engulfing every bit of skin before hardening into what appeared like a scale armour. A gleeful, toothy grin spread across the man's face as machine after machine turned to him, the rattling and shifting of gears suddenly popping up everywhere "Ah, finally, some fresh air. Hey, you metal numbnuts ! I'm over heeereeee ~", Mars shouted for every of these beings to sense, the horde of ... well, "robo-chickens", charging at him while what could only be described as mecha-jellyfish retreated back to the gate, probably about 30 or so avians producing sounds that were not entirely un-chicken-like, though very mechanical in nature. "So that's all ? You let me out to fight birds ? How boring" Mars faked a yawn. "You do not entertain me, artificial creatures. Begone !", waving his hand before him in a sweep motion, the runes on his body, along with his eyes, suddenly changing colour to a deep blue, a thin wave of water bursting from the runes on his hand. The first few rows of these robo-chickens were instantly torn asunder, ripped apart by the sheer pressure of the spell, the next ones simply cut into two pieces cleanly, falling to the ground, motionless before finally, the wave met the earth, throwing up dirt and grass as it dissipated. Mars cackled. If they all were this weak this would be, while not too terribly entertaining, a walk in the park.

She listened to him as he mentioned the other Fairy Tail guild members he had met, nodding along with his comments. "Ah yes, I know Althea, and Aven is actually my teammate. He really does have amazing magic, so much more complicated than mine. " She told him, Aven never ceased to impress her with the way he used his magic, it was so flawless and well manipulated. Much more smoother round the edges than her own techniques, she was much more of a rush in and throw your punches kind of girl. "Honestly, I think you're the first person from the West Fiore Trading Company that I've actually met." She told him. She hadn't had that much interaction outside her own guild, it made for a pleasant change to meet someone new. On top of that he was completely different from what she was used to, making it all the more interesting to interact with him.

Nessa raised her eyebrows in slight surprise when Johann told her about how he was born without magic, having learned her magic from a very early age, she couldn't imagine what it would've been like to live without it. Nessa noticed Johann's startled look by her comment and wondered briefly if she had said something to offend. Re-thinking her words, she tried to work out how to make up for it. However, she was quickly put at ease with Johann's gratitude, she smiled at him. "Oh it's nothing. I know I'm grateful for my aces, it's seems like such a hard job. Personally, I don't know If I could handle it myself," She said with an awkward laugh, not that she hadn't daydreamed about it. But still, taking charge like that and leading others. Was it really suited for someone as naïve and impatient as herself? She didn't quite have the self-control she assumed would come with the role. She was a bit... reckless at times.

As he explained his magic to her she nodded, it seemed they were in the same boat, she wondered what it would look like when he used his magic. She had never met anyone who channelled their magic through another entity. She let out a naïve little laugh at his warning, "Don't worry about odd, you should meet my family. They're the definitely of 'weird'." After it came out she flushed again, raising her hands in a defensive manner. "Not that I want you to meet my family or anything, that would be inappropriate of me. I mean, I was just using them as an example." She looked down, staring at the ground awkwardly, You're such a eejit. She scolded herself.

After her interaction with Tiphanae, Nessa felt herself flush even more little at Johann's compliment. It was almost like being given feedback from a teacher at school. She twiddled the end of her shorts, "Ah, um, thank you. I'm sure it's nothing compared to what you can do." She told him. She straightened up as he went through the plan with her, taking it in. It was pretty clear cut, Johann would jump in, start creating havoc and Nessa would join in at the right time. It was definitely a plan she could get on bored with. She felt herself get a little excited, firstly to see what Johann was capable of and seconded to do a little work her. It had been a break snice her last job and she was itching to get back into the fray. Nessa watched intently as Johann began to conduct a spell of sorts, she scanned the tattoos on his hand, trying to get a good look. As the runes began to glow, Nessa felt the soft wave of magical envelope her. She glanced back at Johann's face then back at his hand, then back to her own hand. Her right wrist specifically, where a bracelet covered in runes appeared. She stared at it, taking in Johann's explanation of how it works. She grinned, she looked at all the different coloured runes. "Thank you Johann!" She said, the excitement and gratitude clear in her voice. She couldn't wait to try it out.

The air was filled with a boom of magical power, with so much force she winced a little as the wind whipped her hair back and Johann disappeared with a loud crack. It seems they had begun, she began her approaching, moving quickly and stealthily through the trees, closer to where Johann was facing the enemy. Peeking around a tree, she watched in awe as the guy, who even looked different was taking out the robotics animals with ease. As she watched a row of mechanical chickens ripped apart with a simple wave of his hand, she let out a little "Whoa." She took a breathe, from the looks of it Johann could probably do this job on his own, without even batting an eyelid. But still, she wasn't about to let him, she had a reputation to uphold, that of hers and Fairy Tails.

She looked at the bracelet, wondering how it would work. Starlight was basically on the same wavelength of elemental magic so it shouldn't be too hard to pick up. Stepping out from the cover of the trees, she ran into the fighting, throwing out her right palm she felt her magic rush forward, pooling in her hand. The light spread outwards, forming into a sword of starlight. Feeling the bracelet on her wrist fuelling her with magic, the starlight sword began to crackle with electricity. She looked at it, smirking, well they were mechanical after all. Having spotted her some of the chickens surged forward. Adjusting her stance, she gripped the sword with both hands. Swinging it through the air in a carefully aimed blow, she carved through three of the chickens in one go. Spinning she continued to swing her sword, taking out multiple targets with each blow. As was fending off a chicken that was trying to dodge her swings, she noticed a Mechanical Jellyfish heading towards her, "Tiph." She called, a moment later, the Valkyrie came swooping down from the trees, swinging her palm, she released a gust of wind. So forceful the jellyfish was slammed backwards into a tree, whirring once more the machine came forward and Tiphanae pulled out her sword, taking on the jellyfish robot. Nessa smiled at her before turning back to her targets and carving up another chicken.

When Nessa told the Vice President that the Fairy Tail mage he had already met, Aven, was closer to her than he initially would've thought he looked up, still smiling a little nervously. "Ah, I see, well, that certainly makes things more interesting.", he stopped for a brief moment. So there were the members of the famous Fairy Tail, hm ? He had read things about them before, but hadn't really dealt with any of them personally. He was pleased to find out that they seemed like a nice bunch. Definitely nicer than most mages he had met when he was still travelling, and certainly more well spoken and mannered than his old mercenary comrades from back in the day ... "The Company tends to not really get involved with other guild's business too much, but ... in any case, I'm looking forward to collaborating with you, Nessa of Fairy Tail. Let's do our best, shall we ?". With that, the introduction seemed done for the rune mage. He, however, was genuinely interested in not just her guild, but her magic and person, too. He would keep an eye out and observe to satisfy his curiosity, at the very least, walking alongside this new job partner of his. When the girl spoke of her family, the Vice President of the West Fiore Trading Company couldn't help but chuckle, thinking of his own family back on Tolgalen. The other members of the Company, his adopted extended family, were certainly an odd group as well, the higher ups especially. "Don't worry, Nessa. I know exactly what you mean", the rune mage quietly grinned to himself. They were all quirky in their own sense.

A good bit later, when The Vice President had already thrown himself into the fray and the dominant personality had switched to Mars, the lord of war couldn't help but smile at the destruction he had caused. This situation simultaneously was a test of both the new magical abilities he had given Johann as well as the new body. The magical abilities certainly were more than satisfying, the first rows of robotic avians reduced to nothing more than bent and broken scrap metal, the bodies of the ones that had been sliced in half twitching and twisting mechanically for a few more seconds before, too, becoming still. It was time to test the physical abilities. Stretching playfully, Mars laughed out loud "Ahhhh ... It's good to be back. If I didn't know better I'd say it's been centuries, tssehehe". Glancing over, it appeared like the Fairy Tail mage now, too, had joined the fight, swinging a sword of pure, radiant light into the hordes of mechanical chicken creatures that surrounded the mages like an ever shifting swarm. He grinned. "Looks like I'll use, hmm, let's see ... this one", Mars in thought going through the runes that covered the VP's body, Johann silently giving the lord of war a nod, as much as it could be called a nod in his current state of existence, viewing the world like he was looking through his own two eyes as if they were the screens of a TV, his body controlled by someone else like a puppet, though still feeling every single move Mars made. Still, despite only recently having started to share a body, both the lord of war and the rune mage seemed oddly coordinated, familiar with each other almost, cooperating efficiently and without much talk. It was truly strange, even to Johann himself, but this was not the time nor the place to dwell on such matters. For now, all that mattered where Mars' words, who once more repeated the command for the runes from before, mumbling "Suscitatio" in his deep, echoing and distorted voice before once again the runes on Johann's body flared up, this time in a bright, blood red.

What followed was a choreography of destruction, the dance of death. Exploding from the VP's form came a wave of force, a faint crimson aura surrounding him, the outlines of his form blurring behind the mantle of pure, kinetic energy. The face of Jo once again formed a grimace, the wide, toothy grin appearing wildly out of place on the normally stoic face, and without much more, the man's form flickered for another second before he was once more launched forward at extreme speeds, the sound barrier cracking in the background as he appeared within the horde of robot chickens that, confirming his arrogant expectations, seemed to be entirely unable to keep up with the sheer velocity of the spell. His face still bearing the grin, Mars came to a stop above the artificial creatures, hovering over them for just a second before, with considerable force, bringing down his free left fist onto the ground, the earth cracking and the ground rumbling as dust and dirt exploded to all sides, launching away the mecha chickens that had been closest to the epicenter of this attack and showering the others with particles of dust and dirt. "Most satisfying", Mars commented to himself , his feet elegantly touching the ground as he regained his balance after the strike, not paying much attention to the chicken that had approached from the back, much like a human wouldn't pay much attention to a single ant on the sidewalk. It only took a second before, with a metallic sound, the elongated, sharp beak of the artificial bird pierced his shoulder from behind, the end of the "weapon" emerging from the other side of it. "Huh ?", Mars turned his head at the sudden, sharp pain. Of course, it wasn't even enough to make the lord of war flinch, on his face only an expression of mild confusion , cackling to himself "Oh, my apologies. Must've missed you, tsehe", before firmly grasping the thing with his free hand and pulling it, a splatter of blood shooting from the bright red hole in his right shoulder as the beak was removed, the crimson liquid immediately starting to taint the white of his company uniform. In this moment, the only thing that excessively pained the VP was the knowledge of having lost another one. He couldn't buy his clothes as quick as Mars destroyed them. A deep sigh echoed through both the men's minds. Mars however, who still firmly grasped the bird, now closed his hand, quickly doing away with the mechanical being, crushing it with ease, throwing the destroyed thing away like an old tin can. The wound, still present on the man's shoulder, instantly closed again and the grin returned to his face.

Mars turned around. His eyes wandering for a second he found the girl, who seemed thoroughly busy with one of the flying mechanical tentacle creatures. Mars cackled. It looked like the Fairy Tail mage and her summon were having fun. More fun with the chickens. In any case, they were below him anyway. He would eradicate them all and then move on to the fun part. Yes, that seemed like a good, no, great plan. "Tssehehe" he giggled to himself, once more going through the runes, stopping when he found the one. It made sense. Nessa was too close to use something like antimatter here, she would certainly take damage, but he still had light. Light, which would be benevolent to a friend, and devastating to a foe. Beautiful, scorching light, used in conjunction with his very own darkness. The grinning grimace on his face intensified. Mars sheathed the rapier he ha still been holding before spreading his arms, the black, tattoo like inscriptions on his skin glowing once more, this time in a hallowed golden hue, before explosively the area a good 100 meters around him was engulfed in a black light, simultaneously blinding and not. Johann's allies would only feel a slight warmth, perhaps even comfortable, while the smaller creatures would be incinerated, burned away by holy flame, reduced to nothing more than ash within a few blinks of an eye, leaving behind a thin layer of dust that covered the ground in the area before, suddenly, the light retreated to the VP's form, silence taking its place. Mars giggled. His eyes still on the jellyfish creatures, he noted that they too had been affected by the light, their forms heavily molten in places, heavily disfigured, but still floating and alive. "Looks like that was a bit overkill. Those things take a beating, though ... tsehe, this will be fun !". Again, he drew his rapier.

    Re: Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on Fri 24 Aug 2018, 10:11 am

Nessa felt a great sense of motivation from the older mages encouraging words, there was something about him that filled her with the desire to do her best. She wanted to prove to him that Fairy Tail mages were worth their salt, she couldn't let her guild down. She wasn't about to jump into this mission as a liability, she was beyond done with that. She remembered her job with Mura from when she had first joined Fairy Tail. How useless she had been in comparison to now, well not again. She was a learned mage now and she knew how to handle her magic much better. It was time for her to step up to plate and make a difference. She gave him an enthusiastic nod, she would do her very best, there was no doubt about it.

So far her impression of Johann had been very pleasant, it seemed she needn't have worried about meeting a mage from outside her guild. The guy was not only really nice, but also had impressive magical ability. Teaming up with such a guy was a privilege in her eyes, she may as well enjoy it while she could. Plus, it may prove a chance for her to learn a thing or two from a much more skilled and experienced mage. She was pleased that he wasn't bothered by her awkward family comment, allowing it to blow over with his own remark of understanding. It meant that the wave of embarrassment she had felt dissipated, allowing her to focus on the fight ahead.

When in the fray of the fight, Nessa swung her sword back and forth with precision. The chickens weren't especially difficult to carve through. Which was most likely due to the magical boost Johann's magic was giving her. Plus she could feel the magic from her necklace pooling into her, giving her a little boost. Tiphanae was gliding across the field, battling with the Jellyfish with elegance and ease. She seemed to be almost teasing the thing. Hacking away at it with her sword, before spinning and releasing another wave of wind magic that slammed into the thing.

Nessa was slightly surprised it wasn't dead yet, it seemed the Jellyfishes were a little tougher than the chickens. She scanned the area, spotted one, she made her way over to it. Orbs began to appear around her, she sent them ahead, running forward ahead of her. One by one, the orbs began to smash into the Jellyfish, attacking it in several various points of it's body. Throwing it off from her approach, as it tried to fend of the blows. As each orb landed another would appear, at least six orbs had already smashed into the Jellyfish when Nessa got to it. Slicing her sword upwards, the edge of her blade of light carving through several of it's tentacles. Cracking with the lightning magic that was being provided by the glowing rune bracelet on her wrist. The creature made an unnatural sound, almost like a mechanical screech. Nessa winced at the sound of it, despite the fact they had to kill these robotic monster didn't meant the sound of their pain was easy for Nessa to listen to. A sense of guilt grew inside her. Despite this when creature launched itself at her for an attack, almost automatically she drew her elbows back. She drove the tip of the sword straight through the creature's core. Piercing straight through it's entire body, the Jellyfish twitched for a moment, before falling still. Nessa stood there panting slightly for a moment, swinging her sword to dislodge the creature from it. The jellyfish slid back over the end, falling to the floor in a crumpled heap.

Nessa looked around, Tiphanae was still playing around with the Jellyfish of her own. Her sword seemed to be beating away at it slowly, Nessa had learned quickly that Valkyrie's tended to rely more on their swords than they're magic. That they're magic was more of a additional option to them, they much preferred the brutality of hacking away at their opponents. Tiphanae tended to fight the most gracefully and delicately out of all the girls, almost dancing across the forest floor rather than fighting. Nessa thought briefly of Agatha, who was much more aggressive and rough in nature. She didn't have the magical capabilities to summon her yet, but she knew when she could. She was going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Once she was satisfied that Tiphanae was fine, she looked for Johann. Before she spotted him, she spotted the mass of robotic corpses he had clearly left in his wake. "Wow..." She whispered breathily, she hadn't paid as much attention as she would have liked to. But from the cracked terrain and the machine's oil ridden blood that coated the soil atop of the dead robots. She could tell he had been to work, that was clear. She looked at him, his white suit covered in the creatures weird blood. A manic grin on his face, when she heard Mars's laugh, it occurred to her that it might be him doing the fighting. Rather than Johann, but she didn't know enough about Johann's magic to be sure. But his behaviour and the way he looked, it seemed so different from the guy she had been talking to moments ago.

She watched him floating above her as he spread his arms, looking on in awe as his skin began to glow. His tattoos emitted that magical light once more. Within moments the area was filled with a scorching light so bright, Nessa closed her eyes instinctively. Except she felt not pain, only a gentle warmth. Even Tiphanae looked over towards it, shielding her eyes as the Jellyfish she was fighting was hit with the damage of the light magic. Nessa watched as the last of the chickens were incinerated, burning up in the ash and blowing away with a wind. Her jaw dropped slightly as the impressive feat, this guy... She thought.

She gulped as he returned to normal, drawing his sword, she smiled, it seemed he was having fun at least. At least that was good, she guessed, she couldn't help but grin back. His enthusiasm, albeit slightly malicious still seemed to have an infectious effect on her. She realised shouldn't feel guilt for these creatures, they were pests, bothering the local innocent people and troubling them. It was their job to put a stop to them, she understood that properly now. Feeling bad for killing or hurting them would only affect her ability to get the job done efficiently. She turned looking ahead at the remaining few Jellyfish. They were clearly wounded from the spell. She brought forward more light orbs, five in total, she sent them flying at one of them. Luring it towards her, she dove in once more, Swinging her sword through the air, her face now hosting a determined grin of it's own. As Mars had said, this was going to be fun, she would make sure of it.

Mars grinned still, slowly stepping towards the few remaining jellyfish creatures that Nessa and her summon weren't fighting. They were barely hanging on. "Mars. You've played enough. We have a job to do, it's time that we move on.", Johann's voice spoke softly, "Time to put them out of their misery then ...", Mars whispered to himself, the arm with the blade pointing to the ground, golden runes flaring up all over the steel of the weapon, coating it an aura of holy light. "Was fun while it lasted though", Mars spoke before bursting into a stream of wind, his runes flashing in a dull grey briefly before he once more launched off, his blade cutting through the side of one of the floating creatures like through butter, separating the thing cleanly, the two broken, molten halves falling to the ground, the tentacles ceasing their motions. Mars turned, the large grin gone, a serious expression now dominating the VP's face as he marched towards the next monstrosity, it's tentacles flailing wildly as he approached, swung like bladed whips toward the approaching lord of war who, almost with ease, grabbed the tentacles with his free hand, grasped them firmly and pulled the jellyfish creature towards him, the azure rapier in his hands piercing the center of the creature's body before that one, too, fell to the ground, lifeless. Apart from the ones that Nessa and Tiphanae were fighting, he would let the two deal with these themselves, of course, there was one of these left, damaged, almost broken, a rather sad sight, truly. Mars decided to sheath the still glowing rapier again, putting it away safely and freeing up his hands, the runes on one of his arms changing colour, along with his eyes, one final time, this time glowing with a bright yellow, sparks of electrical energy soaring around the extremity as he lifted his hand, pointing a finger at the last of the mechanical beings. "Bye bye ~", a small smirk returning to the man's face one last time before, explosively and without warning, all electrical energy released in a bolt of lightning that burst into the creature, lighting up it's form with a brief flash before this last jellyfish monstrosity collapsed. The runes on the VP's body stopped glowing, while however still covering his entire body, and the aura of pure, magical energy around him died down. "Good work, Mars", Johann spoke to the other inhabitant of his own body as he turned to the Fairy Tail mage to see how she was doing.

A satisfied look on his face he saw that they, too, had defeated their opponents, with calm steps approaching the girl and her summon. "Quite impressive, Nessa. You're an experienced fighter, aren't you ? Your friend as well", he gave the valkyrie a friendly nod. "So, these things have been plaguing the locals, hm ?" he spoke, kneeling down to inspect one of the broken jellyfish creatures, turning his head to face the slightly glowing portal "If the things can make their way through the portal, we should be able to do so, as well, don't you think ?". The Vice President had a weak smile on his lips, determined to find the source of this scourge. He didn't know if the girl would be willing to join him at all, they were essentially diving into the unknown with what he would propose, but what other option did they have, really ? He was sure they just had to try. "So, I don't know if that's okay with you at all, but ... Nessa, let's go through the portal and put an end to this invasion for good !", approaching the construction with slow, cautious steps before turning to the girl, waiting for a reply.

It seemed that Tiphanae had just about had enough of her toying with the creature, having noticed that Nessa and Johann had already taken out there's. Not wanting to drag things on any further, she set about finishing it off. The wind Valkyrie raised her hand one final time, releasing another gust of wind from her palm. The force of which caused the Jellyfish to fly back forcefully, rolling onto it's back as it crashed into the dirt. Tiphanae jumped up into the air, flapping her great white wings to gain some height, she flew above the creature, all the while raising her long sword. Pointing it downwards, She speared it down through the body of the Jellyfish, holding it in place. It let out a piercing robotic screech, it's body flailing frantically for a moment, before slowly it stilled. She muttered some words that appeared to sound like an inhuman dialect, closing her eyes for a moment. The Valkyrie opened her eyes, yanking her sword out of it's corpse, giving the weapon a sharp flick to get off some of the creatures oily blood. Before sheathing her sword once more and turning to see how her Summoner was fairing.

Nessa was a that point was surrounded by what could only be described as a horde of orbs. Raining down on the Jellyfish. Pummelling the creature relentlessly, she moved around it as they did so. Each time it'd surged towards her another set of orbs re-appearing and smashing into the thing, knocking it back. She had already managed to hack a chunk out of it's side from her first strike, it was now just a matter of the final blow, it had to be well-timed and precisely struck. She manoeuvred herself in front of it, the creature was barely managing to keep itself afloat. Thanks to Johann's earlier attack and her unrelenting orbs, the creature was one it's last legs... or tentacles in this case. Leaping forward she opened a path through her orbs, and began slashing once more, making a criss-cross motion with her blade. Swinging the sword back and forth in a flurry quick blows, not giving the creature a chance to move away. She pushed on into the creature until it finally crumpled to the floor. Nothing more than scraps of broken metal. She stood over it panting, she reached up, wiping the sweat from her forehead. That had been intense, she wasn't the most skilled sword-fighter but her father had trained her enough to be able to wield it well-enough.

She took a moment to catch her breathe, she looked over at Johann as he complimented her skills. Smiling at him, she had taken on her fair share of creatures at this pint, thanks to her Aunt training her to use magic and her Dad training her to fight, she had joined Fairy Tail with those skills already in her pocket.  It had just due to her experiences as a mage so far that those skills were becoming more honed and instinctive. "I'm better at fighting monsters, they're movements are easier to predict. Humans on the other hand..." She didn't needed to elaborate, she figured the WFTC's Vice President would understand what she meant. Tiphanae stepped over to her, "These being's are unlike what I am familiar with, I sense a life in them and yet it is un-nurtured and erratic. I see why you humans would consider them a nuisance." She told the Starlight Maiden, Nessa paused in thought. As a Valkyrie she understand they had a deep connections with souls, the purpose of their existence being the ones who choose from the fallen who gets welcomed into Valhalla. Tiphanae smirked at Johann, "You are impressive yourself Johann, I'm honoured to fight alongside such a ferocious warrior." She told him curtly. Nessa felt herself in awe of how confidently and directly Tiphanae was able to compliment the man. Somehow her words felt like she was talking to a peer, as opposed to Nessa who couldn't quite pull off such a self-confident response. But she didn't disagree in the slightest, she had never seen someone use such powerful magic before, she felt like if she could, she would love to watch Johann a little more, to observe his skill with more detail. Yet, she had to fight too, meaning she couldn't watch as much as she'd have liked. Yet, it seemed they weren't done, so maybe she'd get to witness a little more.

She glanced over to the portal, biting her lip hesitantly. She hadn't had the best experience with portals. There had been those two times with Rina, which had resulted in facing and onslaught of monsters and demons one after the other. It had been pretty brutal both times, Nessa wasn't even sure how she had managed to survived the seemingly endless fighting. Yet, she wasn't about to let that deter her, she was not a liability, and she wasn't about to be a coward either. She gave Johann a determined look, "Let's do this!" She replied. She headed towards the glowing gateway, her remaining orbs following her. "At this point, they'll probably be prepared for our attack." The element of surprise wasn't a possibility anymore, it was time to head in all guns blazing, or swords in this case. She gripped the hilt of her sword tightly, approaching the portal with Johann and Tiphanae. Taking a breath, she stepped through the portal, feeling the familiar jolt of her body being thrown into another world.

    Re: Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Johann on Wed 29 Aug 2018, 8:08 am

"Humans on the other hand are unpredictable", the VP finished the girl's sentence in his head, giving her a nod. At times it left him wondering who the real beasts were. But ... that's why he had stayed in the Company and joined Onyx Moon, to slowly but surely make the world a better place. Through everything that had happened to him in the recent year, reflecting on it his whole life had been turned upside down completely, he still hadn't forgotten his original goals. "Oh, please, by no means. It is I who should be honoured to fight in the company of two such skilled magi. For your assistance you have my thanks, Tiphanae, Nessa.", bowing slightly as he raised his right hand to his shoulder, giving both a smile that shifted to a concerned look as he took another glance at the portal. It seems he still had some of his old etiquette left when it mattered. Good, he didn't necessarily want to lose that part of his life. It connected him to his father. It wasn't like he was lying, either. Nessa's and Tiph's magic intrigued him, for the girl, he had never seen something quite like it before, and for the valkyrie, well, he had used wind magic before himself, but then again, all magic was more than unique, being a representation of the user's soul. It was no wonder Nessa commanded magic that was bright, happy, while all of his own magic had a deeply black aesthetic to it. The lord of war probably wouldn't help his case, either. There would be time to ponder over those things in greater detail later, though, they had a job to do. Following Nessa to the portal, Johann's expression, too, was determined. He did not know what would lie behind this portal, he could only speculate, but he would find out soon enough, confident that anything that would stand in his way, Mars, himself and the mage from Fairy Tail could deal with.

Giving Nessa a nod at the next comment, Johann took a step closer to the glowing gateway, staring into the water like, vertical surface before himself. "We'll better give it our all, then", he gave back before taking one large, final breath, inhaling sharply before leaping forward, his form disappearing. Around Johann, everything turned black for a second, he felt as if he was falling into an endless void of darkness before being accelerated to warp speeds, flying through a tunnel of colours, his body pulled in all directions and collapsing inwards simultaneously before finally, he took one more breath, and opened his eyes. Surprisingly, there was no blinding light ... and no onslaught of mechanical beings either. The whole place had a soothing atmosphere, almost as if it had been designed to induce a feeling of coziness. The sky wasn't blue and there was no sun to speak of, instead, it was as if there was an endless, dark horizon expanding before them, a firmament filled to the brim with bright, beautiful stars. It was as if they were looking directly at an ever spiraling galaxy, the colours and glows, for a moment, completely taking Jo's breath away. But it wasn't just the sky. Before them lay a lush plain, the grass covering it almost glowing in an azure hue, only disturbed by the occasional small hill, ivory white trees with the same glowing, azure leaves dotting the place. For more than just a few moments, the Vice President took in the breathtaking atmosphere, speechless at the sight presenting itself. This was an otherworldly paradise. Johann turned to Nessa, about to say something when Mars audibly gasped from the VP's mouth, as if he had just remembered something important that had been long forgotten, only now recently resurfacing along with the realization that you made a terrible mistake. "It ... it cannot be. N-no, impossible !", the lord of war whispered, shocked. "Mars ? What's wrong ?", Johann asked back, more than just slightly confused at the sudden display of awe from the otherwise so calm and disconnected lord of war. A few seconds past, and nothing could be heard from Mars, but Johann, who shared his body with the creature, could feel the other tremble.

Before, however, he could get any sort of answer from him, there was a flash of light around the mages, Johann instinctively raising a hand to cover his eyes, lowering it to see that before them there had appeared what looked like a flickering, distorted image of sorts. A little startled by the sudden, new appearance, he could only make out minor details, but, gradually, the image started taking a more clear form, resembling ... a girl ? Before them seemed to stand a girl, her skin as pale as the ivory of the trees, her hair in the same shade of azure as the plants, more couldn't be made out like this, and though heavily distorted, Jo was sure he had heard a voice. A second time, it rang out, this time more clearly, though still sounding as if tainted by interference "Plea- hel- us, str-gers, ... this pla-, the Gard- of Eden, ... inva- by the clockwo- machin-, an-" before, with a zapping sound, the image vanished, leaving nothing behind but silence once again. "The Garden of Eden ?", Johann asked to himself more than anything else. Well, the girl wanted them to save this place from what she called the "Clockwork" machines from what he could gather. That would be no issue at all. It was basically their plan anyway, but ... there was something that more than bothered Johann. Mars had winced at the mere mention of the name of this place. Garden of Eden ? What exactly was this all about ?

"T-this place, we shouldn't be here. There shouldn't be a way to the garden. It is not allowed. Father has forbidden it. We-", Johann didn't notice, but for Mars, it was as if sudden clarity filled his mind. Of course, how could he ever doubt him. He had been lead here for a reason, for the explicit purpose of cleansing the holy gardens of these intruders. The second seal, harbinger of a divine apocalypse, had been brought to the invaders to answer their declaration of war not with word, but with deed. And an apocalypse he would bring them. If it was one thing and one thing only that Mars wouldn't, couldn't tolerate, it was blasphemy. Any of that didn't make sense to the VP, who felt the sudden shift from something he had only once before felt in the lord of war, fear, to burning hate.

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on Sun 02 Sep 2018, 5:24 pm

Despite the several times, she had experienced being transferred through a portal into another world. It never became any less of a bizarre sensation, feeling the existence of the world thrown out of sorts and magically transporting out of the world you come from. Your body flying forward at speed that couldn't even be comprehended, pulled and manipulated and yet somehow still intact at the end. The shift in worlds came to a halt, and Nessa felt herself jolt hard as she stopped, stepping out to catch herself. She felt her body slightly shaken by the experience, taking a deep breath, she let out a sigh. "I'm never going to get used to that." She muttered under her breath. Shaking her limbs, she took a look around. The sight of the space around her causing her mouth to drop open slightly. She looked across the plains of azure blue grass, swaying softly back and forth. The cluster of white trees dotted around then, it was a very mystical sight. Naturally her gaze rose to the sky and she saw them, her hand shot up to cover a light gasp. Above them was a beautiful starry sky, she felt a little flush of warmth. She could feel the magical energy flooding towards her, blessing her with its strength, entrancing her. She wanted to reach out, to greet them, so many magnificent celestial entities twinkling above her. She was pulled out of her trance from the tone of Mars's voice. Snapping back to reality, she lowered her gaze to him. Listening carefully to they're exchange, the other voice sounding shaken almost fearful.

All of a sudden Tiphanae darted in front of her, sword facing forward, following this a flash of light. Before them appeared a young girl, or at least the vision of one. Her appearance seemed to have a similar colouring to the scenery that surrounded them. Nessa squinted, trying to get a good look at her, but she couldn't, the sight of her was distorted. Even her words, broken and hard to understand. Nessa tried desperately to make sense but she couldn't, she was about to ask the girl to say it again but then, with a zap she was gone. She stared into the space she had been in, her expression confused. All she had been able to gage, was that something bad was going on. She heard Johann speak glancing over st him. Garden of Eden...? She thought, was that was this place was called?

The sound of Mars's uncertain voice set Nessa on edge slightly, that guy that had only moments ago been taking out robots with the single sweep of his arm. Demolishing them to nothing with what appeared to be minimal effort and playful amusement. This confident powerful warrior seemed thrown by the very place they had come to, she felt anxiety begin to set it's teeth into her. Was this job beyond their capabilities? Surely not, after witnessing what Johann was capable of, she couldn't imagine failure as an option. Even the Valkyries calm relaxed demeanour had undergone a transformation, she now looked guarded and tense. Tiphanae scanned the area with a cold analytic glare before turning rounding on Nessa.

"Listen to me Nessa Lux, you must call Ellamora." She hissed seriously, the urgency in her voice throwing Nessa back. She began to stutter in protests only to be interrupted sharply but the Valkyrie. "Don't question it, she needs to see this." The Valykries eyes bore into Nessa and she could sense that Tiphanae truly needed Nessa to do so. She gulped, summoning Tiphanae was surprisingly easy, they had learned that in training. Ellamora on the other hand, she was by far the most powerful Valkyrie, somehow able to adjust her magic so that Nessa could call her. Yet the potential for power than Nessa could sense within made Nessa self-conscious. It easnt going to be easy, she took a breath and Tiphanae stepped back. "Calm your spirit, Nessa Lux, she will come."

Nessa nodded, she reached within, activating the new magic that rested inside her. It was different to her starlight, it required more will than her primary magic. After a moment, the symbol on the back of her neck began to glow once more, her eyes turning white, she spoke. Once again the voices of several women echoing from her. "Ellamora."

There was silence as for a moment nothing seemed to happen, fear began to fill Nessa's heart. Had she not been strong enough? Was Ellamora ignoring her call? Then a small ball of light flickered in front of Nessa, Tiphanae dropped to her knees, head bowed. The ball of light grew brighter and brighter, expanding and stretching. Nessa's fear was replaced with relief, as she watched the light stretch outwards to the size of a woman. Then as it faded stood there was none other than Ellamora. She towered over Nessa, her amazonian-like figure showing through the gaps in her golden and blue armour. Her magical sword resting by her side, her attractive features covered by a horned mask. Her golden blonde hair resting in ties on her shoulders, almost glowing in the reflecting on the starlight. Nessa's body trembled slightly from the use of magic and a bead of sweat rolled down her forehead. This Valykries essence radiated with intensity, Nessa could feel it wash over her as her piercing eyes settled on her through the gaps in her mask. She stood there, her magical armour glimmering in the light as she moved, she turned sharply to look at Tiphanae. Underneath her mask, her expression could be seen as serious and stoic. Nessa opened her mouth to speak, yet found herself unsure what to say, before she could Ellamora addressed the other Valkyrie.

"Tiphanae, what is the meaning of this? What are you both doing in the Garden of Eden, this is forbidden territory." Nessa winced, Ellamoras nature was usually a lot kinder and gentler and yet her words were fierce and scalding. Sending a cold child through Nessa. She had the most intimidating presence, she was the leader of the Valkyries after all. Tiphanae stood once more, her expression equally serious, unlike Nessa she seemed determined to remain unfazed by Ellamora’s tone. "Ella, something bad has happened here. Nessa Lux and her companion here, Johann they are undertaking the task of exterminating these pests causing chaos in the human world. Nessa Lux summoned me for assistance, we followed the beasts through the portal and ended up here. Ellamora, I fear this is an infestation." Ellamora stared down at Tiphanae, he expression unchanging. She seemed to contemplate her words before turning her gaze to Nessa.

"An infestation you say? In the Garden of all places, If I couldn't see the humans standing her before me, I would not believe you." She replied in a cool albeit slightly softer tone, she turned her head to look at Johann. "You must be rather unsettled, Lord of War." Nessas gaze darted between the two, even more confused, did Ellamora know Johann, why was she calling him that? She shook her head vigorously, enough was enough, somehow she pulled herself out of the shock of Ellamora's arrival.

"Can someone tell me what's going on? What is this Garden of Eden you keep talking about?" She asked, finally finding her voice. Ellamora turned to her, her gaze growing softer. "My apologies Nessa Lux, I shall explain. You understand how Valhalla is a sacred world, gifted to us Valkyries by the great god Odin, our master. It is our world and it is precious to us. Therefore only we Valkyrie or Odin himself, may grant permission to those who enter," She reached up with her free hand and stroked Nessa's cheek in a motherly fashion. Before dropping it back to her side, "Only those deemed worthy by us may enter, to enter without permission is sacrilege. This world we stand in, The Garden of Eden. It is a similar world to ours, yet belonging to another God, neither us Valkries nor you humans should be here, yet here we stand. I presume it has something to do with these 'pests' you speak of." She finished, Nessa took a moment, starting to now understand the severity of the situation.

    Re: Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Johann on Tue 04 Sep 2018, 9:16 pm

Johann felt his entire body tense up involuntarily, he couldn't help it. The feeling he got from Mars was more than unsettling, as if someone, something had flicked a switch, his playfulness and fun the lord of war was having vanishing, a brutal seriousness taking hold in its stead. Mars' trembling had only intensified, though the fear was gone, the ever present, burning flame of hate in the hybrid's heart changing from an ember to a raging inferno. Johann, surprised as he was, could barely manage to hold Mars back from taking over the Vice President's body and storming off right now. "M-Mars ?! What's this about ? E-explain", he struggled. "I will explain later, human. For now, know that I tolerate your and your companions' presence in the holy gardens. You bear no fault for this circumstance, and father is benevolent, he will forgive you. Our priority is to exterminate the intruders.", the normally so informal voice suddenly  holding an unknown severity. "Hold on a second -", Johann tried to talk back, but he could feel Mars' grasp around his mind tightening. The lord of war was strong, stronger than himself, and fighting him seemed futile. Additionally, Johann was thrown off by the sudden appearance of a new Valkyrie when Nessa summoned once again, the orb of light that changed into a woman of towering height and impressive stature throwing of his focus for just a second. Enough for Mars to overpower him. With a sudden burst strength from the entity inside his body, Jo could feel his consciousness slip away, returning back to the dark room inside his own mind. There was nothing he could do.

Turning towards Nessa and her Valkyries, the white in Johann's eyes slowly changed to black, the dual coloured pupil's in his eyes changing to a glowing, crimson red once more, the bloodshot veins in and around them lighting up suddenly. "Unsettled ? My heart is bleeding, Valkyrie." Mars spoke, his deep, distorted voice giving the impression of a genuine feeling of discomfort. "Though ... with Father's permission, it is fine, will be fine. Besides, I haven't been called to service in a long, long time.", the grin returning to the Vice President's face, turning towards the starlit horizon, drawing the still glowing rapier from the scabbard on his side, the intensity of the hallow runes only growing stronger. "If it truly is war the intruders so much desire, then I, the second of the seven seals, Mars, shall give them one. It is my calling, after all ... tsehehe"

Without further words, the runes all over the man's body started glowing once more. Mars was back in his element, the grin spreading across the Vice Presidents face, looking out of place, yet strangely appropriate given the current circumstances. Lifting his gaze up, the light of the stars illuminating the features of the grimace, Mars vanished on the spot, a burst of sudden, extreme speed catapulting him high into the air, thin, long strings of pure, black energy materializing themselves behind and around the being's back to form a pair of twisted wings, the broken halo around his head lighting up one more time, swirling with negative force. Scanning the area using his heightened sense of sight, Mars took a few glances before finally, with a twist of his body, he laid eyes on the blasphemers that tainted the holy garden with their presence, a horde, really, just behind the other side of a bigger hill, broken and twisted machinations that marched ever onward without a real goal in mind, blindly destroying what was around them with their misguided actions. It was okay. Mars couldn't help but smile. He would make them see the light of the creator very soon, and repent for their sins. Using his ability to use an alternative method of communication, Mars was a good 100 meters up, after all, he snapped his fingers, Nessa and her summons would telepathically receive speed, direction and current location of the horde of robotic beings. He chose to deliver that information in the Vice President's voice, it was ... better suited for delivering messages, his own voice being that of a demon at current. In any case, he never once took his eyes of the creatures that had dared to leave behind them a wake of devastation in this, to him, one of the most holy of places, and would now receive punishment for their crimes. Gripping the hilt of the rapier tightly with his right hand, Mars still grinning, the air around him started to flicker before he angled his wings, a sudden burst of extremely pressurized air launching in the direction of their enemies at extremely high speeds, the sound barrier breaking instantly as he shot off.

The lord of war had already picked a target, a robotic creature closely resembling what appeared like a knight, his rapier and the free left hand simultaneously lighting up with roaring, scorching hot blue flame, leaving a trail as he burst through the air and into his foe with considerable force, the rapier piercing the thing's chest and throwing it off its mechanical feet, the area around the blade turning orange and melting away immediately. Mars grit his teeth. Despite putting all of his, or rather, the VP's power into this attack, the knight was still very much alive, grasping for the large metal axe it had carried with two hands and dropped. These things were sturdier, more durable than the lord of war would've liked, but then again ... it explained why the intruders had come this far. Simply walking into the Garden of Eden wasn't a thing you could do. No, they had to be more powerful than even this. Still, Mars hadn't lost his grin. Bringing up his left fist, the scorching flame still surrounding the extremity, he swung it down for a ground shaking blow that completely crushed the knight's head, blue flame shooting off to all directions as his opponent fell lifeless. Cracking the knuckles of his hand with his thumb, he stood up, now finding himself right in the middle of the mechanical horde, several opponents turning their mechanical heads, if they even had one, Mars spotted some of the jellyfish creatures from before in there, though this new mob seemed to largely consist of these knights. "Tsssehehe", Mars cackled, looking forward to all the fun he would have.

Like before, Mars readied himself. He drew back the rapier, the clockwork knights closing in, stepping towards him, their weapons held high, their metallic steps sounding like a never ending echo as they marched. The grimace on the demon's face widened, his teeth now visible, before swinging the sword, the runes on his body flashing briefly with a dull, bleached white, this time now element bursting forth, no fire scorching the knights, no electricity that destroyed their mechanics, only a wave of pure, kinetic force erupting, bursting forth from his hand as he swung. The knights were thrown back violently, crashing into each other, torn apart in places, the odd robotic arm or leg sent flying by the sheer force, the pressure of the blow, bunching up in a huge pile a good distance away from Mars. Satisfied with the effect of his powers, Mars stood up from his stance. It wouldn't take much more to destroy these ones, the first to fall in a conflict that would go on until either side was exterminated. A thing most honourable in the eyes of the apocalyptic Horseman of War. Spinning the rapier in his right hand he smiled, "Is this all you have to offer to me ? How boring, I expected more from those daring to cross into Paradise. Guess I'll just do my duty and stop toying then, tssehehe ... TSAHAHAHA", the rapier once more lighting up with flame before he burst forward at the bunched up pile of robots.

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on Sat 08 Sep 2018, 6:40 am

When Ellamora addressed Johann, Nessa was surprised to witness the change in him once again, returning to that state he had been in whilst fighting earlier. On top of that, when he responded to her, it was Mars that replied, not Johann. Nessa realised that it hadn't been Johann she had been talking to, and wondered briefly what kind of being Mars was. If a Valkyrie knew of him, that meant he had more to him than just a magical being residing inside of Johann. Nessa didn't have long to contemplate the possibilities as Mars continued to address the situation at hand. Talking about having his fathers permission to be here, and about going to war with the intruders.

Nessa glanced to Ellamora, who seemed to be wearing a smirk. "Very well,"She turned to look at Tiphanae, "I shall remain for as long as Nessa Lux's can host me, we should be able to settle this matter before it reaches that point. However, if I am to leave, you may not handle this matter alone. Ideally Agatha would have be preferable for such a situation, yet it seems that Nessa Lux is not yet strong enough to summon her. In such case, call for Lucinda or Algorea instead, Is that clear?" Her instructions were directed at both Nessa and Tiphanae, who nodded in response. There was something about the way Ellamora addressed her, like a General to her soldiers, Nessa couldn't help but take her words seriously. She felt a little bit of frustration, it was true, she wasn't able to summon Agatha or Scythen yet. Although they had tried many times whilst training but it seemed she didn't have the magical capabilities for it. Although they were both terrifying in they're own way, and Nessa wasn't sure that she would be able to control them much once summoned. Nessa could tell how powerful they were., their fighting abilities were truly an otherworldly sight. To have them besides her on a battlefield would be a massive gain in her favour. But she couldn't dwell on that, at the very least she had Ellamora here, who oozed with her own powerful energy and had the tactical direction of a true leader. Plus there was Tiphanae, a strong warrior, who was not to be snorted at either. Nessa felt glad she had such strong accompaniment, plus there was Johann and Mars, who were of course unbelievably good fighters.

The three females glanced over as Mars as the runes covering his body began to glow, watching as he appeared to vanish moments later. Nessa blinked looking around to see where he had gone, Ellamora on the other hand paid no mind, and turned away, her body appeared to glow as she darted off in the direction of the hill. Tiphanae kicked off the ground her wings beating hard, she soared forwards after her. Nessa, not wanting to be left behind, allowed the magic to pool into her feet. Her feet glowing with starlight, she set off, flying forward at inhumane speed. As she ran, she heard a message in her mind from Johann, she frowned and listened. Looking up at the Valkyries flying above her, Ellamora who was already looking at her, gave her a nod. It seems they had also received the message, using this information to make they way towards where the robotic creatures could be found. Moments later they arrived at the site of which the battle was to commence, Nessa spotted Mars fighting a horde of knights.

Holding up her sword of light, that was still crackling with the electrical energy of the magic from the bracelet Johann provided her she shot forward. Ellamora barked at order at Tiphanae in a language Nessa couldn't quite understand. Following this Tiphanae jumped up into the air, flying over the enemies. Nessa ran forward, charging at a single knight. The orbs that had been floating around her soared forward circling the knight and slamming into him. She darted forward, her glowing feet propelling her towards him, she drove her sword through his chest. She looked up at the knight, she felt herself slightly disturbed by how human the creatures looked. Aside from the metallic plates covering it's flesh, this foolish moment of distraction cost her, as the knight drew back his hand and drove his fist into her stomach, sending her flying back, sword and all. She landed a few metres back, wheezing from the blow. She winced, both slightly pained and irritated by her actions.

She glanced back to see the knight approaching her, only to have Ellamora appeared in front of it, swinging her sword, the knight drew a sword from it's hilt. Blocking her blow with his own, she used the horns from the hilt of her black to pull down on the knight's sword. Forcing it to lean forward, and getting close enough for her next move. With her free hand she reached out, grabbing hold of the knights head, Ellamora released a burst of her own Starlight directly into the knights face. Gripping tightly enough so that the knight had no choice but to take the magic full force. Following this she shoved the knight back, it stumbled a few steps, before it could regain it's footing. Suddenly Tiphanae came flying downwards, driving her sword through the top of the beasts skull downwards. The other end of her sword protruding from beneath it's chin, forcing it to crouch over. At this moment, Ellamora drove back her own sword and forced it through it's stomach. The creature struggled, making all sorts of desperate mechanical cries as it was pinned in place by the Valkyries blades. Ellamora looked back at Nessa, "Stand Nessa Lux, Annihilate the beast before you." She told her, her voice surprisingly calm and collected.

Nessa climbed to her feet, the orbs around her began to multiply, until there was at least fifteen hovering over her. She wasn't going to be the liability, she wouldn't allow it. The orbs soared forward, Ellamora and Tiphanae jumped back. Yanking their swords out of the creature moments before he was pummelled with the balls of light. Creating a sound equivalent to that of an explosion, as the light disappeared, the beast stood there swaying. After a moment the knight fell to the floor, a crumpled metal mess. Despite this small victory, the girls didn't take any time to celebrate, as they launched themselves into the horde and began to face off against more of the metal beasts.

Mars still grinned fiercely, the ground around his feet exploding as he was launched forward by a sudden burst of extreme speed, the force he delivered with the blow of his unarmed left hand ripping the knights head off its shoulders and launching it away as the robotic foe collapsed forward with a metallic crunch. "Is this all ... ?", the lord of war muttered under his breath, turning his head to the next knight, the glowing red pupils in his eyes shifting from side to side as he followed the movements of his opponents. He sounded audibly disappointed. "I had expected more from an invader of Eden !", the deep, distorted voice echoing from the Vice President's mouth as the skin on his left hand was engulfed in a liquid metallic substance before hardening. A knight seemed to take this as an opening, lifting its sword, the two empty sockets that replaced the beings eyes staring at the horseman of war before swinging the weapon down. The grin vanished from Mars' face. He stopped the swing mid air, grasping the blade with his metallic hand, his irritated gaze upon the opponent that had dared swing such an inferior weapon at him, giving the metal version of a warrior an almost psychotic gaze. "Who is behind this, automaton ? Who is your lord ?", the robot, naturally, not giving any sort of answer, struggling as it tried to pull its blade free, the stare shifting into a gaze of pure anger once again, "IS. THIS. ALL ?". He let the weapon go, the knight swinging it back and losing its balance, Mars, with one large swing, drawing back his hand before bringing it forward in less than the blink of an eye, sparks flying as metal burst through metal and the robot knight was simply lifted off its feet and launched away violently.

"I feel thoroughly insulted. You dare not even send creatures of flesh ? Are you blinded by such naive arrogance you assume this is enough to stand up to me ? To stand up to the lord ?", he shouted, hoping that the someone, or something, that had sent these heathens into their demise would listen, and mark his words, the metal drones from before that had been damaged, anywhere from lightly to severely, quickly working to surround him, row upon row forming, weapons, shields and armor reflecting the intense starlight in the area. Mars felt nothing but disdain, and, strangely enough, pity for these beings. He wondered if they even knew what they were doing, he wondered if their creator had been as benevolent as his ? If they had feelings, emotions, if they felt the pain, or were mindless slaves, born to do the every bidding of a twisted being that pursued its own destructive demise. It made the lord of war grit his teeth. Creating beings of sentience without the means to express their feelings was the cruelest thing he could imagine, and creating beings without sentience to throw away the life granted to them was blasphemy. It made no difference in the end. Whether these creatures could actually be considered alive or not, they were made of metal, and yet, they moved, they thought, they bled, meaning someone must've made them, meaning they had a creator, just like he had one. It would be his honour to punish their lord for the sins committed. "I'll come to you in due time ...", he promised to himself. For now, though, they had the Garden to take care of.

Over the constant and continuous shifting and rustling of metal and gear he could hear that the mage from Fairy Tail and her Valkyries had joined the fray, too, smirking for a few moments. Indeed, what was a good war without alliances, without loyalty. Not better than a mere dispute among beasts, as far as he was concerned. And in his eyes, there was no need for the ferocity and mercilessness of a beast ... not yet. No Mars was not without mercy, most certainly. He would enjoy his life as much as he could, he tried to keep away from the mortals as much as possible, and he would hold onto his promise, the promise that he had given at the beginning of time. That he would save them when the time comes ... but first, the machines. He took a look over to where the girl was fighting, making sure she was outside the range. He grinned. "You are in my way, invaders. Are you not ashamed of yourselves ? Do you not feel bad about your sinful ways ? It is fine. I will forgive you, tssehe.", he spoke softly, his expression ironically almost gracious, caring even, as he extended both his hands towards the starlit sky "You need only confess, and repent. First things first, friends, kneel before your lord !", a huge, grey magic circle appearing beneath his feet, stretching a good 100 meters into all directions, easily covering all machines in his vicinity. Stretching his arms out to both sides as he brought them down to about shoulder height, his open palms pointed at the sky, he started cackling, the circle flaring up. Suddenly, from one moment to the other, lines started blurring, everything seemed to shift before robotic bodies were torn apart violently, a sudden, extremely loud, resounding metallic crush ringing out as dozens and dozens of metal knights and jellyfish were crushed by immense, irresistible gravity. The sound of metal being driven into the ground filled the skies, clouds of dust thrown up as each knight, each robotic being was torn asunder, one by one falling to the spell of Mars before finally, the circle vanished, leaving behind nothing but broken, mangled and still corpses of the once so numerous invaders.

There were still more than enough left, though. More than enough invaders to toy with. Still, his path was clear now. Stepping through the piles of what was now nothing more than scrap metal tainted by a black, oily substance, Mars quickly accelerated, pushed forward by an explosive elemental force at mach speeds, his target a group of knights at the other side of the horde, or more specifically, a certain knight. But before that ... he stopped, coming to a halt behind Nessa and her Valkyries, his runes and pupils briefly flashing with deeply blue energy before once again moving on, gone as fast as he had stopped. Around Nessa and her Valkyries a subtle, warm rain would begin falling, healing their wounds and damage sustained immediately. Without giving up his momentum though, Mars pushed on, his eyes focused on a single knight. He was visibly taller than the others, towering over them, in his hands a huge zweihander sword that was easily longer than one of the robot knights was tall. And, on top of that, there was the reason why Mars had picked up on this one in the first place: It was oozing with pure, magical energy. Obviously some sort of leader to the group. Mars grinned, coming to a halt before this other group of clockwork monstrosities, his flat palm pointed at the large knight. "Found you", the lord of war spoke before from his hand burst what appeared like a ray of pure, bright electricity, racing towards the enemy before, with a loud crash, slamming into its form.

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on Sat 15 Sep 2018, 7:40 am

Nessa's sword clashed hard against that of a knight's, now that she had handled at least one of those creatures with the help of the Valkyries. She was attempting to finished one off on her own. Tiphanae and Ellamora had faded into the battle, the clanging of swords around her told Nessa that they were holding there own well enough. Nessa could feel the limit of her sword spell reaching it's end, it was fade soon, meaning she would need to come up with another weapon to combat with. Her mind quickly worked through the options as she managed to drive the blade into the shoulder of the knight. The orbs around her dancing, slamming into the knight whenever there was a reasonable moment. They were also working on deflecting any approaching knights that were to try and join in. Nessa couldn't allow her to become surrounding, or she might not be able to fend them all off at once. Nessa felt the strain on her mind; giving the orbs orders, reacting to her fight with the knight, keeping at eye on her Valkyries and trying to work out her plan on action. She could barely juggle the thoughts going on, fortunately the Comet spell at her feet was allowing her to move faster than the knight could and avoid any further strikes that the creature was attempting to deliver.

She had felt the comforting warmth of Johann's magic fall over her, the bruise that had formed on her stomach healing and returning to her almost full strength. She was grateful, but she didn't quite have the time to thank him. She had to focus on defeating these creatures and helping Mars eradicating the invaders of this sacred place. Nessa's eyes spotted the electricity flickering through her sword from the magic she had received from Johann's bracelet. Thanks to him she was dealing a lot more damage to the creature's than she normal would, and the magic didn't show any sign of fading. At least not yet. It was in this moment, as idea came to Nessa's mind, perhaps she could redirect this into a different spell, a spell capable of taking on multiple knights at once. A grin spread over her face, this could work. She glanced over to the fighting Valkyries, watching as the two of them blasted a single knight from both sides with they're magical spells, causing it to crumple to the floor in a heap. "Girls I need you." The Valkyries were with her in moments, "Round up as many as you can in front of me, I have something in mind." She told them, without hesitation the girls set about baiting the knight's bringing several of the closer to her. As she batted away the knight before her, keeping it back, but waiting. This needed to be timed perfectly for it to work, she could see the light from her sword faltering. Just a little more... She thought, charging her orbs into the knight before her once more, causing it to stumble back a few steps.

There had to be at least ten knights in from of her, and more were making there way over. She glanced over a Mars, "Hey just do me a favour and don't step in front of me for a sec." She asked him, her eyes glanced over the mass devastation he had caused, the heaps upon heaps of knights that he had crushed with his own magic. This guy is unreal… She thought, before glancing back to her target, she definitely wouldn't be able to manage to the same but, at the very least she was going to do something. It was time, the light from the sword flickered out, Nessa darted back a step, using her orbs to keep the knights from moving closer. She crossed her arms over the other, the girls landed behind her out of range for the spell. She trusted that they wouldn't keep any knight's that may attempt to attack her from behind, plus there was Johann / Mars there so. She had no doubt she would pull it off. Taking a breath, her eyes locked onto the knight's in front of her, her expression one of pure determination.

    "Starlight Pulse."

The command left her lips, and flowing with it an intense wave of starlight flew from her palms. The bracelet on her wrist glowed once more, and Johann's magic flew with it. The combination of starlight and fire flying out of her, rolling over the knight's in endless waves. It was impossible to dodge and once caught in it you were pinned in place, she watched as the knight's lit up in flames. The intense heat of her Starlight combined with the fire causing the metal to begin melting. The fire burned any creature that stood within the span of a hundred and fifty metres in front of her. Pulsating in waves, it was brutal and relentless. On top of these flames, the sky above the knight's began filling with several orbs, positioned over the horde. Multiplying endlessly, these orbs shook with intensity, as Nessa did what she could to hold them in place. Nessa's forehead dripped with sweat from the magical exertion, but she didn't stop. Not until over fifty orbs hovered in the sky above the  horde knights before her. Then in a single moment, the orbs thundered down, smashing into the already pinned knight's, dealing even more damage to them. Behind her, she could hear Tiphanae let out a whistle, causing her to grin. It may have not have been as impactful as Johann's magic but at least she was doing something.

    Re: Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Johann on Tue 18 Sep 2018, 2:12 am

Mars' lightning spear slamming into the knights form, it let out what sounded like a long, drawn out groan, the surge of blue lightning sizzling all over the knight's body. It appeared like the sudden burst of electrical energy had somehow affected its mechanical body, the tall, robotic being violently shaking for a few seconds before all motion ceased suddenly and it, slowly, almost as if in slow motion, collapsed forward, intact, though seemingly paralyzed, turned off or short circuited. Who was Mars to tell ? Well, one thing was certain, the supposed "leader" of these invaders was just as much of a weakling as the others. The Lord of War shrugged to himself. Looked like this half hearted attempt of an intrusion was over here. The only thing left to do was exterminate the scattered remains of what could've been considered a sizeable force mere minutes ago, now reduced to but a couple dozen or so, not least due to the starlight mage's efforts. When Mars quickly glanced over after hearing Nessa's voice, he smirked, the sudden explosion of pure magical power catching him off guard. Not only did she release a powerful wave of pure light and flame, she also maintained the concentration to follow up with another, simultaneously cast spell to wipe out the foe once and for all. "Not bad for a human ...", the Second Seal couldn't help but think. Perhaps this girl was stronger than he had believed her to be ? In any case, he was pleased that his decision to allow their presence in the Garden had proven to not be to his disadvantage, no, quite the contrary. Perhaps she had received father's blessing ? No, it would be too early to presume such a thing. Father would take his time with something like that, like he always did. Mars was violently ripped from his thoughts when the ground below him started shaking.

The sudden, bright burst of magical energy had distracted not just his eyes, but also his magical sensory, the rapid surge of magical energy before him going unnoticed up until now, Mars swinging his head around, a mild look of surprise and confusion visibly dominating his expression as he laid eyes on the knight from before. The same knight was still there ... but, was it still the same ? No, something was wrong. The intensity of the quivering earth below grew with each passing second, the magical energy emitting from the mechanical corpse rapidly increasing before ultimately becoming visible in the form of an aura of silver energy around it. Much to the Lord of War's surprise, and admittedly, to his shock as well, he did not believe anyone going down from one of his attacks could ever get up again, the knight moved, first pushing himself off the ground with one arm, then grasping its sword to support its weight, then finally lifting itself back on its feet. The Second Seal had been both right and wrong. These things were indeed sturdier than one would imagine, and didn't appear like a simple bolt of weak electricity would knock them out. Drawing its arms back, the knight clamoured with deep, mechanical roar, the aura of energy around it flaring up, every knight, every mechanical being turning towards it. "So this is your true power ?", Mars grinned to himself, watching the events that followed unfurl passively. It appeared like he had triggered some sort of reaction from the monstrosity, the magical energy suddenly reversing its pull, the strong waves of power that had been bursting away from it suddenly beginning to flow inward before, in a huge squall of wind, every clockwork being still remaining was lifted off the ground and pulled towards it, even the lifeless remains of the already crushed and destroyed automatons beginning to move towards it, clashing, colliding with its form ... though appearing to mold into another shape. What Mars could see before himself was that the knights, living or dead, were absorbed, liquified, their bodies and the bodies of their fallen allies assuming a new, different shape, growing into a twisted mass of pure metal. From this mass of pistons, cogs, chains and metal a twisted, gigantic skeletal head formed, two arms shooting out from the mass that formed its body, though the base of its form remaining in place with no legs, it's body ending what looked like a huge, mangled, mechanical ribcage.

Mars couldn't help but laugh out loud in excitement, the beast before them letting out a deafening roar that shook the ground once more. "FINALLY ! Finally you show your true form, your TRUE POWER", the broad, toothy grin on his face forming a disturbing expression of contemporaneous hate and glee. "I must disappoint you, enemy of Eden, your trail of destruction will end here ! Seeing that you finally show your true form, the games end here. But ... you have my acknowledgement, monster ...", the huge, mechanical being's head slowly turning towards the Lord of War with loud, metallic creak and shatter, Mars stepping forward with slow, calm steps, gradually getting closer to the enormous robotic beast that resembled a broken, mangled corpse. "... for you have come this far to face me. Consider yourself lucky, for you will taste the might of the creator of Eden."

Mars slowly sheathed his rapier, extending one hand towards the monstrosity before himself that turned to face him, the massive weight of its body noticeably affecting the ground as it shifted, raising an arm and drawing back its gigantic fist before unleashing a massive swing towards the Lord of War. Mars kept up his calm pace, step by step getting closer to his adversary, the runes on his hand lighting up with dark energy, the glow slowly creeping up his arm and shoulders until it reached his eyes, both pupils flashing with pure magical energy,Mars speaking but one word, "Begone" before, on the intruders swung fist, a magic circle of pure, deep black appeared, booming with magical energy for a second before a brief, extremely bright flash of white light lit up their surroundings. The ground trembled at the enormous explosion that followed, the Lord of War himself barely managing to stay in place at the power of the shockwave, crouching down to not be simply blown away. The fist of the mechanical monster simply disintegrated along with its arm and shoulder, ripped apart in the smallest of pieces, turned to primordial ash and dust and scattered into all directions by the sheer force of the energy released by the antimatter reaction. The body of the mechanical colossus was thrown back by the sheer force, now missing an arm and part of its right shoulder, visibly damaged and heavily slowed down, but ... much to Mars shock, still intact. They beast had survived his strongest spell, and was still standing somehow. It appeared like this one would, naturally, be the strongest of them all. Quickly, his gaze shifted to look for Nessa. He had to be sure that the girl was okay, now that he realized ... that he might actually need her to assist in defeating their foe, no sure if he had enough magical power to completely and ultimately destroy the enemy.

    Re: Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on Wed 19 Sep 2018, 5:18 pm

The magical power that was emanating out of Nessa was enough to make her shudder, another wave pulsated out of her, rolling over the creature's once more. Between the roar of the flames and the sounds of their robotic screeches, the noise was deafening. She could barely hear what was going on around her, all she could do was focus on maintaining the spell and hope that the others would stop any attacks from behind. The Valkyries however were not oblivious to the goings on, having turned to face the other way to see anything oncoming. Tiphanae and Ellamora witnessed the knight standing and summoning the remains of the robots to it's body to form it's true self.

From where Nessa was standing, the robots that were dead or dying before here suddenly began to fly away, being yanked out of her magical wave. Her look of determined concentration changed to surprise as one by one the knights she had been defeated escaped her combination of flames and starlight. Nessa glanced over her shoulder, to see what was happening, she could see something glowing but couldn't quite crane her neck enough. As the remains of all the fallen knights before her were pulled away, Nessa ceased the spell, allowing the light and fire to fade. Leaving before her metres upon metres of scorched land, a smoky plain of ashes and devastation. She turned to find out what was going on, "What happened?" She asked, laying her eyes on the newly formed creature ahead.

Looking upon the monstrosity that had forms from the remains of the mechanical creatures, Nessa let out a growl of frustration, just when she thought they were getting somewhere. "Well that's just dandy!" She said sarcastically. Nessa felt the ground tremble as the battle between Mars and the beast went on, flinching reflexively at the explosion. As she watched it's tremendous displays of power, Nessa felt fear between to creep up within her. If it was even giving Mars trouble, how the hell could she hope to face it? I'm not strong enough... The doubtful thought slipped into her mind, she felt her stomach drop, her body frozen in place. She felt panic begin to rise through her, her heart pounding in her ears. A voice broke through the panic, she could feel Ellamora's grip on her arm, her voice breaking through.

"Come Nessa Lux, steady yourself! Find your resolve and fight. Your comrade needs you!"

Nessa's dragged her eyes to the Starlight Valkyrie, before slowly rising to Mars, her violet eyes locked on him as in that moment he glanced over to her. Despite everything he was doing to destroy the beast and clear these monsters from the Garden of Eden. He was still checking on her, and yet here she was, just standing there. Being useless. She took a breath, straightening up, she shook her head, before glancing over to Ellamora. "Let's end this." She said calmly, her panic settling back down, she began to walk. Even though she was still scared, she couldn't just leave Mars and Johann on their own. She needed to fight, she had to, even if it killed her. The Valkyries leapt off the ground, soaring into the air. As Nessa  moved closer to where the fight was happening, three orbs appeared around her. Slowly these orbs began to circling her body, moving faster and faster, until the girl began to levitate off the ground. She joined the Valkyries flying above the creature, the orbs dancing around her as she looked down. Figuring out what to do next.

Nessa quickly levitated over to where Mars was standing, reaching out to him. With her gentle touch of her hand, she allowed some of her magic to flow out of her and into him. Following such a transfer of magic, Mars should glow with Starlight, and he speed would increase. The creature was already pretty slow at it was, Nessa hoped this would at least aid in there defeat of it. She threw Mars/Johann a smile, before gravitating back up into the air, her smile fading as she glanced over at the beast once again. She watched as the creature moved slowly attempting to swing their way, as intimidating as the beast was and as tremendous it's magical power was. It was slow, as long as she could avoid it's attacks, she should be okay. Nessa held out her right hand, the light began to pour out of her palm, extending into the length of a spear. The spear began to glow with holy light fuelled by the bracelet attached to Nessa's hand, taking careful aim she launched the spear through the air watching as it pierced through what Nessa presumed was the beast shoulder. Reached out she summoned another, all the while the Valkyrie's circled the creature, shooting blasts of their magic where they could.

Mars' gaze briefly meeting that of the girl, he turned his attention back to the roaring monstrosity they called enemy, the gigantic machine scrambling to lift itself back up after the tremendous blow it had taken, a good portion of its body gone, turned to dust by the might of the unending cosmos. "Tss", the Lord of War grit his teeth, seeing that the invader was still alive, the smoke settling all around, before he unexpectedly felt the touch of a hand at his shoulder, his eyes quickly shifting to see the girl already flying away. A smirk lifted up one of the corners of his mouth as the starlight started engulfing him, muttering a "Thanks girl" before ultimately setting his attention back on the one they had to destroy. "You are right, let's end this", stepping forward as the light spears pierced the beings other shoulder and it reared back in pain, though still not quite destroyed. The thing looked like it had suffered severe damage between his own and Nessa's attacks, but was still functioning. He had no choice, he had to get closer if he wanted to deal any more real damage. Bursting into a full on sprint, assisted by the girl's spell, he made his way towards the beast with incredible speed, the lines around the lord of war blurring as he exploded forward and towards the clockwork monstrosity which, recovering from the last attack and seeing the second seal approach, lifted its remaining hand, drawing it back wide for another swing. This time Mars had no way to obliterate the extremity, so he had to improvise, though his speed and power would help him, the mighty punch thrown towards him racing through the air with breathtaking power ... though not enough to take on the horseman of war.

"Irae Elementis", his fist surrounded with pulsating electricity, he threw his own punch, the force of the gloved fist impacting the metal one shaking the ground around once more, the aura of pressure resulting from the clash of two such powerful magics sending waves and waves of strong wind swirling across the battlefield. Within a few seconds of back and forth between the two beings both released immense magical energy before ultimately, the lightning covered extremity of Mars flared up, launching the machinations hand back, deflecting the blow upward and throwing it off balance. This was his chance. He would get closer and with one large blow end it, bursting forward underneath the huge fist. He was so close to banishing the invader. "Father will be proud", he thought to himself, a grimacing grin on his face, his crazed eyes focussed on the goal ahead. Just a little more ...

... or so he thought. He had gotten close to the monstrosity, about to launch himself up at the beast when it's form suddenly shifted, the remaining metallic arm liquifying before being sucked in, absorbed by its gargantuan machine body. The metal twisted, a horrifying, distorted screech echoing from the thing as the metal was pulled up to its shoulders, two large, cylindrical objects forming on each one. "What's that now ?", Mars complained aloud as he jumped back, bracing himself for another unaccounted for situation. With a loud pop, metal plates were ejected from both sides of the four cylinders, impacting the ground with a metallic clatter to reveal what was inside. Mars' eyes widened, his gaze going back and forth between the hundreds upon hundreds of rockets that protruded from their containers. Within the split second between them being revealed and fired in hundreds of flashes of light, there was but one word that went through both Johann's and Mars' head simultaneously, but one word they couldn't help but think "Shit".

For a second, the lord of war was frozen in place as he stood and watched as hundreds of projectiles were launched from the clockwork monster's shoulders into all directions, dozens upon dozens of explosions flaring up all over the place, ripping apart the ground, the trees, everything, clouds of smoke and dust thrown up, filling the area with a blanket of obscurity entirely, the absence of wind making the plethora of fires appear like flickering lanterns in a thick fog. Mars breathed heavily. Even with his heightened senses, the flames, the dust, the smell of burning wood and smoke, and not less importantly the stinging pain, made it hard to concentrate and see or smell anything. Looking down his right shoulder and the steel scales that he had used to defend himself from the onslaught, the cascade of explosions he realized that his right arm was gone, dark blood dripping from the wound with each pump of his runed heart. As long as it was just an arm, he thought. What was more important was the enemy. Hastily whipping around his head from side to side, the lord of war had a hard time seeing anything, except ... fire and smoke. The devastation was immeasurable. With each passing second, with each destroyed meter of Eden Mars laid eyes on, the burning fire inside his chest got closer to bursting out, his tearfilled eyes trembling with pain, not from the wound on his right side, but the pain of having failed to protect Eden, having failed to stop the invader from desecrating this holy place.

The sheer anger he felt couldn't be put into words. Darkness shooting from the wound, it formed a new arm for the lord of war before changing shape and colour, regenerating the lost limb instantly, the halo on Mars' head disappearing as his eyes started glowing with bright scarlet colour. "Enough" he simply spoke to himself before spreading his dark wings anew, lifting himself up in the air, fanatically repeating "Enough" to himself as his eyes instantly fell on the unmistakable form of the machine that was to blame for this havoc. Speaking into the telepathic link to the girl and her summons, he kept it simple "Get out of the way if you want to live" before bringing together his hands, an enormous, grey magic circle appearing below his feet. "You have overstepped the line, intruder.", his eyes that were glowing with magical power fixed on the metal monstrosity, which turned its head up to the lord of war, the containers shifting once again, forming an array of cannons, artillery, guns all aiming up at him "Prepare to face divine judgement.", Mars concentrating between his hands a sphere of wind, compressing the surrounding air and smoke further and further until it had reached about the size of a marble, glowing, almost bursting with magical energy. "I command you now", Mars spoke as he pointed both his hands at the creature "BEGONE", his booming , distorted voice echoing over the battlefield as the spherical projectile was released.

Bursting through the air towards its target, the monstrosity fired it's weaponry, but too late, the muzzle flashes drowned out by the sheer force of the ensuing explosion that engulfed the creature entirely, the enormous shockwave, ripping it apart the blink of an eye, scattering it into all directions, the noise of the metal breaking, the energy unloading and the air forcibly being pushed back indescribably loud. It was as if a huge bomb had been set of right inside the clockwork monstrosity. If something of it remained, if something would be left to give them answers, the two would perhaps find themselves lucky. For now, however, the last one of the invaders had been destroyed entirely and in the most gruesome way possible. Eden, for the time being at least, had been cleansed.
