    Clockword: Invasion. [Johann]

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux on 7th August 2018, 11:52 am

    Job Details:

The skies were especially gloomy this afternoon, no sun to be seen, omninous clouds threatened to pour down on Nessa. She genuinely hoped that the weather would remain dry though, she wasn't exactly dressed for rain. She was trekking along the cursed lands, her white trainers covered in dirt as she made her way to her destination. Hair tied back in it's usually ponytail, white band and rose in place. She wore a white long-sleeved top, and little denim shorts. Something easy for her to fight in, but didn't provide much warmth. Fortunately her magic took care of that much. Dresses were obviously cuter, but even Nessa had the sense to be practical, she couldn't exactly tell what would happen. At least if she had full mobility, that was something. Her favourite white satchel was bouncing on her shoulder, it's contents rattling loudly. Filled with all sorts of useful bits and bobs, flasks of water, bandages and so on. Enough for both her and the mystery mage that she had yet to meet.

Having fully recovered from the intense toll on her body that had been caused by the Valkyrie contract, Nessa felt as if she was finally ready to take on another job. She was eager to test out her new magic, so much so that she had trained with the girls a little already. However even a little training was not as effective as full blown combat. She was intrigued to see how well they would work together on a real mission. The job that had caught her eye had been somewhat peculiar. Sightings of mechanical creatures appearing around towns, causing havoc for the village folk. She often dealt with more mammalian monsters or lower class bandits. Facing such an odd creature would prove to be a new challenge for Nessa, Mechanical beings are like robots right? She thought to herself densely, as she travelled towards the Lycan woods. Having been dropped off on the outskirts of the cursed lands, she was now making her way on foot.

The job had been a little higher than her capabilities, as frustrating as that had been to learn. All it meant was that she had needed to send out the request for a mage to join her. Using the guilds facilities, a request had been sent and fortunately it had been accepted quite quickly. Although she had forgotten to ask back at the guild who it was that would be joining her. Just excited to be doing the job in the first place. Supposedly it was someone from The West Fiore Trading Company, Nessa's mind wandered, barely paying attention to her surrounding. Her mind filled with the wonderings of whom might be joining her. Questions rolling out one after the other; Man or Woman? Magical Type? Would they be nice? Could they become friends? Admittedly, the Starlight maiden hoped so. She always enjoyed meeting new people, since joining Fairy Tail she had so many new friends. Then again, there was also the possibility they wouldn't get along at all. Which would prove for a long and tiresome mission. Oh well, either way, I get to practice my new magic. She thought happily, no letting the niggling doubts get to her.

She arrived at the edge of the Lycan woods, she sighed, last time she was here she had taken on a Wood Vulcan in order to rescue a missing girl. That had been one hell of a difficult job for her, she wondered if she would manage okay this time. She was glad at the very least that she wasn't on her own. It occurred to her that seeing as the outskirts of the Lycan woods were so vast, it might take some time for her companion to find her. She opened her palm, a little ball of light appearing, she decided to help her fellow mage find her. Ordering her Starlight Guide to find the person who would be taking on this job with her, and lead them to her. The little floating ball of light shot off, beginning it's search. Nessa leaned against a tree, she waited, continuing to daydream in the process.

Johann sighed, staring into the square mirror on the wall before him, one hand on his neck as he turned his head from side to side, gazing at his own reflection. How could something like this even happen in the first place ? Well, Mars knew the answer, but it wasn't like he was gonna spill the secret to the now not-so-old-man. Johann's body had not just been deaged, Mars had also taken the irreversible liberties to perform some "adjustments", and as a result, the life of Johann, the Vice President of the West Fiore Trading Company, had been turned around completely in just a single day. There had not just been physical adjustments, like the removal of scars, the gunshot scar on the left side of his chest he had sustained in one of his first missions as a mage having vanished overnight, but also mental adjustments, thought it seemed like this aspect had been much more unpredictable, even for the self proclaimed demonic lord of war that had been sealed inside Jo, with side effects that had already been ... noticeable, to say the least, but would remain unexplored in entirety still, at least for the time being. Though, as one would assume, having the own personality, the own being altered by a being of immense, enigmatic powers in no more than a single day was quite the shock, and the Vice President still wasn't sure how to deal with this at all. Was this even still him ? Mars had assured that at least the mental changes had been made unconsciously when Ruvel, Jo's fellow Vice President, had tried to play with a matter he understood nothing about, modifying the runic seal on his chest without first considering the long term consequences for the cage that had Mars safely locked away and limited his influence over Johann to a minimum, instead of fixing the partially damaged cage removing it entirely, causing Mars to be instead locked to the old man as a vessel. Apparently, from the way the demon had explained it, their souls had merged. Just like that. And as things stood ... he couldn't exactly change that fact ... at all. He was neither powerful enough to lock away one of the 7 divine seals, nor was his understanding of runesmithing nearly advanced enough to even attempt such a feat on his own. He would need an entire guild worth of mages versed in the art to maybe, maybe get some results. But ... as far as he knew, there was no such thing here in Fiore, a guild specializing on runery, and so, he had but one option left: Live with the fact that how he looked like and who he was had forever been changed.

And not all these changes were positive, either. It was obvious. Where he had had a distinct preference for etiquette and formality before it had been replaced with a stoic, indifferent behaviour. Where there had been respect for the structures of authority before ... he could now care less. Perhaps it could be considered thinking more efficiently, outside of the mundane limiters of concepts such as compassion or morals, but at the same time ... thinking without feeling could be more than dangerous. One thing the mage was sure of, however. He had to get out. Right now. He needed time, he needed space. Somewhere far away from the West Fiore Trading Company on Tolgalen. A little venture to sort his thoughts. A little time he could use to find himself again. And there was but one way he knew that would help him do exactly that.

A short trip, a teleportation spell and a bit of time later Johann von Weiss, dressed in his white West Fiore Trading Company suit with the guild pin on his chest, the white, silken runed gloves on his hands and the azure rapier by his side found himself in the Cursed Lands, getting closer to the location the job had specified. To be honest, he hadn't even looked at the details of the job, his sole focus had been getting out of the guildhall as fast as possible and having an excuse to actually do so, signing up on the first thing he could get his hands on. Correspondingly to that fact he, although it maybe wouldn't be the best to admit, knew little of what to expect. He was confident that he, especially now that Mars had also modified is magical capabilities, could take on any thread coming his way, though ... sometimes raw, unrefined violence wouldn't be the answer. He sighed. Maybe he had acted with too much haste ? It was too late to turn back now, anyway. But ... he also had to find this assigned job partner of his, which could've proven somewhat difficult, even with his extremely heightened senses due to just the sheer vastness and nature of the Cursed Lands, had it not been for a peculiar little ball of floating light. At first Johann assumed it was hostile, these were the Cursed Lands, after all, and will-o-wisps were not unheard of, his hand rushing to the blade at his side, but at second glance the thing seemed nice, almost playful, or maybe that was just his imagination, floating away as soon as it had spotted him in a certain direction, the silver haired male deciding to take the chance.

And sure enough, the light had lead him to ... well, someone. He could neither confirm nor deny that the young girl, maybe around her twenties or so, was in fact the mage he was looking for, and so the best approach in this situation was to simply inquire with the person in question. "Good day, young Miss. Johann von Weiss, Vice President of the West Fiore Trading Company. I'm supposed to meet a fellow mage here in the area and, uhm, would that perhaps be you ?", Jo having trouble to keep up the more well mannered approach this time. Where he would have had no trouble with this in the past ... now it just seemed so redundant to him. "And I'm Mars, Second Se-", a giggling, distorted voice rang from the same mouth that had introduced the VP just moments before, quickly interrupted by the man speaking up with his own voice "And I'm accompanied by a friend of mine, Mars, who due to unfortunate circumstances seems to be locked inside this body and should know better when to speak and when to keep to himself.", Jo spoke harshly. "Tseehehe, but where would be the fun in that ?". Jo sighed once again. He just hoped the girl wouldn't be turned away by this rather ... strange sight, lest he would have to complete a job alone.

As Nessa stared off into space, awaiting the arrival of her companion. Her right hand rose up, gently fiddling with the little blue crystal that hung around her neck. She sighed deeply, her eyes transfixed on nothing, she continued to day dream for a little while. Her delicate features gazing on blankly, almost like she was in a trance. If it wasn't for the twiddling of her necklace, a passing individual might think she was asleep with her eyes open. It was only when the soft sound of footsteps reached her ears, did she blink the daydream away. Glancing over in the direction of the sound, she spotted her little Starlight Guide floating in the air, heading towards her. Following the ball of her light was a man in his late twenties. With silver hair, not that different in tone to her own. As a lover of clothes, Nessa couldn't help but glance over what he was wearing. The man was dressed in a very professional looking suit, dressed mainly in white. Completed with white gloves and some type of magnificent sword at his side. He kind of reminded her a bit of a knight, maybe he was one, she considered.

The closer he got, the more she had to raise her chin to look at him, he was very much taller than her. This only seem to magnify his presence in her eyes, although he didn't seem hostile or displeased, there was still something about him. Her instincts were telling her she was in the presence of a powerful person, someone much stronger than herself. She offered the gentleman her signature friendly smile, listening as he greeted her. She hadn't doubted that this was her companion, her guide had never led her wrong before. If for some reasons it couldn't get to it's target, she would sense it. It was just how the spell worked. She nodded eagerly at his question, holding out her hand in the offer of a friendly shake. It was a bit formal, she was much more of a hugging type of girl, but that would have definitely been too much. The Starlight guide floated around above her head, dancing about happily as she spoke.

"Yes, that would be me. Pleasure to meet you Mr Weiss, I'm Nessa Cordelia Lux of Fairy Tail." She replied politely, lowering her hand at this point, regardless of whether he had shook it or not. She was surprised to be standing in front of such an important sounding person, Vice President, that had to be a big role right? She suddenly felt just a tad self conscious, she hadn't really dressed to impress. However it was too late to go home and change, she would just have to suck it up. She was greeted by a second voice from him, slightly different, distorted. She blinked in surprise as it seemed two people were talking through the man. Although the secondary voice had taken her by surprise, she wouldn't go as far as to say that it bothered her. After all, everyone had their little quirks, including her. She took a moment before acknowledgement the reasoning he gave her, smiling once more. "Well nice to meet you Mars," She offered additionally.

She looked up the little ball of light. As she did, it floated down so it was a little away from her face. "Can you show where to go?" Her voice was soft and sweet, as though addressing an old friend. This question was directed at the light, the ball seemed to bounce up and down for a moment, before darting off into the trees. Staying close enough so they could still see it. She looked back at Johann, "Shall we head off?" She asked before she began walking into the forest. Now that they had met up, they had to go and find these 'mechanical beings' and deal with them. The woods were as creepy as always, eerily quiet and host to only the darkest of creatures. She couldn't help the little chill she felt as she made her way through them, she wasn't really good with creepy places. Especially the kind of settings you would find in ghosts stories, should an apparition appear, Johann would witness her scream like a banshee before passing out completely. But that's not going to happen! She told herself, pushing away any thoughts of ghosts and ghouls. She really didn't need to freak herself out before the mission had even started. She didn't wanted to look like a coward in front of her fellow mage, that would be embarrassing for both her and her guild. She looked over at him as they walked along the woods, seeing no reason as to why they should travel in silence she allowed her thoughts to become spoke queries.

"So Mr Weiss, If I'm honest, I'm not really familiar with the workings of other guilds. Vice President, what does that entail exactly?" The question was mainly one to sate her curiosity on how important this guy really was. She wondered if it was an serious as the position of an Ace, although he seemed completely different to the Aces she was used to. With Rina's perky nature and Mura's chilled one, they seemed a lot less naturally intimidating than this guy. However she was very much willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, for all she knew, the guy could be a big softie.

Occasionally she would glance forward at the guide, in case it stopped or made any sudden turns. She had no worries about the spells ability to maintain itself, it was completely harmless and required so little magic that if it were to be attacked. The ball would just vanish and reappear, there were only three reasons it might disappear completely. The first was if it had completed it's task and was no longer required, the second was that if Nessa ordered it to, and the third was that if for some reason Nessa were to fall unconscious. If none of those things occurred, the ball of light would remain, endlessly floating around.

Extending his own hand, the man shook the girls, "Heyo, Nessa. Just Johann is fine.", followed by nothing but another chuckle from Mars. The demon seemed pleased with his own introduction. "So, you're a Fairy Tail mage, hm ? Gotta say ... I'm not too terribly familiar with your guild, but I met some of your fellow mages before, so with that, nice to meet you" "Tssehehe ...". Johann already knew that this mission would become a feat, not due to the girl that called herself Nessa, but for Mars and his constant presence. It was truly a pain ... but it looked like the Vice President had to get comfortable with the demon, there wasn't really anything he could do about him, after all ... at least for the time being. "So this little ball of light is a companion of sorts to you ? Seems useful", Jo asked as Nessa talked to it, the thing reacting in the same playful manner before starting to float in another direction, responding "Right behind you, lead the way", following the Fairy Tail mage who, in turn, was following her light. It was now he took a first good look at their surroundings. Dark, as if in eternal twilight, befitting of a place called the "Cursed Lands", though not entirely convincing, either. It didn't really feel too threatening to the mage, but he wasn't exactly sure if that was Mars' doing, the merging having changed his sense of perception or if it was simply his nature. Slowly making their way into the woods, their surroundings, however, changed. The temperature dropped, the already dark environment got darker and the whole place had a rather eerie atmosphere about it. Jo didn't know if it was just his gut, or his heightened senses, but he could feel something was going wrong here, and that ancient magic was at work ...

Wondering to himself as he stared into the distance, daydreaming almost as he was lost in thoughts, the sudden sound of the girl's voice ripping him from this state "O-oh, yeah, I forget, The West Fiore Trading Company isn't really a legal guild per se, hm. Well ... Vice President essentially means second in command after the CEO of the WFTC, who leads Tolgalen. If the West Fiore Trading Company was a guild ... I guess it would be comparable to a position as a guild ace ? I share this position with my colleagues, Ruvel and Sol, though. As for what I do ... you could say the position is more paperwork than anything ...", he gave the girl a smile, "... but you gotta get out from time to time as well, don't you ? That's why I'm here. I hope that answers your question.", in fact quite happy that his job partner would show interest in what he had, over the course of the recent year, adopted as his family. Smiling weakly as he reminisced the time he had spent with his fellow guildmates he kept walking ... until, a little while later, a sudden, yet defined sound reached his ears. The grinding of gears. "Nessa. Stop for a second", he froze immediately, hoping the girl would to the same as he listened, closed his eyes, and activated his special sensory. Every breath, every tiny bit of movement within a good distance of him he could sense, envision, and locate. "Looks like we found something. There's a structure a good 100m east of here, behind those trees.", pointing in the direction, "Also, it seems like surrounding this structure are various ... constructs, I guess. They seem to be made of metal, though that is all I can sense from here.", he explained, eyes still closed before opening them again, revealing that they had turned completely black, his pupils the only thing retaining colour, glowing in a deep, crimson hue before the change slowly receded. "Finaaaally some action", a contrived yawn from Mars ringing through the back of his head as he turned to the girl. "So, any particular way you want to approach this ?", asking before determining the next course of action. If she already had a plan ... he of course wouldn't hold her back and join her in her endeavour.

Nessa appreciated the small courtesy of shaking her hand, it wasn't much but he could have easily rejected her. She nodded as he instructed her to refer to him as Johann, pleased with the familiarity. Calling someone Mister, Miss or Sir just felt so cold to her. "Oh really? Who have you met so far?" She asked, wondering if they had any mutual acquaintances. She was still pretty new, so there were a fair few fairy tail mages she didn't really know. But she felt for the most part, she had integrated herself quite well.

As he questioned her about Starlight Guide, she glanced over to it, an amused look on her face. "I mean, technically it's a spell but... I guess it's a little weird. But I kind of consider my magic as a living being, when I use it. I just.... I feel like it's got a life of it's own you know." She explained, it was strange but the gift that was he magic had been one that descending through her family for a long time. They had always treated it as alive, even if outsiders just saw it as element. Nessa loved and respected the magic greatly, and was always thankful to it when it got her out of a dangerous situation. She was just a little quirky like that.

The two of them proceeded to walk through woods, Nessa watched her footing carefully. Avoiding catching them on any rocks or branches. She had a tendency to fall over a lot, which although she was used to. For someone reason she really didn't want to fall in front of Johann, he just seemed so composed. To fall in front of someone like him, it just felt like it would be a greater humiliation than normal. She listened to his explanation of his role, looking at him in awe as he broke it down for her. So her suspicion had been right, he was an ace. It explained a lot, why his energy felt that way. Just so much more than what she was used to. She wondered what it would be like when he used his magic and noted to do her best not to get in his way.

"I see, that's really impressive. You must be very important to your guild, I'm sure they appreciate your efforts greatly." She told him, feeling like where she to work under such a man she would feel the same. He seemed like a decent enough guy and he clearly worked hard to benefit his guild.

Upon his sudden order to stop, she became instantly still. Straightening her spine, she tried to move as little as possible. Wondering what was going on, it was then a small sound reached her ears. What is that... She frowned, trying to place the noise. Machinery...? She thought, glancing around. It was then that Johann began to talk, explaining what they had discovered. She looked in the direction he was talking of, she couldn't quite see what he was talking about. But she felt that she should trust his word. Starlight guide stopped floating ahead, she sent a little order to it and it dissipated, returning to the sky. It wasn't necessary anymore, it seemed they had arrived at the location of their target.

As he questioned her ideas, she bit her lip considering her options, the thing is it was dark and her magic wasn't exactly inconspicuous. "My primary magic doesn't really have an element of surprise to it. It's pretty bright, so enemies tend to spot it before it gets to them. Plus we don't really know what we're up against, It'll be hard to gage what spell to use until I'm closer." She admitted to him, not happy about her disadvantage, she thought for a moment. Then an idea came to mind, she smiled, pleased to remember she had something else she could now use. Or rather, someone else.

The Norse symbol on the back of her back began to glow, lighting up the hair that covered it. Nessa's eyes began to change, her irises disappearing, becoming completely white. She spoke, and like when Mars spoke her voice had changed. As though several women were speaking at once. "Tiphanae."  There was a sudden breeze that filled the area, gushing through the trees hard enough to whip her hair off her back. The wind began to spin in front of them, the air become distorted from sight. As it settled down, a beautiful woman stood there, with long fair hair and angelic wings. Suited in various pieces of armour and a long sword at her hilt. The wind settled once more and Nessa returned to normal. She looked over at Tiphanae, as the Valykrie offered her a warm smile. "It is good to see you, Nessa Lux, how may I assist you?"

Nessa quickly explained the details of the job to Tiphanae, rushing through it just enough so the basics were covered. Once she finished Tiphanae glanced over at Johann, she took him in. "I assume this is not a foe."  Nessa shook her head,

"No, this is Johann, he's here to help." She told the Valkyrie, Tiphanae eyes seemed to rake over the man, a small mischievous smirk on her lips. "He's strong, strong and handsome. Careful Nessa Lux, you don't want to add another point to that triangle of yours."  She said to the girl with a teasing wink, Nessa face turned beetroot, she stomped her foot.

"There is NO triangle." She barked defensively,  "Look forget about that, can you fly above us and keep an eye out. Try to stay hidden though, I'll call for you when the time calls." Tiphanae's smirk never faltered, she nodded, before flapping her strong white wings and shooting upwards. Disappearing into the cover of the trees. Nessa sighed, these Valkyries and their obsession with romance... She thought. She looked at Johann apologetically, "Sorry about that. I let you lead, and follow with Tiph. I'll try to save using my primary magic until we're basically on the targets." She told him, hoping this was acceptable.

When Nessa shook his hand Johann gave a friendly smile. At least his job partner turned out to be ... surprisingly agreeable. Thinking about some of the other mages he had had to deal with in the past ... well, everyone has their own charm ... in a way. Answering the girl's next question, he took a second to think, unsure if he had missed any mages in his head who hadn't introduced themselves as members of the famous legal guild, Fairy Tail, when he'd met them, but ... well, as it stood, he could only think of two. "Well, for one there would be Althea, who wore your guild mark. A most ... unique person, indeed. Then also someone who called themselves Aven Alveron, whom I couldn't help but admire for his brilliant use of magic ... but, in honesty, not counting you, that's about it", Johann laughed a little nervously, not sure if that was what the girl wanted to hear or if she even knew those people at all.

After that, when the topic shifted to the girl's magic, Johann couldn't help but smirk. It was truly ironic, he couldn't have found better words for himself. "Yeah, I can very much understand how it is when your magic seems to have a life on its own. I was born without magic, you see, and, well, it seems that all magic I possess at current comes from Mars.", the demon chuckled. Well, she didn't have to know it was a demon, and, to be honest, the lord of war wasn't really something that could be considered a curse or a blessing. Perhaps something in between those two states ? Jo had never really thought about it too much ... maybe because he didn't know that Mars had been there for most of his life ? Or maybe due to the fusion that had happened between the two he now had come to realize just how important the other entity inside him actually was ? He wasn't sure ... in any case, he wouldn't waste too much time thinking about it when he had a job to do and a fellow mage to assist.

A short bit of walk and conversation later, Johann was a little startled by Nessa's reply to his explanation. He had never really thought about what he meant to the guild, only what the guild meant to him "H-huh ? I-I mean, I'm sure ... I'm sure they do, heh", scratching the back of his head with a raised hand. Well, Cirven and Ruvel most definitely appreciated how they could load off their paperwork on his desk when the opportunity presented itself ... No, it certainly must've been more than that, he figured. He wouldn't be a Vice President otherwise ... right ? "T-thank you for the kind words", Jo laughed nervously. He truly did appreciate it. In times like these ... he sure could use them.

Another little while later, after Johann had asked about a plan, he listened carefully now that things seemed to have gotten a little more serious. "Uhm, I don't really know if my magic has a natural element of surprise to it or not either, but ... one thing, if this turns into a fight, it seems I have no choice but to either hand control over to Mars and he'll become the dominant personality or we'll share this body as equals. Just a fair warning, he's ... an odd soul, to say the least." Johann spoke with serious and somewhat distant voice. He hadn't used these newfound powers of his too much other than the whole recent incident in Minstrel, so he didn't really know what to expect and figured it would only be adequate to inform Nessa. But ... even though the girl had said that she commanded what the Vice President would think was light, she suddenly flashed with magical energy, speaking what appeared to be a name with a voice that indeed wasn't too far from Mars using Johann as a medium. And sure enough, just a moment later Johann's semi long, Silver hair was blown to a side as a strong breeze, a gust suddenly hit him, coalescing into a tangible form to form ... a woman ? Clad in armour, a sword by her side and wings on her back, her appearance being accompanied by a not very subtle whistle from Mars, "Well isn't she a beauty, hm, old man ?", ringing through the back of Jo's head. Johann only response was a sigh. "So not just a caster, but a summoner as well, hm ? Quite impressive, I must admit" Johann said with a friendly tone while giving the new arrival a short bow. He had seen the complexity and intricacy of summoning magic himself, Ruvel, his fellow VP, commanding it nigh perfectly.

But ... what was the rest about ? A triangle ? The VP definitely found himself lost at the sudden outburst of emotion from the Fairy Tail mage, but it wasn't really his business and if the girl would be uncomfortable talking about it he wouldn't really push the matter. It wasn't his place to know, anyway. The summon though would most certainly add to their strength, and that he would care about. Seeing her fly up, Johann gave Nessa a nod. "Alright. I guess I do have an advantage over whatever constructs these would be in sheer speed, at least it's likely.", Johann almost chuckled. He was known as the local speed demon in the WFTC. "I'll throw myself in the fray and create a distraction that you guys can use to advance. Before we storm off though ...", Johann raised a hand to about shoulder height, removing a glove briefly to reveal the runed hand beneath, the skin almost looking like a good portion of it had been covered by tattoos of blank ink scripture. A moment later, the runes briefly flashed with light and glow, sending out a soft, subtle, almost gentle wave of magic around the VP that rushed to his own and Nessa's form, forming around their right wrists what appeared like a bracelet of runes that glowed in 10 different, vibrant colours. "This you can use to infuse your magic with any of the runes' elements. I need not explain how it works or which elements to use, you simply need to focus on your magic, and you will know. It will provide you with great magical strength. So, guess that means ...", Johann turned towards the source of the noise, the smell of oil and rust, Mars cackling excitedly, his voice echoing through the VP's very being, humming gleefully almost "...Now we're going to waaaar, now we're going to waaaar, tssehehe...", the rune mage drawing his rapier "... see you over there. Mars, you know what to do.", from his mouth echoing the other voice "Won't have to tell me twice".

The air around Johann flickered for a second, booming with magical power before his form exploded into a stream of wind, Johann's body vanishing in a burst of extreme speed that instantly broke the sound barrier with a characteristic, audible crack. Reappearing in a burst of force, Johann blinked, his eyes seeing for the first time what had produced those sounds and smells from earlier. A shifting mass of machines, a few dozens, possibly, what appeared like artificially constructed avians dwelling on the ground while a few machines that almost resembled jellyfish in their build were floating, seemingly stationary, surrounding the structure he had sensed earlier. Now that he could get a good look, it was much more impressive than he had anticipated. An arc of clean, entirely black stone, the space within flashing with blue energy and sparks. Johann could tell what this was, for he used a similar method to travel to his "mansion", a dimensional gateway. The situation seemed worse than anticipated. Whatever this was ... it had come from the other side of this portal, most likely, and they probably wouldn't be too friendly either. Just as the VP finished these thoughts, the machines seemingly sprung to life, the attention turning to the new threat. So those were guards, huh ? Either way, didn't matter too much to either Mars or the VP. "Your turn, demon. Show them what you can do. Suscitatio", Johann spoke the command sharply as his eyes once more turned black, the pupils again shining with bright crimson colour, the runes that normally limited their presence to only the left side of his body digging across his skin, the scripture spreading, burning across all visible flesh before taking the same glow as the VP's eyes, "Showtime".

From the runes on the man's body it looked like liquid metal started to leak out, quickly shifting, engulfing every bit of skin before hardening into what appeared like a scale armour. A gleeful, toothy grin spread across the man's face as machine after machine turned to him, the rattling and shifting of gears suddenly popping up everywhere "Ah, finally, some fresh air. Hey, you metal numbnuts ! I'm over heeereeee ~", Mars shouted for every of these beings to sense, the horde of ... well, "robo-chickens", charging at him while what could only be described as mecha-jellyfish retreated back to the gate, probably about 30 or so avians producing sounds that were not entirely un-chicken-like, though very mechanical in nature. "So that's all ? You let me out to fight birds ? How boring" Mars faked a yawn. "You do not entertain me, artificial creatures. Begone !", waving his hand before him in a sweep motion, the runes on his body, along with his eyes, suddenly changing colour to a deep blue, a thin wave of water bursting from the runes on his hand. The first few rows of these robo-chickens were instantly torn asunder, ripped apart by the sheer pressure of the spell, the next ones simply cut into two pieces cleanly, falling to the ground, motionless before finally, the wave met the earth, throwing up dirt and grass as it dissipated. Mars cackled. If they all were this weak this would be, while not too terribly entertaining, a walk in the park.

She listened to him as he mentioned the other Fairy Tail guild members he had met, nodding along with his comments. "Ah yes, I know Althea, and Aven is actually my teammate. He really does have amazing magic, so much more complicated than mine. " She told him, Aven never ceased to impress her with the way he used his magic, it was so flawless and well manipulated. Much more smoother round the edges than her own techniques, she was much more of a rush in and throw your punches kind of girl. "Honestly, I think you're the first person from the West Fiore Trading Company that I've actually met." She told him. She hadn't had that much interaction outside her own guild, it made for a pleasant change to meet someone new. On top of that he was completely different from what she was used to, making it all the more interesting to interact with him.

Nessa raised her eyebrows in slight surprise when Johann told her about how he was born without magic, having learned her magic from a very early age, she couldn't imagine what it would've been like to live without it. Nessa noticed Johann's startled look by her comment and wondered briefly if she had said something to offend. Re-thinking her words, she tried to work out how to make up for it. However, she was quickly put at ease with Johann's gratitude, she smiled at him. "Oh it's nothing. I know I'm grateful for my aces, it's seems like such a hard job. Personally, I don't know If I could handle it myself," She said with an awkward laugh, not that she hadn't daydreamed about it. But still, taking charge like that and leading others. Was it really suited for someone as naïve and impatient as herself? She didn't quite have the self-control she assumed would come with the role. She was a bit... reckless at times.

As he explained his magic to her she nodded, it seemed they were in the same boat, she wondered what it would look like when he used his magic. She had never met anyone who channelled their magic through another entity. She let out a naïve little laugh at his warning, "Don't worry about odd, you should meet my family. They're the definitely of 'weird'." After it came out she flushed again, raising her hands in a defensive manner. "Not that I want you to meet my family or anything, that would be inappropriate of me. I mean, I was just using them as an example." She looked down, staring at the ground awkwardly, You're such a eejit. She scolded herself.

After her interaction with Tiphanae, Nessa felt herself flush even more little at Johann's compliment. It was almost like being given feedback from a teacher at school. She twiddled the end of her shorts, "Ah, um, thank you. I'm sure it's nothing compared to what you can do." She told him. She straightened up as he went through the plan with her, taking it in. It was pretty clear cut, Johann would jump in, start creating havoc and Nessa would join in at the right time. It was definitely a plan she could get on bored with. She felt herself get a little excited, firstly to see what Johann was capable of and seconded to do a little work her. It had been a break snice her last job and she was itching to get back into the fray. Nessa watched intently as Johann began to conduct a spell of sorts, she scanned the tattoos on his hand, trying to get a good look. As the runes began to glow, Nessa felt the soft wave of magical envelope her. She glanced back at Johann's face then back at his hand, then back to her own hand. Her right wrist specifically, where a bracelet covered in runes appeared. She stared at it, taking in Johann's explanation of how it works. She grinned, she looked at all the different coloured runes. "Thank you Johann!" She said, the excitement and gratitude clear in her voice. She couldn't wait to try it out.

The air was filled with a boom of magical power, with so much force she winced a little as the wind whipped her hair back and Johann disappeared with a loud crack. It seems they had begun, she began her approaching, moving quickly and stealthily through the trees, closer to where Johann was facing the enemy. Peeking around a tree, she watched in awe as the guy, who even looked different was taking out the robotics animals with ease. As she watched a row of mechanical chickens ripped apart with a simple wave of his hand, she let out a little "Whoa." She took a breathe, from the looks of it Johann could probably do this job on his own, without even batting an eyelid. But still, she wasn't about to let him, she had a reputation to uphold, that of hers and Fairy Tails.

She looked at the bracelet, wondering how it would work. Starlight was basically on the same wavelength of elemental magic so it shouldn't be too hard to pick up. Stepping out from the cover of the trees, she ran into the fighting, throwing out her right palm she felt her magic rush forward, pooling in her hand. The light spread outwards, forming into a sword of starlight. Feeling the bracelet on her wrist fuelling her with magic, the starlight sword began to crackle with electricity. She looked at it, smirking, well they were mechanical after all. Having spotted her some of the chickens surged forward. Adjusting her stance, she gripped the sword with both hands. Swinging it through the air in a carefully aimed blow, she carved through three of the chickens in one go. Spinning she continued to swing her sword, taking out multiple targets with each blow. As was fending off a chicken that was trying to dodge her swings, she noticed a Mechanical Jellyfish heading towards her, "Tiph." She called, a moment later, the Valkyrie came swooping down from the trees, swinging her palm, she released a gust of wind. So forceful the jellyfish was slammed backwards into a tree, whirring once more the machine came forward and Tiphanae pulled out her sword, taking on the jellyfish robot. Nessa smiled at her before turning back to her targets and carving up another chicken.
