    Beryl Vermillion Empty Beryl Vermillion

Post by Beryl Vermillion 23rd April 2018, 8:56 pm

    Name:
    Beryl Vermillion
    Gender:
    Male
    Age:
    Twenty-four
    Birthday:
    December Twenty-Sixth
    Sexuality:
    Homosexual
    Special Characteristics:
He carries the crest of the fallen Noble House of Vermillion branded into his pale flesh. Blistered into the otherwise smooth pale canvas of his center back would be an almost eloquent burn shaped into the exquisite likeness of a single budding rose.

    Personality:
“In my darkness I sought it; within the light I could never have it. From my first breath to my last I seek it; where are you… My one true destiny?”
Beryl was born into a hollow home; his household a mere relic of an archaic age where their name actually carried weight. In this era though, the name Vermillion lacked any luster or prestige; and yet Beryl was raised under the misconception that the Vermillion name was one of great trial and power. Of course this would be of great misgiving when the reality of his situation was uncovered. As a boy who thought he could be a King to be given the revelation that his blood is no more royal or worthy than a diseased rat was incredibly twisted. While his parents, kind but mechanical, raised him to believe that the Vermillion era would come again it was at a young age that he was forced to realize that they lived within delusion. The destiny they sought… It was not one he could pursue. While the young Vermillion had endured tribulation after tribulation it is not the suffering or derangement that define his personality; it is the smile which remains. Even upon his darkest hour the kind and warm smile of Beryl never left. It is this great mental durability that has made him a reckonable force; though he may be gentle as the swaying autumn breeze, he does not fall like the great Oak tree. Even with the fires of war fanning his own temper to a boil, he does not show it. He would sooner bite his own tongue before releasing his wrath. It is perhaps this loving nature, this absolute resolution to kindness that is the lynchpin that holds his mind together; among those around him, he has been called nothing short of fatherly. He who carries himself with the prestige of a noble, and yet besmirches not those who hold the blood of vermin has made him quite the socialite. Though despite this appealing nature, he is incredibly bashful around others; unable to deal well with compliments he is prone to fits of stammering and being generally tongue tied.

As one would expect, those destined to be King would surely know how to lead the masses; and so what of one who thought they were meant to be a King? Though ego and delusions no longer rattle his mind, the commanding presence that was taught to him has not yet receded. While no nation may never yield to his whim, he has retained the knowledge and know-how of a basic leader. In combining his naturally paternal persona with militaristic mannerism he can become a leader of great uniformity. While he tries to maintain his great charity and kindness, it is the teachings of a leader that stop him from letting his gentleness being put before the safety and general cohesiveness of the team at hand. This means, should it call for fire he shall bring forth burning fury the likes of which none have seen before. Regrettable as it may be to his personal morals, he understands one thing above all else; He will always place the mission first. Not himself, and not others. It is perhaps this obvious soldier mentality that makes the combative side of Beryl so fascinating; that he can go from the kindest soul you could ever imagine, to the most chillingly brutal killer… Without ever losing his smile.

    Likes:
Flowers; Perhaps expected, one of the biggest fancies of Beryl is his love of all flora. He often can be found sketching the many different flowers he comes across; storing their depictions along with brief poetic descriptions within a small leather bound journal.
Sketching; An obvious choice for his enjoyed things would be sketching, something he has done often since his youth. He finds it therapeutic to sketch the world around him, while a number of his drawings tend to be of different arrays of flowers he has on occasion drawn both landscapes and persons.
Singing; He often has found that to cast away the grey skies of a dreary world that song can be quite effective; and so while his voice may be rather lacking he will sing his heart out for all to hear the beauty and peace he seeks.
    Dislikes:
Himself; Though he may not acknowledge it outwardly, Beryl is quite self-loathing. The confident and gentle man is disgusted quite often in his own weakness, often does he pray to become a mere mindless beast so that he can be released from his own tortured mind. Of course though, he does not actively pursue wicked means to lose his own humanity; merely these thoughts are often a passing fancy, something to muse one moment and forget by the next.
War; This dislike is complicated, he understands that war is more within a morale grayness and is actually an excellent tool for progression and evolution of social society, but he cannot help but loathe the darkness heralded by the hatred. He is not so naïve as to believe that there could ever be a world without war, and neither would he attempt to preach of international peace; instead he is just left with a sourness in his mouth from his acknowledgement of the condition of war and its eternal assimilation into the foundation of Human Nature.
Religion; A dislike which surprises many is the disgust that Beryl has in regards to organized religion. This though is due in part from the persecution of his bloodline from the Church of Old; clad in the bondage of his ancestors, this hatred will last until his last breath and beyond. It is the Will of Vermillion to curse those who stripped them of their place in this world for merely bringing a natural order with their heralding Death by nature.
    Motivations:
Self-Discovery; He has been lost for years, without a Shepard to lead him unto Salvation. It is his desperation for understanding his place that he continues forward, through storm and shine he marches in search of his one true destiny.
Friendship; Though he is driven by great personal drive, he still feels a lingering but powerful desire to do right by those he considers his friends. He would challenge the very Heavens, and damn himself to the depth of Hell for the sake of those he finds worthy.
The Vermillion Lineage; Those born into the House of Vermillion have since ages untold been blighted by the bloodline of the Reaper, and in so can naturally bring forth the omission of life. This deathly presence is deplorable, and it has brought ruin to their family; and so Beryl has sought to end his bloodline’s suffering. Refusing to have children, he has swept the lands like a hurricane in search of a means to purge his blood of this once ‘Blessing’.
    Fears:
Himself; The most obvious answer in regards to his fears would be himself. His very presence can command Death, and for one who loves Life this tragic betrayal of nurture verses nature is horrifying. If uncontrolled, he can destroy that which he loves; and it is this fear that has forced him from developing bonds with many in the past.
The Vermillion Lineage; He fears that his bloodline will either end with him, or that he will never find the means to abolish the Reaper’s blessing from the Vermillion lineage; damning those who carry his name to bring forth the Death he has, and to be shunned and exiled as he had. He cannot help but fear that his own child could be treated as a disease simply for carrying this contemptible blood.
Karma; This is perhaps one of the more interesting fears of Beryl, he fears the weight of his sins will be brought before him in judgement. He may lack religious affinity, but he still is afflicted by the death and hatred he has brought into this world. As a man who wanted only to birth love and peace, he fears that the cycle of hatred he started will forever consume him. He fears… That he may never escape his own sins.

    Weight:
    195 lbs. (One-Hundred Ninety-Fives Pounds)
    Hair:
A messy medium cut Fringe style / Platinum Blonde

    Appearance:
A brilliant golden mane complimenting piercing blue eyes; a cold sorrowful gaze that is contrasted by a loving warm smile. The appearance of this lonely giant is often one of someone well groomed; taking great care to style himself and to remain up to standard in hygiene. While he may lack swollen muscles that burst the very seems of his attire, the physique of Beryl is one well kept; muscles honed and sculpted thus he is by no means a slender man, yet not quite fitting the description of 'Bearish'. In regards to outfits though, due to his pale complexion he can often be found in either winter or spring colors to contrast and compliment his complexion. His most iconic casual wardrobe being a simple black turtleneck paired with khaki slacks, and basic ebony loafers. Of course though, in times of conflict he has readily at his disposal a gladiatorial armor of icy likeness; pale silver steel accented with cooling veins of azure that decorate the armor in an almost floral design.
