    Mantis Shrimp Under Fire

Post by Haraka Omaras on 7th March 2018, 6:50 pm

Haraka arrived in Sjach Taoul, a city in the Tolgalen continent. His orders were to retrieve an item and stop an attack. 'What should I expect?' He wondered this with nerves bundled up before actually arriving. He had a long trench coat on with a deep hood, its fabric thick enough and sleeves long enough to cover the light his body produced. The first thing that was easy to notice as soon as the demon got near the city, things were in chaos. It wasn't clear how much of the city was, or how far spread out the group was, but that was why he had to act as fast as he possibly could. 'Assume the worst and work up from there.' Shoes sounded against the streets as the young looking adult rushed to the city. It didn't take long to spot one, but no others were with the thief. That must mean they split up, which could spell bad news. The face smile faded, his hidden expression fading to a focused one. The thief had been too busy breaking open a door to notice the tall crustacean man coming until a punch had already sank to their stomach. It wasn't the most skilled punch, but at the least, it had been well placed with a lot of momentum behind it. The robbers body arched a bit to the pain, leaving Omaras with the chance to handcuff them. This was merely the bodies natural reaction to pain, it was good to take advantage of it.

As soon as the pain wore off, the person kicked the mantis shrimp on the legs, possibly having been aimed at a soft area that the leg hadn't quite reached. In any case, Haraka restrained their legs with some rope before looking over the door briefly. It looked pretty banged up, what could he do? Well he could figure that out after there were no more of that group going around the city. There was another nearby, looked to have someone elses bag. It was easy to tell when the one robbed was trying hopelessly to catch them. How would Omaras catch them? Maybe... He ran at the person, thinking over the possibilities. 'Wind requires close combat, lightening requires I stand still, plants require neither to throw but would get angry if I summoned a fruit just to toss. Maybe I can...' This was how Haraka ended up making dark pearls and tossing them at the thief, causing them to trip on the multitude of tiny round things rolling around. The demon slowed down as he got closer to avoid the same sort of fate He put the thief in restraints, getting the legs first before getting a punch to the face. A few punches later and he got the arms. He checked the bag to make sure it was actually the citizens before handing it over. The person told him where she saw a few of the thieves, leaving the demon to thank her than be on his way. 'I need to work on my running stamina later...'

This was how the young looking demon started on his way to get to a part of the city a few blocks away. Omaras got less than halfway there before seeing three pop out of a bank. With a bit more effort and a burning sensation making his lungs feel hot dry, he got next to one of them. It was only so easy to get so close so fast as the three were weighted down by the money taken. A blue wind started to move around the slate blue skinned person before quickly gathering up in wind in a oval ball. The spell was used quickly, the screams that come with the wind moving with the robber that it struck back, hitting a different robber with the one that had been pushed back. A punch landed on the one still near by, a short lived brawl simply due to the thief refusing to let go of the taken goods. Haraka put the person in restraints before going after the last two. They had paused from the disorientation the wind could cause, but by then it had started wearing off already. 'At least their greed drags them down.' The two remaining of those that got the bank were easy enough to catch up to. One took out a knife, swiping harakas chest with it before aiming to stab. He wasn't exactly a gold star at dodging, or even a bronze medal winner. This left a hand well stabbed, but at least he managed to use that to get the weapon from the thief. Blood was fine, he could fix that later. The knife was tossed and he proceeded to try kicking for once.

A kick hit one of the thieves. It was badly placed, not very effective. One of the two tossed a punch and hit Harakas face. Pain wasn't a bothersome thing to the demon to feel personally, but it still made his body react. His body flinched, but the mind made his arms move. It didn't take too many hits to get one of the two left, but part of that was probably due to how shocking it had to have been to see someone pull a knife out of their hand and toss it without screaming, a stranger would be unlikely to know that he couldn't. The last of the three was the hardest, as that one was the one that realized they should get go of the loot for fighting. Still, a lot of bruises peppered on the young looking demon were left on him from the struggle. With the three that had been robbing the bank all cuffed and bound, he took the bags back to the bank. After the bank had it's money back and robbed citizens had their robbed items back, Omaras went back on his original task Hopefully the remaining robbers were still in the city. None of the ones he stopped so far had the stolen item that had been taken from the guild. 'So much running is hard to take.' It was when he got to the location that he didn't see any thieves, but he did see a broken door. Was the culprit there? He gently knocked the door, calling inside. It looked like a store that had closed, but it wouldn't be good to check unannounced.

He could be alerting a thief, but he might be telling someone innocent inside that he meant no harm. Haraka realized this was very stupid to do as soon as he felt something metallic hit against his head, then stomach. It happened as soon as he had walked inside, the pain from the head strike causing everything to go out of focus briefly. His face did not react to it, but his body definitely did. His rationality was temporarily pushed to the side, his non wounded hand swiping at the direction of the thief. A harsh kick to the middle of the demons back landed, an indication that the swipe had probably missed. A fist swung towards what he hoped was the person, this time it did feel like he made some contact. Another strike headed for the shrimps head, but it was blocked with one of his arms. It hurt his arm a lot, but it was better than letting himself get put in a daze over head pain again. His sight had cleared enough to where Omaras could actually aim, so he started by trying to grab that horrible metal pipe from that mans hands. The struggle felt a bit desperate, until the person let go of the weapon. It was a bit confusing, until the thief took out a knife. He tried to move out of the way for once in his life, but failed to move enough. The blade went into the side of his upper torso, but not fully. This meant it wasn't that deep, but it also meant the thief was able to pull it out with ease to try again.

The young looking man took a step back before trying to give a kick. It hit, but it also earned his leg a bit of a stab from a knife. Haraka dropped the pipe, aiming a punch to the thief's stomach. Finally, he was able to restrain and cuff the person. After arms and legs were restrained he proceeded to remove anything that looked remotely like it could help the person escape the restraints. On the bright side, the person had the missing item on them that had been stolen from the guild. With that tucked away, the main was dragged out of the building and the knife removed from the shrimps leg. The door used wood, so Omaras was able to fix the broken wood. A lot of running later and a lot of punches, and the rest of the thieves were caught, placed in restraints, and he fixed the damage done that he could and handed the items stolen that he didn't know the owner of to the local police. Handing the robbers to the police took awhile, but he managed. He limped, the wounds hurt, head hurt, none of this felt okay. 'I need to learn how to fight.'
