    Personality: Outside of battle Alfreid is probably best described as being lazy. He spends a large amount of his free time sleeping, or eating. He seems to be perpetually tired, constantly yawning as he goes about his business. This might be part of the reason that he is a very calm individual. He rarely worries, often understating the trouble or danger he might be in. He often thinks that situations will work themselves out without too much trouble. He will usually look for the quickest was to solve a problem so it can be over and done with, letting get back to relaxing. He would usually be considered a friendly enough individual, rarely picking a fight with others if it can be avoided, and is more than happy to drink and laugh with friends when he's awake. He does however have a tenancy to be quite forgetful at times, which can often land him in trouble.

    In combat, Alfreid has some similarities to his regular personality. He still aims to end fights as fast as he can, with as few strikes as he can get away with. He likes to use precision shots with his magic, aiming for critical points to disable his enemies. He also prefers to fight one on one, rather than fighting in groups. He appreciates the simplification of fighting a single target, and he likes to treat it as a matter of honour. In his mind it's the best test of a combatants ability, as they can only rely on themselves. He makes a decent enough leader, able to martial a team in combat when needed. He prefers however to be a follower, making his life simpler by following orders.

    Likes:

    • Peace and Quiet: Alfreid loves to relax, and it's easiest to do it when the situation is quiet and calm


    • Combat: Although Alfreid may like to lounge around most of the time, combat is one of the few things he actively does enjoy. He likes to test himself through a fight, especially when he can win.


    • Sleep and Food: For Alfreid, these are the most important aspects of life. He sleeps between meals and eats between sleeps. Not just because he needs to but because he enjoys it.
      It's a simple pleasure, and it suits him just fine.


    Dislikes:

    • Hectic Situations: Apart from combat, Alfreid doesn't like to be rushed or flustered. When stressed is productivity drops massively and makes him quite irritable at times.


    • The cold: Ailfred may not have been born there, but he has spent a huge amount of in hot and arid environments like deserts and bad lands. After acclimatizing to these conditions,
      he really does suffer in the cold.


    • Secrets: Ailfred likes things to be kept simple, and secrets make this difficult. He would ideally like everyone to be open about their thoughts and past. Of course this will never happen,
      but he likes to dream.


    Motivations:

    • Martial Prowess: Alfreid prides himself with being a talented combatant, and so he will take what opportunities he can to try and better himself and make a name for himself as a fighter.


    • Lawkeeping: Alfreid has learnt that working on the right side of the law is a good place to make money if you play your cards right. Because of this he always keeps an eye out for law enforcement jobs during his travels. He also like the authority that these jobs provide him with,
      as well as additional perks.


    • Camaraderie: Although he spends a lot of time sleeping or fighting solo, friend and family are very important to Alfreid. He will do what he can to help them and look out for them.


    Fears:

    • The Night: Alfreid is always more on edge when awake at night. He develops an irrational paranoia of monsters creeping up on him in the night. This does not help him with jobs in the slightest, as he can often overreact to regular things.


    • Magic he Doesn't Understand: There has been a lot of magic lost over time, most of it exceedingly powerful and dangerous. It is magic like this that Alfreid doesn't trust, often feeling that some things are better left buried in the past when it comes to magic.


    • Loss: Though he'll never admit it, Alfreid fears losing what he has gained over the years.
      This includes his home, money, friends and family. It's a fear that he doesn't expect to come to fruition, but it is always in the back of his head.



    General Appearance

    Skin Tone: Weather beaten
    Appearance: Alfreid is a gaunt looking figure. Despite the fact that he eats as if he's starving, he never seems to put on any weight, or muscle for that matter. He bears a similar resemblance to a skeleton with skin stretched over it. He usually has a soft smile on his face, giving him a friendly appearance to those that approach him. He has bright green eyes that more often than not are glazed over due to him being sleepy. His hair is of medium length and is always slicked back over his head. The only other feature is that there is a centre parting that is usually hidden by his had. On his face he keeps a well trimmed mustache and beard. It is trimmed in a Napoleon III Imperial fashion, and it is meticulously maintained, without a hair out of place.

    The rest of Alfreids appearance however is not nearly so well kept. His clothing is battered and covered in dust. More often than not he looks like he slept in them, usually because he did. He wore a set of dark brown boots that were heavily scuffed, the sole falling off one. on the back of the boots were a set of brass spurs that jingled when he moved. Above these were a set of
    dark grey suit trousers, though they seem to be missing the upper half. One leg has a couple of patches around the knee as well. Half tucked into the trousers is a white shirt, covered in dust and dirt. Tied around the neck of the shirt he wears a rusty bolo tie. The tie currently has no pattern on it, instead it was a simple metal oval. Over the top of his shirt he wears a creased and battered rich brown waistcoat. The waistcoat is held together with tarnished silver buttons and more than a few stitches. He usually wears a long grey trench coat that reaches down to the floor and has a long split in the back for riding purposes. This is actually in quite well kept in comparison to the rest of his clothing, although it is covered in dust. Finally, perched on top of his head is a battered, dark grey had. The hat has a wide brim to keep the sun off his face, and a band of light grey material around its circumference. He usually uses this for storing notes so he reduces his chance of forgetting things.
