Most days when Jiyu woke up and began the next twenty four hours of a life that would now be an eternity for her short of being killed by another god? She behaved exactly the way she had when she thought herself an average canine demon, the whole deal of rolling from bed haphazardly almost hurting herself in her own small room before hiking some all too skimpy outfit on to head downstairs and eat some breakfast befitting of a dog. At least that was how she used to start her days, she did all that and than wandered to the job board and took several jobs that kept her out of Rose Garden and even sometimes out of contact to even Makoto for weeks at a time. Honestly, it was just another way of running far as she possibly could away from even herself. Jiyu may have settled psychically into Black Rose, she played all the parts perfectly, did everything any good member would, made herself quiet the remarkable ace. However, all of it was really most times truthfully because she did not want to look in the mirror, she had no desire to remember anything she had once done or who she had once been, and she also had no reason for moving to think about what she would do with the eternity she had handed to her. Jiyu had been just fine with eventually dying of her life style or old age, it had never been something she ran from because it would bring an end to her running, now the fleeing had no end, no matter what she did the wind witch was still running, she couldn't seem to stop. Jiyu also could not seem to tell anyone she was running, nor what she was running from.

Now more than ever, Jiyu did everything to stay busy in some way. If someone went looking for her in Rose Garden today they would hear multiple sightings of her, she had helped out at a fish shop, aided the woman at the flower vendor, partook in cleaning up several shops; Than the real kicker, she had somehow even helped the local black smith, that was a true sign that Jiyu was desperate to keep busy, she was terrified of fire. Though, the man had been impressed with how much she knew about everything in the forge, even likely commented it seemed the girl may have grown up with one, even knew the client he was forging for at the moment. Even though all she did was rearrange his weapon's and suck into a better sale arrangement. Either way, everywhere someone commented about something she did when asked where the wind witch was, but no one could seem to tell where she was now.

At the far edge of the town was where the Inugami could finally be found, and the first sighting would be quiet a heart stopper. Jiyu was falling from the sky, as she had chosen to materialize there and just not levitate, instead go straight falling through the air for a good minute. On closer look, she was holding night hunt, her quiver against her back, pale arm swiftly going to grab a few arrows. Jiyu continued to free fall, elfin ears twitching sharply listening to her element whisper, pulling the bow string back with two arrows in it, firing them as she fell and righting herself drifting to the ground afterwards. "Damn it. Still two off." she looked in front of her once she landed, two targets hidden within the tree's, she was still two rings off the center of them. "I should have started practicing firing while I'm moving a lot sooner." she could hit anything so long as she was still, but if she was free falling, or trying to use her flight capabilities, couldn't be still, it seemed her aim still had a bit of work to do.

Of course anyone who knew she was pretty much blind would find the aim she already had impressive, but it was not enough for her.

    Leila Vergious Golden Phoenix A-Rank

Panic and chaos. The battlefield was dominated by them as the blindingly white barrier erected around Leila, isolating her from the rest of the Reality. Everyone around was only able to helplessly watch as Unknown, the miracle demon placed his hand on the girl’s bosom and activated his power. A magical circle in the shape of a clock appeared behind her and started ticking out mercilessly, giving her but measly twelve seconds left with her current sense of self. The demon she thought was gone for good once again managed to insert himself into her life and dominate it to the very last bit. Was this her fate after all? The one mistake she made thousands of years ago and the one mistake that allowed her to live this life, to meet everyone she had ever met. A mistake that made her fall in love and then be broken. A mistake that made her be happy and smile every single day. A mistake that was her everything. In the end, her existence was cursed after all. A Void Spirit born to be alone and to wander forever, fading into the endless abyss at one point or another. But the demon did not let that happen. He approached Aurora and offered a deal. Power to create in exchange for her soul down the line. At that very moment, the girl knew nothing of emotions, nothing of words, she knew nothing at all for she was a creature born to live an empty existence.

With nothing to lose at all, she agreed and became capable of creating the Gardens of Eden after thousands of years of solitude. She learned of emotions and how it felt to not be alone. From nothingness, she gained everything. And only for it all to be taken away when the demon returned for her soul. In a desperate attempt to escape the demon’s clutches, the goddess created a spell that would allow her to be reborn, an act that would hopefully null the contract. But a force from Earthland, an old mage that was attempting to harness the power of Eden, made the spell fail and instead break Aurora’s soul into several pieces. Only two of them remained large enough to have their own will. Aurora and Leila. What was once a singular being was now two. And while Leila was born like this and started fresh as her own individual, she was still part of Aurora. She was still part of the contract. And the demon never went away. However, he decided to entertain himself by watching the two sisters eventually find one another and fight over control of their lives and the Gardens of Eden. That was the fated mission that was supposed to end everything. On that day, Leila entered the Gardens accompanied by her best friend, Jiyu Kazehime. A girl that she fell for but was denied for a certain male had already managed to steal her heart. On that day, everything was meant to end.

Gaining the favor of every single spirit present in this world, Leila grew powerful enough to face Aurora at the core of her own world. And there, they fought. With the help of Jiyu and her spirits, the silver-haired maiden emerged from the battle victorious and her bigger half, defeated from all sides, faded away. Leaving only a single ivory-white tree in the center of their world. She was to be gone forever, leaving Leila as the new Goddess of Eden. However, only mere weeks ago, something happened. That very friend who ensured Leila’s victory lost control over her own powers and went berserk. Unable to control the other sides of her persona, she lost herself in the endless sea of godhood. With seemingly no way to help her, the girl decided to finally end it all. Crushed by the death of her other half and slowly being consumed by the darkness of the demon, she decided to sacrifice her very existence in order to activate a Primordial Seal. A powerful ancient magic that could seal anything away for the right price. And she succeeded. As her body faded away into nothingness, Jiyu was her own again. And all four sides of her new self would enter a forced state of peace, at least for the time being. An existence only allowed to continue living by creating sacrifices. “A truly sad story, isn’t it… my Queen.

An endless space, a Void. Leila’s consciousness was currently somewhere, where nothing else could reach her. And in front of her, the demon who called himself Unknown floated. Well… it was wrong to say that the girl was truly there. She was present, yet wasn’t. A strange state of non-existence, similar to the time where she sacrificed herself. It was as if her mind alone was in this world, but she had no physical body that she could control and use to interact with her environment. She was stuck in the complete sense of the word. Back then she was eventually revived by another miracle demon and became capable of continuing her adventure. “But is that how it really was? Yes, of course. But you see, while I did all those terrible things to you and Aurora… well, I won’t make any excuses. Just know that I want it all to end. So at least try to believe me when I say this - using that spell on you was the last thing I will ever do to you. Right now, we are in null space. And in few moments, that ability of mine will be finished. You want to know what it does, right? It will send your mind back in time. I will place it right back into the moment where you sacrificed yourself for that mutt friend of yours. My Queen, do you understand what that means? It’s a reset. A selfish desire of mine. You see, we Miracle Demons are cursed being as well. They say our power is literally limitless, but there is one thing it could never actually accomplish. I was never able to end my own existence…

A strange feeling of sadness washed over Leila’s mind as she heard those words. Deep down, she knew how it was. She herself was immortal and even using the Primordial Seal did not truly erase her completely. It only made her suffer for what seemed like an eternity to her. “I’ve grown tired of living. For thousands upon thousands of years, I have gone on. Taking souls, giving others power only for it to turn back on them… it’s an endless cycle. And eventually, it became completely empty and hollow. Now, I just want to end my own existence and finally rest. So I’ve spent the last thousand years researching a way to do so. There is this world called Dreamland, you see? Closely tied to what you call home, Earthland. Its power is vast and if I could combine my Miracle energy with it’s Dream energy, perhaps I could finally erase myself. But very specific conditions have to be fulfilled before that can happen. Right now, the King of that world plans to try and force all of Earthland to fall asleep forever. With my power, I am able to see every possible result of actions of others. And I saw it… if you were to remain on the Floating Continent, I would never have my peace. So I’m sending you back, so you can go at it again. But this time, just in time for their invasion. You will try to stop it and give me my chance at my last dream.

She was being used by the demon to fulfill his desire. But somehow, she did not mind. In the core, she always just wanted to help everyone. From the first moment on, even as she became a mage, she would go around and help people find their lost puppies or play tag with the children. She adored seeing smiles on the faces of others. And even if it was a demon that did so much harm to her, she wanted to help him reach his goal, so that he could stop feeling this suffocating darkness all around him too. “Heh, I’m not really sure why I’m telling you all of this. You will forget it all soon enough. It will be as if you woke up right after performing the seal. But worry not, I will leave few hints in your mind that will help you get your bearings again. And because it’s only you moving back in time, all that you did is not for nothing. You still made all those new friends and you will find them all again one day. Now, the spell is finally done. Good luck, my Queen. It will be a harsh journey.” And just like that, the black world became white once more. So blinding that the girl could only question herself if she still existed. With no body, just a cluster of a mind inside an endless pace. She floated on and on.

Feeling pain all over her body, she would slowly open her eyes to the dampness of an unfamiliar environment. Few seconds passed before she became able to move at least the tips of her fingers. Few more and her hands started moving. A minute or so passed and she got on all fours as she stared at the cold stone she was on, a sudden coughing fit forcing her body back onto the ground. A total of five minutes had to pass before she regained enough awareness and strength to get up onto her own two feet, stumbling to the side and harshly pressing her back against a nearby wall. Looking around, she finally recognized this place as some sort of fairly shallow cave. Looking her herself, she also noticed that the clothes she was wearing were not the same she remembered having. The fancy outfit with a top hat she always had was gone and replaced with a slightly more revealing ninja-like attire. What more, she appeared to be in her kemonomimi state. A state where her body gained an animal tail and ears, as well as much bigger fangs and few other features normally associated with animals. Something that occasionally happened when she used the golden bell, a magical item gifted to her by her spirits. She used this feature to try and calm Jiyu down when her more demonic canine form was first revealed during their fight with a mighty angel that took them to heavens in order to purify them.

Of course, she had no memories of using the item and becoming like this. But that hardly mattered, there was a massive headache plaguing her right now as she tried to walk forward. There was something on the ground right in front of where she awoke. Taking a closer look and grabbing the object, she realized it was a weapon of some sort. A mechanical blade made out of several parts. Once again, it was something she did not recall. Still, she would hold onto it, as she felt strangely compelled to. With this weapon on her back, she would finally reach the opening of the cave. Blinded by the sharp and suddenly light of the day, it took her eyes a bit to adjust. But it was well worth it, as she was finally greeted by a familiar sight, something that she could use as a point of reference. It was Rose Garden, a town she knew very well! And it was not very far either. A sudden jolt of pain ran through the girl’s head again as she suddenly realized something. The very last memory she had was of using the Primordial seal on her friend. Looking down on her hands, Leila entered a shock greater than ever before. While it was faint, her skin was covered in shining white marks. The seal was present on her! A panic quickly started spreading through her entire being as she stopped caring about her own well-being.

Focusing all her energy on her legs, she would leap out of the small cliff this cave was in and sprinted toward the Rose Garden. The fact that the seal was on her own body, did that mean her attempt to apply it to Jiyu failed? Was her friend okay? She cared for nothing until she would have that question answered. A state of blind panic consumed her completely as she bolted through the main gate to the city, completely ignoring the screams of guards behind her. People in her immediate area appeared as nothing more than faceless shadows, something that she did not care about in the least. She only ran forward, following no signs in particular. If one were to ask her later how she found her friend, she would probably just say that she followed her ‘gut’. An invisible string that was tugging her toward Jiyu’s location, one of the little clues that Unknown left with her as he mentioned. But because she did not remember that conversation anymore, it truly was nothing more than just a feeling. Not even feeling her legs anymore, she would grind her teeth and close her eyes until she just stopped. And opening those peepers again, she would finally see it. A girl with a canine tail, landing elegantly only fifty or so meters away and muttering something to herself while paying attention to something that was in the nearby trees. A behavior that she could only have if she was truly okay.

Tears would suddenly fill Leila’s eyes and uncontrollably spill out, running down her cheeks and then dripping to the ground as her legs gave out, the female’s form would fall to her knees right there on the spot as she stared at her friend. “Jiyu… it’s you, right? You’re okay… right?!” Her voice was shaking more than ever before, her mind in a clear state of distress that Jiyu had never witnessed her friend to be in before. Because right now, Leila was more confused than anything. Of course she was, she had thought that she sacrificed her very own existence in order to save this canine female. And yet, here she was. Feeling all these feelings inside of her, unable to properly contain them. People that were around would shoot confused looks at her too, for they surely did not expect to see one of the Wizard Saints appearing and falling to her knees, crying for seemingly no apparent reason. Thankfully, she did not care for those people at all. The person of her interest was right in front of her. Or at least that was what Leila hoped it, for she would be probably unable to take on the fact that what she was seeing was a mere illusion or something of the sort. She needed to make sure that Jiyu was okay right now. She just had to, or she would fall apart right there on the spot.

The female had an idea of thing's wrong but her ideal of the things that had gone wrong were far from what Leila was currently thinking. While the Eden made was frantic over if the wind user still had a seal placed on her? Jiyu herself was concerned with everything else, the fact she was exceptionally weak for a supposed goddess and far too flawed to do anything with eternity. Kazehime was fine with her power back when she believed that she was mortal, subject to fatal wounds eventually and such. However, things had changed the second Nimbus the smug asshole told her what she really was and Cirven watched over her until she was strong enough from the over use of her powers to return to Black Rose where she currently considered home. How could she keep fighting properly, move on with her life, when she could see no possible end. Everyone worked towards leaving something good behind, now she had no reason not to be bad, it was not like she couldn't go and do good right afterwards. It wasn't as if she had her own realm she could control every detail of once she learned her power's; Oh wait, yes she did.

"Leila?" the female looked over at her friend, surprised the white haired girl was here, they rarely met off jobs, due to the nature of both of them. "Uh, yeah I think so, besides for the fact I'm a fucking goddess I'm just freaking peachy. I don't know how deities deal with eternity, I'm already bored and I haven't even exceeded the normal human life span. Well I guess technically I have, since Inugami need to, you know, DIE, to be born! But yeah, otherwise I'm fine." expect for the fact she could not hit the broad side of a barn dead on while falling from the sky at an unknown speed, she was bodily and mentality fine, expect for a bit of debris in her long locks, but that was to be expected, since she had just been sky diving.

The dual eyed woman looked at Leila again after using her wind powers to pull the arrows from her target and return them to her waiting hand. "Leila? You alright, you look like you've seen ghosts or something." the wind user chimed the comment, tucking her arrows back into her quiver, hands behind her back causing her chest to stick out as she huffed out slightly, tilting her head to the side exposing her pale neck on that side as her hair fell behind her back and over the other shoulder. "Leila?!" she took a step back when the nature wielder fell to her knee's crying, hand covering her mouth. 'Let Me Out, Now!' with that the transition slide through, eyes widening as her red markings exploded across her face and Assertive bent down to match up with Leila, clawed hands reaching out.

By this rank, all the Jiyu's had grown used to making use of the wind to supplement for the strength their body lacked, almost like a second body made of wind settled over the weakened one. Thus Jiyu would move to grip the eden mage on her shoulder and press a hand right up under her chin, forcing her to look. "Did Someone Hurt You." Assertive's voice was gruff and more primal than all the others, the primal act of Leila crying having been what drew her to demand control of their body.

Anyone who was forced to their knees was probably looking rather pathetic to the onlookers that had no idea what was happening. Naturally, Jiyu would come to the conclusion that something was wrong with her friend. However, as she approached and spoke, her words seemed quite alien to the chaotic mind of Eden’s Caretaker. But there was little outside of that loud static, obscuring all of her senses and sending her down a spiral of fleeting memories of the past that tried so desperately to cling to something solid. A voice she did not even recognize spoke to her. But instead of answering, she would just grab that pale hand and pull it toward her while lunging her own body forth. Forcefully, yet as gently as she could, she hugged the other girl. And yet, it almost felt as if she was embracing someone else entirely. Perhaps because she was. A good portion of her memory was gone and their last interaction together was a fight. One where the canine’s power went out of control and she was no longer herself. And when Leila cast the primordial seal, she thought that she was sealing all but the true Jiyu she always knew. What became of her dear friend was something now lost in the veils of the limbo. For before that, she had seen it only once. In her own world, in the Gardens of Eden when facing her spirits. The other girl’s facial marks seemed to have changed few times, but back then, she did not make much of it.

And now was just like back then. For she did not remember the four faces. She did not remember assertive, nor any other one. She only knew the original, the human version she had spent so much time with. The one she was familiar with, the one she fell in love with. That was the version she remembered. The girl she found so adorable when she attempted to hide her ears and tail in fear that she would be rejected. And to that version, she cried and wanted comfort from. “I’m glad… I’m so glad. If it’s you, then I must have done it right. I was so scared when I woke up! Because the seal is on my body, I thought… I thought I messed it up and you were in danger! I thought I had lost you to the power that possessed you! Because I woke up when I was supposed to be dead… I sacrificed my own existence to save you and when I didn’t disappear, I was so afraid that I didn’t manage to save you!” Almost repeating herself over and over, she would tighten her hold on the fragile female, not wanting to let go. Her voice was sloppy and messy as tears still flowed down her cheeks and her throat contracting as if it was trying to force out a stone that had blocked passage for all of her words. But in the end, she managed to get it all out.

Somehow, that also seemed to clear her mind up. At least a little bit. The events of the past before she had sacrificed herself came flooding back and her silver tail started waggling in a happy manner. She recalled many things. And now that she was here, alive and existing with every fiber of her being, she realized something very important. “I am so sorry…” Conquering the Gardens of Eden and helping Aurora recover and join Leila was the last mission they have gone on together as far as she recalled. And before then, they raced to a certain building where a very important person resided. It was a little challenge designed by Jiyu and Leila lost rather embarrassingly. But that was not the only thing that happened. Naturally, the Caretaker was a little mad and frustrated with herself, which caused her to jump off of the other girl’s magical feather that she used for transportation. What happened afterward was important, as Jiyu leaped after her with tears in her eyes, begging Leila to never do that again. To not leave her along, for she could not bear losing another person important to her. “I am so sorry for trying to sacrifice myself for your good when that would only leave you alone. I promise that I will never, ever leave your side like that. Never again. I will always be right here for you, no matter what, okay?

Finally, she would try to pull away to take a good look at her friend. Though the tears were still making her vision rather blurry, she would smile regardless. It was rather silly, but despite all the negative things they have gone through, she never lost her faith in this young girl. What started as a random meeting in a cursed village plagued by a mass-killing murderer little girl turned into a friendship that would surely last a lifetime. In fact, it had already claimed Leila’s life once. But there was still one big question hanging in the air. One that did not belong to Leila in the least. It was the fact that she acted like this and said all of those things that would most likely challenge her friend. After all, the Eden’s witch had lost her memories and did not know there was more to it all. She did not know that she did, in fact, leave Jiyu alone for months before she was resurrected. All the tears that she had to shed. And most of all, she had no idea that there was a different personality in control right now, one that was made to absorb negativity and use it as its driving force. With no idea just how much complex has everything gotten, the poor girl only desired to return to how things were. When the two females went on jobs together and lived through both good and bad. So now it was up to her and the way she would react to it all. Something that could escalate this situation in any way possible.

Jiyu did not ever believe someone being on their knee's was any bit pathetic, not an example of weakness. Honestly? She spent a decent portion of her time as a run away there, just to make sure she survived or could obtain what she needed for survival. While the darker implications were things she let flow away from her mind? There had once been a time she would drop to her knee's crying simply so she could gain sympathy and resources from someone around her when she was younger. Than once she was older, when she developed something worth being ogled at, well she took advantage as a mortal to ensure whatever she needed was obtained. Sometimes the person on their knee's was actually the strongest most dangerous person in the room, she certainly proved that several times over her life.

Normally yanking the girls arm in the manner Leila suddenly did? Would have horrible results, the kind that were called a broken wrist or even a wound it there was anything sharp or a nail scraped her. Yet as the wind users strength grew, her magic adapted better to protecting her, growing closer and closer to a perfected exoskeleton sort of protection, meddling in her pyshical manners to buffer what other people did to a point she would not be injured, when it could. Of course, sometimes her wind could do nothing, but this time it could especially since Leila quickly started being very gentle again. Hearing the other girl go off, she realized that the eden mage still did not have a solid idea of what had taken place between them when she vanished than 'went mad' in Solace and Leila found a way to break into the realm to save her. "Leila I wasn't possessed by some abstract Power when you came to save me, I wasn't possessed at all, my own contractual power backfired when I made one with you without either of us realizing, since we didn't know you broke the contract and I refused to take the price on contractual shattering out on you, so it took it out on my own body. However, my soul isn't one piece and I had been rejecting the other three pieces existed, so when the four of us ended up face to face in Solace after the broken contract destroyed my body for this realm, they took it out on me until you arrived and restored our ability to form an actual solid body in this realm, reestablished the links between all four pieces and the balance between us." wait, did Leila just say she did not die from that? The wind user pushed carefully, making sure it was her wind doing the pushing and not her body as she moved to hold the girl a few inches back from her. "Wait, you don't remember it? You did vanish afterwards, I was alone for months, than you came back, that was nearly a year ago now at least!" how did Leila just forget all that, how did the eden mage simply suddenly forget everything between than and now. Oh fudge, that also meant that the other mage did not remember her! Assertive's eyes widened, as she quickly retreated back in so Mysterious could emerge again, the other three backing off since Mysterious was the one she had dealt with the most.

"That's good." she fell forward into the other girl, curling against her there for a few seconds. While she agreed with the statement, did not want to be alone again, briefly her eyes hazed as her mind thought of all the things about herself she had just never revealed. Could she really keep living steady like this when there was so much behind the veil she knew would upset anyone who ever discovered the truth behind her before she had ascended. "It wasn't easy, retaining balance between the four of us knowing the cost it had posed." she ran a finger over the seal, smiling lightly, she would not question things just yet. "Though it does seem over time I'll have to reintroduce you to the other three, but lets save that for another day, kay?" after this she moved to embrace the other girl once more, large fluffy black tail wagging beside her.

When in the embrace of someone that she had loved, be it as a family, friend or even more than that, it was so much easier to focus on what truly mattered. However, the Eden’s Caretaker was perhaps not quite prepared for the truth that awaited her. The horrible, horrible truth. And at the end of it, the culmination of all her feelings that drove her into a corner from which she did not see any escape other than death itself. The desire to save her friend was not the only reason why she had sacrificed herself in order to place that seal on Jiyu’s body. There was something else, throwing cards onto the playing field at the same time. And that was the darkness of Void, seeping into the girl’s heart with every breath she took. The great darkness that lied at the core of Gardens of Eden, the true nature of world-shaping magic Aurora received from the Miracle Demon who attempted to take her soul for it. The true story was of Leila and her canine friend entering the Gardens and finally putting the goddess to eternal rest. And that made Leila into the new goddess of Eden. And as such, she was required to carry that darkness within her body at all times. It started eating away at her, turning her into something she never wanted to be. So when the opportunity presented itself, she happily took it. Her life that was slowly getting more and more corrupted for the life of someone who deserved it so much more.

But did she truly? Didn’t they all have equally large right to live? If not, then she should not be around either. After all, Leila was nothing more than a byproduct of a failed spell, an experiment. She was that undesired waste that was thrown out. But here she was, a proper mage and even a Wizard Saint. Not that she knew of having this title right now, but she had it! She was recognized by the world just how she always wanted. She had friends and even family that she could share both her sadness and happiness with. At this point, could she really be called just a byproduct? She was her own person and she had the will to live, just like all other creatures. In a certain sense, she and Aurora were exactly the same as the four faces within Jiyu. Only, they did not have to share a single solid body and that allowed them to evolve, become two separate individuals over the years. It was a story all too familiar, yet it was hard to deal with. When Leila engaged with her friend, she had no idea what was really happening. All she wanted to do was to help. For what reason or against what, she did not really know. Was it wrong? Was it selfish? Perhaps. And right now, it was quickly catching up to her, as she realized so many things after hearing those words.

Your own power? Because I broke a contract…? It was all… all of that was my fault?” Before, her tears were ones of relief and happiness, just knowing that her dear friend was alright. But now, they quickly turned into tears of sadness and betrayal of her own. They did not know? What did that even matter? They were together for so long, both god-like creatures that were through so much. She should have realized something was going on! Yes, it must have been her fault. Blaming herself, her embrace on Jiyu would grow ever so slightly tighter as she fought the subconscious desire to just squeeze as hard as she possibly could right now. Her expression would twist into one of anger and disappointment in herself and the color of her eyes, once a beautiful ocean blue, now slowly turning into a toxic green. The eyes of a demon that she was, a monster of jealousy that would tear the world apart if it stood in her way. But that was not the end of it, not at all. “Eh… months… alone? A year? What are you saying, Jiyu? Now is no time for jokes… something like that is just… ridiculous… please… don’t play with me like this. Please… not now… no…” The chaos in her head would only grow in size as she was unable to process all that information so quickly. Mixed with her already rampant emotions, she was unable to find control.

She had thought wrong. At least partially anyway. The corruption was gone from her body because the connection with Gardens of Eden was severed by the seal, yes. But that did not mean she would not see that corruption ever again. She was not suddenly immune to it, nothing like that. It would still form on her if her negative emotions ran strong and rampant throughout her body. And right now, the entire right side of her body started wrinkling as her skin turned gray and black, no longer soft on the touch but rather rough and wood-like. Closing her eyes and biting her lower lip, she would gently grab her friend’s shoulders and try to pull her away. Her warmth was the only thing she wanted right now, but she couldn’t bring herself to take it as if she did not deserve it. “I… I don’t know what’s happening, Jiyu. I just woke up in a cave nearby and the last thing I remember was sealing you! Nothing after that… and you say it was as long as a year ago… please, tell me you were just joking! Please!” Standing up and taking several steps back, a dark aura would quickly start escaping her body and spreading to the nearby surroundings. It was not magic. It was just that - negativity. The girl never had this much in her and it started leaking out, taking a physical form as a black fog.

She would hold her head in her palms and stare at the ground, her pupils dilated and moving around rapidly. Panic was running through every fiber of her being as she struggled to calm down, her breathing growing fast and heavy to the point where she wasn’t even able to get enough oxygen into her lungs before she had to breathe out, starting to slowly suffocate in the open air. The world around her growing dark, she was unable to speak as if there was a stone in her throat, unable to call out for help. Was this all just a nightmare? No, perhaps this was hell itself. A punishment that was given to her because she chose to sacrifice herself. On the verge of collapse, the entire city started growing dark as the colors themselves faded and the dark fog spread throughout the entirety of Rose Garden. People, both mages, and civilians, would start collapsing to the ground as they were forcefully put to sleep. Even the powerful mages of Black Rose present in the Silver Moon Inn would find themselves quickly drifting into the grasp of Dreamland. Jiyu and Leila were ones of the very few who remained mostly unaffected. Mere moments later, pillars of black would suddenly start descending from the darkened skies, emerging from the pitch-black clouds that hid the Sun away from the view completely. Pillars of ghastly energy that would start taking on a much more solid form once they would hit the ground.

Some would appear as Wraiths, other as animals. And there was even one horror that appeared right behind Leila, something that would probably remind most people of a horseman of the Apocalypse. A terrible creature that would wake fear even in the hearts of the fearless. These were the corrupted spirits of Dreamland that fell prey to the vile schemes of the King of the sleeping world. His plan was slowly starting to move into motion, putting all who inhabited Earthland to sleep. The Horseman-like creature would lean toward Leila and smile eerily. “Finally, we have been invited to a place such as this. I thank you, Void spirit. It was your call that we answered. And now this town may sleep, just like every single one will soon enough. All that confusion in your heart, the feelings that are trying to tear you into pieces from the inside… they have tired you, did they not. You too can sleep now. We have no desire to harm anyone. We simply welcome the sleep and the everlasting Nightmare that will consume all and give our King the right to rule over all life once more.” With those words, it faded away again before it could be attacked. The other spirits would have to be defeated first, as they lurked around the town and used their powers to make all who were still standing fall asleep in front of them. Indeed, they did not wish to harm. They wished to control instead. And those who would fall asleep here, under their force, would not wake up until the King himself would be defeated.

    Enemies remaining:

    Waking Dream 2x
    High Knight 4x
    Count of Dreamland x1

Note: Waking Dream can look any way you want. All attacks from these enemies do not leave physical damage but instead, make you want to fall asleep. Once that happens, it's game over. Count appears once the rest is defeated. Whenever one of these is defeated, they just forcefully return to Dreamland and do not die.

The embrace that many called warm and essential, being held by someone who could be called a loved one? Was the sort of gift she had not gotten in a long time, even reunited sometimes with her childhood friends, their embrace could not be called that of someone who loved her! Jiyu couldn't really claim the embrace of anyone was the warmth of someone who loved her, because anyone who knew her, didn't know at least half of her, if not more. How could she ever surrender herself to the embrace of another, their warmth and love? When they didn't know who she really was, there was so much to her existence and story, Jiyu didn't see how she could accept anyone who didn't know almost all of it, didn't entirely know who they were getting involved with. Thus, she ended up sometimes rarely able to feel for other's, but unable to accept any feelings they carried for her, friendship, fondness, love, she had become very good at rejecting all of it for numerous reasons that in the end boiled down to something akin to fear.

She couldn't seem to focus sometimes on what matter around her, at least the thing's most people thought mattered in the world. The woman had a thicker barrier around her heart than most, even mages within Black Rose who could swear they were friends, that Jiyu felt legitimate fondness towards them, could very well be insanely off base. When someone acted for the duration of time she had, pretended to be someone in order to survive, they became very good at acting, however, those around them wished they would, in order to simply to get to the next day, even if the danger was no longer present. At a certain point, all the masks seemed to merge into one, and finding the truth beneath the act became difficult even for the one putting up those acts. Jiyu had clearly reached this horrible ugly point long ago, but it was easier to keep drowning under the instinctual drive to conform than it was to fight back to whoever was hiding beneath all of it. Desire was dangerous though because it was something that had been essential to her longer than the acts that drown her out, after all she had left everything she knew and loved simply because she desired revenge. If someone could manage to tap into raw desire from her enough? Couldn't it make it harder for everything false to drown out the truth beneath her fadace.

"It was no one's fault, we both were unaware it was a power I possessed until it was too late, it's why I don't promise or swear things to people anymore because if they return it then those words become binding."  and deep down part of her still disliked connections, things that gave her more factors to consider when doing something, gave her something else to lose, another way to get her heart shattered. Considering the fact she had never properly dealt with her mother's death? It was no surprise she had a deeply hidden aversion to new connections, though some of her skittishness towards letting people into her heart may have been driven by the selfish, self serving desire to keep most of it for herself. "I'm not playing, you must have hit your head sometime today." the female tried to explain it, but this was something harder to explain. "I can't tell you I was joking if I wasn'-" then the dark energy started leaking out of Leila, the solid black fog forming, and Jiyu thought she had screwed up, but quickly realized she was not the one causing it.

The fangs inside of her mouth lengthed and fur grew around her hands, nail-like claws becoming slightly more claw-like as she covered her mouth with one hand. "Leila, I need you to calm down, you're secreting too much negative energy." her friend was letting negative energy escape in front of a creature that fed off such energies, her elfin ears fading into her body as two cropped one's appeared atop of her head and her tail grew by about a foot. "I eat negative emotions, its connected to being an Inugami, so unless you want me to eat them, you need to calm down." if Leila had forgotten everything to a certain point, then she also did not know about the negative emotion devouring, as that had only been explained in a letter at most, considering she herself had only really realized it recently when she pushed her abilities so far she needed to eat in order to restore them.

As panic continued to rise within Leila the Inugami felt her control fail, tongue licking her lips from beneath her hand, the appendage falling back to a normal position shortly afterward. Considering the negativity flowed through the city itself? The quantity was too much for her to fight instinct. Sharp claws latched into the darkness around them, their white surface glinting within it, separating it so that her now paw-like hand could shove it into her mouth. Jiyu could have been strong enough to resist the dark fog clouds of negativity everywhere, if she wanted to, but it was the same as telling the canine not to eat a steak you put in front of her, wasn't going to happen. Yet she did not completely lose herself, at least she hadn't yet. I'm not sure this is your playground anymore Mysterious, it looks rather like a world merge and you barely know of our powers, plus I'm the one more adjusted to dealing with this level of negativity. it was Assertive, and as the girl glanced around, she realized the other forth of her was likely right, thus dark red lines appeared across her face. Fine, just be careful, don't get us killed painfully, I don't want to be in pain until we die again. an out loud laugh was emitted to the mental comment Mysterious had made towards her, it felt good to be in control again.

Now to the issue that her other forth had let go, sharp predatory optics looked towards Leila, a scoff emitting as she yawned her paw covering it considering her four external limbs up to the middle joints had turned into their canine forms. "Soo, memory loss, lets play a shortened catch up." the female rose, so she was looking down at the other girl, dark hair falling over her shoulder, head cocking to the side. "I'm Assertive, you can still call me Jiyu, I'm just another forth, the one you normally deal with is Mysterious, blue is Gentle and the lavender one is Happy, that's how the four of us call each other since we're all Jiyu." while she spoke of the other three faces, assertive pointed to the blood red markings on her face, to show that those were how someone told which one was in control at glance. "So, do you need a pep talk from Happy or can we get back up and deal with this? Because I don't want a king who rules everything, it kinda betrays the point of being a goddess for me if someone like that exists, and I'd rather keep playing in earthland than go rule over my realm." standing there like that, she waited for Leila's respond, blinking idly, her tail lashing from side to side.
