Job Requirements: At least one B-rank Must defeat or at least make all enemies flee.

Job Description: "Normally I wouldn't have to do this, but I was unable to pay up protection for this month to these thugs that harass all the shop owners and restaurant owners who destroy the building of one who isn't able to pay their fee. I told them I would be able to pay them at the end of the week, but business has been so low that I can't afford it. Please, scare the thugs away from this town so that I may be able to keep performing my job and hopefully become successful. If you can't scare them away, make them be afraid of you by defeating them, just do what you can. I promise I have enough money to give you your reward if you do."

    Enemies:
Very Weak - Toucan King - A large bird that can turn up when the player wants. This can be defeated in a single hit
Weak: Thugs - A group of three thugs appears each time this dice is rolled each of whom take two B rank hits to bring down though they are very vulnerable to headshots. They armed with typical thug weapons: clubs, daggers, old swords and the like.
Medium: Body guard - A single body guard wearing heavy armor and a shield. Armed with either a sword an axe or a spear. Three hits breaks the armor and a further two brings down the opponent. They can block a further B rank using their shield, but this will cause it to be destroyed.
Strong: Mercenary mage - A B rank mage. He takes a full ten hits of B rank damage to bring down. Magic choice is up to you. However, it must be offensive.
Boss: Rolling a boss dice will result in a mercenary mage and two body guards to appear.

Port cities like this one had always been a benefit to Sylvia during her time on the run, moments of brief calm and freedom out on the sea where her family could only hope to chase her. Yet instead today she was in the area of Hargeon the district of the restaurant for that matter and her friend and Guild Master had asked her to come here. It was strange to see the hustle and bustle of the area as magic items were traded in other districts and even a constant influx of port based shipping and receiving. Of course this place most likely had it's dark sides to it as she knew all too well but for now at least since her friend had sent her here it was best to trust that judgement. The Maiden arrived outside herself and followed the soft sounds of her voice today being a gift as she barely heard her talk of killing herself or others at least today. Yet it was those moments as she stalked the market places and checked out fresh fish and vegetables a constant here it seemed that her attention was caught by the appearance of the sea in the distance.

The blue waves reflected off her revealed blue eye as she smiled and let out a breath of a relief the maiden herself walking up behind her and staring down at her, "You tell me to die so often, but moments of relief and calm like this... They are what stop me from listening." she spoke soft and resolute as she continued to move around the area a soft spring to her stride. With her movement being faster than most she weaved around the area with relative ease as dived and ducked between people, the deeper areas of the markets being loaded with people. It was only when her eyes caught the mark of her family on some peoples arms that she almost panicked and had her heart jump, the sign of a black crown with twin snakes coiled around it, the crown killers a faction designed for assassination in her family. Making her way around the market being sure to avoid them she had her usual black tight fitting clothing on as she ducked into a restaurant and finally stopped feeling afraid. Inside she could tell it was not that busy in fact almost dead for the time it was as her memory sparked and the words of her guild master rang in her head, "Go to Hargeon and look for a white haired man with a tattoo on his chest you will know them when you see them." And it was here that she started to panic and realized how much time in town she had wasted looking over ingredients and in fact not looking for this person.

Finally dashing out of the restaurant she would head into the deep end of the district looking all around for them, it was about lunch time after all. As she dashed around she was careful to keep an eye out for her family's symbols before finally landing in the poorest section of the area. It was here that she heard the sounds of gasps and even whistles and cheers where she would be drawn as she would walk towards the source. Finally reaching it she would notice the source of it, a crowd of shop workers all around a single store as a man ate what looked like a mountain of food like it was nothing and just above the pile of dishes was spiky white hair and she ran over as fast she could and spoke pushing past the workers, "A-Are you the one I was sent to meet?"

The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia) Empty Re: The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia)

Post by Wolfe 6th December 2017, 12:54 pm

Wolfe was at it again, but this time he had found himself in the port town of Hargeon. He had received a letter from an unknown person saying something about this town and asking him to visit it for a few days. Wolfe figured whoever had sent the letter wanted to meet him, but he had been here two full days now and he had yet to meet anyone. He was starting to think someone had sent it to him to get him out in the open so they could watch him, but in truth he didn’t care. As an ace of a legal guild he knew he had natural enemies, but if any of them really wanted to make a move, he was more than happy to give them a chance. If anything, it would give Wolfe a good workout since the last time he had been given the chance to let loose was when he had helped Cirven, Ardere, and the others with the monster issue.

At this point we was going to give it till the end of the day and in the morning he would head back to the guild if nothing happened. However, in the meantime it was time for lunch and he intended on getting some food. So Wolfe got dressed in his normal black pants and boots, but today he decided to sport a light blue button up shirt which he didn’t bother buttoning up and made his way out of his room in the local inn. So Wolfe made his way into a less populated part of the town to a restaurant he had seen on his list of places he loved to eat on RAINE’s database. As he found the place he had to question if this was really the place he was looking for, but before he had another chance to ponder on it one of the waitresses had stepped out of the indoor area to serve someone on the patio area and saw Wolfe and instantly welcoming him back with kind words. Wolfe didn’t know too much about who he was before he lost his memory, but what he had found out implied he was no better than a monster with skin. He had no moral compass, and his sense of evil or good had been twisted to a degree. The current Wolfe at least felt that way by what he had found, but on the other hand “that” Wolfe had left a trail of people behind that seemed to like him and any place he visited that he had eaten or interacted with the people seemed to welcome him with open arms. He truly didn’t know exactly what to make of who or what he used to be.

Judging who he had been aside it was lunchtime and he had come here to get food as he was hungry, so he spoke to the kind waitress and took a seat at one of the tables. After she was done serving her other table she came over and her and Wolfe spoke for a few and he explained to her about his memory loss so she didn’t feel bad about him not remembering her. After a little talk she had taken his order and had disappeared into the main area inside to the kitchen to place his order and get Wolfe his drink. Upon getting his drink Wolfe just sat there and pondered on what to do next after lunch until nightfall.

It didn’t take long for the immense amount of food to start coming out and Wolfe wasted no time in thanking the kind waitress and started digging in. However, it didn’t take long before he was starting to gather a crowd around him. It seemed his mountain of food was starting to gather people who couldn’t believe one man could eat that much food, but this was normal for Wolfe so he didn’t think anything of it and continued to eat like nothing was wrong. Nothing HAD been wrong till suddenly a young woman about his age had managed to push past most of the group and seemed like she was in a hurry until she caught sight of Wolfe. There was a moment when their eyes met but then as she looked him over it seemed like her attention fixated on his hair and on his half exposed guild mark, as is shirt was unbuttoned so about half his guild mark was showing. Then before he could even address her she closed more of the distance between herself and Wolfe and began to speak asking him if he was the one she had been sent to meet.

Wolfe didn’t answer for a second as he thought about her actions just then and how uncertain she sounded. There was no way this woman was the one that had sent the letter he had received. The letter gave the idea that they expected Wolfe to be there and this woman seemed lost and unsure and her expression and demeanor gave the impression that she didn’t know who Wolfe was, and even more that she didn’t know who she was looking for at all. That coupled with her instant fixations on his hair and guild mark gave Wolfe the idea that maybe she had been looking for someone that had the same traits. However, the only issue being that white hair was not a super common trait and she just happen to be in this town, at this time, looking for someone with traits like him? Something about this seemed way too much to just be an accident.

Wolfe leaned forward over the last plate of food and looked her over once before he met her eyes one last time ”I know nothing about meeting anyone here. However, you seem distressed. Can I help you in some way?” Wolfe had sort of lied about not expecting to meet anyone, but he was a little wary about just throwing himself out there, he was too smart for that and this woman was also a mage. However, at the same time he truly got the impression that she was scared and just as confused as he was, and even if she was a mage, she was a low ranking mage and he didn’t feel any other mages in the immediate area.

It was the reaction that most caught her off guard as she stammered her words almost as if she were terrified but she could bring out no understandable speech. After a moment of thinking she would take a deep breath, her hair shifting with the light wind that was starting to pick up in the area causing her to look at the white haired man with new resolve, "Are you sure it is not you? I was told to come meet you or someone fitting your description! I was told you would be able to help me train!" She would flinch instinctively as she would raise a hand and black water would begin to form in her palm as black nails ripped from the ball and jabbed her palm. She flinched of course due to her magics nature, but luckily this was nothing serious, just typical backlash and so she looked at this man and was about to speak once more when the dry cough of a man rang behind her causing the crowd to scream and run.

Finally turning her attention she caught the look of the man, and it was the one from before the king slayer mark on his arms and the emblem stitched into his clothing. He wore a large bit of armor and had little to no hair, yet he had a large mustache and a mutton chops both blood red in color. The two people beside him were in full armor so their appearance could not be judged easily but their shields held the symbol too and each carried massive axes in hand not just used for show either as the sight of dried blood on the handles were obvious. The largest man leaned down towards her and looked at the owner of the shop too smiling with a wide and twisted grin, "So, not only do I get sent on a simple collection job to get our Jewels, but we find the young miss Strauss here too." he laughed as he finished speaking obvious that he was quite enjoying this situation as lightning formed in his hands, "I am sure that if I temper the voltage enough I can refrain from killing you." There it was again, that word, that emotion he was a killer it was even in the name of his group and she felt anger welling at it. The maiden formed as a pool of black water formed beneath herself and lent over top of Sylvia speaking quite clearly, "Why not take their lives? Let them suffer in the water with us for the rest of time." She flinched for a moment as she shook her head and walked back through the maiden and away from the mage, "No, I won't kill and I won't let you hurt anyone!" she wanted to run, but if she did the shop owner would get hurt too, she had no choice and she hated it.

It was her reactions that caught her as in a moment she slammed her hands into the ground of the shop and teared up as in that moment water tore through the ground. The black waters spread all over the floor and started to swirl down towards Sylvia as the shop owner, the bodyguards and even the mage thrown of kilter were dragged towards her by the ever speeding up rapids. From behind Sylvia the maiden formed and dug her fingers into her back causing her to yelp in pain but continuing the magic, trying her best to stop them. It was then that her mind turned back to the white haired man who she had been sent to meet causing her to yell out to them, "PLEASE HELP!" she was in pain, the maiden was digging into her to fuel the magic further and now she was trying to prevent the magic from harming too many innocents as it expanded to twenty five meters around herself and was only going to get larger.

The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia) Empty Re: The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia)

Post by Wolfe 8th December 2017, 2:39 am

Wolfe watched as the woman obviously was caught off guard by Wolfe’s response. Wolfe watched as she gathered herself and then began to spoke. Wolfe himself was actually caught off guard by her words. She seemed so sure he was the one she was looking for and she seemed so desperate for him to help train her, but the thing that caught him was the part where she had been sent to find him or someone fitting his description. This really stood out as something that he wanted to know more about. After the letter, this was too much of a coincidence to not be connected in some way. He was going to have to find out more about this later when he could maybe have a chance to talk to this woman in private.

Wolfe saw as she then held her hand up and began to show some form of magic. However, what he saw was not just normal magic but something a bit perverse in nature. He could sense an almost dark intent from the magic itself, and he would know because of the nature of his own magic. What didn’t make sense to him was he didn’t get a hint of that kind of darkness from this woman herself. He was pretty decent as reading people, and from what he could tell she didn’t seem to share that same kind of dark taint as the magic she wielded, which only added to his interest in her.

Wolfe started to lean forward a little as he was about to speak, but before he could get a single word out there was a coughing sound and the crowd around him and her began to scatter. Wolfe watched as the woman turned around which caused Wolfe to shift his attention past her to a man behind her. Wolfe didn’t recognize the man or his markings at all. He was accompanied by two men fully armored carrying shields in one hand and axes in the other. Wolfe didn’t move or say anything as the man spoke. However, he got the impression that this man didn’t have good intentions in mind, and by the end of his second statement Wolfe knew just what kind of man he was. Even if Wolfe didn’t know this woman, he had no intent on letting this man have his way with her.

Wolfe started to stand up but as he started to he stopped mid action as he saw a creature of dark intent seemed to crawl out of a pool of dark water that appeared out of nowhere next to the woman. An expression of confusion crept across Wolfe’s face as he watched the dark creature take the form of a maiden and seemed to crawl over the top of her. It began to speak in a sinister tone as it suggested taking the lives of the men who had obviously come for the woman. Wolfe could feel the sinister intent of the dark maiden creature, but in the same not he could feel the magical presence of it. Wolfe had a feeling this creature was the source of the woman’s magic she had just shown him moments before in the palm of her hand. Wolfe wasn’t sure what to make of it, but now wasn’t the time to worry about it.

Wolfe began to stand up again when suddenly the woman backed up right through the maiden and yelled something about not letting the men hurt anyone then suddenly bent down and slammed her hands on the ground and summoned her magic. Wolfe watched as black water spread out from her position and spread out far enough to catch everyone around her in it’s area and the water began to swirl and downwards causing a pulling motion towards her. The woman called back to Wolfe for him to help her, but he was already intended on doing just that. Wolfe then phase shifted right behind the main guy that had threated the woman and grabbed him by the neck of his armor just behind his neck and with immense force he pulled back with all his strength as he released the man. The man was yanked off his feet and thrown backwards into the wall of the building a few meters away. The man hit the wall hard enough that it cracked the wall and man had the wind knocked out of him as he let out a grunt and fell to the floor.

Wolfe watched as the man hit the wall then he turned his attention back to the two men being drawn towards the woman. He reached out with both hands and grabbed each one by the side of their heads and pulled them towards each other and slammed their heads together. The two men fell to their knees and were dizzy as they tried to keep from being pulled under from the woman’s magic. Wolfe turned back to the man he had thrown into the wall who was now started to try and get back to his feet ”So… you like and enjoy hurting people huh? Well lets see how much you enjoy this.” As Wolfe spoke black lightning began to arc across his eyes as he started to walk towards the man.

The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia) Empty Re: The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia)

Post by Diana 10th December 2017, 4:55 pm

It was the movements that were made, or lack there of that impressed her zipping almost instantly behind the main assassin and launching him with a throw into the wall behind him. It was almost too much in that moment, how did he do such quick movements? Was this like Fluffy who flew despite being a cat? Her questions had no time to be asked though as she watched the man once again move quickly slamming the two lackeys together and dazing them as the waters pulled them towards her. Soon he was walking towards the man he had lodged into a wall but almost in an instant the magic she used grew. The black whirlpool grew even larger grabbing the store owner as he too got dragged towards her as well his yelps as spectral hands grabbed his legs and soon the same hands grasped at the lackeys causing them to scream, "WHAT THE HELL?!" they were obviously panicked by this but she was taking every effort to prevent the magic from going out of control.

Shaking his head the assassin looked at the man walking towards him as panic soon took over from his composure, "Get away from me!" he yelped as lightning struck from his body hitting everywhere around himself hitting for Wolfe in the chest and striking into the whirlpool which had grown to touch even Wolfes feet causing the rip of the whirlpool which had grown in rotation speed to even be felt by him most likely. But it was not finished as soon Sylvia rose from her spot and taking a breath focused water into her hands as black water flowed from her eyes like a vicious flow of tears and created a large ball of black water above everyone. "Liquid Aria!" she would let loose her spell as it would quickly drop above everyone and explode as the black waters whipped and slashed the thugs and herself causing cuts over her arms and face while Wolfe and the Shop keeper would feel a bit nicer.

Gasping from the pain of her own spells as the maiden twisted her fingers around in Sylvia's chest she would laugh and give a thumbs up to the shop keep as blood dripped into the whirlpool that slowly started to fade. "Please... Run!" She could care less if she was captured right now, he was in danger and as the maiden faded the recovered thugs would gather themselves and walk towards her. Both gave a grin and one split to go help the assassin while the other lifted an arm to punch Sylvia causing her to flinch and use her magic again, "MAIDEN!" she would force her quivering palm forwards leading the ghostly hand of the maiden with deformed claw like nails to reach out and grab the mans face. Like a vice it would start to clamp down further and further his screams starting to ring.

Covering her ears she would begin to scream herself, "No no no no STOOOOOOOOOP!" the hand would quickly fade as all her magic quickly ended the whirlpool all but disappearing rather than fading further. While the maidens hand dropped the thug on the ground his skull cracked and his head bleeding in various places obviously out from the pain to some more trained individuals but in that moment as Sylvia watched the man fall her mind faltered and she started to cry falling to her knees as she tried to focus on her actions, "I-I killed someone? no... no no no nooooo..." with every repetition her voice grew louder and more shaky until she began to hyper ventilate, panicking as she could no longer figure out what to do mentally and fearing she had just taken a life.

The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia) Empty Re: The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia)

Post by Wolfe 12th December 2017, 2:49 pm

Wolfe saw as the man in front of him began to realize he was not strongest person involved in this ordeal. The terror of the knowledge was apparent on his face as he freaked out and screamed at Wolfe to stay away and released lightning all around him to try and fend Wolfe off. Wolfe smirked a little, which he honestly felt bad about, but of all the magic types in Fiore this guy had to have lightning versus an opponent like Wolfe. Wolfe was sure that moment of realization would be obvious in the moment when the lightning hit Wolfe. However, this guy was the one who picked a fight, and it was nature that caused Wolfe to feel the need to punish him, so he had brought this on himself.

Wolfe didn’t event flinch as the lightning hit Wolfe in the chest and instead of hurting him began to swirl and arc of him. Not only that but all the other lightning he had released seemed to change it’s direction and be drawn to Wolfe. Not all of it, but all of the lightning that did hit him began to crackle as it arced off of him then seemed to just absorb into him. Just as the lightning absorbed into his body it began to spark across his eyes and slightly arc off of his finger tips. To anyone watching it would have become obvious that lightning had no real effect on Wolfe.

Wolfe not having been slowed in his advance towards the man was now upon him and was ready to show the man the folly of his ways. Wolfe reached out to grab the man by his throat and lifted him into the air with decent ease. The terror on the man's face was obvious as Wolfe shook his head in disapproval at the man. Wolfe then acted in a blur as he pulled his other arm back and thrusted it into the man's stomach with so much force the man began to vomit on himself as he went unconscious. Wolfe let go of the man allowing him to fall to the ground in a lump. He looked down at the man trying to decided exactly what he should do with him now when his attention was diverted by the woman's cries.

Wolfe turned to see the woman crying out after she had apparently taken the life of one of the two men Wolfe had left for her to deal with. Wolfe was not exactly ok with killing people for no reason and even on the cause of combat if you were stronger than your opponent and could help you you shouldn't take a life just because you could. However, from what he could tell of the power of the woman as a mage she was a low ranking mage, and her opponents may not have been mages but they were capable. In a case like this sometimes people lost their lives, but between her cries and looking at her he could instantly tell the idea of taking another's life was something that might break this poor girl.

Wolfe instantly phase shifted next the last of the men and grabbed him by the back of his armor and tossed him back near the other unconscious man. He looked back at the man as he commanded "TAKE YOUR MAN AND LEAVE NOW! IF YOU DON'T I SWEAR I WILL RIP HIM IN HALF AND THEN YOU WILL SHARE THEIR FATE!" The force and rage in Wolfe's voice was nothing shy of almost monstrous. Wolfe then phase shifted next to to the woman as he knelt next to her and put his one arm across the front of her, about shoulder level, and pulled her a little closer to her as he used the other one to rub her back to try and calm her down a little.

The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia) Empty Re: The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia)

It was the shock honestly, the pure and torturous shock of taking a life when one swore never to that brought her so much pain. Each moment as she watched the blood drip caused her a new form of anxiety and fear. Yet it was the solace in her mission, the reason she ran, the reason she could not give in no matter how angry she got. She knew better than anyone how terrible death was, how it affected life, she had watched sister aftr sister die from the black water experiments and they fueled her wish never to kill. Yet here she knelt, the lifeless eyes of another dead and in her mind she heard every scream again from her siblings the begging, the wishes for her father to stop while mother simply looked away, out of sight out of mind.

Watching Wolfe move it was obvious now she had gotten lucky with her choice, eiher he was the one she had been sent to meet or they could help her. But it was his actions as each felt harmful in a way she could not describe, they felt like they held back each time but still but every bit of animosity in them, maybe it was her history of dealing with horrible people that let her pick up on this. Though the best she could describe it in her mind would be a dog who has been prodded but is chained, perhaps by morals or maybe other reasons? She could not tell but he held no murderous intent and that was what impressed her. Until it did not however, he screamed at the thugs threatening a life, he knelt down after doig so and tried to consol her but she tried to squirm out fear taking over, instinct yelling to run but her assailant did not back down.

It was the pain of watching a broken man rise from the ground he seemed ready to run as he bles out but rather instead he broke a lacrima in his hands. It was in that very moment that she knew what had been done and her panic rose to its highest point, "NO!" She yelled as she tried to rise and stop it, but in that split second the Maiden rose from the ground and an orb of water coated both herself and Wolfe as he was covering her. From outside the black shield a skull splittingly loud explosion was heard as the ground rumbled and the water shook violently. Soon the shield and the Maiden fell as in the area black scorch marks and the flattened remains of many shops were seen, three sets of bones were the only ones left thankfully but by that point the damage was done.

She fell to the ground again tears black as her waters flowing as the Maidens laugh rang through the air and she spoke, "A Strauss family las resort... You use your body and magic to blow yourself and every single thing around yourself to ash..." She was thankful the shop keep had gotten away but in it's place was now a broken amd scorched district. Looking to Wolfe she would give a bow of respect as she continued to cry, "I'm sorry for getting you involved, it was my mistake to look for training..." She spoke shakily, and most of all right now she felt everything was her fault, all three lives on her hands and her chest pitted and felt like agony due to these emotions.

The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia) Empty Re: The Poor Thugs (Job Wolfe/Sylvia)

Post by Wolfe 13th December 2017, 4:08 pm

Just as Wolfe had knelt down to try and hold her and rub her back to try and calm her down the woman freaked out and squirmed. It was obvious she was not just freaking out because she took a life but this was fear of a completely different level. He wasn’t sure what this woman had been through but this was something much deeper than just some thugs scaring her. He didn’t get much time to look into them, but her eyes reminded him of his own…hollow and filled with a dark pain. Wolfe obviously didn’t remember his past do losing his memory loss, which could be seen as both a blessing and a curse. However, this woman here didn’t share his cursed blessing, and something ran deep inside of her and it dug deep into the hollow.

Wolfe was about to say something but then everything happened in a flash and even for him it was a blur. Wolfe heard as the woman went to scream out then, they were both covered by a black bubble, then loud sounds and the shaking, then the bubble was gone. Wolfe turned to look at where the two men should have been only to find two charred skeletons instead. Normally Wolfe’s speed and reaction time was inhuman and something he was proud of, but his back had been turned and he had never expected this. The scorch marks instantly gave away the cause of the event as obviously the last guy he had thrown had blown himself up in an attempt to take out Wolfe and this woman with him. The bubble had obviously been this woman’s magic protecting her, Wolfe had just been lucky enough to be right next to her. The nature of her magic was becoming more and more interesting as it seemed to almost be alive, which was something he understood because of his own spark, but it’s nature was something else altogether. However, now was not the time to worry about that as he watched the woman fall to her knees again and begin crying again.

Wolfe let out a deep sigh as he processed everything trying to decide what exactly he should do next. Wolfe was about to say something when he heard a voice, the same as before, the dark maiden. Wolfe listened to it’s words as it said something about “Strauss Family” and “last resort” and more about blowing oneself up to turn things to ash. Wolfe put the obvious pieces together that this woman was as scared of these men as she had been for good reason. This was not her first run in with them, obviously the “Strauss Family” had something to do with it, maybe even being her own family, but he wasn’t a hundred percent sure right now. The rest was self-explanatory as he turned back one last time to look at the scorch marks and skeletons before turning back to look at the woman. Wolfe watched as she gave a small bow and apologized for getting Wolfe involved and that it had been a mistake for her to look for training. Slowly everything was getting a little clearer, but he needed more details and this woman needed time, and a better place to herself together.

Wolfe took a deep breath as he spoke ”I apologize if this seems a bit forward, but please trust me.” Then without even giving her a chance to really answer he reached out and scooped her into his arms and stood up. He then began to walk away from the scene and into one of the alleyways to the side of the restaurant and was taking her somewhere else. Wolfe walked in an almost blur with the woman in his arms as he scenery almost seemed to phase in and out around them. This fact might have been a little off setting to the woman, but this was common for Wolfe. This type of travel did have it’s advantages though as it would seem like only seconds to the woman, but as Wolfe slowed down and came to a normal speed, it would be obvious that they were almost clear across the town, near the harbor.

Wolfe finally came to stop in front of a small tea shop and slowly let the woman down onto her feet as he spoke ”Again I am sorry if that was a little forward, but here. Please have some tea or coffee to try and calm your nerves. I wish to speak to you more if you will allow it.” Wolfe then walked up to the door and opened it for her to allow her to enter. Once inside he would lead her to the counter and ordered a large tea and pulled out enough jewels to cover both his drink and anything she might order plus a huge tip. He turned to her ”Please order anything you desire. Food, drink, anything you might want. Do not worry about price.” Wolfe gave a slight nod, and a smile ”Wolfe, please call me Wolfe.” Wolfe hoped she would feel calm enough now to maybe be able to calm down and talk to him.

It was terror for her the reactions she held in her mind, thoughts that she knew the Maiden had been pushing for as long as she could remember. But in those split moments time slowed for her as the man she had just apologized to for her coming to him told her to simply hold on as he swooped her off her feet. She nary had any time to speak or react as in those moments he took off from the area, the black scorched zone and the remains zipping away as they almost seemed to blink. Yet it was with each flash that her eyes turned back to her holder as she realized soon that she no longer felt that same animosity from him anymore. Confusion rang through her as for all she had known when someone showed animosity and hatred it never went away, it stayed in play and showed itself like a horrid monster. Yet here stood someone who seemed to be capable of controlling it so her nerves calmed slightly as fear dulled and finally they stopped.

He set her down in front of a new portion of Hargeon the area being near the seas, the calming scent of the water at least helping a little once she caught up mentally to their new location. Soon her friend apologized to her for being forward and yet she could not quite focus as his next words were asking if she was fine with talking, "I mean..." She wanted to talk, to yell and scream and all manner of things due to her situation, her family and their actions. Yet always she held calm, she was a burden and to trouble others with her issues was wrong, she needed to save others, to prevent them from coming to harm because of herself and yet when she tried a section of town was now leveled. Quickly though she walked in as he held the door open for her making her way over to a seat and sitting as she took a deep breath and spoke, "I will take a simple earl grey tea please" her words were soft if only cause she was still trying to gather the right words.

It started with names it seems as he told her she could get anything she wanted but she only wanted some tea before he spoke his name, "Wolfe... My name is Sylviana Maria Strauss..." She stressed an almost extreme animosity in saying her last name. Looking at Wolfe it was clear he was a powerful mage, strong enough to force a trained assassin to use such a deadly last resort, but was it worth getting them involved, that was her question. As she thought on her explanation to give to Wolfe about herself the Maiden would rise from beside her again laughing with pure malice in its voice. She spoke to her as usual, "You know that he cannot save you, cannot bring you away from your fate, feed us souls..." the laugh rang in her head again as the Maiden moved around observing Wolfe almost with that same smile of hers that hung unnaturally on her face. At least Wolfe could not see her she thought in those moments before looking at Wolfe and sighing, "I suppose if you want to know the story about me..." she spoke a little more calmly this time while looking around, no one suspicious to her eyes at least.

It started with her tea and Wolfes order coming in as she took a soft sip of the hot tea to make sure it was good, "I am an adopted daughter of the Strauss family, a guinea pig in other words..." sitting back a bit she would lift clothing from her stomach showing scar after scar lining the area as she sighed, "Horrible huh?" She felt terrible showing someone this but it had to be done as she set her clothing back in place and the Maiden chuckled, "This one can see me it seems." suddenly her eyes slammed towards Wolfe and surprise was no hidden thing plastered all over her before taking a breath, "No, no not possible..." she whispered lightly and the Maiden laughed again, "He can, and more of the Family are coming, a sibling is with them, TAKE THEIR LIVES!" This news gave her a start as she looked at Wolfe and tears began to flow from her panic and she hyper ventilated, "No no no no, not again..."

After he paid for their drinks and whatever else they might order Wolfe turned and walked over to the table that the woman had sat down at and turned to look at her as she ordered a tea. Wolfe didn’t say a word as he waited for this woman to calm down and talk. It was not that Wolfe didn’t want to offer any information about himself, but it was obvious that this woman had a story and it he was going to help her he needed to know as much information as he could get from her, as quickly as he could. He had a very strong feeling that those men were not going to be the very last they ran into that day.

She started by finally offering her name as Sylvia Maria Strauss which meant his earlier guess was right about her being a Strauss. As she spoke her name he could almost feel the resentment in her voice and on spread across her face. Obviously this had a story behind it, but he figured she wasn’t going to spill it here and now, and in reality he didn’t need to know it right now to help her in the immediate future. It was at this very moment that he felt a wave of magical power surge from her as the dark maiden from before rose up from beside her and began to laugh before it spoke. Wolfe’s eyes shifted to it for a second before returning back to focus on Sylvia. As Wolfe listened he was starting to get an idea of what was going on here. He assumed this woman’s magic was imbued with darkness and it manifested as this maiden. However, Wolfe would address this later as he waited for her to continue.

Sylvia started with a comment about Wolfe wanting to know more about her story which Wolfe nodded to let her know that he indeed interesting in knowing more as he leaned back. When their orders showed up Wolfe took his tea and took a sip as he waited for her to begin. She started explaining that she was adopted into the Strauss family and that she was some kind of magical guinea pig. Wolfe was a little taken back by her scars, but at the same time it felt perfectly normal which was weird. He couldn’t shake the feeling like he knew the idea, or that it was such common place that it didn’t faze him in any way. Even though it was such a strong feeling he shrugged it off and focused on Sylvia as the maiden spoke.

Wolfe’s suspicions were confirmed when the maiden spoke about Wolfe being able to see her. The maiden was a conscious living darkness within her magic that was self-aware, and it seemed was also aware that Wolfe could see her as well. However, It seemed that up to this point either Sylvia hadn’t run into someone with enough power to see the maiden yet, or she had and it had ended poorly based on her response. Sylvia was trying to obviously deny the idea as it was easy to see it plastered all over her face but the maiden continued to speak. It confirmed once again that Wolfe could see her and furthermore more people were coming for Sylvia. The maiden desired death and from everything he could tell by her reactions Sylvia didn’t want to hurt a soul. This was such an odd matchup and Wolfe felt truly sorry for Sylvia to carry such and obvious burden.

Wolfe turned to the maiden as he spoke ”Yes, yes I can see you. Now hush because I am not talking to you right now.” Wolfe then leaned forward and reached out his hand to touch Sylvia’s shoulder on the other side that the maiden was not on to try and rub her arm and calm her down a little Sylvia, listen to me. Its ok. Please just calm down and take slow deep breathes.  Magic takes many forms in this world, yours is just one of them. I know it must be a burden as I get the impression that you are not one who desires t harm others while the darkness of your magic here desires just that. You had mentioned looking for training before. I am not sure if I can offer you the training you need to control her…. That might very well require you to one day face a hard truth. I don’t know…. But I can train you better in the ways of combat so that you would need to rely a little less on her and protect yourself better overall. It might even help you control her a little better for now.” Wolfe leaned back in his chair to give her a moment to take in what he said and had offered. Wolfe then continued ”However, I get the impression she isn’t wrong, and I was afraid they wouldn’t stop at those 3 idiots. But don’t worry about that for right this moment. Take a few to calm down and drink your tea so you have a clear mind when they get here. We will cross that bridge when it gets here. There is one question I do want to know though. Who sent you here to find me?  Earlier you said you came here because you were sent to find me and something about me training you. Please tell me more.” Wolfe had not forgotten about what she had said earlier, and he wanted to know who orchestrated this.
