    Ixchel & Tlatocan

Post by Ixchel on 26th August 2017, 5:19 pm

    Name: Ixchel & Tlatocan

Gender: Female / Slight hints of a masculine personality

    Age: 19 / 3

Birthday: 05/20 , 8 Atl(Water) 1 Ehecatl (Wind) by the Aztec Calendar. Applies to both Ixchel and Tlatocan

    Sexuality: Straight / Asexual

Special Characteristics: Ixchel is clearly not native to Fiore. Everything from the mocha hue of her skin, to the feathered headdress and attire crafted from the pelts of jungle predators, speaks of a traveler from a foreign land. Both pretty and athletic with naturally obsidian tresses, Ixchel would doubtlessly turn the heads of many young men were if not for the diverting effect of her constant companion. Even Ixchel's height - a rarity among women is totally overshadowed by Tlatocan. Tlatocan itself is golem constructed from the stone of a great sacred calendar disc mixed with material shaved from the sacrificial altar of the supreme ziggurat. Hulking and silent it bears a deep connection to Ixchel. Both guardian and executioner, the pairs existence is entwined inseparably. A superior mage would even postulate the two are fundamentally the same entity.

Personality: Ixchel is an outgoing young woman prone to looking on the bright side of life. Though as a member of a threatened people she has lost both family and friends to otherworldly forces, she retains an optimistic outlook to life. Her energetic manner and constant inquisitive nature are possibly a consequence of this, one cannot bemoan their position in life if they are distracted by the wonders around them. Then again it is just as possible that Ixchel is simply infused with such energy and that doing nothing would drive her slowly but surely insane.

These occupying activities need not be purely physical - brainteasers, wordplay and art all share a special place in Ixchel's heart. Though Ixchel would like to have more contact with those her own age the priests of her city have since an early age kept her separate from other youngsters so that she might better focus on her training for her role as sacrifice. Trips into the rain forest were permitted as these excursions were deemed beneficial to her spiritual growth. So Ixchel has learned to interact easily with all manner of creatures both predator and prey.

Tlatocan is developing something akin to a proto-personality. Designed to carry out a important task and infused with powerful magic the automaton should by rights feel nothing. Such volatile energy has a habit of imbuing whatever it touches with sentience and things that could be construed as the precursors to feeling and desired flow through the golem's mystic programming.

Ixchel doesn't exactly relish battle and violence but she does accept it as both a necessary and frequent part of life. Ixchel doesn't fear the possibility of death itself as much as the idea of a wasted one. She is after all a sacrifice to the gods and if he life was drained away on some flippant errand or whim she will fail both her people and herself. With this knowledge at the forefront of her mind Ixchel fights like a wildcat, wildly swinging her macuahuitl sword in the fray or using her blowpipe to send lethal poisoned darts flying across the field of battle. While capable of utilizing stealth and setting up deadly ambushes Ixchel isn't exactly a genius while in the midst of combat. Though she will cast spells that suit the occasion she is no tactician or trained military prodigy.

Tlatocan on the other hand fears nothing. Crafted of stone and weighing more than ten men Tlatocan simply does. Unfortunately in the wider world of guilds magic tends to be both more common and devastating than the remote jungle kingdoms. So whether or not Tlatocan will have to learn some degree of subtlety or be subject to an unpleasant mutilation at the hands of an enemy mage is something to be seen.

Then again perhaps there is more to Tlatocan than meets the eye. This stone vessel was shaped by the hopes and dreams of a people and imbued with the greatest magics that they could summon forth. Who knows what such a construct might be capable of given time and significant adversity?

    Likes:

Art - Ixchel is quite the aspiring young artist. She has begun work on her own codex of creatures, meticulously painted on cloth. Though the style she is most proficient at is the somewhat abstract one of her homeland Ixchel is interested in learning about both the classical and contemporary works of Fiore.

Gambling - Growing up in the temple precinct an outsider might think that Ixchel would be spared from the temptation inherent in games of chance. Not so  - for the priests of Tezcatlipoca and priestesses of  Xochiquetzal adore gambling. Ixchel took to the practice as well often betting any spare cacao beans on games of tiles or ollamaliztli. Ixchel hasn't quite gotten as adept with the cards and dice used in Fiore as of yet but she's learning fast.

Animals - Ixchel loves animals of all sorts. Either playing with them or simply observing them. She has a particular fascination for dragons - having seen but never gotten close to one of the Coatl dragons that inhabit her homeland. Ixchel is also intrigued by the Exceed that live in Fiore, possibly a degree that is more than healthy.

Aliens - Ixchel knows that there is more to the world than humans, animals , spirits and gods. There exists another kind of life living beyond the stars! Ixchel is sure that extraterrestrials have visited the planet and have been controlling events from behind the scenes. This is most visible when Ixchel gets drunk as she becomes quite the conspiracy theorist making all sorts of dubious connections between terrestrial power structures and the 'Greys', 'Reptoids' 'Mothmen' and the mysterious 'mages in black'.

    Dislikes:

Cold Temperatures: While Ixchel has come to love many things about Fiore the often less than tropical temperatures are not among them. Upon coming to learn of this new thing called winter Ixchel has decided that it's frigid temperatures well outweigh the delights of it's serene beauty.

Restrictive Clothing: Were it possible to avoid a public scene Ixchel would gladly walk around entirely nude. Ixchel hates the restrictive nature of formal clothing and despises what she has learned of the fashion industry in Fiore. Ixchel is perfectly happy with her feather headdress and some plain but serviceable coverings.

Cheats: Anyone who is a fervent gambler has strong feelings about cheats. Ixchel is no exception anyone found gambling at her table receives at least a healthy dose of scorn.

    Motivations:

The desire to become a hero : It was decreed by the oracles of her people that Ixchel has the capacity to become a great hero. In a strange twist of fate Ixchel will have to sacrifice her life many times after proving herself worthy to save her people from an infernal fate.

Have fun : Ixchel knows that she doesn't have a huge amount of time to live and thus has dedicated herself to enjoying life in it's entirety.

Learn more about Fiore: The European nature of Fiore is so different to Ixchel's homeland that the a young woman travelling there can't help but be enamored with the exotic customs, locales and delicacies.

    Fears:

Demons : Ixchel knows that beyond this world dwells forces both powerful and malign. Collectively these entities have ruined her peoples empire making it a tiny shell of what it once was. Though her quest is to stop them Ixchel retains a healthy amount of fear for such beings.

Sickness : Compared to Ixchels homeland Fiore is a paradise as far as diseases go. While people may get sick and even die nothing in Fiore can quite compare to the insidious maladies that spawn in the festering jungle heat. Having caught and barely survived some of these diseases earlier in life Ixchel has a paranoid fear about approaching the sick for fear of contamination.

Failure : While Ixchel does fear death it is death coupled with failure that terrifies her most. Ixchel knows that she will be forced to sacrifice her life to prevent the demons from coming to finish off her people , and should she spend it friviously before that time her civilization is doomed.

    General Appearance

    Ixchel

    Height: 5,11

    Weight: 70kgs

Hair: Worn long and straight Ixchels hair is midnight black and possesses a luxurious sheen that many models would kill for.

Eyes: Like her hair Ixchels eyes are dark and possess a lustre that many a young man would find highly appealing.

Skin Tone: A rich mocha - the colour of finely brewed coffee.

Appearance: Tall and athletic but with a feminine figure Ixchel could be considered something of a beauty. Forgoing almost all cosmetics the young sorceress dresses in a rather spartan manner with her only item of vanity being her feather headdress. The rest of her outfit is comprised of a maguey fibre loincloth and chest wrap. Some furs are added to this if the climate does get to the stage where extra clothing is required.

Ixchel - Daughter of the Smoking mirror (Caine's descent)

    Height: 6,11

    Weight: 140kgs

Hair: Long, white and braided with tiny jade skulls. Two obsidian horns protrude from the top of her head occasionally seeping molten volcanic glass into Ixchels long locks.

Eyes: Pure black like two obsidian discs.

Skin Tone: Black and chitinous resembling the outer carapace of an insect.

Appearance: The hostile brothers is a universal archetype. While Ixchels' people have no conception of Cain and Abel they do have a similar analogy in the brothers Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl. This tale of vengeance goes one step further however with the brothers murdering each other MULTIPLE TIMES.  Tezcatlipoca is a divinity presiding over both black magic and war and since his blood flows through Ixchel's veins. When aroused this blood has Ixchel shift into a war form reminiscent of a great humanoid insect with a wing case resembling a polished black mirror. Functionally this is the same as the powers granted to the descendants of Cain from Fiore.

    Tlatocan

    Height: 9,00

    Weight: 1 metric tonne

Hair:  NA - Though Tlatocan does have a stone crest built to resemble the feather headdresses of nobles and priests.

Eyes:  Orbs of literal gold inset into a stone face.

Skin Tone: Grey and worn stone. Tlatocan's skin is covered in pictographs both ceremonial and practical in nature. While of little significance to an outside a learned sorcerer of Ixchels people could read much cosmological and numerical significance into what is etched on Tlatocans outer layers.

Appearance:  Tlatocan is a large stone golem assembled from material gathered in the most sacred of jungle sites. Built in the image of the ancient gods Tlatocan is an oddity in Fiore to say the least. Though humanoid in appearance Tlatocan is awash with decorations and one could easily spend hours scouring the various details worked into his constriction. For some reason Tlatocan has taken to draping a loincloth across his lower end even though he lacks any  form of genitalia which could provoke a need for modesty.

Hi there, Ixchel! The character sounds very nice and is almost ready to go, I would just like you to change Guild from "None as of yet." to "Guildless". In the same manner, please provide a position where your guild tattoo would be and it's color right below.

Also remember that unless the golem will be summoned through your magic, the two characters will share same HP and MP bar~

Hi Leila, thanks for the compliment. Things have been changed and sharing hp and mp between them works out great lore wise. They share a deep enough link that they essentially feel each others pain and would die simultaneously if the other one was too grievously wounded.
