    Quick Extermination. Oras and Evyn.

Post by Oras Auro on 23rd August 2017, 7:33 pm

Oras had heard the rumors as well as everyone else.  How could he not?  Monsters beginning to spread from fat monster land...  Stupid name in his opinion, made most likely by stupid and unimaginative people.  It almost pained him to look at the map long enough to read the different names and places.  Oras sighed as he continued to walked over the border.  Normally he wouldn't care.  It was the jobs of soldiers and legal wizards to keep the beasts contained.  The only reason he was taking this assignment was not only because the reward was good, and he hoped to use it for gathering more knowledge fragments.  But the job was sent out by the magic council themselves.  Oras never cared about them, or government, or politics.  But the fact of the matter was you didn't ignore those in charge when they panicked.  Because once they panic and someone disobeys, they freak out, attempting to make an example to show that they have 'control'.

Control of course, was just another form of illusion.  The tighter you grip something, the more it slips through your hands.  The more you let an individual have control over themselves, the more chaos will ensue.  People liked to believe that there was a middle ground.  Somewhere that has restrictions, but not so much where people felt oppressed.  There was no such thing.  Everyone rebels.  Everyone wants more.  Everyone has their own personal needs or goals that they insist on being fulfilled, even if it means breaking the law to do so.  That's why there were dark guilds out there in the first place.  Still, nobody would be listening to reason anytime soon.  Or ever he was guessing.  Everyone liked to believe that they were right and anyone who told them otherwise was living a fantasy life that would one day, be inevitably shattered as all lies and illusions did.

Oras adjusted the wrappings on his arms as he continued to walk further into the landscape.  He drew his two daggers, ready for anything that he might encounter.  He liked to be prepared and he did his research on what monsters were leaving.  Cyclops's, two headed snakes, and chimera's.  The monsters along the outer border were no doubt being taken care of by other wizards who were eager to take on the assignment.  Oras was going to handle those who sought to continue the endevour.  Cyclops's had a single eye and were most likely going to be sluggish with their heavy bodies, making them the least dangerous.  Two headed snakes would be more interesting, as snakes in general were very fast, especially when striking.  And two heads would increase it's chance of spotting him.  Chimera's would no doubt be the most difficult of these monsters, with the many aspects it carried on itself.  He knew that there was rumors of a fourth monster somewhere that was supposedly strongest of these four, but the details were not handed out.

Oras didn't like it when he lacked information.  He very much disliked it.

Ruvel had been travelling for a while, unlike before this was more a personal errand than anything else he wanted to get use to the area so was wearing his day to day clothing. A traditional fan patterned hood like top that was pale blue and white, white sleeveless Haori with golden embroidery with the symbol for cursed in it, he was wearing normal boots however and for the moment his hood was pulled up protecting him from the breeze. It was during the seemingly aimless wandering he had heard of troubles coming from a place call Fat Monster Island, to him the name kinda seemed not only childish since it seemed like something a three year old may come up with but he would be angry too if he was being called fat. 'Who names these places, seriously?' he asked himself shaking his head with a sigh 'I not think mean fat, I think mean big' Laurea said he smiled hearing the sleepy dream fairy 'Then perhaps big monster island should be the name hm big sister' he sent back to her he knew she would be nodding, but then to someone the size of Laurea everything would be big or fat.

'You remember who the magic council is right kid?' Barthenz sent back to him seeing if he remembered some of the basic stuff that Cirven and Julius had taught him. Ruvel huffed a little hearing the question, it wasn't like it was the best time for a pop quiz, but knew he best answer. 'The magic council are the governing body over magic, they decide on what is and is not deemed legal and when they request help it has to be serious and you shouldn't say no' he sent back almost as if he was reading it from a book, which was ironic given he was illiterate. 'You need to loosen up when talking about things kid, seriously.' he sent back with a sigh 'Oh leave the poor boy alone Barthenz, you aren't going to change why should you expect him to?' Crystal chimed in he knew these two where going to get into an argument like they always did given the differences of opinion and he was going to end up with another headache 'Could you two meet and have this argument, I don't need the headache right at this moment... seriously' he sent making them both quiet down 'We heard there is an issue with beings on the island moving out of their allowed area, and the magic council seeking help with containing the issue, so lets get it sorted and go home I should rest up soon' he sent to them knowing they would agree he had been away from the guild for to long.

It was then he paused seeing someone that he recognised 'Is that... It can't be...' he thought to himself seeing the cloaked and masked figure he had seen before in beanstalk village 'of all the people, in all the places of Earthland I had to bump into the one I done a job with wearing my mask' he couldn't help but let out a frustrated sigh. "Alisha, I have a problem... remember the illusionist from the Beanstalk village job I done a while back." he sent to her "Yes, what about him?" she seemed puzzled about the sudden communication "He's here, I thought I would do some of the clearing out work for the magic council since I was near the island when I heard the worry." he sent back "Ah, yeah that is a problem; pretend you haven't met him before" she said contently making the youth blink, it made sense but still he was frustrated over the situation "Information, if we have any of course" he sent back to her "Seems like the monsters on the island have banded together to take more land, by what our sources have found out there are cyclops, two headed snakes, chimera and the leader that's rumoured to be a griffin" she sent back to him as she read over the report in front of her.

He knew his guild had ways of gaining information others didn't and he wasn't about to rock the boat and ask how they managed to get this information "Thanks Alisha, I'll be back after I've dealt with this." he sent back as he started to walk towards the cloaked figure once more "I'll let Cirven and Julius know then. Take care of yourself Ruvel, that place is dangerous even for seasoned mages and warriors." her voice seemed concerned she didn't know any information on the youth only that one of the store rooms had been converted to be a bedroom for him by Cirven so that he could be kept an eye on and that he was the only one that had been given that special privilege everyone else had houses or quarters elsewhere in the nearby town. Stopping near by he tilted his head, his hand going to his chest as he leaned forward slightly "Need any help, this seems like a task best fitted to more than one mage" having analysed the other before he had no reason to do it a second time, but this time he had the upper hand as the other didn't know that this was the same person he had met before, even his posture was different.

Oras had his plan.  He would head over to the most populated area with monsters and handle them accordingly.  He would first need to scout ahead and see what monsters were in the area so he would know how to handle them.  Afterwards he would take them on and he had a strategy for each monster type.  Cyclops were huge and slow.  Their advantage was their thick skin and strong attacks.  However Oras' agility and speed would easily balance the equation, especially since he could summon up to three illusions that could fight alongside him and deal damage accordingly.  That one eye wouldn't be able to keep up with him.  Two headed snakes would be more interesting to fight.  They were more agile being snakes, and two heads would mean they could track his movements easier.  It may be a challenge which Oras would enjoy for once.  Chimera was what he was most difficult with.  From what he's heard these creatures are strong and agile.  He wondered if it held intelligence as well.  The griffin was supposedly the most strongest, yet Itzal again wondered how high it's intelligence was.

He wasn't done processing when he heard footsteps of someone approaching.  Oras turned around and saw a man with an interesting style choice of clothes.  The man asked Oras if he needed any help and that the task seemed like it would require more than one mage.  Oras was originally planning to do this by himself.  Other's he felt would get in his way, especially if he didn't trust them at all.  Not only that but he didn't wish for others to know what his magic was.  Then again if the stronger monsters were indeed here then it might be beneficial to have another fighter along with him.  He only wondered what magic this wizard used...  Yet something was off.  The voice seemed familiar to him somehow, and that had never happened to Oras before.  At least, besides his mentor that is.

"I won't stop you from fighting the monsters if that's what you inquire.  Your voice sounds familiar though...  Have we met from somewhere before?"  To say that it frustrated Oras that this voice felt somewhat familiar to him and that he couldn't pin it somewhere was frustrating him, was rather accurate.  He was a man who liked knowing what was going on, who everyone was, and what their skills were, in case the worst case scenario were to occur.  Know the battlefield.  Know the terrain.  And you can control it.  Know your enemies, and potential enemies.  And they can't surprise you.  Know your allies.  Know your friends.  And you know how they can help you.  Know your own skills, strengths, and weaknesses, and you can make choices that will benefit you better.  Well until he learned more about this wizard, he didn't like the idea of revealing his magic to the man.  Not until he revealed it first that is.

Which brought him to this new dilemma.  This wizard had appeared in monster land (Oras refused to even think about the full name as it sounded as if a six year old named it) probably seeking the same job.  Oras had chosen a more isolated spot so that he could go about this mission by himself and not worry about others.  However it seemed that this would not be the case.  Which meant he would need to lead the conversation towards the mage's magic somehow.  He refused to fight along side him without knowing who he was fighting alongside with.  Only an idiot would do that.  Most people would argue that there were many who chose that route.  Oras would shut them up by just staring at them, causing them to realize that it had no effect on Oras' belief, but rather effected their own.  Oras had a tendency to do that.  He took the time to think about details and learn what others would not.  When he ended up being right, even if they refused to admit it, they would always hate him afterwards.

Such was the way of the world he knew.  Nobody wanted to be wrong.  And yet, what was truth?  Without a single God to create, set, and maintain rules and order, humans could make up whatever truth they wanted.  One might argue that the laws of the universe are absolute of course.  That time, gravity.  These were natural laws that couldn't be broken.  Oras begged to differ.  Just like how languages that humans create have many exceptions, so do the natural laws such as gravity, time and space.  Nothing was set in stone, not now not ever.  Not even the natural laws of the universe.  Oras wouldn't be surprised if someone created a magic that could shatter, tear up, warp, and recreate the natural laws themselves, albeit temporarily.  It was certainly close to his mentor's magic, though at the same time very very different.

You could often learn much about an individual by knowing what they believed to be true.  So what did this man believe was truth?  What could he possibly find hope and meaning in?  That was yet to be seen, if it would be revealed at all.  Another question Oras had was how this man would react to the revelation that truth was life's greatest illusion.  Would he deny it like so many others who frantically sought reason and meaning in this chaotic life of theirs?  Would he insist that Oras was wrong rather than considering the idea?  Would he walk away thinking him a fool or would he talk more with Oras?  Would he be angry, shocked, or accepting?  There were nearly an infinite amount of ways a human could react, and it all was based on their history, personality, experience, friends and allies, enemies, and many other sources yet to be noted.

Ruvel blinked almost in confusion his mask disguised his voice perfectly it was common practice for all members of black sails so they could move around freely without their masks, as if they didn't have such safety precautions in place then they would be easily found out by people they encountered one way or another and that was something they didn't want. "My voice seems familiar to you?" he sounded as confused as he looked, but then he heard the question and he felt his stomach tangle a little. He couldn't lie, he was afraid to do so thanks to his upbringing but then he thought of a way to answer without lying and scratched the side of his head "It's very possible sir, I work for West Fiore's Trading Company; I travel all around the land." he said not a hint of a lie detected because he did indeed work for the WFTC and he did travel all over the place due to it, in fact it was because he was on his way home that they had bumped into each other the last time but for reasons unknown even to the youth he felt like he needed to wear his mask; for right now however he wasn't to sure if he should be glad he had been or not given just how complicated this situation could become thanks to it.

He brought up his left arm facing the hand towards the cloaked man, the left traditional fan patterned sleeve of his clothing falling down revealing an ocean blue with an ice blue west fiore trading company symbol on his wrist. He done this was so the other knew that he was telling the truth on where his loyalty lay at least he wasn't lying because of the duality of his guild. "Oh, forgive my manners. My name is Ruvel." he finally said realising he hadn't introduced himself his tone seemed calm and warm as he spoke again his hand went to his chest as he moved the top part of his body forward, it was clear he was formal when doing things. "May I enquire as to what you want me to call you? I am guessing that since you're wearing a mask your real name is out of the question." He remembered that the other had introduced himself as 'Verus' before but to keep up appearances he had to pretend he didn't have such information and done so well, for once where he was raised gave him the edge thanks to having to constantly wear masks. It made him wonder if the other wore a mask for a reason and what that reason or reasons could possibly be, but that was an investigation for a later date.

"Just out of curiosity, do you believe this island was named by a toddler or is it just me... because seriously 'fat' monster island" he was a little more chatty than he had been on the job in which they truly met but he was curious if it was just him who thought that the islands name was stupid. "Oh! I know we just met but..." he moved into his pocket and held out a small card that the vice president of the company known as Julius Seas had given to him to hand out to people he might find in the passing "My company is holding a halloween party, perhaps you would like to come since it's open to everyone. In fact, this is the first one I have actually given out to anyone..." he said a nervous smile on his face, it wasn't that he was lying about it because he wasn't it's just that he was shy about it but also ashamed that he hadn't given anyone else one yet and he'd been traveling since the announcement and the invitations given to people. His eyes eventually moved to the right as he heard something coming right towards them from the east "chimeras I'm guessing..." he said with a sigh allowing the other to take it before pulling out what looked like an ornate sacrificial dagger before cutting it over his hand instantly a glowing liquid coming from the cut holding out his hand allowing the liquid to pool in his hand "I summon blood, I summon hate, I summon war and anger..." he started moving his hand forward allowing his glowing liquid to fall on the ground "Warrior of death hear my call! Barthernz appear!" he called out for a second the light in the immediate area flicker making a dark carmine red seal appearing close by would be sat one meter in front of Ruvel, within it would stand a muscular male standing 7'4" tall, scars easily seen over his well formed body showing he was indeed a warrior to be taken seriously, the only clothing he was wearing would be a wrap around his waist which was clearly covered in dried blood of differing stages in his hand would be his normal long sword, his semi long hair caked in dried blood making it impossible to know just what colour it truly was, his crimson eyes fixated on his targets a grin on his face.

'Go, take care of them' he sent to Barthenz who didn't wait for the invitation to be repeated, dashing forward his sword broke into two pieces the grin getting wider as he engaged in combat with two chimera as if they where nothing more than wasting his time. "Is this the best you have?" he roared blocking one of their claws with a weapon moving it back making it slap the other in the beak making it screech. Ruvel just sat down watching knowing better than to get involved when Barthenz was having 'fun' "So... Are you in a guild?" he asked his hand stinging a little but showed no signs of it bothering him as his hand facing up, it was clear by the scars on his right hand that he had done this often so it didn't bother him. Ruvel also knew the the other was an illusionist and that some illusion was made through the light it was the reason he could find the others illusion when they first met, so had the suspicion that he would be able to pick up on the aura of light around the youth but was unsure if he would just put it down to his natural aura which it was slowly over taking thanks to always having it up or for what its true purpose was for but for now that was trouble for another time as he watched Barthenz slice through the throats of the chimera "Such a waste of life, don't you think" he sounded saddened by what he had just seen but seemed somewhat stoic when it came to facial expression.

Re: Quick Extermination. Oras and Evyn.

Post by Oras Auro on 2nd October 2017, 1:02 pm

When the man reacted he showed, and spoke out of confusion.  And Oras could tell the confusion was genuine.  Perhaps he was just hearing things, but something in his voice seemed...  Familiar.  Was it something in the way it sounded to him?  Was it the way he spoke in general?  He couldn't put his finger on it but it was similar to be certain.  At any rate it seemed the individual was as clueless as Oras was and that didn't help.  There could be multiple reasons for this.  Either he truly hadn't met Oras before and for some reason his voice sounded similar, which could be because he moved past him in a city once and while he doesn't pay too much attention to citizens, he does keep a keen ear out.  Or perhaps they had met before or spoken, yet it was extremely brief with no point of paying too much attention.  Such as getting directions or being spoken to when he entered an inn looking for a single room to stay for the night.  And then the wizard continued to speak, mentioning how he worked for a trading company.  Of course he had to work for a business.  Just his luck he thought.

"Perhaps..."  He said, still unsure if it was that.  He was beginning to reach the conclusion that he would never be able to identify who this man was in his memory banks by voice alone.  If he did indeed know this person then he would need to do something else that stood out to Oras in order for him to remember him.  If even then.  This was why Oras tried to keep tabs on people and memorize them to the best of his ability.  You never know when you'll run into someone again.  However he knew nothing about this trading company, let alone it's workers.  Did he truly run into this person in the past somewhere?  He was growing more uncertain daily.  "I have never heard of your company until now," he stated simply.  It was a fact and thus there was no need to color it in any way.  Facts should be stated as they were.  Of course if they had an alias, or other names that he didn't know about it was also possible that he was wrong and did hear about him.  Yet another form of proof that nothing is true.  What was curious to Oras was the fact that this man was clearly sent to the island to fight monsters, else he wouldn't be here at all.  No one lived here.  Which made Oras wonder why a wizard would work for a trading company in the first place.  Perhaps he wasn't a normal employee, but rather form of strength for the company.  If they needed something done or removed they used him.

This theory was the least likely of course, especially with the way the man was acting.  When the wizard moved his arm, the clothing of his sleeve moved and revealed his wrist.  On which was a symbol, most likely of his company that he had no knowledge of.  The colors on it were blue and light blue.  Cool colors.  Blue was known to those who studied as a calming color.  Many didn't think that a person's favorite color said anything about their personality but it was quite the other way around.  Colors said much about an individual.  However he caught something that was essentially a major red flag to Oras.  It wasn't the symbol, color, or his clothing.  It was his skin.  From what Oras' sharp eyes could tell, there wasn't a single flaw on it.  No freckles, no blemishes, no bruises cuts.  No birthmark, no dirt.  Nothing.  It was the image of perfection.  And perfection was one of the many things on this earth Oras Auro knew for absolute certain did not exist.  This man either uses magic to make his skin this way, or makes it appear that way.  He'd prefer to have more evidence or clues as to what or how of course.  He would not jump to conclusions yet.

The man then asked Oras what he wanted to be called, and Oras was glad that the man wasn't a pinhead like many he encountered were.  He was able to take social cues at least, seeing a man cloaked head to toe would normally mean that one wished for solitude and privacy.  Many however didn't seem to get even that, so he ended up having to discourage them.  Other's when entering a conversation with him, couldn't handle his machine like responses, sending back facts that ultimately tore their argument, complaints, point, etc. down from the very core.  Oras never wasted time breaking the news to others that they were wrong brick by brick.  If he could tear the core of their false belief out that would be where he'd start.  Only small seeds and weeds would be left after that.
    "Verus."  he told Ruvel.

Then Ruvel asked him for his opinion on the name of the island and it seemed that they both had a similar thought on the subject.  It made Oras wonder and question who was the one who named these places.  He doubted it was the magic council, though he personally believed them foolish anyways.  Whoever named it however, as well as half the other landmarks in Fiore, was a thick headed idiot with imagination and originality as large as a chia seed.
"Whoever named these places was a complete moron," he agreed out loud, clearly not caring about sharing his thoughts on the subject.

The man then exclaimed suddenly, mentioning how they had only just met.  Oras nearly sighed hearing this, as it sounded like a salesman tactic of sorts.  The man then held out a card for Oras to take.  He hesitated, his visor and eyes staring at the man's own, before taking it and looking at it.  When he took the invitation, he made sure to touch Ruvel's fingers with his own briefly.  As if he accidentally reached too far.  When he did his theory was confirmed.  Utterly flawless and perfectly smooth.  He had either altered his skin with magic or created a second layer for some reason.  The first thing he saw was the large black bold word 'Invitation'.  The gold designing and details were the second he noticed.  A moon on the top left and a symbol on the bottom right that was clearly the symbol of the company.  The words on the invitation were such:  You are invited to a Halloween party.  Courtesy of the West Fiore Trading Company.  Date:  October first midnight.  Dress code fancy.  Oras had never been invited to anything in his life but he was guessing that this was given to nearly everyone he encountered.  His next words confirmed it for Oras that it was open to everyone.  Oras' instinct was to decline the invitation.  He wasn't into parties or socializing.  However he realized that this could be a chance to learn more about this company, and about it's employees.  He didn't like knowing nothing about this company, especially since this man whom seemed familiar for some reason worked for said company.  He placed it deep in his cloak.

"I shall consider it," he said simply.  Then a sound echoed and before Oras could turn to observe what it was, the man stated it to be chimera's.  He was impressed the man was able to identify what kind of creature it was from the sound, but then again Oras would be at that point soon as well.  He watched as the man pulled out a dagger and cut himself.  Oras watched for a reaction and saw.  Nothing.  The man even looked at the action of a blade slicing through his flesh, the bright...blood seeping out. Except it didn't look like blood at all. From what he was seeing unless his sight was cheating him, the man was dripping liquid light. He'd need to investigate this man further for certain. And finally he was chanting something.  This man knew pain.  Not only that he had been through enough to the point where it had no effect on him.  Oras narrowed his eyes slightly upon this realization.  From the blood appeared a long haired warrior, and bloodlust was clear in the warrior's eyes.  Oras knew that he could go into berserk mode at any time.

So he has summoning magic Oras thought to himself.  This sounded extremely similar to someone he had encountered only a day or two prior.  He had summoning but he wasn't able to get a good look.  Was that why Ruvel seemed familiar?  Was he Moon?  It was a theory that could connect but still had a few holes.  Not only that but the summoned being was different.  Oras needed more evidence before he could come to any conclusions.  When Ruvel asked if Oras was in a guild he shook his head no as he leaned up against a dead tree.  With his summoned being doing the fighting, there was no reason to reveal his own magic to Ruvel, let alone his fighting tactics.  Especially if he was Moon, though he still wasn't sure.  Then Ruvel asked Oras if he thought the violence was a waste of life.

"Why live if you don't enjoy it?  He has found enjoyment in combat and thus he lives out his life in a way that pleases him.  Violence is inevitable.  One must always be ready and willing to fight.  Whether we choose to enjoy it or not is up to us."  Oras thought about the man's skin, and his reaction to his self infliction.  He came up with a theory and decided to test it.  "How many scars are you hiding right now?"

Ruvel couldn't make a comment on how the other had never heard of the company that he found himself now working for, before he met Cirven he knew very little about anything. Slowly but surely he was starting to learn life skills and things that seemed to be of importance. "Until I joined I hadn't heard of them before, but my upbringing..." he paused trying to prevent himself from shaking as he merely thought on his past "It was isolated" he admitted he just didn't want to go into exactly what he meant and if pushed he would back away from the subject. It still took it's toll on him even though he's was away from it now; but still there was a chance they where hunting him that scared him more than anything else did in this world and he had a lot of fears just on that place alone, many of his current habits also came from it and where he knew in time some would fade he realised that many would remain with him til his passing.

"I am glad I work for my company though, they look after me like I am family" he said calmly watching as Barthenz started on two more of the chimera laughing like a lunatic making him sigh a little. "I've got lost so often doing my jobs when I first started..." he laughed slightly "Still can't read a map so I had to ask directions constantly" he wasn't lying on the matter he did keep getting lost even now and couldn't read a map, he was getting better with it but still was still nowhere near as close as he should be with such a skill. He had a suspicion that the other was trying to figure out who he was but then he still had no idea how his voice would have seemed familiar to the other as his mask would have changed his voice so it baffled him. "You're likely wondering why I work for a trading company now you've seen I have magic, a guild would likely be best for me." he looked down his eyes closing as he let out a sigh "West Fiore Trading Company have their own country, as we are a trading company we select people to deal with the running of the place and once a month I believe we get reports back on what is needed. It's only natural that there would be mages within the company's ranks... As far as I know even the guards around the headquarters have magic." he said with a shrug, he knew if he was in the others shoes he would be thinking the same thing so thought he would offer up the information.

He had no idea that the other was taking notes on how his skin looked as the glow was dull and the glamour was so close to his skin, no other had picked up on it so didn't suspect that his current company would. What many had noted was that his skin was pale, the pigment barely above albino and that had nothing to do with the glamour or his magic it was how he had always been. He already knew what the man had wanted to be called after all he had had this conversation before with him under his guise of Moon "Pleasure to meet you, that's quite the interesting alias." he wasn't looking for more information, his tone showed it as a matter of fact way. Barthenz had by now slayed the third Chimera and was messing around with the fourth and sighed knowing he was just toying with the poor creature.

Hearing the other agreeing with how he thought about it chuckled "At least I'm not the only one who thinks the same on such matters" he said with a smile "Have to wonder if they put it into a tombola and pull out random words and decided that would be a certain areas name?" he said his eyes going to a sigh "I mean lets take where the trading companies headquarters is located. Divide Island... I mean there's no divide only true part about it is that it's an island" he said honestly. He blinked as he noticed the others hesitation at taking the invitation feeling like perhaps he had made a mistake in offering him it. He smiled as it was taken but pulled back quickly as he felt the other making contact with him. Instinctively he rubbed his hands on his clothing almost like trying to get something off, "Sorry, I don't like having physical contact with people; it's nothing against you I swear" He hated contact but that was due to his upbringing and what contact meant. "I'm glad that you will consider it and if you do look forward to conversing with you once more." he said gathering himself once more.

He listened to the words that where spoken to him about enjoying life and looked back to him blinking "Enjoyment is another illusion" he spoke to the other "A fleeting one at that, at the end of the day all we are doing is surviving long enough to draw our next breath." he knew it was a jaded and cynical way of looking at things but none the less he had no reason not to look at things in such a manner, because to him this was a truth that would never change in his mind. He was glad that his summon was happy, but at the same time he knew when the fight ended the enjoyment would and he would be looking for the next one in the hopes of experiencing a better high. "I can't fight" he said simply, he just didn't have the strength or body type to do such things but then even if he did he would still refuse to do it. The next question threw him off guard "That's why you make contact with me when I handed you the invitation?!" he seemed offended angry even he stood looking to the other, it was clear in his eyes he felt violated but it was more than that it was the look of a child that had something taken from them again when they where just getting use to having it.

His eyes moved to the right as he turned his head away "To many to count... you are still welcome to the party but please don't talk to me within it" his voice that had had an undertone of warmth the whole time turning icy cold as he stood and walked towards his summon. He was just getting use to having privacy and others respecting it when someone had just torn it all from him once more 'Stop playing around barthenz, lets get this done I want to go home.' he sent to his summon who turned slicing the chimera in half. There was very few times that the warrior had seen Ruvel's cold side and that meant that the limits of what was allowed was off "Fine kid" he said walking behind the smaller man as they left to meet the next thing they needed to kill to get off this island and back home; but at this point he thought he may as well just return back to the original place he was raised at least when they removed security, safety and other basic human rights they where up front about it.

OOC Note:  Combining both strong monsters to create the boss

The wizard Ruvel replied to Oras, stating that he hadn't known about the company himself before...  What?  He met them?  They met him?  There was something he wasn't telling him.  Then right after he said this he mentioned his upbringing and stopped talking.  Oras noticed that he was extremely uncomfortable and didn't wish to discuss it, only saying that his upbringing was isolated.  Oras could respect him being vague and avoiding the topic of his past, though he was wondering why he would bring that up at all.  A simple 'I haven't heard of them before joining them either' would have been sufficient.  What sort of game was this man playing at?  It was as if he was hanging the knowledge above Oras' head, expecting him to jump and seize it.  Was he luring him out?  Attempting to learn more about Oras as well?  He was unsure.

The wizard then mentioned how he loved working for the company and how they treated him as if he were family.  To be quite honest Oras had never heard of a company treat each other this way.  Of course it wasn't impossible.  If it was true Oras was willing to bet that it was a family company rather than a government company like most out there.  He went on to say how he managed to get himself hopelessly lost during his jobs and missions, even if he looked at a map, and Oras blinked with surprise, never before hearing something like that before.  At least his company was worth more than family and payment now.  Wait he thought.  He didn't say that he was lost even when looking at a map.  He said he couldn't read a map.  Had no one in the company who treated him like family teach him how to look at a map and tell where you were, where you wished to go, and how to track the best route there?  Oras could teach him if he wanted.  And if he traveled with Oras, as he was a nomad who continuously wandered around the world.

The wizard then accurately guessed as to what Oras had been thinking and nodded slightly, glad to know that the man was smart enough to figure this on his own without having to be asked directly.  He was beginning to like this man...  If he could get over his own caution and survival skills he might have been friends with him.  However his own natural protocol dictated that he take every precaution available to him and analyze what he could about others near him before taking action.  He had no idea if this man wished to use him or betray him, and nothing yet to prove he wouldn't.  He shared about how the company was in another country and explained why they would need wizards.  Oras nodded in understanding, growing less suspicious now than he was before.  He definitely understood how they'd have wizards as guards.  Especially since the company worked for a different country altogether.  No doubt however the company was under the eyes of the Magic Counsel.  After Verus introduced his Alias, the man called him on it, calling it an 'interesting' alias.  The name had a meaning of course, as it was a legitimate word.  However nobody really knew that anymore.

After this he seemed relieved that someone else agreed with him on the name, giving a fictional example of what may have happened, using this image as a joke against those who had come up against the name.  Oras wasn't the type of person to insult in an indirect manner as Ruvel seemed to be.  If he meant it as an insult, he would make it clear he did.  If it was unclear if he was attempting to insult you then he probably did so by accident and without knowing he did.  He then did something that Oras felt was extremely stupid and foolish for anyone to do.  He gave the name of the location of his company's headquarters.  Anyone with any brains would know you don't give the main place of operations to a complete stranger.  Of course, it could also be a trap.  Luring crooks and thieves to the island in hopes of taking something, and finding nothing but an ambush and officers waiting for them.  Depending on which of these end results was true would determine (for Oras at least) how intelligent the man's words, or rather decision to disclose such information to an utter stranger, was.

When Oras touched the man he reacted, pulling his hand back swiftly and apologizing, stating how he didn't like physical contact with others and how it wasn't his fault.
"No offense taken," Oras said.  He had the information he needed and that was the end of it.  This man was hiding something and it made him very very uneasy.  Why would a man who worked for a trading company need to hide his skin?  There were multiple options.  It could be to hide scars of war and look more professional or business like.  It could also be that he wasn't entirely human and he wished to look so.  The options as to why were endless.  All Oras had discovered was that he was hiding something by wearing a falsified skin that he had managed to detect.  He had no way of dispelling the illusion as he was unaware as to how it functioned exactly, so he would need to lure the man into revealing the truth with conversation.  If he retaliated Oras would be ready.

Oras smiled when he said that enjoyment was an illusion, despite that the man Ruvel could not see him smile.  Enjoyment itself was real.  What was an illusion was that joy and enjoyment was stable.  Everything changed over time.  The men in ancient times had a far different form of enjoyment than people who lived today.  An individual who discovers what they love and enjoy, and are content with what they have, would live as the most blissful individual in existence.  Oras couldn't live life like that.  Knowing the truth had a way of scaring your soul and he could never go back from that.  He was a survivalist, and could not live life like many others did or wished to.  Of course he did have the hopes of finding someone whom he could spend his time with, without having to worry and analyze the entire time of course.  When and how that would happen however...  That was the real mystery.  Oras suspected that he would never find someone.

He added after a pause, keeping Oras from replying to his statement on the topic of enjoyment, that he couldn't fight.  Oras paused and scanned him up and down with his eyes, his head unmoving.  He had to completely agree.  The man didn't seem to have the physical strength for physical combat, and the look in his eyes was that of a pacifist.  No wonder the man relied on the strength of others that he summoned to his side.  He was unable to fight, both in body and in mind.  Oras had to wonder why he chose the path of a wizard in the first place, when most of it was done through fighting and combat.  Oras was about to comment on it when Ruvel reacted to his question...  In a rather negative light.  He connected the dots back to when Oras had made physical contact with him.  He didn't catch him reading the man's skin with his eyes, as his eyes were hidden behind a black visor.  When the man stood up, seeming offended and violated, Oras was confused.  All he had done was made an observation, and touched him to confirm whether or not he was right.  How was that wrong?

"Yes.  I noticed that your skin was unlike anyone else in that it was literally perfect in every way.  I made physical contact to confirm my suspicions.  That is all."  That didn't seem to help.  The man answered his question, stating that he had too many scars to count, and he said it while looking away and with cold hate in his voice.  Oras evidently, had crossed a line he knew not was there.  Oras watched him walk away, the summon stopping, probably from hearing a telepathic message, and was confirmed when the summon spoke to him as if answering.

Oras could tell he would not work with Oras so he'd need to finish his assignment on his own.  Oras walked in a different direction to avoid the wizard's anger and ended up running into two cyclops.  The two brutes looked at him and immediately fell into a rage and charged at him.  Suddenly, there were not one Oras, but seven which caused them to stop in confusion.  The moment they did, Oras and his illusions charged indifferent directions.  These creatures were extremely simple minded, which meant that they were very predictable.  He knew which they would attack first and made sure those were his illusions.  After they struck at the false Oras', his three physical illusions struck at the monsters, running in a sort of cubic figure eight between the monsters, striking over and over again with their daggers in the same area of the monster.  This area was where their vital blood vessels were.  The problem however, was that the cyclops had extremely thick skin. Oras saw this and leaped back knowing what he could do as a final action. Oras cast his only offensive spell at both of them. The spell of course, was split into three separate orbs. The first blasted between them, causing the dirt to go up as a tiny smoke screen and distracting them. The other two orbs struck the areas that the illusions had been striking, and thus thinning out the skin more. Oras charged in with his two blades now that said damage was done, and along with his three other illusions, slashed at each of the cyclops' wounds as they passed by, Oras in the back and dealing the final strike.

He stopped and turned as his targets slowly fell to the ground, unable to walk anymore, as they would very soon die from too much blood loss.  Especially with the size of the wound Oras made.  Before he could do any celebrating however, he spotted something crawling out of a nearby cliff.  He turned and leaped back, narrowly avoiding the tail of one of the two headed snakes that had appeared,  Four heads looked at him from both ends and he knew this would be more difficult.  He knew he'd need to use magic this time, and not just his illusions.  The mirages shot off, the false ones after the serpent to the right and the physical ones to the left.  Oras charged along with the non physical illusions.  The basic tactic was to leap and evade the monster's attacks while cutting at the underside of it's body and necks, using the daggers to block any teeth.  Oras was basically leaping from one neck to the other, slashing at the beast.  The creature caught on quickly but when it shot it's head at him to devour him, Oras pushed himself higher and thrust both his daggers into the serpent's eyes, swinging underneath and slipping the blades out, cutting the throat of the creature.

His illusions were working together as he controlled them, distracting the heads as he destroyed them.  While he worked on this monster, his physical illusions were doing something similar now, and had managed to cut the throats of the serpents after several attempts.  With one dealt with, his illusions came and aided him.  With four attackers, the final serpent soon fell down dead.

Post by Ruvel on 5th October 2017, 2:47 pm

Ruvel continued walking his golden eyes though glaring and cold where glowing brightly as he walked on. He could feel the sickness taking over but cared nothing for it right now, he wanted this job done so he could get off this forsaken island and away from the bastard that had taken the last thing he could truly call his; if he was to be honest with himself he wanted the other dead and would happily take the man's life with his own hands regardless on how much of a strain it would put on him and his fragile body. He knew that the other had no idea what he done, how could he this was only the second time they had met and he was pretending to be a different person completely. He felt violated and didn't understand why if the other had a question why he didn't just ask him, of course he knew the other didn't know he couldn't lie and so that may have played a part of it but still it would have given him the option to answer or decline and give a reason as to why.

"Calm down kid, we don't have your medicine here." Barthenz stated walking beside him, he knew the energy the other was giving off and knew that he would be sick soon if he kept pushing himself "Don't double summon." he instructed but right now even the warrior knew he would get more response out of a brick wall than his young summoner, it was due to this he was partly intending to either knock him out, call the dream fairy or call Cirven to bring his medicine and knock some sense into him afterwards but given the current situation and when he was like this he was willing to wait a bit since Ruvel cared little about his actions which suited the warrior fine. "I'll be fine Barthenz quit worrying." his voice was cold as he spoke continuing to walk and find the heart of the issue, after all Barthenz had dealt with Chimeras but he knew the problem would be sorted if he could cut it off at the head.

It was then in the distance he heard sounds that he wasn't use to, his hands going to his ears before rubbing them "What is going on with my hearing recently, it's so sensitive." he said looking to the brick wall on legs who just shrugged not really knowing himself, though it did have him more than a little concerned. He cautiously continued but stopped suddenly seeing not only the griffin but twelve cyclops, a double headed snake and two more chimera "What the hell..." he exclaimed, it almost looked like they where having a meeting to decide on their next target "It looks like a board meeting" he shook his head sighing once more "I really wish I could skip today" he complained taking his dagger he stabbed it through his right hand knowing the summon he was about to call enjoyed torturing him, he often wondered why he made a contract with her in the first place. As the glowing liquid fell on the ground he sighed "Ordhabbi" he called bringing the dagger from his hand knowing this was just an accident waiting to happen.

Behind Ruvel a portal of pure fire appears and a slender woman walks out hugging Ruvel for a moment making the youth flinch wondering if she was about to slit his throat or harm him in some other way. Her golden eyes matching her long flowing golden hair that almost move like flames, her sun kissed showing she lived in a place that had a lot of sun and she would almost look like an Arabian dancer dressed in purple. "Aww, that's not nice Ruvel" she chuckled making him glare at her "Ordhabbi I am not in the damn mood!" he said coldly making the demoness stop in her tracks and look at Barthenz, to her knowledge Ruvel never acted anything more than his timid passive self 'Brick for brains what's going on with him?' she asked through the bond they had due to being summoned at the same time 'If I knew firework I would calm him down but I don't so I can't, him double summoning like this is dangerous... I'll need to let Sparky know about it when we get back but the quickest way to do it is to work together' he sent back the demoness nodding to the others words.

"You two finished your conversation?" he asked walking forward, he could tell by their posture they where having a conversation without him but he had no idea what about and to be honest he didn't care. "Will you just go take them out? I want to go." he said moving his hand towards the enemies ahead watching as the two summons dashed forward to deal with the task they had been requested with. Barthenz knew for a fact cyclops where dumb as a post, but strong and thick skinned and where he would want to play for hours with them he knew that the time for playing had passed and aimed for each of their eyes quickly in succession. This made them flail and start to hit each other and the others within their reach which suited the warrior fine as he now dashed towards the double headed snake dodging their strikes as he jamp between them and moved quickly as it opened it's mouth and tried to bite him only to bite the others neck making them bicker between themselves.

Ruvel watched from where he was as the twin headed snake and the cyclops's took themselves out thanks to Barthenz's tactics. Ordhabbi on the other hand had flew right towards the chimera, below her for thirty meter around her broke open due to fire forcing its way up. This normally wouldn't be an issue but the chimera and griffin where covered in fur and feathers that caught on fire. As they did catch fire they began to flail around attacking each other and anything that was close, due to this both Ordhabbi and Barthenz where hit sending them back towards Ruvel knocking the youth back; though winded he stood up dismissing both Ordhabbi and Barthenz. Kneeling he touched the ground his voice becoming gentle as he spoke "Ancient Earth, protector of all." he called below his feet a mound appeared "Take out the threat please Knaeuth" before he had even finished his sentence Knaeuth had already burrowed towards the threat to his summoner.

Though for now Knaeuth couldn't do what he wanted he moved around the area the creatures making them slower and stumbling into one another making the damage worse, not that ruvel cared much right now. Ruvel for now made hidden hand gestures activating another summon like Knaeuth below the earth this one couldn't be seen in fact he wasn't really anywhere near his summoner but rather on a cliff nearby. Ruvel knew that when making this contract he was taking a gamble as he had to trust that the summon would do what was in his best interest, for now however the hidden summon decided to wait knowing it wasn't time to take his shot. Even though pissed off with the male he had bumped into, he was wondering if he was going to make an appearance and help take out the thing that had caused the problem in the first place.

Re: Quick Extermination. Oras and Evyn.

Post by Oras Auro on 5th October 2017, 4:48 pm

Oras stood there for a moment. With the monsters in this area dead he should begin looking around to see if the rumors about the griffin were true. So he began to walk. As far as Oras knew, he would have no chance of regaining any grounds with Ruvel until the Halloween event. He still didn't know what he had done wrong, but the man would not talk to him at all. In fact, Oras was worried the man would attempt to kill him on sight outside of the party. Whether he tried to or not however, Oras would stand his ground. He couldn't do anything for the man until the party so he should focus on finishing the mission until then... Still, he couldn't help but wonder if the wizard would even let Oras apologize, let alone come anywhere near him in order to. He may very well not, but Oras would like confirmation to if he would or wouldn't. At any rate he would like to explain the situation to one of the members of the company so that he didn't stand in any negative grounds with them in the future.

As he began to move he thought about the conflict with the monsters and knew that he needed improvements. He currently had very few offensive spells and knew that this was a rather large issue for him. However he had designed his magic to keep himself from getting a single strike against him. This of course was done by warping, shattering, and ultimately destroying everything his opponents saw as real. It was meant to keep them from being able to spot him in all the chaos, let alone land a hit on him. In addition to this however, his magic was designed so that he could reveal to others the truth he had encountered: Nothing was real. Not even the laws of the universe were stable. Everything changed, everything in constant flux. Truth itself was an illusion. When Oras mastered his magic, no one would ever look at this world the same way again.

Of course he had a chance to learn about a secondary type of magic as well, and he knew this. Whatever it would be it would need to be offensive style to make up for his lack of offensive spells in his current arsenal. However he was unsure as to what the magic should be. Perhaps it could be a sort of magic that amplified his main illusion magic? Or perhaps branch it out more? It could also be something that most people wouldn't expect. It would need careful thought and consideration before he executed anything. Especially how it would work as offensive. There were many tactics he could choose from, including all out assaults, hit and run, striking from the shadows. There was also whether to go long range, short range or mid range. Designed for single targets or multiple targets? Every decision had it's pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses. Which demanded of course, for strategic thinking.

Oras heard a sound and rushed over, sliding behind a large group of massive rocks as he peered into the scene. He saw a group of cyclops', chimera's, and two headed serpents gathered around as if they were in a meeting or something. Oras could see the serpents and chmera's as a part of the meeting, but not the cyclops'. The griffin was there as well, confirming the rumor to be true. Perhaps the griffin was discussing with the serpents, and the cyclops' were simply there as bodyguards. He wondered if this was not as simple a matter as monsters attacking nearby areas as they try to expand, but strategically placed attacks in order to weaken the borders so they could invade other countries. There were certainly enough monsters on this island to make up an army after all. And the monsters (excluding the cyclops') were intelligent enough, or rather could be intelligent enough. At any rate it was Oras' job to clear them out.

The instant after his arrival however, two figures charged in and started their work in decimating their foes. One of them was the berserk warrior he had seen as Ruvel summoned him. Oras scanned the area until he spotted the wizard. Great he thought. He supposed he would need to find the right time to intervene. He watched as the two warriors, one of which was new to him and appeared to be a woman this time, very wisely caused discord among the many monsters, causing them to end up fighting each other. The griffin was displeased with this of course. Oras watched as the two warriors get knocked back and quickly scanned the area until he spotted a sort of cliff that he could leap from. Oras ran with all speed he could muster and ran up the hill towards said cliff. He watched the griffin breath in deeply before using wind magic to suck the oxygen out of it's area, killing off the flames. When they dispersed the griffin began breathing again, but it seemed that the feathers had already sustained heavy damage.

The griffin started flying upward to avoid attacks, using it's wind magic to aid it's ascendance. Oras was at the top of the cliff now and leaped off of it. He wouldn't reach the griffin alone but that wasn't the plan. He summoned one of his physical illusions which launched him forward. As he flew through the air, he summoned the other two illusions. The illusions landed on the creatures wings and pierced the daggers into the joints that held the wings on, while Oras landed on it's back and held on tightly as the creature began to fall to the ground. The creature struggled but Oras climbed towards it's head, held the dagger against it's throat, placed his feet against the back of it's neck, and pulled with all his might, cutting into it's neck and ending it's life. He stabbed the back of the creature until it was close enough to the ground for him to launch off it's back, land, and roll, removing any harm that could have occurred during the fall. The illusions disappeared and he stood up. He glanced at Ruvel, knowing he should avoid him for the time being, nodded and began to walk away.
