    Job Information:
    Job: Nightmare Incarnate: The Beginning
    Rank: C-Rank
Player Requirements: Maximum number of players is ten and the minimum is 2 D ranks. 10 posts per player minimum unless soloing(due to being higher than D rank) then 20 posts. 150 words per post.
Job Requirements: At least 2 D rank mages or the equivalent of. Find out what happened to the rune knights and escape while you are still sane.
    Job Location: Spooky Forest

Job Description: One day you receive a large box from the mailman. After inspecting it, you see that it doesn't say anywhere what's inside or why it's been sent to you. All that is written on the box is your name as the recipient and the initials "SM".
Upon opening the box you discover that it's contents are a hardcover book, which upon closer inspection proves to be a person called Samuel Martin's personal diary, and a voice recorder lacrima, both covered in blood stains. Did that man send you this package? Despite the bad feeling you have, you open the book and skim through the entries.

    INFORMATION:

Having listened to the lacrima, it's as if more questions have emerged than been answered. Who sent you these items? How do they know your name? What happened to the Rune Knights? What did they find in that forest?
It seems that you have no choice but to go there and find out yourself.

    Enemies:
Weak: Disturbing sounds- Are those footsteps? A demented laughter somewhere in the distance? A person's dying screams? Is that a whisper you can hear, carried in the wind? This place is really freaky...
(Causes paranoia or similar effects, depending on your character. Strong-willed characters or people with a great ability to maintain their calmness can resist this to a great extent, though not completely. Having multiple weak enemy dices means that these sounds "stack", and so their effect becomes greater and perhaps even capable of breaking even the toughest of people. Duration is 3 posts.)

Normal: Poltergeists- Trees falling down, rocks suddenly shooting towards you, having your body strongly pushed away without any explanation. These anomalies can deal some serious damage or scare the living daylights out of you. They might even separate you from your allies. Be on guard. (Single poltergeist per normal monster encounter.)

Strong: The unknown figure- You can feel it, can't you? Just beyond the mist, it's hollow eyes staring right into your soul, sending ice-cold chills down your spine. No matter where you look it's there. Always watching, always moving. And no matter what you do, it's always just beyond the mist.
(Greatly frightens you, triggering your fight or flight mechanism. Whether you choose to attack or run away and hide depends on your character's personality. If this occurs in the early stages of the mission, before you've encountered the other anomalies much it will not have that great an effect. Encountering this in the later stages, however, will trigger your fight or flight mechanism, guaranteed.
Duration is 4 posts, extended depending on number of strong monster encounter dices rolled.)

Boss: Fear impersonated- Your time is up. The chase is over and now you must die. And it is coming to do just that. The unknown figure that had been stalking you until then finally appears before you, for better or worse. It's a humanoid about 2,5 metres tall, clad in black, but that's all you can make out of the figure.
It's attacks are unnaturally fast, it's reach long and it seems that it can attack you with it's tentacles, cutting you with them and letting you bleed. (This is a B-rank monster. Also please note that defeating it means that it does not die. Instead it escapes back into the mist, which gets raised soon after, and leaves behind several torn pages).

Reward: 1,000 jewels. If the boss has appeared and was defeated, the extra reward is part of the ripped pages from the diary received in the beginning of the mission. Those pages grant access to the next Nightmare Incarnate mission.

Due to how efficiently himself and his new companion had dealt with the issue in Oak Town efficiently the citizens insisted that they remained the night before heading off, they had said it was the least they could do given the circumstances. Reluctantly both he and Malakai agreed to the request and where placed into a room with one of the best inns. Ruvel had allowed his companion to take the bed while he went to a corner and laid on the floor, though he should of slept he didn't his eyes remained fixed on the wall the entire night as he listened to his summons talk. He had never noticed them speaking though the link before not without him taking part, he realised that he must be getting stronger in his magic which made him smile, but he also realised it also made it easier for him to be tracked if they had realised that he did indeed had more magic than what he had originally been given credit for.

During the evening when the other was asleep he had moved down to the kitchen of the inn to get a glass of water but stopped seeing a box at the door of the room they were sharing and blinked as if it where some sort of strange artifact. Believing it to be a mistake he picked up the box and looked at it but then like always the writing looked like weird squiggles. He knew he would eventually have to figure it out but for now he didn't need the lecture have the want to start learning how to read. 'Could one of you read what the box says so I can put it where it belongs?' he asked to his summons in the hopes one of them would forfil his request without giving him a lecture about needing to learn to do such things 'It's addressed to you kid... well you and the guy that's asleep' he heard from Barthenz making Ruvel instantly go back into the room with the parcel and close the door, he may not have known much but he was pretty sure that such things would normally be left at the front desk and would be handed over by the desk clerk so to find it there baffled the youth.

Putting the box on the table he walked over to the sleeping Malakai and shook him a little "Hay wake up" he said continuing to shake him, his eyes wandering over to the strange box wondering what was inside but he feared that it may have writing and if it did he would be at a loss because he didn't want to keep harassing his summons every five seconds to read something "We've got a strange parcel, it was left at the door and was addressed to us" he said continuing to shake the other, he couldn't help but wonder if this had all been planned in advance but he believed that couldn't have been it given that up until they met on the last job they had no clue that the two would be working together, nor did they expect to be staying the night at an in or together, just just made the whole situation stranger.

The nightmares plagued him all night. He would tossed and turn in the bed of the inn they were currently staying in. Shinokage and his new acquaintance were asked to stay the night for free since they had just saved the town from a lot of rogue fire wizards that were under the control of a mental spell. Fenrir had decided to sleep out side after a day of battling and a quick hunt for food the wolf needed some time in the wilderness to recuperate. Shinokage decided to let the wolf be and stayed with Ruvel. He tried to not move too much to allow the mage on the floor a comfortable sleep. A little afterwards he drifted off into an almost uneventful sleep. This was until the nightmares came to plague him in his sleep.

The darkness, the same cold shrill suddenly being cut off from existence followed by the giant red eyes and the large shadowy figure. It reaches across the abyss for what seems to be an eternity its claws protruding from the shadowy depths as it came at him. Shino tried to move, call for help or even mutter a spell to help him against this monstrosity that seemed to move with all the time in the world as if it knew its prey wouldn't move and it could kill him whenever it saw fit. He felt the beast inches away and he still couldn't move or speak and in the last seconds Shinokage saw the true face that was once obscured in shadow the face that made a scream echo through out his whole nightmare. He saw his own face, the face of the beast was his own, He was his own worst nightmare.

Shinokage shot up in bed as he was being shaked awake by Ruvel who seemed to want something. Shino stood up pulling his long hair away from his face. He looked up at the wizard with a questioning look on his face,"What's up, I was having a good dream." ,he days lying to him. he stretched his arms and cracked his neck. Ruvel said that someone had left a package for them and that it was on the table. Shinokage sighs and walks over to it and looks it over. It looked to be a plain box with no magical energy emitting from it. He tossed the box around and the walked over to the bed and placed it down looking at Ruvel,"I think its just a thank you package from on of the citizens that we helped. You can open it and if anything jumps out ill blast it to ashes." . He nods at Ruvel and steps back awaiting for him to open the box.
