In Progress [100y] [Monster Hunt] Dragonfall [Remake]

Post by Eris on 22nd June 2017, 1:06 pm

    Monster Hunt:  Dragonfall

    Rank: 100y
Player Requirements: Two S-Ranked Wizards or more.  Cannot be done solo.   Each dragon may only be defeated once, period, before being stricken from the list of Unique dragons.   The job itself may be beaten 10 times, with the 10 unique dragons, unless updated with more dragons.
    Job Requirements: Kill a High Dragon.  400 words minimum/post, 75 posts total/topic.
    Job Location: Varies.
Job Description:   Job applicants decide on how they are presented with this job, varying on a case by case basis.   Could be a request by someone,  their own initiative,  or the dragon is making an aggressive move on a location.

You must roll once each post, per player.  One Monster die, and one Number die.   Odd or Even numbers paired with the monster die dictate the attack for the post.  Each attack is done towards whoever it is currently attacking, the easiest person to hit at the moment,  or done in a way to hit as many of the player characters as possible,  or is done in response to the actions of the current player's turn.

    Enemies:
    Choose ONE.

    1. Acnologia: The Slaying Dragon.  Graveyard Sea - Fiore.
    2. Apollyniogin:  The Solar Dragon.  Desierto.
    3. Murdeirrum: The Undying Dragon.  Unknown Lands.
    4. Nyrdonthjor: The Ancient Dragon.  Seven.
    5. Eresidroth: The Arctic Dragon.  Iceburg.
    6. Synzrasdem: The Lunar Dragon.  Earthland (Not a sub-forum within it, just the Earthland forum itself)  On the moon.
    7. Rorsynersom:  The Sacred Dragon.  Pergrande.
    8. Gundroyisuld: The Clockwork Dragon.  Bellum.
    9. Quazthezophius:  The Mad Dragon.  Minstrel.
    10. Margacorvae:  The Midnight Dragon.  Joya.

    High DragonAcnologia
    Spoiler:

Born over 400 years ago, Acnologia was one of the first Dragon Slayers to come into being, entering the Dragon King Festival on the side supporting coexistence. Acnologia and a group of other Dragon Slayers, however, became corrupted by their power and disregarded the cause their comrades fought for, killing every Dragon they could, and bathing in their blood. Due to the overuse of his Magic, Acnologia's physique eventually turned into that of a Dragon's, and he proclaimed himself to be the Dragon King.

    HP5,600 (40 H-ranks)

Death Damage:  Death Damage cannot be healed by traditional healing magic and stops HP Regen.   Death Damage instantly kills Pets and NPCs that are not resistant or immune to Death damage or are otherwise unliving.

Resistance:  Acnologia is resistant to death magic effects by 50% and cannot be subject to mental control or attempts to physically transform him,  and ignores attempts to suppress any of his abilities or attacks.   Acnologia is resistant to Demon and God slaying, but vulnerable to Dragon slaying.

    Attacks:
All dragons may perform any attack you as the job-goers want to give it on top of those which are presented here;  but it must still be rolled, and the dragon must still perform the move rolled,  to form a minimum baseline effectiveness.

    Weak:
    Odd: Rending Claws
Acnologia lashes out with a viscous claw attack that deals 150 damage on hit and can send someone flying on impact.  Deals an additional 100 Death Damage from the claws outwards with a series of razor waves of slashing death energy that keep traveling and growing in length for 1 mile at 400mps   If Fury is active,  this will instead deal damage and Grab them, potentially immobilizing them for 1 post.

    Even: Warp Wings
Acnologia beats is powerful wings once and vanishes completely,  disappearing to reappear somewhere within the mile.   The gale force of his wings stirs up a hurricane force wind that tears across the ocean surface creating fog in the area and sending all who can't resist it flying away up to 500 meters in any direction from the origin.  This can knock away projectile effects of S-rank or less.   Where Acnologia appears is a burst of black and blue death magic for 500 meters around him,  160 meters per second.

    Normal:
    Odd: Dragon's Fury
Acnologia's blue markings glow more vibrant and a blue haze surrounds him for the post as he strikes with twice the speed and +50% to all damage dealt.  Roll again, ignoring a Normal result.  Additional damage applies to both physical and death damage independently.

    Even: Dragon's Fervor
Acnologia's blue markings glow more vibrant and a red haze surrounds him for the post as he moves in general twice as fast and resists all damage by 50%.  Roll again, ignoring a Normal result.  If Acnologia is Slain while Fervor is active,  Acnologia will continue to attack in a frenzied death-state for the next three posts before finally dying,  roll an additional time for each of these posts.

    Strong:
    Odd: Crushing Maw
Acnologia strikes with a devastating bite attack with a maw full of black and blue death magic that deals 300 damage and 200 death damage on a hit and can brutally sever limbs and destroy items/objects, ignoring armor or shield effects that function similarly to armor.   If the target is Grabbed,  they take double damage and this attack cannot miss.

    Even: Vital Strike
A blue sheen springs to life around the focus of Acnologia's next attack.  The next attack heals Acnologia for twice the damage dealt in total, to all affected by it as blue flames return to Acnologia from it's victims.

    Boss:
    Odd:  Apocalypse Roar
Acnologia gathers blue death magic in his mouth before roaring,  sending a torrent of destructive force powering out across the land.  Five miles long cone, five miles wide at the end,  dealing 700 death damage to all hit,  instantly destroying generic objects in the background including the land itself and most buildings.  Continue an extra five miles (10 miles wide) where it's damage lowers by 125 per mile.

    Even: Dragon Force
For the rest of the fight,  Acnologia takes and deals 50% more or less damage by default,  further increased by Fury or decreased by Fervor.   Roll twice each post per player now instead of once.  If Dragon Force comes up again,  instead use Apocalypse Roar.

    High Dragon: Apollyniogin
    Spoiler:

Apollyniogin started its roots as an idol figure for primitive tribes lasting into the age of knights and castles when the hearts of men turned from it and its brutality, regarding it more as a living catastrophe than a deity  Apollyniogin was said to bring prosperity to the land,  after great sacrifices,  instilling the landscape with fertility and good weather.   It was ruthless as a god more akin to a raider demanding tribute, but ever since then Desierto has become the desert that it is today,  either a product of its curse or the dragons past blessings were true.

    HP2,100 (15 H-ranks)

    Special attributes:
REGENERATOR.  Apollyniogin regenerates 50% of the damage dealt to him at the start of each new post cycle.

Resistance:  Apollyniogin is resistant to magic effects by 50% and cannot be subject to mental control or attempts to physically transform him,  and ignores attempts to suppress any of his abilities or attacks.   Apollyniogin is resistant to Dragon and Demon slaying, but vulnerable to God slaying.

    Attacks:
All dragons may perform any attack you as the job-goers want to give it on top of those which are presented here;  but it must still be rolled, and the dragon must still perform the move rolled,  to form a minimum baseline effectiveness.

    Weak:
    Odd: Glittering Scales
For this post all who's eyes see the body of Apollyniogin see its shimmering scales sparkle with countless pinpoints of intense light.    Just looking at Apollyniogin causes 40 solar damage and blinds for 2 posts,  with 100% reduced vision at first getting 25% better each post there after.   Regeneration abilities add your HP regeneration value and the % of your total HP healed by healing effects to the % of sight returned.
If you resist or are immune to being blinded,  this is only halved in effectiveness, unless you physically do not have or require eyes.

    Even: Sunray
Apollyniogin at the first sign of damage this post fades into a visible but translucent ethereal form in which it ignores physical damage for the following post and can "Fade" out as though ascending into the sky, rising a bit becoming increasingly less visible with every foot/meter.   Then it descends in reverse anywhere it chooses- literally anywhere, so long as it is open to the sun and is daytime where it wishes to go.   Generally within a 1-2 miles or less when its fighting.    It stops being immune to physical damage shortly after it arrives at the end of the Sunray teleport, generally near the end of the post it was rolled;  remember that that time spent ethereal also effects other posts following the roll as well.   It's not a turn based game,  posts overlap one another.

    Normal:
    Odd:  Sun Smite
Apollyniogin need not think or expend any effort more than a glance or flick of its tail,  in the process casting a large circular area of light across the ground as though a spotlight were tracing its way from the dragon towards its intended target.   This "spotlight" travels at 320m/s and once it centers on someone,  which it will move to seek the intended target (Someone it is currently in active combat with or who rolled it),  it will then immediately snap into an intense column of blinding light as a solid tangible ray of solar light and fires.   Anyone within its 25 meter area or has the pillar of light within their line of sight is effected by Glittering Scales.
Deals 120 damage.  Will penetrate most structures, buildings, and caves,  even the ground up to a depth of 50 meters.
