    Alnoe Vale

Post by Alnoe Vale on 17th June 2017, 11:10 am

    Name: Alnoe Vale
    Gender: Male
    Age: 27
    Birthday: March 2nd
    Sexuality: Straight
    Special Characteristics: N/A

Personality: Alnoe Vale has been called the "Prince of Hermits" for a multitude of reasons but above all because his personality fits the description of a classical hermit. His peaceful mannerisms and unhindered joy indicate that he has largely cut himself off from the bustling stress of the larger world. Truthfully, he enjoys the tranquility of quiet solitude over the rush of adventure and hardly feels burdened by the simple living he has accustomed himself with over the years. Combine that with his contemplated wisdom and earned renown, and you get someone who is truly the Prince of Hermits. The title itself is telling of Alnoe, for it was once used as an insult against him but has steadily become endearing to the man.

Alnoe bears a special brand of hopefulness that could best be described as naive enthusiasm. With no reason or evidence, he holds steadfast that the future has much goodness and comfort to offer in spite of adversity. That much alone suggests that he's not completely ignorant of the pains of life, but he he does blindly follow the mantra of "all will workout in due time." This makes him a soft spot for the weary to fall on when they're in need of support but it can also make him appear a fool to realists who know better. It is for that reason he makes for a better figure of comfort than anything. It should strongly be added that Alnoe's optimism is not the cause of his inclination towards joy but rather a symptom of it.

It can be said that Alnoe possesses a great amount of wisdom on abstract matters, such as morality, but his capacity for thought often ends there because he lacks a great deal of practical knowledge and (sometimes) common sense. It's one of the weakest parts of his character and is why he would never make it when thrown sizable responsibility; not for a lack of trying but for general incompetence. When that culminates with his unshakable hopefulness, he appears easily manipulated and victim to deception. Neither of those are untrue for although he has a grand and noble goal in his own little world, he's very aloof to the grander scheme of things going on around him.

Alnoe has a good will that compares to suicidal altruism. When he sees a good deed or worthy cause, he will thoughtlessly give it his backing to the fullest extent. This is fine and good to him but it can often have negative implications given its impracticality. One such example is his unwillingness to lie even to those who wish him harm in some form. It makes not only him vulnerable but his close friends as well. The concept is the same across all facets, from his refusal to kill even the most violent souls to his eager willingness to give up his possessions for another. It is easily just another reason to not leave him too much responsibility but it at least gives him a path to win the hearts of others.

People are usually surprised to learn Alnoe is rarely content with the state of things. He is in fact the opposite in that he is constantly at work toward improving his surrounding environment in both small ways and big. He may be determined, for example, to change something as complicated as the political nature of Fiore or something as small as the anguish of a single individual. His ability to act as a catalyst of change can be most inspiring to his allies whilst making him a special thorn in the side of his detractors, for it can be rest assured that he will toil endlessly to advance and develop whatever state of affairs he finds himself in.

The signature portion of Alnoe's personality that best defines him is his unbreakable compsure. No one except for those who knew him in adolescence can say they have seen him angry and it is likely to stay that way for some time due to a very disciplined inner joy that Alnoe has spent his early adulthood developing. Some cruel souls might test this serentity but his poised spirit is strong enough that not even the worst of circumstances could crush his spirit or draw out his ire. Because of this, his patience is seemingly endless and he makes for a sturdy shoulder to lean on which, by extension, makes it truly easy for him to earn the good graces of others. Overall, the world might see a frustrated Alnoe at best but it will never see an angry or demoralized one.

Despite his vow against dealing fatal blows, Alnoe has a surprising amount of experience in the use of magic for fighting. His style of fighting is extremely reminiscent of a classical spell caster who stand far from the actual combat but he does not lose his cool when subjected to close-range, which is where his true strength lies: just as with social situations, Alnoe never loses his cool under the pressure of combat. Although he lacks any tactical genius, he can utitlize this unbending calmness to coolly make decisions. His greatest weakness, however, lies in his inhibition towards unnecessary violence and killing. This makes it very difficult to subdue his more determined opponents but also opens the door to future cooperation with his more willing enemies.

As the name implies, the Prince of Hermits does not have much of a history of working with others in a tightly-knit group. While he might not lack the humility required to follow another's leadership, he does lack the experience to efficiently follow commands. This problem is compounded by his strict moral code which can be at odds with his leader in the best of times. When the shoe is on the other foot and Alnoe must take charge as a leader, his priority in combat tends toward causing as little pain between the participants as possible. The most likely boon to his leadership above all, however, would be the faith and support of those he lead.

    Likes:

    • Solitude ~ Alnoe has grown accustomed to a life of solitude and tranquility have spending a large portion of his adult life in a hermitage. This in no way implies he's not the skilled social butterfly his personality has enabled, but he simply finds the setting suitable for relaxation and contemplation.
    • Altruism ~ In living the humble life of a hermit, Alnoe has learned he gains a soothing joy from acts of kindness. Furthermore, he earns the same satisfaction from witnessing such behavior from those around him and will encourage it in his allies.
    • Statues ~ Alnoe's former teacher who had instructed him on the ways of a hermit had a hobby in which he cared for the statues of an old ruin. Alnoe would eventually adopt this hobby and in addition to enjoying the cleaning and caring of statues, he almost always just the aesthetics of them.
    • Berries ~ It should come as no surprise that a hermit has few options for food. Among his favorites, Alnoe enjoyed the rare berries of the forest he dwelled and has since developed a taste for berries in general.

    Dislikes:

    • Cities ~ As he grew up, Alnoe spent a lot of time in metropolitan areas where he earned himself much stress from the booming activities of endless crowds. He much more prefers the quiet slowness of forests and small villages.
    • Cruelty ~ The gentle nature of Alnoe is easily at odds with heartless barbarism. It makes him feel uncomfortable just to witness and he will likely attempt to put a stop to it even if it puts himself at risk.
    • Idleness ~ For someone so desiring of constant change, Alnoe detests stagnation and the refusal to evolve one's self and one's settings. It's rare that someone can evoke frustration from Alnoe through the use of his disdain for this trait and is far more likely that he would be more so frustrated with himself if he finds his lifestyle becoming idle.
    • Meat ~ Alnoe enjoyed a varied diet once but his life style has completely turned his tongue off against the taste of meat, especially cooked meat. The diet has very apparently caused his small and feminine form.

    Motivations:

    • Peace ~ Alnoe had once tried to escape the the world to live a life of peace but the world's trouble inevitably caused him problems he could not ignore. He has since determinedto find a way to bring stability and peace to the world or, at least, Fiore.
    • Allies ~ Alnoe is not ignorant of his own limits. He has realized that to achieve his goals, he must find the strength of friends and allies to help him in his quest.
    • Change ~ Being a man who enjoys causing great change for the better, Alnoe has somewhat made it his goal to constantly improve the situations and standings of both himself and those around him, preferably in significant ways.

    Fears:

    • Doubt ~ In abandoning the life of a hermit and attempting to influence the world, Alnoe had received a great scolding from his teacher that caused him to doubt his own path. He has become far more selfconcious about the path he has chosen as a result which seems to be one of the few facets from which anxiety can flow into his life.
    • Hedonism ~ Alnoe had once been handed everything he desired. The temptation to return to such a standard of living lies in the back of his mind and he fears he might one day turn his back on his personal code for a life of luxury once more.
    • Manipulation ~ Alnoe is aware that his ethics make him very easy to manipulate and he fears that a sinister force might use him for nefarious purposes.

    General Appearance

    Height: 5'10"
    Weight: 157 lbs.
    Hair: Sable and slicked back.
    Eyes: Blue
    Skin Tone: Light
Appearance: Alnoe makes for a stunning sight at first glance due to his very-feminine appearance, especially in the facial region. He wears a set of small, supple lips that ties in with his short but droopy nose and a pair of bright blue eyes. Emphasis should be put on his well-cared eye lashes which help pull off his dainty presentation most of all. His head, overall, is appropriately shaped in a manner which gives him a younger appearance and it holds a pair of long and drooped (just like his nose) ears which are always neatly exposed through his hair. In looking past the feminine features of his face, one will almost always find a calm and soothing expression.

Alnoe's hair comes off as amazingly graceful for a hermit. It dons a dull sable color that is almost entirely slide toward the back of his head. The poofy collar of his outfit often makes it difficult to tell just how long his hair truly is but it usually doesn't go past the nape of his neck. The longer locks of his hair not slid back are typically left to hang loose to the side of his head and in front of his ears. He might not advertise it but the general appearance of his hair is an accident most of the time since his lifestyle has little demand for beautiful and so he does not worry about it.

As expected, Alnoe possesses a thin (if not curvy) bodily form that suggests a simple life free from physical strain combined with a proper diet of green foods. His small, soft hands which are free from even the smallest blemish in contrast with the rough hands of the average man his age. That lack of scarring can be said for the rest of his light but not overly-pale skin which unsurprisingly has a softness to its quality.

The uniform most people catch Alnoe wearing is one which serves as a reminder of his old life, before he moved into a hermitage. Said outfit, which possesses a distinctly imperial feel to it as is fitting for the Prince of Hermits, consists primarily of a long green coat which reaches down past his knees. The coat cuts off at several points along his waist to form several cape-like cloth wings that drape down his legs, and it is here that several ascetic embroideries of red and yellow vines and clouds can be found. The most noticeable part of this coat, however, is its white poofy edges which line up and down the opening of the coat as well around the collar of the neck and sleeves. The coat also has a pair of dark, intricate shoulder pads but they offer very little protection.

The rest of Alnoe's outfit is pretty simple compared to his signature coat. He usually wears a simple gold and dark dress shirt with green lining but it's almost never visible except around his wrists. For pants, he wears a white pair of silk trousers with large collars to give his legs freedom of movement. The pants and the shirt are joined together by a beautiful red sash with a black and golden guard that matches well with the shoulder pads of his coat. His choice of footwear might not be the most practical, for they're a pair of boots made of heavy metal to protect his otherwise vulnerable feet while also providing a visually-pleasing image with black and gold paint as well as a pointed toe on each.

Although he does not like to wear except for when he ventures out, Alnoe's outfit comes with an old nobleman's cap which is adorned with a rectangular ornament which is further covered with strings of dusty jewelry. The cap is easily knocked off his head but his fighting style minimizes that risk.
