Not much is known for Michael's history, other than being the sole surviving soldier of the Arch Vorbrundt Massacre, as the survivors would call it. The trauma has caused his memories to disappear without a trace, and has now started a new life as a gun for hire living in the Neutral Grounds. Giselle, one of the survivor and one of the magic engineers behind his magic, has set up a tech shop that serves to sell and repair magical devices.
Michael, unbeknownst to him, has siblings - 6 brothers, 3 of which looks just like him and a set of triplets. Each of them have their own professions, namely, Francois working as a Rune Knight, Ozwald venturing every nook and corner of Fiore for hidden knowledge and artifacts, Cinna a prodigal artist, Spock undergoing double life as a celebrity and assassin, and Antoine serving up delicacies and delicious meals in his restaurant. Olaf, however, does not have any profession, and is currently a NEET. He, Francois, Ozwald, and Olaf share the same face as they are quadruplets, while Cinna and Spock look similar albeit with other distinguishing features. The last of the triplets, Antoine, underwent transmutation and became what he calls an owlbear.
Hidden amongst mages of different caliber is a sigil of demons bound together by magic inside him.
