Sabertooth: Fall and Rise Empty Sabertooth: Fall and Rise

Post by Sabertooth 17th March 2017, 4:47 pm

All the clocks read the same time”... 11:55” a deep voice spoke as he looked over the town. A man stood on the the outskirts of town long brown trench coat, long blonde hair tied back into a ponytail, he stood watch and he could see that aside from the few night owl scattered through the Ace of spade and the Sabertooth guild hall the night was quiet and as normal as it could get. The clocks hit the next minute,”...11:56” he would say as the minute hand clicked from the Roman numeral five on his pocket watch to the first tick mark closer to top of the hour. all was still normal but an ominous squall not seen often seen flowed through the town and was gone within the minute. The clouds in that had been thick in the sky broke apart and started to reveal the starry night sky and part of the moon. “...11:57…” he continued while watching his pocket watch tell as the time passed by. The clouds began to circle around slowly starting to encircle around the moon in an extraordinary way, framing the moon funneling the light causing it it shine in a perfect circle around the town with the only shadow blemishing the the encircled city was the guild of Sabertooth which created a small shadow from it’s current height in the sky. “11:58” the man continued his count towards midnight not missing a single second of the count down. All the crickets and other creatures of the night went silent and flocks of birds sent flying away from within the town as well as on the border of the town. “11:59…one minute left” The man spoke in a deep voice and watched as the second hand made it’s final lap going clockwise. As it rounded the thirty second mark his eyes rose and looked at the town noticing the circle as well as the sudden silence “Looks like the sign of things to come.” He shifted his gaze down to his pocket watch just as there was only five seconds left, then four, three, two. One. the sound of clock chiming began ringing twelve times and on the final chime he closed his watch and let it drop into his pocket. “Midnight, Time for the games to begin.” and almost on cue the ground began to rumble throughout the area.

The seismic activity rippled throughout the entire town, buildings shook so hard that the structures of several buildings started to crack from the force while others were obliterated within an instant. Many homes, business establishments, and miscellaneous buildings eventually fell causing mass panic in the streets leaving debris littered all over the streets. However among the devastation the most notable sound was the sound of a loud crystal cracking. The Lacrima that was allowing the guild hall to maintain its altitude on the ground level shattered and as a result the guild castle in the sky began to plummet down to the ground below.

Sabertooth: Fall and Rise Empty Re: Sabertooth: Fall and Rise

Post by RyoKnetegawa 18th March 2017, 9:43 am

Ryo sighed as he sat in one of the few parks that the town that had been known as the “Ace of spades” had. He usually spent his time outdoors while the sun was down these days. However, he noticed the very strange weather that was happening and it made him look around cautiously. Gora the great white lupine slowly stood up his fur on ends snarling low in his throat. With no enemy in sight he burst with a flurry of ice, snow, and fur growing to his battle form looking vicious. Ryo was appalled by the ferocity of this transformation. It was as if someone was using magic that made nature itself stand up and take notice. Then again he looked up to the moon seeing that it was framed in clouds which forced the light of that silver beauty onto the town. Of course, the clouds that had rolled through the city appearing and vanishing in an instant were pretty unusual as well, but the ominous feeling that Ryo got from the moon was strong.

He looked up towards the guild hall his eyes wide as his heart thumped in his chest filling him with dread. The guildhall, that was the target, he knew it whatever this was it was targeted at the guildhall. He had to stop it, but as he tried to move towards the guildhall the whole world seemed to shake and tremble. It was too much and he dropped to the ground from the force, but the crack that ripped through the air was the worst. He snapped his gaze up to the guildhall as soon as he heard the sound of crystal cracking and watched with utter horror as his home, the home where he and Ian had lived, the home of both of his apprentices, and the place that all the guild masters he had served under had trusted him to protect. It was falling from the sky like a rock he gave a scream the first in his life. It was a scream of a vampire that ripped through the night as loud as a banshee’s Gora joined him by howling with such volume that it was impossible for anyone in Ace of spades not to hear it.

Yet, Ryo’s scream couldn’t last forever. Instead, he shook his head pulling out his cards throwing them on the ground face up so he could see all of them. He had to try and find one of his many spells that would help him and more importantly help the guild.

Sabertooth: Fall and Rise Empty Re: Sabertooth: Fall and Rise

    Post by Imai-chi 18th March 2017, 10:42 am

This night promised something entertaining, or so Imai had felt as he just had to arrive at the guild hall at that time. It was accompanied by other fellow mages, but the night gave a peaceful atmosphere with prompt to make less effort in doing anything, as if the night wanted people to rest. Imai could feel it too, but he wanted to feel a little grown up at the moment. He would most likely go back to being so childish like always afterwards, but this night, he wanted to stay awake and watch over the hall. Sei was soaring around people’s heads, while Imai felt contained with responsibilities.

“Sei…” he spoke in a mumbling tone, watching the alien buddy soar around with a careless mind, “… You’re right. I’m exaggerating things..!” He shook his head to try and retain his focus, well aware that Sei barely said anything to him now. He was already beginning to imagine things due to the night-over. He leaned back on the chair inside the hall to look up, suddenly feeling a very scary feeling. It was intense, as if something cracked through his skull, fright enveloped his sleepy mind. W-What’s all this..?, he thought, unsure of the actual reason behind the sudden change in expression. Perhaps he was just lacking some fresh air, that could be it. Calming down a little, he moved towards the window with Sei and looked out at the bright night sky… wait, a moment earlier, clouds had covered it. According to his knowledge about meteorology, clouds with this strength in wind wouldn’t move that fast; the brightness from the moon was also a strange factor to the phenomenon. That was when he heard the cracking sound… and just as it passed his ears, he felt air pushing his face up. “W-What now..!!!” he panicked, having the feeling as if the entire guild hall was… falling?! The entire place was descending! With that picture, Imai slapped himself twice to wake up, but it was no dream…

Next thing that crossed his ears while he found himself flying down from the guild hall’s contact was Ryo’s voice… Imai began screaming, too. It was a terrifying event. “SEI!!!” he yelled with all his might, instantly feeling the grasp on his back. Sei had grabbed his shirt from behind, while he landed quite heavily on his feet at the ground. A stain of blood was dripping off his forehead by the landing, but he had no time to complain about the headache. The entire hall was descending, and given by the cracking sound, it must’ve been to the break of that crystal which held it up. Sweating, he picked out his item and put it on the launcher. He had only used it once or twice before, but this time, he cared not about the bad outcomes. “Hurry, Pegasus!” he roared to encourage his attack, “Try and push the guild hall up for as long as possible!” While ending that line, he launched the Pegasus towards the position just below the falling guild hall, while it began spinning around a very large area. It began spinning faster and faster, creating a gust that would be sent up towards the guild hall’s complex. However, the strength and amount of gust was far from enough to completely save the hall and stop the descending, and the various other events happening around him were troublesome as well. Looking towards Ryo, he hoped for the upperclassman to find a way to stop the descending before time went, and if it required a delay from Imai’s weapon, then so be it.

Laying in bed with his large arm wrapped around Kenna, Mashyuu slept tight. It was the first good nights sleep he had gotten since getting his memory back, and for that matter for the first time since he came back from the dead. The man slowly nuzzled his head into the crook of Kenna's neck and smiled silently. The man would have stayed asleep too if the guild didn't suddenly rumble in a terrible omen. Glowing blue eyes shot open and he sat up swiftly, Mashyuu's head turned towards the window looking outside. The clouds were splitting and vanishing faster than he could process. "Shit. Kenna! Kenna get up and get dressed right now!" Mashyuu shouted while jumping out of bed and pulling his blue jeans and a white and orange vest on over his chest. He strapped his sword to his left hip and made sure his magical chain was hooked around his left wrist. The moment his boots were pushed onto his feet Itsu sprang into the room, dressed and ready to go. "Mash-" "The guild is falling, I know." Mashyuu grabbed Kenna by the hand and started to run for the center of the ground floor of the guild hall.

"I need both of you to get the hell out of here, find Imai too. Get anyone that can fly and help get the rest of the guild out of the hall. Itsu, work your way out of the bar and get anyone on the ground level as far away from the hall as possible. I can't stop it from falling but I can slow it down enough that I won't die when it hits the ground." Mashyuu ordered the women. Once he got to the center of the guild Mashyuu spread his hands and opened his palms. The stone on either side of him slipped open and led clean down to the ground so that anyone could just jump straight out of the hall and free fall to the ground below. "Okay, get going you two, I can't risk losing you." Mashyuu took his mountain stance and focused with all his might on the earth below his feet and started to pull it up with his mind. He fought gravity and started to slow the fall of the guild hall, just enough to start giving people the chance to get out. Itsu looked at Mashyuu with concern in her eyes but did what her friend ordered. She jumped down through the hole he made and free fell to the ground, the moment she was going to hit the ground she teleported and landed safely, then took off to start evacuating the city.

Sabertooth: Fall and Rise Empty Re: Sabertooth: Fall and Rise

Post by Roy the Chanter 18th March 2017, 3:45 pm

Roy had only recently strolled back in to his beloved guild hall. He picked up a nice bowl of soup from and a filled his flask on the way in. Normally he put hard liquor in it, as it was more efficient when he was traveling. But now that he as back he filled it with sweet wine. The flavor didn't mix well with what had already soaked in to his flask but whatever, it was better than what ever cheap whiskey he would normally put in to it. He sat near a window as he ravenously downed his soup. He sighed in satisfaction after he finished, it had been so long since he had had good food. But it was always that way when he traveled. He rarely ever took jobs that were close to home or in more civilized area.

Roy pulled out the flask and washed down his food with a few gulps of the wine. Not too long after he had satisfied his hunger and thirst did he begin to sense a disturbance in the air. A very literal, seismic disturbance, that cut through the air itself. The quake seemed to bring with it a sinister feeling that disturbed Roy. Whatever this was he was sure it couldn't be good. As Roy reached out a hand to the wall in order to steady himself he heard the sharp sound of a crystal being shattered.

He only realized what it was moments before the entire guildhall began to fall. The dropping feeling that came with falling great distances overwhelmed Roy for a moment. That horrible sinking feeling flooded his senses and made him unable to react for a moment. But soon he managed to get a hold of himself. He shook his head and started looking around for an exit, closest one was the window, and it seemed plenty big enough to let him escape.

Roy cast his smoke shield spell first, and then he charged into the window his arms forming an X around his face for added protection the window shattered and Roy was protected from the glass by his spell. As he began to fall he summoned his smoke cloud beneath his feet stopping him from plummeting to certain death. He was lucky enough to have magic that let him fly, but he doubted many of his guild-mates were so lucky. Roy looked around outside and noticed a man and maybe something else pushing against the behemoth that is their guild-hall. He doubted he would wind up doing any good, but he prayed for him nonetheless, perhaps he had a power strong enough to stop this thing. There was also the familiar Ryu at the ground level, his clothing and large animal companion gave him away. If there was a man in the guild with enough power to stop the guild and all of his friends from getting crushed it was him.

Roy knew for a fact he couldn't put a dent in this thing, his magic just simply didn't work like that. But maybe he could get at least a few people out, just in case the worst happened. He circled around the guild looking in the windows searching for people who needed help escaping the fall of their home.

    OOC:

If anyone actually can't escape the fall and needs help feel free to see Roy and flag him down.

Post by Aura 18th March 2017, 8:56 pm

Kenna's night had been like they usually were, with the only exception being the warmth Mashyuu's body gave hers as she laid dormant. Deep within her unconsciousness restlessness stirred however; for the impending danger that were to befall them, and the omen that would grant her a glance of the past. She knew not of these things, only that the way her dream had manifested that night was peculiar, to say the least...Darkness shrouded her. A soundless void she knew all too well; this time Kenna didn't wait for Akhator to show himself, and instead called out for him to appear. A flickering of light before a large flame appeared out of thin air and took the form of a large, flaring silhouette, with a voice that seemed like many spoke at once; deep but gentle.

"So you've come... what is it, child?" Akhator said, slightly distracted. Kenna, mentally rolling her eyes, looked at the fire god's manifestation and replied similarly. "That's what I'm supposed to ask you. Why am I here again after you having been so silent all this time? Why ignore me?!" She nearly shouted those last words, extremely frustrated that he'd been denying her the right to speak with him. "Don't be frustrated, I've had my reasons, child. There was also no reason for me to step in, so I just watched as you went, like any other caretaker would. I will not show myself unless you face utmost danger, and that hasn't been the case... until today. Something's stirring, my dear... and it's not just one thing. Your fate's about to take a turn I didn't expect to see happen... not so soon, at least." Akhator turned and headed towards the flickering blue lights that suddenly appeared in the distance of the dark void, entirely at ease while the sounds of murmuring whispers started filling the void. "Change is upon you, child, for your past will finally catch up with you. Tonight it will happen, but remember well; not all is what meets the eye. Do not be deceived." The flames evaporated as Akhator's voice still echoed through her mind. The whisperings in the distance grew louder at the same time, booming ad threatening as they turned into shouts and orders. Kenna heard her name being repeated over and over again; demanding her attention. Then, she fell into the darkness.

    - - - - - - - - - - -

Kenna's eyes opened instantly, her body radiating with a sudden jolt of energy and adrenaline as Mashyuu called her name. Once. By the second time she'd already thrown her legs off the bed and grabbed at the clothing dangling over a chair; and within moments found herself dressed in black skin-tight trousers, a leather strapped bodysuit and ditto jacket and boots. She threw her hair into a loose over-the-shoulder ponytail as she followed Mashyuu down to the guild's ground floor, feeling everything trembling as the guild started its descend and final fight against gravity. No-one had to be psychic to figure what was happening at this point; even the most oblivious of individuals could hear the roaring earth on the ground below them an make out that an earthquake was happening. It only needed a glance outside to notice this wasn't of natural origin however. Clouds had gathered around the moon, guiding its light to shine upon the guild as if it was a spotlight; while the screams of panicking people started filling the silence of night. Kenna swallowed a lump when Mashyuu ordered her to get out. She wanted to protest but knew better, and made a 90 degree turn, heading for the exit with a short sprint. She kicked the doors open without much effort, putting so much force into it she actually right out kicked the door out of its hinges and sent it flying into the depths of the town below. Itsu and she were to follow one another, but the Etherborn halted in her steps as a sudden faltering of her heartbeat caused her to grasp her chest. Her eyes flickered ominously while an unseen force pulled her towards a corner of the floating guildhall.

In the distance, a large shadow had been making its way towards the guild, a presence soaring the night sky. The fleeing birds and wildlife didn't bother looking at the shadow that crossed their path, too afraid of the happenings at Ace of Spades to care for the predator. Said predator however approached the falling guild and town in terror with fearful speed, picking up both speed and height as it halted high above in the sky, casting its shadow upon the guild. As it looked down, the massive beast's eyes widened as it stared back into a pair of eyes it hadn't seen in a long time. He'd finally found her again. The next moment, the giant dragon dropped itself into a freefall towards the guild, and landed forcefully upon the guild's territory, right in front of the owner of those eyes.

Kenna stared back at the large, silver-scaled dragon that towered before her. The large head drew closer, and its hot breath blew into her face as if it was sniffing her scent. The Etherborn felt the same stinging pain in her chest, followed by a burning feeling in her eyes; her pupil tore in two, revealing a red hue that spread across her entire eye, leaving her with an elongated pupil and crimson irises, bordered by a glowing edge. She saw them reflected in the dragon's eyes and noticed how it lowered its head even more, as if it was urging her to touch it. Kenna reached out for it, but lost her balance as a sudden tremor made the guild shake devastatingly. The earth crumbled underneath her feet, and before Kenna could get herself into safety she found herself tumbling down with the debris. Neither a scream of terror nor shout of surprise passed her lips as she fell down; only an extended hand towards the dragon, and an instinctive whispering of a long-lost name. "Avide." The large, horned dragon growled as it heard the name, and flung itself over the edge almost instantly, smashing through debris with its claws and powerful wings as he made its way underneath the raven-haired maiden, having her drop unto his broad back with a dull thud. As soon as if felt her presence upon his back, it beat its wings and removed itself from the guild, remaining floating in mid-air about 50 meters away from the plummeting guild while Kenna tried to crawl up to its shoulders to gaze upon her guild. There was no fear for the creature that had saved her life; oddly enough it felt like she'd known it since forever, as if she was reunited with an old friend. She whispered his name once more as she kept on staring at the event before her in horror. "Avide... Sabertooth has fallen. No. No it can't be." Kenna shook her head as Akhator's words echoed through her head reminding her of a simple detail. "Not as long as there are Sabers left to rebuild it. Avide, watch closely for anyone needing our aid!" She said against the giant dragon as they descended to a lower spot on the same level as the falling guild.

[[OoC: Same as Roy said, if anyone wants to hitch a ride, feel free to have Avide lower itself to get you unto its back. --He's linked in my signature if you want a description--]]

Sabertooth: Fall and Rise Empty Re: Sabertooth: Fall and Rise

Post by Itori 20th March 2017, 4:24 pm

Approaching to midnight, a night as any other in the bustling town called the Ace of Spades. People working late, people having begun the night shift, people who were enjoying themselves (and sometimes one another) during their free time before finally heading to bed to await the sun and the next day. Enough lights dotted the city to make it a beacon in the middle of the desert, its light visible even from far away over the horizon as it was no long hidden inside the bright sunlight. The moonlight, beautiful as it was, could only illuminate and paint everything in silver. And above that beacon of manmade lights there was a castle high up in the sky, floating as if straight from a story or legend, a castle containing magic and mysteries, wizards and magical creatures. The castle which was home to the renowned Sabertooth guild. For what purposes the guild hall had been raised off of the ground and hung there high up in the air one could only guess at (for the ones responsible for it had already disappeared), but that it was there was undeniable. Many wizards and magical creatures made that floating structure their home and headquarters, working together and completing missions for gains both mutual and selfish.

In one of the rooms of the large guild hall a certain woman was busy working. That room was the kitchen, and the woman was the Kitsune called Itori. It was this close to midnight, yet the fox was still busy as if it was the middle of the day. Itori didn't actually sleep very often, and got most of her rest through meditation and short naps. People with a long lifespan like her tended to either end up sleeping a lot or very little, and she wasn't sure what factors decided in which category you'd end up. All she knew was that when she was very young she followed the normal hours, but as time went on she felt less and less inclined to sleep, until eventually she at most slept half as much as most people. Of course, whether that was a good or a bad thing entirely depended on your perspective. Sleeping could be a source of comfort, satisfaction and peace, but on the other hand more time awake meant more time to do things. In Itori's case she supposed she liked the fact that more hours meant more time to cook. Itori's hunger was a thing of legends due to her rather unique metabolism, so she had to prepare a lot of food for herself (well, technically she could endure, but if it was possible to get the food she wasn't going to say no to the opportunity).

After so long of preparing so much food for herself Itori was a VERY good chef, and currently the kitchen was filled with all kinds of recipes and dishes as the Kitsune with the three tails moved about swiftly, those three silver tails trailing behind her even as she was careful to make sure that the long appendages didn't actually touch anything or knock anything over. Truth be told she should just hide them since there was no good reason to keep them out, but she was quite fond of her tails (as any Kitsune was) so she would rather just rely on her years of practice to keep accidents from happening. The air around her was filled with the scents of so many different dishes, the smells leaking out into the hallway and spreading throughout a fair portion of Sabertooth as Itori kept working. She already had plenty of dishes done, but the night was still young so there was still a lot she could prepare before she would get to the actual eating...

Itori's ears twitched and the Kitsune frowned, continuing her work even as suddenly her attention was drawn elsewhere. She moved slowly, more carefully, as she tried to figure out what she was hearing. The tune of the world (a strange phenomenon which so far as Itori knew was unique to her hearing) had shifted. The night had been peaceful, silent, safe. Suddenly however the world's background music had adopted a more ominous vibe. The music was building up, which meant that there was a climax somewhere in the near future. Itori still wasn't too good at using her peculiar hearing, so that was the most she could get out of it even though she tried to focus and sharpen her ears. Ominous, building up... depending on how strong the climax was going to be it would either be very soon or in about an hour or so, because it was building up too fast for it to be the build up for something farther away in the future. Something was going to happen... and it wasn't going to be pleasant.

Itori made sure to turn of all the stoves and ovens, removing all the unfinished food and storing them away while in the process eating from the already finished dishes. She would have to move quickly once the build up finished (she was pretty sure of that), and it wouldn't do to risk setting fire to the kitchen. It was a waste of the ingredients that she had already been using, but she wasn't so focused on food that she completely forgot what was more important. Of course, the important question was still what was going to happen, how soon and where...

At which point the climax occurred, and Itori quickly realized that storing away all the food and turning off all the kitchen appliances might not have mattered. The ground shuddered, as if the powers lifting the guild hall up into the skies were desperately trying to function, only for them to give in as Itori began to experience a sensation of vertigo. She quickly ran towards the nearest window, staring out and scanning the ground and the skies. It took a bit for her to be certain, since they were really high up, but eventually she had to conclude that they were indeed falling. The entire guild hall was.

Itori would have to think quickly. The guild hall was kept aloft by the lachrima placed in the middle of Ace of Spades. Considering its importance the guild and the town both kept a careful eye on the lachrima and made sure it wasn't in danger of failing. If it was failing something must have happened that broke it: whether it was a natural event or an orchestrated act Itori couldn't say. Regardless, either way there weren't many options left for her. She didn't have the ability to keep the guild hall aloft, and she didn't have a way to save many lives either. At best she'd be able to take a single person with her, and even then that would allow for the opportunity for something to go wrong. The Kitsune frowned as she gripped the sheath of her Shitenka. Unfortunate as it was, it seemed she would have to save her own hide and pray that the other mages of the guild would be all right. Maybe if she got down to the ground in time she might be able to do something about the lachrima, but that entirely depended on what happened. Either way, staying up here wasn't going to help.

Itori dashed through the hallways, heading for one of the courtyards that allowed the mages of Sabertooth to enjoy the night sky even here up high. As she moved her silver hair and three silver tails trailed behind her, the Kitsune constantly accelerating even as she saw her exit come closer rapidly. Slashing apart the doors Itori kept running into the courtyard, heading straight for the edge and then leaping into the open nothingness.

The guild hall may be falling, but with how high up it had started out there was still plenty of altitude for Itori to bridge before she would reach the ground. Repositioning herself so she was facing downwards as if diving Itori headed straight towards the ground, her silver hair and fur reflecting the flawless moonlight, making the Kitsune look like a streak of silver light herself as she shot towards the ground like an arrow. Once she got close enough to the ground Itori turned ethereal, her descend suddenly changing into several flowing movements before Itori was standing safely on the ground, putting her sword back in its sheath and exhaling before looking back up. It looked like her idea of combining her spirit fox abilities and swordsman skills had worked. From down here she could see the guild hall slowly falling down like a very artistic meteor. Although Itori frowned as she noticed that it didn't seem to be falling quite as fast as she would have expected. Maybe the lachrima was still functioning, or some of the other mages were trying their best to keep it aloft or at least slow its descend. Itori took a deep breath before dashing towards the centre of the Ace of Spades, heading straight for the lachrima that should be preventing this disaster to see if it was maybe something that could be fixed.

Post by JaffaArchfiend 23rd March 2017, 10:15 am

It had been far too long. Kiersa had been stuck in her wheelchair ever since she'd been allowed out of her bed by the guilds medical staff, her body slowly recovering and healing from the turmoil she'd put it through during that molten iron dragon attack against the Guild and the town that's taken up shape around and beneath the floating guild hall.

But now, she was finally given the go ahead to get up and out of her wheelchair. Of course she'd been going through physio and the like before hand, and the casts had all been removed, but there was something about the sensation of the last bandage being removed, her ability to move around freely restored to her that felt... good. If only because it meant that she could finally be able to walk away from the mountains of paperwork that had managed to come her way after the doctors had told the Guild Master that the blonde nuns hands were working again.

It seemed that the current Guild Master Kite had picked up on the habit of the last couple of Guild Masters that Sabertooth had gone through and "delegated" the work that they didn't want to do, passing it down to her instead. Given that Kiersa was one of the few constants in this Guild, it made some sort of twisted sense that she handle the paperwork for the guild. Although some of it was for purchases and products from various members of the guild that she didn't recognise... Some of the things they were spending jewels on sounded like they'd been made up by an over-active imagination rather than an actual thing.

But that was her current lot in life, least at the moment. "Perhaps I should personally meet the ones with the more... outlandish purchases, just to see if its a real thing or if they're being hoodwinked by eccentric salespeople." the blonde nun mused as she stood up from her chair, gripping the table firmly as the ground seemed to shake around her. She let out a slow breath before shaking her head a little. "Must still be a little unstable..." the blonde nun supposed before she looked out the window of her room and blinked.

"Why are the mountains getting taller?" she asked before she made her way to the window and looked out, groaning at what she witnessed. "Now what?!" Kiersa yelled before she jumped out of her window, muttering a quick incantation under her breath to call forth the Stigmata Flight spell, wings of holy light bursting forth from her back even as it began to bleed and her legs were paralysed as a result of the spells activation.

As she left the Guild Hall she could see that the Guild was falling to the ground below, right down towards the town on the ground. What had happened to the Lacrima that was meant to keep the hall in the air? Something wasn't right, and whilst Kiersa wanted to investigate, her first priority was to start evacuating the entire town. She saw some of the guild members heading for the center of town to start evacuations there, so the blonde nun started to make her way for the outskirts. The last thing they needed was the crowds bottle-necking the streets and with the way the Guild was descending, it was going to make a lot of damage... they had to get everyone as far away as they possibly could.

So you can throw me to the wolves
    Tomorrow I will come back
    Leader of the whole pack
    Beat me black and blue
    Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne

Taking in a deep breath, Ardere folded his legs as his armor clad body was perched atop the Sabertooth guild. He was specifically taking up residence above the quarters Kite had provided for him to stay in. After a night of drinking and reminiscing, the fire mage had grown tired, but his mind was restless. Letting out a slight sigh, he balanced the energy within his body, heavily relaxing. It was nice to chill at his old guild hall, the place he called home before he forged his own. His own home, family, and a new path to walk. But the guild before him would always be in his heart, hence why Infinity Hydra and Sabertooth were sister guilds. Staring off into the clouds, he took it all in. A slight smile crossed his pale lips, as the samurai could smell the almost flowery air. The guild and the city below it were magnificent, rivaling even Terra Ignis in his eyes, which was saying something. It's been far too long, Sabertooth.

But his calming experience at his first guild was cut short as he heard the ground below begin to shake. Standing up, his leather covered hand grasped the sword Clarent tightly. It felt and sounded like an earth quake below, but it was not threatening to the guild hall, until it began to fall. Diving inside the guild hall, it began to drop out of the sky. The sheer gravitational force kept him from moving much. But by blasting a dark corrupt flame from his feet, he was able to make it to the Black Sun, which was attached to the guild hall. Running through the hall, utilizing his flames to hi advantage. He dived into the wooden airship. Starting up the ignition, the loud humming of the engine was overblown by the sound of the rushing wind. Detaching from the guild hall itself, the dark ship piloted by the Fire King circled around with its immense speed, ready to pick up anyone in the hall who needed saving. In here, come on! He did not panic, he did not falter. But there was a sense of worry in the mage's heart. If they did not stop the guild hall from falling, a good portion of the spades would be obliterated by the shock wave. Gritting his teeth, the brown haired man prepared to make a move. He had no idea if it would work, but it was worth a try. He could not shake this eerie feeling that the crystal had been broken on purpose, as earthquakes were not common in Fiore at all. Regardless, his priority was saving the guild members and the citizens. Fortunately the guild hall was very high up, so they had some time, but not much. It came down to the wire.

Post by Cirven 29th March 2017, 5:33 pm

It had been a chunk of time since his last visit to the area that his old guild called home now, the Ace of Spades. He had just finished a job nearby and chose to make an appearance even though the time of day was not the best for surprises. He only hoped that his new choice of guild/crew would not drive a wedge between him and Kiersa. She seemed to be a lot more finicky about things but she was somehow his friend still even after the death of her best friend and his sister, Aayla. He wondered if the nun had gotten better yet because last he saw her she was bed ridden with her injuries, plus Fredrick was not on his side at all for showing up out of no where. He remembered causing Kiersa to hurt herself again to trigger her magic in order to stop the impending fight. He did not stat much longer after that because he felt that he was only going to cause problems.

This time was different though because he had new abilities and with them he could get around to finding Kiersa before getting found. Sure, it might look like he was sneaking in to cause some sort of scene but Kiersa could bail him out of that situation or at least he hoped she would. He even went as far as to have Zinnath doing her own thing while he flew his way to the guildhall himself thanks to his ability in electromagnetism. He could fly as fast as Zinnath could and maybe more with his new ability but he had not done it over a chunk of distance yet. This was the test to see how he would hold up and everything looked to be going well except for one thing. It was super boring!

He did not have much to do while flying over Fiore so he ended up turning his body in the air and took a position that looked like someone lounging out on an invisible chair. He wore all black clothing that seemed to compliment his now purple hair and even his dual colored(left eye is red and right eye is blue) eyes. He chose to wore black pants, a sleeveless shirt, a black coat and black shoes. This was his typical look and he went as far as to wear similar looking outfits most of the time akin to it. On his back was the weapon he had recently acquired made to fight against Gods. The Seven Weapons of Sin nodachi, the Date or Pride as the sin it represented.

He contemplated pulling the blade out from its scabbard and talking to the entity that was inside as something to do but he did not completely feel like talking to it just yet. He was still cautious about the entire lineage that came with using one of the weapons and did not want to suddenly deal with a voice in his head like he had to do in the past. So instead he just let out a sigh and flew through the air at quick speeds to his destination, starting to move around in the air as he moved forward as something to do.

He was closing in on the Ace of Spades but something was off. He was in the air but could feel the planet shake suddenly. Something wasn't right at all and it had something to do with the Ace of Spades. He increased his speed and arrived in the city quickly only to see that the floating guildhall had started to fall down towards the city beneath it. "So do we blame the contractors who decided to build a giant castle floating above a city or.." He joked to himself and possibly anyone who could hear him. He knew it was a serious moment but with how far away the fallen guildhall was he could take a moment to joke about the bad situation. He heard a voice cry out for help and flew down into the city where he found a woman stuck under a wooden plank that had fallen from one of the buildings. She was trying to push the plank off but couldn't. "Stay still. wouldn't want to take a bit too much off the top." He ordered her to do so as black electricity built up over his arms. Her face was pretty horror filled from the situation and seeing a floating man with dual colored eyes, barely hidden pointed ears and sharp teeth tell her to stay still as he seemed to be charging up an attack was not the best. Cirven used his black electrified claws to quickly cut through the plank to the point where the plank was nothing but a small piece of wood on her chest. She cautiously got up as Cirven took a step back to allow her to move. "I don't know what is going on but I bet if you are able to find a Sabertooth member they could tell you." She silently nodded but then looked at him curious. "Yo.. You aren't a Sabertooth member..?" He shook his head. "Not unless you count past outcasts."

With that said he flew back into the air to allow the woman to get around on her own. He was not hearing anything weird that made him think she would be in danger on her own so he didn't take the time to escort her. He then used his sense of smell to pick up on a certain scent that he had faintly caught onto earlier. He flew near to the guildhall, which he thought was a bad idea but figured there was worst times to do such a thing. He quickly found the now white winged nun who was flying near the guildhall and waved to her while also calling out to her. "Yo, Kiersa!!!" He flew towards her and then stopped near her. "I know this might not be the best time but good to see you are better. Still dislike your magic choice but not like I can hurt you anymore than you already have for using it." He joked with her a bit once he was close enough to talk to her without yelling. "What is going on here though? Its almost like you guys are being silently attacked by something because I am not hearing or smelling anything that would give off an attack happening...?"

Post by Luna Jaeger 4th April 2017, 12:33 pm

The gossamer filament of gray from clouds on high through the night-time sky was something of a comfort to amber orbs belonging to the eyes of the woman who walked the night-time streets of the town. Should anyone take time to examine her, they would notice a beautiful woman with silken curls of black to frame her countenance and fall to the mid of her back, yellow-hued irises focusing intently at the point of her short curved nose. Luna stands at a trimmed and lithe build with a height of five feet and eight inches, thin shoulders paired with vivacious curves and well-endowed physical assets. She wore a low-cut split dress of black hues with black-and-green raven feathers stitched in at the shoulders. When you took in a full look at her, regardless of gender, you would feel yourself inexorably drawn to her beauty. She took herself to the edge of the city, rather being alone on this night than spending it in revelry with well-wishers. The squall was a strange sight, but one that could be mostly disregarded, however what was to happen next couldn't simply be explained away, and that was why she was ready when she felt the tremors of seismic activity.

As buildings started to crumble, the black-adorned woman burst into flight to pass to the middle of the town in a series of seconds, her body shimmering with air along the outline as she passed through again with a quick and simple flick - bringing four townspeople out past the edge of Ace of Spaces - all within a span of seconds. Within the span of a minute, the Sky God Slayer had saved thirty townsfolk from crumbling, collapsing, and destroyed buildings. It was thanks to her magic and supernatural abilities that this feat of speed and magical power was possible - a fact which Luna was thankful for, as she could fly at high speeds and literally phase through the buildings. Otherwise, it would be impossible to mount the rescue as she had. Passing by another minute, Luna had evacuated anyone she could and now turned her attention skyward.

Even with the wind and air as her ally, Luna would see no way for her to help stop this guild hall from plummeting to it's doom. She couldn't see her holding it up with a spell or even with the power of her arm Susanoo. Luna was only a C-ranked wizard, some would say perhaps, but her nature wouldn't allow her to wimp out due to lack of experience. All she could do was give time, and that was what the woman would do. As she flew up to the castle, she spoke with urgency to those still inside or around. "Evacuate as quickly as you can! Get the townsfolk to safety! This castle is coming down and I'm not sure anyone can do a thing about that. I'll try to slow it down."

With that, Luna dropped down to below the castle and brought both of her hands outwards - the very air surrounding her as her eyes glowed with the flame of Limit Transcendence; black winds gathering and adhering to her palm as she levitated downwards to touch the ground firmly beneath the castle. She didn't have the time to charge up her magic for too long, so for a full moment, she gathered the dark wind into her palm - an intensity glowering in her amber eyes. Finally, a burst of cyclonic darkened wind rose from her palm into a black tornado at twenty meters wide at it's top - reaching up and spiraling to push against the base of the castle. Luna threw everything she had into the Tornado - a spell named 'Wail of Banshee'.

As Kanrya walked through the city to get to the guild she had been coming back from a job that had been finished, she'd been groped, harassed and just about tuckered out. But she had gotten paid and had even gotten a neat outfit. She had a cigarette sitting on her lower lip as she searched for her lighter lacrima and looked up nearly losing her cigarette in shock. Oh...wow, she stated in a soft voice before backing up a few steps. She had just joined the guild too...

A feeling of dread nested inside her stomach as she watched the descent. She was about to lose her home after she had just found it. That was when she felt a spark of determination that screamed at her that this wasn't going to happen. She broke into a run towards the guild hall hoping to find someone to help keep the guild afloat (in a literal sense).

Post by Zar Valarblood 7th April 2017, 4:16 pm

Zar awoke to the sound of his ear drums popping from what he only imagined was the air pressure rapidly changing, but how was this possible when they were suspended in air? "We're falling, but how can that be," he thought to himself. Quickly fastening on his armor and grabbing his sword, he bolted out of his room, scanning the hallway only to be met with guild members rapidly approaching his direction confirming his analysis of what was going on; the entire guild hall was plummeting back to earth. He used to shadows flickering along the walls to make his escape to the closest doorway so he could jump out from the doomed structure.

Once he made it outside, Zar noticed a couple guild members had already found their own ways to escape through various ways of flight or slowing down their descent to the surface. He was glad to see that many weren't in need of assistance and took to their example of jumping off the ledge. Zar's body warped into living shadows and his descent was halted, his body passing through the solid structures of the guild hall that protruded out to where he was suspended and passed him down closer to the ground. He quickly dashed down to meet it and plant his feet into the dirt, his mind wondering all the while what could have caused such a calamity to occur and knock his home out of the air. Whomever or whatever had done it would wish they had never lived once Zar got ahold of their throats.

Post by Velvet Skydancer 17th April 2017, 2:23 am

Theo wasn't asleep. Far from it in fact. He'd just been reading up on the history of Fiore, a country far different from what he was used to, and a country he would now reside in. But the dim lighting had left his eyes aching and sore, thus warranting a moment's shut-eye, but his mind was still racing; he'd travelled across the ocean, walked a considerable distance across the country, found a teleportation lacrima - thankfully the one he'd been looking for - and was now laid out in a bed in an inn that rested in a city floating literally thousands of meters above the ground. Tomorrow he would be asking to join an official guild. If that wasn't an adventure in itself then what was?

Then the gong came; Midnight. It was preceded not by further gongs to mark the hour, but instead by sounds almost deafening to the ear; cracking, metal scraping against metal, brick smashing against brick, shattering glass - it all came within the same instant as the very ground beneath his bed gave in and Theo found himself falling several feet down. His eyes shot open and it didn't take long to work out that he was dropping. In one slick motion he rolled off of the bed and hit the floor. The bed landed a foot away from him, shattering and splintering into pieces at it smashed against the stone flooring. Screams were adding to the chaotic sounds now as people awoke from the slumber to find themselves in what must have been their worst nightmare incarnate.

The young wizard had no time to think about the noise though; he had to find out what was happening and help these people however he could. He wasn't a part of a guild yet, but he felt it was still his duty as a wizard to assist the innocent. Using his body weight to counter the shaking ground as best as he could, Theo got to his feet and pushed his way to the now door-less exit. Even through all the din there was no preparing him for what he'd witness upon stepping out into the night air; entire buildings that he'd been admiring earlier were no more that rubble on the ground which itself was showing cracks that certainly hadn't been there before. He'd barely had time to take this in before he found himself running to assist a woman nearby who was digging through the remains of her home. Between the two of them they soon found what the woman was looking for - her husband, whom had been trapped beneath a wooden beam that had shattered his leg. With some effort Theo pulled the man free and, using his rapier, he created a make-shift crutch. But when they asked what they should do, Theo sighed and shook his head.

    "I...have no idea."

Post by Rai Chu 21st April 2017, 2:14 am

To say that Rai was fuming was one hell of an understatement. If there was ever a time that leaving this god-forsaken guild might actually happen, this was it. Who in the hell caused this kind of a commotion in the middle of the bloody night? Honestly, the lack of consideration was enough to make the Thunder Demon want to just blow the guildhall out of the sky and watch its members fall to their demise. Sparks flew from his cheeks as Rai stomped - well, it was more a stagger than anything courtesy of the floor moving around so much - across his room and burst out of the door, glaring daggers down the hallway towards the main entrance. He was about to yell and charge down the hallway when he realised that almost every other mage in the building was rushing down it already, and there were cries of confusion and panic. Sure the confusion was fairly standard in new members of the guild but this...this was something else.

The sparks subsided as the lightning mage soaked in this new information and, running on all fours, he sped down the hallway to the main entrance, skidded around the corner and out of the guild's doors before coming to an abrupt halt.

    "...Alya have mercy..."

Everywhere he looked there was carnage. Smoke was rising from the Ace of Spades as buildings collapsed in on themselves. The wind howled past his ears as the earth shook below his feet; it was as if the very world itself was coming to an abrupt end. After a few moments he realised he needed to act. Who was the guildmaster now? He hadn't been paying attention in all honesty. Whatever, he'd just go to the guildmaster's office and hope whoever it was would be in there. With that thought he began weaving through the crowds of people, slipping around ankles and between legs until he reached the door, slamming into it. It didn't budge and the impact nearly knocked him unconscious. He shook his head and stood upright, resting a paw on the door. "...ow...urgh...HEY! Anyone in there!?"

    Kite Wilhelm
Flames that were meant to protect now destroy.

The night was like any other night, it was slightly colder than most but other than weather changes there was nothing of significance going on. However for the Sabertooth Guild Master there was a slight change in his usual schedule for the evening. Kite was expecting a visitor during the night, his friend, fellow Guild Master and brother Flame Slayer, Ardere of Infinity Hydra. This was the first time since the incident with the Dragon that Kite had the opportunity to see his friend outside of a combative doomsday scenario and that was the real treat. However outside of conversing and eating they would most likely have a healthy sparring match much like that time at the volcano with much less lava and more fire. A standard standing lacrima powered clock in the far corner of the room was five minutes before the moment it would begin to chime in its usual pattern to mark the hour and it was within this time he was able to see the approach of Ardere’s air ship and watch it dock just below his quarters. The clock in the corner began to do its chiming thing but unlike usual chimes this clock was set up to make clock town like gong. ”This is going to be good.“ Kite said as he reached the door to exit his quarters when he felt something strange ripple through the air, like an pulse of magically charged air passing through everything in the vicinity that caused him to look out the large double doors that lead out to balcony that hung out so anyone could look at Ace of Spades down below. His eyes met with the clouds that had parted above and kept them focused there expecting something to jump into his sights, the cause of the sensations he was feeling but the only thing to really be noted was the sudden vibration he could see from his point of view right before the whole guild shook violently before the sudden upward force was felt and the sky and the clouds that were even with the guild hall zoomed up as gravity took hold of the floating castle and pulled it towards the town below. Kite fought against the upward force by expelling his flame aura upward to keep his feet on the floor so he could walk as a normal as he could. ”Did the floatation system fail?“ he asked rhetorically gazing out the window to see the obviousness that was the rapid descent of the guild hall. ”Shit this isn't good“ he said to himself expressing his opinion while doing his best to assess the situation but he then heard the sound of Ard’s airship spin up its engines causing Kite to look out the window once more to watch the ship zoom past his window. Kite ran as best as he could against the upward force to peer out the window in the direction the ship flew past to see that the Black Sun remained idle with Ard standing at the ready to bring people aboard. Acting quick Kite reached the lacrima that linked to various loud speakers throughout the guild to give the orders, ”Attention Sabertooth Members, as you can sum up we are in a bit of a situation.“ he paused remaining calm and collected for this to not cause anymore of a panic than what was already happening throughout the guild, he had to be the support of this disaster. ”For those who have a means to escape by your own devices do so. Those who do. Those who do not make your way to the south side of the guild the best you can and hitch a ride with Ardere on the Black Sun and he quick about it.“ he finished his sentence hiding the bitterness the best he could but the situation called for a really tough choice for him to choose. By this point Kite had already come to terms that there was no chance in reestablishing altitude which also meant the Ace of Spades’ destruction was imminent but there was one choice that could lessen the damage quite a bit. Kite reached for the communication lacrima and honed in on Black sun to relay Ard a message, ”Ard once the last member is aboard take off I will find my way off once I take care of something.“ from the other side of the the guild master's doors he heard the sound of something banging into the door followed by a violent shaking of the door with a small voice calling out from the other side. Answering the door and then looking down he saw the small guildmember known as Rai Chu. He went down on his one knee and looked at the small creature ”Rai, what are you doing here? You should be on your way to Ard's ship.“ he said to the rodent like creature but by this point it could be too dangerous for the little guy to go on his own. ”wait right here.“ Kite stood back up and went back into the room and grabbed his two weapons in one hand while scooping up Rai in his other arm and exited.

Once he was absolutely certain there was no one left in the guild and Ard had distanced himself and his ship full of members from the guild Kite was mentally ready to do what he had to do. Kite had his weapons strapped to his back, secure and snug he stood in the center of the courtyard of the castle with memories flooding his mind, almost reliving how he had gotten to this point, the friends he had met in this guild hall, his teams, his wins and losses and of course the Guild masters before him. Hika who perished at the hands of an ambush, Fred and Lynn who fell off the grid and Raven, the Guild Master who welcomed him in the guild, someone who he would always cherish and miss. ”I'm sorry to all of you for letting this happen.“ he said to the empty air that whirled past him as the guild kept falling despite attempts to keep it afloat or slowing down. ”but I know any and everyone one of you wouldn't hesitate to put the lives of People at risk.“ his eyes lost their sorrow filled expression and grew fierce full of anger as he let his blue flames wash over him lighting the night sky in bright blue that could be seen from ground level, searing the ground beneath him he gathered his flames into his mouth morphing it into a sphere that grew until the sphere of fire was in front of his face and Kite pointed to the sphere at the ground ”Flame Demon’s Raging Inferno!“ and with that he fired a large stream of flames into the ground pushing the scorching hot flames down and through the base of Sabertooth’s Guild. Stones melted as the flames tore through and out the bottom of the castle and with a readjustment to the position of his head, he looked up making the stream of fire tear up the side of the castle and into the sky. The stream of flames vanished and after a slight lapse in time from when freshly made incision through the castle an explosion erupted shattering the fortress’ at it’s base with flames spreading throughout every room in the guildhall. The debris and rubble rained down to the ground with Kite also plummeting down but unlike the debris, the flame slayer lit flames from the underside of his feet slowing his fall until he landed on the ground where the rest of his guild members were and let Rai down on the ground. Looking up into the air Kite threw his hand into the air releasing a stream of flames into the air to allow his guild as well as Ard's to convene at his location. The town was saved, his members were safe but the guild was reduced to pieces and was something that couldn’t be let go. “So Sabertooth actually fell?” a disembodied voice said to the group of mages. Instinctively Kite’s anger took control and his hand was already outstretched, and with that same anger guiding his feet it was around the man’s throat, ”I’ll ask you this once, if you answer wrong I let the guild have you. Are you responsible for this.“ Despite the pressure on his windpipe and voice box the man spoke clearly and calmly, “No, I am not responsible. However I was aware of the probability of your guild hall’s demise.” Kite inhaled and exhaled slowly, ”So you didn’t warn me? Any of us? We could have prevented this from happening.“ The man shook his head the best he could, “Sorry but this event was inevitable. Your guild’s fall is the final sign that the elders are to return. ”Elders? What the hell is an elder?“ the man pulled out his pocket watch and looked at it before showing it to Kite. “We have time to explain.”
After releasing the blonde man, Kite listened as the mystery man, now introduced as Nicklaus Flamel explained that he was tasked many years ago with defending human kind from the return of the elders, the five deities that were banished for the sheer fact that they couldn’t be defeated. They were tricked into an alternate realm called a shadow realm and the opening to the portal was beneath Ace of Spades. The earthquake that they had felt, the very one that caused Sabertooth to drop was caused by the Elder’s successful attempt in busting through the portal that sealed them in the shadow realm. There was time before the elders would venture through to conquer humanity due to the expenditure of power used to break open the portal but made it clear that they were coming.

Kite turned to his guild members, ”These elders destroyed our home and they sought to take us out along with the rest of life on this planet.“ He would point towards where the center of town was ”I say we take the fight to their home before they can come get ours.“ Nicklaus would smile and approach, “Had no doubt this would be the path you’d choose. The entrance to this shadow Realm is in the catacombs beneath the city. I can lead you there. Once there you enter you may proceed however you wish to fight the elders. Get ready there is no coming back until they are defeated.” and so Flamel would lead the group all to and through the entrance where the fight for their way of life would be waged.
