    Job Title: The Fourth Musketeer

    Rank: C

Player Requirements: C-Ranked Wizard(s) or Two D-Ranked Wizards. Light Guild / Alignment ONLY. No Wizard above C-Rank will receive the bonus XP reward.

Job Requirements: Thread must be 30 posts long. 250 Words per post. Must Defeat at Least Three Groups of Enemies and the Boss. After defeating three groups of enemies "STEALTH" becomes optional, and you may keep rolling; and avoiding the enemies that appear by hiding and using espionage within Townsend Mansion until the Boss appears.

Job Location: Earthland (Minstrel), LeBuque Town

Job Description: 'Musketeers' that's what wizards are called in Minstrel. Charged with keeping the peace in the entire nation, the Musketeers are an ancient organization that accept only wizards into their Ranks. Unlike Fiore; they do not have an organization charged with keeping their Musketeers in check; rather, the Musketeers, protect the civilians of Minstrel and are the official lawkeepers of the nation.

However, there is trouble afoot in the elegant town of Lebuque. It seems; some Dark Wizards from Fiore have managed to break into the house of one of the most famous nobles in all of Minstrel. Sir Townsend. They have taken him, and his entire family hostage; and have laid demands of 1 million jewels down or it will mean their death.

The Musketeers are all to familiar with Dark Wizards, but felt it was best to contact the Guilds of Fiore for help against their own natives.

Your mission is simple; infiltrate the Mansion and free the Townsend family from the grasp of the Dark Wizards from Fiore.

The Musketeers have assigned three of their very finest Musketeers to make sure it goes smoothly.

Their names are Atha, Atma, and Portha. Blonde, Red-Head, and Brunette; respectively. These girls are REAL lookers; but don't let that fool you. All of them are extremely skilled wizards, fem fatales; and use both Gun Magic and Sword Magic at levels that far exceed this Jobs requirements.

However, they are personal friends of Sir Townsend and his family; and will stop at nothing to help you free him.

Meet up with the Three Musketeers at the location that the Musketeers organization has told you they'll be waiting for you.

    Enemies:

Weak: Wind-Make Wizard x2 - Goes down in one hit of C-Ranked damage, or two hits of D-Ranked damage. Will target Lightning, Water, and Projectile Users first.

Normal: Earth-Make Wizard x2 - Goes down in two hits of C-Ranked damage, or four hits of D-Ranked damage. Will target Water and Wind type opponents first.

Strong: Summoner Wizard x2 - Goes down in four hits of C-Ranked damage. Or eight hits of D-Ranked damage. Will target Darkness or Light type opponents first.

Boss: Teleportation Wizard - Goes down in 10 hits of C-Ranked damage. Or twenty hits of D-Ranked damage. Will avoid anything less than a C-Ranked attack with an instant teleport without even trying. Will teleport behind you and attempt to use melee (hands and feet) strikes in combination with his teleportaton magics. Also may grab an item and warp it above your head to fall on you; or other tricky surprises.

Reward: A Green "Musketeer" outfit to wear when you're in Minstrel, showing that you are always welcome in Minstrel and are considered an official wizard there, just like you are in Fiore. 15k Jewels. Equivalent EXP of THREE Jobs of your Rank. May only complete this Job once.

These Ladies Mean Business Empty Re: These Ladies Mean Business

Post by SiennahBurke 1st September 2016, 7:48 pm

“What a mess,” Siennah sighed, rocking back and forth on her heels.

The petite wizard wasn’t exactly sure how she ended up signed up for this particular job. It was higher than her own rank, and took place outside of Fiore’s borders. Not exactly something to send a rookie on, right? Siennah had never been overseas before, either. Surely there was someone better suited for the job.

Behind her, a marble fountain babbled. A sculpture of four women, one facing each cardinal direction, each pouring out jugs of water was the main focal point. Apparently it was a pretty famous landmark, at least in Mistral. The best part about it was how easy it was to find, and how everyone knew where it was. So it was a pretty good choice for a first meeting spot.

Ah. Siennah was getting a few looks from the locals. He cheeks pinked, and the wizard did her best to ignore the glances coming her way. She couldn’t help it. She had little idea of Minstral fashion, and hadn’t brought enough money with her to get a change of clothing once she arrived.

Red didn’t seem to be an unpopular color for clothing. But, everything Siennah wore—from the voluminous sleeves of her dress to the styling and detailing on her vest—screamed ‘foreigner.’ Technically, the petite wizard’s clothing wasn’t exactly the most standard in Fiore, either, aside from a few places near Shirotsume or Hosenka. Even so, people weren’t in the habit of staringat Siennah in Fiore. It was starting to make Siennah nervous. Maybe she should have run into a store after all. Oh, but then she might miss the meeting if she wasn’t late…

She had options, but none of them seemed to be a winner over the others.

Siennah brought one of her pale sleeves up to her face, covering her mouth while she frowned. It was a nervous habit. How would she recognize the people she was supposed to be meeting with, anyway? One thing she knew was that another wizard from Fiore was part of the group, along with three Musketeers from the area. But, she hadn’t gotten any information on their names, or what they looked like.

Was she just going to have to wait around and hope that the others found her?

Fiore wasn’t looking too good, at least in the wake of this incident. Siennah supposed that was the price to be paid when passports got passed out like candy. Dark wizards went on a little road trip and caused an international incident. Hopefully this wouldn’t damage the relationship between Fiore and Minstral in the long term. Siennah hung her head, long sleeve still covering her mouth. The petite wizard almost seemed to sag, the maybe-imagined, maybe-real weight of this mission now hitting her in full force.

The wizard’s dark eyebrows knit together and she straightened her posture. Really, who had put her on this mission? Siennah made a mental note to have a word with that person as soon as she found out who it was. It seemed like she could never get into contact with the other members of Lamia Scale when she wanted to.

Post by Terith 2nd September 2016, 8:39 pm

Although the venture started off with a traveler's enthusiasm, the swordsman would hesitantly admit that this his first time in Ministrel slowly became an odd and obscure one. Though the city having a mid-century France vibe to it didn't seem to bother him, it was the slightly unwavering determination of the people to look him down as he walked was what brought mild disarray into his train of thought. It wasn't an issue on confidence, rather, it was something more akin of his habit to over-think things, and simply put, he was very much inclined to believe that the stares he was receiving were a mix of both welcoming and unwelcoming sentiments, both as an unfamiliar face and as a man with a matted piece of cloth for a hood.

Terith would try to his best to safely assume that because the townsfolk were on high alert due to the kidnapping incident, his general outlook was a little suspicious, after all. But thankfully his mild oriental fashion seemed to ooze a bit of doubt for the likelihood of him being a Fiore-bound wizard for the local men. Still, though, it didn't help that it was his first time there, his arrival perhaps going as low as being labeled with the dark wizards who caused the stir in the first place.

The swordsman felt his jaw stiffen as he shuffled past a group of musketeers whose brows knit at his initial appearance. One of them made a move to block his advancement with an arm, abruptly causing the swordsman to collide with his shoulder.

"Why in such a rush, monsieur?" the man asked, stroking his knotted beard as he did so. Terith bit back a rude remark, unwilling to draw the situation into further trouble.

"I've a meeting with a few important people." he began, directing a glare back at the man's judgmental gaze. "They'll be very disappointed if I'm late. I hear you musketeers are pretty peachy about your etiquettes."

The man raised a single, fine brow at this, a part of his lips tilting slightly into a frown of a dismay. "Oh, so you're meeting with one of our own, are you not?" he said, one gloved hand dancing over his sheathed rapier. His eyes visibly narrowed at the prospect, a voice laced in denial as if questioning his very presence there in Ministrel, "And which of them, pray tell, have decided to engage in a business involving a most doubtful sort of individual like you, hmm?"

By then, the other batch of musketeers had gathered behind Terith, they're pompous looking-expressions dwarfing their garments that were tailored to breathe in the sense of fancy and respect. Several blades tilted against his back, alarming his senses with a barrage of unprecedented malice, for reasons he couldn't understand across simple assumptions. His stiff jaw immediately shifted into a gritted teeth, slipping one hand down the smooth surface of his weapon that jumbled in its sheath at the action.

It seems the spirits were telling him to avoid drawing? The swordsman felt betrayed for a moment, until a separate blade ensued a cut across the first musketeer's face, nipping at his fancy curled mustache as it did so. The older man made a disapproving hiss, whisking his head back to realize the opposing force.

To his surprise, it seemed that person who brandished their weapon against him was none other than a similarly dressed individual, her smile a red curve that Terith couldn't help but feel intimidated of.

"Hold your grounds, Luis, the boy is with me." she muttered, twirling her blade in a impressive series of hand movements before edging it back into its scabbard as the aforementioned male turned to better face the new arrival.

"You never cease to amaze me, Atma. And what might a fine lady like you be doing in this part of town? Surely now, you're not here to simply meddle with a stranger like him!" he urged, fingering the now bald portion of his cheek. Atma would only bypass the man's statement and forge forward, ignoring the question for a second as she approached the swordsman whose expression showed a lot of unspoken questions.

"Oi, stop ignoring me, mademoiselle! OI!"

"Torian, I assume?" she asked, to which he responded in a rather awkward sort of nod, her strong feminine aura making him uneasy. Her serious expression seemed to lighten at that, outstretching a hand to give him a hard punch to his shoulder that, although it wasn't harsh enough to have wince, did take him by surprise, rivaling the strength of a fully grown man.

"You certainly took your time getting here, monsieur! I'm glad I spotted you on my way towards the mansion." she chortled, her laugh booming across the streets and drawing everyone's attention almost instantly. He tried to contain any sort of remark in response to it, fearing that he might stutter something out of his current character.

In lack of a reply, Atma simply proceeded to tell him of the current agenda as it was, taking his silence as a sort of agreement to further the conversation in a diplomatic way. "My comrades are gathering back at the mansion as we speak, although Portha took a detour earlier to go retrieve another member for our little coup d'état. One of our cartel has informed us that they spotted an unfamiliar figure over at the town square, so she headed off in that direction. I assume that they've already arrived, so we should head that way as well."

Atma's speech ended with a point as her heels clicked against the pavement, flipping her hair back as she passed by Luis who vehemently tried to ensue conversation with the woman, but all in vain. Her musketeer coat seemingly swayed as she walked, one of her hands beckoning him over to follow. Amongst the protests of the three male musketeers, it seems that their presences was so insignificant in the face of her, and the swordsman could only do so much but silently regard her with respect, his footsteps shuffling in her route albeit as silently as possible.

Had he not avoided from responding the way he usually did to a threatening backlash, then perhaps the following scene would've followed out differently. But as it was, it had been humorous enough to restore a bit of dignity in him, to which he was quite grateful for.

'Thankfully I won't be alone in this...' he thought, thinking back to the other individual that Atma mentioned and silently praying that they were someone he would feel comfortable with.

    - - - - Meanwhile - - - -

Strands of lush brown would delicately roll around her gloved finger as the woman scavenged the area for anything that would catch her eye. She edged a hand into her pockets to retrieve her dainty silver pocket watch, easing it open to gloss over the time as it was then. The cartels were not to be an object of mistake, as they did their best to retract only the most concise of information. And thus, the brunette musketeer dedicated her smile then to her informants, nearing the large fountain that boasted a magnificence in its design. Below the flowing waters was a small, feminine figure whose appearance gave off quite a different vibe, and it was exactly the type of person she'd been rooting for.

Approaching her calmly, the woman would catch her attention by uttering her name, having the said piece of information written out on a singular piece of paper that was taped unto the back of her watch. "You're Miss Siennah, are you not?" she began, tilting her head in a formal curtsy, "I'm to lead you back to Townsend Mansion for this evening, you may call me Portha, as my brethren have done." When she raised her head, her eyes seemed to shine with a sense of urgency despite sporting a calm expression. "We must make haste, however, who knows what kind of misfortune has befallen on the family?"

And with that, Portha's form would lead the way, slipping into a small street that would take them to their destination that sat on a high hill, overlooking LeBuque in all its majesty.

“Oh! Yes, I am. Thank you so much for meeting up with me. I really appreciate you guiding me while I'm on this mission,” Siennah smiled, taking Portha’s offered hand in a friendly shake.

Portha also gave an uneasy smile. It was good that the Fiore wizards were cooperative and at least polite. She had heard a few things about some of the more infamous wizards from that country, including some of those who were involved in the kidnapping at the Townsend Mansion.

Siennah followed Portha through the twisting and turning side streets. At least her small stature severed her well in that way. Portha knew the city like her own hand, and moved through it with a speed showing her familiarity.

They came upon the estate or, rather, the forest on a hill overlooking the estate, quickly. Portha’s green uniform blended in rather well with the lush foliage, leaving Siennah feeling a little too obvious for comfort in her own red clothing.

“We’ll wait here for the others, mademoiselle. Atha and Atma will be arriving shortly, if they have not arrived before us and are performing some reconnaissance,” Portha said.

The brunette Musketeer pulled out a few pairs of binoculars, seemingly out of thin air and then settled onto the ground to peer at the estate. Maybe if they were lucky, she’d be able to see something through the windows.

It had only been a few minutes before the sound of footfalls through the forest drew Siennah’s attention. But, Portha made a few easy movements with her hand.

“Ah, that must be the other Fiore wizard with my friend, Atma. I recognize the sound of her footsteps, but not the other set. Atma, this is mademoiselle Siennah, one of the foreigners who will be assisting us today,” Portha said.

These Ladies Mean Business Empty Re: These Ladies Mean Business

Post by Terith 8th September 2016, 1:20 pm

Though it had been brief in reality, the journey there seemed to have stretched on for eons to him, as if time was thinned out into a linear form that made his steps just a tad bit slower, if not from sheer uneasiness. The swordsman tugged at the sturdy white sheet that made his hood, pulling it over his eyes a bit as he trailed along Atma's shadow -a confident figure that never seemed to flicker despite rounding a corner, where the Townsend mansion awaited their arrival with several of its marble pillars visibly dwarfing their human forms through a clearing in the trees. He was left a little unfocused for some reason, unable to cast his eyes in any direction apart from the distance of his shoes from each other, each making a more doubtful kind of stepping sound every time he moved forward.

The problem he faced wasn't in the way he came to associate himself with a woman like her, but rather, he seemed to have funded most of his self-confidence elsewhere that night, funnily enough, and as a circumstance, there'd be nothing left to present to the musketeer apart from his uncanny silence. Strangely, though, Atma didn't seem to mind his lack of communication at all, as if she interpreted it as a formal response to the task at hand, and as much as he liked the idea, Terith didn't seem too keen on realizing how his disoriented spirit matched the vibrato of a serious person.

'Keep your calm.' he urged, heaving a long and steady breath before huffing it out, 'She doesn't seem to be the type to pick on you, so as long as you don't give a reason to, you'll be fine...hopefully.'

The girl would tip her head at that, nearly alarming him until she decided to usher him towards her in a gentle tone. It was a little too much for him to be thinking that she read his mind, but whatever.

Terith provided her a careful expression as she spoke, watching her blank stare gloss over with a tinge of emotion as she noticed two sparse figures wanning in the dark. "Just over yonder, through that clearing, I assume Portha will be waiting with the other wizard." she said, "Best we go greet them, no?"

    "A-aye."

Atma would only toss him a small smirk before ushering herself closer to the two, who've already seemed to have made out their presences from where they stood. Upon their arrival, he'd tilt his head to one side, spotting a woman with a distinct, oriental dressing style as he raced up the path, his female companion already ways ahead.

The red-head offered the other girl a small bow. "Grateful to be in your presence, mademoiselle." her eyes met Portha's in an unspoken message, the brunette responding in a light nod.

Atma shifted her attention back unto Terith as he eventually managed to stand by her side, puffing out a breath after managing the rest of the trail in a short span of time. "This fellow here is monsieur Torian." she stated, patting a hand on his shoulder that was akin to slapping it due to her explicit strength, "He's the other wizard we were noted of, so we've our party gathered now apart from Atha, who should be by the mansion gates at this point in time. We'd best be on our way." Atma swiveled around her heel to proceed downwards, her haste visible in the way she ran. "We've no time to spare, tally ho, my comrades!"

Porta seemed to share the sentiment, and immediately sought to brandish her guns whose muzzles shone with their brass linings. She'd take a few steps ahead before turning her head back to the other two, "Following the path you see now will take us there, I recommend using any form of traveling spell to get there faster. Otherwise, I hope you two can take a bit of a run, as this one will be relatively lengthy." she said before hopping off at her own brisk pace that rivaled Atma's in speed.

Terith rose a brow as the two scurried off, pausing for a moment with a lack of any substantial response to the situation, only ever deciding to offer his hand in a small handshake towards the woman in the red garments. "Miss Siennah, right? As they've said, call me Torian."

Her aura was a lot less overwhelming for him in comparison to the two other ladies, and thus it had been easier to roll his tongue a little with a small greeting. The swordsman didn't seem to be bothered of whether or not she'd return it, since she seemed polite enough to share the gesture, if not for a small measure.

Post by SiennahBurke 12th September 2016, 11:09 pm

“Oh, thank you. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Torian,” Siennah said, bowing slightly at the waist and then shaking Terith’s hand, “I don’t have any travel magic, so it looks like I’ll have to get going the old fashioned way.”

It seemed a little early to break out the magic, especially considering that Siennah’s enchanting talismans wouldn’t make that much of a difference in a situation like this. Using one just to increase her running speed seemed like a waste at this point.

The paper wizard waited for a short time for Terith’s reply before she ran after the two Musketeers. Siennah wasn’t as athletic as the other two women, but managed to meet up with them closer to the mansion proper.

By the time Siennah arrived, she was gasping for breath. But, she had kept running the entire time, so there was that minor victory. No doubt, Torian was in better shape than her. A life full of reading did not make for a quick runner. It didn’t make for a strong body, either. Siennah made a mental note to start a workout routine as soon as she got back to Fiore. Maybe she’d join a gym. Or get a trainer. Or advice from the Musketeers, maybe.

Siennah switched from looking at Terith and the two women they accompanied. Was this mission supposed to be mostly the responsibility of Torian and herself? Oh dear.

“If mademoiselle and monsieur could attract the attention of the culprits within the manor, the rest of us can assure the safety of the hostages. I do not doubt you will find resistance in the manor regardless of any plan we devise,” Portha said, coming to a stop just before the gate enclosing the manor’s private gardens.

“But, if anyone has another idea, I would be pleased to hear it,” she said.

Post by Terith 16th September 2016, 10:46 pm

The woman's response to his greeting was a little uncalled for in terms of his overall status, what with being an ordinary man with a sword whose being didn't need a bow or a polite manner of address, anyway. But Terith was still visibly pleased with her gesture, as if a feeling of uneasiness that he'd been housing for quite a while seemed to disperse indefinitely thanks to her soothing presence, something he'd compare to a gentle breeze if he was poetic enough to do so. Sadly, he wasn't. Nevertheless, he was almost inclined to stick with Siennah for the entire duration of their scuffle if she'd allow it, though he'd be worried if the lady would start thinking of him as ill-mannered if he suddenly started invading her space with no spoken intention.

Instead, he settled for a simple nod, hesitating with his smile only because he took far too long to think of a proper reply, since he'd only manage a few words before Siennah scurried off at her own pace towards their objective at the foot of the slope.

"Please, just call me Torian..." he said, bits of his voice dwindling into a whisper as he watched her figure disappear down the trail. He huffed a sigh, shoving his hands into the spaces in his pockets as he mentally cursed his dull communication skills when it came to the other gender. What was it that made his character so inefficient in that regard?

As he ran, he faintly remembered a feeling of being constantly meddled with back in the day, where the world he revolved in where composed of two girls and four brunette braids. His brow furrowed at the thought, nearly putting the blame for his fear of femme fatales on his sisters if it weren't so trivial in the face of the task that they had to accomplish -and the actual weight of it eventually dawned upon him as soon as he reached the curly brass gates that towered over his measly presence.

Portha would only shift her attention to them from the mansion that loomed in the horizon to propose their first line of action, urging the swordsman to raise an eyebrow, surprised that the girls were favoring the two foreigners to take up the offensive. But perhaps the folks would be better off with his faces they knew, anyway, since the family might perceive them as threats rather than saviors. So the boy simply refrained from voicing out his surprise, and instead vowed to take their part of the job with a serious tone to his actions.

"...I've no problem with it." he said, looking back at the Townsend household that seemed to draw his attention far beyond its intricate gardens and large windows, deep into the heart of the crimes. "We'll take great caution to....e-eliminate the threat, miss." he stammered, briefly wondering towards Portha's edgy gaze that started making him a bit tense.

With a sharp inhale, he'd face her expression head on, showing her a bit of his conviction for the following matter. "We'll do our best." he said, slightly tilting his eyes unto Siennah for some sort of approval to his statement.

“Yes. We’ll do everything we can,” the dark-haired wizard confirmed, nodding.

She looked over the estate, its curling, shining fences and the delicate landscape of its garden. It was a shame that something so awful had befallen this place. At least, at the very least, the Minstrel Musketeers were there if Torien and Siennah failed. Siennah twisted her hands in the fabric of her dress and long, red vest. Could she really do something like this? Was she really capable of something so important to someone else?

“I suppose we should be going then,” Siennah said to Terith.

“Any advice on an operation such as this?” She asked the other Fiore wizard.

Siennah assumed that she and Terith would have to get moving first, so they could provide cover for the Musketeers. The black-haired woman had never been in a fight with another magic user before. Honestly, she could feel the anxiety building up in her hands and the clench of her jaw. Could she do it?

Biting her lip, Siennah swept her gaze over the back of Portha and Atma’s heads. No. There was no way Siennah could let down these people. It wasn’t just the Musketeers, it was the fact that they had trusted Fiore’s wizards to take care of a problem of their own making. Or, at least caused by the lack of background checks when issuing passports.

But, she could die. The fact of the matter finally hit the dark-haired wizard. The people that were inside had no problem holding a family hostage. They probably would have no problem killing someone like Torian or herself if they got in the way. And. Oh.

A small wave of nausea brushed over the petite wizard. No. She couldn't do this now. And where was the third Musketeer? Maybe something had happened to her. Siennah couldn’t just stand there and get sick.

Siennah pulled a few talismans out of her pale sleeve, going over them as she waited for any advice from the Musketeers or Terith. Speed. Defense. An increase in healing, or attack strength. Which would be the better choice?

Post by Terith 18th September 2016, 8:17 am

Hesitance, for a lack of a better word, was the first thing he saw from he stood, a few steps from the lady in red, just close enough to watch her eyes turn a shade darker under the Ministrel moonlight that dyed everything pale white. It was an expression that he was well acquainted with from his earlier ventures, where the fights were grittier and less refined, rough like the underside of his scarred palms. Siennah was in that sort of bubble as well, he'd assume, enclosed in her own doubts from her lack of experience and inconsistent thoughts lingering over her conscience. Failure was something common to fear among the more recent wizards, and it didn't take a genius to make out the spirit flickering behind the lady's irises.

In his attempt to quell her distress, the swordsman made a move to pat Siennah on the shoulder, as gentle and encouraging as he could manage, just enough to catch her attention and help her realize that he existed and that the battle wasn't something she'd have to endure alone.

"Miss Siennah? You seem awfully tense..." he started, wondering idly if he should have addressed her without the honorific. Awkward as it sounded, Terith felt little loss for being blunt at that point. "I understand that it may seem daunting that it'll be just us who'll be handling them, but we've got each other in that regard. And...well...I'm prepared to vouch for your safety even if it means getting hurt in the process."

Tilting his head, the blonde would flash her an artless smile, mildly embarrassed at what he just said, but it was an expression that was almost entirely born from an attempt to lighten the burden Siennah might have been housing prior. Perhaps the approach was too direct, or his words too pretty and doubtful? He wouldn't know. But he secretly hoped that it was well-received, at least. He'd later spy some interesting looking papers in her other hand that Siennah produced from within her sleeves, and he'd crane his neck a little as if to take a better look at the writings that was scribbled over them.

But then, he'd catch the shine of a metallic object from the edge of his vision, briefly breezing through the space from an unknown origin at a hasty pace. The silver line of light would later yeild in its tracks in Atma's hand as she acted quickly enough to catch it in a single swipe. From what he could tell, it was a small, yet intricately designed dagger with a note attached to the handle. The red-haired musketeer tore through it's bindings easily, her eyes skimming over the small note's contents before crumpling the parchment beneath her boot.  "....Atma has found the hostages." she said, her jaw stiffening as she did so, "But it seems that some of them have shown signs of visible torture. Young mistress Heidi has been seen with a large gash across her back. There's a possibility that she might die of blood loss."

Portha rubbed a gloved finger across her temple for a moment, her shoulders rising in a sigh as she opted to reload her guns with several pale blue bullets. "We've come to the worst possible outcome, then." she said, her steely gaze settling on the two foreigners and beckoning them to forge forward with their plans with the way her voice seemed to soften a little, almost as if the woman was entrusting them with a responsibility fit for only the best of the best. "We're leaving it up to the both of you to create the diversion we need to be able to infiltrate the rear end of the mansion. I trust that both of you will manage this efficiently."

The brunette approached the two on quick steps, her boots making no noise despite her urgent pace. "However, this does not mean that you will fight alone." she said, "Me and Atma will manage the rest of their forces that have littered the area near the hostages, so you need only face their front lines that guard the main entrance."

Sensing that their operations would not continue lest they make their move, Terith responded with a nod, one hand thumping across his chest as a mark of approval. The other hand were to gently circle Siennah's wrist, urging her on with him in a brisk run as he pushed forward into the gates that had clicked open upon their arrival. No doubt a work of the other musketeer who had not been there to greet them. Portha would simply sign them off with a salute, whilst her compatriot, Atma, regarded their retreating figures with a confident grin.

"Sorry in advance if this might be too much for a lady like you." he spoke as he tugged her along, unsheathing his weapon and having the faint shimmer of blue particles quiver around his legs, "But it seems every second counts now, so here we go!"

In one swift motion, he'd usher Siennah close to his figure, hoping to the gods that what he'd do would work and that it wouldn't just leave the ebony-haired woman all alone in an open space. Closing his eyes, the boy would pray out to the outline that began to fill the spaces in his head, and though the spirit's expression seemed empty and forlorn, the request was deemed well-enough for consideration. And with Danzo's approval, he'd begin to feel the shift of energy to regard both their forms as one individual for that one singular moment.

"You might want to close your eyes, miss." he mumbled, a burst of blue making their forms intangible for a brief second. Then, ultimately, the distance that would've initially taken them quite the run was significantly shortened as the two disappeared from their initial location, only to emerge from an entirely new location ten meters away. The swordsman would sigh in relief as he realized that it was enough to have them just a few inches from the threshold of the mansion, where several dark wizards were busy munching on their dinners.

Fortunately for them, there were some conveniently large potted plants that lined the entrance that was enough to hid them both.

"Um...Are you alright?" he vehemently asked the girl as they settled from the teleport, scratching his head as if to apologize for his abrupt decision to cast a spell at such a random time.

Post by SiennahBurke 19th September 2016, 12:35 am

“No, I’ll be alright,” Siennah replied.

“If I can’t handle this much then…” the dark haired mage left that thought hanging, and didn’t bother to finish it.

Instead, the petite mage closed her eyes for a moment. The text and glyphs on the paper in her hand glowed for one quick moment before settling into a low thrum of magic. She pressed the Talisman into Portha’s hand. How ironic that this was a task better suited to a doctor. Siennah made a face, just for a moment, that revealed the bitterness in her thoughts. It wasn’t towards the Musketeers, the hostages, Terith, or even the dark wizards responsible for this mess. No, it was further back than that.

“If you can get this to the young lady and place it on her, there is a good chance it could stabilize her condition for a short time before you can get her treatment,” Siennah said.

Portha accepted the strange paper, tucking it away in her uniform.

“Thank you, Mademoiselle. If it can reach her, I’ll see it done. Oh my honor. Now, go. We have no time to waste,” the brunette said.

Siennah nodded in agreement, just as Terith took her by the wrist and pulled her closer for his transportation spell. The petite woman didn’t have time to respond, her mouth only opening in surprise as the magic took effect. Lucky for the wizard, she blinked at just the right moment, spared the jarring sight of suddenly disappearing and reappearing.

Her form was then hidden behind a bountiful flower arrangement inside a giant pot large enough for Siennah to crawl in. Her eyes shifted back and forth, taking in her new location. Yes. Alright. Thank goodness the paper-wizard didn’t suffer from motion sickness or anything similar. She pinched her lips into a thin red line, nodding silently towards her fellow mage. As she did so, the manor’s elaborate gate creaked inward further. The groundskeeper must not have been permitted to oil it while he was a hostage.

Three others looked up from their meal. Judging from their position at the front door, they were some of the dark wizards keeping control of the manor.

“Hey, did you two just see a couple of people?” One of the dark wizards asked, standing up and turning his attention to the gate.

He could have sworn he just saw two suspicious-looking people at the front. The gate was even still moving. So where did they go?

One of the other dark wizards also stood, placing a small bottle of beer on the stoop with the rest of their dinner. Then, he joined his comrade in taking long steps towards the gate.

Siennah waited behind cover, heartbeat hammering in her ears. If those two were going to investigate, then maybe she and Torian could get lucky and take the opportunity presented by their turned backs for a surprise attack? It didn’t take a tactical genius to figure that out. She and Torian were out numbered at that point. So if they could at least get rid of one of them it could even the odds.

The dark-haired woman couldn’t tell how good Terith’s vantage point was, and excessive talking would give them away. Instead, the petite wizard held up three fingers. Then she curled her ring finger back to her palm, showing Terith two fingers and then making a walking motion and pointing towards the front gate. Then, she showed the swordsman one finger and glanced back towards the front door, closest to them. Maybe he’d have a better idea of who to take care of first?

In any case, those dark wizards looked far more battle-experienced than Siennah. She wasn’t much of an offensive wizard to begin with. So, perhaps, it was a better idea to make Torian’s magic more effective.

Siennah’s slender, pale hand went back into one of her sleeves, and returned with another slip of paper. There was a small outline of a human form on the side facing Torian, which briefly showed an impression of armor that then degraded. She looked at Terith, and then swept her sights slowly over the three dark wizards. Hopefully the other mage would get the idea and give her a target. Her only other idea would be to slide an origami soldier closer to the remaining wizard at the door and take care of him before the others noticed.

Post by Terith 23rd September 2016, 7:15 pm

"Alright," he whispered, the words but a soft and low mutter against the evening noises, "I'm glad that didn't disorient you."

When the man whisked his vision back towards the mansion threshold, it occurred to him that the little commotion that their entrance caused didn't seem to go unnoticed, much to his dismay, but regardless of his wasted efforts, he was still internally satisfied that their situation was granted convenience otherwise, though the piece of greenery that he stood behind was a little too prickly in his opinion -having a bunch of textured leaves scratching roughly against his blazer wasn't a very pleasant feeling, honestly. But, as his priorities would dictate, it wasn't something he'd consider dire, not as much as the men whose beer bottles clamored noisily as they hurriedly scanned the area for any sign of them.

Terith visibly scowled as he shifted into the space even more, irked that he had to endure his current position, but even more so at the goons who decided it was 'fun' to involve an important family in their schemes whilst they wasted away on the mansion porch. Had he not favored stealth, then the blonde might as well charge in blindly in a heartbeat, having no patience to deal with men of their devising. But the swordsman would simply breathe, the huff of air but a thin settlement to appeal to the notion of calming down. Under his hand, his sword would tingle lightly in it's sheathe, no doubt being his spirits exhausting a bit of their energy to remind him that it was no time to start lighting his fuse. Strategy had been his voice of reason from day one, and it'd be unwise to betray his cause for even one instance.

Opportunities came in a number of ways, of course, and when the two other wizards were decidedly stupid enough to leave their post to investigate the gates, he knew that their's was closer than they might've thought. Terith offered Siennah his full attention as she noted the current situation with a set of choices, his watchful blue stare eyeing her fingers as she presented them two possible ways of interpreting the current circumstance. He'd weigh out the outcomes in his head in response, rubbing his chin as he muddled through his thoughts, flipping the options like they were coins in his pockets.

The swordsman worked his pale fingers over the handle of his blade, stretching across the fabric webbing before settling beneath the hilt. Gently, he'd reveal the metallic sheen of the weapon underneath, shifting his eyes to the two wizards whose backs were left unguarded to any ambushes. Terith would adjust his form a bit, as if to further ready himself when push came to pull and he'd have to retreat from the leafy bastion in a hurry, only to sense a strange being beside his that had him tear his focus away from the two who positioned themselves at the curiously opened gate.

He'd stare at the figure from his spot with a furrowed brow, perplexed at the shape that mimicked a fully armored man, but it didn't seem human judging by the pale white material that made its limbs. Seeing as the lady beside him offered no sort of hesitation in it's presence, he concluded that perhaps the odd structure was of her doing. The blonde briefly wondered what sort of magic she obtained to accomplish such a feat, and idly resolved to ask her later when all was said and done.

Accordingly to her actions, he assessed that she was opting for him to choose her target as her eyes waned back and forth between their targets. The choice slightly unnerved him a bit, as he wasn't at all the type of person to decide things like these, considering he himself was indecisive and far too humble to think his inputs were reliable enough to be taken into account. But Siennah obviously trusted him with this kind of responsibility, and hesitant as he was, he didn't want to mar that sort of conviction with his lack of confidence. With a sigh, he'd regard the choice with a pat to her shoulder, his vacant hand pointing a thumb back at the idle wizard who lazed around drunk as he gobbled on some potatoes.

Though his grin was small, he hoped that it was enough for her to see that he was much more confident in her abilities more so than he was in his, and that she could definitely handle the lone dark mage with whatever sort of trick she had up her dainty red sleeves. His sword would later catch an inkling of light as he further edged it out of its casing, tilting his head to the direction of the gate. The way his eyes moved suggested that he'd manage the other two, and he'd only silently hope that their game of mixed signals wasn't all in vain.

These Ladies Mean Business Empty Re: These Ladies Mean Business

Post by SiennahBurke 4th October 2016, 5:47 pm

Siennah pulled the talisman close to her lips, breathing life into the magic. A sharp, whipping breeze pulled at the paper, catching it like a sail and whirling it across the space between Siennah and the last guard at the door.

The guard must have figured it for a piece of trash or debris. He didn't give it a second look until it attached itself to the front of his shirt, and glowed a dull blue.

"The fuck is this?" the guard staid, standing and dropping his beer bottle.

Then, the petite wizard stood. Now, even the giant flower pot couldn't hide her. The flash of red fabric drew the confused guard's attention, and he opened his mouth to shout. But, the moment of hesitation between informing the other dark wizards about either the small wizard or the paper thing on him cost him precious seconds that Siennah kept her focus in.

One golden-brown hand drew a delicate whirl in the air, and more paper flew out of Siennah's voluptuous sleeves. They twisted in the air, compiling into a white spear. Creases dipped into the end and along the spear shaft and point. Twisting scrollwork details flourished into existence just as Siennah let the spear fly.

The combined force of the spear and the lowered defense hex on the dark wizard sent him flying backwards, into the front wall. Glass bottles clattered to the ground, rolling away from the guard.

Siennah kept her hearing focused behind her, hoping that Torian was able to handle himself with the other two dark wizards. At least…that was what their hand signals had shown he be doing…right? It occurred to Siennah just then that the pair from Fiore hadn’t actually decided on a hand signal system. Oh dear. Hopefully Siennah hadn’t just messed up the entire plan with her assumptions.

Even if she had messed up, the black-haired wizard hoped that Torian was smart enough to make a choice after seeing what actually happened. He had more experience in such things. Still. Would he really be alright if it was just him against those two?

Siennah’s lips pursed into a thin, red line. She’d just have to take care of this quickly and then join Torian as reinforcements.

Post by Terith 16th October 2016, 6:17 am

Terith took to her successive actions with a sense of initiative, sensing the urge to adopt to the flight or fight response that had been familiar to him all these months. The click at his waist were to be his weapon being fully exposed to the space, its sheathe now an empty housing as Kushinada's ecliptic, silvery length prodded neatly through the leaves that crawled up his arm. With Siennah opting to make her stand from their decisive hiding spot, his figure would all but ebb into nothingness, consumed through a fizzle of his magic before erupting in a blur of blue, just a few meters behind his two unsuspecting targets. He'd bend a little at the knee, twisting his arm back and digging his grip on his blade beneath his chin, where the action allowed him to spare another brief casting of Danzo's mercy, albeit with a gruff grunt from aforementioned spirit.

At his call, a secondary spirit would beckon forth, weaving his respective energy with a fond smile and a hazy pair of eyes that were glossed over in slight surprise. Souji hadn't seen the Chronicles in a long while, it seems, his existence fleetingly expressing signs of gratitude at his vessel's move to summon him, however not verbally. And the notion was more than welcomed in that moment of hesitance, just a few seconds before the men swiveled their heads his way.

    "Did you just-?!"

Their reactions were the sorts to bluntly showcase the shock up on their placid faces, several spells whizzing up their bodies like rocks paving through a surface. Along the stretch of their arms, a pair of skillfully made boulder cannons slithered across their skins. It was easily agreeable that their aims were atop his blonde mop with the way their spells were cast, large chunks of earth hurdling towards Terith's advancement. As a precautionary measure against the whizzing stones that threatened to beat him blue, Terith deftly pried his heels from the cobble stones through a puff of silvery wind, where his body would linger above the two wizards at a good height. Rolling over the skin beneath his left eye was the mark of the wind glyph that he'd have activated several seconds before, buzzing in a particularly eye-catching blue glow as the oriental letterings punctured deep into his skin, sending a gust through his limbs that allowed him to soar, although slightly.

His opponents clicked their tongues at his form retreat, knowing fully well that their rocks were made far too heavy to reach that specific distance at their given angle. As if to compensate, the two would unload their barrels, several thick portions of earth falling from their arms. Curving them backwards, the wizards resulted into a joint attack that involved a chain of briskly moving pebbles, nearly resembling bullets if not for their clumpy structures. They'd fire at him steadily, chugging their spells at the swordsman with frustrated grits as energy in Terith's gusty glyph provided him enough to freely dodge their antics.

It was more than simply adapting to a fleeting floating action, actually. The blonde would flip one way, and turn a second next, and all the while, his figure would only sway from one point to another with the energies of Danzo throbbing vividly at his movements, a curiously serious expression brushing over his features. Though it may have seemed like a shallow attempt to fool around, Terith was no man of impractical whimsies -even then, he had a clear objective in his mind that he vouched to follow until the very end.

And this little ploy of his would dot on, as if it were eons before the clamor dispersed into grunts of pain.

The cannon sounds began to dwindle, softly, into a silence that allowed just a bit of a cracking, urgent noise as the wizards lowered their arms. Stiffly, they'd grasp at the rocks, each one portraying an irritable expression as they both realized that they nearly consumed most of their ethernano on shooting alone.

"...Bastard!" came the gruff tone of one mage, clawing at his arm that began to stung with its extreme usage.

Terith bore the man a gentleman's smile, twisting his arm back as he positioned two ghost blades behind either of their collapsing figures.

"Big words from bigger bastards, I see." he spat, snapping his fingers as if to motion his spare swords forward, attacking their blind sides with a generous amount of screams that were generated from a sharp, immediate pain slithering up their spines.

Suddenly, the wind blew strong and the walls explode and crumble. A blur of emerald swings in on a chandelier before landing on a walkway above the main battlefield. With a swish of brown hair, arrows started flying at breakneck speed, literally. The arrows embed themselves into the necks of those who were the enemy. A hooded figure, garbbed in emerald, wielding a bow of ironwood, three arrows nock all at ready. A lock of brown hair could be seen. It seems to know what it was doing as it came face to face with some of the enemies. Haia gave them the first one a kick over the balcony and pushed the others behind, making them fall like dominoes down the stairs. She looks down, not that Terith could see her face but she could see his and his ghostly blades. She smiled. She was reinforcements.

"Cheers, the calavary is here, well actually just me," Haia said before jumping down upon two mages that were recovering and landed on them, boot to the face. She strolls towards Terith and holds up her hand. "Haia Illie Starstruck, pleasure to meet you, I'm here to save this family along with you, if that is what i believe is true."

The strong scent of blood almost immediately caused the wind around them to thicken, more likely to be mistaken as the heat of battle slowly rising above them as tensions grew and jaws tightened at an anxious grit. It was commendable to see a manifest of fear being so apparent on their faces, mere seconds apart from the smug and the brash that they brandished at him. If their courage was about as fickle as a candlestick, then this was an easy bout to win over with as little effort from him.

Terith swiveled Kushinada's handle in his grip, twisting a wrist as the linger of Hijikata Toshizo's spirit idly persisted as a judgmental gaze at the far end of his skull, wistfully there and gone the second, impatiently handing him the specifics to perform his fabled Hirazuki - a sword technique that, as soon as the blonde wedged his rigid figure into that of the required stance, brought him propelling downward in a crisp cut of wind. He would picture the scene to play out as such: The blunt end of Kushinada's deftly ripping through the pair of earth magi's defenses three times over, having been thinned out from their depleted ethernano, proposing little to no form of escape. Having hit most, if not all their pressure points, the two would collapse to their knees with a chorus of low grunts of fading consciousness. The impact to their bodies would undoubtedly burn spiteful blue spots across those particular areas, but he liked to think it as a good memory for them to reflect on - the sting being a reminder that crossing the border of morality to kidnapping wasn't worth the pain.

However, at the short milisecond where he expected Kushinada to cut was immediately yielded abruptly, his eyes catching a whiff of black and red, a figure cloaked and his two targets lying face down on the hard, cobblestone pathway underneath the heels of the stranger's boots, though there was something familiar of their tone of voice and their name. Haia, was it? Had they met before? Somewhere along the way....Fiore, perhaps?

Then, it clicked, where the image of flaming blue shone off the walls of a treasure tomb, a strange white-haired girl, and the happiness of filling his pockets with his partners by chance. Haia was definitely a name he came to know all those months back. Though he would've taken a brief portion of that moment to question the archer's presence there, the Hirazuki's recoil appeared to be much stronger than he anticipated, his blade separating from his protective grip at a force unprecedented. It landed with a metallic clang to the floor, but not without bonking an unsuspecting victim at their forehead with its hard, polished handle.

Terith's shoulders visibly sharpened at the girlish sigh, and the rustle of clothing that came with her fall. He'd turn around to see the damage dealt, and his eyes would all but widen into circles, irises shrinking as he saw Siennah's body fall limp to the floor, Kushinada sitting innocently beside her, not even the slightest bit mindful of the woman it just knocked out. Rushing over to the older girl, he'd tuck his arms beneath her carefully, fanning her face and rambling 'Hey, Siennah, hey!' with a panicked tone to his words. With no sign of her waking, however, the swordsman would quickly adapt a regretful gloom about his expression.

"Crap." he mumbled, his knees raising shakily as he eased the fainted woman's body in his arms, her face seemingly lulled into an unintentional slumber. Terith turned a heel, casting a Haia a short glance that was matted in guilt.

"Looks like my partner's...out for the count..." he said, his mouth twitching at the comedic reason as to why she fainted, "I assume one of the ladies sent you? Nice to see you again, Miss Starstruck."

He really did his best to remain composed, breeze through his little slip-up with a level-head, but there was no forgivable reason for him accidentally seeing the dainty woman off into dreamland.

"W-we'll get to remaining dark wizards later, let me just...." a pause, where he briefly scanned the area for a good place to settle the girl, eventually deciding to have Siennah lean back on the mansion wall, sparing her his blazer as he shed it off to provide her some semblance of warmth, perhaps an action caused by his guilt, still. He'd give the woman a light pat to the head, smoothing the skin over her forehead and feeling the fresh bump that slowly grew beneath her bangs.

"Thanks for your help...sorry, Siennah, we'll handle this from here, so rest easy."

Then, he stood, breathing in sharply as he took Kushinada by the handle, tucking it back into its scabbard that awaited at his hip. "Alright, let's head out then."

Haia was waiting for the handshake back but instead watched a blade fly backwards behind Terith, her guess was poor grip and a strong swing. Haia looked over the swordsman's shoulder to see a girl get hit in the head with the shining handle and it made Haia cringe a bit, that has gotta hurt if it knocked the girl out that quickly. She was about to snap at Terith, about to call him a stupid bastard when she recognizes the face. Back in the god forsaken desert of Fiore, she bumps into a bunch of interesting people and fought for the riches of the Wizard Saint's vault against some treasure hunter guy. She forgotten the poor dude's name. A name clicked up and her smile went more smug.

"Oh what do ya know, its Pretteri," Haia giggles at the awfully stupid nickname she gave the young man, for obvious reasons. Haia then watches as she gets ignored again for the girl he knocked out.

"And you really need to control those swords, they are really getting to people's heads!" Haia laughed. "But I digress, I haven't answered your questions. Yes duh, or I wouldn't be here, I had to detour from my original destination when I got some call to help you out. So here I am, geez at least be grateful I arrived." Haia looks around at all the trashed bodies of mages.

"So any sign of the big idiot behind the whole kidnapping?"

Post by Terith 5th February 2017, 1:24 am

Haia's referral to her choice of nickname for him, or better yet, her simple revival of it caused something inside him to visibly click, like a trigger of sorts, going off at the rate of alarm bells - but sincerely, to put up face, he'd disregard any attempt to snap at it, just as he should if he were to be brutally honest with himself. Instead, Terith sunk his teeth into the soft tissue of his lower lip, mentally killing the flame that the woman nearly lit ablaze, where it was something that all but threatened his inner tsundere to slip, as fragile as his facade was at times.

The mention of his accident, too, was neigh embarrassing for his person that he instinctively rubbed two fingers over his temple, numb with the times, where his face tightened into an expression that could only be interpreted as unmistakable guilt. He withdrew an exhale from his throat, low and guttural as he chose to meet Haia in the eye, watching the woman pose her position in the scheme of the situation as it was. Terith made a face that portrayed mild surprise, but it hadn't been her tone of voice or anything else of similar caliber. Her status as back-up hadn't fazed him the slightest, either, but what him caught him off-guard was that, out of the number of magi scattered in indefinitely over Ishval, it was Miss Starstruck who'd been selected -someone he knew to some extent, and how much more ironic and coincidental was that? If he were to admit, it was good enough for a chuckle or two.

"I am grateful." he said, tilting his head one way, as if in a small courtesy. "I just didn't expect it to be you of all people, that's all."

Prior to the little whimsical aspects of things, there were important facts to busy themselves with: their objective and the time needed to commit to it wholesomely. The swordsman would eventually gloss on over to the direction of the mansion with his eyes, the heavy gold-plated doors and the large marble pillars looming over their forms. There were possibly more to their adversary than they thought, lurking in the depths of the estate like the lapdogs they were -but no matter, they'd make do, and he had enough faith in Haia and her capability to execute what was needed.

Terith shook his head, palming the delicate webbing strewn across Kushinada's handle, noting its rigidness with grim realization. "'Fraid not," he said, relating to her inquiry of the identity of the kidnapping's head honcho, "Just some of his croonies here, the left over loons should still be inside."

"Best we head on over to the heart of it all, right?" He tipped the girl a nod, motioning over to the entrance before approaching it at a rapid step. The family's foyer was lavishly funded, where velvet almost hung off the balconies and a long, lush carpet rode up the receiving stairs, splitting into two corridors that most likely branched off into the left and right wing respectively. Ornate plants decorated the entrance, where the stretch of expensive tiles were both immaculate and polished, and these were all things shiny and gleaming, expectantly foreign for a simple man of his birthright.

Along with his arrival into the foyer came a foreboding set of sounds, most likely footsteps, that were quickly approaching their position from the left wing. Terith stiffened a little, calling out to the essence of Chiyome from the corners of his Chronicle, as if to borrow aid from the esponage mistress. She chuckled, but it was a sound that was as wistful as a breeze, her smile ethereal as she clicked her fingers. A burst of energy clouded her vessel's body for a time, enabling him to perfectly blend into his surroundings as the two remaining enemies waddled into the center of the foyer.

"Oiii, I hear there be some a ruckus in 'ere, party's o'er though." one of them said, his voice muddled over from the mask he sported. "There's not mu'h 'ere."

His compatriot offered the other a shrug, folding his arm as he scanned the area, drawing closer to the arching doors with a calculative face, eyes searching the compound with intent, "Quiet you twat!" he whispered, squinting his eyes into narrow slits, "I think I saw something."

The swordsman saw something, too, a time to act, and his spell was quickly approaching the end, so a follow-up attack needed to be ensued. Perhaps Miss Starstruck had several tricks up her sleeve, as well, and he'd only hope it wasn't anything too drastic.

Haia wonders what could possible be going on on Terith's head sometimes, honestly if anything she is rather curious about the whole prospect called the plain of Terith's mind. Well whatever may go on in Terith's hard skull and fleshy spagetthi brain, Haia is not as interested in that as right now.
"Honestly I need to re-evaluate my relationship with you," Haia raised an eyebrow at Terith as she observed the swordsman, honestly for someone like him, he really acts ridiculously awkward, even if it is their second meeting, at least he could act more comfortable around her. Swishing her hair and watching her fringe fall back in place, she scans the area around her. They really a thing to the place. Haia would gladly pocket some of the items here but the look of those Musketeers somewhat discourages her. After all she doubts they would be happy to hear a pirate is helping them. Haia shrugs to herself and disguises it as a stretch, raising Orion to the air with her two hands. It was weird honestly now that Terith mentions the fact she was chosen.
"Meh, honestly the Magic Council keeps an eye on people like me rather often anyway you blondy, trust them to choose the closest one to your location. Anyway you're right, no point standing here," Haia said, the archer following Terith through the lavish doorway and into a just as well decorated room. Her blue eyes sweep the area for treasure, and so much it was. But as much as she wanted to take, but she rather not, she heard the rewards were rather nice she obviously wants some with risking losing any. Then she heard footsteps. How delightful. Haia watches Terith disappear before the ruffians would enter the room. Haia would kill them, but espionage was fun. So Haia grabbed the gleam thanks to her ability to draw light, ties it to an arrow and shoots upwards, bringing herself up with it and drawing more gleam creates a web that secures her to the roof, watching the goons below her inspecting the room. Then she smiles. Why not add assassination? Haia drops down upon them, arrows her hands and lands on their shoulders, driving arrows down their spin with a gruesome display of blood. To further humiliate them, she kicks off them and watches them skid across the floor.
"Life certainly sucks for them," Haia smiled.

These Ladies Mean Business Empty Re: These Ladies Mean Business

Post by Terith 14th April 2017, 11:25 pm

Due to his prior experience with the woman and her tone of voice -between the cloistered walls of the ruins that they magically navigated without problem as his memory serves him right- it dawned on him that tackling Haia's bluntness with grit between his teeth would only end in strain for him, because as far as his adeptness to analyze people was concerned, her sort of personality called for it and there wasn't much to be considered apart from the possibility of it being an impulsive habit of her's.

Still, he'd be lying if he didn't feel a pang of resentment wash over him from her choice of words, the highs and lows of her voice appearing to clip them in a patronizing undertone. His grip on Kushinada's handle tightened a tad, knuckles paling as he urged himself that it was fine, perhaps she was just being honest, the need to retort was hardly justified.

What seemed necessary, however, was his reaction to her stunt and her brutal massacre of the pair of bandit men, where the crisp squelch of blood at her arrowheads coaxed something nasty that lurked beneath the depths of him. Initially, it would have passed as a normal surprise to her abruptness that lacked any sort of hesitance. But then.. 'it' began to grasp at his conscience, clawing at the smooth surface of the vertebrae until it perched nicely in his head, causing his body to shiver in a cold sweat.

One of the corpses made from Haia's handiwork began to roll idly towards him, beady eyes,
perhaps stern and steely when light still loomed in them, were now devoid of anything apart from a darkness that he could only interpret as a sharp and sudden death, fueled by regret before his last breaths.

There. Something snapped. Something horrid and mad, thrusting his conscience into a cramped space in his brain and taking refuge as the primary driving force of his following actions. His figure that clung to an adjacent wall would separate from the structure with an unusually straight gate, muscle taut and pensive. Kushinada's blade shook messily in his hands, desperate to return to its sheathe almost, if not in fear of the person holding unto the handle like a vice. The swordsman eyes now too, reflected an odd, dark tint as he gazed at nothing in particular, a gaze clouded over by malice.

To an outsider, there was hardly anything wrong with his solemnity, but truthfully, if it weren't for the hood draped over his face, the maniacal smile atop his face would have been more prominent.

And, what better moment to engage in combat with the enemy than now - a sentiment shared by the bandit leader who somehow managed to materialize behind the blonde, a silver muzzle aimed to his head.

"I... didn't think...you lot would catch up on that quick." he panted, implying that he was running from something, exhausted to an extent. Terith said nothing in return, and would only manage a slow and deliberate swing of his sword arm in the man's direction, though it was to his disappointment that Kushinada didn't manage to touch his enemy's solid form, cutting through air particles and ensuing a long frustrated groan to leave his throat.

"Feisty, now are we?" the leader beckoned, twirling his guns with coordination and grace as his body danced over the space in front of the blonde. If it were to be himself that fought, his response would have differed with greater magnitude, humane, even, but this...this Terith laughed and it was a crazed sound, Kushinada's shaking becoming more vocal and pronounced as the swordsman edged forward a step.

    "Teleportation...magic..." he sneered, "How...exciting...~"

A fleeting expression of insanity is the first thing the bandit leader sees before a burst of blue fizzled across his vision. His confusion manifests with a boot inkling backward and his eyes a lit with unmasked surprise. Caution began to fuel the fire that singed his nerves as grand estate foyer lacked any remainder of his blonde opponent, neither sight nor sound, and that much began to egg on his frustration.

The man's body, however grandly guarded his position was before, is suddenly seen skidding across the smooth, polished floor in an abrupt display of strength from the swordsman, his person lingering behind the staircase that was nicely situated at the bandit leader's blindside. The kick he gave to the bandit's exposed back was perhaps enough to warrant him a bruise, if not for the sheer killing intent that wafted from the dark glint in his eyes. The action earns him a groan from the leader as he stabled himself with the aid of a nearby marble column,
tethering himself to the ground before shakily retrieving his weapons in a hurry.

Click came the sound of the trigger as he shot at the ground behind him, directing him forward with speed unmatched. The swordsman didn't bother to dodge, for all things odd and strange that day, and his only response to the possibility of being fed a barrel-full of lead was a reminiscent of madness sitting atop his face in the form a delirious smile.

With his body dissolving centimeters away before reaching Terith's location, the leader tilted his muzzles upward and aimed for the chandelier, causing it to crackle and dangle and sure enough, fall at dangerous speeds.

The swordsman appeared largely unfazed as his body swiveled to one side, gone the instant the expensive gold light fixing hit the stairs, staining the lavish, plush red carpet with tiny beads of sharp, broken glass. Mutilated at the thought of the adversary having the same advantage as him, the teleport wizard unloads his gun barrels entirely, with no aim to direct his shots apart from the need to corner the swordsman in a flurry of bullets.

Such defense, much to his amusement, created a chain reaction of metals ricocheting off the walls - defeating whatever purpose the other wizard had off shooting randomly, for it seemed to cage him in his own magically infused bullets. Much to his amusement, the fact hadn't come undone for the bandit leader, and the entity taking refuge in the blonde's head all but cackled in delight.

    An advantage, it thought.

Moving from his spot behind the staircase, the vessel, now housing a soul of something sinister, forcibly calls upon Fujibayashi, where the spirit is largely horrified of the energy that pulled him from the Chronicle. With little lee-way to struggle, the spirit succumbs to the command, bringing Terith's body forward, his steps lined with remarkable speed, narrowly dodging most of the bullets. Though some would be able to hit his arms and graze his sides, the pain of blood trailing against his skin was relatively nonexistent - since the conscience in his head was anything but human.

Above them loomed the energy of two newly summoned Etheblade copies, hovering over the bandit leader's hands where his guns released an unprecedented amount of bullets. With a deftly timed snap of his fingers, the swords make their descend, cleanly cutting through the skin of the man's fingers and causing both his weapons and his blood to leave his palms. In an attempt to relieve the pain elsewhere, a verdant green circle manifests under his boots, signaling the opening to one of his major teleport spells which did nothing better than alarm Terith and the parasite inside him. Another click echoed through the empty halls of the foyer, sending a stray copy sword to both of the man's upper legs and feet, pinning him to his spot, agony acting as the glue as his figure wobbled from the onslaught.

"Not...done..." Terith said, a mangled voice complimenting his appearance that escalated into lunacy the further the fight continued. The leader creates a mortified expression with his face, the skin near his eyes stretching as pupils dilate in response to the fear as he spared his enemy a glance.

The swordsman was evidently matted in some dark, negative pulse that caused his eyes to turn a shade of red, blood leaking from the corners, mimicking the slither of tears down his cheeks. His mouth too, appeared to have been permanently stitched into insanity as his body lunges forward at a rapid clip, Kushinada wedged into a dangerous angle, aiming for his chest, where more copies of his holder weapon materialized around him, creating a ball of pins that confined him so delicately, like a confined animal, wailing for escape.

"Fun...." he muttered with a laugh, "Fun...~"

Terith closed a palm, almost immediately causing a chain of blood to scatter across the estate floor as the copies dig fondly into the enemy's skin. The pain is undeniable, one would say,
as the leader crumples with a litany of pain spilling from his lips in long, tearful screams.

It wouldn't have ended there, hardly could if the entity was permitted - have his head with a sharp flick of his sword. But a lady in a flowing red suit came, her gun unloading a bullet in such accuracy that it managed to peel the Etherblade from his bloodied hands. He wasn't given enough room to react properly, since a strong blow to his head caused his eyeballs to curve backward into his head, clouding his mind with the peaceful color of unconsciousness.

The cling of madness somehow escapes him with that hit, giving way to him properly registering the last bits of reality he'd experience before being lulled into a dreamless slumber.

    "That's enough, Monsieur Torian."

What greets him when he wakes is the frothy feeling of energy coursing through his veins, a magic circle, glowing white, circling his body, though it didn't seem to sport intentions that would alarm him on the get-go. Instead, a soothing feeling that could only be done with a healing spell willfully tried to ensure him out of his daze. Above him was a dull, gray ceiling, highly different from the gold-crested domes of the mansion he had occupied earlier. The atmosphere was pleasingly different, too -a curtain draping over the sides that separated him from the other parts of the room, a bed where his body was sprawled out evenly with a generous amount of bandages, a table of medical supplies, and solitary window to his right. Beyond it, night lurked well into the eves.

"You're awake Monsieur." he heard a woman say, so much scarlet filling his vision, "The deed is done. We've managed to save the family thanks to you and your partner's efforts."

His voice is strained in his throat, for he couldn't manage many words apart from the occasional squeak, as if the structure close to his vocal chords were scratched violently with overuse.

Atma shook her head, relieving her hand from the swordsman's chest, undoing the white circle in the process. "You did quite a number on their leader, if I may attest...but perhaps a little too much. Must you go so far to punish him, dear sir?"

Terith's brow knits together in confusion, with a slow blinking motion to further compliment his unknowing response.

The musketeer lends the swordsman a brazen stare, searching him for any sign of hesitance before realizing the futility of the bout, seeing nothing but sincere bewilderment on his part. "So you've no recollection of your reckless encounter...perhaps that's for the best." she said, "Rest easy Monsieur, our fellowmen have gathered at the mansion to extract the remaining bandits. If at all, take this as a memory for this night."

Slender fingers would weave a soft, clean fabric fabric into his soiled hands, the green coloring making his eyes squint just a bit. It hadn't any fancy clippings or extravagant frills,
but it looked decent enough to portray the decency of a musketeer trainee.

"One of our own, you see, it was Portha's idea to hand it to you. Consider it a token of our gratitude and...something to replace your current attire."

He didn't notice just how battered and blue he was until the woman mentioned so, awakening the pain that slept along with nerves with a jolt that sent him groaning.

Atma huffs, albeit in a near-chuckling manner. "Your partner, that girl with the interesting hair,
has one too. Both of you do, for having aided us in our mission to recover the hostages."
    she whispered.

"Now, please continue your sleep. The morn would greet you with your scheduled departure and our salutes waving you goodbye and our hearts-...."

Before the red-head's monologue dragged on long enough, Terith made a bee-line for the dreams he should've had, but meets nothing but silence as he retreats back into his own thoughts. Where were his spirits, beckoning him, pestering him, even?

Ah. Who knew, what mattered now was spending the remaining hours of night with rest. 'Tomorrow,' he thought to himself, 'Tomorrow...maybe...I'll remember.'

Not even his dreams provided him the answer to the questions that haunted him so.
