    Job Stuff:
    Job Title: Baby Steps
      Rank: D
Player Requirements: 1-2 D Ranked mages , with 5 posts per player. 100 word count minimum
Job Requirements: Teach the baby to walk before the parents get home.
      Job Location: Hargeon Town
Job Description: So the Adams family has tried everything to teach their baby how to walk, from support, to even magic. None have worked. This is where you come in. They need you to make their baby walk, no matter what you need to do, just get it done. They will be leaving at the crack of dawn, so you have until they come back at noon.
      Enemies: None
      Reward: 500J

Maya stepped inside the house and gingerly shut the door behind her. The young couple she had just met and spoken with outside the house had been extraordinarily kind, letting her know all sorts of things about the job, the house, and even giving her a free cookie to scarf down. The job sounded pretty simple, all things considered: Just make their baby walk. She didn't even have to take care of it, although she probably would regardless. She hadn't even needed to travel far in order to visit; the house was only a few blocks away from the Lamia Scale guild hall. All in all, she'd probably be able to finish this up quickly and spend the rest of the day in leisure.

    OOC STUFF
Gold Rush Lineage choices for the thread
Passive: Increase your own jewel reward by 100%
Active: The user's luck will become at its peak (as though you needed any more...) and will now have great things overall happen to them. This ranges from getting a simple kiss from that one special person, to having your opponent stumble, causing them to, even if narrowly, miss the direction they were sending their spell at.

Just like the parents had said, the baby was laying in its crib, making various baby noises. Its eyes perked up as Maya entered the room, looking up at her expectantly. Maya was impressed; most of the babies she had babysat before the incident would have bawled their eyes out in this situation. The little tyke seemed pretty fearless; she had to wonder what was keeping it from standing on its own. "Alright kiddo, let's see if we can get you walking," Maya said lightly.
The teenage girl started by tenderly lifting the baby out of its crib and laying it down on the floor of the room. It was time for some experimentation.

The first thing Maya did was lift the baby up so that the two legs were the only thing it had touching the ground, then let go. The baby immediately fell to the ground with a slight thud, giggling. "Should have figured it wouldn't be that easy," Maya muttered aloud. "Guess we're starting from square zero." She tried again with a slightly different method, lifting the baby and holding it so that it's feet touched the ground, but not letting go. The baby kicked at the ground weakly, but otherwise made no movement. Interesting. Maya lowered it back onto the ground, watching it crawl around a bit as she thought. There was definitely something amiss here, but what exactly was it?

As Maya watched the baby crawl around, something suddenly struck her. The baby's legs weren't moving at all; it was hauling itself around by its arms alone. Maybe...Maybe its legs were just naturally really weak? That would explain everything. All she would have to do then was give it a little power boost.
Maya sat down next to the baby, lowering her palms over the baby's legs and focusing her energy into the Lacrimas in her wrists. She was getting used to the power flow of the Lacrimas now; she was having a much easier time telling how much power she was outputting and gauging how much she would need. For a baby, the power expenditure was almost nothing at all.

Almost immediately after Maya finished using her instilling power to empower the baby, it perked up and began crawling around on all fours instead of just using its arms. That was most definitely a good sign, but now it was time for the moment of truth. Maya gingerly lifted the baby up onto its legs again and let go. The baby started a bit, but stayed upright. Then it took a step...and then another. It was working! The baby was walking around, making happy noises like there was no end. Maya took a seat, letting out a sigh of relief. She was able to fulfill the request with next to no trouble at all, and now she'd be able to spend the rest of the day relaxing. Today was a good day.
