Amidst the old ruins of an abandoned Guild Hall
Through halls that echo in the winter and fall...
The souls of the damned walk alone
Waiting for their master to resume his throne...

A single mage controls the damned
Stores his corpses in spaces crammed...
    Experimentation of unhealthy sorts
    Their evidence decorating the courts...

Come to the Abandoned Guild Hall

Bob the but-ler! He's gunna kill you! Fight and stand!
A 7 foot tall, rather large gentleman with what may as well be tree trunks for arms, and a very litteral tire sticking out the back of his head. He has a rather fancy suit about his body, though torn in many places it is, the napkin hanging over his left arm remains spotless. As for the mace he carries, it appears to be quite bloody. This marvelous chap seems intent on serving you your death and it's highly advised you deal with him. If you roll a strong dice multiple times, it means you will encounter other variations of him, including females if you so wish... good sir!

Because why not? Of course there has to be a creepy looking necrophiliac behind this whole charade! He'll tell you tales of the good times with his beloved and how she tragically died at the hands of a plague in an attempt to save hear dear friend who holed himself up in an abandoned cabin, and had her arm torn at. He'll even admit to not caring if she were a zombie herself so long as she would be capable of holding him just one last time... But alas his endeavors are in vain as he lacks the magical components by which to power her cold body, but AHA! a moment of glory as he realizes he can rip the ethernano straight from YOUR corpse and use it for her's, such a splendid plan! ❊ GODDESS OF DEATH ❊
An invitation from the guildmaster into her office, to Freya? This meant that she had to dress nicely, yes? The Goddess of Death had never been invited into the guildmaster’s own office for any sort of purpose before. This was a first, and she could not stop wondering what the reason for this call was. She picked her cleanest set of clothes and mattest pair of gloves, braiding her hair as neatly as possible, the fringe of her lilac tresses falling just above her curious violet optics. This was not the first time she was going to meet her guildmaster, however. She had seen the nine-tailed fox on several occasions, mostly when she came back from a job, or decided to spend some time inside the guild. Heels clicking the marble floors of the guildhall, Freya came to a halt in front of the guildmaster’s office. Knocking three times on the large double doors, she pushed it open, entering the spacious area.

The guildmaster’s office was a magnificent space and the very welcoming vibe made her feel right at home. Aiyana was, of course, sitting behind her large desk full of paperwork and things like that. The busy vixen had probably noticed her presence by now since she had knocked three times, loudly, and had purple hair that stood out most of the time and caught people’s attention. Freya decided to take a seat in the chair on the opposite side of the desk from Aiyana, giving her a slight nod in respect. “Good morning,” she said, a faint smile on her lips as she greeted the guildmaster, observing her ears. Freya could not remember which specie she belonged to. She knew of those who had humanoid features and ears like hers. Realising that it was rude to stare, Freya blinked and straightened herself in her seat, smiling even broader now at Aiyana.

Aiyana Shuer, the guild master of Pharaoh's Call, had invited a particularly interesting guild member to her office on this fine day in Earthland. A woman that went by the name of 'Freya Bishop' had been summoned, but the nine tailed fox was unsure of how to discuss what she needed to. That was her problem most of the time, unsure of her own decisions. It was a terrible fault when dealing with others, but the vixen was sure she would be able to figure it out before her plans for the day were finished. Three, loud, knocks would bring the woman to attention, looking up from her paperwork she was filling out, to see a beautiful woman enter her office.

The purple haired woman was the one she had been waiting for, the girl nodding in respect as she sat down across from her as she greeted the vixen politely. ”And good morning to you as well, Freya!” The celestial spirit would never notice the stare at her ears, it was so common when she was out and about that she almost never even paid attention to that kind of thing anymore. ”I invited you to my office to ask you to come along on a job with me today. It's not too hard, definitely within your range of jobs, and we can get to know each other better as guild mates at the same time.” Aiyana would slide the papers for the job across the desk to her as she smiled widely as she looked into the eyes of the one sitting across from her.

It was then that she actually noticed the beautiful flower that was over the eye of her guild member she was here to help. ”Oh! The lily is a really nice touch! It compliments your beauty!” The woman's tails would shift about as she began to stand up, obviously preparing to gather her equipment throughout the room so that they could begin their journey for the job and get on their way.

    ❊ GODDESS OF DEATH ❊
Freya beamed for the first time in her human life, never having a reason to grin so widely. Of course the Pharaoh’s Call guildmaster was someone she looked up to, as a human. Anubis in her true and complete form would never even imagine ‘looking up’ to a human being. Freya Bishop, however, seemed to have some human in her. Human enough to respect another human equally as she respected herself, even though Freya was dead. When Aiyana continued to say that she had called Freya to go on a job with her. Freya felt like she had been given a gold medal, or something, but she wondered why Aiyana wanted her to come on a job, out of everyone else in Pharaoh’s Call. Maybe there was a job that required death magic that Freya used, or she just needed one of the members idling around to finish a job. Either way, Freya nodded and said, “I would love that, since I don’t have any plans today, too.

Freya combed a lock of her hair that fell on her side. As her fingers slid through the lilac strands, she noticed that her hair had changed in color, and a horrified expression washed over her face as Aiyana said the next sentence. The lily? Had her overjoy revealed her true form? Did the disguise remove itself? What happened? A hand raised up to feel the soft petal of the flower on her eye as she stared at the reflection of herself in the window behind Aiyana. It was either because of her carelessness or disguises did not work around Aiyana. Only immortals could see her in this form. Was Aiyana one of them? “How are you able to see through my disguise?” she spoke in a quiet tone, disbelief audible in her voice. “Unless you are immortal, there is no way.

Excellent! Freya Bishop seemed pleased, possibly even excited, to be doing a job with her nine tailed fox of a guild master! She could only for sure tell the other half, but the woman figured that most would be overjoyed to have the honor of a job with the one running the entirety of the guild they were in. This was great news, though a bad reason as to why she was doing it. It was in high hopes that as they did the job they could work through whatever was bringing her to such evil deeds and attempt to help her change her path in the process. Aiyana Shuer did not want to have to kick anyone out of the guild, and the land they ruled over, but if she had to she would.

Sadly, before they could get moving, the woman before her would question how she had been able to see through her disguise; before mentioning immortality and saying there was no other way to be able to see it. Disbelief filled her voice, which made Aiyana confused about all of it. ”I apologize for any confusion I have caused. I had no clue that you had any form of disguise ongoing. I am technically immortal. My body is that of a celestial spirit and my soul was modified at birth so that it always stays in the realm of the living.” The woman did not hold back any secrets regarding it, honesty was the best policy after all. ”But now that I know, I will make sure to not mention it around others. Though I will remain curious as to why, now that I know the secret and all.” The many tailed female would begin walking to the door, opening it but not going through. ”Though, shall we head out while we converse? We have a lot to do today and I do not want to keep you out longer than need be for a simple job!” She would stay happy in tone the entire time, though her mind was racing with questions and inquiries to ask along the way; alongside the serious ones she already had in mind before all of these events happened.

    ❊ GODDESS OF DEATH ❊
The shock was relieved when Aiyana admitted that she was technically immortal. This meant that Anubis’s disguise was malfunction. “Ah...” she chuckled. “Of course. You couldn’t be one of the mortals.” This was Anubis speaking now as she was speaking of humans as an inferior race which in her case was true. She was a Goddess, and humans were created by beings like her. Since it was obvious telling Aiyana the great big lie was not going to be useful for either of them, Anubis decided to keep her secret to herself. It was too much for even a Celestial Spirit, to understand. So with a smile, she ducked Aiyana’s question of ‘why’ she used a disguise and instead got to her feet, nodding promptly at the nine tailed fox to let her know that she was ready for the job. “Alright then, let’s not waste any more precious time. My disguise is nothing important, so let’s forget about it.” She sounded like a cheerful guild member once again.

Now that she had the job details sheet in hand, Anubis scanned the page and memorized the important things. She folded the paper and handed it back to Aiyana. They were supposed to go to the abandoned guild, which was the ‘Haunted Guild’ according to what the job location part told her. If the guildmaster did not have any form of transport prepared, the very obvious means of traveling to the Haunted Guild was by train, or the shortcut by boat. Although Anubis was a fan of getting the quicker way of things, she could not be bothered to climb onto a boat, which she had a feeling was going to be small, especially not with someone who had nine tails to fit in a limited space. “I’d suggest the train.

Aiyana's words about immortality seemed to relieve the shock that her guild member seemed to be in previously, though the words spoken were ominous to say the least. It sounded like she was talking down on anyone mortal, though why would another do such a thing, even if they themselves were not? Mortals could do the unexpected, up to and including killing an immortal. There were stories and tales of that sort of thing all around, and for an immortal to simply ignore that was pure vanity in the end. That was something to talk about at another time, however. They had a job to get to, and the woman she was going on this job with was suggesting a train.

Ever since acquiring the black market dragon slayer lacrima Aiyana had an issue with most transportation; motion sickness. Boats, cars, trains, ships; if it was a non-living thing transporting her she found herself ill. It was not extreme motion sickness, she was not projectile vomiting if she could help it, but was just wave after wave of nausea without end. ”Actually, if you wish to travel that way you can. I prefer different methods, myself. Since I am not by myself we can use the guild pet to fly us there. Would be nice for her to get out for once, plus she has not been out on a job with anyone just yet.”

Aiyana's guild mark was somewhere that most people would find unreasonable for anyone self respecting in society would have it; on her lower back. A single tail would tap on it twice, the mark activating magically to tell the guild pet to make her way over. ”The sphinx will be here soon, if you wish to ride along with me. She can get us there faster than any train would. If not I can meet you there.” It was up to Freya Bishop at this point. She could decide which she wanted to do. Either way Aiyana would be riding on the Sphinx to the place.

    ❊ GODDESS OF DEATH ❊
Thankfully, Aiyana had a better suggestion - better because it was essentially faster - which was the guild pet. Since Freya had never gone on a ride on any kind of animal that could fly, she was a bit thrilled. The fact that the guild pet had not been used for a job made her feel even more excited. With a relieved sigh, she said, “That sounds like a better form of travel than by train or boat. I hate having to see so many people.” All I want to do is kill them. She kept the last part to herself, otherwise Aiyana might have a bad impression of her and this was their first job together. Freya sat back down, resting her hands on her lap as she nodded at her guildmaster. The ‘Sphinx’ would be arriving soon. Of course it was called the Sphinx, the guild itself was called ‘Pharaoh’s Call’. It was almost noon. Freya was not someone who easily got hungry, but for some reason, she thought lunch was a good choice of subjects to talk about right now.

Have you had lunch?” she asked casually. Even though Anubis wasn’t human, she still had to keep her human body in good, healthy condition, otherwise it would start doing strange things like skin getting less firm. The last time she saw this was one morning when she woke up and entered her bathroom. A few strands of hair were white - signs of aging. It was clear that human bodies could not cope with her age. She was a little over six times older than the regular human life expectancy. Thinking of this, Freya began to feel a bit sick. She brought her hand to her lips to cover a slight cough. “Maybe we could grab lunch on our way or just have it later if you don’t feel hungry as well.

The cry of the sphinx could be heard in the distance as Freya Bishop mentioned her pleasure at Aiyana's proposed method of transportation, and how she preferred it over boat and train due to the lack of people involved. ”I agree with you on that one. I really do not enjoy those, not anymore. The dragon slayer lacrima I used on myself makes it impossible to use them without me getting motion sickness. I'd rather fly on my own, teleport there using the celestial realm, or ride the guild pet when I have the choice.” The guild master also agreed, slightly, about not having to see so many people. With the jobs she had done, and the guilds she had been in prior to the one she now ran, made it hard for her to go anywhere without being noticed; and then flocked to for questions and conversations.

The sphinx, Belle, was a glasses wearing sphinx with long, blonde, hair that was considered beautiful by every person that Aiyana had seen her meet in person. While she was not super chatty or excitable, she was extremely intelligent and would gladly hold an engaging conversation with anyone willing to do such. And arrived just after Freya asked Aiyana if she had had lunch just yet; as well as mentioning grabbing lunch on the way or later depending on the guild master's thoughts on such.

”Well, I do not have to actually eat anymore...not since I became a celestial spirit. Food is a 'for fun' thing for me now. I don't get hungry, but I crave stuff once in a while when I haven't had something for a time. We can stop on the way, if you want, but I won't be having anything today; not before the job at least.”

Belle, calmly waiting for the two to climb upon her back, simply awaited the two patiently in a position for them to easily climb up her side to reach the saddle she had placed upon herself; a saddle that would allow them something to hold on to while she quickly flew them to their destination. Aiyana, not wanting to keep the riddle beast waiting, decided to teleport onto the saddle and wave for her guild member to come along. ”Either way we need to get moving before we lose too much time of the day. I want to get this done in a single day so we can get back to the guild hall. I have a lot of stuff to do before I actually get to relax!” Aiyana was not kidding about that last part. In paperwork alone she still had at least another eight hours of work to do. Add in the fact that she needed to talk to a few of her own people, the Terran, as well as find out if any of her other guild members needed anything from her or the guild. Then there were also the meetings with the town leaders of the country they were now the capital of, as well as figuring out how everything was going to work with her ruling over them.

It was a mind numbing jobs sometimes, but she was willing to power through it for the good of all. Even when it was something like what she was doing today, dealing with a member that had strayed from what the guild's views were about; and trying to bring them back to what was right for everyone. She could not let Freya continue in her behavior that she had done, and if the nine tailed fox could not achieve that it would be a sad day as she would have to turn her in to some authority that could contain her; if that were even possible.

Post by Anubis 16th October 2016, 3:10 am

    ❊ GODDESS OF DEATH ❊
Upon discovering that her guildmaster was a second generation dragon slayer, Freya’s lips formed an ‘O’ in surprise. “All this time in the guild and I didn’t know you were part slayer until now!” Freya had only learnt about slayers and their capabilities very recently, not because she was interested at first, but she stumbled upon this great book - a fictional novel about a dragon slayer and his lover. This made her want to know about dragon slayers, as a result. She spent a night at the library researching about dragon slayers, and slayers in general. If you were a dragon slayer in this world, you could call yourself a tough cookie apparently. However, second generation dragon slayers were different. They weren’t initially selected or born to be dragon slayer, but they chose to be one. That’s where the difference was. They got themselves a ‘dragon slayer lacrima’ and became a dragon slayer. In other news, the guild pet had just arrived and was ready to take them on a ride to the Haunted Guild. The sphinx was a beautiful yet mysterious creature, in her honest opinion, just by judging from the looks of it. Freya had never really expected it to look the way it did because the only picture she had in mind whenever she thought of a ‘sphinx’ was the one of the entrance of a pyramid. She almost made an inappropriate comment about it boobs, but refrained from saying anything that might make Aiyana think of her in a different way. In fact, she was determined to impress her guildmaster today, and none of this boob talk will help. She really thought the sphinx’s boobs were lopsided, though.

Hello,” she said with a mini wave at the magnificent being. “I personally think the frame of your glasses match your eyes,” she added. Now it sounded like she was checking the sphinx out. Freya immediately turned to face her guildmaster before she said anything weirder than that. Fortunately what Aiyana said next made her brows shoot up. No food at all? Anubis in her natural form didn’t need food, but were celestial spirits that transcendent, even more transcendent than Goddesses? The only reason Freya needed to eat was to keep this human body of hers in a healthy condition. This made her wonder what exactly Aiyana was doing here on Earth among the humans when she could be doing other things? In fact...what exactly did a celestial spirit do? Wasn’t she just a spirit? That meant the only difference was that she wasn’t a corporeal being, didn’t it? Thousands of questions clouded her mind now that one piece of information led to the possibility of something else that was originally not the case and instead of asking Aiyana anything to clear up her confusions, Freya sat there with a frozen smile hanging on her lips as she said, “That’s actually good. You don’t have to waste time or money on food,” with a slight laugh at the end. Now that the sphinx was here and everything, it was time for them to depart the guildhall and head over to the job location. Freya climbed on top of the sphinx while Aiyana simply teleported onto it. “Alright,” she said to let the guildmaster know she was ready for the ride.

Now this was a part of Fiore that Freya hadn’t actually set foot in, and it was intriguing. The atmosphere was rather gloomy and it was eerily silent, of course, since this place was supposedly ‘haunted’. Freya had never been anywhere that was claimed to be ‘haunted’ so this was a first. Her first mission with her guildmaster in which she rode on the guild pet for the first time, to her first place that was haunted, and it was even the first time the guild pet was used on a job! A job full of firsts, this was exciting. Adrenaline rushed through her dead veins as she took a few more steps towards the daunting establishment. It was deserted, clearly, and gave off a ‘do not enter’ vibe, which made it all the more thrilling for Freya. For starters, she was a big fan of doing things she wasn’t supposed to. But this was a part of the job, so she was sure nobody cared. Lilac optics darted from one place to another, observing the surroundings as she approached the building, with Aiyana close by. Otherwise she wouldn’t go close to such a place. After all, she was only a novice in this world. She couldn’t take things on her own or enter mysterious places without a stronger companion. Not yet.

Even though they were standing in broad daylight, it felt like it was getting darker the more they approached the guild and a discomforting feeling washed over Freya, brows knitting into a frown. If Aiyana had planned to just walk into the guild, then she didn’t mind following this plan, but what if it was a trap? Freya wasn’t a fan of falling into traps. She didn’t like them, so she tried to avoid them. And if that was the case right now, she would prefer staying out of the trap, unless Aiyana could do something to make it feel like less of a trap. Freya considered speaking her mind, but breaking the silence might give them away too early. She did feel like hearing out Aiyana’s plan before they were inside the empty guild building, but the dilemma was too real. Should she break the silence, or break door? Prevention was better than cure. “So, Aiyana, if you have any plans on how we’re going to do this, I think now’s the perfect time to say it,” she said in a hushed tone, just in case there was anyone listening to them from the shadows. The sun shone brightly upon the gloomy cursed lands, the dangers hidden within the darkness for the two (three if you count the sphinx) new visitors to explore.
