Summer was going to the Ace of Spades. She had some nerve to travel to the designated area but she had good reason to do so! She was to meet up with a friend and maybe go around to see other interesting things that was in that local area. The oriental fireworks expert was excited to go anywhere, she loved travelling personally. It gave her lots of ideas for plenty of new stories. And maybe this could be an actual story in itself. Of course there was plenty of other things to do in the Ace of Spades, but relaxing wasn't really the thing to go for when it came to the hyperactive Summer Guiyang. If she could garner attention by going through a temper tantrum then she absolutely would.

Finally making it to the town was rather tiring, and looking at the town from the distance looked so tranquil and peaceful compared to what she has previously heard from this friend of hers, but she will initially roll with it which she didn't mind at all, she will just have to make it more lively somehow...

Because Summer was slow and took her time with travelling, she arrived later than she anticipated and dusk was transforming into the night sky. Summer grinned as she looked to the sky. It was such a beautiful night with all the stars clambering up together, clumping the sky into the night. It was a very beautiful night indeed, and it could be a festive one at that if a party or a festival was in place. She started to feel weird however and looked to the sand that was suddenly scratching and tickling her feet and legs, she only noticed it when she has the urge to itch one the leg which had the scar because the scar was even more sensitive to the environment than the rest of her un-scarred body.

She had to run somewhere as it was starting to get more difficult to see and she glimpsed some sort of cave. She decided she would run there and stay there until the sandstorm finishes since she hasn't exactly arrived at the area yet... what if there was anyone that was in the same situation and needed shelter. She decided that she would signal them for shelter, it would probably help anyway with the sandstorm that was getting heavier and heavier.

At the entrance of the cave, sparks covered both of her hands and she set off a firework shot, the shot was bright and all spark-like as it shot off into the distance. She knew the wind was probably going to affect the direction of the firework but she hoped to god that the smoke that would emanate from the after-effects of the firework would be prominent. The smell of the magic might also help aswell.

The Ace of Spades proved its stronghold to have not been limited to its structures alone, but the environment was, in itself, quite charming. At first, the swordsman arrived hesitant to dive head long into the area of unknown trajectory, as he himself has never truly identified with the place, much less rumors or words of the mouth. It was of pure coincidence that his journey yielded himself here, as the train that was heading for Clover Town proved to have gone earlier than he anticipated, and with no business left in Talonia and no further promise of it in Era, he was left with no option but to buy himself a ticket that'd take him there, to the Ace of Spades, a place that he'd trek into blindly with little to no idea of what its spaces may hide.

He'd later come to attest of how undeniably pleasant it was to have arrived when the stars were bright and the great yonder was a significantly beautiful shade of near-midnight that it was, in it's own right, slowly making him ease into situation. A traveler who only relied so much on the time tables of the local transit could become lost to begin with, so he settled with the idea of settling himself in for the night, not favoring any form of scuffle until he'd see the dawn, and then the swordsman would be on his merry way, preferably to finish his business in Clover Town after he'd exhaust a bit of his current cash on some of the town's delicacies.

When the chime of midnight edged itself quietly into the background, the night's weather started unbecoming for his standards. The wind was in a rush to get somewhere, and with it came the hushed sounds of a rough breeze, as if it carried something weightless in its tracks. The swordsman would later come to revel in the fact that a sandstorm glossed over the Ace of Spades at this ungodly hour, and he was frustratingly prompted to seek shelter with very little visibility considering the gutsy winds that blew particles into his face every now and then.

A little inkling of hope soon enough presented itself by ways of a dark opening from where he stood. He'd been braving the gathering storm for a while and he was honestly staring at divine mercy at that point as he shuffled awkwardly into the space, wasting no second to dust his clothes with a free hand.

As it was, however, he wasn't the only one to have muddled into Spades with the ire of mother nature looming over their heads. He'd blink a few times as he made the faint figure that moved across the darkness, the scent of gunpowder melting into the cloistered space.

"Hey!" He called out, approaching the other individual, later realizing that it was a woman judging by the faint outline, "Got caught in the storm too? Guess that makes two of us."

Summer couldn’t believe how bad the sandstorm was getting. It became so bad that she was sure that nobody was seen her signal or was able to even see the smoke that was spreading due to the sandstorms sheer speed. She was lucky the sand wasn’t going into the manhole that she discovered not too long ago, but she was still worried incase anyone else is out there… And she has to wait it out! She doesn’t want to wait it out… she wanted to go and have fun! Waiting around is so boring, she would much prefer it if she could have an ounce of conversation with someone, anyone…

She was tempted to do another firework spark, but she decided against it. She didn’t want to overuse her magic incase she needed it for something important, that was the best way to go about it. She has learnt it over the years while she has handled her magic that sometimes using tactics then just straight out fighting is the best way to go, especially when fire is around. That is when her magic really hits the fan and shows just how powerful it can truly be. It is why she always viewed her magic as elegant and festive, yet extremely dangerous for anyone who crosses her line and makes her really angry.

Suddenly, while she was still waiting for the sand to finally lay low so she can continue on with what she originally intended to do, she heard footsteps. She suddenly got worried, was it an enemy and does she need to kick their butts back into the storm?? Or is it someone that she can rely on personally until the storm at least dies off…

    First, the footsteps…

Then the dusting of said person's clothing…

She had to turn around to see who it was, it appeared to me a male. But she wasn’t so sure until she heard the voice that the person’s vocal chords produced. It was indeed a male.

"Ah, good evening!" The girl exclaimed happily "Yes. It seems that does make two of us indeed, but I don't want to be here." She sighed softly as she stepped towards the male and took a good look at his features before smiling. "On the bright side, I have someone to talk to now! YAY!" Summer's smile quickly turned into a prominant grin as she looked behind her. Now that she inspected it a bit more from what she can see... it looked like the tunnel had some sort of passageway and she wanted to investigate it like the curious soul that she is. Maybe it could a clearing of some sort! Or maybe something that will be of use to them.

"Do you think we could rest or something??" the girl notioned to the male as she pointed to the darkened tunnel that lead to the unknown in all hopes that something positive was down there. "Maybe we can chat and tell each other about ourselves while we are down there." It was obvious that Summer was simply looking for something to do other then wait.

The girl's bubbly attitude was certainly left unharmed regardless, and he'd have been ashamed if he sported even the tiniest bit of a sour mood merely because he didn't want to injure any sort of enthusiasm she was harboring then. She swordsman decidedly played along, a warm chuckle falling carelessly from his lips, though he wasn't even slightly fazed about the unconscious action as he'd normally be.

"Pleased to be in your presence then, Miss." he said, bowing slightly to comply to his polite notions. Following her line of sight, his eyes would waver over into the darkness that stretched over a good meter, the echoing noises of droplets scattering evenly across the space. Terith narrowed his eyes to further asses its depth, but could barely make out even the faintest clue of what they'd come across. And knowingly that there could be anything layering its self into darkness as if it were lure, he wouldn't dare risk diving in head first without a plan of action and an ounce of cautiousness to boot. His fingers edged his weapon closer to his waist, a thumb trailing over the threading that lined its handle, pausing over the hilt as he took a step forward.

"Mm...looks ominous, but I do agree, it's not like we can just sit here, the storm's doesn't seem to be giving in." As if to prove his point, the cave's inner walls rattled with a hazy howling sound that was generated from both the wind and the grains of sands scratching at it's  exterior. He'd snort a little impassively, dismissing any form of premature fear almost immediately, having gone through so much more terrifying hauntings that'd give the cave shadows a good run for their money. The young blonde kicked the sand of his shoes for a bit, shagging it out to make sure it wouldn't hinder his footing should they ever come across a pack of threatening intentions.

"We should at least try to see what's beyond this. But not without being a teeny bit careful, alright?" he offered her a small smile, putting a sane amount of trust in the girl that she'd be more than capable to stand her own ground, as he did with most of the individuals he came across his journeys. It was very rare that he'd find a non-magical being nowadays, and it was an amusing thought to think that his little delay with the Oak Town train would lead to something just a bit more memorable. Instinctively, he beckoned her over with an arm gesture, stepping back a little as if indicating for her to take the lead, unless she'd prefer otherwise. "Ladies first, of course."

Once she'd take the initiative, he'd spark a small conversation as they'd walk, offering her his pseudonym as a common practice. His birth name would be revealed in due time, but this time, he'd settle for his wizard name over anything else. "I go by Torian, by the way." he spoke, the words bouncing of the cave walls. "I don't do much apart from the usual wizard things, but I like to think my travels equate to something, at least."

Summer wondered how the man thought of her, so far by his demeanor he seemed to enjoy her company which was always a good thing. She quite liked it when people enjoyed her company because she guesses sometimes that her behaviour can get very annoying after a while. She used to do that sometimes back at the village when her childhood friends Jiang and Hung teased her all the time. She would tease them back twice as much, even though she knew they didn’t like it that much because they knew they deserved it.

Upon seeing the man bow, she looked down and smiled softly, the man then appeared to be quite a gentleman and she accepted that. Although she knew that he was a complete stranger and might just be hiding his true colours, she can assure herself she would have good company for tonight which is just fine for her until the storm died down, which doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon. “Pleased to meet you too, kind sir.” She said in return before looking to the tunnel to investigate it.

Upon hearing the cave retaliating with the strong wind and sand. The girl’s eyes widened. It sounded quite horrible and it literally grinded her gears. She hated it and it just made her want to scratch out her ears. She hoped to never hear it again for the same exact reason. She DOES NOT want to scratch out her ears and the sound was very uncomfortable in the first place, further proving the fact that she didn’t want to hear such a creepy-ass sound ever again. However, all of it washed away when the male shown her his much anticipated smile. The smile at least suited him.

“Why, thankyou.” She took the offer and walked in front, she shown no fear. There was too much going on here! Sure the sound earlier annoyed her very much but it could have been much worse right?! She was sure that it would be much better then going back to her home village which she had to run away from for reasons she hasn’t really told anyone quite yet. She didn’t want anyone to know and she didn’t feel ready to tell anyone either.

While walking, she heard drips now and then while the two walked the tunnel, accompanied by the footsteps that they both trailed while both of their  feet were playing chasies with each other. Sometimes hearing drops of water was quite relaxing and it can calm her down quite a bit. Her attention only changed to the male when he spoke out, introducing himself as Torian and that he was a wizard, this made her interested and curious at the same time, turning her head to him as she walked.

“Ah, you’re a wizard too?! Cool! Me too! I am Summer, Summer Guiyang.” She introduced herself in return as she grinned and bit her lower lip. “My magic is quite unusual though, but is rather festive! I do like my magic though…” Her words stopped she started hearing sounds of fighting in the distance and she got curious. Why would fighting be prominent in the caves?? She didn’t know why but quickly found out when she stumbled into a room with bandits and skeletons… fighting each other?!

“What the…?” Summer looked behind her to see what Torian’s reaction was before feeling her back, showing a blade which looked like a hula-hoop before clinging it in her hand. “We may have trouble on our hands, let’s take as many out before they notice us…” Of course Summer wasn’t usually the type to lead, only follow. But when she saw the danger that the two immediately faced. She had two choices, turtle up or ham. She decided to go all ham.

"Summer, huh?" he fought back a chuckle, "Well, my magic isn't so festive, it's a little mundane in all honesty, because it lacks flashiness, but I guess I like it the way it is, too."

The swordsman made a little nod as he registered the girl's name in his mind, the letters rolling across his thoughts with a note on how it suited her demeanor to a point. He'd admit that his name was less than creative to depict his passive nature, and that much was a given considering how he hasn't the slightest clue of what the jumbled letters were meant to signify. And yet he couldn't find it in himself to pull the blame on his father for his grays that reached his brain or his slightly non-existent mother who's memory he can't even completely recall. It'd be similar to cursing the moon for how dim it is at night -completely uncalled for when it had been set in stone, evoked to remain until the end of its time.

But as much as he wanted to dot on that clever analogy of his, they were simply passing thoughts, and having a short attention span did little to keep those ideals in his head. His interest quickly shifted to where Summer directed her surprise to, the noises depicting a heated battle currently at it's peak. He squinted a little to regard their adversaries better, their outlines coming off to him as odd as he noticed that some of them appeared less humane than the others. Terith motioned his weapon closer to his drawing arm, lifting it slightly from its sheath as he took an obligation to usher forward with careful steps.

"Aye," he said in response, his eyes fixed on the backs of the busied bandits as they fended off a bunch of skeletal soldiers, their eyes glowing red with malice. "There aren't that many, so this'll take little time if we take them out simultaneously." He adorned a small, confident grin, showing his sportsmanship as he promptly brandished his sword to the fickle light of the scarce number of torches that lined the opening they came across.

The sound echoed ever vibrantly across the cave walls, several sets of heads craning their necks toward it with eyes wide. A comical sweat drop seemed to dangle atop his mop of blonde hair as he addressed their hostility with a twitching lip, his eyes visibly dimming under the shadows of his regret. "Oh crap, I forgot this thing was a little loud."

In a matter of urgency, however, his other hand made its way towards his back, drawing his shorter blade from its scabbard. He had little to lose now considering that most of them were already targeting them as they charged forward, so he'd make the most of it. Breathing in, the swordsman would conjure several copies of his ethereal weapon and had them float above their enemies for convenience, having sought the right moment to drop them over resulting to drastic measures. When the group was as close as he could get them, he'd release a silent sigh that allowed the blades to swoop down cleanly against their running forms, sloppily hitting their legs to hinder their movements. The men visibly cowered as the pain caused them to groan in compliance, but it did very little to the skeletons who'd only flail about as their bones shook from the impact.

Well, the damage done by the copies were of little significance to him, nevertheless. What he deemed important was whether or not they'd hit, and he appeared successful in this approach at least, so there wasn't much to complain about. Terith readied his stance as he revered each blade that pulsed in his hand, ever eager to register his command. The familiar voices of his spirits weaved into his brain cells as he called out to their dominions, the soul of the sword Yasusada sitting upon the Throne of Kings of his wakizashi, and the rigid spirit of the Shinsengumi Captain making himself comfortable upon his Etherblade, though Toshi's expression was a little too stiff for the swordsman's liking, to be honest.

'Your arms, vessel, they're too stiff, relax. I'm giving you the Hirazuki, anyway.' the captain bellowed, Terith only ever managing his irk by following the notion with a silent exhale, his shoulders sagging as he did so.

A surge of energy filtered through his nerves as he fingered his weapon fondly, allowing his body to move forward instantaneously in a burst of blue that had their adversaries blinking twice to even register his fleeting form. The grace of Toshi's Hirazuki was a little generous with the general increase to his overall speed capacity, and he'd be compelled to shower the imprint with thanks if it weren't for his authoritative attitude that never ceased to pick at his wits even if it weren't something to be picked at in the first place. Regardless, however, the swordsman made it a point to make use of Yamanbagiri's blade to deal significant damage to the skeletal fiends, while his shorter blade carved its efforts across the bandits' soft necks, albeit avoiding the usage of Horikawa's sharp end, in case Summer was leaning towards a bloodless scuffle. He'd regard her preferences first above all else, of course, considering how he'd dealt with another girl who was considerably less than eager to hurt anyone in the past. Ever since that particular encounter, he figured it was best to unsheathe his weapons with their dull ends jutting upwards, flipping them only if it was truly necessary. He'd admit that doing so defeated the purpose of the blades overall, but he hadn't found any sort of hindrance that came about from resulting to this sort of pacifism.

"One, two, three..." he whispered, his eyes shifting back and forth from bone to flesh as the Hirazuki brought his figure from one opponent to the next in a repetitive cycle, "Four, five six..."

Hearing the man speak about his magic not being so festive, she rolled her eyes playfully “eewww non-festive magic! Just kidding hehehe, but as long as you like it for the way it is, then we can’t really complain.” She smiled softly as she bit her lower lip “Although I must admit, I do not know which is flashier… my magic or my obsession for being flexible.” Summer has this weird thing about her: she is a contortionist. This means Summer can fit herself into anything without an issue, she has practiced many things too which is also associated with gymnastics like flips, tumbles and the infamous splits and box splits.

In the room however, she wasn’t sure if she could pull off her flexible prowess but she can check over what was going on as usual before she fought, it was usually best to do that anyway for obvious reasons. Looking to Torian as he unsheathed his sword slightly made Summer feel enlightened that she had someone with her now, if she was on her own she may have had trouble, considering she was only a D rank mage that has only recently joined the Golden Phoenix, but this she didn’t mind. It has given her a completely new experience.

“Understood.” Summer took his command quite seriously while showing off her ring blade off fully. To be honest it was crafted quite well and hasn’t blunted in the many years Summer has used it. She was gifted it by the village blacksmith since she was very small when she wanted to protect the village that she grew up in. Even though it was quite big for her then, she remembers all the memories that she has practiced with it and it has made her stronger physically. Her flashbacks instantly broke when she heard the most strangest sound fill the area and soon enough a ton of heads were staring at them.

“Oh dear…” She sighed softly as she shook her head, the sound started the moment the male took his sword out completely so it must have been the sword. She would now think that he has most likely signed their death wishes and she couldn’t cope with the fact that he just distracted them into the flamboyant duo. Luckily Torian seemed to have sorted them all. She couldn’t believe what she just seen and her mouth completely gape wide open. His magic wasn’t flashy?? It bloody is!

Ok, it was her turn. The skeletons weren’t down yet and she had to finish them off quickly before the two could advance and maybe investigate the room they stepped into. “Okay, here I go!” The fireworks expert front flipped then tumbled to get behind the skeletons before swinging her ring blade behind one of the skeletons and it made that one shamble into an unmovable object. “Heh!” She grinned “You need to eat more.” She insulted it as she shrugged her shoulders before lighting her hand up into multicoloured sparks. Releasing a firework shot from her hand to the skeleton, because the two are in close proximity the skeleton just rambled into pieces.

“Well then…” Summer grinned and shrugged her shoulders. “That’s that over and done with… right??” She questioned Torian before sighing softly and looking over the area.

When his little frenzy was decidedly put to a stop, it was due to something bright and beautiful catching the corner of his eye. He'd squint a little as he registered a collection of lights that Terith knew was a batch of lit fireworks going crazy over on end, and he'd have stilled to enjoy the amusement brought about by the bundle of colorful explosives. Summer certainly had a knack for being spontaneous, and he'd be damned if her magic wasn't specifically tailored to match her personality. The attack later collided against a pair of skeletons, effectively reducing them into piles of old bones and armor.

The swordsman huffed a little, stretching his lips into a smile as he offered the girl a thumbs up from the his side of the clearing. "Nicely done!" he said, "You took care of the last of them, so I'm sure we're all done here."

Realizing the reality of his words, he was later obliged to cast one last spell to ready him for later in case the cave housed something else in its depth. His weapon uttered a satisfying click as he briefly sought aid from the spirit of Ieyasu, his graceful presence smiling fondly over him before asserting the borrowing of power with a blur of blue particles. Bits of the inspiration he used to pummel his way through the cave crawlers melted from their fallen forms, gathering over his sheathed Etherblade in a fraction of a second and gently settling a wash of comfort into his soul, as if a part of his energy was replenished. Instinctively, the swordsman was prompted to release his Defiance, to better maximize the nurturing effect.

"Hic manebimus optime!" he huffed, the words rolling of his tongue to accommodate the loss of ethernano. As a final, finishing act, he'd come to roll his shoulders idly, easing the possible stiffness that might result from the stunt he did before assuming a brief search of the area they found themselves in.

The cave was essentially quiet again, nothing but the sounds of the winds hovering above the cave as the storm raged on into the night. From his left, he noticed a moderately sized opening that was dark and had a distinct ancient smell. In response to it's ill-lit feature, Terith would slowly detache one of the torches from its iron grip that was bolted into the adjacent cave wall. "Looks like the path doesn't end here." he moved the torch closer to the mouth of the entrance, seeing several stalactites jutting downward from the ceiling. "We're in for a long one, apparently."

Terith beckoned over to Summer as he tossed the torch into his other hand, gesturing her to go on ahead as he did so. "Hope you're ready for an adventure." he chortled.

King of the Pirates! (Job) Empty Re: King of the Pirates! (Job)

Summer grinned the moment the skeletons just dropped down. She had to look to Torian for approval of what she had just done and smiled softly. She was happy that she could gain some sort of approval from the male as he complimented her. She had to admit to herself, it couldn’t have been more cleaner and more explosive. Luckily Summer’s magic was meant to be explosive and festive in the first place so she could kind of forgive herself for the stuff she places herself in. “Yaaayy!” Summer cheered ever so lightly to herself before Torian got himself up to his own business with his swords she took a good look around. Calming herself down, she held her ring blade firmly in her hand as she looked around.

She was actually putting things together in her head now that she inspected the area more. It looked like something she heard from the village people long ago. “Hey…” She whispered quietly before smiling softly and letting Torian do his thing. She looked around more just to confirm to herself what she saw before speaking out to herself. She knew it. “So this is Gold Rogers tomb…”
Summer had to say this to herself before she grinned… Treasure was here… She wanted the treasure, maybe she could add it to one of her many adventures that will probably contribute to the many stories that she wants to make up.

“Ey, Torian.”She tried to grab the males attention again before inhaling and exhaling, she didn’t want to wait around but she didn’t want to rush the man either. She could do many things while she waited, she could do the splits… maybe a few flips… Just as long as she managed to keep herself busy and hopeful for herself “Torian… I think this is Gold Rodgers tomb… do you know how cool that is?!” Summer asked him excitedly and jumped up and down “We found an awesome tomb! Yaaayyy adventure!” She cried out in happiness while jumping up and down. She doesn’t know how the others can handle her excitable behaviour, but she was sure everyone manages somehow… which is either fortunate and unfortunate at the same time.

“I bet there is great treasure here!” She grinned softly, but not until she felt a strange feeling inside her. Now she knows what he was doing, he was doing some sort of war cry and it has clearly affected her greatly, she felt more determined and brave (not that she already was) and she felt ready for anything. She was filled with hope that the two will make through it. And somehow she felt at most, replenished. She felt really bad for talking over the male and she didn’t want to explain everything again incase she annoyed him. “Oh gosh, I am so sorry. I didn’t mean to… disturb you.” She apologised softly before jumping around once more. “No it doesn’t… hey, do you think we will find his tomb soon though??” She questioned excitedly as she toddled over to the proscenium arch and nodded with determination in her eyes. “Gotcha.”

She walked in front as always, but this time she made sure the male was behind her. For some strange reason she kind of found it comforting for a male presence to be behind her. Not because of anything stupid, but it reminded her of the times back in her old village when one of her friends was behind her. It was a shame that those memories of hers belong in the unfortunate past but she was glad that she was nowhere near Jiang and Hung anymore.

Summer looked around as the corridor continued and she sighed softly. Her legs were beginning to hurt and she didn’t understand why, she just put it down to the effects of the environment, the rocks and stones sometimes making the soles of her shoes give off some sort of lumpy bumpy texture. “This corridor is taking too long.” The female sulked before she looked behind her again to see Torian “You know… even though this walk is boring and painful, I am quite enjoying this.” She admitted, albeit it was a very blunt confession. But she couldn’t help it, her legs were hurting and she hated it when her legs hurt. She needed her legs incase she needed to do the splits or fit into barrels… contortionist things. She couldn’t do that if her legs hurt which is quite understandable.

The swordsman would watch her antics with an old memory at the back of his head, the scenes played over a sepia filter as it fueled the laugh he desperately tried to hide. He'd manage an ever consistent grin, though, as Summer's general personality had a strong semblance to his sister Liesl back in the day when nothing mattered but them and years that ticked by slowly. He missed them, and dearly so that he made it a point to strive for a greater strength with every new dawn. He'd admit that the prospect of losing them to time was a little unbearable on cold nights, but sometimes he'd equate his encounters to a driving force, much like then, where the girl provided a type of nostalgia that, melancholic as it was, he was strangely thankful for.

He'd been musing too much, though, and it didn't take him very long to find himself slightly embarrassed as he answered her question with nothing but a pause, and a stutter, and a cough that settled his restlessness back into the pits of his gut. "G-gold Roger's Tomb? It's a familiar name...um...but I don't think I know much apart from that."  he said, sporting an apologetic expression as he scratched his cheek. "Gotta admit, who would've thought that we'd be finding treasure thanks to a-"

Noticing that Summer already took the first initiative he offered her, and that it was indeed just empty space that was listening to his mutterings, Terith opted to drop the subject and continue on, blinking back the blush as it occurred to him that he'd have humiliated himself twice that evening. The swordsman would only silently hope that she didn't sense his trivial conundrum from the way he acted.

It was easy to find his cool, however, and as soon as he managed to steady himself, Terith would immediately come to follow Summer into the opening at his own leisurely pace, the torch in his hand creating shadows as they traversed the long corridor that proposed many possibilities at the end of its route. He wasn't expectant of the sort of treasure they'd find, but he liked the idea of a glimmering treasury over digging through a dead man's glorified casket. He wasn't bothered with mummies per se, but if magic was anything but fantasy in Ishval, then curses were a large possibility too. And he didn't want any grudges lingering on their heads as a by product of their whimsies.

He'd later stop his movements to attune to Summer's sentiments, tilting his head as he briefly wondered if the girl was serious about the walk being boring, much less painful. Looking down at her shoes, he assumed that the rough texture of the cave floor was unfitting for it, and as much as it was abrupt to even suggest what he was about to do, he wouldn't want to have a lady endure a pain that he could easily alleviate.

And, to be fair, there was no telling what sort of opposition they'd come across next, so both of them needed to be conditioned for any circumstance. He could spare a bit of his strength, anyway, nothing too drastic to concur as a loss.

"Do your feet hurt Summer?" he asked, decidedly going for the more polite approach rather than surprising her. "If you'd like, I can carry you until we reach the end, it's not too far from where we are."

He made a move to approach her gently, beckoning her to take the torch by ushering it close to her so it wouldn't get in his way later on. "Your choice of piggyback or princess style, of course. I'm not picky."

Hearing about the male speak about Gold Rodgers tomb and not knowing what it was, was understandable to an extent. She just heard about him a lot in the village she grew up in and that was perfectly fine, she accepted that some people may not know it as much as others. She actually felt sorry for him though. He sounded like he was going to bow down and spam apologies at her. She could never do that but maybe sooner or later he will feel happier again, and when he does feel happier again then she will at least have some worry off her.

On the bright side of things (literally) he was carrying the torch for the two to see. She could see the fire dancing along as the flames continued to provide the light. Summer was cautious about being near fires but she had a good reason to. Whenever she touches anything to do with fire she bursts into a firework and it can seriously hurt anyone around her, she’s only ever willing to do it when there are no allies around her, but with Torian around her she will have to be careful if fire even poked her face. She didn’t want to turn into a big gigantic firework, it would probably scare him and make him think of her as a monster. Not that she was, she knows she wasn’t.

The pain from her feet really was getting too much, it didn’t help the fact that her shoes wasn’t accustomed to the texture of the floor for obvious reasons, although she sometimes does think that it would be better to wear something tough, but that wouldn’t help her fighting style at all, her fighting style was fast, yet graceful and creative. She wasn’t designed to be a tank, she was more designed in an assassin sense and even she doesn’t class herself as an assassin. She knows fine well that these shoes are the best option in that sense.

Summer would then stop the moment as Torian asked if her feet hurt. She looked down awkwardly, she didn’t expect him to offer such a position of being carried. It would probably be best but she didn’t want to hurt his back or anything of the sort. It seems she in a bit of a conundrum, but on the bright side her feet wouldn’t hurt and she needed her feet to not hurt. Then softly, she took the torch from his hand reluctantly, she was obviously worried by the dancing flames but for now she will deal with it. She will just have to keep it away from any form of body contact with herself. She didn’t know what choice to pick, but she didn’t want her or Torian to be embarrassed so she tried to shuffle behind him. She couldn’t due to how tight the space was, she would contort herself but with some rocks sticking out she decided against it, The fire didn’t exactly help that idea either. Sighing softly she glared at him as she gave up that little battle.

“Princess style, please.” She smiled in defeat while getting herself prepared and hoping he wasn’t annoyed by her asking for the princess style after the little kerfuffle they experienced. Suddenly, she had a better idea. Actually, if she did climb over him… the fire might come into contact with her body and she would probably hurt Torian… better not. As she inhaled and exhaled she smiled softly. She didn’t want to show her worry of some stupid flames. “Sorry.” She quickly mentioned “I am worried about the flames burning me!” She laughed lightly afterwards. Whether he asked or not was fine. But she is still worried that he would see her as a monster if she did.

In response to her initial action of moving towards his backside, Terith made a move to kneel, edging his hands closer to his lower back to offer Summer some sort of leverage to position herself better. But a quick scan of the space around them seemed to usher just a bit of doubt in the swordsman, considering the jagged rocks that may obstruct the girl's movement. Seeing her hesitate nearly proved his thoughts, and he'd only ever chuckle at her near reluctance to take him up on his offer to carry her like a princess. Rising to his feet, he was almost obliged to ask her what made her so flustered in the first place, but Summer was quick to answer his curiosities, strangely enough, her statement causing him to tilt his head in return.

"Hmm...I see." he said, his eyes glossing over the torch as the embers wavered silently in her hands. He couldn't really make do with the problem by snuffing out the flames, considering that they'd be tripping all over the rough surface without it, and to his dismay, he knew that he couldn't possibly refer to his imprints with his blade sheathed, what with carrying her would need both hands per se. Heaving a sigh, the boy could only ever offer her a piece of motivation, approaching her figure with an expression of encouragement.

"I won't ask why you're scared of it," he began, gingerly gathering his hands around hers, as if to tighten her grip around the torch, "But the flames aren't going to harm you, or me for that matter, if you don't let them, and if you hang on tightly on some sort of conviction that you'll get through this, I'm sure you can handle it." He gave her a small grin, hoping to ease her into the idea just a bit more, "Besides, I'll be as careful as possible, so just think of the fire as a small sun, and we'll be out in no time."

The swordsman would bend a little in a kneel as he outstretched his arms, edging his right into the bend of Summer's legs and easing the left into the small of her back. He'd deftly lift her figure off the ground as he rose from his previous position, the sensation of ushering the girl into his arms reminding him of the times he'd drag a drunk Lorri when she went through her post break-up syndrome. For a brief second, his original expression would shift a little into contempt as a pang of sadness shot through his chest, thinking back on those times and wondering, idly, if his sister even found the time to pick up her violin again, as he disappeared during her process of recovery.

Shaking his head, he gestured Summer to keep her hold on their light source with a nod as he kept her figure close to his chest, deciding that he'd worry over his familial matters in a more appropriate time as his eyes focused on the small opening at the end of the hall.

"You might want to place an arm over my shoulders, just in case." he said, taking the first centimeters of steps with caution.

Summer got increasingly worried as Torian tried to give the female more room, but alas he failed to do so. It wasn’t really his fault however, it was the fault of the environment. She doesn’t regularly enjoy messy walls like this. The female sighed softly, Summer was sure that Torian was only chuckling inside at her awkwardness. This was so strange and… foreign. Summer was never really lost for words before and even when she was, she usually had her flamboyant personality to back her up. Well not right now it seemed, it looked like that even the most confident of people will have issues with their speech and speechless reactions.

What did help her however, was when she held the torch and Torian placed his arms around her. She felt more comforted as he mentioned them words to her. He was right, if she was especially careful then the flames won’t touch her. She will just have to watch out if the flames go really close to her skin. She was very lucky that she has some resistance to various types of burns, but it won’t stop her from instantly blowing up right in front of him. That was something she didn’t want to happen.

“Okay…” She nodded in an understanding tone. Torian seemed to calm her down a lot, not many people actually managed that. The only person that managed an inch of that was the blacksmith back at the village. Suddenly, she felt hands on her back and she was suddenly lifted up into his arms. It was the weirdest feeling ever but she was happy that her feet will finally have some rest. Her legs dangled down as the male continued to walk. Keeping notice of her new friend’s face as he gave away a clue or two that she should keep the torch. She could only move her head upwards softly before looking around. She noticed another arch opening and she was ready to know what was at the end of that corridor.

Heeding Torian’s words, she did indeed place an arm over his shoulders as he entered ever so carefully. What Summer saw was surprising, it was some sort of male donned in chainmail for his head and what seemed to be either leather or cloth for his torso and other body areas. He was merely opening a coffin when he spotted the duo and instantly charged at them with his weapon. Summer didn’t know what to do other than throw the torch at him in retaliation. The torch fell on the floor and the man dropped his weapon to cover his face.

She finally let herself loose from Torian’s grasp and she looked around… maybe she could use that certain ability of hers if he came to her and stayed away from the male. But first she decided to make him more angrier a wee tad by running behind him and jumping so she was on his shoulders. She covered his eyes and she grinned.

“Weeee!!!” Summer squealed, she was having too much fun. Hopefully Torian could use this to his advantage to at least hitting this buffoon, even if it was just once.

King of the Pirates! (Job) Empty Re: King of the Pirates! (Job)

    Post by Terith Sat 1 Oct 2016 - 2:16

Though the conversation had dwindled, some of their unspoken words were better expressed through their responsive gestures, silently shown through the darkness that coated the atmosphere evenly in a steady, soothing air. He wouldn't openly admit it to her, but he was thankful to an extent that it had been Summer, and no one else, who he managed to encounter on this fateful evening. It wasn't anything grand or schematic, but it was a feeling of warmth that he was sure he'd been devoid of all these past few months, traveling from one point to another with no hope for repose apart from the battles he fought. Needless to say, Terith was visibly enjoying himself so far despite the theme of hunting for treasure in a desolate dead man's tomb not entirely exciting in his thoughts. The swordsman didn't seem to be keen on using his verbal skills to communicate his whimsies to her, so instead, he'd cling unto the girl's form with a gentleness that he hoped she'd manage to perceive as his way of saying thanks, where his words were at the edge of his lips, curving a smile into his cheeks.

Then the moments passed, the tunnel light would lift and from it would reveal a most curious circular room that seemed to glisten as various treasures littered the tomb's dusty floors. At the center of it all was a coffin, as if guarding the gathering glitters that surrounded its structure. Terith would raise a brow as he spotted an outline of a masculine figure that wore a good amount of chain mail as his armor. The tomb was pried open underneath his fingers, only indicating that he too, was after Rodger's glorified corpse to rob it of whatever the hell was on it. The blonde swordsman made a face, clicking his tongue as the armored man noticed their presence and would only charge at them with a stiff, frustrated jaw line.

As if on instinct, Summer abandoned the torch and opted to hurdle it back at the intruder, causing his mouth to gape open in a scream as he hurriedly tried to protect his face from the flames. The girl seemed to interpret this as her opportunity, and had promptly leaped from his arms, only to shuffle her way behind him in an attempt to act as a temporary distraction, perhaps, with the way her hands looped over the intruder's eyes like a makeshift blindfold.

Had he not been urgently wanting to end this bout, maybe he'd spare Summer a laugh for her out-of-place enthusiasm when it came to stopping a fully grown man with just her musings. But he was urgently staring at the dangerously sharp halberd that dangled in the bandit leader's right hand, observing each pensive swing and responding to its abrupt drawing movement with a pull to his own weapon. Shifting immediately into a wayward stance, Terith would focus a push of energy into his left leg as he activated the Himizu, the spirit of Fujibayashi sporting a scenic expression that was barely visible through his black mask as he sat cross-legged across Terith's Chronicle. Across Fujibayashi, a brown-haired, idle imprint would simply blink as the circumstance unfolded, leaning back as he was tasked to manage the Threshold.

'....You know, I could've been used in a more efficient way. But oh well.' Souji said, though it had not been directed to his vessel, but more to the Iga ninja that sat silently beside him.

'....A dead man cannot complain.' Fujibayashi spoke, gathering his arms into a cross across his buff chest.

    'Hum. You're no fun.'

    '....'

While his spirits took their time in their aimless banter, a flourish of blue could be seen melting into the space where he once was as the swordsman slid smoothly over the tomb's floor, and as he did so, the sharp tip of his sword meeting the intruder's arms deftly in an attempt to temporarily slow his movements, generating three gashes across his left arm, and two long cuts down his right, however not without obtaining one large cut running down the length of his chest that become the product of running directly into the intruder's frantic swinging. The blonde would only grit his teeth at this, continuing the Himizu dash without so much as a hesitance in his movements. As a response to the stinging pain, the bandit leader would drop his long weapon and all but lurch in a hysteric scream. Seeing his negligence as a chance, the blonde would dig the length of his blade underneath the long metal pole of the bandit leader's halberd, churning it over and forcefully pulling it away from his sweaty grasp.

"Gyyyaaaaahhh!" the blonde heard him say, his deep, open scars now matting his dark clothing with black stains that oozed a metallic smell.

His Himizu dash indefinitely ended as his form settled several meters from the intruder as he took another step forward, the polearm making a noisy clamor as it spun upward before landing edge first into the sandstone pavement. Terith had taken great care to watch over his accuracy, hoping to not get Summer stuck in his cutting frenzy thanks to her close proximity with his targeted area. Much to his chagrin, it appears that there had only been one receiver to his attack. However, it appeared that the bandit leader had no intention of letting his open wounds become a hindrance, and hence, his familiar outline bent down and rolled, scattering blood across the floor as he made a bee-line for his weapon that was only several hand-grasps away from his last position.

The swordsman took to this with a matter of urgency, twisting his body one way so he'd face his cheery partner. "Knock him out, Summer!" he said, putting his better judgement in her abilities as he ran a hand over his open wound, dragging blood all over his fingers.

"Crap. I wasn't careful." he muttured, readying his Eiko with a grunt.

    Summer Guiyang

    King of the pirates!

    (Summer and Terith)

    @tag, WORD COUNT: 392

Summer didn’t know what was happening now, she had to focus on continuing to blind the male in hopes that Torian would have something to offer. Judging by the way he used his sword much earlier in the dungeon, that he will surely have much more to give out then the flashy spell he shown. Summer was starting to struggle with keeping the bandit in check, his grunts and his attempts to get the fireworks expert off him was a daunting task, the female didn’t give up however and stated on for as long as she possibly could.

Suddenly, Summer seen the most graceful shade of blue as Torian slid across the floor elegantly to do his thing towards the one that endangered them. Summer quickly back flipped away from the man so she could buy herself more time and to assess the situation in order to gain what the end result was.

Right now, the bandit lord seemed to have rolled to grab his well-loved weapon thanks to the works of Torian. Torian was injured and she was worried, but she can appraise the injury later. If this guy isn’t sorted with soon, he could be more injured. Summer didn’t want that, it was best that way. She had to act now, upon Torian’s request.

”Right!” Summer exclaimed, nodding as she grinned, running over to her enemy happily. He looked over to Summer and was huffing and puffing, a good sign that he just needed to have a quick five minutes or so. But of course, Summer wasn’t going to allow him that pleasure was she? Nope! The fireworks expert had a much better idea in mind. As she ran she unsheathed her ring blade. Summer knew this was going to happen, but she didn’t let this stop her as her ring blade started to cover itself in firework-like sparks. Because she cannot use her flexibility while using this spell. She simply ran to get behind him and knocked him in the air before he fell onto the floor.

“Hard knock life…” She sighed sarcastically before dropping her weapon and sitting on top of him, placing both her hands on his cheeks. Sparks quickly emerged from her hands and she started to burn his face! The sparks just wouldn’t stop, she continued to burn his face before grabbing his nose.

    “HOONK!”

    Post by Terith Mon 3 Oct 2016 - 12:27

it may sound absurd but don't be naive
even heroes have the right to bleed
It was strange to think that his attempt at being daring lead him to be crippled like this, bending on one knee and heaving scarlet through an open wound. He'd been injured much severely before, but that had been when the functions of magic and battle were all but a blur to him. He liked to think that his general swordplay was nearing a more polished state after the relevant challenges he underwent under the pretense of a weary traveler with a knack for sword tricks. But what of the gash he sported now? It dawned on him like a slap to his head, reminding him that he hasn't come anywhere near perfecting his art and that his level of skill was still, ultimately, sub-par.

Terith bit as his lip with an irked grit to his jaw, his knuckles paling as he gripped his stained dressing shirt. "...That's one way of showing me how weak I am." he mumbled under his breath, remembering the words to his healing spell and placing it atop the tip of his tongue, "Here goes nothing....Banzai!"

The sound waves that circulated around his words seemed to reverberate louder against those particular cave walls, bouncing off the interior vibrantly as a wash of relief coated his wound like a gauze. Inadvertently, the swordsman breathed in a sigh -once, to remind him that the heal was effective, and twice to remind him that, this time around, he'd better favor caution over anything else, lest he find himself in an even bigger circumstance that even his warcry wouldn't be of much use.

Terith managed himself a satisfied grin as he steadied his stance, flecking the blood off his fingertips by swinging his arm back, finishing the act by locking both his hands across his weapon's grip, keeping his eye on the bandit leader who had been pummeled into a screaming mess of a man underneath Summer's handiwork. He rendered the girl an amused grin at her final string of words, as if the situation was simple enough to be taken lightly. It wasn't, but, really, the blonde would let her have her fun.

Lowering his sword, he'd approach the two at a leisurely pace, bending down in a sort-of sitting position as he gave the intruder a smug grin. "Not so tough now, are ya buddy?" he said, lifting Kushinada with it's blade jutting upward. The man seemed to mumble something incomprehensible as he raised it ever gently, unable to make out the words past his singed cheeks.

"Pardon? Couldn't quite here you. It's lights out for you, good sir." Terith gave the defeated intruder a chuckle, resolving to hit him across his head with the blunt end of Kushinada's handle, where the impact made a crisp clacking sound that would probably mean a large, generous bump atop his head the next time the bandit leader wakes up, which wouldn't be until morning, presumably.

"This one's down for the count." he said, as if the situation didn't already showcase it, "So I guess the treasure's ours."

Terith gestured over to Summer with a pat to her head as he stood, tilting his head over to the corner where Rodger's tomb sat free from any sort of plunder, as if to indicate a notion of following him. Though perhaps their next course of action would be considered a form of looting otherwise. But hell, treasure was something well-sought for after enduring a sandstorm that intense.

"Alrighty, let's hope there's not just old bones in this casket." he chuckled, making his way to the coffin and deftly dragging the cover open.

    Summer Guiyang

    King of the Pirates!

    (Summer and Terith)

    @tag, WORD COUNT: 591

It was so fun honking the male, her spell hasn’t ended either so she started to smack him in the face constantly. “WEEEEEEEEEE.” Summer seemed to enjoy smacking him one. Gunpowder started to be the main smell of the area and the bandit couldn’t seem to handle the heat of the fireworks from Summer’s very own hand. It reminded her of when she was first hit by an actual firework during that festival in the little town. It gave her this strange… magic… It did scare her at first, but she has honed her magic and enjoys them thoroughly. She knows she’s very much a try hard because of this and she is not afraid to show it.

While her slaps continued, she stopped slowly when she heard the word “Banzai!” And she turned around and suddenly seen her newfound companion shouting it out like there was incoming danger. Of course it wasn’t anything bad, far from it. Instead, she noticed Torian looked so much better than he was earlier, which made her a very relieved young woman. She then locked her fingers firmly in place on the man’s nose again before shouting once more.

    ”HOOONNK!”

Grinning and tilting her head, her spell finally faded and she looked to her hands again. She never really felt the need to honk someone's nose so much. But to each to their own. She was sure everyone had to have fun now and then while they thought. Sometimes some people even fight to get rid of certain emotions, she has seen it between Jiang and Hung once and it went down really well, although Summer didn’t find it all that comforting.

Upon turning around once more. She spotted Torian coming towards the hyperactive girl and the restless male. What was he going to do?? She didn’t know. But when she seen him lift up his blade. The female jumped up and backed off. She was curious as to what Torian was doing. But it was clear the moment Torian spoke out them words and then knocked the man out. She was relieved.

The female couldn’t help but nod cheerfully as Torian patted her head, it was as if Hung and Jiang was near her once more. They always used to pat her head at times when she needed comfort or when they needed confirmation that Summer was truly okay. “R-right.” Summer took note of what he said and followed him to the coffin. The moment he opened it Summer took the first initiative and looked inside.

”OOOH!” She grinned as she took out two things out which seemed to be the most interesting to the fireworks expert. One was some sort of orb, she instantly felt a bit more powerfuller holding this orb and she had to close her eyes to take in that strength fully. She didn’t know why she suddenly felt like that, but she did. The next was some pirate coat, she couldn’t help but giggle as she passed on the coat. “I don’t think this will come of use to me…” She admitted. “But that’s okay! This orb is pretty though… YAY ADVENTURE”

All in all, despite the unfortunate event with the sandstorm that truly destroyed navigation purposes. Summer had a good time, she met someone new and she had lots of fun exploring the area. She had such a great time with this new person. If she ever had the chance to be able to go on another adventure with this man then she really would without a doubt.

it may sound absurd but don't be naive
even heroes have the right to bleed
The inside of the casket, underneath his calloused hands, was caked in filth, and most of it puffed out in copious amounts, as if grasping at his lungs to ensure a cough from his as his initial response to the unveiling. But maybe the motion of backing up at the presence of ancient dust was the only legitimate action in the scenes that would occur later, in a sense that the confused expression he'd adorn so effortlessly after stepping forward to examine the coffin's contents was something necessary.

Terith gave the spaces in the casket an odd glare, a small crease riding over the smooth of his temple as if in contemplation and question. Where...was the body? And more importantly, why was there no body? All that was beneath the layers of age and years was a strange, tailored coat that seemed to shimmer with its golden finishings and an orb of sorts, pulsing with a faint magical energy that hinted at it's use -but its true purpose eluded him, even more so when the swordsman took his time to mule upon the lack of a corpse, or any sign of whether the corpse was there in the first place. He'd bend at the knee, dragging a finger over the plush velvet padding and raising them to his face. When he'd been satisfied with the level of dirt that gathered at his fingertips, Terith would scramble his thoughts together, blowing a warm breath over them as he pondered.

"...There doesn't seem to be any sign of disturbance." he mumbled, his thumb idly sliding over the fabric webbing of Kushinada's handle, as it always did whenever something appeared much too deep to not warrant any attention from him. "Where did old Rodger go? Was he even dead in the first place?" the blonde's figure fell back into a stand, his mouth pushed back into a thin line in frustration.

    "Ugh...it just doesn't make sense..."

Then, from the corner of his eye, a bit of movement would occur, but nothing too drastic to truly unshackle him from his senseless dilemma. It was only until very much later when his thoughts would shift, where the small moments turned into large seconds and where the bits of motion off to one side had actually been Summer, who toyed around with the treasures within. The coat that she discarded back to him lightly flushed against his side, causing his instincts to respond with a stretch of his arm. Terith observed the cloth with curiosity, holding it up to the light as if to see the whole ensemble with a better angle.

After some rather extensive tests to the fabric, the swordsman offered it not more than a passing glance as he deftly hefted it over his shoulder, thinking that it was better off sold to an auction of sorts. Perhaps some rich bloke would offer him a hefty sum for it, and it'd be enough to last him a few weeks on the road, perhaps.

"It's not my style, anyway." he idly commented, sporting an unamused grin as he briefly imaged a poorly drawn stickman with a golden mop, showcasing his absurd golden coat with a cocky grin. It was enough to have even the depths of his Chronicle echoing with his hearty, internal chuckles, to which his spirits were laughing with him, if not in sheer amusement at his lack of artistic ability.

As if it was only now that he was fully aware of the setting around him, Terith would somehow just sense the yielding of the sand storm as the winds dwindled into a gentle slur, the cave wells devoid of the haunting scratches of sand that had been prominent in the moments that passed them. He'd offer the girl beside him a short glance, flickering back between her and the treasure at his shoulder, where the golden trimmings were definitely something of high pay.

He'd smile, but mostly to himself, as he spotted a corner where the walls seemed to open up in another, arching pathway, just over yonder, where its mouth were to be covered with a large, metal door that rusted at its hinges. Their little scuffle was being beckoned to a close, it seems.

"I guess that ends that." he said, approaching the exit with slow steps as if to gesture Summer to follow him. "I'm going to get this auctioned for a bit, you can come along if you like. We'll split the pay."

His shoulders would shake a little as he stretched, generating an audible click to his old bones. It was a satisfying sound, as if it were the end to everything, the curtain call to the show, the encore and any sort of poetic farewell. But the swordsman was well aware that his and Summer's little coup-de-etat was far from actual closure. If he didn't know any better, it was hardly anything but the first chapter to a wonderful story ahead.

My, wasn't he poetic? He'd chuckle a little, dragging the large brass doors open with a huff and causing the day to close with a sentimental gesture of camaraderie and a potential for future meetings as the sunrise caught their figures with the shine of a morning untold.
