    ------------------------------------------------

    Job Title:
    Demon's Call

    Rank:
    B Rank

    Player Requirements:
2x C Rank or the equivalent (minimum)
    Maximum 4 Mages

    Job Requirements:
    7,500 Words Minimum
    10x Rolls Minimum

    Job Location:
    Hargeon Town

    Job Description:
Located deep within the bowels of Hargeon, buried under time itself a door has recently been unearthed due to the chaos caused by the tentacle monster's attack on the port town of Hargeon... Behind this door is an entire world where crystals make up the bulk of the light sources, with the other source being lanterns, candles, braziers, and other forms of fire. Inside this world lives a strange form of being, clad in black with razor sharp teeth and terrible grins to show them off. These creatures have indoctrinated several humans, those too foolish to have left the door alone, and caused them to steal something precious from one of the more wealthy citizens of Hargeon who was lucky enough to be outside the disaster zone when the tentacles came crashing down.

The one who had his item stolen has asked that any mage who desires fair pay for exploration, and possibly bloodshed galore delve into the depths of whatever hell lay beyond the door. Entering this door, you will have no prior knowledge of what lays inside unless you have an ability that would permit such a thing. The world you find, as described above, is filled with glowing crystals, glowing plants, and dark figures that dart in and out of your line of sight so quickly you can't track it... Nearby you see a stream of glowing water, along with several other streams equidistant from each other, all flowing in the same direction. If you follow the streams, you'll notice eventually that they all seem to be converging since they're all moving towards each other, but all still equidistant from each other... Eventually you come to a large stream that's shallow but wide where all the smaller ones converge leading into a cave system. This is where you'll begin encountering enemies as you're attacked from behind and every other directer, even below as you go deeper and deeper into the caves...

Those who can sense demons will notice that these creatures are in fact demons. If for some reason a Demon Slayer can't sense these are demons, they'll notice that the demons are taken down much easier by them than any ally they have with them... The demons here take double damage from Holy/Purifying magic, as well as Holy Heal spells. Light magic does not have this effect unless it is Holy/Purifying light magic. ((These enemies do not have HP gauges. It is up to the RP'r to come up with a sensible fight for each enemy. Any references to blocking does not require the use of a block dice, it simply means the RP'r is being told that the creature will block some attacks. If you roll a boss it is counted as 2x Strong. The boss will automatically spawn at any point you want after you roll 10 dice.))

    Enemies:
    Weak: Demon
A very large creature, standing 30 feet with 10 foot wide shoulders. Its arms are as thick as tree trunks, and its claws are a foot long. It doesn't seem particularly intelligent, but it does known how to swing its arms with a high degree of accuracy. It has moderate (20mph) speed, and isn't too keen on blocking attacks. Countering all its negatives, this guy is extremely durable...

    Normal: Demon
This one's only fifteen feet tall with four foot wide shoulders. They're faster than the other one, better at fighting too. This type dodges your attacks and blocks, unlike the larger version, and will even display a degree of unholy/corruption magic that's non-elemental. This magic can be consumed by God Slayers (all types). This creature is twice as fast as the larger version, and has just a bit more durability than it does. This creature will use its claws, and a strange type of jagged bladed weapon...

    Strong: Demon
This one is a bit smaller at 10 feet tall... It won't attack you initially, and while fighting it none of the others will attack you. You'll be constantly hearing whispers in your head, hundreds upon thousands of them all trying to pull you into insanity... While fighting, this creature has more speed than the "Normal" demon (60mph) and twice the durability. It can use a variety of magic, but nothing too advanced. The weapons this one uses are its claws and a sharp sword that it seems to be adept at using...

    ~~End of the Line~~
Entering a massive chamber, the sound of drums can be heard... lining the walls are hundreds of demons of varying sizes... Many of them are small, impish looking things with sticks in their hands that are being used to slam the drums. Others are a mix of the ones previously fought... and in the middle of this chamber is a six foot tall demon. On the opposite of the chamber is a pedestal with the stolen item.

This one is shaped exactly like a human, and seems to be wearing some sort of oriental styled combat robes. It wields a weapon made of pure unholy energy but for some reason even God Slayers can't consume it. This one can speak directly into your mind, and just like fighting the 10 foot demons, it sounds like hundreds of thousands of people whispering to you. Unlike the other type, this one can hold full blown conversations and will offer you a single opportunity to turn back and leave without the item, even let you know you can take some of the water from the stream as a token from the land and tell you what it does. It appears to be civil enough to grant you this... it won't tell you what the item is, or why he wants it unfortunately. If you take the water and leave you will gain no EXP, but you will gain the vial of Living Water. If you choose to stay, the demon will attack.

    Boss: Demon
A stated, it's 6 feet tall and looks like a human. Aside from the aforementioned sword, it also has two inch long claws that are every bit as sharp as any sword a master swordsman can make and be proud of... It uses very high level magic with a massive variety of effects from damage to crowd control to healing. It has the ability to increase its speed to move so fast that it seems to be teleporting, and is even able to unfold a pair of leathery wings and fly. Once defeated the other demons will vanish, but you will have a gut feeling that he's far from being dead..

    Reward:
    Normal B Rank EXP

The first time you complete this job you will be given two things:
1 - A set of Strong Rank armour.
2 - If you took some of the water from the glowing stream, you will have a vial of Living Water. Each time you complete the job (once a month max) afterwards, you will be awarded with the vial of Living Water only. This item has a 1 use only effect; meaning that you have 1 use per vial period. Once used, that vial is gone and you do not start the next thread with it. You can take some of the water even if you decide to fight the boss... just scoop some in a glass on your way out.

Effect: When someone dies, you may use the Living Water to resurrect that person with 50% HP and 50% MP. All of their spells will be on a 2 post cooldown, any spell that was already on cooldown will have its cooldown increased by 2 posts. All passive effects will be 100% inactive for 2 posts. If you are the one who dies, someone else must use the item on you.

    ~Credits to Niyol.

    Snowflake

cold as ice swift as wind
    the whole world i'll acquire

    Tip. Tap. Tip. Tap.

The sound of water droplets reverberated against the walls of the bathroom, breaking the silence that reigned supreme a mere second ago. The water that filled the bath tub was crystal clear as Snowflake stared down at her own pale hands that were submerged underneath. Sapphire hair was drenched wet, her hair turning into a deep shade of gray as drops of water cascade down her face. Fluttering her eyes closed, the girl placed her arms on the rim of the tub and tilted her crown, leaning it against the wall of her bathroom. The warmth from the water soothed her body and plumes of vapour seeped out of the bath, yet unable to escape out of the room. For a brief moment, the young girl remained motionless, savouring the exquisite pleasure of warmth.

Soon, she surfaced her naked body out of the water whilst grabbing a towel and encased herself inside the thick piece of cloth. Her cheeks were flushed from the heat that was locked inside the bathroom but cooled down immediately once she was greeted with cold air that whisked into her room. Beige curtains were blown in at one end and out the other like pale flags, making a shadow on her cushioned bed as wind does on the sea. A knock resounded against her door, a young voice requesting her permission to enter the room. “Come in.” she beckoned, her tone as icy as the wind that blew through the north. A young boy aged within his early teen years, entered the room and his large eyes widened in shock upon facing such a sight in front of him, cheeks flushed deep red in embarrassment as he would avert his gaze towards the ground.

Ma-Madam, I was asked to deliver a letter from the L-Lord Commander.” he stuttered, while clutching onto the piece of envelope and handed it out to her. “Thank you.” she murmured, taking the letter from his hands as she watched him shuffle out of her room. Unfolding the piece of paper, the wizard read over the lines written on these brittle yellow pages. After being aware of the whole situation, the girl placed the paper on the table in front of her and began dressing up herself into her usual attire. Snowflake looked up at her own reflection in the mirror, her eyes, that shone the colour of stormy gray. She let her hair fall past her back, in its unheld state while her crown was neatly tied into a French braid.

    -----------------------------

The duelist wandered around swirls and eddies of people that swarmed about in Hargeon Town, after going through a monotonous journery of riding a train for hours. The place was bizarre and loud; something she had an aversion to and had never been fond of big crowds. A sigh left her lips in exasperation as she forced her way through the streets flooded with families, children, lovers as well as the elderly, to reach her destination – the centre of the Hargeon Town.

it may sound absurd but don't be naive
even heroes have the right to bleed
His visit as of then would mark a grand centennial for a wanderer of his nature, considering it a sworn oath of sorts to restrict himself to a limited amount of ventures to one city alone, unless it was strictly business. But Hargeon was different, for it did not hold some sort of allure or charm for his travel-weary soul, but it simply felt like it held so much to offer in terms of business for a "working" wizard like him, as if the malevolent intentions were greatly drawn to its center without much reason or thought. The swordsman would idly wonder if a grand curse was chained to Hargeon's core many moons ago when the tides ceased, a piece of paper crumpling under his fingers as he skimmed over the words again with a brazen gaze. His steps would all but falter as he addressed the message properly, the crowds that filtered through the streets of Hargeon shuffling quietly around his still figure.

The request was none the stranger, as he hardly had much to go by from the words alone. All that he could understand was that there was a door, and though there were few who braved the depths beyond it, there have been none who came out to tell the tale of what lies in wait. For a normal man with not much verse in things like these, the door would seem like a horror tale that old hags would tell their young lords before they went to bed, but for Terith who's seen quite the number of phenomena even larger than a mysterious door, the whole situation seemed nothing too threatening so long as it was dealt with quickly, and that was coming from someone whose existence was born in a world where the magic was but fantasies from videogames and books.

The young blonde folded the paper over its neat valleys for the last time before letting it rest in his left breast pocket, a silent sigh released from his chest as he forged forward, moving past others with a haste that would befit the situation, his hood shadowing the make-shift bravery he upheld in his eyes. Terith wasn't entirely sure why such a day was dedicated to this one job alone, but it seemed far more interesting than the other things he'd found clipped unto the notice board for eager wizards.

"Follow the yellow brick road." he quoted, recalling a distant memory of an old novel he used to read during his university days, "Well, even if I did, I don't think I'll be meeting a nice wizard beyond the door."

Truth be told, however, that fleeting thought made him think of how he didn't entirely equate the possibility of the client posting the notice across several boards, perhaps even sending private requests, but if there was a chance that he'd encounter another soul who was particularly drawn to the request, then perhaps the riddles that surrounded said "door" would need less time to unearth, reveling in the idea of a joint force, promptly thinking of satisfying himself with the reward that lied in wait.

    Snowflake

cold as ice swift as wind
    the whole world i'll acquire

What would be so important that the Lord Commander, himself, demanded her to accomplish the job?

The thought lingered in her mind as Snowflake briskly walked past the crowd that roamed about the streets of Hargeon. Rowdy and packed, the town was as energetic as usual although it was something she disgustingly finds intolerable of. Snowflake had never been good with mobs of people nor loud places, instead she preferred the contradictory. The weather was warm and humid and her body broke out into a fine dew of perspiration. Strands of blue hair clung onto her damp neck and her clothes clutched onto her body like a child to its mother while the harsh gales blew across the undulating lands of Hargeon. Irritated by the heat, she released a sharp sigh and smoothed her gorgeous locks of hair over one side of her shoulder before fanning her neck desperately. Growing up in a country where it was winter all year round did not pay that much of an advantage to her since she had never experienced summer before. The heat was unbearable occasionally, although a warm, cozy afternoon was something she needed after a long day to relax to.

Hargeon was a town she had never been to before, but has heard or at least read it in the books that flooded her rooms and the castle’s library back in her kingdom. The young blue haired girl was unfamiliar with the streets, yet, strangely enough she did not seem to be struggling with the directions as if someone else was guiding the way for her. She found herself drawn towards the magical presence that overflowed the town. The crooked roads paved with cobblestones and red bricks led her the way to a single door, which was presumably located at the heart of Hargeon. Perplexed, the girl gazed at the door as if it might help her discover the answers to a thousand questions that crossed her mind. There was nothing unusual about the structure apart from it looking like a normal entrance to a building. Despite from how plain and boring it looked, she had a premonition of imminent danger of whatever was hiding beyond the door.

Surely enough, Snowflake was probably not the only one who was informed about the job; perhaps, even the entire town since there is quite a huge percentage of mages in Hargeon. Distracted with her own thoughts, her chain of thoughts was interrupted by a glint of blonde that flashed before her eyes and her attention would immediately glide towards a young man clad in armour. As silver pools crossed over the gaze of blue, fused with colours of diversity; her curiosity of this certain young man was piqued. A quick glance was enough to fathom out that he was a mage as a pang of satisfaction spread within her. She had not expected to stumble upon a young mage herself, but heck, she was fortunate enough to find a fellow who was in a similar situation as her.

it may sound absurd but don't be naive

When he could already make out the faint outline of the structure from his viewpoint, he realized that the hoard of people began to dissipate quickly, their gazes easily avoiding the direction that reeled towards the door. The swordsman took to this as the general opinion that labeled it until the very rust that coated its hinges -it was all too clear that the locality deemed it a threat as even nearby mothers tugged on their children urgently, eyes laced with worry and fear. Men of various ages briefly gathered their interests at the door, only to have their fickle spirits snuffed out by the sheer prospect of the unknown, several not even willing to come within a meter radius to survey the structure more carefully. He was clearly dissatisfied by the sets of eyes that followed his figure as he approached it with little hesitance, though his knuckles were pale against the hilt of his blade, his thumb glossing over the fabric webbing.

Upon his arrival, however, he initially anticipated the lack of other participants, considering how the other 'wizard-like' figures were but failed promises, coming and going with the same expression of contempt. But that wasn't the case entirely when he drew closer. A splash of bright blue had him tilt his head towards that figure in question, gaining quite a bit of his interest as his senses responded to the concentration of power that the woman housed within her. The swordsman assessed the girl to be a wizard of equal terms as he was currently, but her being in a more specific view -her alignment, her reasons, her general abilities were entirely different matters that he'd have to properly question by instilling a conversation, and he was clearly a little awkward in that sense when he regarded her feminine aura, so simply approaching her proved difficult without Terith scratching his head a bit in a fit of embarrassment.

"Um...pardon me, miss," he began, sporting a small smile, "But are you perhaps interested in what's behind the door as well?"

He doesn't really understand why he felt so eclipsed by the woman, but he did try his best to find a sort of leverage to steady himself from appearing too incompetent to her, anyway. Whether or not they'd be working together were to be decided by her alone, as he was more than prepared to tackle the forces with someone else at hand.

The door was undoubtedly the strangest occurrence that had happened in the bowels of the town as it attracted attention of the people wandering on the streets, their curious eyes fixed on the object.

’Does anyone know what this is about?’

’Why is this strange door here?’

Whispers and chatters erupted around her as they questioned among themselves and their peers about the strange appearance of the door, although no one dared to open the entrance and see the mystery behind it. The questions kept being thrown around followed by the wrong accusations of the people as their voices rose in pitch by the moment. The girl merely closed her eyes and released an exasperated sigh, silently wishing she could escape from the rowdy situation. Her fingers were gently curled around the hilt of her sword while her silver hues wander off to a young man who approached her; the person she had presumed as a mage. A question was directed towards her, rather timidly as if he was embarrassed to be engaged into a conversation with her. The young man appeared to be slightly taller than her, perhaps a few inches and tilted her head back in a small angle to level their eye contact.

The girl shifted her body so that she was entirely facing towards him and briefly descended her crown before raising it upwards again, gesturing a nod. “Yes.” She mumbled as a response to his question, her voice barely a whisper. “I’m assuming you are too.” Her eyes trailed off towards the door once again and noticed how the men among the crowd was forcing one another to enter through the door. “Do you suppose we should go in?” Snowflake was eager to discover the mystery although her expressions and the features on her face remained absent-minded, as usual. Intrigued by the man she had just met, she certainly did want to learn more about him despite how she is a woman with a lack of curiosity and very little words.

He opted to raise a brow at her response, albeit only for a bit, as to not alarm her with a wrong impression. She was surprisingly soft-spoken, and her aura seemed to be a lot more gentler with her tone of voice that somehow hinted at a willingness to adopt to a minor coup-de-etat with him, with the matters concerning the door before them, at the very least. There was still that unapproachable vibe coating her like a heavy fragrance, but he decided to consider it with a trivial sort of importance. There would be plenty of time to warm up to each other's presences, even if it wasn't expressed verbally. He'd be glad if the girl would allow herself to work with him harmoniously still, and whether or not she'd express her thoughts through spoken words was purely up to her own devising. So he adopted an open mindset then, his grin stretching just a bit further as he registered the prospect of a great experience with his naturally enthusiastic way of putting it.

"A lone door like this is sure to pique the interest of a traveling wizard like me." he chuckled, assuring her with an expression of interest, "I suppose we should. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?"

The swordsman offered her a nod as his hand worked its way towards the knob that was cold and ice-y beneath the skin of his palm. Although he visibly hesitated, he'd still resolve to free the door of its lock with a soft click, the wood creaking as he cracked it open. A howling wind blew over their bodies with a sharp gust, revealing the setting behind it to be adorned in glowing crystals and various flames held up in torches that lined the inner walls. He paid little attention to the fact that his hair was now skewed into a messier blonde mop, because all his interest was heavily directed to the world that they came to stumble upon.

Many a men who noticed him the door being opened eagerly crowded amongst themselves to take a glimpse of what lied behind the mysterious structure. Most of them were visibly intrigued, but some were somewhat disappointed at the finding. Nevertheless, the swordsman hung unto his interest with a generous amount of dedication to it. He moved back ever so slightly to give the girl some room, and gestured for her to go on ahead.

"Ladies first." he said, tilting his head in a more casual sort of bow.
