    The Ten Wizard Saints.

A group of the strongest Wizards in all of Fiore, appointed by the Magic Council to bring security and prosperity to the land. Throughout time, various Wizards, Aces and even Guildmasters had taken on the honoured title, but none were ever as strong as the Original Ten. The Wizard Saints were created for them, one millenia ago, to recognise their strength and contribution to law-abiding society. The Originals were rumoured to be far stronger than any Saint who had risen since, with some hypothesising that one of the Originals could beat all Ten of the current Saints at once.

Throughout their long and prosperous careers, the Originals collected a vast trove of treasures and artifacts that they hid away from society for reasons unknown. The location was lost upon their deaths, and although many had searched, Wizards and Saints alike, none had ever located it. The very idea of a trove of Saintly weapons turned more into a myth as time went on, until even the youngest child didn’t believe in its existence.

Until, of course, somebody claimed to find it.

A renowned treasure hunter by the name of Harper Goldenshine and his band of Hunters, the Gem Brothers, had claimed to find a way to traverse the uncharted Ancient Ruins and had located the trove. His achievements were legendary, but so too was his misuse of power -so much so, in fact, that the Magic Council had sent out a request, one such as they had not issued in many years. Their desperation was such that they had not only contacted those Guilds that they recognised as Legal, but also those that they didn’t associate with - the Dark Guilds.

The job was so widespread that even those Wizards without a guild were being contracted in to help. The Council in Era had called for the trove to be rescued from the Hunter and delivered safely to the museum that the Council presided over - but not without reward of course. They were so desperate for help, in fact, that they had offered a reward beyond mere jewels - one item from the trove itself.

And so, Garlim had taken the job. He had travelled to Era personally and the Council had sent him on his way, on the long trek to the Ancient Ruins. Days later he had arrived, but he wasn’t ready to begin just yet. The Council had told him that another was to join him, a wizard known as Torian Pace. From there, the pair would first have to find Harper or one of his Gemstone Hunters, because only they knew the way to the trove. The other wizard had apparently already been sent towards the ruins, so he was to meet him there.

His journey was long and arduous, but he travelled with good speed - he traversed the land regularly and knew of several shortcuts through some of the most dangerous regions of Fiore. So quickly did he travel that he arrived without any sign of the other wizard in sight. The ruins were decrepit, but their shape was still discernible. Several tunnels led into the labyrinth of caves beneath where the trove was waiting - as well as the Treasure Hunters within.

Garlim was leaning against one of the old archways outside of the ruins in the noon sun, a cigarette burning in his mouth. A pair of dark sunglasses covered his eyes, and his signature jacket was laid over one of the nearby fallen stones. Sweat beaded his forehead, but he showed no signs of discomfort - he was used to the heat.

In the distance, the Lightning Wizard saw a figure traversing the ruins. He headed towards a tunnel before collapsing onto the ground - this had to be the other Wizard that the Council had sent. Garlim pushed himself from the wall, grabbing his jacket and slinging it over his shoulder before beginning to walk over towards the figure.

As he approached, he saw that the man was reading some sort of parchment. Assuming that it was something to do with the job, he drew closer. ”Torian Pace?” he said, looking down at the man. Only after he spoke did he realise that perhaps the man was one of the treasure hunters - but it was too late to take it back now.

Post by Terith 31st August 2016, 7:30 pm

At first, they were only footsteps, having alarmed him initially that his palm made a move to slightly draw his sword from its sheath, but then the mere mention of his pseudonym strung his senses with a jolt, abruptly causing a shift in his immediate attention that made him swivel his head towards the voice, a pair of blue eyes focusing on the figure before him. From the entrance, he'd see a masculine outline with a mop of blonde hair much like his, urging Terith to raise a brow in surprise as he briefly wondered if the heavens were accommodating his pleas with a sense of irony. Having sensed no sort of threatening malice from the man offered him a little leeway for judgment, however, so the swordsman simply stood, addressing the individual with a slight tilt of the head.

"Aye, here to stop a few gold hoarders, apparently." he said, keeping one idle hand on his weapon, "And who might you be, good sir?"

He realized that perhaps asking him of his purpose here would appear too cautious, so he vehemently voided the urge to string a few more questions into the conversation, lest he appear much too spiteful to a man who meant him no sort of harm. At best, the other blonde were to be another wizard whose best interest was either in the justifiable end to Goldshine's greed, or earning himself a part of the Wizard Saints' treasury. Nevertheless, Terith was never too ungrateful to refuse the prospect of a new ally, and though his trust was considerably difficult to earn, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with the stranger that made him want to brandish his blade against him.

Maybe it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to ask, after all.

He ushered in a tiny, inviting grin unto his face, trying his best to release any sort of tension that the man might've gained from his initial arrival there. "Is it safe to assume that you're here for the same reason?" he asked, one of his arms gently raising the job pamphlet he'd been holding unto, the words catching the light from the entryway.

Post by Garlim 5th September 2016, 10:31 am

When the seated man spun his head around quickly in alarm, Garlim felt his muscles tighten. He subconsciously reached for the magic within him, letting it rest just below the surface of his skin, ready to be summoned at a mere moment's notice.

But, alas, there was to be no fight. The man rose to his feet in a manner that was in no way confrontational, although he did keep a hand upon the sword at his hip - a precaution, no doubt. Garlim too didn’t let his guard drop entirely, but did his best to hide his tense feelings.

”Garlim - Garlim Yuki,” he said, nodding in greeting. The man didn’t seem to want to shake hands or anything, so he didn’t bother extending his own - perhaps that would be too risky in an environment where they were engaging with an unknown enemy.

When Torian held up the job pamphlet, Garlim let out a sigh of relief. He doubted one of the treasure hunters would have a job advertisement about stopping themselves - so he must have found the right person. He reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out a similar piece of parchment, waving it slightly in the strong sunlight.

”It certainly looks that way,” he said, a grin forming on his own face. He re-deposited the parchment within his jacket pocket and slung it over his shoulder, taking a few steps closer to entryway near to them, gazing inside with squinted eyes. ”So, did they go in this way?” Garlim asked, half-turning to look at his new-found partner. He didn’t want to end up going in the wrong way, only to find that they were surrounded - or at least, not until he could trust this man a bit more.

Post by Terith 9th September 2016, 10:14 pm

"Nice to meet you, then, Garlim." he replied, dropping his hand from its position on his blade, "I'm pleased to know that we've the same objective."

Although the formality was more than enough, the swordsman couldn't help but feel the situation becoming too professional for simple words to express...was he too cautious? They were both on guard for some reason, perhaps trust being far too soon for either party to be given out at that point. Regardless, he'd regard the man's introduction with a nod, committing his name to memory. Having produced the same piece of paper would slightly alleviate his doubts, but whether or not their alliance would be beneficial had to be decided by the later events, at the very least.

Terith folded the request back into his breast pocket, his attention shifting unto the light that leaked from the end of the tunnel. "Seems so." he said, taking a few steps forward as his first initiative. "We won't know until we find out for sure though, right?"

He wasn't too sure if Harper was smart enough to leave a trail of traps in case someone else meddled in his affairs, but he was never the type to not over-think things. At best, his carefulness became the product of his trivial worries, regardless if they were just pure assumptions and he might have just been overestimating a common man for a genius. Nevertheless, he'd regard the path with a level head, inspecting the bricks that made the walls and the vines that sprawled about on the floor as his eyes shifted back and forth between the empty space. After assessing that there weren't any misleading hints or any rigged gears between the sandstones, the swordsman made a move to walk even further, reaching the opening with a huff. Above the structure were several writings written in an ancient script that he'd never seen before, weathered away into the stones due to age, and only slightly illuminated by the exterior light source that wafted from the entrance. But with what little he had as knowledge on Ishval itself didn't seem to prove useful at that time, so he merely shrugged off the thought of translating it with a sigh, futile as it was in the first place. If it were a warning, then Goldshine and his loonies must've dispatched the threat beforehand, otherwise, they'd have no opposition if they were taken out by the traps laid out by the Wizard Saints. As appealing as it was to simply saunter in for the treasure, a part of him would feel disappointment towards the gang whose reputation boasted many achievements that was unlikely for the mundane. It'd defeat the purpose of the venture in the first place, and would also mean one less challenge to conquer. In his case, it was a sour loss.

Ushering himself into the door, the light would make him squint momentarily, blinking back as the thin magical barrier wavered against his figure. Eventually, the light dwindled to reveal a circular room with several openings and spiraling stairs, the floor lowering a little at the center to accommodate the ruins of what seemed to be a large fountain. The air was thick with the smell of earth and moss and vine, although the latter had indications that they were shredded apart by a sharp object that he couldn't quite distinguish. The silence that surrounded the area was uncanny and suspicious, not even a peep or an echo, much less the murmur of the scheming men from beneath the shadows.

The swordsman made a move to brandish his weapon carefully, avoiding the prospect of alarming their targets with the noisy clang of metal. If they'd sense his arrival, then they should have taken the necessary course of action to deal with it, unless they set up a bastion somewhere else.

"...Weird." he muttered, furrowing a brow as he scanned the area again.

Post by Garlim 20th September 2016, 11:17 am

Garlim watched patiently as his companion began to look around the entrance to the tunnel. He took his time examining the minor details before him, taking note of the ancient writing above the doorway and even the vines that littered the floor. The Lightning Wizard watched with growing amusement - he had never been one for due care himself. Maybe it came from the lightning that bubbled away within him, but he had always been quick to act in situations, and to ask any questions later - if there was anybody left to ask, of course.

After what seemed like an age, Torian entered. Garlim waited a few seconds before following just in case there actually was some kind of deadly booby trap, but it seemed unlikely. Before he passed through the doorway he gave one last glance backwards, as if saying goodbye to the bright world outside.

His eyes adjusted slowly to the darkness of the tunnel, but after a few moments he could see enough to make our their surroundings. The stone in here was of the same material to the ruins outside - as he would have expected. Several doorways were carved into the stone around them, leaving them with a tough decision to make. The smell of damp quickly assaulted his nose, causing him to gag slightly - if there was one thing he hated, it was moistness.

”It’s freezing in here,” he muttered objectionably, putting his jacket back on with a shiver. He continued to look around for several seconds, but found himself unable to make the decision himself. ”So, any ideas?” he asked, walking nonchalantly to the middle of the room. He peered into the decrepit fountain with interest, as if looking for some kind of clue that would reveal where they had to go.

Gold Hoarders Empty Re: Gold Hoarders

Post by Terith 24th September 2016, 3:12 am

The mere acknowledgment of the frothy air that settled among the ruins had Terith curling a hand at the knot of his cloak in response to Garlim's words, tightening the sheet across his figure as if he only recently felt the chill that came with the empty spaces, having been devoid of anything but dust and the slow-growing greenery for a considerable amount of time. "You've got that right..." he whispered, holding back a shiver that threatened to creep up the curves in his spine, "Makes you wonder just how empty this place originally was before everything."

In an attempt to busy himself and get his blood going, Terith idly rolled a leg back in a kick, causing a sandy pebble to skid across the floor with a crisp clicking sound to each spin it took. His brazen blue stare would watch its rotations as he thought of what they'd end up doing, despite having no more than a morsel of assumption to answer the unspoken question that asked just where were Goldshine after they found themselves in that particular area. "As for what we're going to do, we should at least look for any sort of sign that might point us in the same direction that Harper wondered off to." he spoke, sporting hesitance in his expression as the tip of his shoe met the another pebble, this time just a bit more forceful. His line of vision somehow automatically followed the path it traced as it rolled off into a darker area, interestingly enough, the small amount of dust that leaped off the old sandstone pavement making it easier to spot the pebble despite the lack of light in that particular corner. It's jumping sounds would all but yield as it landed into a soft pile of....something. He honestly couldn't tell what it was, as the lack of any sort of noise apart from a very faint shuffling seemed greatly perplexing.

A fine crease outlined the shape of his brow as he neared the remains of some long, slithering vine-like object that seemed to have started browning from age. And after vouching to investigate them at a closer angle, Terith bent at the knee to further inspect it, regardless if there had not been any light to provide him a clearer image of it. The texture was rough and lumpy as he slid a hand over it's structure, indefinitely twining the flimsy object around his palm. If he didn't know any better, it resembled the composition of a common role of rope that had been stretched out, digging it's way through the darkness of the ancient arching doorway before him.

"Hey...um, Mr. Yuki?" he started, having succumbed to his old habit of favoring honorifics if there had been any lack of interaction prior, "I think I found a piece of rope...I just don't know where it actually leads to-"

His voice is visibly cut off as his arm involuntarily tugged at the object with noticeable force, the rope thinning into a straight line as if it were tied to a large, immovable object on it's other end. Curiously, the swordsman would extract one more pull from it, and when it appeared futile to actually get a hold of something, he'd free the rope from his grasp, resolving that it may have been a fluke of sorts, or maybe something that previous travelers have left in their quest to circumnavigate these labyrinths.

"...Doesn't seem to be any of use though." he said, dejectedly, deciding that it was better to ignore the rope and move unto more important hints.

    Click.

Something cold and metallic, something like a gun muzzle, lightly punctured his shoulder as the blonde took his first step forward. He'd hear a low, gruff voice mutter something behind him, threateningly, and Terith could only guess that the man had a finger slowly creeping near his trigger.

"...You lost, buddy?" he heard him say, prompting the swordsman to move one hand down to his hip, where his weapon shacked violently in its sheath.

"We wouldn't be if you lead us to your boss nicely, you know." Terith said, bearing a serious expression despite the lightly jesting tone in his voice. The man behind him was clearly not amused by this, since it seemed he started favoring the idea of lowering the muzzle closer to the center of his back.

    "Thought so. You vermin!"

Sensing that the bandit had an intent of pulling the trigger, Terith wouldn't dare waste the next second as he hurriedly extracted his blade from its protective casing. The sound of metal against wood was alarming and loud, even more so as it was accompanied with a flourish of bright blue and the uncanny pulsing sensation of an activated spell. His figure would all but vanish into emptiness as his body was engulfed by his magic, transporting him to a location that his mind vividly registered.

'Staircase.' he thought, his lips digging a frustrated frown into his jaw. 'Staircase, and no where else!'

Luckily, the spirit of Danzo was ever forgiving, and despite his vessel's demanding notion, it was quickly dealt with by the quiet and introverted illusionist, simply offering Terith his signature 'hmph' as he put his skills to work. Beneath his feet, the swordsman would feel the steeped ground of a man-made staircase, and after he'd settle himself nicely, his eyes would open up to a better lit area, thankful that the Tejun saved his skin for the umpteenth time.

But the more unfortunate thing was how the bandit wasn't the type to be unmatched in terms of intelligence. After the blonde swordsman left for the safety of the stairs, he immediately fished for a particular device from within his pockets, and as he spoke into it, his voice seemed to reverberate around the hall, seeping into the cracks in the walls and traveling through the various passages.

"I need back-up! Area 1! There's two of them! One pulled the rope, thought it was the boss, but it's just trouble!"

Apparently, his message was well-received, much to the bandit's chagrin. The sound of hurried steps would quickly fill the space, and the swordsman would only scowl as he noticed several more guns taking his head for their target. It was surprising to note their numbers as they poured out from nearly every entrance that wasn't blocked by fallen debris, proving that they were simply taking refuge in the spaces beyond the dark openings.

Below him, Terith would watch several more of these would-be treasure hunters grin like bastards as they circled Garlim with their cutlasses, where the pale silvery metal of their blades caught a bit of the sunlight that wafted from a small opening in the ceiling. Was it an attempt to appear menacing? It'd seem a bit cliche if it were.

"Tch." he spat, settling into a particularly rigid stance that he'd come to know all these months as a rookie wizard. "So much for looking for clues..."

Post by Garlim 25th September 2016, 6:58 am

Garlim gave a slight start as the other man addressed him as Mr. Yuki. A grin crept unwillingly onto his face as he tried to remember the last time anybody had offered him any sort of honorific title, and found himself coming up short - the most usual title applied to him was simply ‘bastard’.

He took a few steps forwards towards Torian, his eyes scanning the floor around him and taking note of the rope. His eyebrow rose slightly as he looked into the doorway that it had apparently leaked out of, his mind whirring with possibilities. Could it really be this easy to find the treasure hunters? When the other man yanked on the rope several times to no avail, Garlim felt his temporarily bright attitude deflate.

And then, out of the darkness, a third voice joined their party. It was clearly a man, and he sounded like a dangerous one at that. His voice was full of threat, and Garlim didn’t think this would be the kind of guy to mess around with. For the moment, though, he stood his ground in the middle of the room. He was certainly curious of his partner - and even more curious as to what his magic would be, if indeed he had any.

The scene escalated quickly, and before Garlim had a chance to leap to Torian’s aid he had vanished, leaving behind the remnants of magic in his wake. So the sword was his magic? It was a strange one to be sure, but it certainly seemed powerful enough. Barely a moment later he re-appeared on the stairs that they had walked down, seemingly unaffected by the potential threat to his life.

The Lightning Wizard couldn’t help himself - he raised both of his hands and clapped slowly for his partner. That was a seriously cool piece of magic. As he did so, however, he heard their aggressor talking behind him. He spun on the spot quickly, just in time to see the man beginning to remove a walkie-talkie from his mouth. With a growl of anger, he shot his hand forwards and released a small burst of lightning that collided with the device, knocking it from the man’s hand in a flaming ball of destruction.

    But he was too late.

A whole crew of men started to pour into the room, splitting themselves out between the two wizards. Several more with guns moved to the foot of the stairs to intercept Torian, whilst the sword-wielding bandits moved Garlim’s way. They circled him before he had a chance to back up against a wall, and he chastised himself silently. A small grin came onto his face as he heard Torian’s words floating down from the staircase, and he gazed up at him.

”Well, this just makes our job easier. Just make sure to keep one of them alive,” he said with a devilish grin, clenching his fists in preparation for the fight to come. For a few seconds nobody moved, giving Garlim a chance to get his bearings on the situation. ”Six against one? That doesn’t seem fair to me,” he said, a flash of lightning crossing his eyes. ”You should have brought some backup.”

A concentrated look took its home upon Garlim’s face as he let out a roar, his arms shooting outwards with his fingers splayed. Lightning leapt from his core to the tips of his fingers, but when it reached them it didn’t stop. A huge light filled the area as the lightning continued outwards from his body, spreading in a massive circle with him at the epicentre. It crackled with violent intensity, and for a second the dark room was lit as brightly as the noon sun - but only for a second. The lightning disappeared, leaving six singed bandits in its wake - singed, but still standing. Just.

”Well, I guess we’ll just have to up the tempo a bit,” he said, shaking his arms out. On the second shake another burst of electricity leapt along them, moving to his hands and remaining there as a coating around his knuckles. Without further warning he leapt forwards towards the bandit straight ahead of him, his hands moving quickly to punch at him any way he could.

His first three punches landed without reply, but then the treasure hunter seemed to remember the sword in his hand. It swept down in a huge arc, but Garlim was quick on his feet. He sidestepped from it and sent another flurry of blows at the man’s side, sending him sprawling backwards onto the dusty, dirty ground. He spun on the spot just in time to duck below a blow aimed at decapitating the wizard, kicking out at the treasure hunter’s legs from his low vantage point. He fell to the ground, leaving him easy prey to a quick kick to the head, apparently knocking the man unconscious.

But then, the treasure hunters grew clever. All four of the remaining sword-wielding bandits approached him with swords pointed directly at him, leaving him nowhere to escape to. He considered releasing another blast of lightning, but he could feel in his gut that his magic wasn’t up to another blast of such intensity - not just yet, at least. His mind began calculating escape routes from the situation he had found himself in, but it went blank. The four were growing closer, and he was surrounded - there was no way out.

The treasure hunters raised their swords as one, and then delivered the swift killing blow downwards. But, at the last second, a huge blast of lightning erupted from Garlim’s position. The treasure hunters didn’t hesitate though, continuing their strikes - and their sword hit the ground. The Lightning Wizard was gone, seemingly disappeared within the bolt of lightning that had blasted his position. They looked dumbfounded at each other, but none could seem to locate the Wizard.

”Not looking for me, I hope?” came a voice from high up. All four of the treasure hunters looked upwards to see Garlim sitting atop the old fountain, his jacket slung over his shoulder. He let it fall slowly, landing in the bowl of the fountain, before standing up. His eyes moved slowly over to Torian, but his eyes hadn’t adjusted enough to see that far in the dark - lightning certainly had its downsides in dark environments like this.

Gold Hoarders Empty Re: Gold Hoarders

Post by Terith 2nd October 2016, 8:29 am

In his head, the swordsman liked to think that his offensive measures were nonetheless refined, thankful that his spirits were apt in that regard. However, it was his limited defensive actions that made him just a tad bit worried, if not for his own safety and the actual progression of this request to some degree. He wasn't the least bit fazed of a hunter's weapon per se, but there numbers were somewhat daunting regardless if they were clearly unmatched for either of them in terms of power.

And granted, not many were too keen on fighting a barrage of bullets with just a sword, since healing several gunshot wounds was both cumbersome and painful to begin with. And realizing that he had nothing to truly manage those muzzles, he'd have no better proposals from his spirits apart from reconciling with the brute imprint that made his home in his white hood.

He visibly cringed at the thought, but if weren't for alarming position he was in, then maybe he might've decided against it. There was no time for second chances, evidently, so he could only ever manage a stiff jaw with his decision to refer to the spirit of Hanzo, who grunted in his millennial sleep at the mention of his name. Of course, it was always a common thing to have the spirit be extremely stubborn at the most unreliable situations. With a hesitance, the swordsman hurriedly dug into one of his pockets, digging through it with an urgency as it shuffled for a soft puff of fur that mewled at his frantic movements.

Muttering something akin to a command to the ball-like item, Terith would eye the army of men with an unwavering glare, watching them lace their fingers hurriedly at their triggers. A click, and then the sharp smell of gunpowder, and once more, a stream of silver that singed his nerves with adrenaline, rapidly charging his due response with a single, forefront thrust of his arm. This action would cause the discharge of a circular object from beneath the confines of his palm, an inflating sound breezing through the space before revealing a large, fat cat from a dust cloud.

"You got it, boss!" it managed to say, just as the tip of the bullets hit its buoyant body with a plop. The sound further adapted a stretching quality of noise as the bakaneko thinned out, absorbing their impact up to the point that it yielded any future chance of a ricochet...or didit, really? With a meow, the strange feline released the cloistered bundle of bullets from its hold, aiming at the gunmen who were foolish to gawk like sitting ducks at the appearance of the bakaneko. Terith bit back a chuckle as the rapid return of their attacks caused the hunters to scatter out of their formation, soiling whatever strategy they had with an unexpected disturbance. Although, would they really consider Nikuko something worth a stare? As far as he knew, Ishval seemed to produce many other things like dragons and demons, so his little cat...thing didn't seem to be anything fancy in their standards. Perhaps the hunters weren't as special as they opt to be.

But with bygones being bygones, Terith would let the matter fester with a click of his fingers, urging his bakaneko to retreat from the scene, much to its disappointment that was made clear thanks to its whiskers twitching to an irritated beat. As it shrunk, the swordsman made it a point to administer one more request to the spirit Hattori, hoping to nab his attention with a bit of pseudo-hostility.

'Memento Mori!' he urged, his figure fizzing with his ethernano as he attempted to activate another Tejun as the men hurriedly unloaded and reloaded their barrels. 'Goddammit Hanzo, I said...MEMENTO MORI!'

'...Ugh. You are too noisy!' the spirit bellowed, unable to further ignore the vessel's commands as he clasped his arms together as a way of formulating his focus, 'I will grant you this, then, but do not come to me when you cannot resist the pain.'

Without a second wasted, a burning sensation crept up his skin as the material of his hood seemed to all but cling to his being. The resulting action caused a persistent sting to run along the length of his veins as several black pads singed his entire body with Hanzo's Resilience, the armor causing Terith's figure to darken significantly thanks to its relative color scheme. A faint pulse of energy slithered up his face, creating a line of vision atop his face mask that made specific locations across his eyesight glow with an uncanny blue hue -particularly bright on some of the more manageable vital points of his current target.

The swordsman grit his teeth intensely as the Resilience proved to bear no mercy on him just yet. However, it didn't seem to bother him in the slightest, or at least, up to a certain extent. Hence, there'd been a greater significance to his follow-up attack even if he was secretly seething under the pressure of donning the armor at his premature state. Nevertheless, the swordsman managed to drag himself up the exterior walls of the ruins, running vertically along the rough structures with notable haste, however, not without concurring several gun shot wounds slithering up the base of his armor's material.

Several pairs of stares eyed his trailing shadow with their guns aimed and their spirits wavering, perplexed at the blonde boy's change appearance, but even more so at the sudden and relentless blast of lighting that singed across their nerves and made their hairs stand on ends. Though it didn't cause much damage to their steely expressions, their bodies were still affected, and the swordsman would only guess that it was Garlim's handiwork that caused this sterling development. Managing a grin beneath his mask, Terith brought his steps to a halt as he took a decisive turn with his left leg, allowing his body to enter a free-falling motion, where his grip on his blade tightened with a conspicuous amount of force to it.

He'd count his breaths with a one, two, and three, feeling the webbing atop the handle as his brain waves conjured five physical copies of his weapon, while, in his head, the comforting outline of the elderly spirit Masamune lingered to and fro as he hummed to an old tune in a fond fashion. The blades appeared to have been produced from silver, but their paths were traced by blue streaks that almost made them appear to waver in and out of reality, what with being fabricated from thinly crafted magic courtesy of Masamune's Forge. A faint shredding sound cut through the space as the swords crafted their way with Terith's intentions guiding their trail, where he had his eyes digging deeply into the blue outline that the Resilience offered to him as part of...whatever it was, it surely didn't seem like Hanzo's grace or anything similar. Perhaps a bane, but not anything like a blessing, since it'd be unbecoming of the spiteful spirit.

The gunmen grunted through grit teeth as they received one more dose of a sharp stinging sensation slapping their vital areas, though it wasn't anything too major to have caused any blood to flare out of their veins, but just enough to disrupt their movements as the barrage of bullets seemed to cease indefinitely.

The purpose of the copies, for the lack of a better word, was something a little less complicated as one would initially expect. A fluke, maybe, but with his falling figure, the gunmen wouldn't expect his sword whipping back at them, the determined arch that made his arm swinging into a slash as he willed his body to bend despite being air-borne, sheathing his weapon again before separating its protective housing for a second time that day. The action caused his landing to come with a release of a blunt force that pushed the brutes around a good distance away, staggering their formations to a point. With a click to his blade, a more sharper outline could be traced as he sat cross-legged atop the dominion of the current Chronicle, drumming his fingers across his knee as the vessel called for his aid.

'Tch. Will I ever get some sleep with you always calling me out like this?' Hijikata muttered, idly offering his Hirazuki to be of use to Terith before flecking back to his own mannerisms, uninterested in the swordsman's current affairs. 'You will not hear the end of it if you use this improperly.'

Sparing the Shinsengumi a grin of apology did little to alleviate the spirit's tough gestures, so the blonde would simply move ahead with his plans, briefly passing his partner a thumbs up as his magic erupted with a thoroughly electrifying development, taking down two of his adversaries in a blink of an eye. Although, he might've been a tiny bit concerned if he'd even spot his figure from the lack of lighting. Still, though, having control over such an element must've given Garlim a considerable amount of advantage over his flimsy little sword tricks.

And from the corners of his brain waves, Terith swore he could hear an irritable coughing sound from beyond, signaling that Hijikata might've been a slightly offended with his sentiment for a bit. He'd mumble an apology off the tip of lips before proceeding to click at his soles, adapting the right position to, hopefully, execute the Hirazuki without flaw or hesitance.

OOC Note: Just a little something. Are we following the damage requirements? It's not really needed to follow the damage requirements unless you want to go on hard mode. owo

    Spells Used:
Masamune no Tanzō (Masamune's Forge) [Signature]: Masamune is widely recognized as Japan's greatest swordsmith, forging many blades such as daggers and tachis respectively. Though he can only converse with this spirit for a short moment, Terith feels Masamune's divinity and regards it with high respects. The old man is certainly pleased by Terith's efforts to understand the magic as a part of him and therefor has allowed him to temporarily borrow his forge to conjure up several ghost copies of his Etherblade that will instantaneously hurl themselves towards a designated direction at a max of 40 meters away from him, with a max speed of 20 meters/per second. All the ghost copies deal damage that ranks up with user and maxes out at S-rank.

Kigen-ryuku (The Origin's Force): The Kigen-ryuku is performed while the blade is still sheathed. The action of unsheathing it causes a burst of power that could be akin to the breakage of a layer of the vessel's inner being. It acts as a pushing force that renders surrounding targets to be thrust back ten meters away, affecting anyone within a five meter radius, dealing D-rank damage at the same time.

Hijikata no Haikyo (Hijikata's Ruin): Upon appealing, the strategic genius Hijikata Toshizo temporary lets his vessel borrow his signature Hirazuki, a versatile stance which begins with the user holding his katana parallel to the ground and up near the shoulder. From this position, a quick, powerful and extensive thrust can be initiated and then, if necessary, altered to form a sideways slash. This Hirazuki involves Terith dashing across an area after assuming the given stance, hitting his enemies with either the blunt or the sharp end of his sword.

The movement needed to conduct this action is made possible through Toshi's providence of a necessary speed stat, adding another 10 meters per second to his vessel's base speed. The Hirazuki will also rely on the number of blades that have been formed from Masamune's Forge, as they act as its "marker". Any target within a 30 meter radius that had been hit with a ghost copy of the vessel's Etherblade will automatically be hit by the Hirazuki in a spur of a moment.

The Harder You Fall, The Higher You Bounce (like a ball) [Pet Ability]: Nikuko's original body was once terribly damaged, and on that battered battleground did he meet the saniwa who spared it some mercy. There, she gave it a new body, one that would sustain its selflessness. This new composition allowed it to live in contentment, a life similar to a rubber ball.

This is one of Nikuko's special abilities that deal with being selfless. When activated, it is given two choices. One allows it to stretch its body into a pad that resembles a trampoline. In this stage, it can take thrown projectiles such as bullets or spells and launch them back.

Another will allow it to take damage for its master. Upon accumulation of said damage, it will then release an explosive energy that is of similar to the total power of its taken damage. These two different outcomes, however, cannot be used consecutively and both have their own respective drawbacks.

Izumo Yaegaki [Holder Weapon Ability]: The user's physical damage output (including weapons) is increased 150% provided that the weapon remains unsheathed.

Densetsu no Kaiko-Roku [Armor Ability]: The Legend of Hanzo continues on, this is a fact despite unspoken in this particular world. It persists in The Resilience as a manifestation of his morals and his knowledge in the form of a Memoir, an overwhelming feeling that the vessel feels when he adorns the armor. It's both soothing and pressuring, and while the battle wages on, the vessel will continue to keep his focus and will fear nothing, all the while finding a mastery in his very best asset and having a special immunity to penalties that abhors it. The vessel's current strength lies in his speed, so the Memoir offers its services by adding an extra 30 meters per second to his original speed, in addition to the fact that the Memoir negates any sort of speed penalty/ speed disadvantage that an enemy/environment chooses to instill into him provided that its equivalent to a C-rank (or B-rank) in terms of power.

Anoyo [Armor Ability]: Simply sporting the armor awakens the spirit of Hattori Hanzo, and with his clear commanding voice, the spirit is able to lend his eyes and his movements to the vessel, infusing otherworld-y feats into the user by molding his age old spirit into the vessel's soul. 'Hattori's Movements' refer to the user being granted unrestricted movement courtesy of Hanzo's blessing, allowing the user to walk freely across any given surface regardless of its state or fixture, making it possible for Terith to walk up walls or jump across trees in perfect succession.  'Hattori's Eyes' is also a namesake for the abiliy's way of automatically pinpointing a target's weaknesses by wrapping them in a blue aura only visible to the user (e.g. the locations of someone's vital organs or their pressure points).
