Smoke On The Fields

The air smelled fresh! It was that time of year wasn't it? The time when all the farmers would come out on to their fields and prepare their cops for harvest season. Or, all but one anyways. Mythica quietly walked along the dirt road in the large expansive fields, quietly humming a tune to herself. She seemed rather cheerful for reasons Unkown, but whatever they were, it usually wasn't good. To the common Mage anyways. But Mythica wasn't a common mage. Far from it. The word "Dark" was used to describe her type so she had learned, but she didn't seem to care all that much. She was just happy to finally reach her destination. Evident by the towering buildings in the distance signalling the Neutral Grounds.

Mythica continued to walk along the dirt road, surrounded by the blowing grass of the fields when she spotted a building that made her stop. The girl tilted her head to gain a better look, and confirmed this was indeed the barn she was looking for. Her smile became more of a dark smirk, and she began trudging through the field towards it. It seemed the owner of this specific barn had caused quite a bit of stifle among the other farmers. He hogged all the glory for himself during the harvest season, and it made her employers absolutely furious! Good thing they got her attention when they did! Mythica loved to deal with these kind of people. The attention joggers deserved to be punished for their selfishness. Such did the legal guilds of this world... Something she kept comparing it too. It must be a shame though, these crops did look healthy. Too bad she had to burn them all down, and anyone who dared get in her way.

Soon, Mythica arrived at the edge of the wooden building. Her red eye closley examined the wood as she leaned in to scratch its surface. It was rather old, evident by the red paint that chipped off the building as soon as her nail touched it. Giving a playful smirk, she slowly meandered her way around the building to get a look at the farm house. It was quiet. It was likely her old pal Jekins was eating his dinner at this very moment. That or getting ready for bed. The sun was slowly sinking on the horizon When Mythica decided how she'd go about this. The barn would be the first target, and probably the only thing she needed to light... The laws of nature would feed the rest of the field with burning flame. Mythica chuckled. A rather disturbing surprised for old Jekins when he looks out his window.

And so it was meant to be. Mythica silently trotted to the farm house. There were no sources of light except a small lantern hanging above the front door. To short to reach it, Mythica lifted a hand and summoned her trusty musket rifle. The weapon's handle manifested in her palm as the rest of the gun formed after a bright yellow light. Smiling, she reached upwards, the edge of the silver barrel managed to hook itself between the lantern's handle and the hanger it was hanging from. Flicking. It upwards, the lantern fell of, straight into Mythica's palm. Careful not to let it die out, she opened the latch slithery, and blew on the small flame to make it burn the wax faster, causing it's fire to become bigger... Within the next few minutes, she had smashed the lantern against the barn, and a large explosion of flames came from it as it started to burn the side of the wall, and the surrounding grass outlining the structure.

It was beautiful! The flames climbed higher and higher as the barn exploded into a fireball. The fields around weren't spared either, the yellow tongues of fire spreading to wherever they could. Soon a giant cloud of smoke billowed up from the destroyed structure. that's when Mythica heard the sound of a door not too far from her position slam open. Her smirk remained as she turned her body in the direction of the farm house. Jekins was furious, yelling in a rather colourful language as he came charging towards his property, garden hoe in hand. That's when he saw Mythica. The lone girl standing in the fields as they burned behind her during the sunset. However, what he did next proved he was too brave to be smart... He charged straight for her, raising his hoe about to strike. Mythica simply opened her palm and a flintlock manifested. She held it up as his eyes grew wide... And fired.
