    Job Desc:

Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain

The guild master traversed the particularly grey streets of the gasoline city, parchment in one hand, and the boys palm in the other as she led him down the rather unscathed sidewalk. Famine guessed not many people apted to walk in this city-- It was the vehicle landmark of Fiore afterall.

Today she had taken Ahote out of the guildhall for a real job, just like he deserved. Though she seemed stern Famine truly hated keeping him in the hall all day but it had best that he remained somewhere… safe.

It was today she realized that she couldn’t protect the boy forever...so the maker mage needed to teach him what was really right and wrong and make sure he’d never mix the two up. She glanced back down at the wrinkled page in her hand describing the job. ...This could be difficult but Famine would take teaching a child the works of robbery over murder any day ---Now murder… that came later and it was a lesson even Famine still had a hard time with.

    “Excited yet, Ahote?....”

There were a lot of things that Ahote was excited to do today, one of them being the fact he got to go on his first job with Famine, who happened to be the first person he was bound to when he woke up in the infirmary, so it was natural for him to be absolutely excited for this particular event.

On that note, he was excited to leave the fort for once. He was never given a clear answer as to why he couldn't leave, and only believed what the context clues had to tell him; safety purposes, of course. But he wasn't particularly sure what they were protecting him from, but he never really brought it up. Now, for this job, he had no prior knowledge about. Especially this city, Mo.. Moter Town? He didn't know what a Moter was or why someone would name a city that, but it wreaked of oil and other fluids, which caused Ahote to grow a little 'on edge' with his environment.

But instead of rejecting his suspicions, he embraced the discomfort he felt and often wandered away from Famine, only to quickly return to her side when he felt as if he was going too far.

Ahote walked alongside Famine, tempted to hold her hand, but some sort of invisible rejected his attempts, and was left with his hand awkwardly hanging loose to his shoulders, trying not to reach out for his, though his disappointment wasn't hard to figure out, seeing as he'd often sway his arm over to hers, and quickly retreat.

So instead, he looked up to her with innocent eyes and a smile that could warm anyone's heart. "Yeah! What are we doing? Is it going to be fun? M... Moter City smells funny. I saw a line of big, metal things with two wheels. It looked like a bike!" Ahote ran in front of Famine, beginning to make a big circle with his arms in a circular motion, determined to draw out a motorcycle with his hands, or at least trying to spark interest with her.

Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain

“Were going to play robbers, Ahote.” Famine smiled walking ahead of him before turning over her shoulder so to keep her eyes on the boy. She stopped just at the corner of the street beside a building; it’s large garage door drawn open just to her right opening into a dark gasoline scented cave. She nodded her head into the entrance, gesturing Ahote to follow close behind her own heels. Famine, having been born with the same nocturnal eyesight of an owl or cat had absolutely no trouble evading any obstacles inside such as the spare tires leaned up against the wall or the tipped over tool box which contents were strewn across the concrete tile.

Sitting against the step which lead into the particular building the garage protruded from was their client, Theobold Thawn. The middle aged man was something unique with his blousey hoodie, sagging denims, and the bandana hanging loosely about his neck; His particular style of dress simply screamed thug lyfe.

He got up both quickly and confused, going for the handgun clumsily protruding from his jeans. Famine’s eyes narrowed, flashing a hypnotic red and he froze in place. “Ahote show him that tattoo mommy gave you. We're here to play, Theobold.” Famine purred with a malevolent smirk as she held out the same request he had sent out to the dark guilds. Her split second gaze would free his body so he could take the parchment from her hand.

He's just the cutest little thing ev- AHHH. >///>
"Oh, alright!" When Famine said Robbers, he assumed she was referring to the commonly played game Cops 'n Robbers, which did no harm. Ahote had played the game several times before, so he was genuinely excited to play it again with new faces. But he wasn't too sure why they went here to play it. The Guild Hall was big enough as it is to have one big hide and seek game, so Cops 'N Robbers shouldn't be so difficult to execute in the halls.

But then again, he was relieved he got to breathe a different air than something of dust and other mysterious scents, but it wasn't like the city smelled any better.

Ahote Famine would guide him to their destination (especially impressed with her navigation through the darkness), what Ahote did not expect was this thug-like man to be on a staircase. Just as flustered and frightened as the man was, Ahote had hurried behind the leg of Famine as he reached for something at an alarming rate.

A bit startled and nervous, Ahote was reluctant to go any farther than Famine did, but still revealed the fluorescent-red hued Basilisk Fang tattoo on his belly by rolling up the hem of his shirt, and quickly hiding behind Famine's leg again. "H-Hi... I'm Ahote..." He would whisper. He may be nervous, but manners are manners!

Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain

The thug seemed to go ridgid all over as soon as his eyes laid on the emblem at Ahote’s stomach. He knew of her guild, and he feared it….good. Now he knew not to underestimate her or the child...

Theobold grumbled to himself before moving to lead past the two, gesturing for them to follow back out through the garage they came. Once he and his crime partners, Famine and Ahote, were out he reached up and caught the door by its handle, sliding it down and shut with the loud hum of rolling metal. The thug tugged his own bandana up over his nose, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Famine made a similar identity herself and shifted her hood up over her head, handing Ahote a black bandana she without a doubt had managed to quickly form from her magic. "You gotta look the part, kiddo” she smiled from beneath the shadows her shawl cast over her face. In truth, Ahote’s identity had to be concealed just as much as the adults in this situation. "Now, let’s go.” Famine purred as her eyes lowered to the boy's, a hand moving to ruffle his otherwise organized hair

In all truth, Ahote was greatly menaced by this man. He had been in a city he had never been before, it wreaked of oily smells and smoke that he feared that was anything but good, and if anything, the city looked remote and infamous. Like every open area belonged to some gang. But with the comfort of Famine, most of his worries were overridden with a guardian's protection.

Ahote resumed to keep close to Famine as the man was released from her magical grasp, not daring to question them again after those events. He gestured that they follow him, and so they did, but it had appeared that they were being led back to where they entered from, but with a few route changes, and Ahote had been clinging to Famine to entirety of if the walk, fearing that his poor navigational skills would fail him if he dared to let go.... that and the man still scared him.

Soon, doors slid down and shut, and it had appeared as if they were not getting into character. Ahote's face lit up to this, and his eyes twinkled with excitement. He excitedly had accepted his bandanna and and giggled, "I get my own banana? This is so cool! We get to play games and we get to wear costumes! I even get a banana! And, we also..." Ahote continued to ramble on about how excited he was to play with Famine, though in the most silliest of ways mispronouncing 'bandanna' with 'banana'.... Ahote was still learning the simplest of things.

Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain

    Banana

Famine felt herself choke back a laugh, something she hadn’t seemed to of done in a very long time now. She both had the urge to smile and smack her palm to her forehead… it was a hilarious mistake… but for the sheer fact that the mage found it…’cute’ she neglected to correct the boy. Instead she simmed forward and allowed Ahote to cling as close to her leg as she pleased.

Inevitably, the thug in front of her stopped and Famine came to her own halt. This had to be the joint then... Famine squinted into the sun-lit sky and up at the shop sign just as the client aside her did: “Rusty Gold.” She couldn’t tell what kind of dealer this was at first but a glimpse in the widget and gizmo crowded display windows made it clear enough. This had to be some kind of an antique pawn shop.

She held a palm in front of her and like when she always conjured a creation and a black, inky, mass mass welled in her hand shifting into the desired shape: a pistol. Famine toyed at the trigger of the makeshift gun so to show  Ahote that it wouldn’t fire, the thing was just like a toy and that was good enough… Famine had no intentions to kill today… they’d simply be engaging in some ‘friendly’ robbery.

“M’kay. You keep that sack ready for the money, Theo and I will take care of the rest.” She chirped down at the boy before she placed a hand at and pushed open the door. The bell-string tied just over the door jam signaled their arrival with an all too innocent chime. Holding the doorway open with her back, Famine nudged her head forward and gestured Theobold in first. Upon entry Famine watched as he reached for the back of his pants where he had stuck his own handgun, one that indeed was very real. Famine stepped in after him gingerly and waited for Ahote to follow before she dared to make a move. “--And stay close, Ahote.”
