Baby Steps [Closed]

Surprisingly, and for whatever reason Sayuno was still in Hargeon Town. She had not left after obtaining her passport and it had not been too long since that had happened. There was not much she could do in this town but Sayuno was still interested in earning some money. She needed a ride to whatever city she decided to visit afterwards after all, so she decided to take a look around and see what Hargeon’s job board had to offer. Naturally, there was not going to something great since this town was home to a guild after all - they got all the good stuff.

Fortunately for her, Sayuno found a mission that was going to start tomorrow. It was late already so she could stay the night in a motel, start tomorrow and leave tomorrow night. She did not want to spend even more days here so that came in quite handy. The mission was not a high ranked one so Sayuno did not even bother reading the details. She grabbed the flyer and went to the motel where she would spend the night in peace and by herself. She woke up the next day and searched for the address that would lead her to the house of the Adams Family.

They opened the door and both parents seemed to be a bit surprised to see her. They were also in a hurry which is why they pulled her inside and started explaining immediately. “We will be gone for the day, we have some work-related business to do.” The father explained while the mother held her child up in the air before giving it to Sayuno - who had no idea how to handle it. She was not good with kids - never had been - but for the sake of money it could be done, she thought.

“We will be leaving now, by noon we will return and we want you to teach him how to walk. Do whatever it takes, but do not hurt him. We have tried everything already so you are somewhat our last hope.” They left with those words, leaving the child in Sayuno’s arms. She could not understand how parents would trust a mere stranger to do anything with their own child, but she figured that those parents probably weren’t the most loving ones anyways, considering the way they treated their son. Sayuno placed him onto the ground.

Getting the baby to walk was surprisingly easy. It took some time, but it wasn’t impossible all together. Sayuno would repeat placing him on both his feet, pushing him around a bit so he would learn how to balance his body. It seemed that the baby was easy to teach and perhaps he had only faked that he wasn’t able to walk so his parents would carry him around more. But Sayuno couldn’t believe that babies that age were actually smart enough to do so. Eventually and after pushing him around for hours and hours (Sayuno wasn’t exactly gentle either) he would walk and as his parents came here they were overjoyed to see the success of his son. For Sayuno, that was it and she left with some pocket money.
